🍗 Taiwanese Fried Crispy Chicken Thigh 🍗
For the seasoning I went with garlic which was so nice 🧄 The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside 🤤 It was so so good! Can't wait to come back to try it again and more of their other menu as well 🥰 P.S. I already did 😄
I also tried their Hazelnut Milk Tea 🧋 Hazelnut taste was nowhere to be found unfortunately 🌰 It tasted just like a regular milk tea, which was nice but not what I though I was going to get 🤷♀️
I definitely recommend trying their chicken! It's perfect as a quick meal and you can find a seating area just around the corner 😊
P. Z.
This establishment was quite nice. It's only the second time in my life that I've had Taiwanese fried chicken, so I don't have anything to compare it to. My friend ordered the chicken with cheese stuffing. I was quite taken with what he ordered. Pretty delicious.
L. W.
very good for Snacks! the popcorn chicken with cheese flavour and garlic flavour was amazing. One of the best popcorn chicken I ever had. i can not wait to go there again. Best store in Chinatown in London. Highly recommended
L. R.
Tried their crispy chicken skin garlic flavor and chicken pops seaweed flavor! Tastes so good! We ate across two people and really enjoyed while eating they couldn’t stop themselves and asked where we got the chicken.
A. R.
Been here like 3 times. Popcorn chicken never disappoints. Always crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
Tried the one with cheese inside for the first time! So yummyy
M. R.
Great fried chicken with garlic and hot&spicy powder! Quick service and also there’s a lot in a small packet. Had enough to eat all the way travelling back to Belgium + it stayed crispy!
N. “. M.
I always get popcorn chicken and I'm never disappointed. So tasty.
Keep in mind they're always busy and popular and you have to go in, order what you want and then get out and wait outside.
L. S.
One of the best fried chicken in London, the price is a lot higher than normal fried chicken but worth it. Portions are good size. I love their volcano cheese chicken but it shouldn’t be eaten warm. Their fried octopus and squid are good too. Usually the waiting time is between 20 minute to 30 minutes. Today from the first time I didn’t have to wait at all and my food was ready on five minutes.
J. P.
A good day for fried chicken in London! Only had to wait about 15 minutes for two enormous pieces of fried, crunchy chicken breast with plum powder. Very moreish and juicy on the inside.
A. R.
This is one of the best fried chicken I've had in London. I've never tried anything like the Sweet Potato. It's all amazing. I recommend plum and garlic powder to be added to both. The food isn't cheap but for the quality of fried food you're getting it's well worth it.

SHORT REVIEW
The best chicken or chicken poppers I've ever tasted!
Still taste ok when chicken poppers are cold, but very tasty and delicious when eaten warm.
They also serve bubble tea as well, I tried the Caramel flavour, but I must say the taste did not taste like caramel.
Price is quite steep as the chicken poppers cost £6, though with a £11 meal deal I got two bags of chicken poppers with 2 bubble teas.
I would have given it 5 stars but because of the price. My wife came here many times back in 2018/2019 and she noticed they kept increasing the price for their chicken poppers, back then it was £4, today £6!
But why does the packaging logo have "The Chicken Shop"?
E. K.
Whr rather unsure what to order so we left it up to the staff. I think it was the chicken breast. For spice I think it was chilly and garlic 🧄. Incredible…The chicken was so worth the wait.
S. R.
Amazing tasting popcorn chicken. Love that you can choose your own toppings. Always get a portion when I'm in chinatown. There is a queue every time for the food, because the food is so good. Delicious every time!
A. T.
This is the place to go if you want fried chicken the size of your face! The queues you see outside are fully justified as their crispy fried chicken and addictive toppings keep you coming back for more.

After a twenty minute wait and £6.50 later I ended up getting 10 tiny tiny pieces of popcorn chicken.... was the chicken good? Yes. But 10 scraps of chicken isn't worth the price. Better chicken shops nearby
S. K.
Incredible! Been wanted to visit thus place for a couple of years now after seeing it all over the Internet and it didn't disappoint. Chicken was crispy yet moist and full of flavour . Very friendly and helpful service. Had a little wait but not to long and the price is abit high but you are in London so you pay the price
Ö. H.
I had cheese chicken and fries there. Both were tasty. We felt like we were in Taiwan.
Z. F.
The chicken is definitely crispy, tender and flavoursome. The waiting time was around 30 minutes (queuing and food prep). Gave 4 stars as I do think the pricing is quite cheeky.
C. R.
It was okay, I got the meal deal 2, which is a chicken breast (schnitzel) and 3 chicken strips, I don't know how it's considered a meal deal as it doesn't come with a side or drink, and was very over priced, I think just under £12.
The chicken strips were very thin and slim, I was disappointed, but the chicken breast was quite large as it has been flattened out, my choice of seasonings were garlic, chilli and numbing chilli, couldn't really taste any garlic, bit the chilli was noticeable.
Overall it was tasty but very overpriced.
M. H.
Excellent fried chicken! A little expensive but worth the pounds! Extra taste with the seasoning choices ( about 10!!). I recommend chicken n•1 with garlic and PLUM seasoning! It’s GOR—-GEOUS!!! Really!! Volcano cheesy chicken (n•2) would be another recommandation! A must try in Chinatown!
W. T.
Long Wait and irrational queue system. the chicken cutlet does taste legit and great, BUT the wait time can be absurd. Waited 25mins for it on an uncrowded afternoon. About 5 customers who came after me got their chicken cutlet earlier than me. I asked why and the staff just say mine was soon every time I asked, and I ordered a standard version. Sigh…
H. G.
Salt and pepper tofu is really nice £5 you got really decent portion and you can pick your own seasoning from over 10 options! Very swaaaag.
Gizard is very swaaaaag back to taiwan straight away looool if you are laowai then maybe u won't like it hehehhe
And taiwan is not China!bbbbn free China
Long live Roc!!!!

The chicken popcorn tasted good and was crispy; however, the staff rushes you into selecting and ordering. The shop must have a full menu outside the shop for people to choose before ordering. The moment we entered the shop we felt the urgency in the voice of the lady behind the till. We did not get enough time to have a look at the menu and the salts kept on display. Had to make a hasty choice and ended up ordering liver (which we absolutely hate). Overall, good fried chicken and an experience ruined by staff coz of the haste.
B. C.
Unassuming fried chicken shop in Lisle St. They have a range of options of fried chicken and also bubble tea. You order the chicken you want and then a flavoured powder to coat it with - so much choice! I had the popcorn chicken and the chicken skins, both delicious although the chicken skins were definitely too rich for me. Next time looking forward to the "volcanic" cheese-stuffed chicken breast!
T. R.
Awesome little place. One the best places to get fried chicken. Ordered the chicken breast, it was HUGE! SO TASTY!!! The place is situated in China Town. Took the the long way round on the tube. Easiest way, get off at Leicester Square station and its in the opposite road. The place is really small but always busy. They deep fry your chicken and then ask you what seasoning you want. Pepper, Chilli, Salt, Wasabi, Curry. If you're not sure ask them if you can try the flavours. The chicken breast is the most popular and cost £6 a can of tango orange was £1.50. To be fair, it was well worth it!! Awesome!! And above all else it was halal!!
T. S.
I’ve been to this place a few times - great fried chicken cooked fresh and with a huge choice of possible flavour combinations. You will have to experiment as the staff don’t really give any suggestions. Service is fairly quick but it can get busy.
The batter is nice and crispy and the chicken tender. The volcano cheesy chicken is a good one if you’re feeling indulgent!
F. O.
Lunch order delivered on time, good chicken strips and prawns, fries were cold though; pricey at £13 for meal deal, oddly no tissues in the bag
L. L.
Good tasty fried chicken breast. It's really big so if you're not too hungry, you can share between 2 people. It's fried fresh. Still juicy in the middle and crunchy outside. You can choose from a variety of flavours they sprinkle on like tomato, chilli, seaweed, salt and more. But I think for £6.50 a bit overpriced. Theey also have other fried chicken like popcorn chicken and bubble teas.
A. S. I.
The chicken wings are great! Get them. The squid is also delicious. The signature "30cm" Chicken Breast™ is actually kind of dry and not that great. That's why they lose a star. Get extra cheesy powder that's the best one.
K. M.
A must try!
Chicken popcorn is the best in town.
Would recommend chilli garlic seasoning.
A. L.
So damn tasty. Haha, can’t lie, the staff are not the politest, but being a chinese kid it doesn’t really bother me. The chicken makes up for it anyway. I usually get the chicken breast and since it’s so big, I split it with a friend. Also, I get them to choose the seasoning, and make sure that there’s plum powder and chilli in the mix somewhere. They know what they’re doing, that fried chicken is damn fine...
A. M.
Okay, so I didnt think fried chicken could get better but out how wrong. The selection of favourings turbo charge the taste and blow your mind.
Quick and tatsty. the staff have a great sense of humour too.
M. A.
It's £7.50 which is bloody pricey for fried chicken but it's some damn good chicken I tell you! 2 big pieces of thin chicken that will fill you up with ease.
M. H.
It's okay, if you want to eat something quick and the bubble tea is actually quite good. I was expecting similar fried chicken that I've had had in Taiwan, but it's just not nearly as good. The batter is flaky, the chicken isn't nice and moist, and the sweet potatoes weren't all cooked through and were simply in too big wedges.
M. D.
Wonderful fried chicken! It's a real step up from what you would normally expect from a fried chicken place. If you want something quick and hot this place is your go to. It's pretty much a take away affair though so if you want a sit down meal then this might not be right for you.
Here's my top tip: go for the crispy chicken skin! Honestly! Just trust me. Try it. It's Amazing. Try it and thank me later. It's seriously the best thing.
H. S.
Ordering system is a shambles especially when it gets busy. The food is decent but a little on the pricy side, even by central London standards.
We got a bag of chicken nuggets at £6.50 which were pretty good.
L. T.
Most of the chicken taste good but would not recommend the large drumsticks; they are quite bland once the skin comes off.
Y. M.
Was pretty good but my fried drumstick was quite cold hence the 4 stars. Will come back to try other foods in the future
T.
Really exceeded my expectations. Had the Chili and garlic and it was perfect. Waiting time was around 15 min but food was very fresh
A.
It's fried chicken, what more could you want!
I tried the popcorn chicken with the kimchi flavouring which I really liked. I would recommend getting a couple of different toppings (ranged from chilli, garlic, Thai style, kimchi, seaweed, lemon etc)
Also tried the sweet potator which was really good. Not too long a wait but dependent on queue size.
Was a little confused by the order numbering but it's on the receipt!
H. H.
Great fried chicken - lots of seasoning options available, and I love trying different things here. Normally a wait and it's somewhat disorganised, but worth the wait!
K. L.
This chicken was delicious! It was juicy and crispy and a generous serving - there’s two pieces in the bag. I also like that you can add any of the seasonings - I got chilli and seaweed which were so good!
(NB: minimum £10 for card payments)
N. K.
This place is worth all the wait and queues. Try a good range of sprinkles on the fried chicken! The cheese filled chicken is great too!
A. D.
The chicken breast is really tasty and not at all greasy. I also bought the drumsticks but the chicken breast is really the star of the show. It is on the pricey side but it is located in Central London.
I would definitely come back here again.
S. C.
The fried chicken was more expensive than regular fried chicken but it is quite different. The popcorn chicken definitely tasted better than KFC and the normal fried chicken tasted good. Worth a visit if you want to try something new! The place is small, normally has a queue and you have to eat outside.
T. B.
The Good
The best friend chicken in London. After trying everything on the menu, there isn't anything that isn't perfect. The chicken is juicy, full of flavour, and crispy. Seaweed, kimchi, plum, and lemon are just a few of the of the seasonings you're able to add. The combinations are endless meaning you can eat here after overnight in Piccadilly Circus.
The Bad
There isn't. Don't let other reviews slating the staff put you off they are working non stop in and from experience get some difficult customers in there.
I. S.
The fried chicken is amazing! Flattened chicken breast so succulent and freshly fried when ordered!
Flavour powders are used to enhance your chicken experience even further with my favourite combination of : cheese, chilli, and salt and pepper!
M. A.
Got the cheesy chicken was amazing and very warm
R. R.
The fried chicken was delicious and incredibly succulent. I was expecting a little more from the toppings.
S. A.
Good food for a great price value! Went to try the xxl chicken breast and popcorn chicken after a suggestion and it’s worth it. For about 6£ you’ll get a big slice of chicken breast and you can flavour it as you like. I suggest the chili flavour. Do try it! The workers are also nice and we waited for about 7mins. It’s a tiny shop so rather best to do takeaway.
A.
One for the best pieces of fried chicken I've ever had. We got the chicken nuggets and chicken drumsticks (2 pieces) and the portions were quite generous. They fry the squid and the chicken separately but do check. Highly recommend checking this place out.
N. N.
The chicken breast with garlic seasoning is incredibly tasty. I would definitely recommend.
R. K.
Fried and seasoned. I bought the deep fried squid and it was great, the squid was very soft to eat and it tasted great. I tried my friend’s popcorn chicken which was equally as tasty. The prices are okay considering the shop is in London.
A. G.
The chicken was good, but it would be better if instead of the powders they offer, I could get a sauce version..The people aren't the kindest in there but the chicken is fried nicely. The bubble tea was all milk, and could use more flavor, but wasn't bad.
A. W.
Not quite up to Taiwan’s standards but this is serviceable for London. Would avoid coming here for the bubble tea, it does not appear to be top notch
edit: popcorn chicken is good, chicken strips are not so good
Y. T.
Tasty chicken bites. The portion size was perfect for sharing with my partner as a snack.
There is a huge selection of menu items and seasonings, so there will always be a new combination to try.
It seemed that the chicken was cooked fresh to order!
D. K.
We’ve been going to Good Friend Chicken (好朋友) since 2014 - especially for late night food! It’s one of those places that you wouldn’t want to write a review for because it’s gone way too busy! I would particularly recommend the popcorn chicken and the fried sweet potatoes. The bubble tea is okay but there are much better choices on Newport Court.
M. S.
The popcorn chicken is a hit. You get to choose the different seasoning from 5spice, plum, cheese, garlic and few more.
V. H.
Amazing chicken in very large portions, so while it may seem pricy compared to your average chicken shop it's still good value. Plenty of topping options and more bubble tea choices than anything else on the menu! Staff are friendly and work exceptionally quickly given how busy it is.
Given its popularity, there is a queue. It does tend to move quickly however most people don't really move away from the door once they've ordered so it can feel quite crowded. There is a sign that displays order numbers to the street but people don't notice it and the queue blocks it too.
D. A.
Hot, fresh, delicious, juicy chicken. I've never heard of plum seasoning before in my life, but I'm glad had the opportunity to try. Forget kfc. Also try the fried lotus chips if you want change from potatoes, 2 thumbs up 👍🏾👍🏾
T. H.
Their boneless thighs are as juicy as a chicken can get. It’s amazing, tender and juicy. Love it
S. K.
Very good taste chicken, fresh breast, quite okay bubble tea and very well prepared chicken (freshly made). I like the seasoning with a bit chilli in it and the texture of the coating is also very good (chewy and crisp at the same time).
Will try another menu soon and will post picture with it (maybe tomorrow). It will be more even popular if they could put some more carbohydrate side dish menu as an optional lunch menu. But overall I am happy.
J. W.
Delicious and authentic Taiwanese fried chicken! With many seasoning to choose from!
T. A.
Ordered a variety of chicken - popcorn chicken, volcanic cheese chicken and the chicken strips with the garlic chilli flavoring. Portion sizes for all were very filling for all and pretty decent prices. The popcorn chicken wasn't particularly amazing but the other two were great! Crispy without feeling greasy and freshly fried.
M. H. T.
I ordered the popcorn chicken and the supreme boneless chicken, the first was amazing but the later was not as flavourful.
K. M.
Delicious chicken strips and sweet potato wedges! The sweet potato wedges were amazing they had a crispy batter on them which only elevated their greatness! This place accepts both cash and card! Thanks to tiktok popularity be prepared to queue! But its worth it!
T. B.
The best fried chicken you will ever put on your mouth..... forget Kentucky, Taiwan is the place for the most amazing chicken!
F. L.
I just ordered the crispy chicken breast with a selection of powders. The chicken was delicious but differed to my high expecations in two ways.
1) The batter is deliciously starchy, all the batter that is between the crisp outer layer and then meat is this amazing chewy texture.
2) The outer layer was not as crisp and the inside was not as juicy as I had expected. It is still very crispy and juicy but just not as extreme as other examples I have had. I benchmark perhaps to more on the bone style chicken. But I've definitely had moister breast. I guess you sacrifice moistness in order to have the amazing batter to meat ratio that you can only get with a flat shape.
I deduct a star for the following reasons. The patrons did not let me upgrade my chicken breast to a chicken breast + popcorn chicken option after ordering, which was really annoying to me and I wasn't offered any reason just no and told to go outside.
Also there's no salad or pickle option. Perhaps it is not traditionally served with Taiwanese fried chicken but I do appreciate something to cut through the rich chicken besides more fried food and bubble tea. I also wish the powders were a bit spicier.
M. W.
Do you like crispy fried chicken skin? No? Probably not your kinda place. If you do, this is the place, all about various bits of chicken coated and fried and seasoned generously with a selection of magical flavours! But seriously try the skin
K.
I had fried chicken strips with garlic seasoning and it was amazing. It’s very crispy on the outside and tender on the inside and very flavourful. I also had a lychee milk bubble tea which was great too! The prices are expensive in general but for the area(soho/Chinatown) the prices are average. I recommend 100%!
D. Q.
The fried chicken is just great. I love getting food from here. The bubble tea is different every time as I have no idea what is going on when I order it, but it is always delicious. Be prepared to look for a bench to nibble it as there is no space inside.
M. H.
Food is tasty... price not so good. For £6 (popcorn chicken) you dont really get alot to be honest. And you do have to wait 30min to receive the food on a Sunday. Other than that staff are freindly and patient and i would recommend the chilli and garlic topping. Bubble tea is nothing special.
M. J.
Great tasting food and quick service, well worth the price. Excellent to pickup a bite and walk around the area snacking on something.
F. C.
Really good fried chicken. I always get the bubble and chicken combo when I'm at Leicester square because the bubble tea actually taste on par with the other chain stores. In fact good friend used to be a bubble tea store before a few years back. Only thing is when I ordered it last time - a guy took my order and he seem to want to rip me off few extra pounds because people tend to just tap their cards and go without looking at the price. Being the cautious person I am, I check what I'm paying first and saw that he charged me extra (especially covid everyone is just tapping and going without checking) hence why minus a star.

2nd review 16th July 21- OMG why did I wait so long to return to this shop? Chicken is so tasty. Especially the new chicken drumstick. Amazing!!! 5 ⭐️s🤤
1st review (4 stars) - Very nice food. I had the deep fried chicken thigh with seaweed, plum and Thai seasoning.
The staff were welcoming as well.
Will return.
B. N.
Great fried popcorn chicken, but long and chaotic queue.
L. T.
Amazing!! Great street food, well priced, was impressed with portion sizes. Made a decent lunch to be fair, got to be on your list when visiting China Town. Deffo recommend the sweet potato and the popcorn chicken.
T. C.
Amazing tasting chicken! Get to choose your own flavours and if you get the chicken breast it comes in 2 massive pieces. Definitely worth the money!
All time favourite chicken shop!!
A. W.
Not quite up to Taiwan’s standards but this is serviceable for London. Would avoid coming here for the bubble tea, it does not appear to be top notch …

Before going home from school decided to get some chicken wings so yummy I love it

Always great tasting. Best Chicken Cottage franchise.

Share the chicken skins, it's a big portion 😉

A.
Best fried chicken ever. The batter is the best, the chicken is also freshly fried. The seasonings are large in range which helps diversify flavour. The pricing is pretty good although it is increasing slowly. Their bubble tea is also really nice, although I would not recommend the fruit teas compared to the milk teas.
J. B.
Delicious chicken. You can see they make it from fresh chicken, not frozen one!
R. D.
Ordered Garlic Popcorn chicken and Lychee tea from here and wasn’t disappointed, possibly one of the best little places in Chinatown
M. N.
I love the popcorn chicken here. Nice blend of chicken and crust. I ended up stopping by three times during my trip. Their boba is kinda bland but the tea was good. Overall, try the popcorn chicken. It’s awesome.
S. K.
This is the kind of fried chicken place I wish we had more of. Fried chicken made to order, really hot and crispy and covered in these really addictive seasonings. Service is friendly and fast and it's just a simple place. So worth a visit if you're in or around Chinatown, and the plum seasoning is like crack to me I swear. I dream about their popcorn chicken every night.
A. P.
Awesome fried chicken. Had the popcorn which is a good sized portion which small pieces of fried chicken dusted in a seasoning of your choice. Plenty other options on the menu which looked good too. To try next time. Good quick bite spot in Chinatown
Y. H. C.
Tried their Lotus Fries and XXL Chicken Chop are bangers, they taste exactly the same as the ones in Asia. Highly recommend if you're homesick or would just like a nice little Taiwanese snack, but brace your some not-so-friendly attitude from the cashier at the till.
ps the kiwi green tea is pretty good too, ask for less sugar though.
R. D.
We were walking past and were drawn in by the Lotus Stem crisps on display - It did not disappoint! I've never eaten lotus stem crisps before and these were simply delectable. You are given an option of 10 different seasonings, I went with the Garlic and Thai seasoning. Absolutely yummy- Cant wait to go back.
A. M.
My favourite fried chicken shop in the capital. Tasty Taiwanese, popcorn chicken is awesome, forget the stuff you get in KFC. Plum and chilli seasoning gets those taste buds wanting more. Only negative is the lack of seating and tired interior.
K. K.
One of the best chicken places I have been too. Just got chicken strips and sweet potato fries. Friend got cheesy chicken and popcorn chicken. Chicken in general is beautifully crispy golden. The sweet potato fries are big, fat, crispy and soft in the middle. The seasoning is just right and you can add more seasoning; cheese, plum, tomato, chilli. Would be back for some more in the near future!

Loved their chicken popcorn, different seasoning available, and their volcanic chicken stuffed with cheese sinful and yummy 👌
V. L.
Everytime I visit London, I always make sure to come here to eat because it is not available or not as good as the ones in my city.
I order chicken breast, which is not dry at all, freshly fried (hot) and big (6+ inches). Then add my favourite spicy powder boom! Just like the street food in Asia. However, it is pretty expensive for one piece, more than £7 but this prevents me from overconsumption I guess?
A.
My favourite chicken place in London! It serves the best, juiciest chicken with a huge selection of seasoning. The fact that it's always busy is a sign of how amazing it is. Can not recommend this place enough for delicious fresh fried chicken!
a.
Bubble tea is very good and the prices are very reasonable. I'd recommend coming here for that. Only complaint we have is the service. The woman at the till overcharged us around £3 and was extremely rude because of a very minor inconvenience that could have been easily dealt with. My order was also messed up the first time although I will say that the other woman, who was making the bubble tea, was very understanding and made me a whole new bubble tea that matched my order.
T. C.
Ordered volcano fried chicken. Had to wait more than 20 minutes and the staff served 4-5 cutomers who ordered after me.
The chicken tasted good, but £8 for the volcano fried chicken is very overpriced for what it is.
J. M.
The one place I keep recommending to everyone for fried chicken, a large portion at a decent price and best of all...the chicken breast is so juicy!! Any other place I'd opt for a leg but these people know exactly what they're doing. They also have a confusing collection of spices, I usually just ask them to make the chicken breast really spicy(be warned though as some of their spices are really potent)
S. P.
Good fried chicken, nothing else to say but you must try it.
S. T.
Look, I am not proud of my fried chicken love but you know in the name of research I had to go here. Simple and delicious is the way I would put it. Get a flattened chicken breast that is delightfully coated and crispy thanks to the cooking and choose what salt you want et voila! £6 for some delicious fried chicken? I'll take that.
N. M.
Super excellent. There are some clueless reviewers here complaining about the chicken breast being big or not cut up for them. Ignore them.
If you like your chicken juicy and delicious and aren't snobby about eating without a fork and knife, this place is excellent.
J. C.
Quick, delicious and friendly -the definition of fast food!
Taiwanese fried chicken joint with absolutely humongous chicken breasts.
All chicken products are battered and expertly fried, then sprinkled with a flavored powder of your choosing. Many options to choose from: chili, Thai, tomato, salt and pepper, wasabi etc etc.
There are other deep fried products also from squid, pawns, chicken skin, octopus and sweet potato.
Also serving bubble tea, if your in the area and fancy something other than the ubiquitous Chinese restaurants or just want a tasty snack you definitely can't go wrong!

AMAZING chicken with a variety of seasoning. A little bit costly but totally worth it. My boyfriend won't stop talking about going back to the place. They have a bunch of fried options like chicken (obviously), tofu, veggies, potatoes, chicken skin, etc.
J. W.
The chicken here is amazing! It is always good, they are always consistent. Price is reasonable, chicken tastes amazing and you can choose your flavour/seasoning. There is a new place down the road 'Monga' that just opened, do not go there, I tried it and their chicken was horrible, bland and soggy, and very overpriced. I will be sticking to Good Friend chicken!
A. K.
Some of the best friend chicken I have ever had. I would recommend the chicken thigh with plum and chill seasoning!!
A. S.
Taiwanese snack, deep fried small pieces of chicken with various topping/sauce options. Nothing extraordinary 🙄
E. L. C.
It is good and would mention to people as an option of where to get food in Chinatown, but not my favourite...not exactly worth the price. Expect to wait a while for your food as it is very popular, especially during weekends.
M. A.
Unbelievably yummy chicken. Plum fries were an unexpected pleasure.
T. T. o. R. L.
A nice surprise in China Town, London. Just stick to ordering the fried chicken steak, no other pieces taste as good there say as a good Popeye's chicken, but a good option for trying a different assortment of sprinkled spice toppings to try on a fried chicken steak to go. Surely, a must try in central London.
A. i.
the chicken is so good, the seasonings - get the seaweed, cheese, plum tomato - yumm. if you like spice, the thai seasoning.
they always check if the chicken is properly cooked, but dont order the bubble tea - eew
F. L.
Delicious fried to order chicken! They have a great and simple menu with a bunch of different flavour toppings for the chicken, my favourites include their pepper and curry seasonings. They also do super yummy sweet potatoe fries.
S. S.
The popcorn chicken is mindblowing, it's so, so so good, super crispy, not too heavy at all, and just delicious - so many seasonings available too, a fun place to try different combinations of flavours!
A. P.
It's fine, I just don't get all the hype... The chicken could be juicier. The sweetish batter has a good crunch and it sets off nicely against the salt & pepper (and tons of MSG).
At £6 a piece you pay a novelty premium for fried chicken.
N. A. M. S.
Oh my gosh! We went there last Sunday and bought two boneless breast fried chicken! They were unbelievably delicious 🤤
I didn’t take any pictures cause they were too good 😂
Loads of powdered flavours to choose from and they are HALAL!
W. G.
Love it! I recommend the popcorn chicken and fried sea food. You can choose your own seasoning on it. Really good Taiwanese snack place. Queue can be long at times. The chips were disappointing though.
A. N.
Really enjoyed it, it lived up to my expectations! Chicken was delicious and boba was great too. Be warned, there are almost no seats, but I ordered popcorn chicken and didn’t have any problems with standing :)
D. M.
Food is excellent. Portions are large for the price and everything we had off the menu was delicious, especially with the array of condiments they offer.
Actual restaurant space is cramped, lighting is fluorescent, and someone had left a bunch of de-skinned chicken on the little counter and left! Not a great place to take a meal, but I'll for sure be back for more chicken.
l.
Amazing chicken! The different selection of deep fried chicken or seafood coupled together with the different sprinkles options you can get make this place a must go for chicken lovers.
Look out for the sweet potatoes...they're huge!!!!
c. l.
Taiwanese style fried chicken with flavour shakers. It's good and I think lately they've been adding to the menu to give it some return custom value. It's good if you wanna try some taiwanese chicken.
S. S.
These guys usually make the best Taiwanese deep fried chicken breast. However, the last time I've been there, the 2 pieces that me and my girlfriend bought were extremely salty. This had never happened before and we've been there for quite a few times so far.
I believe that this happened because the owner of the business was not there. He needs to train his peow better.
p. k.
Love chicken skin.
A. H.
Looks can be deceiving - however a place that you must visit.
Granted at first it may seem intimidating, especially with the array of flavourings you can add to the chicken (for example plum, tomato, etc).
However once you've ordered you'll receive a ticket with your order number on the bottom.
From there your number will be called up and you'll be asked for any flavourings that you want added.
Personally I'd recommend the - Salt & pepper and plum.
K. L.
Very good fried chicken, some options can be a bit dry. Flavourings are amazing bit service can be a bit...brusque. Still, if you're after a quick snack, you'll be more than satisfied here
J. D.
Good, fresh and succulent chicken with a variety of dry seasonings to take the flavours to the next level. There is plenty of choice and it is a better alternative to many other chicken pages nearby.
I would recommend the cheesy volcano chicken.
H. C.
Tasty chicken and crunchy plum fries! I love that I can add flavour once cooked with different seasonings. Definitely check it out if you are in the area. Halal friendly.
k.
Good chicken staff rush you, waiting time is also long
a. R. L.
Great place for some fried chicken, the spot to go
a. h.
Was hesitant at first due to the price but I didn't regret it. A really big slice of chicken seasoned however you like it. The chicken was very tender and juicy. I will order one again soon.
L. R.
Hand sanitiser by entrance
One customer at a time
Staff are wearing gloves and masks
But it’s cash only... which seems to undo the good things they’ve implemented post lockdown. Strange!
The chicken is phenomenal though!
H. C.
Very tasty popcorn chicken. Had seaweed and cheese powders.
a.
If you do come here for anything, try the Volcanic Cheesy Chicken. It’s expensive (like the rest of the chicken) and takes a while to prepare but the oozing, molten cheese is amazing inside the juicy, crispy chicken. I’ve yet to try their bubble tea but friends have recommended it.
L. S.
Bought a boneless chicken thigh, which was lovely so went to buy some more. Decided on popcorn chicken and they sneakily decided to give me chicken which had been sitting there quite a while and had gone cold. So I was quite disappointed the second time round unfortunately.
A. S.
Amazing popcorn chicken, fresh fried and then a choice of like 10 different flavoured powders to sprinkle on. Very crispy and good fried chicken and good value for money!
M. S.
Pleasantly surprised by the quality of chicken.one XXL piece is e ought for two ppl esp if you make ithot by adding chilli.
There is not enough seating but the chicken is good enough to travel and eat right outside.
I would definitely try the chicken again with these toppings. Lemon and salt n pepper. I can you need spicy add only a bit of chilli. Tomato and cheese powder are too over powering so add at your own risk. Best to try a bit on hand. Lemon and salt n pepper are the basic you need to go with.
By the way plum powder is really great too.
If you find my post helpful please like it and give it a thumbs up. Helps me carry on !!!
J. C.
One of the best things I've ever put in my mouth
M. W.
Delicious chicken, but pricey.
C. J. T.
Yummy, finally found my way here, had chicken wings, prawns and plum chips. All good, just enough between two. Staff friendly despite what other reviews have said. Pitched up on a stool and chatted whilst eating. I'll be back!
J. L.
Taiwanese-style fried chicken is the best. The main attraction is essentially giant chicken schnitzels coated in a batter with plenty of umami.
I also thoroughly recommend the popcorn chicken and deep fried chicken skin.
M. J.
VERY tasty chicken.
My first time here - got popcorn chicken with plum seasoning.
G. F.
Amazing juicy fried chicken. Good portion size, many different seasoning to suit your taste. Always find myself grab one when I pop into Chinatown
H. F. R.
Another tiktok hyped place. Nice food but it literally is fried popcorn chicken.. sold in most shops. Expect queues always.
r. d.
Saw from tik tok and was definitely worth the hype. Even though there is a long wait , food was amazing , would go again
A. C.
Amazing portion sizes, with an array of flavours that can be added like Curry and Thai or just plain salt and pepper. Was very hot when served. Definitely recommended.
d. w.
Never had it before but would go again. Had chicken fillets with seaweed and loved it. Don't be put off by the queues as service is very quick if somewhat chaotic.
S. T.
Be careful of the chicken breast. I took a hard bite and some burning oil went up my right nostril which left me crying for 2 minutes.
Otherwise good tasty chicken with a wide selection of seasoning.
G.
Oof, really good fried chicken. Lots of flavour shakers to add on top. Everything is deep fried so it's not healthy but yeah, really tasty...
N. S.
by far the best fried anything! the popcorn chicken and crispy squid are delicious! i recommend having your food sprinkled with the seaweed and plum seasonings - YUM!
M. A.
Share the chicken skins, it's a big portion 😉
A. M.
Amazing value for money and a good selection of Taiwanese fried chicken. My only problem is that they oversalted our food massively (but the salt is only added at the end, so you can always ask for less)
D. K.
The perfect Taiwanese comfort found right here in London!
A. J.
Good but not outstanding fried chicken place with a plethora of spice options. Represents decent value for money. Don't expect a seat - it's very cramped and best suited for takeaway.
P. L.
Tiny Taiwanese fried chicken shop, which sells chicken, but it's oh so tasty. The deep fried chicken skin and the deep fried tofu are my faves but it's well worth taking the time to try everything out 😂
r. t.
Best korean chicken I have ever had. Option 1 is the best and money worth offer. I travel over an hour to get the chicken alone from here, no where else!!!
G. M.
Absolutely love this place. Best Taiwanese fried chicken in London!
W. Y.
Good simple Taiwanese fried chicken. Perfect for a bite on the ho. Have varieties of flavoured powders to choose from. Price is also reasonable.
L. W.
Authentic Taiwanese style fried chicken.
a. b.
I was born and raised in China, but I have to admit that I had the BEST fried chicken here in London. Very authentic Taiwan Fried Chicken. I'm so gonna miss it when I'm back to China.
E.
Lovely staff and amazing food. I often crave the fried sweet potato from there. The bubble tea is really good as well. Cute small place!
E. L.
Lovely staff and amazing food. I often crave the fried sweet potato from there. The bubble tea is really good as well. Cute small place!
M. I.
Amazing place. Been meaning to go here for years. I definitely recommend getting their friend chicken skin.
J. C.
Decently priced and tasty, best fried chicken in China Town. If you spend £10 or more in cash then you get to choose a free can of soda.
A. A.
I tried the popcorn chicken and the fried chicken. I let them pick which seasoning. A combination of tomato, cheese, and garlic on one was excellent.
It was very busy, but fast service.
L. E.
As close to the real Taiwanese zhajipai (炸雞排)as you can get in London and better value for money than other places in the area selling Taiwan-night-market-style fried chicken.
S. L.
Having been a loyal customer here for years. Never been disappointed. Always friendly staff and generous portion. Perfect bit size fried snacks and bubble teas. Highly recommended!
A. G.
Very good value for money
The chicken breast was juicy and tender
Very nice and light coating of the fried chicken
Like the choice you have of the toppings
Hygiene could be better
Very rude staff
M. A.
would come to london just for this. Incredible food
A. T.
Quick fast food, really good fried chicken (best I've had), great other options (including the bubble tea). Price is very acceptable for what you're getting.
C. W.
Before going home from school decided to get some chicken wings so yummy I love it
D. W.
Great seasoning and breading on both the popcorn chicken the chicken breast fillet. You may have to wait a while for your order to come through though.
R. D.
This place is amazing!
Went into here after a night out near china town and wondered in.
The food quality is very very good and you get to choose youre seasonings.
Staff was also very friendly and helped as I was unsure about what to get.
S. S.
Chicken breast crispy hot and fresh? CHECK!
Bubble tea cool and refreshing? CHECK!
I recommend going again. Staff is friendly and service is quick.
A. P.
Lovely fried chicken 🍗 but we had to wait 40 min to get our order
D. K.
Seems to have gone downhill over the years. Good fried chicken but doesn't have as much flavour as it used to.
C. S.
chicken was very nice but I waited for over an hour to be served. definitely dampened the experience.
G. L.
Top quality chicken, lovely food, super busy though.
R.
Large portion, really flavourful, wasn't too spicy
J. L.
Taiwanese snacks - almost tastes as good as it is back home.
D. P.
Love this place so much, the plum powder on the popcorn chicken is one of the best. Don't get me started on the chicken slab, simply amazing and worth the price
J.
The food is worth the really long wait. My only complaint is that I always wish I ordered more chicken
A. M.
My favourite fried chicken shop in the capital. Tasty Taiwanese, popcorn chicken is awesome, forget the stuff you get in KFC. Plum and chilli seasoning gets those taste buds wanting more. Only negative is the lack of seating and tired interior.
L. S.
Bought a boneless chicken thigh, which was lovely so went to buy some more. Decided on popcorn chicken and they sneakily decided to give me chicken which had been sitting there quite a while and had gone cold. So I was quite disappointed the second time round unfortunately.
C. M.
Great tea and Chicken 😘
N. A. M. S.
Oh my gosh! We went there last Sunday and bought two boneless breast fried chicken! They were unbelievably delicious 🤤
I didn’t take any pictures cause they were too good 😂
Loads of powdered flavours to choose from and they are HALAL!
F. L.
Delicious fried to order chicken! They have a great and simple menu with a bunch of different flavour toppings for the chicken, my favourites include their pepper and curry seasonings. They also do super yummy sweet potatoe fries.
A. W.
My go to guilty pleasure. Garlic seasoning is great, if you like spicy food, go for chili
C. J. T.
Yummy, finally found my way here, had chicken wings, prawns and plum chips. All good, just enough between two. Staff friendly despite what other reviews have said. Pitched up on a stool and chatted whilst eating. I'll be back!
B. D.
So tasty! Bit of a wait but you get a good portion for the price. Will definitely be coming back.
N. S.
by far the best fried anything! the popcorn chicken and crispy squid are delicious! i recommend having your food sprinkled with the seaweed and plum seasonings - YUM!
E. S. M.
The fried chicken breast is the best with spices along with bubble tea. Best combo ever !
D. Z.
The fried chicken breast is my favourite especially with chilli powder, also recommend plum powder or seaweed powder for those who can’t eat spicy!
S. M.
8.50 for tasty chicken breast and bubble tea. Not bad for central London considering the tea could cost 4 quid alone elsewhere
m.
Best popcorn chicken on the planet
A. I.
Popcorn chicken, I love you as much as a man can love fried chicken. £10 minimum spend for card is a bit annoying. At least put a sign up.
T. F.
Thank you, it's delicious
S. M.
Loving the squid and prawns. Plum chips too. Can't speak for the chicken options they offer but they do tasty tasty fast food
S. H.
Love the chicken, that's all I have to say, its always so busy which is a good sign for a place to eat. Always go whenever I'm in the area
S.
Recommend the popcorn chicken with garlic and chilli sauce.
H. H. L.
Their fried chicken is perfect!
L.
Delicious chicken - exceptionally crisp, tender inside and tasty flavours to choose from. Really friendly and helpful service too
S. N. F. B. A.
Best HALAL fried chicken. Hands down to the seaweed seasoning!
L. W.
Great Taiwanese fried chicken, please try the Thai seasoning with your snack!
J. M.
Long queue.... Worth the wait. The chicken are just juicy and flavourful
Z. H.
Delicious. Too many people know of this place now and there are always queues. I found it first, let me have it.
L. C.
The popcorn chicken was juicy in the middle and perfectly crunchy on the outside!
d. t.
I love stopping here a cheeky crispy fried chicken breast, if I'm not quite satisfied after eating in Chinatown 😋
G. P.
Super tasty fried chicken skin and popcorn - get it with chilli/wasabi and plum seasoning. I've had the squid once and it was a letdown.
L. S.
Didn’t feel very clean, to be honest. We asked for the popcorn chicken, it was okay, but very very very dry!
A. W.
My go to guilty pleasure. Garlic seasoning is great, if you like spicy food, go for chili
Z. Y.
Great crispy chicken. It is good just because it is the most easily available one in central London-if you understand what I mean.
I. A.
Took 4-6 to get your order done. The fried squid with seaweed flavor is delicious walaupun kurang mecin :))
N. P.
Excellent Chinese fried chicken. Get the popcorn chicken and the chicken breast, plum or spicy numbing chilli seasoning. A killer dinner.
E. S. M.
The fried chicken breast is the best with spices along with bubble tea. Best combo ever !
M. M.
Never leave Chinatown without devouring their chicken fried goods! Love this place. Yummy, generous portion of chicken.
J.
Amazing chicken. Slight queue (due to popularity) that's well managed.
S. C.
Chicken is very tender and cheap but for me lacking in a little flavour, which is a shame cos I had the big breast which was both soft and crispy.
E. S.
One of the best chicken popcorn I’ve had, great money for value and made on the spot. Perhaps a little less salt seasoning for me next time.
T. M.
Best fried chicken in London for sure
h. l.
Fried chicken, bubble tea what's not to like!?! I have to go again to try out the different sauces/flavours! :-)
P. B.
Amazing fried chicken. I had mine with Plum and chilli coatings. Perfectly crisp and grease free
B. D.
So tasty! Bit of a wait but you get a good portion for the price. Will definitely be coming back.
S. G.
Very nice fried chicken. Very juicy. I would say it's better than KFC
L. Z.
Crispy chicken breast is good and the strawberry green tea is really nice!! Win win.
L. V.
Really good chicken. They’re always busy and it’s made to order so may be a bit of a wait.
S. F. T.
I recommend the plum seasoning on your chicken. Absolutely delicious.
S. R.
Big piece of chicken and big pieces sweet potato. Excellent herbs and spices selection. Seating is limited.
k. a. (.
Great crispy squid. This is take out only though so be warned. Fast service and flavoursome food.
f. s.
One of the best bubble tea I have ever had. They sell various tasty snacks too.
J. K.
Lovely spot for a tasty chicken to go. I was happy to see a local alternative to KFC and this one does the job.
I. T.
Authentic Taiwanese friend chicken. The taste is pretty spot on!
W. K.
Crispy batter, juicy and flavourful fried chicken! :) Only downside is the limited space and seating.
G.
The best Taiwanese fried chicken in London
🇹🇼+🍗=☺️
S. N.
Fresh milk tea is really awesome! No other bubble tea shop in china town can compete to Good Friend😍
E. M.
The best fried chicken takeout in Central London. Quick, cheap and sooo tasty.
M. F. L.
Really good fried chicken. Get the XXL one. Volcano cheese was good but a bit too chunky.
S. H.
It was basically unseasoned fried chicken with then some flavoured salt sprinkled on top; so the real winner here is the salt, some real good salt :)
a. s.
My favorit food chiken crispy skin & chiken crispy gizard very delicious😘
C. M.
Just about the best fried chicken place in London. Not the best but it's in the top 10...
S. N.
Loved the chicken popcorn and the sauce, best when served hot, halal place in london
b. h.
My fave little fried chicken shop in the UK. Fairly cheap for London as well.
J. T.
The drumsticks we're too salty. Prawns and quail eggs we're good. Go for the spicy flavored salt!
M. G.
Great little stop off spot on the fringes of Chinatown for a quick and fulfilling snack. Go spicy for the best flavour!
F. k.
Good deep fried chicken with great seasoning options. Busy but fast service
A. J.
amazing fried chicken!, unlike other places. Also good bubble tea!
H. H.
Absolutely disgusting. You should not eat here. The food is so delicious that nothing else will ever taste the same. Should be banned.

y. y.
Yummy fried chicken! The milk tea is also good. I also like the fried sweet potato.
T. J.
Quite like this place, but expensive for what it is. Also, they don't take cards for a spend less than £10 which is quite inconvenient
S. Z.
The fried chicken is nice but won’t recommend the lotus root.
M. C.
Nice chicken, very large portion's for the price. Must try!.
