Oh my god. Is food just better in London? The food here is amazing and the service is fantastic. The owner is super nice and welcoming. I highly recommend the chicken and lamb kebab. It was so delicious and well-flavored. Probably some of the best kebabs I've ever had. And based on the other reviews, the food here is really authentic. And the portions are huge (like Texas-sized portions) so make sure to come here hungry! There are some outdoor seating options and some indoor seating as well. I'd definitely recommend trying this restaurant!

After a nice walk with our dogs. We walked passed this restaurant and were very intrigued with the portion size and how delicious it looked. So we decided to give it a go. It did not disappoint. It was delicious!! The food was so flavourful. They are not stingy on the spices at all. We will bring our friends next time!

Strolling in Mayfair and came across this tiny jewel of a place. Iranian cuisine as the name already suggests, the service is amazing and the food is very good & tasty. Had the Tachine and it did not disappointment 👌

Although the staff were attentive we did not enjoy the food, we were hungry so we ate it. The area is known for having pricier restaurants but the food did not represent the price. Our mixed grill came out wet and oily, I believe it may have been defrosted because there was no taste of freshness or that charcoal aroma I'm used to. I just think it's a shame that it was not made fresh. The atmosphere is nice and seating is romantic but major improvements need to be made on the food. Maybe we went on a busy day, all other reviews seem positive but that was not our experience

The best Persian food I’ve had in London, not to mention some of the best service I’ve ever received at a restaurant. Owner and waiter were so friendly and we had a lovely chat. The food was cooked by a very experienced chef whose been in the game for over 45 years. The best Koobideh I’ve ever had, literally the meat melted in my mouth and was so juicy and full of flavour. Can’t wait to come back, we travelled from far just to come here and did not disappoint.

It was the best Kebab I have ever had in the UK. The taste of Koobideh and Barg Kebab is as authentic as the one you can only find in the best restaurant in Iran. We really enjoyed the meal and the time we spent there. If you want to try authentic Iranian style kebabs and food, don't hesitate to go to this place!

The service was exceptionally good! The food was extraordinarily well prepared! The person who was taking orders, recommended us to take a traditional starter with liver and honestly we think it was the best starter we have ever tried in our lives! We came here for a quick bite. We ordered some starters. The environment was cozy and warm (the have heaters). We had a large table for two of us with sofa chair. My husband and me could sit together. ☺️ The waiters were very attentive. Food also arrived quickly. The chicken soup was thick and tasty. Where's the 6th star? This place is fantastic! I have sampled many Iranian restaurants in London and this one is arguably the best. If you know what a 'korsi' is, this place has one! If you don't, it's a traditional item of furniture in Iran with a heater under a low table but at this restaurant they've adopted it to the dining tables so even if you're sat outside, you'll be taking your jacket off! (In January!) The food is incredible, had kabob koobideh with a complimentary soup dish. The prices may seem steep at first glance but for the service and portion size you will have a hard time finding somewhere that can beat it. Highly recommend it, the nan bread is a must and try the dough!

My wife and I had dinner at the Iran Restaurant earlier this week. It was the best meal we’ve had in a Persian/Lebanese/Turkish/Greek style of restaurant in the UK…ever. The service was so friendly, the restaurant gave us a delicious soup gratis and the mixed kebab for two was the tastiest and most generous such kebab we’ve ever had. The chicken was tender and just melted in your mouth. The lamb mince was exquisitely spiced. The vegetables were delicious also. All-in-all, we could not fault it and this is the easiest 5* we’ve ever given. Keep up the good work team. Can’t wait till our next visit!

We stopped by this restaurant on our way to the London Night Tours with hopes for a nice meal and ended up pleasantly surprised with the dinner. As a couple from Houston, TX we're very lucky to live in a city with many diverse and authentic ethnic cuisine. Which results in us being very picky when we eat out. A lot of places in the UK that we've been to have been hit or miss but this restaurant was one of the good ones. The rice here was the first place we've been that didn't serve dry rice, which is embarrassing for the other restaurants. The meats were tender and the chicken breast was moist and perfectly seasoned. My favorite was the lamb kabob, which was seasoned nicely and not over grilled to dryness that some other places tend to do. Overall I'd highly suggest this restaurant for anyone that wishes to eat around for great restaurants in London.

Me and my wife ate at this place on Saturday night, no reservation. We walked up and was asked by a gentleman if we were looking for a table for two, and he said for us to wait at his table on the patio for another table to clear. We believe he is the owner and we sat in the table next to his for our meal. We had the mixed grill (for two) which was 50 GBP. Comes with (two large) lamb kebabs, (four pieces) grilled chicken (breast), grilled vegetables, and (two) lamb ribs with salad and rice. Was plentiful even for tourists from Texas and it was delicious as well and well seasoned. Service at the table was quick despite how busy the restaurant was. Water was served in a pitcher with mint leaves, much better than just plain tap. The owner also gave us two glasses of tea on the house, which was a great way to end the meal. There is a service charge on top of the bill, but standard around London. Would eat at this restaurant again if another opportunity rises again. It's nestled in a nice street neighboring other restaurants and bars, while not too close to the bustling streets to be distracted by cars whizzing by.

Did not enjoy the food. The price is not reflective of what you get. Ordered the mixed grill: lamb chops were unseasoned and as if roasted just out of the packet. Grilled lamb andd rice, though, was very good. The salad comes with no dressing, also as if just opened a salad pack and emptied it on the plate. Roasted vegetables were very good. The staff look sad and as you try to pass they and meet them at a crossroads 95% of they time they took priority and moved instead of letting you through. The house red wine was great and sitting outside was a delight. But will not be coming back again as the price does not reflect the level of intricacy in food nor the quality of customer service.

I enjoyed my meal at Iran Restaurant! They had a nice affordable red wine (Shiraz) that went very well with the meal and they had the full range of Iranian starters and mains. As we were mainly vegetarian, we had an eggplant appetiser (#13 on the menu) as well as the spinach yogurt dish (#12) but the latter was mostly yogurt and not much spinach which wasn’t what we were expecting. Our appetisers came with a lovely fresh baked flat bread. Our mains were mainly impressive, aside from the fesenjan which was oddly very sweet and not what we were expecting. The gormeh sabzi was wonderful and the rice with broad beans and dill were also really great. The tea at the end was the icing on the cake. The restaurant is rather small so do try and make a reservation. They have some outdoor seating as well.

This place is amazing! Hidden away in the streets of London, Iran Restaurant is a favorite destination among locals. Even sith great street-side seating and a cozy basement offering even more seats, it can get crowded if you don't call ahead or come outside of rush time. The food is very well prepared, with succulent chicken, delicious rice, and amazing everything else. One thing to note is that I think they close the dessert area rather early, so make sure to order or ask about dessert early.

Wonderful. Delicious Iranian food at reasonable price in a lovely little alley in Mayfair. There are many options for vegetarians and vegans- this is unusual for most restaurants! Of course, it also has a huge range of meat dishes. My partner had the mixed grill of lamb and chicken. He is Pakistani so he has very high expectations of chicken and especially lamb dishes! The restaurant itself is atmospheric, with paintings that celebrate Irani monuments from thousands of years ago (have you heard of Cyrus and the Spartan 300? Persepolis?) and also has a Tandoor oven - very important for making naan. The staff are also very friendly and helpful- not always expected in central London! Highly recommended. It's small and popular so make sure you book or check for space. I had the aubergines and split pea stew and my partner had the mixed grill.

The food competes with the very best Persian restaurants in Tehran, no doubt. We enjoyed the grilled salmon as well as Koobideh and Barg kebab. One minor issue is that the staff are not as professional as you would expect for such place and such prices. If you’re there for a cozy romantic lunch or dinner, you won’t get it. But for sure you’d enjoy the authentic Persian food.

I enjoyed the meal and would love to go back! The atmosphere is nice, the food is fabulous, and the service is good as the waiter is very attentive and funny! Love the hospitality. They offered me Ashe Reshte soup even though I had not order it. It was very delicious and warmed up my belly in this cold weather. I also had the lamb curry is also wonderful and it is not spicy at all (It's a shame that I didn't take a picture of it). The portion is quite big so I would recommend to order 2 starters and share 1 main course. For dessert, I had a Iranian black tea with Baklava (rich, sweet dessert pastry filled with chopped sweetened nuts and held together with syrup or honey). Tea is aromatic and lovely, it goes very well with each other as the black tea would balance the sweetness of the baklava. I would definitely recommend everyone to try them.

Great Service and Good Quality 5 of us walked in in Sheperds Market and was welcome with a very nice man. No set menu but the food is enough for one. Price is okay considering of the quality of the food. The chicken was tender, the Nan bread was crispy and soft at the same time. No. 61 is the bomb! Sauce was great. Considering we are Filipinos and love Persian food. I highly recommend this place as my first time trying Iranian food. Should definitely come back.

I must admit the place is hard to find because it is in a small alley way. The restaurant it quite small and not very posh but you forget about that once you taste the kebabs. The kebabs were so fresh and juicy, the spices were on point. Definitely a lovely little find in the heart of London.

My mom and i wanted to go somewhere special and as iranians we wanted to taste authentic iranian food, we heard a lot about this place through review sites and decided to try it out. It took us a while to get to as we commuted from the other side of london but it was all worth it! If you love food, you have to visit this restaurant. 27/4/2017: The best persian restaurant in London is Iran Restaurant in Myfair Are you visiting or live in London, you have to eat here. I came back after tow years and the food is awesome as before. Normally, the restaurant quality reduced after couple of year but this one has a quality standard and they maintain it.

The food at Iran restaurant was incredible, perfectly coal char kebabs that are tender and succulent inside, the rice was so good it was hard to not fill up on! The staff were so nice and attentive as well, we came with a cranky toddler who kept wanting to make a mess but regardless the staff we so patient and kind, talking to the little one and offered a small toy for him to play with. The price is on the higher end here but I genuinely think the quality very worth it, some of the best food I've had in London. Come with a group and share a selection of dishes, they won't disappoint.

We decided to have real Persian food as recommended by our friends, we found Iran restaurant with great welcome by Manager and he advices us to get Mirza Ghasemi and Lamb Shank Machbous listed as No61 only I can say wow I never tired taste before like that, so authentic so original it’s highly recommended by the way we served Persian traditional soup on the house and also we tried Naan Bread with Vegetable so tasty and portion size so generous, thank you for your hospitality we will come back and thank you Rames he represent and served us fantastically. 😍❤️👌👌👌😋❤️

Visited on the afternoon of 14 July 2021. Quality of food was outstanding. We had a shish kebab meal for two. It came with a starter of Baba Ghanouj with tandoori bread followed by the kebab platter. Two skewers of kofte kebab and one of shish. Kebabs were juicy and tender. The platter had the obligatory salad, grilled tomato and saffron rice. Rice was very well cooked and fragrant. Overall a very positive experience. Yes, it is expensive but this is Mayfair !

I don’t often write Google reviews but I thought during this time our hospitality industry needs credit where credit is due.. What a restaurant! The food was fantastic, the staff were adorable, real Persian hospitality and the Chef was not only eye-candy but ever so kind and made us Tahdig especially! They just kept feeding us with extras so although we’re probably 2 stone heavier we were duly satisfied and glad we chose this place over the other countless Persian restaurants popping up all over London. Oh and a special mention to the Ashe Reshte which tasted like my mother’s own. Faultless service and food from beginning to end. Bravo!

The lower ground floor of the restaurant has a very nice, classic Iranian ambience. They serve you this specific dish complimentary. We had one of the kebabs which were really good. The portions are huge. The food is amazing, especially if you’re Iranian. I am not Persian so I’d have preferred a big more of a British fusion to it. The staff is very friendly, especially if you/you’re with someone who speaks Farsi. Lovely experience x

I was in London with my partner we googled Iranian restaurants. And Iran Restaurant had amazing reviews so we thought why not try it out? Not knowing what to expect. Honestly best decision we ever made ! The food was incredible, the service was exceptional! I love Iranian food but never tasted something like this before. This food was authentic, it was just fresh it was cooked to perfection! I couldn’t fault it. And don’t get me started on the incredible service we received. You wouldn’t think sitting outside at this time of the year would be appropriate. But this place has made it so amazing, so cosy, so warm. The waiters were very welcoming. Especially Jamshid, he made our night more enjoyable with his positive and welcoming attitude. We will definitely be back again this place has made it on my top 5 restaurants in the UK !

Overall a disappointing experience, I walked past the restaurant and was enticed in by the name. I looked for a menu and could not find one outside or online, finding only pictures of the food on a monitor outside the restaurant, and a empty webpage with menu coming soon written over it online. When I did come to see the menu once I was seated I thought it was expensive but decided to dismiss the price because of the area and I thought I would be treated hospitably. One of the reasons I chose to eat here was because I saw that they cooked bread on site but at no point was I either asked if I wanted to order some or offered some complimentary on the house like you are in most Persian & Middle Eastern restaurants. Similarly my waiter ignored me at the start of the meal and he did not bother to take the time to explain the menu to me. My family is Iranian so luckily I understood it and knew what I wanted to order. When the food did come the size of the portion was good but unfortunately the tomatoes in my side salad had started to go off. When I finished I wasn’t asked or offered anything else like a tea, which is a normal customary practice in Iranian households and restaurants. Instead the tablecloth was taken away quickly and I was left to ask for the bill myself. I was then surprised to see a non optional 12.5% service charge had been added to the bill which I considered trying not to pay but decided it wasn’t worth getting into an argument over. I found the experience disappointing and short sighted as I could now be recommending them online, to friends and family, as well as planning my next visit.

My family and I came from New York to visit London for a week. We had heard beforehand that London isn't really known for it's food so we went for food that never fails- Persian food! The atmosphere is so comforting, the owner & waiters are wonderful and hospitable, and the chef knows what he's doing. The prices are well worth what you get, especially for the quality. Honestly we compared this food to the way my dad cooks it back at home, and it's just as amazing. Literally mouthwatering, the chicken here is so juicy and tender- it just melts in your mouth. We came back every night because we knew that this place would not disappoint! Once you're done with the food, order some tea and relax a little. There's no rushing you out. Unlike my parents, I get to stay in London until Decemeber-I plan on coming back every week at least once for this delicious food! For the last 2 weeks, I've been coming alone and everyone remembers me, knows my name and makes sure I never leave unhappy. I wish this place could be in New York :D

We had an amazing time here. I am Persian and I was looking for a good Persian restaurant in London as I was only there for a day. I went there with two friends who are from Austria and Russia and I wanted to show them how good Persian food is. The service was very good. The man helping us (who I assume was the owner) was very kind and gave us some appetizers, an extra plate of rice and tea with pastery on the house. The food was absolutely amazing. We had the order of Kebab Sultani and Chicken kebab, both very delicious and well-made. We were three and two dishes were more than enough and the portions were large. Overall I highly recommend this place.

Staff and manger were friendly. But I'm not sure about the food. Portion is big enough. But the price was quite expensive too. Price for Mixed grill was £18 in the picture posted 2 years ago, but actually it was £28. Portion of Biriyani is definitely for 2-3 people but mixed grill is for 1.5 people. And usually, this portion usually cost around £20 at quite famous Turkish restaurants. Taste of food was quite ... interesting. It was the taste I have't experienced before so I was not sure it is original taste of Persian style restaurant or just this restaurant use the unusual sizzening.

In the last couple of years of my vsisits to London, it was by far the best Persian food I have had here. Kebabs were delicately made, soft and delicious. Staff are warm and welcoming. Staff were really friendly and welcoming, but unfortunately the ghorme sabzi was not good at all. It was too watery with almost no beans and way too much meat, I had to basically just eat red meat and rice. They also need to add more vegetarian options (especially stews). It’s a very good location, but I won’t come back until they improve the quality.
