Stunning atmosphere with staff that is always welcoming warm and friendly.
Having a drink of a bite to eat at the hood feels like coming home to friends and family.
Marvelous selection of wines and beers.
Their food menu is very creative and has something for everyone.
Portion size is great, as I can eat a starter and feel like I had a main.
Hands down.

P. W.Loved Christmas dinner last night. Did not feel rushed and dinner was well paced by the wonderful servers from appetizer through the desert. Figgy pudding was supposedly steamed but was a little dry around the edges with not as much fruit as I prefer. But it was quite tasty and the custard was a good consistency for me. We loved the choices of each course. The steak and brisket entrée was perfect and the sauces on each of the meals our group had were pleasant and well thought accompaniments to the meal.
Great selection of wines, notable for their inclusion of both French and South African reds.

W. C.We have been twice now. Service is amazing - all the staff are welcoming and considerate. Especially with our 6 month old. The steak night is great. Tonight we had the fish - both were delicious. Old fashioned cocktails done very well.
D. J.Accomplished cooking & service - perfect for elegant local restaurant. Vegetarians (like us) should be be aware that there is not much choice on the menu - e.g. for dinner you will all end up ordering the same main course! Brunch has more choices, but again we were surprised that a high-end restaurant would serve plates with not a speck of green - curious.
We're guessing the chefs pride themselves on their handling of meat, so not for us. But a good neighbourhood restaurant nevertheless. Much better value than equivalent places in zone 1.
E. C.First time here this morning. Epic breakfast of pancakes bacon and maple butter and i had eggs benedict. Perfectly cooked.

J. M.We LOVED everything we had at Hood earlier today. I was a little worried as most of their meals seemed quite heavy and I was looking for something lighter but their eggs royal special was literally perfect, and so were the pancakes my partner had. Their oat cappuccino was simply amazing as well, they had just the right amount of milk in there so it was still quite strong - which was a welcome surprise. The staff was simply lovely and super helpful in general and their interior decor's also very inviting in general. I'm quite sure that we'll be back soon.
M. H.A-maz-ing! Had brunch here at the weekend and, oh my, we were blown away by how good the food was!
I cannot recommend the bubble & squeek + beef rib hash enough. My partner & her mum both absolutely loved theirs too. We will 100% be back!
Really smart layout inside too, stylish decor & friendly staff. Gem of a place.
