Reviews of Great British Fish and Chips

Went during a very busy lunchtime during half term. The place was rammed! The wait was short and the food was hot and tasty. Decent value for the money. The staff were absolutely rushed off their feet but all were very polite and attentive. The tables and chairs were constantly being cleaned and the place was very clean considering how busy they were.

Went here whilst on a weekend away. Paid £22 for A chicken box, a hot dog and chips and 2 drinks.
The quality of the food was okay. Chips were fresh but the chicken was a little dry and the hot dog bun was crunchy at the end but soft in the middle which was a bit peculiar to my partner.
The service was good, very polite staff and helped if we had any questions
A. F.
I took fish and chips
It was tasty
Halal food available here
C. W.
Well organized and friendly staffs. There are takeaways and service guides to table, but You have to order by yourself by front desk. Very good and fresh fish and chips, and spicy chicken. 😋But the the black coffee was Not good at all, so don’t drink black coffee there🤨

Tried two things. Fish and chips and chicken nuggets. We both were tired so had to stop over on empty belly. The location is almost perfect, inside seating is less than average. The food i would rate about 6.5 to 7. The fish was okayish but thenchecken was better. The chicken portion was far less than the portion of fish. It is a good alternative to many other things. BUT the cost vs value is where it lacks a lot. Nothing special to say. Costed twice than some other places on thames. Wont recommend this unless you are really tired and just want to eat anything. Anyways just finished and going home.

Quick, easy and tasty. The fried chicken drumstick was really good and the staff were all friendly, especially the man on the door who was very kind to our daughter.

Fresh Cod and delicious chips made to a high standard

unlike other reviews, I really liked this place. I noticed some of employees taking the orders are not the nicest, but I did get an ok one, could improve on their customer relations. the guy in the kitchen (maybe one of the managers) was nice though and posed in a picture I took hahah! chicken was good. it was pricey but hey, what will you expect in the area? when you go to these popular areas, you should already know it will be pricey. :) but our experience was awesome! look at the pictures, my mom even posed for a photo op with the sign. lol

I’ve been here many times over the last 2 years. It’s got quality food, quality service and at good prices for central London. It’s usually quite busy but that’s a good thing! You can eat in or take away and it’s very friendly to all. This is a regular spot for me and my mum to enjoy a meal whilst watching out at the Thames whilst indoors. The service is always brilliant from Paul outside who’s dressed up in a uk outfit handing out leaflets for 10% off your order. Always a joyful face. However I do believe he’s a weekday worker.
You then get a great welcome from the indoors entrance someone usually greets you. Asks whether you’ll be eating in in which they send you to the next employee who helps you find the best seating possible. (Great help as my mum has a walking stick). Moving chairs and tables around if needed. Or take away which you just get shown straight to the ordering counter. The food is always fresh and the people behind the counter are always on point and hard working. They serve as you order so your food is ready and hot. Nice good selection of foods and drinks.
Once your seatings arranged you can make your way to the counter and order but same things as above. Same queue as everyone else. The workers in this place work hard! They are very helpful when you need cleaning or additional assistance to enjoy your time here.
It’s a colourful place. Decorated well. Small restaurant but fits a nice crowd. Chairs are plastic no cushions. They are ok.
I’ve heard customer say it’s expensive. It’s central London at the Thames. Westminster across from Big Ben. A tourist and family hotspot. It’s prices match it’s area! I live up northwest London near Wembley stadium. The prices are very similar.
Now the only downside is toilets. You use main building toilets and it’s a narrow steep set of stairs. My recommendation go to the ticket office round the corner and use their before or after your visit. (Exit place go right).
Apart from that I give the place 9/10. :-)

Great first time here. The staff were pleasant and welcoming and really helpful and the food we ordered was seriously so good. Had the chicken wings and chips. If you're in town for the london eye, sea life or london dungeons deffo go check this place out.
C. B.
Lovely food. Only had chips but they was cooked perfect or as del boy would say "lovely jubbly". Such lovely staff. A little over priced but other than that 5 star's all the way. Didn't take pic's of the chips unfortunately but did of the artwork.
S. S.
located at touristic spot near London eye, one prime reason for the crowd. Wasnt great spot to experience the British fish and chips, but if hungry it serves the purpose.
S. C.
Authentic British Cuisine. I am an Australian and it was a pure delight dining here along the Thames, being waited on by employees in full Union Jack Suits. 100% Joyous occasion.
G. J.
We arrived as they were about to close for the night, was served by a very helpful person who made sure whatever we ordered was available even if making something up quickly. The food was amazing, excellent quality and hot. Great food, great service.... 5 star.... Will definitely be back.
J. D.
Place was absolutely delicious and presented beautifully!!! Unfortunately what let it down was tables was all so close to other customers so was literally bumping elbows with the people next to you, and the prices was a tad to high for my liking but that's just me, other then that absolutely fantastic place
F. H.
Paid £10.35 for burger and chips and a drink- with 10% off. Burger was dry and chips were dry too. Had nicer burgers and chips for a lot cheaper. Service was quick though
L. S.
For £11 the fish and chips wasn't worth it I spent £30 ×2 fish and chips and ×2 milkshakes £4 each. 1. There wasn't enough chips the fish. It was one long piece of fish with a handful of chips. 2. The milkshakes weren't filling we had to go somewhere else to eat more food. 3. City of London or not these prices were/are ridiculous £11 for one long piece of cod then £4 For a milkshake that doesn't fill you up.
m. r.
Very nice hot and fresh food. Loved it very much.
S. M.
Came here tonight with my children and disabled son. The man behind the counter was extremely kind to him and my other children and gave us ice creams. What a lovely man ! Thank you so much what a lovely place and the chips were amazing.
K. N.
Not bad but for this price it should be better ,the place was clean and organised
A. C.
Crowd pleaser particularly for families. Service was quick and efficient, whilst still friendly. Price is higher than your average local chippy but it's what you come to expect when placed right next to the London eye.
D. P.
What a gem by the river sat eating my meal so relaxing best chips ever had the chicken it looked so good staff so friendly and and the food is a good price .down the river the hot dogs were 8 pound rip off youbwant good food at a great price dont walk by walk in
J. A.
Such a great dish and chips. But be ready to empty your pockets because basic one will going to cost you 17£ atleast. But can try for one time as it is a great experience. Do not if it is the oldest and most authentic one but do try it out. For sure you also get a great view with delicious fish and chips.
R. C.
Best fish n chips in town.n quick service too...Amazed with the speed of service..
R. J.
Good fish and chips. Was it authentic? I'm not sure, but it was pleasing. Right by the London Eye.
R. G.
Food was okay very pricy for dry fish and no taste to chips. Did it fill a hole yes. Would I come back again not a chance
A. T.
It's a tourist trap. There's no other way of putting it. The food is okay but far too overpriced. A note to tourists: no real fish and chip shop will ever call itself authentic. If you want a good chippy consider leaving zone 1.
W. E.
3 adults and 2 children, meal was tasty, freshly cooked however chicken burgers very basic, bun, coated chicken breast, a very small amount of mayo and lettuce, not sure it was worth the money, but as I dont actually live in London just a day trip, found that all refreshments very expensive
A. B.
It's okish ! I wouldn't say the best. It certainly is on the centre of touristy area so they are busy but good is not that great to be honest. Eating there is like come in eat quick and leave. Entrance at times is full of drunks and people on floor at night but may be that is just London. It was raining so i stopped for a grub but didn't like it really.
Staff is good at maintaining the cleanliness of tables and chairs.
K. 1.
The fish and chips are quite good for a tourist spot
J. B.
Exactly how fish and chips should be! No newspaper wrapping, but so delicious. Then you can sit on a bench, or the grass, near the London Eye alongside the Thames to enjoy it. A memorable meal.
A. S.
Great price and great place.. The most important is its halal.. But its quite pack..
M. M.
Nice food tho bit pricey. But still tasted good. Makes a change I guess from Mac d's or the other restaurants around.
Great for a quick bite to eat if your coming to see all the iconic sites around. Like big Ben. London Eye. Royal Festival hall.
Staff were nice. Did get a table but we were lucky. As it does get busy.
Nice artwork inside on the walls. Pictures of the iconic London landmarks. Great views out of the window too.
Definitely worth trying if you want something quick or different from burgers or sit down fancy restaurant.
Thanks
Mac.
T. B. E.
We had the fish and.chips, chicken and chips, and chicken sandwich. All tasted delicious to our American tastes buds (if you like thick fries). Service was efficient and friendly. Liked that they found us seats so we didn’t have to navigate the awkward need to share a table where others are already sitting.
M.
Greatly surprised by the quality of the fish and chips here. We needed somewhere to eat quickly and close to County Hall. This fit the bill. Service was super quick and we were shown to a newly cleaned table.
Staff are efficient. Only negative is the lack of proper cutlery. The plastic knife & fork weren't great - nor good for the environment as they weren't recycled.
A. F.
Superb fish and chips and very fast service
R. B.
Just a good serve of chips and a milkshake for us totalling £7.50...no comainst about the quality... The main reason I write this review is because the of excellent customer service... very friendly and helpful staff
J. M.
We were looking for fish and chips and we found this gem next to the London Eye! We ordered and the food and it was ready super quick, my boyfriend had fish and chips while I had chicken and chips. Both were really good! I recommend you getting the strawberry slushy with it! Loved how the staff was so welcoming. We will be coming back!
A. M.
Good relation quality/price. Nice service and clean local.
L. W.
Visited here whilst waiting for our time slot on the London Eye, would certainly recommend, the staff are very friendly and helpful especially the male that came over to check my daughter was okay after her fall off the chair, very polite and especially in these particular circumstances where a lot of people are to scared to interact with their customers, to me their customer service was spot on and on that alone deserves the 5 stars, thank you if I’m ever that way again I will be sure to pop in!
e. R.
One of the best restaurant in London it was an amazing experience,i will go there again and bring my whole family next time.
The lady in the middle(HAYAT) was so adorable and kind she was in control and very polite with a big smile and seems happy to help her customers and make them happy
The food was tasty and amazing, i have never tasted a fresh fish and chips until i went there
Thank you to all the staff and members🤩
E. K.
Came from north london with the Mrs to take our little man to see big ben and london eye came here felt pekish proper oldskool fish and chips freshly fried while we waited no bad oil smell cod was really nice chips were yellow not brown respect to the owner takes pride in his work thanks
C. C.
I've never eaten a fish and chips so good, very fresh and delicious!
A. S.
Great fish and chips! Affordable prices
J.
Given it was right next to London Eye, one can expect high prices. Quality was fine. Do not purchase the curry sauce for the additional money - not worth it, in fact it tasted bad.
M. O. R.
Some food items were halal. Food quality was not up to the mark. Food items were a bit too expensive. Quantity was less. Hotdog didn’t taste good;we told them to exchange hotdog for chicken nuggets. They did it. Good service and halal food makes this restaurant deserve at least 3 stars.
C. F.
Ideal location, round the corner from the premier inn. If you are walking up the bank, and are hungry then it will do.
Food is basic, basic menu only 10 items to choose from, bit expensive for what it is. Found bones in my fish. With it being london, there is always somewhere else within a 5 min walk.
A. B.
We ate there as a family on tuesday 14th july tea time it was lovely clean and great decor the staff were very friendly and doing a fab job , the 3 of us all loved our meals and the 3 empty plates proved it , food was hot and very tasty and the ice cream cones we took away were the best we had ever had ice cream was sooo lovely will be back next time we vist london
R. A.
So its not great food, but its good enough to eat. The chicken burger was edible but i probably wouldnt go back to this place. The staff was quite lovely though!
J. H.
Nice atmosphere, very overpriced compared to what we pay in our home town and quality not as good as we get in our home town either but food was still nice. Staff are lovely and very accommodating. Overall we enjoyed our visit here was just shocked by the price.
D. G.
Food was ok, person at the till was a bit rude. Other staff very friendly, Style was awesome, very kitchy. A fun stop on vacation. Just remember all fish and chips is different some ok, some great.
B. P.
Fresh and yummy. They also have some chicken items
H. A.
The fish and chips was really delicious. The place was crowded however it was really great organised, you don't have to wait long on the queue. Also there is takeaway if you want.
m. p.
23rd January we had our lunchtime meal here large large Cod and chips and yes we did like it very much value for money large eating area ample table's friendly polite staff worth going and will be going again very soon ***** Mike and Sheila
A.
fried fish and chips ... in London it is to be taken at least once.
restaurant made for tourists, large portions and cheap.
to avoid some foods ( würstel/ frankfurters/ hotdog ) because very low quality.
OK for the chicken, fish, chips
M. Z.
Food is ok (like in any other cheap chip shop) but well overpriced. No kids meals. Guy at the door had a great suit but he was not so friendly.
T. f. L.
Lovely Cod AND lovely chips.
m. R.
Lovely food and amazing staff....well done 🌹🌹
A. M.
Very friendly staff, quick & efficient service, food tastes great ! Air conditioning is a big advantage in summers. There are clean restrooms in the basement of same building.

C. M.
We went a few years ago and the fish and chips were quite good. Good size portions.
J. S.
Decent fried fish. Couldn’t care for the fries to be honest. Very nice staff and they do a good job with crowd controlling the large amounts of people that come in.
S. S.
Quality with quantity. Tasty food 5 stars all the way.
M. R. T.
Decent food at high price.
G. B.
Really good fish and chips in a great location! It was a little bit pricey, but that's probably because it's a tourist hotspot.
T. R.
Expensive for what it is but today everything is half price and the manager the guy with hat got very good, welcoming customer service I think today your getting five stars from us.
S. V.
Quick service, great staff and services but if you are visiting here during the rush hours you will feel suffocated from crowd and bad order. I food they serve is quick and tasty.
M. I.

B. G.
Unfortunately not the best choice.. I was really looking forward to get good fish&chips, but I ended up quite disappointed..
M. L.
Had dinner here. Average food and expensive to boot. The good things were the service and views of the River Thames
S. M.
Really good food here. Good sized portion and always hot and fresh cooked
M. R.
Good food, menu is typical of any fast food outlet. Good news for those looking for Halal food. Entire menu is halal.
G. P.
Bog stardard mass produced food. Handy if you need hot food on a cold day and prices aren't bad for being central London.
Y.
I didn't order something but I ate the food of my friend while he was on toilet, don't tell anybody, you didn't see anything.
I. M.
The staff are friendly and the food that you request is ready within few seconds when you ordered also the best food shop in town
k.

S. G.
It was ok
S. D.
Food was good. Quite expensive for what your getting. Customer service wasn't very good.
A. S.
Overpriced, as you would expect for the location. Food is alright and service is very fast. It is a fast food place not a restaurant
