Nice salad and you can actually taste the carrots. Bread was fresh and had lovely taste. The mains came with rice which wasn’t too bad but meat could have been better. Although lamb stew cooked with vegetables was very tender. Good decor and family atmosphere.

The best Turkish restaurant I ever been to by far. I had a traditional Turkish pizza as a starter came in with a nice ball of salad and a delicious yogurt cucumber sauce. Then a mixed meat platter lying on seasoned rice and pieces of bread which was second to none and finished up with a well brewed Turkish tea. It's not good for people who binge in food because food here is so tasty that you eat until you full and you just continue for the sake of it. Well done 👌🏽. You know what am going to visit Istanbul for my next holiday 😇

I'm gonna give you an honest review here. I truly believe this is a good place to eat, don't expect the best meal ever in London because you won't find that. They bring you complimentary bread, 2 spreads and a small salad. Service was quick and attentive, as it should be. Lamb chops perhaps deserve a bit more than 3 starts but I found them a bit dry, my partner got chicken with tomato sauce and iogurt, another 3 starts and a bit more... Complimentary tea and a wannabe baklava(or maybe it has a different name). In total, £47 +10% service charge. I think for what we got it was a bit expensive. Will I go again? Probably yes but first I'll have a go at any of the other Turkish restaurants on the same street.

To be honest I end up here by coincidence... Wanted to go next door Gokyuzu restaurant but I liked more the way this restaurant was looking and more happy faces enjoying their meals... so I said "Mum, let's try a new place this time" We had been before to Gokyuzu in Finchley and wanted to try the one in green lanes(wood green area) this street is a cocktail from Turkey like... I was so pleased to discover how many dishes were on menu which not all random Turkish restaurants has usually. So we agreed to take multiple dishes and share :) The usual soups found in turkish restaurants in London are lentil soup and chicken, sometimes a sheep stew like soup. This time I was surprised to see Yayla(yogurt soup with rice) on menu. Was soo refresing with mint flavour. We choose cheese and spinach gozleme( a savory turnover, the dough is usually unleavened, and made only with flour, salt and water, but gözleme can be made from yeast dough as well)was soft and warm... yummy! Also we try the manti(filled pasta) with garlic yoghurt sauce and spiced melted butter wich was probably the best I ever had! We also tried Icli kofte ( boulgour kofte filled with minced beef) and never I eat such soft and melting like meatball before... incredibly tasty. I will be going again and again.

A lovely large Turkish Restaurant located at 29 Grand Parade on Green Lanes in Haringey. The restaurant is well appointed with some outdoor seating too. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed a number of Cold and Hot Meze along with a delicious bread.and Salad before enjoying the Lamb Ribs, The Lamb Kofte, The Falafel and the Lamb Kleftico which was very moist and delicious. The portions are all very ample. We enjoyed the whole meal with an excellent Turkish White wine. For dessert we had the delicious Chocolatina, as well as the Excellent Bakalava and the Red Velvet Cheesecake. The desserts were all excellent. Special mention for our waiter Samit (Sam) who did a great job serving us and making our visit an enjoyable one. Definitely a great place to go for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner and at a very reasonable price. Well done to all the staff and team at Hala Restaurant, Green Lanes.

Excellent food but appalling service. Shame as it is a clean, bright restaurant with a good veggie range, serving beautifully presented big portions (see photo of mixed veg starters for 4) of delicious food. But ....a delay of 20 minutes after seating until we were offered water or drink orders taken? Another 15 -20 minute wait to pay? Lots of staff wandering about...what is front of house management doing amidst this inefficient chaos? I can't say I'd return unless service improves.

It’s my first ever going out to a Turkish restaurant, and I was blown away how busy this restaurant was, literally people were queuing outside waiting to be seated. And here’s a great tip! On one side of this busy Harringay high street, you’ve got the fast food takeaways ( pretty sad & unsociable ) and on the other side, busy like a normal Saturday afternoon/evening. But don’t take word for pop down and have a look. It’s not just Hala Restaurant, but literally along the high street on the restaurant side it’s busy as usually like there’s no pandemic. After all with Turkey on the red list & a heat wave causing unprecedented fires across the country, you might as well take this opportunity to eat out, get sociable. Customer service was ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ with exceptional service from waiter Berkay Food portions was so generous, I literally couldn’t finish off my meal, so Berkay handed me a takeaway box. If you love Kofta or chicken kebabs……trust me it’s divine There’s no price in going out with your loved ones & having a good time. During this unprecedented times of isolation, pinging, amber / red list, I thought enough is enough…….it’s time to reclaim my life back & not being afraid in going out again. Let’s help local businesses like Hala Restaurant thrive. If you’re still anxious about going out……you can just go on the opposite side of Harringay high street were the fast food takeaways are & live in your own bubble world OR YOU CAN ENJOY YOURSELF WITH FAMILY & FRIENDS & HELP LOCAL BUSINESSES!

Been to a lot of Turkish restaurants, this one is by far one of the best! Good meat quality and quantity for the platter also service was good! Very busy considering it’s right next door to gokyuzu and personally for me I think Hala is better! Juicy tender meats cooked to perfection and authentic tasting Turkish! Abit pricey but worth the try when you taste it! Will definitely be coming back and recommending!

Food: There is a big variety of food. All the foods were ordered was very delicious and tasted like authentic Turkish food. Price: The prices were fine, but the service charge prices were very high and there wasn't much service, so I was a bit confused (hence I took one star). Atmosphere: A nice and friendly atmosphere. Great quality, and tasting food. The interior has a really nice look and the service is good... I went with a friend and bought a platter which was a good portion for both of us, well laid out and styled well. Taste was great, even the onion peels were nice, I had them on their own. Ohh and their wings were really good, usually when I order a Turkish platter, the lamb shish is the best but the wings here were on the same level. There are pay parking bays right outside the shop which I believe are free after 7pm. Also there are some side roads that do not charge after 6:30pm. Evenings have a nice atmosphere here...

If you’re looking for authentic Turkish food then this is the place to go in Green lanes. Every single item on the menu is good, especially the Adana kebab and all soup selections. Service is always fantastic but I have found they have raised the prices quite considerably. I would also recommend the Sutlac for dessert as it’s one of the best I have tasted!

Best experience ever. Attended with 12 colleagues the service and food was amazing. As soon as you walk in you are approached by a member of staff with a welcoming smile. They attended to us very quickly and eventhough it was quite busy our food was served promptly, eventhough we were a big group. The food was well cooked and deicious, (I could say its the best Ive had to date). The restaurant was very clean and hygienic and the vibe was amazing. Will definitely go there again and would reccomend to everyone who needs delicious food and a 5 star service.

They have a large menu with different varieties and options, from vegetarian to kebab. I would recommend to try the hummus regardless of your order, as it has the perfect spiciness and rich flavors, one of the best I've seen in a while.

The food here was amazing! I went there with a group of friends to break our fasts. It was already busy, and I thought we would have to wait a long time to get our food. We ordered our food and starters were placed on the table straight away (standard in traditional Turkish restaurants) and the food came 5 minutes after fast breaking time. 5* all the way for that! What I didn’t like was the attitude of the waitress that served us. Her attitude was very much like she didn’t want to be at work. It felt like we had to argue with her to place an order. I asked her for her name on which she responded with “Angelica, aka Angel”. I don’t know if that’s her real name (after she gave a very bad service). Apart from her, everything was great! Edited: They have recently refurbished their restaurant. The place looked cosy before, but now is a lot more cozy and spacious than before. They got rid of a lot of chairs and replaced it with long sofas along the walls. The space has now been utilised.

Great restaurant and food! I came in and we immediately greeted by front of house staff and they placed us by the window which I thought it was lovely, but the reason I’m giving it 4 stars is, the staff were constantly hovering over us and looking outside the window and made us feel very uncomfortable and couldn’t eat comfortably! Absolutely lovely place. Very warm and the interior is just gorgeous. Food was great as it was my first time having Turkish food so loved it. The drink that I ordered (can't remember lol) but it was a very big glass and I wasn't expecting it. So shout out to the bartender for that. Amazing. The only put off was the little 5 foot receptionist young girl who was unnecessarily rude. When we arrived she stated we would only be waiting 10mins for a table then we ended up waiting 35 mins on side seats by the entrance. She then moved us along by the wall to stand there with others who were also waiting like a pack of sardines in a tin. As its covid season I thought it was mad but when hunger strikes lol we had no damn choice. So we waited patiently considering the time. My friend asked her politely how long the wait will be...she looked at my friend said what and then walked off. We were so shocked because what type of service is this!? My thing is... even if its really busy don't catch an attitude with customers who are waiting and have been nothing but patient and would like to know what's going on. Not professional at all. But other than that food was good, other staff were nice. Its that receptionist you gotta watch out for her. She's probably a Gemini 🤣 or a cactus!

a really amazing restaurant with such a nice, modern interior. we had a lovely waitress named dilara who helped us with everything we needed. the prices can be on the expensive side, but unlike other pricey restaurants the portions here are so big. we all barely finished our plates. definitely go and try it out if you like turkish food!

We wanted to try this restaurant for a change as normally we use the neighbouring restaurants when we visit Green Lane in Hackney following our Mediterranean shopping. We ordered a regular breakfast and a Turkish spinach gözleme(a kind of wraper freshly baked off the baking stone or metal(saç)) We were first served with grilled chunky onions,tomatoes, Turkish green pepper,mushrooms,olives,Turkish cheese,Pide(Turkish bread) as a starter. Then the main breakfast with cheese omellet,sucuk(Turkish dry meat),hellum cheese,small cups of honey,cream,yogurt,pekmez with tahin(mulberry plus tahin syrub) It turned out to be surprisingly good, fresh and well served. The restaurant is not huge but spacious and feels cosy with its decoration and lights. All in all it is worth trying but perhaps its lahmacun cant beat those of Antepliler next door. ***** Updating as of 9thJune19....Hala is increasingly winning us over from Antepliler. This morning we had a Turkish gözleme an Turkish tea and ordered a take away minced meat gözleme ,all of them were good and served well elegantly. Plus the toilets were clean and upto very high standard. Hala,Keep up the good job. Updating as of 26th October2019;we went to Hala today for a mix menu breakfast and lunch,unfortunately we did not get as much impressed as we did last time. The breakfast was served in a manner of college lunch dinner,sigara böreği(Turkish cigar pastry)was chucked on the fried eggs,the breakfast ingredients poorly laid out in a school lunch dinner plate. The spinach gözleme and the fried mushrooms were nice and served well. The staff who didn't speak Turkish rushed to away contact with the customer although we spoke English to communicate with them. The quality of the food in general was ok but needs a bit professional touch. So I am not going to take a star down from my rating on this occasion but would like to see these improvements actualise here as we recommend these Turkish restaurants to friends here in Green Lane. P.S The toilets also looked very poor and cheaply kitted out. Please make your toilets look good and be proud of ,as many will judge you from there as well.Good luck.😊👍

Nice place, very busy as it has outdoor seating, we got sat by the outside seats at first, but had to move seats as people were smoking and I had my daughter with me, food were good and seasoned well, my mum enjoyed the cold meze, salad were fresh, over all a good place to eat if your not bothered about not being able to hearing one another while talking lol. Hala is one of the better Turkish restaurants in the area. Last time I got a yoghurt dish but unfortunately the yoghurt was a bit too sour. However, their grilled meat platters are the best! Definitely recommended if you go in a group. Unlimited Turkish bread too! The service is professional and I always love the cup of tea they serve at the end of the meal, very authentic.

Bread and starters were scarce, we were 6 people on the table and they kept bringing 5 pieces sometimes having to ask continuously the staff for more. Staff looked a bit overwhelmed that night and even the service were good, it looked a little bit rushed. Prices are a bit higher than others in the same area, but the quality of the food we were served was well worth it. Very good experience considering this review is written during the pandemic phase were they could only serve food outside. I would recommend to come here and I will come back again when the restaurant is at its 100% to see if we can top the 5 stars!

So so delicious. No matter what you get, you won't be disappointed. We got the Hot Meze Starter platter and the Hala Special as well as the Manti which was so amazing. Perfect amount for 4 people, for sure. Also the Virgin Mojito and Fresh Orange Juice were winners for drinks. For meats, you'd expect it to feel quite heavy but it's not at all. It's so perfectly spiced and not greasy at all. I definitely would return again, can't wait to try more! Edit: I got the Rice Pudding and Kunufe after and they were fantastic! This restaurant is awesome. 2nd edit: Flash flood and thunderstorm had us stuck in the restaurant for an extra hour and the staff were so nice and made sure we were all well looked after. Thanks! (We were too hungry to take photos though haha, maybe next time!)

Hi guys, I’d like to start by saying that I am Hala’s client from its founding days and 9 out of 10 times I eat at Hala when in Green lanes and its quite often I am there. I know the staff really well and attitude is always amazing, service is brilliant. So whats the problem? I was there 2 days ago and ordered Turkish breakfast and a cup of Americano. It had been few months since I last had breakfast here. I always preferred Hala’s breakfast over others because of amazing grilled mushroom and peppers side. Now there were two problems: For breakfast with black coffee the bill came to £16.95🙈 honestly guys that is over the top. I don’t normally ask for receipt And don’t know what the breakdown was but definitely not paying £17 for breakfast, its a 4-5* hotel price. Second problem was that the green pepper was half grilled half cold. Mushrooms weren’t as good and as generous as before, however egg portion was more generous this time. Overall the food wasn’t arranged with as attention to detail as before and presentation was poor. Please take it as a feedback of a concerned friend rather than criticism. Thank you

Amazing evening in Hala with 2 of my girlfriends. We had a lovely waiter called Shevket who was incredibly friendly, pleasant and helpful. Our starters consisted of Manti, Arnavut Cigeri and Karides which were very generous portions for starters and also very delicious. Our platter for 3 was just perfect for 3 people and the meat was the best iv tasted in a long while. Our waiter Shevket went the extra mile for us after we ordered coffees and requested sweetners. He disappeared for a while and then we realised he’d gone to the shops especially to get some for us! Also treating us to some complimentary Turkish sweets with our complimentary Turkish Tea!!! Ordered online, disappointed for the cost (2.80 for a can of coke), the Turkish tea wasn't available, neither was the bean stew. The alternative food (lamb chops and potato) was nice. I didn't get an chilli or garlic sauce as per my request. All in all, i will visit when I can go eat in one day but for now, i won't be ordering online.

Excellent food. Very large portions: a mixed grill for 4-5 people was enough for 4 people for two meals (we took it home for the evening!) and was really succulent. The Turkish coffee and tea are also very good and the complimentary sweets with the bill are mouth-watering. The desserts also looked yummy but we just couldn't find any room for them! Less than £90 for 4 people (with enough leftovers for the evening meal) including drinks. Top value!

Everytime we've eaten here we get exceptional service, we are usually served by Bedri who always has a smile, polite and makes us laugh. The manager Sam is always attentive and make us feel so at home that we usually end up leaving at 1am! The staff make the restaurant a lovely place to visit and never make you feel you need to rush your food and leave - very professional! The food portions are great, everything is fresh and tasty..you won't go home feeling hungry! But I’ll say they are number 1 in North London with their atmosphere. This place has it’s own vibe with their staff and customers. You go at anytime of the day and you still enjoy the atmosphere. (Thanks to the staff) Last time I went was 1am in the morning and this place was so busy (Saturday night) the vibe of this restaurant is amazing. It’s hard to find a restaurant that has an atmosphere Hala Restaurant has, especially at that time of the day bear in mind it’s not a night club. So if you want to have a nice food in an amazing atmosphere Hala restaurant is the place to go. And all in all it comes with tasty food, great staff, good prices and most of all with 5 star Hygiene 👏🏼

It's probably the best Turkish restaurant in Haringay. Service is on point. Waitress Rojin is polite and friendly - Turkish tea is proper! Give it a go if you're in the area and fancy a kebab.

I've been here twice. Both times we ordered the platter for 3-4 people. Every meat was succulent, well cooked and oozed taste. The best thing about this platter was it included starters which the two rivals across the road don't offer. They also give you turkish tea at the end of your dinner. decor is ok and the seating is adequate. plenty of seats available and if not , the waiting time is minimal (10 min) I am rarely happy with where I eat but this was one of the exceptions. Worth every penny.

Went here for the first time, with my wife. It was a Wednesday evening seemed a lot busier then restaurants usually would on a Wednesday eve. Though we got seats straight away and served up rather quickly. Staff are friendly food on point, ok can be a bit more attentive but overall rating 5*. One staff member made a joke about my eating habits. Ok I get the joke it's a cultural thing but my wife gave him a few words but then it all ended in laughter. Staff then served us with more food and offered us more. But we were content with what we ordered only so much you can eat. Towards the end paying my bill I joked about the service charge staff stated it was optional unlike other restaurants that try force you to pay service charge. I defo recomend this place good for couples, families, birthdays, work dinners etc. Thank you all at Hala. Will defo return and recomend 🖐🖐👍🏻

It was our first time trying Hala restaurant as i am a Gökyüzü restaurant customer. First impression was great! Nicely and professionally greeted by Fatos. Also for a Saturday evening didn’t wait long to be seated. Very friendly service, the only downfall is I ordered chips with our food and it didn’t come.. I mentioned it again and waited patiently while eating our food but we ended up finishing our food. When the waitress came to clean our table we said if she can cancel the chips and she replied saying “sorry that they are really busy”.. I honestly don’t think that is a good enough excuse! The food quality wasn’t as good as Gökyüzü

Fabulous authentic Turkish in the middle of Green Lanes. I love the lamb shish. Their salad and rice is yummy and very fresh. I love love love their lahmacun! Their meal deal for 2-4 people is fantastic value and usually enough leftovers for lunch the next day. House wine is very drinkable. There’s usually availability but can get busy so recommend you book!

Hala has been our go to restaurant on Greenlanes for years. Unfortunately, the food taste is not the same. I went last night with some friends. The staff were friendly but the quality of the food was very average. I had peri peri chicken shish, half of the food on the plate was cold. The chicken was a bit hard not succulent, the flavour was not great. My husband's plate had the same issue with the temperature. My friend ordered a lamb and aurburgine dish. It arrived without any aurburgine in it. The staff told us it has aurburgine but it had maybe one tiny slither which my friend couldn't fine. The chips ordered for the kids on the table took over an hour to arrive, they had most of their mums meal. The quality has really been affected by the influx of customers.

The platter is worthwhile and doesn't have doner kebab as other restaurants do (which can often be greasy and you can't really see what you're eating). In Hala they do finely cooked morsels of meat and kofte in their platter. Toilets were clean.

Weve been going to Hala for several years now. My husband is Turkish, so we know good Turkish Food. Hala is a brilliant restaurant for families, and we feel really comfortable going there with our 2 kids. The manta is my absolute favourite (even better here than any ive had in Turkey) and its also worth going for the breakfast. Actually the food is so good, that i always end up eating too much :-/ The service is also fantastic, and our favourite waiter is Sammit. He always is so kind to our children and makes a fuss of them. If you want to try a new Turkish restaurant then I highly recommend Hala! We always take friends and family there and they always love it!

As with lost Turkish restaurants on this road you get a salad and bread when you arrive. The service wasn't great, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great. It took a while to get served and the staff were not all that helpful or they were too busy and they were stressed. The food itself was ok but again I do think I'll be going back when I feel there are better options available on the same street.
