Reviews of Five Guys Covent Garden
M.
Very hard to be disappointed by a five guys, always full of flavour, perfectly grilled burgers and a wide variety of toppings. Very difficult not to leave a mess! Unlimited soda refills are a must for a meal of this magnitude, and the quantity of fries is awesome. Highly recommend to anyone passing by, if you're a regular or have never been, it is by far one of the best burger chains out there!
(And it's not just burgers!)
A.
This place does the most wicked milkshakes in the land.
I hadn't had a five milkshake for more than a year and coming to London it was the first thing I had to do.
OMG it was worth the wait...
I had a oreo milkshake and it was just divine... I had a memory rush when I had the first mouth full... It was fresh, creamy, sweet rush, refreshing, my taste buds were doing a million taste blips a second.
The only diwn dude was the straw collapsed after a few slurps.. But that's for good reasons.... No plastic.... So I just necked it instead....
T. T.
Staff on tills didn't really seem to be happy to be there which puts you off a bit. Had to clear our own table before sitting down as no one seemed to be doing it.
Can't knock the food though, fresh, tasty and really filling.
A. A.
Very nice location and it has a lot of setting area downstairs as well,
Same as any other five guys fresh burgers and absolutely delicious fries.
It's usually very busy but it's actually quicker then most five guys.
A. B.
Great location Great service Great burgers...busy busy like the old good day...hopefully it will stay like this...
A. B.
Can't go wrong with five guys for a delicious burger, fries and shake!
S. S.
Beautiful fries, I will say the best quality ever so fluffy inside and so crispy outside. Burger is super yummy. Never fails the consistency. Milkshakes are delicious 😋 as well
M. K.
Tasty burgers and fries. A fine place for lunch.
I heard a lot about this place so I was excited to try their burgers. I was greeted with happy friendly staff.
When I ordered a cheeseburger I was given a huge selection of ingredients to add to it, like jalapenos, peppers, onions, ketchup, and more.
The burger is HUGE. Just by looking at the melted cheese makes your mouth water. My goodness, it's delicious. It makes lunch into a feast.
To go with that I ordered Cajun fries that are nice and spicy. Ketchup is availble to add a bit of flavour.
And to finish it all off, I had a regular sized Coke Zero. Available on the tap.
The interior design is really cool. Thumbs up. Nice and comfy. An ideal place to chill with your friends. The environment was made even better with rock music from the 90's.
So overall...
Five Stars for Five Guys.
I enjoyed myself here. I will return. =D

Best borger and the french fryes are amazing
M. F.
Amazing customer service and the best burger I have ever had. Thank you very much, specially the guys in the black shirt, I didn’t catch his name. Thanks again
m. a.
I have visited your branch 2 days ago, the best customer service and food I have ever had. Thank you! Keep up the good work!
A. T.
Brilliant shakes and fries. Burgers are very greasy though

Always cheerful staff, always good food, and fair price - can't go wrong

Fries are ok...not as expected....milk shakes are awesome

Went on a Saturday afternoon and it was absolutely rammed, but staff did amazing. Food within 10 minutes. All very welcoming, polite and helpful. Lovely food and great portions and reasonable prices.
M.
I ordered two burgers, a sandwich and a shake to go, when I arrived at the hotel there was just a burger and fries inside the bag, while everything was on the bill…after all still a tasty fast food chain, would just be cool if there would be a way to contact them since the phone number is not valid from my phone.

Great food. Fast service, much taster than other burger fast food restaurants wich is reflected in the price.
T. M.
Really nice burger and chips!! Very much pleasantly surprised. Not your typical fast food.

Location: London Long Acre Store.
Price: A little expensive for fast food.
Taste: Fries is good, burger is good. Milk shake is good.
Service: You queue, you order by choosing your favourite, add your free toppings, order your sides, then pay, wait for them to make and then shout your number.
Atmosphere: A little packed and noisy due to the shouting of order number. Basement has more seats and toilet.
Pros: Free peanuts, tasty food.
Cons: No chilli sauce, constant shouting of order number, buns are cold. No difference between dine in and take away, all order are packed to go. No set meals.

I have visited your branch 2 days ago, the best customer service and food I have ever had. Thank you! Keep up the good work!

Five Guys undoubtedly does a great burger and chips. But is it worth the high prices they charge? I visited the Covent Garden restaurant after hearing how great the burger is, and on that I was not disappointed (pictured). I like that you can choose the toppings (including mushrooms, which is a nice touch) and it isn't as greasy as a lot of singular places. The chips too are delicious, and you can definitely notice they cook it in a better oil than most places (peanut oil apparently). But, to be honest, I was a little shocked by how expensive it is - it came to nearly £15 for a cheeseburger, chips and a bottle of water. While it is better than, say, a McDonald's or a Burger King, is it 'double the price' better? I'm not so sure.
S. C.
Lovely place to grab a burger, made to your satisfaction. This was my first visit to this five guys branch. A lovely location and it has a good atmosphere.
The burger was lovely, but the bacon was slightly over cooked.
The hot dog was tasty.
Overall a great experience and good customer service.
I will be back!!! 😋😋😋😋😋

My son wanted to go as he's a burger eater. I like food that I don't have to eat with my fingers out of paper wrappers so I might not be the target market for 5G. Its better than McDonald's. But not by a great deal.
J. H.
Excellent burger, good fast food service and more than adequate cool drink selection..
J. B.
Best burger I have ever tasted, tailored to your personal preference & cooked fresh.
In addition you end up with a bag of, locally sourced, freshly made & cooked, chips.
Choose between bottomless soda or a tailor made milkshake combo of your own choice.
Slightly more expensive than other fast food restaurants but way more satisfying.
Treat your tummy.
A. V.
People are nice, burgers are nice. The place looks like the hamburglar just broke in and done the store over though. I'm talking about random chips just scattered across the floor, unknown sticky patches that I'm hoping are from spilled drinks, and more greasy bags laying around than Jordans birthday afterparty.
I. F.
Good burger and its the biggest small fries you will ever get!
The seating area is however very messy and its not a place you wanna sit and have your meal.
A. M.
First visit to this branch of Five Guys. As usual the food was freshly prepared, pipping hot and tasted excellent. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the restaurant including the toilet facilities were immaculate. We'll done Five Guys, another of your branches I will be returning to👍
M. K.
Well needed pit stop, very tasty.
C. R.
The best burgers going, friendly staff, not cheap but worth it for a great treat. Also tried the millionaires shake for the first time was so good! Five guys never disappoints
B. K.
Quick service and tasty food. The portions of fries were not as generous as in other locations though. Not sure if this is a London thing.
V. C.
Never though a burger could make my night! So in love with it! FIVE GUYS! You do know what you are doing! Thanks for the unforgettable burger. And you also do crispy chips as well!! Even better! Next time I will go for milkshakes 💓💓
J. S.
Amazing food, and a very clean place with friendly staff, ate here 2 days in a row whilst spending a long weekend in London, loved it 😊
A. M.
1st time I'd eaten at 5 Guys and was impressed. Speed of service and coordination of the process from placing the order and watching how other orders were received. Burger was nice too
צ. c.
Best borger and the french fryes are amazing
F. E.
Great first experience, the staff who was a lady (forgot the name but she was maybe in her 40s, tan, dark hair) was super bubbly and nice. I loved our conversation! The food was absolutely amazing, would highly recommend. x
J. J. (.
Nice burgers. Not top, but pretty good for a fast food place. Really like the burger in a lettuce wrap.
A. H.
Amazing burgers/veggie sandwiches. Chips are always lovely. Quick and friendly service. Great for a quick bite to eat and you can add lots of topping choices to your burger. Drinks machine has alot of choices from cherry coke to unusual fanta flavors.
A. L.
Amazing array of customisation for burgers and milkshake. The double patty for cheeseburger was juicy and sinfully greasy. I got the Peanut butter, chocolate and coffee combo for my milkshake. It is diabetes in a cup but definitely one of the best milkshake I had. Price is steep but normal for eating out in London. Will definitely revisit to try other permutations.
N. C.
Been with my partner for nearly 5 years, we said as we came out of Five Guys today "I'm scared of going to any other burger place because of my immesurable disappointment that I spent money in another burger joint that doesn't have as good burgers as five guys."
This place no matter what branch you'll get the same burger, (how you want of course) which you might think is bad but the taste of these burgers is addicting.
For all the burgers I have and ever will have this is the only burger worthy.
So much so that we will be having these at our wedding.
B.
Absolute banger of a restaurant chain! Their famous fries are Godtier with their spices and cruchyness ( you can also ask for even more spices and longer frying time ). You won't regret getting food from this lovely place if you are an avid french fry fan like I am. I haven't bought anything else other than the fries but I also assume they are great 😅
T.
I noticed recently that this particular five guys portions on large chips is getting smaller.
Need to step up compared other five guys i have been.
Five guys is known for there very generous amount of portions they give out.
E. F.
Friendly staff .
Great food .
Even though it was busy the food came out in good time and was fresh .
Was busy but there was table to sit down on
The table could of been wiped down more often but had my own wipes with me because if covid .
J. R.
Great food. Fast service, much taster than other burger fast food restaurants wich is reflected in the price.
A. H.
The milkshakes are a must try, mix and match any flavours you want but I like the Peanut butter, salted caramel and banana. As the meat was not halal, I couldn't have it. You can try the Cajun fries. Have complimentary peanuts while you wait
Lots of seating available so you will always find a table to yourself. The service is quite fast for all orders
S. S.
If you order online you can add extra cheese and bacon to your burger for free. Messy and a little overpriced, but still a tasty burger!
P. B.
This is one of those places where the food is awesome, and made just how you like it. What I really liked was the whole ethos around the fries - you get tons of them! I'd say a single portion is enough for two people, but they fill up the container, put it in the bag, and then tip even more on top.
Burgers were great, restaurant was clean and tidy, and although it's probably twice the price of your traditional burger joint, it's better food, and better service. I'd certainly recommend Five Guys, where ever you are.
D.
I you want burger that's good enough but higher oh quality that people throw arund
D. B.
Good and tasty like burgers should be, with plenty of different toppings, and plenty of chips but over priced, £20 for two burgers and chips.
S. A.
Fries are ok...not as expected....milk shakes are awesome
A. S.
This particular Five Guys is special to me as my first experience of Five Guys was on my stag dressed in a leopard onesie 🤟🏽
The food and staff are equally brilliant
A. T.
We love their milkshakes so much, and done very quickly to take away- can't fault their service and speed. But the paper straws....make sure you get at least 3!! We knew to do this from lessons learnt previously and actually did get through 3 straws (maybe 4?).
n. m.
Pretty good but the veggie burger is much bigger in the states. Was very sloppy but still tasty.
a. n.
Best burgers in town! Never fail to deliver! If you never had then you have to try!
J. C.
I haven’t had Five Guys since being in the States and so it was a great taste from home. I highly recommend a bacon cheese burger all the way with BBQ sauce. It’s the burger you try to make at home, but just can’t quite get it right.
P. P.
Always cheerful staff, always good food, and fair price - can't go wrong
S. K.
It was awesome! Speed is still fast, taste is good. Bit sad we don't have peanuta anymore
B. V. H.
I just don't get the rave reviews for this chain. I feel like whatever I've ordered has always been served lukewarm and "just fine" but nothing more.
K. A.
Decent, though overpriced burger chain that goes hard on garish decoration. Good for watching the mass of tourists trying to find Covent Garden
L. C.
It was nice, but always shocks me how much a meal costs, for a cheese burger and chips.
G. M.
The burgers are very good, but the fries are excellent! When I say excellent I mean absolutely amazing. Definitely worth the visit.
G. T.
My top choice forba proper authentic fast food burger! For a Fast food is not cheap at all, but it is worth! The meat is so tasty and the fact you can personalize all your burger is the key for their success!😋 I love also the cajun potatoes ! I definitely recommend it!
A. L. P.
Not that much to say, just that is extremely delicious the burger and also the fries,a bit pricey but yeah.
P. R.
Friendly staff having a freestyle coke machine with 100 different combinations burgers are freshly made and the milkshakes to die for
C. C.
Chain fast food. The good thing about this place is that you can choose the fillings and the burger taste very good. Free peanuts for your waiting are available inside. Plenty of seats.
L. M.
Few days ago, I had the most delicious milkshake and cheeseburger I’ve ever had and my fries were a lot! It was nice to see the staff positively welcoming me in the entrance and the till! I would definitely visit this store again! Love you Five guys!!!!
R. C.
Very helpful staff, given they were sooo busy! Burgers here are AWESOME!!
N. Z.
Amazing burger can't fault it all however the chips were not far off from being inedible very dry and hard cajun seasoning on them was pretty nice. But I recommend the milkshake a d burgers not the chips
M. D. (.
Amazing burger place. One of the best best burgers I have ever had. Absolutely worth the cost and the queuing time.
D. (.
Food was brilliant as always. I have to knock a star off because I was rushed to order and felt pressured by staff to get out the way fast.
M. G.
Thank you for the best burger i have ever had and Thank you Gabi for you amazing customer service
M. J.
Tasty cheeseburger, compares well to an A & W Burger in the US. Very overpriced at just under £15 for a burger, chips and soft drink. I had to wipe the table before I could put food down.
T. P.
Excellent bacon cheese burger at £10.45, its the best posh burger place around. I like the fact that you can custom build your burger and the meat and bun are so soft and juicy its a pleasure to eat. Skin on fries are good and you get a lot for the money.
Would go again, but only for the burger.
V. K.
Plenty tables down, quick services, great burgers and amazing milkshakes
M. T.
Really basic burger. Fries are good. Price/quality wise it's a bit too expensive in my opinion. Burgers could use some refinement.
M. C.
Great Burgerplace. Big servings of fries and shakes with bacon!!!
C. F.
Delicious burger,good service ,friendly staff.
K. (.
It will always be my favourite burger ever. 🍔
M. D.
Nice Five Guys in a good location. I'd say it's a little pricey and you always get given waaaaay too many fries, but other than that it's a great place to stop and have a bite if you are feeling like burgers!
M. P.
Average burgers, average size. Huge portions of chips which is nice. This is similar to McDonald's but twice as expensive. For that price you better of finding proper burger restaurant.
D. V. (.
The food here is always awesome. Little pricey for a burger joint, but well worth it
J. S. -. C.
First time visiting great burgers at £9 each and £4.75 for chips which we could have easily shared a portion but that said great food.
B. R.
1st visit to five guys, wasn't disappointed as it all tasted great.. One slight down side I personally though is it was on the expensive side maybe, nonetheless great place to stop for a bite to eat.
A. S.
This was actually a great burger. I was impressed as to the taste and size of the portion.
R. L.
Love the quick service and good quality burger! You are able to customize it when you order which is nice! Also have free refills of your drink when you eat in, slight more expensive than other fast food joints but if you want a quick good quality burger go here. Highly recommend.
H. B.
My son ordered a burger and was very happy with the burger. Did not have to long to wait. Did think it was slightly expensive for the burger and chips compared to McDonalds.
J. M.
The burgers are good but as always the buns are sweaty due to the foil wrapping which they use. I wish they would change this as it degrades the quality of their food.
I. N.
Five Guys was a new discovery for us. Great burgers, and outside seating, too!
M. E.
Food great but tables and toilets not cleaned. No tables on ground floor reserved for disabled customers
K. s.
Amazing burgers and fries awesome shakes everything is so fresh but if you want cheap go to McDonald's
e. d.
great fast food
D. H.
Awesome burger brilliant option is that you can create your own custom fillings. Always go for the spicy chips/fries and there a wide selection of soft drinks and a small selection alcoholic beverages.
R. G.
Trendy place for some quick bite in central London. Spicy chips are highly recommended
S. A. S.
The staff is polite and helpful food is so nice 5 stars
A.
That’s my second time with Five Guys, first time wasn’t in that branch and it was disappointing. Today I gave it another chance, honestly it was tasty and delicious, I ordered Cheeseburger, fries, and cheese dog. I think I have that time a better experince but I think it still didn’t reach my high expectations after what I heart about that restaurant. I think that’s public thing due to the pandemic. Enjoy your meal(s)!!
M. S.
Lovely burger but I prefer to get my fillings separate
A. C.
Best tasty burgers in town as usual. Recommended it!
J. M.
It’s a great place but for me the food was too oily and fat. But still worth a try.
ר. ב.
The burgers are delicious and the fries even tastier!
J. D.
Great food, gigantic portions (order the small burger, it's not small!). Very quiet.
j.
great burger. not great decor. but hey. still yummy.
T. A.
the food is kindof expensive but sooooooooooooo worth it. it's delicious and perfectly amazing. and you get free refills! it's not very busy or loud.
N. C.
Fast and amazing service. Made my 25th great! I've never had Five Guys before but I'm so glad I tried them. Definitely a place to visit again
m. h.
Given the place was pretty empty, my burger was served slightly warm, not hot.
I. M.
Not a big fan of junk food, but once in a while, why not, and just choose the best one. Five guys five starts.
M. C.
Delicious burger. Pretty expensive though. £50 for 3 people having burger and fries.
M. W.
Very good burgers coupled with efficient service.
R. C.
Food is good, but the atmosphere is freezing. They have the air-conditioning set far colder than it needs to be. People were walking in from a warm late summer evening and having to put on hoodies and sweatshirts. Also, it's so cold that your food is cold long before you're able to finish it.
4 stars for the burger, 0 for completely unnecessary energy wastage.
D. E. C.
Great food, great services, love it. Thx!
R. O.
Nice burgers and chips. Very good portion size as I struggled to finish all of my food. That could have been down to the milkshake though! I did however find the chips overly salty, but I think this is just the way Five Guys makes their chips. Lots of seating, and queues weren't too long. Good place to grab a quick bite to eat!
E. T.
We visited Five Guys in Covent garden with low expectations. The prices are quite high for a burger. However, Florin Duma was very nice from the initial conversation and made our visit to the restaurant worth every penny. He was very attentive, kind and professional. He made sure we were happy and comfortable while there. Despite our initial thoughts, we left the place very satisfied for the customer service and convinced that we are coming back.
L. d.
The usual Five Guys experience in terms of food - tasty burgers and drinks (especially the milkshakes) but a little high in terms fo price. This branch is always busy, so do not expect to get a table, or be prepared to wait for your turn! Access for wheelschairs is good, but there is absolutely no parking anywhere near this branch, so train or taxi will be the only options for you.
H. C.
Lovely as ever. Prompt service. Boys enjoyed the burgers. Nice they have a vegetarian offer bit a couple more choices wouldn't go amiss.
I. T.
Much better than McDonald's . It cost more but bigger .
B. J.
Great burgers and milkshakes. Good to be able to choose your own toppings when everyone wants something different!
N. S.
Hype didn't live up to expectations. Chips very nice, milkshake good, but the main dish, the burger was rather a let down. Staff friendly and covid safe, though tables could have been disinfected more frequently.
E. H.
Really great food for the price. It was quite expensive for a fast food restaurant, but it was worth it in my opinion.
Although they sell their small burger and chips as sounding really small, they are not. They would happily provide a filling lunch. The regular burger is the same with 2 burgers rather than one, in the bun.
Beware, the spicy chips are not!
N. P.
Best burger at this price range. Delicious bun and patty. Fries are also very good.
P. C.
Fast and efficient service even at a peak time just after the theatre had emptied.
P. L.
Lovely staff, great burgers!
D. C.
No frills no nonsense burgers, all fresh ingredients make this burger divine. Don't miss out on their milk shakes!
C. d. J.
I went to Five Guys for the very first time today, for lunch. Great service at the till, the girl that served me (her name was Nikita), was super friendly and helpful. Needless to say that I loved the food as well! Keep up with the great work! 🙂
M. C.
Good burger, loads of chips. But feel like I want a table service.
B. G.
Good food, like restaurant food, not fast food.
D. S.
Not the best five guys I've ever met. Staff, could do better. Food, could definitely be better. there was no life in the place. not five guys.
r. b.
Tasty hamburger! Nice place, good price!
2.
Burgers very overpriced and small. Tasted good though
n.
Service and speed of cooking was incredibley quick..great for families
m. v.
Great flavors, service fast and spotless. Amazing and abundant chips.
A. A.
Simply awesome burgers and milkshakes. Value for money
A. O.
Very good food. Service was great
M.
Clean and tidy considering the number of people going in and out collecting food. Worth paying the little extra for the big extra quality. I will go to Five Guys again
a. p.
Best burger I’ve ever had so far in London and the staff is very polite and nice! I would definitely go back there!
R. M.
wooow!!!! nice very very tasty!!!!
lovely costumer service!, the toilet super clean comparing with other places!!! i spend £, but very well deserved!
thank you for being there for us! :D
F. O.
Much better than all other fast burger joints. Especially the chips, which are hand cut and good quality. Honestly, the food is very good. However, it is expensive. A burger with fries and a drink can cost you over £13. The drink option is good, you can pay £3.50 for a cup which you can fill as many times as you want with any of the dozens of soft drinks they have.
M. P.
Fantastic! As always FG delivers! Great service, fantastic burger / shakes
P. (.
Great for a quality burger. Most toppings are free so have a think of what you want on top before ordering. Milkshakes are thick and loaded with calories to cause a great attack but with it. The bun less option is a burger wrapped in overbuy lettuce, Definitely get cutlery going hands on just means getting meat juices all over you
J. V.
You can make a great burger, because you have a really big choice of everything. Meat was fresh and tasty. Spicy fries were tastyful, but were over salted :(. Friendly stuff, quite fast service. Great experience from FF there :)
C. C.
Taste good, nice fast food here.
J. G. (.
The burger is very nice, however it is very fatty and feels a lot heavy (probably full of calories). The offer is quite limited (burgers, chips, shakes and... ?) and the prices are not so cheap. I also don't like the way they wrap your burger around a foil, put it in a bag and (if you order chips) just throw the chips inside the bag.
The value for the money is still good and the burger tastes quite good, chips are average.
M. S.
Second time having Five Guys and cannot fault. Fries are great and always a big serving.
Burger was really good too
S. s.
Don't be put off by the price of a burger. It's a double patty in a bun and you can add up to free 6 different toppings. They give you a bucket load of fries ether salty or spicy for a standard price. Really tasty.
C. G.
Five guys is decent food. The burgers are tasty, the fries are plentiful and the shakes are alright. The issue lies within the price tag. For the aforementioned trip, you could be putting down almost £20. It’s just not worth it. This location is nice, but doesn’t make up for the price tag.
D. C.
Bacon Cheeseburger, Small Cajan Fries and Freestyle Drink. £16.65. Expensive, but having worked at Five Guys before, I know the freshness of produce and the quality of the produce and the effort put into making everything there perfect. Was great to visit the 1st UK Five Guys. It wasnt too busy I was waiting a bit longer than I should've in my opinion. Very clean and food was great, service with a smile. Would recommend.
S. C.
Much too busy at all hours of the day, I have been numerous times and there are always massive queues and not enough tables.
R. T.
Best burger in the existence of human life.
The drinks: 10/10 they've got a massive selection of free refill drinks
The fries: delicious spicy and salty fries locally sourced from different farms across UK.
THE BURGER: needs no comment. Absolutely brilliant.
J. R.
Really good place, but really overpriced but the abundance of fries makes up for it
L.
Amazing burgers but could add a little less salt on the chips
A. R.
Reviewing a burger place is a bit weird, there is nothing spectacular to say. It's definitely a notch above McDonald's or Burger King, better quality meat, amazing skin-on chips, and filling (But sickly) milkshakes. After a night out, there's no better place. It is expensive though, about 14 quid for a burger and chips, not something I would eat often but feels good once in a while. Staff here are always friendly, helpful and remarkably quick - never have had an order wrong like I frequently get in the lesser chains.
s. m.
A bright, clean place to eat. The food is very good, with fries with their jackets on (they dont peel the potatoes which for me is good, fibre!). The burgers are very nice and allow you to choose extra fillings. Despite your nearly unique combo, mine was still cooked in 4 minutes! Quicker than my local macdonalds.
Apart from the high price, the only other negative was that this 5 guys is very large on 2 floors. However there is only one soda machine, so if it is busy and you're on the wrong floor, dont expect to take advantage of the free refills!
J. P.
I've not liked the burgers here in the past but this time tried the all beef hotdog for myself and it was really good. Had a side order of fries which were both fluffy inside and crispy on the outside. My best trip there to date.
M. M.
Got introduced to this chain by a couple of friends and got to say, those are some of the best burgers I ever had. Quite tasty, juicy and well balanced. The amount of chips too was staggering. Free refills with a huge choice of soft drinks and a nice price grant Five Guys five stars.
M. A.
I have to thank the team! One of my friend is allergic to few vegetables, so they put them on a side for her!
They really did a good job! Customer services is great, I appreciate the helpfulness of the lady at the desk (cashier).
Moreover, they feature peanuts which are amazing, you don’t have to wait so much for the food but anyway the peanuts are made to wait in really good conditions!
Highly recommended!
Oh you should try the Fanta peach flavour one of the best drink ever!
M. 3.
Food and service not quite as good as other Five Guys restaurants. In particular the chips weren't as good and the quantity was less than normal. The chips seemed very small as well as if we'd been given the bad ones at the bottom of the fryer, making it very difficult to dunk them in sauce. Also, part of the burger bun was overcooked. I should have said something to staff in hindsight. Date of visit: 13th January 2020.
R. B.
Big burgers large fries absolutely delicious
M. F.
Some of the best fast food burgers one can get but the price is more fitting of a high street burger restaurant. Get your order in mind while you quickly queue as there are many optional bits. Many flavours of soft drinks and milkshakes. Good seating.
S. I. T.
My first ever Five Guys.
The staff were excellent and very motivated (vs other fast food chains).
The pricing is extortionate and the fries are stupidly over salted to the point of inedible.
The burger tasted good but fell apart so was tricky to eat.
C. D.
A million choices and you get to see it being made. The meat was fresh and delicious. The fries were plentiful but slightly over salted. Loved the place and it was a reasonably busy time of day so not disappointed with having to wait a while. Will go again.
L. B.
Ohh man! Five Guys is amazing - Five Guys in Soho - 360 surround, fully immerse experience that you can only have when visiting at 11:00pm
P. F.
I come for the milkshakes and fries. I'm in the minority that finds these burgers really bland and overrated. But their fries are the best out there for fast food. Fried in peanut oil and skin on. High caliber taters precious!
W.
A burger joint without the grease. Five guys is an awesome, classical burger place that makes good quality fast food. The restaurant has the speed of service and laid back style that you'd see in places like McDonald's and yet is also unique enough in its atmosphere and products that it can differentiate itself from other fast food places. A definite recommendation for a tasty, quick bite or dinner.
A. Z.
Love freshly made food ? Love Great customer service and charming decor ? Fan of delicious burgers with as many toppings as you desire ? Then quit reading this review and Go get some five guys already !
A. S.
Simplicity in all its glory. The freshest and most delicious burgers we've had.
I. C.
Friendly staff good food large portions
E. J.
I love Five guys so much! It’s too addictive and will be my downfall no doubt but it’s always delicious. The cheeseburger all the way with all the toppings is my clear favourite burger and I also loved the milkshake with peanut butter and Oreo mix ins. I really like the staff in there as they are all so smiley and happy. It can get really crowded at times and if you have to take away the food does get cold quick and it’s more expensive than some other places but I think it’s worth it.
M. H.
It's Five Guys, in London. Tastes like Five Guys which I love because the burgers are delicious. I continue to wonder who can actually eat the amount of fries they put in the bag?! The service was good even with this being a very busy location.
A. A.
You get the burgers with exactly what you want on them, made fresh to order. Free peanuts and a state - of-the-art beverage dispenser make this restaurant worth the visit. My burger bun was a bit mushed when I got it, but the burger was tasty nonetheless!
M. S.
Would've been 5 if it wasn't for five guys' need to spill all of the fries😂
A. C.
Five Guys is a great place to eat - lots of drinks to choose from, good burgers with plenty of toppings and great tasting chips. Service is good even at busier times due to the fast production line they have and all at a reasonable price. Overall great food - probably one of the best fast food chains in my opinion.
R. S.
Fantastic burgers freshly made with all the toppings you want. Chips are served generously, so even though I like my food, a small portion is more than filling.
The soft drinks are awesome with more flavours than you've ever seen. Free refills too, so you can sample a few at once.
Definitely visiting again!
S. C.
Nice chips. Good portions. Nice milkshakes
R. A.
Very good and tasty burgers
E.
Great quality of ingredients. I love the personalisation of your burger style. The fries are one of my favourite thing. Love design and customer service. Everytime I go though, I think to myself there is something missing for perfection.. I haven’t worked out what it is, but 1 star is missing!
W. W.
So far, still the best burgers in Reading and I have tried quite a few places.
All burgers are freshly made to order and are always juicy.
I prefer burgers with everything (and do mean everything) but have heard that plain cheese burgers are also great.
The plain chips are great and seasoned well.
Get regular sized and there is enough for two people.
And the "joint best" salted caramel shakes around.
Tied with 7 bone shakes, but 5 guys burgers are the best.
E. K.
Great burger and chips as always.
However, containers kept under the counter have way too little sauce in (barbecue sauce). I needed 3 - not very environmentally friendly (and annoying).
Also very little evidence of any table cleaning happening between servings. (Some tables disgusting)
M. B.
Nice place for a good burger and chips. Smal and large. Also hotdogs and other things.
Prices a bit higher them a McDonald's. But the taste is nicer. Chips are real potatoes, and 100% beef. You can get free fillings in the burgers. The drinks are help yourself with lots to choose from.
F. T.
Tasty burger, although pricey for what you get. Unlimited choice of toppings is great. Cheese comes across as plastic cheese. I really like the chips, but save yourself the money and only order small fries - whenever I've gone they always throw loads extra in the order bag.
A. M.
I do love five guys. You have to remember, this isn't like a McDonald's or burger king for a quick convenient burger. Five guys is more of a "sophisticated' fast food burger joint and your burgers are fresh and made to order each time hence the expense (£15 for a burger, milkshake and fries) I don't mind give guys for this reason but it isn't something I'd have every week and it's more like a treat
N. F.
Never been before but heard lots about it.. Not for non meat eaters! Salad in a bun and a scattering of mushrooms. In this day and age there are lots of vegetarian alternatives that can make the 5 Guys experience as good for the veggies as for the meat lovers. Come on.. sort it out.
S. T.
Excellent fast food! Don't bother with more than small fries unless you're super hungry, they basically fill the bag with chips.
Unfortunately when we went, the downstairs seating was flooded so there was quite a demand for seating upstairs
h. m.
Being vegan I had only fries and they were awesome... these guys added some spices and then it tastes awesome... spicy fries 🍟😋
D.
Knowing there is 62 grams of fat in one burger does not stop me from going for five guys. The decor is too plain as is the food presentation, the hot dog is standard and I'm not a fan of their fries, although they do always give more than you expect or need. But the quality of the burger, no matter how greasy it is still makes you savour every bite. Once I had 2 burgers in one sitting. I'm definitely a fan of five guys. The drink variety is an added bonus. Fast service too.
G. G.
Food is nice but not excellent. I never understand these kinds of places where you pay a normale price and you have to queue and wait standing for your burger and then look for a table. I prefer other chains where you can sit comfortably and have a (better) burger.
D. Z.
One of the best customer services.
Very friendly and professional staff members, always helpful. Leftheris and the Italian chap (can’t remember his name), thanks for your support for local NHS members during this difficult times.
Well done guys, keep it up!
Also special thanks for my extra jalapeño peppers 😬👍🏻
T. W.
Recommend the small burger and small fries (definitely do small fries if you are alone!). The patties are good medium with good seasoning, up to 16 toppings available in your burger including many sauces. Very busy at peak times. I would say this is the best burger in London.
C. M.
love the burgers- if you don't have a huge appetite, order a small one as they come double patty as standard! Love the options to add as many toppings as you like. Plenty of seats downstairs, and you can get a decent beer with your burger too- whats not to like! Don't go after 1pm on any day- you'll be queuing out the door and no chance of getting a seat inside! Go early or late.
S. K.
Was so happy to see a Five Guys in Europe! Definitely did not disappoint. Get free peanuts and the most delicious burgers in the world. Crew makes your food while you can see them and they are happy and singing. There's multiple people cleaning up the tables at the same time so it's nice and clean. Really loved it!
R. M.
Great tasting burgers and unlimited free nuts! Bit more pricy than standard fast food but worth the extra money. The chip portions are so big you probably won't finish them all if you have a burger!
F. A. K.
I really like Five Guys burger.
I ordered cheese burger and fries. I gave them just four stars because the fries was a little salty. For me it was the best Burger in London tell now.
Unfortunately its a bit expensive
W. D. I.
Five guys in Covent Garden is my go-to place for burgers. it’s cozy, the burger is full of flavour and the chips are just unbelievably good! They also have veggie options and if you are gluten free, they’ll wrap your burger in lettuce.
A. S.
Five Guys is always a good option. The staff was really lovely and you could see the great time they form. Working in those places it can be really stressful so having a good relationship with your coworkers is essential. Also the place was very clean.
A. H.
Great burgers and chips. The presentation didn't do it justice.
M. D.
Very tasty well made burgers with a lot of choice as to the toppings and extras.
The burgers are a bit on the greasy side, but that grease is holding all that taste in.
The chips are already quite heavily salted, you won't need to add any salt at tall.
The touch screen drinks machine can be a bit fun for kids to choose their drinks.
L. B.
Amazing chips and Super friendly staff!
m. o.
I had a Fries with a milkshake it was amazing I really love the Fries are so delicious 😋!
The guys were so polite and funny I had an amazing conversation with the stuff 😉 .. I think you guys will see me more.. thank you!
H. M.
Fresh and quick as always. One of the best burgers to have in London and the ability to order ahead is quite useful. However even if you order in person they are quite quick. I would avoid ordering on Deliveroo though as the taste is not the same.
G. R.
Just like the ones in the US, which is a great thing. If this means nothing to you then the prospect of one of the best burgers you've ever had awaits. Choose from loads of different toppings, all of which are free. Chips portions are very generous. Their hotdogs and shakes are also great. Prices are pretty high for what you get, even for London, hence no five stars. But the food is really good all the same.
T. D.
Good burgers. Extremely loud music. Free refils on drinks.
G. K.
Five Guys for me was a breath of fresh air. Quite industrial by design and definitely not cheap. The burger was great and chips also to a really high standard. I also loved the coke mix machines they have where people can choose their own flavour of soft drinks.
Lots of fun!
C. P.
Made to order burgers, with bottomless drinks and the biggest portions of fries, you will not stay hungry for long. If you are in the mood for a treat, try out one of the milkshakes a-maze-ing ! It's fast and efficient service and always clean.
T. B.
Tastey food. Great customer service skills from Staff. Worthy of tips.
E. G.
Great meat as usual, tasty juice burgers. The fries are delicious. The only bad point was the fact that there was not much staff and especially downstairs was quite dirty! Also the drinks machine was broken but the cashier did not highlight it.
S. N.
The only place to have a burger and the cajun fries🥰🥰🥰
J. M.
My favourite place for a burger in London. I love the simplicity of the menu and the ordering system. Only neg is the milkshakes are too thick for the straws they give you to drink them.
d. m.
Food was absolutely amazing and staff were excellent. I made the mistake of adding sauce to my burger asked about having it without but the food had already been made. I said not to worry and a manager moulod said he would make me an entirely new burger as my experience was important to them. The burger was perfect as was the service.
T.
Great burgers and nice milkshakes. Our favourite burger chain in London. Always go for the cheeseburger and cajun/seasoned fries. Portions are huge and you'll never leave wanting more.
l. r.
Great burgers shakes and fries
B. F.
Average burger. Budget decor. Good being able to choose your toppings and cool seeing where your chips have come from. But a) why not British potatoes? B) pricey and c) burger was quite greasy. Not sure it lives up to the competition.
R. P.
Great burgers and even better milkshakes. The fries taste amazing as they are fried in peanut oil which provides great flavour. Unfortunately, the the food is way too expensive!
B. P.
Great burger place! Nice fresh hamburgers and fries! And plenty of free ketchup and napkins! Plus free peanuts! They do it the good ol' American way, they don't skimp on condiments and the sauces or toppings. It's one price and it includes every topping imaginable. Their small fries is large enough to feed two people.
A. B.
Very good food, only reason why 4 stars is because it is very pricey you could literally sit down in a restaurant and have a meal with table service and pay less, although I feel price may be higher due to location. Burgers are exceptional and juicy and little fries is a giant portion so I wouldn't recommend getting any larger size.
a. f.
I will like to thank all the team today for being so kind an humble.
Specially lefteris great manager.
From Fuji team at long acre we thank you.
M. R.
Extremely busy during the Christmas period. Staff were somewhat helpful but having to go to another area to get a drink to then return to get food. The design isn't the best. Even worse to get told more seating downstairs and there isn't any. Food was good though and the malted milkshake devine. Although busy the staff seemed to be keeping morale high.
L. B.
Decent for the price, very overrated imho.
The burger was fine, surely a while lot better than McDonalds or BK, although they are a bit more pricy. Fries are ok but nothing special. The it real strength is the milkshake
P. I.
TL;DR - Just go, don't pass on the chips (fries)!
The burger we know and love. Best bun out there, decent tasting beef* and most likely THE best fries in the fast food industry. If hungry, you can't go wrong with these guys.
*Vegetarian options available
T. C.
This was a good choice for a quick bite at dinner time. It was very busy but food was served fast and was hot. Lots of seating downstairs. Staff was friendly. A little taste of America in London. Also they had one of the best Cokes I have had since I have been in Europe. Would eat hear again.
C. N.
Best burger I've had in London
G. v. d. V.
Great burgers and fries and you can choose different styles!
S. R.
A lot of reviews saying it was a glorified McDonalds but I absolutely loved it. Yes it isn't the same quality or experience you would get at somewhere like Honest Burger but it is 'fast food.' The burger is very flavourful and filling, also I only ordered the small chips and got the same amount as my fiend who ordered medium because they just chuck loads in the bag.
The drinks machine is a great idea but to be honest unless you buy loads of drinks it isn't worth £2.50 as you get filled up on drinks pretty easily.
Will definitely go again!!
T. A.
Great burgers and fries made in a clean kitchen which is easily viewed as it's directly behind the counter.
Food is made using good hygiene practice and fresh ingredients.
Can get extremely busy as they accept online orders and are situated in a prime tourist location.
T. J.
Best burgers in the town. Tasty and you can choose your own toppings. Fries are really good too. Recommend. If you are brave enough go for all the way toppings.
J. B. (. C.
I liked the food, I didn't like the pricing. Then again, it's London and everything is a bit pricier than at home. ;-) The burgers are good, far better than anything you'll get at that other place, the fries are fine, too, and getting as many refills as you like is perfect.
N. L.
Great experience!!! The burgers were full of flavour melting cheese salad tasted fresh I definitely recommend this place. I'll bring my husband next time he'll love it!!! let's not forget about the, awesome strawberry milkshake full of strawberries slices yummy yummy!!!
A. C.
I normally don’t eat burgers out as they always taste better at home, but this place is very good and they serve a huge portion of fries too!!
M. W.
This is my third 5 guys visit, the usual stuff is great, food was nice, staff were friendly etc
Problem here was the flooding in the toilets with no wet floor signs, they probably have a leak somewhere but felt like apart from a soak mat by the stairs the danger in the toilets was not exactly "safe!" One guy almost slipped, I just caught him before he landed, the stairs were particularly greasy so add the water and it was an accident waiting to happen.
J. P.
The best burger I've ever had! Period.
P. T.
Nice place for burger lovers. Nice concept, burgers are so good, same for chips, even when u ask for a small one you gonna have a big quantity. Kind of generous service. What should I say about drinks, unlimited, HUGE choice and innovative concept (tactile). Definitely a place you should'nt miss !
A. B.
five guys do the best burgers i've ever had! their milkshakes are tip-top too, and their fries are probably some of the best i've had. massive thanks to one of the supervisors today who more than made up for a problem with my order last week. thank you fella! top burgers and top customer service
J. T.
The best 5 Guys branch, I'd say. Good seating options, and little coves downstairs for if you have a group/want some privacy. Plus, they have an incredible selection of soft drinks of virtually every flavour of coke/sprite/Fanta made - still, and fizzy. Only downside is that it is perhaps quite expensive. Although you do get what you pay for, freshly cooked, unlike other fast food shops. This place is like a proper, high quality fast food place - where the actually cook the burgers in front of you, as opposed to just warming them up
Y. J.
The great thing about Five Guys is that you can tailor your burger. You can choose your basic burger, then add as many toppings as you'd like to it - for free!
But our first burger was quite dry
The burger is too tightly wrapped in the foil, so by the time you get a table and open it up, the burger bun has become all soggy and the whole burger has pretty much lost it's shape.
For the drinks, you can go for the soft drink option and choose from over 100 different types from the very cool vending machine. Or you can mix your own milkshake flavour! We opted for the peanut butter and salted caramel - quite creamy, but after a few slurps the flavour has pretty much gone.
As much as you can customise the burger, without all those toppings, the burgers are quite average. However, we can't fault the service or the free monkey nuts.
C. B.
It might pale in comparison to its American counterpart, but the burgers with their free toppings are almost unmatched at this price point. It's worth noting that those who prefer lean burgers might prefer elsewhere; the burgers here are unashamedly on the slightly greasy side.
Their drinks machines are the stuff of legends; an enormous selection of soft drinks that you can mix and match as you wish to make your very own brew.
J. T.
Day 2 in London and my family and I were feeling kinda nippy for burgers. An impromptu search saw us head to Five Guys and we left very full and satisfied. It's little surprise to see why the place was so packed with people. All the ingredients right down to the burger's meat was very fresh and the chips were damn good. All additional toppings (such as pickles, mushrooms etc) and sauces were free to add on. The people behind the counter were very friendly and the service was fast. The only negative thing that happened were some of the burgers we ordered included free additions that we hadn't asked for; I'm putting it down to the place being really noisy that communication was misheard. Overall though, it was a really great meal :)
S. S.
Amazing friendly ladies made our burgers. Fresh and juicy with hot crispy potatoes. Very pleased to find out that even with such a busy running place place is kept clean and fresh.
K. C. (.
Best Five Guys burger to date. It was so good and the fries seriously perfect. We went here twice while in London. They also have a Coke choice whatever thing so it's one of those rare places getting a drink is worth it in the UK because you can refill it.
B. K.
Amazing. Five guys burgers are the best in the country. All toppings are free, huge variety of free-refill sodas, spectacular tasting fries (and a huge amount of them). Relatively cheap, fairly fast service and good atmosphere
B. C.
One of the better burger chains with a 'build your own burger' philosophy. The 7 dials branch is often crowded, but ordering online can help you beat the queues. Due to the free peanuts, not the best place to visit if you have a nut allergy.
F. M.
Good burger place. The cool thing about it is that you can choose from a variety of toppings. They also offer milkshakes. It is more expensive than BK or McDonalds though.
P. G.
Was okay... don't get the hype
R. D.
I know that some people love Five Guys, especially if you read the magazine reviews on the walls. Personally, although the burgers are OK (and there were enough chips to sink a battleship)I do think that it is grossly overpriced. Now, we went to the branch near Leicester Square so I am sure that the rent and everything else is outrageously expensive. Whether the same prices apply in all of their branches I don't know but I don't think that I will be rushing to find out.
D. P.
Excellent service ! Food tastes amazing. Completely different than in the US. Thanks for having us !
M. B.
The Cajun chips are so good I wouldn't be surprised if people commute in from outside London to get them. The burgers are really good too, you can really tell they care about the quality of produce they use.
Having 'build your own burger' as the cornerstone of their meat disk business is brilliant too. You imagine it would mean nightmare queues, but it's actually a lot quicker than lots of other burger places where everyone takes ten mins to debate which burger of the twenty available they want off the menu.
They have the magic soda machines that give you 400 different options too, including the rare and delicious Fanta grape.
So why not five stars? Because it cost almost £19 for a burger, chips and drink and you're eat it sat next to clippings from American papers that tell you it's the best $8 meal the reviewer has ever had. 😐
M. M.
Great food made quickly and from scratch so you know what you're getting is fresh. The milkshakes from here are fantastic and the location makes it easy to find. If you can make it before the lunch time rush it makes a huge difference to your wait time as it's so popular. Staff are friendly and on hand to help and explain answers to any questions you may have
C. C.
A great little burger bar with some great burger offerings and excellent portion sizes (You always seem to get a ton of fries!).
A little on the pricey side, however the fact that this place always has a queue shows how tasty the food is.
I only wish there were more places to sit!
J. A.
Just like any Five Guys, the burgers are the best burgers in the universe. I was really psyched when I saw that there was a Five Guys here and the visit did not disappoint.
Five Guys burgers have strength they fill your mouth and the meet is just amazing. McDonald's is nothing compared to this.
C. G.
Always great food. A bit on the expensive side and you got a ton of chips (even when you order a small!!), but worth it. Quite greasy too, but for me it's just the right asking and not off-putting at all. Everyone is always friendly, never had a bad experience there. Definitely would recommend.
S. S.
Excellent value for money. Very big portions. We shared medium chips between three of us and still struggle to eat aswell as burgers. Friendly helpful staff. Also nice and clean. Well worth a visit.
J. K.
Great fries! But I ordered the medium size for a snack and there were so many! So unless you are sharing or super hungry just get small. I will be back for burgers!
T. K.
I do like the way the burgers are here. Just meat and cheese and a few toppings. The Cajun fries are delicious and you always get huge amounts. The salted caramel shake is so delicious, it's worth coming just for that.
T. Z.
Excellent burgers, great fries (go for the cajun variety). Big portions. No frills place with authentic atmosphere. Juicy patties, fresh veggies and British potatoes make this a must visit place in London.
J. L.
Good burgers made to order. Very good fries with huge portion sizes. Milk shakes available, clean tables. Friendly helpful staff
D. P.
Salty fries, not yummy, but good milkshake!
J. A.
Having worked for this joint for a couple of months this place makes decent burgers. However, after trying out the competition in the local vicinity (ie. Byron, Shake Shack and MEATMarket) I have to say that this place does not compare.
First of, the burger is cooked to "well done and juicy", I prefer my all burgers to be medium rare. Secondly, there was no seasoning on the burger and I felt it to be a bit bland. Third, the bacon was crispy which I liked. Fourth, there was a lot of choice to put on your burger. Last but not least, there was a lot of fries, but it was not crispy.
What this place does well is the simplicity of it's operation. It's a no nonsense kind of place.
PS. The coke machine is a nice touch.
Z. P.
Came here with pretty high expectations and was really looking forward to it. Went for the bacon cheese Burger, large fries and drink for around £16 as I really wanted to try everything Five Guys had to offer.
The staff were all very friendly and I really loved how you can see the grease stains through the little brown bags.
The burger itself was good, can't complain but then again nothing mind blowing. The free nuts you get were also very tasty. However, it was the fries that really let me down, I bite the fry and the fry didn't bite back :( It was in fact soft and way over salted.
All in all, it's an ok burger place. If I were to return, I will just be having the burger and skipping the fries.
W. L.
Has been average for me in the past but this time the burger was amazing, super juicy double beef with grilled onions and mushrooms.
L.
The burgers are absolutely delicious and I definitely reccomend chips. You can pay for one cup and have infinite refills, and that is what I love in restaurants. Totally reccomend!
C. M.
Great, authentic burger bar that doesn't pretend to be anything other than it is. It's great to see the production line in action with the friendly staff all looking like the enjoy working there. If you've experienced the wonder of In'n'out burger in the states this is just as good.
D. R.
Five guys have been always a good idea but still on this spot the service is really good and they are making a difference between the orders five guys. So thank you that you are making us feeling so comfortable and continuing making the amazing food ever time we go there.
S.
This ain't all that in a bag of chips! I grew up eating In n' Out, so this is no where near comparable to it. If this was a £4 to £5 burger, then I might be thinking it's worth it. But £10 for everything, no thanks. It did not taste great amazing.
J. M.
Had a few Beers? This is the place you want to come to. Forget what the US has to offer (in and out) this wipes them clean off the floor. Amazing burgers. Fresh fries. Nice music. Great end to an adventurous night. Get a cheeseburger with whatever toppings you want. :-)
H. D.
Ended up in her for a burger at my gf's request. Burger was really good, certainly better than some other fast food chains. I didn't go a bundle on the fries but I am told the offering changes as they source local so maybe not the day for me. Been past here before a few times and it's always busy, fortunately we didn't have to wait too long and found seats downstairs.
V. A.
Excellent burger restaurant! Simple consept and very tasty food served by incredible speed. If you need quick something to eat you definitely should think about Five Guys!
K. S.
Quick service, delicious food and shakes!
R. M.
My boys and I love a five guys burger. They are squidgely delicious. The boys love the gazillions of flavours of soda you can create in the machine. Milkshakes. I like the peanuts while you wait in the American style double queue system. But, this is a fast food place. You're not whiling away hours here. It is in- sit- eat- out. The burgers are sooo good though. Nice choice of toppings. And carefully foil wrapped.
S. G.
Lovely food as always friendly staff and obviously very busy
J. C.
I have been wanting to try Five Guys since it opened but the lengthy queues on a weekend really put me off, finally, a Wednesday off work and no queue meant I was served straight away and was eating my eagerly anticipated burger within minutes.
The burger is really good, flame grilled inbetween a squishy bun with the toppings you want - I've been thinking about it ever since. The fries were a little disappointing I have to say, skin on and quite thick (but a good portion size). The only problem I would say with Five Guys is that it is too expensive for what it is. It's a fast food place with minimal menu options and a basic hamburger and small fries cost me £9.50. I'm glad I tried it but for those prices I don't think I'll be returning any time soon.
L. P.
Best burgers in London, unbeatable value for money
L. J.
The food is nice enough but is it really worth £10 a burger (with two 'free' toppings) and £4.50 for fries? No.
With plenty of other burger joints in town I think I'll be going elsewhere in future.
A. M.
They have ok burgers but I don't see why people are so obsessed with this place. I've had better burgers and way less expensive than here
A. D. (.
When I think of a good burger I think five guys. Crispy Bacon cheese burger with pickle ketchup and mayo perfect. Can't go wrong however they are not the cheapest (but totally worth it) the fries also well seasoned.
r. f.
Great fast-food with a bit high prices. The prices in Five Guys is quite bigger than in average McDonalds or KFC, but their fries, burgers and hotdogs are fantastic, especially fries, never tried thus delicious fries. You can also get a unlimited drinks and choose what you want from 100+ variations. A place that you have to visit, at least for fries.
J. C.
Delicious American style burgers where you are free to add extra toppings at no extra cost. I'd recommend eating your burger before the fries. The fries are so salty I couldn't taste the burger after eating a few.
T. F.
Very good burgers , you can pick any ingredients you want to personalize it. The meat is fresh and juicy. You get some free peanuts to snack on while waiting in the queue. Dont put too many ingredients on it else the burger will feel tasteless.
J. C.
Simply magnificent, probably the best burger and the best fries I've ever eaten. Its prices may seem unfriendly but the meals are worth every penny. If you've never been to Five Guys, put it on your bucket list.
A. B.
It DOES live up to the hype. the burgers and fries were, for a chain, probably the best we've ever had (at a chain). would definitely come again. The bacon was crispy and perfectly done.. far too many choices for drinks - I didn't even know so many Sprites/Cokes/Fantas etc. existed!
T. K.
I thin these are the best burgers in London. Pretty expensive as far as burgers go but the flexibility of toppings is fantastic. Greasier and more generous than shake shack.
Great place for hyper loading on calories
D. H.
Always a pleasure and a solid burger takeaway place. The chips are never disappointing and being able to choose everything that goes into your burger makes it easy to enjoy.
K. G.
Got food to eat in here today. Ate in the additional seating downstairs and was very impressed by the constant cleaning and clearing up. Toilets were also very clean and food very tasty (as always).
R. M.
Went to lunch in five guys, great service and quality. Will come back for sure. Great experience
A. M.
Competes for the best burger in the city, although the competition is pretty fierce. There is an abundance of toppings for a small added price (go "all the way"!). The soft drink machine is a real treat offering literally near a hundred options. Given the location and reputation, the prices are OK (if not a bit on the pricey side)
S. K.
Love the burgers here! Great food, love trying different combinations of soft drinks and the music is good too. Only downside is having to queue outside the place at busy times but you never have to wait too long.
א. ר.
The peanut wild you wait to your diner are smashing, tasty, and give a good atmosphere. you have a refill machine for beverage of all kind of drink. the hamburgers done just right.
Thank you five guys
E. C.
Service is good and fast but the food is so overpriced
P. B.
These guys where busy and I will admit I was quite impressed how quickly the staff moved it was a welcome distraction while waiting which wasn't that long at all. When I got my food once again spot on. Great burger great shakes.
e. k.
As always they are consistent in service and food quality. It’s simply the best burgers, scrumptious fries fried in Peanut Oil, no canola or rapeseed here! And the thickest milkshakes period!
C. M.
After a lot of hype about this place, myself and two friends went along. The queue was extremely long out of the door so we assumed it would be worth the wait.
The burger itself was really nice but unfortunately I think it's a little over priced. There are better gourmet burger places in my opinion.
A. P.
The burger was nothing special, but the cajun fries were really good and plenty. Their milkshakes are the bomb and you can mix flavors as you want.
S. H.
As London continues the 'dirty' burger trend, Five Guys is the latest US mover to try it's hand in the United Kingdom. The food was fine, the highlight being the fries (although the portion size was almost laughably large). Decor was pretty average and the enlarged reviews plastered on the walls singing the praises almost set my expectations higher allowing the food to under-deliver. Overall still a good burger joint, just nothing to write home about.
S. A. A.
Came here with some friends and managed to get some place to sit down. The burgers are delicious and worth the money. I think you can also go bottomless with you drink also. Definitely looking forward to coming again.
S. N.
Over priced for no special reason. Burger tastes worse than a B&Q parking lot van. Chips is above average though.
S. T.
Quick and yummy if you like burgers. I was with an American and she loved the chips. Always worth visiting a 5 Guys. 1 regular chips is enough for 2 people.
M. D.
Delicious food and was happy to have some vegetarian options. We were very excited to enjoy the peanuts while we waited, free bathrooms, and refills on sodas! We hadn't had that for our time in Eurpoe. The food was delicious as normal and we would definitely go back!
C. H.
Went here for lunch a couple of days ago. We ordered wayyyy too much food (2 burgers, large chips, 2 milkshakes, 2 cokes). It was all delicious but just too much. Order smaller than you think you'll need, potions are big. Definitely coming back again:)
E. P.
If you are looking for a proper burger this is the right place for you. Quality is very good and portions are huge. Prices are around £6 / £8 for burgers and £2.5 / £4 for fries. Absolutely to try the "All the WAY"
M. W.
Always a great stop for food. Can get very busy as it is just off Oxford st but has a lower floor seating area which helps massively. One of the best burgers in town. Costs a lot more than other burger places like mcdonalds but the food is a much higher quality.
R.
Sat next to my mate and stole a chip or two.
10/10 would do again!
D. H.
Good burger joint close the theatre so handy and giving the true meaning of having a burger your way price wise fair as is made to order! Chips are decent and good size
v. p.
I enjoyed the time I spent with my grandaughter as it was here birthday. We sat in a nice separate booth downstairs. The reason for a star short was they did not put some of the ingredients as requested in our burgers. My grandaughter requested that we not complain it was ok.
J. B.
The burgers are fine, and cured me of a hangover that had my guts in my socks. I'm not a fan of the queuing system though, which is a matter of getting your money then putting you in a holding pen while you try to work out which burger in the chain might be yours. It's amazing how many burgers I convinced myself were mine.
So, excellent staff, and good quality burger, if not nine pounds good. Fries were overwhelming and average, and the drinks machine is like alchemist porn. I'll be back when I have my next serious hangover, and probably not before
L. P.
My favourite place to have custom beef burgers in London. They also overload the potato cup and give you a refillable cup for drinks. And you can have free peanuts while you wait for your order to be ready. Thumbs up!
M. Z.
The smoothie is nice.....very American burger style... expensive ah
T. H.
What you get is an delicious greasy blob (called "burger") wrapped in simple aluminium foil. Fries are extra but also extremely delicious. There can be quite a weird crowd queued up for their burger fix but the roasted peanuts you get while waiting make it worth it!
J. M.
A good fun experience. The burgers are great and you get to choose your toppings and sauce, the cajun fries are amazing but come in big portions and bottomless fizzy drinks in whatever Coke-brand combo you can think of! Personal favourite is cherry coke with fanta.
M. 1.
Great chips and burgers polite staff and a clean place to eat
C. D.
One of the best fast food burgers in London for sure. They are always busy but food is always ready in a few minutes. Also their hotdogs are amazing. The free monkey peanuts are a nice tuch!
z.
One of the best burgers in London. It always seems to be busy, but somehow you get to find a place to sit. Keep it simple, get some chips and enjoy. Just NEVER order the hot dog.
g. s.
Been to various Five guys restaurants before and have been happy. This time I found the burger too dry and the ingredients in the shake made it impossible to drink. Otherwise usual five guys fayre.....
S. S.
Delicious American burgers with consistent quality and an excellent range of choices for toppings. The fries are a little greasy and free monkey nuts while you wait is a hilarious idea considering the high calorie count of the burgers.
S. B.
Great place for fast food... good size portions.. clean and fresh eating area.. staff are very friendly and helpful.. the burger was one of the best . Would recommend.
D. M.
More than five guys work here making it extra tasty. Expect to pay up to £15.00 for a burger, fries, and soda. Toppings are free, so mix and match to your tastes.
There's freestyle Coke a cola machines at this branch. so every soda is bottomless. Just help yourself, but not with your five guys cup.
O. R.
For me it was nothing special. The product is nothing special, and with its price you can go to similar cheaper sites. Of course, the milkshake they have is the best I've tried, yes, for a higher price than what would be paid in a cheap restaurant. The good thing is that there are free peanuts for everyone, you can enter, take and leave.
C. K.
The food is always amazing when i visit five guys. I love the fries, they are the best in this country. The servers are hard working and courteous. The restuarant is a great size and very clean.
P. M.
As always delicious burgers, spicy chips, and peanut butter shake. What I like about this place is the basement seating area. There are two separate tables good for groups.
M. A.
Underrated mayo !
K. O.
Very busy, not bad but not the best either
S. N.
First time to try it the burger is pretty good I'd say similar to shakeshak's , the fries are terrible in my opinion though idk if its just me but i tried the fries twice they are really meh i prefer McDonald's fries for sure
O. K.
Burger and chips cannot go wrong with that definitely a happy chappy.
G. B.
Finally, after months I have finally made it to Five Guys in Covent Garden. For me, this place feels like an average diner, and the constant floor cleaning - in part necessary due to the free peanuts - really annoyed me and made the place remind me more of a McDonald's than anything else.
Their system is clever - let people order, and then let them wait after they have ordered. I was there on a Tuesday evening and it was not too busy, so I cannot really complain, at least I did not have to wait outside as is standard at some other popular places.
To the food, I must say that I do not understand the hype. They do an average or even a good burger, yes, a little bit thin and dry, but in my opinion, their offering is simply overpriced (and overhyped). The star for me were the skin-on rosemary chips - they could have been more crunchy, but the taste was great.
A funny feature, that might be kind of a unique selling point in London are the Coca Cola machines, where you can refill, and mix all kinds of drinks. But that is about it.
Not sure how soon I will be back, I know quite a few places where I can get a better burger in a nicer environment for the same price - or less. Oh, and a sign in the toilet that says "Employees must wash hands." is either not funny, or concerning.
J. S.
Would get 5 stars but it's a bit expensive. You do however get an amazing burger, excellent fries and the drinks are to die for. Service was efficient and just friendly and helpful. Excellent place to go for lunch or any time really.
M. L. F.
Five Guys have stuck to the limited selection of foods they offer in the States – you can have a burger or a hotdog with either plain or cajun spiced fries AND you can have as many toppings as you like for no extra charge. It’s worth noting that a standard Five Guys burger comes with two patties and if you’ve a smaller appetite then you should probably go for the Little Burger instead. My order was missed and they had to submit it back in to the conveyor belt of a system before I could dig in but in the end I was very much underwhelmed with their offerings.
P. K.
I really like 5 guys - the options to add toppings are just amazing. The spicy fries are good too and always handed out more than generously. In the future, I hope they will offer soya milk options for their milkshakes
R. J.
Great food, slightly expensive... be careful if allergies are an issue as food cooked in peanut oil.
E. H.
As an American living in London, I often miss the taste of home and 5 Guys gives me just that! The burgers are fresh and taste just like they do in the States,,,maybe even better! They portion on the fries (chips) is as generous here as they are at home and the drink machine that gives you over 100 combinations of soft drinks and unlimited refills and ice makes your trip to 5 Guys brilliant (as they say in the UK).
F. T.
A great chain for burgers, fries or a drink. They also have a toilet which is really handy in central London!
B. F.
Any Five Guys on Planet Earth gets five stars from me. What's not to love: bottomless Coca Cola freestyle drinks, mountains of fries, customisable burgers and, on top of this, this particular branch had a cool, breezy lower level and clean facilities.
B. R.
A true American import, from the free monkey nuts while you wait in the queue, to the huge portions. Be sure to order a small hamburger or cheeseburger - if you don't ask for small you get a huge double patty! Fries are huge, and they always through an extra handful into your bag - so share with friends. No freezers on site (everything fresh!) means no shakes or malts - but that's probably a fine compromise.
K. M.
Good burger quick friendly service
A. L.
Possibly the best burgers in the world
A. M.
Don't wait to taste Five guys not only for the famous all the way burger but for the best spicy french fries ever! Perfect location, fun staff, easy to ordre, good quality/price.
A. D.
When I came in here they were playing AC/DC music. The service was vertically instant was no wait which I was happy with.
C. B.
Best burgers in London I guess
C. N.
Great burgers and lovely milkshakes
A. B.
The food is fine, and not bad value. But I never understand the queues. It's a burger joint at the end of the day. They do seem to love themselves a little too much with all the posters up with their positive reviews.
C. W.
Great burgers and fries. Sadly fast food for a higher price than waiter service from Byron, GBK etc. It ought to be 30% cheaper......you would need to drink your bodyweight in coke to make it worth it. Shame, as the food is good, but then searching for a seat and having to move someone else's leftovers, just doesn't quite cut it.
Z. P. (.
Tasty fast food. Different to usual fries and a nice choice of drinks. Free peanuts but clearly close to use by date. Plenty of space, a bit loud but overall I like it :)
A. K.
Very expensive for the size of the food that they give you compared with your Burger King or Byron. However, if you're a fan of peanuts then you can fill the lack of food with unlimited peanuts. Best burgers I've tried in a long time.
A. C.
So far due to covid, majority of places - food/coffee places haven't opened. 5 guys is the only place in that vicinity where you can sit down to eat & toilets are available.
Food is still incredible!
A. G.
Quite nice place to get a burger. Nice selection and quite tasty. I also like their milkshakes. They also offer free American nuts.
C. F.
Despite hotdogs being taken off the menu, which is what I really wanted to order, I really did like Five Guys. As someone who always has to ask for toppings to be removed from my burgers, I found it refreshing to be able to build up my burger from scratch - and a delicious burger it was, too!
The cajun fries were full of flavour, though the portions are crazy-sized. Could definitely have shared a little portion between two.
K. H.
If you're looking for a small burger that you can pick up and scoff down whilst walking through Central London then I'd definitely point you in a different direction. I'd say the same thing to any burger "connoisseur" who scoffs at any burger that doesn't come in a brioche bun.
If however you have the time to sit down and want to really enjoy your burger then Five Guys is definitely somewhere you should consider. The burgers are substantial without being sickeningly big and the drinks dispenser made me feel like a wizard.
Only downfall would be the fries. They don't taste like signature fries and the peanut after taste (they're fried in peanut oil, so if you're allergic, steer clear) got slightly overbearing.
C. M. N.
Very tasty American-style burger. They certainly have a plus for their chips and all the juice flavours from which you can choose.
However, a bit pricy.
S. P.
Not only the burgers are amazing but also the people that are working there!
I accidentally forgot my backpack and no one would expect to find it in such a central point and crowded place. But the cleaning lady are all over the place and they found it and put it in their storage immediately. Thank you for that!😃
L. O.
Free peanuts! Others things, not so much. A little overpriced, but good quality. They have a separate milkshake bar and the salted caramel is pretty darn tasty. The shake alone has got to be like 1,000 calories though.
V. P.
If you are a meat eater you owe yourself to sample the pure heavenly delights at Five Guys, whether it is a hangover burger or a taste sensation this is the place for you. Don't be too greedy though, you won't need it! And make sure you sample the 100+ different kinds of soft drinks on offer, and you can mix and match with free refills. I love you Five Guys xx
S. R.
Best burgers ever 😋
E. C.
Forget McDonald's, go to Five Guys! They do a delicious veggie sandwich with grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, green peppers, lettuce, tomato (cheese is an optional extra). It is so good.
A. M.
American - style burgers have exploded in popularity. Five Guys strategy for quality ingredients and no extra charge for toppings is a welcome addition to the area.
The two nearby competitors are Shake Shack and Meat Market
W. S.
A must-try in London given the popularity of the place: the burgers are very tasty and so are the fries (prefer the cajun-spiced ones though).
Be aware that a typical hamburger or cheeseburger has 2 beef patties, so it would basically be called a double anywhere else. The quantity of fries is also huge so don't worry about sharing them ! Overall, the place, service and burgers are great, too bad the price is so high (basically the same price as many other burger "restaurants" in London)
R. A.
Meh. Don't see the fuss.
Can't comment on fries or the fancy coke machine as I only had a burger. But the patty itself is thin and fairly bland. And what's a burger joint without a decent burger?
One notch up from macdonalds but twice the price.
Won't be coming back as there are so many places in London serving truly delicious burgers in this price category.
This isn't one of them.
G. W.
The selection of burgers are minimal. – four choices such as hamburger and cheeseburger with bacon – but it's what in-between the bun and the meat that US-based Five Guys shines. An extensive list of toppings take most of your decision-making time. They're all free, and you can indeed make a tower of a burger – only cooked well-done. Choose the small size of Cajun fries, as the serving comes supersized. The advanced fountain drink machine offers a kid's dream in terms of choice. Just don't plan this place as a quick bite. The burger will give you jalapeno-and-grilled-onion lethargy.
E. T.
I like this place, a lot. However, the reason it's not 4 stars but 3, is because, I don't think its burger is all that good, and that's terrible for a burger joint which came over here all the way from the US!
If you like gadgety things, this place is great. It has the coke freestyle machine, which is widely available in the US but this machine is the first time I've seen one in the UK. What is a Coke freestyle machine, you cry? Well, it's a machine where you have lots of options to choose from, lots of cola drinks and flavours to choose from, and you can mix and match everything to your heart's desire, from Fanta to diet coke and vanilla coke and Raspberry this...to create either the best or worst drink ever. It's on tap by the way, so we are one step closer to matching the obesity crisis in the US!
You get free peanuts while you wait, this is not new, they have them in GBK too but I think they must go through more crates here than in GBK. Their peanuts are nice and fresh, and makes waiting that much less painful.
On the topic of waiting, you really shouldn't be waiting in the queue outside. The smart person would download the Five Guys UK app and order at least 10 minutes in advance (paying in advance), then casually stroll past the queue and go to the collection desk and query about your takeaway.
OK, the moment of truth is the food. There are bazillion and one choices about your burger. You can add sauces, tomatoes, lettuce etc to your heart's content, or leave them out. The portions are US portions so I would recommend that you practise saying the word "little" rather than normal here if you have a small (aka UK) stomach.
I gave this review 3 stars because the hype outlived the burger. It came in a foil wrap and by the time my party of 5 got our order, the burger/the bread seems to have shrunk a little under the heat. It was average tasting, but the feeling of eating a shrunk burger spoilt the experience.
I cannot fault their cajun fries however, this is the best bit about this place other than the Coke Freestyle machine. The fries are very very addictive, although sometimes they are on the dry side. I have taken to ordering fries here and getting my burger from elsewhere at lunch.
One last thing about their PR skills, I can say it was top notch. I actually queued for 1.5 hours here on the day of opening and then because my lunch time was over I had to give up. Their app was jammed by 1pm and you could not pre-order for takeaway using their mobile app.
It was frustrating standing in a queue that wasn't moving whilst people who pre-ordered at around 12pm keep walking straight in. I wrote an email to complain and they offered us a free meal, literally a limitless tab, which of course, was a great gesture and a great response to their faulty opening date on 4 July 2013.
Ok one last regret about this place, they do not have the secret menu like in the US, I wanted cheese fries! The Five Guys lady in the queue on the first day agreed with me, she also wanted cheese fries! Alas, they do not have it.
M. R.
Although the Byron-esque prices minus the table service might put some off I still find myself coming back to Five Guys again and again. The burgers are exceptionally tasty and being able to customise them however you want means it never has to be the same burger each time you go. Although they cook the burgers 'well done' which is a rarity nowadays they lose none of the flavour and the cajun fries are different and well worth a try.
