Brunch at Guanabana Restaurant in Camden was an amazing dining experience. The food was amazing. From portions to the cost of food, all tied in well. The one thing I have never experienced is being able to take your own drinks too the venue. They serve their own drinks from juice to smoothies. If you love seasoned food or explosive flavours in your mouth then this is the place for you.

The food, service and vibe at Guanabana cannot be faulted. Friendly attentive staff and the tastiest food I have had for so long. Will definitely be going back to try the breakfast. I had the mandem burger which consists of a jerk chicken patty which was so tasty. My sisters had the boneless jerk chicken meal which was so tender and juicy and the smash burger which was so flavourful. The drinks were also delicious. We had the virgin mojitos which were ace. Cannot recommend this place enough. A must visit!

We booked for a big group (25 of us in the end) and I appreciated the patience of the staff as the number of people coming kept on changing. On Mondays the restaurant do not charge corkage which was really appreciated. But most importantly the food was soo delicious, with generous portions. Everyone enjoyed their meals and despite being such a big group everything came out hot and delicious in a timely manner. Thank you so much for a great night! I will be back again

Came here last night with my boyfriend and absolutely loved it! My first time trying oxtail and it was great! also 10/10 service! maya was very attentive and sweet! Her energy was amazing the whole time! one thing i can suggest is to maybe add more waiters in each section? the back of the restaurant was very busy yet she was the only one taking care of the section at the time and i could see she was stressing a little , but even then she gave great service and made sure we were having a great experience which is appreciated! definitely recommend the oxtail and abodo wings!

Great service and even better food. Would highly recommend the lamb curry and jerk chicken. Needed somewhere to pray and the waitress very kindly took me to a space downstairs at their sister restaurant a couple doors down and even provided me with a prayer mat! Will definitely be coming again.

I had a slightly mixed experience in terms of the food. Some of the dishes were good, however, some were too salty and too overcooked e.g. the calamari starter and the dutty fries. However, what stood out in this restaurant was the excellent service provided by Maya. She resolved all of my issues without issue and is one of the nicest restaurant employees I've come across. If I were to go back, a major reason would be her great customer service. Thank you again!

Enjoyed my first meal since lockdown at this resturant. Really enjoyed my evening. The service is really good with excellent staff. The food was delicious!! We ordered jerk chicken with rice and pea which was amazing. The portion size was excellent. Taste and quality of food was a very high standard. 1 small issue, we ordered mac and cheese and it came out cold to the middle of the dish which told me that it was frozen! Overall great experience. This restaurant blew my mind! To start with, the food was delicious - No question about it! Huge portions to fill you up and bursting with flavour! And the service was outstanding. I’ve been to many restaurants where the servers were just not bothered about any customers and find it difficult to show even decent manners however this restaurant really went over and beyond for my reservation. I booked it for a small party of 3 for lunch - My dad actually recommended this place and he is super picky, so I instantly thought I need to try it! We were running slightly late and I called the restaurant to apologise and let them know and they were so calm and friendly over the phone. They didn’t get frustrated like most places and threaten to give the table away - they just simply said thank you for letting us know. (Some other restaurants should take a leaf out of their book) Upon arrival we were shown such great, accommodating treatment from all the staff - (one in particular but I didn’t get her name! She gave us a doughnut for my friends birthday and didn’t charge which was incredibly generous) & All the reviews about it being expensive, yes it’s not the cheapest restaurant in London but to be honest, if you want fine dining, you gotta pay fine dining price - or you should have just gone to Tennesseeland chicken’n’chips and skipped the care and quality that goes into this kind of food. My table got 3 main dishes, 2 starters and 3 drinks for £60 - I actually find that pretty good price and the portions aren’t at all small. We went at Brunch time but since the plan was for lunch, we ate the main dishes and some starters - We will be returning here to try their Brunch menu & more! I will definitely be recommending this place to family/friends! A delightful Halal Restaurant- No Alcohol! Thank you guys once again for a lovely experience and great hosting :)

I had a great this Saturday in Guanabana. The service was excellent from Peter and he went out an extra mile to make us happy. I was disappointed at first with other young waiters who were hanging around and not paying much attention to the customers as they were busy chatting with themselves. We were quite late for our reservation and the kitchen was closed, but Peter who I believe to be one of the managers was amazing. He quickly rectified the matter for us and arranged for the chef to make our food. I’m absolutely chuffed with the service and very happy the staff were able to accommodate us. If your looking for delicious Caribbean food go here! The portions are HUGE especially the Jerk Chicken. The flavours are great, everything is well seasoned and spiced. This is a BYOB restaurant which so grab a bunch of drinks before hand if you want and settle in for some authentic Caribbean home cooking. Overall, friendly staff and this is a great place for group dinning. Make sure you try the cactus fries something I had never tried before and they were great!!

Food is decent, portion size is good nothing special. Price wise very expensive for the food quality and quantity. I would not recommend the nachos unless you like mince in floating oil. My favourite Caribbean restaurant in London! So authentic- tastes like home. Always a really relaxed atmosphere and the staff are great! The BYOB policy is also appreciated. I think the evening menu is better than the brunch menu but both are still full of delicious stuff!

Very enjoyable, good location, tasty food, efficient staff, and its BYO! Caribbean theme, they also do brunch (looked great at the next table), but the main menu was brilliant. Recommend the oxtail stew, curry lamb, and the vegetable trio, but it all looks good. The back area is airy with an atrium and has a pleasant atmosphere. A few tables outside at the rear if it's a nice day or warm evening. Nice people, definitely going again.

Very good food, and popular with locals. I had traditional boneless jerk chicken, plantains, red beans & rice. My wife choose grilled sea bass with cocoanut sauce, and with feta & mash (sublime combination). We exchanged plates halfway through the meal. No alcohol, unless you bring your own.

Guanabana Restaurant has been here since 2007 serving Latin Caribbean cuisine from all over South America & the Caribbean. Hence on the menu, you will find a mix of Caribbean and Tex Mex food like Tacos and Fajitas. As a fan of Caribbean cuisine, I went for the Jerk wings and Jollof rice. They had this on the brunch menu but did not suggest us to order it as it had extra plaintains for the same price. The food was tastier than it looked. The chicken wings were deliciously spicy with a punch that didn't linger and the Jollof rice was also spicy and went wonderfully well with it and the sauce from the chicken. I was lucky I didn't order the lamb curry because the lamb was a bit firm and dry. Overall, I was really glad I checked it out. There is also an extra compulsory 12.5% on top of the bill.

Lovely family owned and operated Caribbean restaurant. Staff is friendly, in fact, I chatted with the owner for a while. I ordered the boneless jerk chicken. If you can't handle a bit of spicy, make sure to let then know. My nose was running by the time I finished. But it was great and a huge portion size: the chicken comes with rice and peas, salad and fried plantains. Service was a bit slow, but I'll give them a pass for an authentic home cooked meal! I recommend it and will be back to try the burgers.

Let's get the low points out of the way; Soft drinks are wildly overpriced (similar to other restaurants tbf) £2.70 for 330ml. Parmesan & Garlic Fries disappointing with shards of parmesan sat unmelted on fries. Creamy Mash, just mash, quite dry. Boneless Jerk Chicken with rice and peas and plantain was excellent, might be the best I've ever had! Spicy but not too spicy, great flavour and filling too. That sauce was perfection! The restaurant and staff are welcoming, a really fresh and open space. Recommended highly for the chicken alone. Brilliant stuff!

We visited Panadera earlier and decided to pop into Guanabana. I was already full so decided to share 2 starters with my son. We had the fried calamari and jerk wings. We absolutely loved them both. My wife can eat a horse so continued with the spicy boneless jerk chicken. It was her first time eating jerk chicken and she was not disappointed. The service was also very good.

Good vibes all round! I recently visited Guanabana with 9 colleagues for our end of year team meal and the atmosphere was just incredible. We had to secure our places with a deposit and pre-orders from the festive menu prior to the date we visited (15 Dec). The person we spoke to was very friendly and accommodating and took in to account all our preferences and dietary needs. On the day, we arrived at 2pm to find a busy restaurant with many other office parties taking place so already it felt very festive. We were seated and the waitress provided water, mocktails and steaming hot garlic bread rolls made fresh on site which were delicious. I pre-ordered the following items - Starter - Jerk Adobo Wings Mains - Jerk Baby Chicken - Pepper and Spice flavour Dessert - Churros The wings were delicious and literally finger-licking good, pretty much all of us selected this and did not regret it. The few people who had the beef carpaccio starter tried some of the wings and agreed they were succulent and well seasoned. The Jerk baby chicken came with jollof rice, plantain and seasonal veg. Because the chicken was so big, I couldn't finish my sides and that jollof was the best rice I'd tasted before. I was saving the rice for last but by the time i finished the chicken and veg, I was stuffed. I would come back for a whole plate of the rice!! After such a heavy mains, it was lovely to have the light cinnamon sugar churros, which were made fresh, with vanilla ice cream to end the meal. The wait in between courses did take long but this was understandable as the place was heaving, every corner had a team of people. I have been to Guanabana before when it's quieter and not during the festive season and it has been a pleasant experience. We passed the time by getting up to dance in between meals and having our Secret Santa so all in all, we all had a fantastic time. Hats off to the people in charge of the music, it was loud but you just couldn't help dancing in your seat (or wherever there was free floorspace) and singing along! My wife and I ate here today and were treated to the most amazing dining experiences. My wife got the rib eye steak with mushroom sauce and I got the Boneless Chicken thighs with the sweet BBQ sauce. The food was immaculate. Stefan the chef who prepared our food was kind enough to have a chat to us after the meal too! The service staff were really nice and kept up the jolly good and trendy vibes. A group of friends and I visited the restaurant for a birthday, and the customer service from the staff was amazing. The lady that served us was extremely nice and welcoming; she recommended The Messy Mexican from the Brunch menu which didn't take long to arrive, and was delicious. I highly recommend their churros which were warm, soft and served with vanilla ice cream and a caramel sauce. The restaurant is very cosy and homely, they have a prayer room for those who need to pray, and the toilet was clean. I would definitely visit again soon.

A great place in Camden. Food was great, BBQ beef burger was great as it didn't suffer the same issue most BBQ burgers do; bring too rich. Atmosphere is a bit dark so you'll like it if that's your thing. Halal food too :) Only issue was that the Mojitos we got (mango and lychee) just tasted like Rubicon drinks... And I found out they use Rubicon mango and lychee to make it, so that was disappointing.

Great place to eat in Camden! Mixed ethnic cuisine, from Caribbean to Nigeria and many places in between! Really tasty food, reasonably priced and the drinks are also good. I had the Nigerian Surf and turf and some poutine both of which were amazing. Spicy, but for me as it should. Staff friendly and really helpful. Food and drinks are halal so as stated bring your alcoholic drinks because there's none there.

Do yourself a favour and visit Guanabana on a Sunday afternoon to try their island roast, one of the best meals I have ever eaten and you can have either a chicken roast or a beef roast. I wish I lived in Camden so I could eat at this restaurant everyday. The atmosphere was also great and the staff were really friendly. 11/10.

Visited this venue on Mother's Day with my family as we visited here last and enjoyed the space and the meal back then, however our Mother's day dinning experience was not impressive at all. We waited an hour and a half for our meals, prior to ordering our main meals we ordered 5 glasses of cold drinks and 1 cup of hot water with squeeze lemon in it, all the cold drinks were served except the hot water, 15mins later we reminded them that we're still waiting on the hot water, we were told it will be with us soon, haha!! to date we are still waiting, the food came but not the hot water and couple of our orders were wrong so we had was to wait for them to prepare the correct meals. The staffs were not properly attired, the manager was somewhat pleasant but not very professional, the restaurant could do with a makeover to look and feel more comfortable. I must say the food was great, very tasty and nice that's the only consolation. We refused to pay the service charge as we didnt think the service we received warrant the payment. Would not recommend the venue but would not deny anyone tasting their meals. 🤷‍♀️

Not our first visit. Previously gave 4 stars. Came with the family as a walk in. Segregation of customers is via pop up stands with a plastic sheet stuck to it. Food was average. Portion size of some of the starters and sides is questionable. The customer service was very slow and left a lot to be desired. It felt like they had a lot of new staff. - I never blame staff with these things, always the management.

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. From the minute I contacted them to host my wedding dinner reception, Saber was a superstar. He went above and beyond my expectations and really cared about making our day special. We spoke a few times before the day and he handled everything and I didn't have to stress or worry about anything at all. The staff were attentive and managed to handle a large group of 29 people and the food was delicious! The portions were generous and filing and all of our guests are still raving about it. Stumbled across this Restaurant by accident and now its my absolute Favorite! They have friendly staff, an amazing Cook great food and a fair prices. You should know that they don't sell alcohol, but have a very fair byob (Bring your own booze) Policy. That means you can bring whatever alcohol you like and pay a small fee per bottle. I was pleasantly surprised; the quality of the meat was exceptional, and far more superior to some of the other Halal eateries. The service was friendly, but could be a little more attentive, this is no Meat Co yet everyone has a smile on and the restaurant oozes with an aura of comfort and fun, just look around and you’ll see all the other customers lost in the ambiance. The price was reasonable relative to the food and level of service; I don't think anyone could really feel hard done here as there really is something for everyone. The Restaurant it's self is a fresh change from other places; it's adventurous, yet homely, comfortable and cool. Top marks, and worth recommending.

Have been here many times, and have always found the service to be acceptable/good and the waiters friendly. I recommend calling ahead because they don't always have the ribs in stock. They're by far the best thing on the menu, which is DEFINITELY overpriced. Once the ribs were really salty but we ate them anyway, but when we told them about it on the next visit the waiter took the time to sit down with us for a few minutes to find out exactly what happened - so they are definitely trying! Some of the cocktails are really good. They also gave us free ice cream for the salty ribs but it tasted like Tesco Value ice cream, bless them - I recommend taking a long walk after the ribs to somewhere else for dessert.

My first Caribbean food experience, and I was not disappointed! The food was delicious, I’m asian so I need my flavour and spice. We ordered the curry goat and Benny was more than agreeable to exchange the rice and peas for jollof rice . My husband and I went while we were fasting and the waiter Benny was so kind and accommodating. They ensured that our food would arrive 10 minutes before our time to break fast and were almost apologetic that they couldn’t bring it out right on time. Which is really hard to predict! Benny was very informative and friendly. The manager also was always on hand at the slightest to attend to us. And a smile goes a long way - very friendly! They also cater to people who need to pray- separate prayer room. Will definitely be back!

EDIT: Since my last review, I've knocked a star because the prices are really too high (£4 for chips and £5 for 3 churros!?). I recommend getting a burger since They're cheaper and still fill you up. Some of the staff but not all were also quite rude and got missed things (chips came way later than the food, someone's starter didn't come, and we asked for tap water twice but it never came). Food still tasted amazing though and definitely get the guanabana juice!

Wow. One of the best halal restaurants I have ever been with the best steakes they offer. My wife and I came to the restaurant last Saturday and the place was packed. We where warned that we had to wait a while for the food as the restaurant was serving lots of large parties. I ordered the rib eye steak with mash potato and my partner ordered the spicy jerk chicken with rice and peas. All these dishes where so enjoyable. The atmosphere in the place was lively. Even the mocktails we orderx ( MOHITO AND PINA COLADA ) where delicious. All the staff where friendly,active and very helpful even the place was so busy. THIS PLACE IS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE RESTAURANTS KNOW, AND I WILL BE BACK.
