Reviews of Lahore Kebab House
P. C.
Lahore Kebab House has a capacity of 300 people and they're almost always jam packed. Friday and Satruday nights are insane. They sell reasonably priced delicious meals and despite having a lot of staff the demand is really high. I understand they can't possibly invest more time in making their plates more presentable as their aim is to cater to the high demand.. which is what you pay for. You can't expect Ritz service where you're only paying approx £10 for a main, can bring your own booze and are not even asked for a service charge. Having said that, I've been going to LKH for 7, 8 years now and I absolutely love their food. Their chicken and prawn Briyani, fish, haleem, everything is mouthwatering. My friends and I absolutely love the food at this place. LKH has been around for about 40 years for a reason.. the owner overseers while Emran and Asif run the show! Well done and way to go.
Though my recommendation would be to add service charge as the staff deserve tips :)

Whattay brilliant find on a late Saturday night dinner. Stumbled on this on Google Maps and decided to drop in at about 0030 hours for dinner. Ordered the Meat Biryani and Chicken roll. The biryani was 10/10 - huge serving sizes with great balance of spice and meat, would have ideally not wanted peas in it, but not a deal breaker. It literally reminded me of Karachi (Pakistan). The roll was huge also, but came wrapped in a roti (versus a paratha) against expectation. Cucumber and onions were a little overpowering, but overall not bad. Service is good and the lads are pleasant.
Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for desi food experience in East London.

Me and my brother went for lunch...we ordered 1 nihari 1 lamb chop curry & lamb Haleem.....Both Nihari &lamb chop was a pinch salt over and the Haleem was bland and hardly felt there was any meat...
Both Garlic and plain nan was good.
F. S.
Went there very early in the morning they were about to close but kind enough to serve us.
Food was good and so was the service.
Nice and clean big space.
Must try.

Without a doubt, one of the best South Asian restaurants I've ever had outside of South Asia. No matter how far Lahore Kebab House is from you, I promise you will never regret your visit.
S. C.
I used to go there in the 1980s and visited again yesterday. Still the same food and amazing value. Apparently it because they still have the same cooks. Sag gosht, plan nan and salad for £12.50. Still the original authentic flavours. My favourite restaurant in London for over 30 years and have seen it grow from 30 covers to over 600. We've stayed the same but everyone else has found us. Great place and you can bring your own drink
S. P.
I am based in the north but I will always make time to visit this place when down in London. Absolutely the best South Asian food you will get in London and very reasonably priced. Food quality is on point every time irrespective of how busy it is, kitchen delivers the food in excellent time and waiters are very attentive. Best part about the food is how little oil there is and how authentic everything tastes. Well done lads and I can't wait to come through again.
S. S.
Look, don't let the decor fool you. This place is understated but worth every penny. We had lots of different foods, and they were all fantastic. The rice was served cold, but a quick message to the server, and all was rectified without fuss.
I have dropped a star because the place is a little cramped for a large group, but other that, you won't regret coming here.
Fantastic.

A must for good food! Price, quality, taste and portion size are bag on the money. The entrees are definitely worth ordering so don't skip it. Acoustics terrible so it is loud due to all the table chatter but that is a small price to pay ;)
R. B.
Nice atmosphere, excellent place for family or friends hangout. Good price is also so competitive. In less budget u will get more food. Food was delicious. Love this place … I will go again and again .. lamb cops was so delicious.. paya was fresh ..I add also price list. So before go in that restaurant u can check the food price . Enjoy 😉
A. U. (.
Best Desi taste, and spice level. But be advised that you may have to wait before getting a table due to rush, which tells the fact that people love the taste
A. S.
Fast and efficient service
Tasty food offerings served up from a busy restaurant
I only went for a takeaway paneer wrap but it represented good value for money
Will happily come back for more when in the area again
A. R.
Had a big party of 16 and never visited this place before, the place was busy and luckily we reserved and got seated straight away. We had no clue on what to order but then the waiter Adam helped us out and gave us such a great experience, he told us not to worry and trust him and that we did the food was amazing and the staff was very friendly. Again shoutout to Adam for such great hospitality thank you will definitely be coming back with more friends
A. R.
Always great food and always get a table. BYOB (bring your own booze) and great value. Just he prepared for it to be busy and noisy, but the good food, speedy service and reasonable price make it a classic London institution.
P. M.
I visited this restaurant today. As i am from India and wanted to taste real authentic Pakistani food, I assure you the food was delicious. Owner and staff were warm and welcoming, specially after i told them i am from India.
5 stars for overall food and hospitality.
I. E.
Used to visit restaurant often some years back and only because work location moved have not been back regularly. This evening had a great meal over a family reunion. Service was fantastic, great care shown even though the whole restaurant was really busy. Food tasted fabulous. My favourite are the lamb Seekh kebabs, with a side dish of which there are many. Hope to visit back soon!!!
M. R.
Really good food, the lamb chops are especially great. It gets a bit chaotic when busy and you need to keep an eye on what your waiter actually brings you. Overall a really good place though. Not licensed si bring your own booze.
S. W.
Absolutely love this place. Great atmosphere, value for money, delicious food and bring your own alcohol. I love my Friday night's at Lahore. The dry lamb with a roti, I could eat all day long. Friday night is curry night #fncn 😋
P. G.
Great place to visit for authentic kebab, naan and Asian curries. All the starters, main and dessert tasted amazing. The father and son duo especially the son was so energetic and made sure that everyone got their orders served as quickly as possible. Will highly recommend
F. Y.
Not bad. Table staff look grumpy as f**k. Should smile more. Warm food served bar the naan. Starters warm. Both dishes warm. Not hot. Obviously they plate up in advance. Not cool. Food not amazing anymore, just good, should be better. Fresher tasting, more flavor, more garlic and ginger. Chicken curry was overcooked or day old meat as the chicken meat was just too soft.
M. C.
This is our go to place for authentic kebabs & traditional south Asian cuisine. The lamb tikka masala is an absolute MUST try item! Their kebabs are possibly the best in the whole of east London. I haven’t ate a single dish there which wasn’t fresh or tasted spectacularly good. Can’t wait to go back!
L. T. D.
What you pay is what you get.
Nothing to brag about.
One thing I noticed is that no one in the kitchen was wearing uniforms or hats.
N. G.
Amazing Indian food and love how you can bring your own drinks in!
A. S. S.
One of the best Indian/Pakistani restaurants in London. The service isn’t good but staff are nice wane friendly. This is the most authentic food you would ever find in the London city.
F. L.
Batera is unmissable, with some peshawari to dip. Lamb chops are great but seekhs potentially more memorable.
S.
Have heard good things about this establishment.
However on our 1st visit, I have tonsay we were not impressed with the food.
Lamb chops were tough and oily, and there was a lack of flavour.
Butter chicken was mediocre, it lacked seasoning.
That being said the shish kebabs were decent, had a course ground texture in the mince but could hae done with a touch of extra seasoning in the mix to make them something to remember.
Cheese chilli naans were pretty y decent and a good rounded flavour with the naans being cooked to perfection.
I can see there are a lot of positive reviews for this establishment, however im not sure if were were the unlucky ones or if the standards of quality control have deopped.
When you drive for 2 hours with friends and family, to a place that had they have visited previously and praise the food to the level my friends did and their sitting with you, just to realise that they are dissatisfied as much as we were make you think twice as to why we even made the trip this far.
Hope feedback helps the establishment

East London 1am early morning or late night. Most amazing and tasty food. One of the best tandoori parathas. Chicken Karahi is original Lahore taste. Rice with peas was very nice too. Nice and separate and a good size portion. However the Karahi Chicken was absolutely brilliant. Good size portion with many pieces of chicken and tasty Masala sauce (curry) with it. Delicious food.
B. H.
Great food. Loved that you can watch it being prepared. Bring your own drink with no corkage made the meal very reasonable too
M. K.
Food on the whole is good. They were extremely busy on Friday when I went but I think it was the usual weekend and ramadan iftar rush. We had lamb chops, chicken karai, seekh kebab, chicken leg. All were of a really good standard. It was busy and the staff were rushed off their feet but still polite and trying their best.
S. B.
By far the best authentic Pakistani restaurant around. Great for kebabs, lamb chops and naans. Can’t go wrong here, just wish it was closer to my home!
N. A.
Standard "Lahore" kebab food and service. Great food and prices. Lots of seating inside. There are some parking nearby but you may have to drive round to find it sometimes.
D. R.
Excellent restaurant to go with friends and family. Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
The food is out of this world - give the 'Nihari' a try with some garlic nan - everything fresh and authentic.
There's a reason why this place is so popular, they don't disappoint.
R. R.
Ordered from Uber eats and was completely blown away. Flavour combinations in their curries are seriously a class above. Lamb chops and kebabs were, as expected, insanely good. If it’s within your delivery zone, I would highly recommend ordering from here.
M.
Fast food pakistani cusine. I have been here a couple of times before and although it's not like a restaurant more like fast food establishment.
The service is okay. I understand the waiters are busy but when you walk in, no one rushes to you. You have to go looking for someone to seat you.
Also very noisy environment when it's busy, usually from boozed up folks.
Also eating space cleanliness is something they need to work on. Sometimes tables have a sticky residue.
The food comes quick which is good and bad as ut means the chef rushes your order and you neither get quantity or quality.
There are a couple of more places, around the vicinity to choose from. A few doors down you can go to Lahore one, although smaller has stellar reviews.
I'll have to try that one day.
If you want a quick curry, don't mind the service and noise you could go hear although note that menu items are a tad expensive for what you get and locality.
I'd be happy to pay their prices providing it is worth it and I'm sorry to say it isn't really worth it unless you don't have options.
S. D.
After a major let down by tayyabs who were useless from even before we arrived having booked months ago, lahore were total opposite. Looked after all 12 of us. Great food, authentic and tasty... And heaving. If you want real home cooked pakistani cuisine this is the place. Made the ocassion more special and got a nice large tip for proving that customer service truly pays. Go there, you won't be disappointed
A. J.
Amazing! I've never been to any Pakistan restaurant and this was my first time trying Pakistan kebab and curry. Food was delicious, service was fast, great value. Grilled lamb chops is a must have...
c.
Have been visiting this place for years, as well as the now closed Thornton Heath restaurant. Only ever eat the Sag Ghosht, Dahl, Chops and bread. All very tasty.
BYO too which is a huge bonus.
p.
Finally tried this place today got mixed grill which isn't on the menu just ask for it and they make it up for you, was lovely but mutton tikka was a little tough, chicken tikka, lamb chops were sheek kebabs were delicious as well as the chicken karahi. CASH only apparently saw one fella paid with card after he said he only had card guy got grumpy and got the card manchine.
PARKING IS A NIGHTMARE
N. I.
Food was good
Slightly pricey but worth the taste
Good improve deco and seating plan
It reminds me of typical South Asian diners, perhaps that what the owners wants
E.
Been here many times over the years, ain't been for a while though, great place & great food. I've got 2 questions, first of all do you have to book to eat here? do you show the football here including sky sports & bt sports?
S. B.
Food was ok-ish could of done with a lot more flavor and service could of been better as it seemed rush, got their and with in a minute before we even had time to look at the menu was asked what we want! Plus didn’t help that we were a party of 15 people (1 waiter serving us)and we asked for tap water and got given 2 jugs that were finished immediately so we had to repeatedly keep asking for water.
D. V.
The best curry I have had in London so far. The place may not have the best look, but what matters, the food, is really tasty, all one would expect from an original Indian cuisine, rich in flavour, be prepared and bring your wine.
J. S.
Fantastic Pakistani food at great prices! Highly recommendable, with lots of vegetarian options. The jug of lassi is such a great value!
They don’t sell alcohol but they put a bottle opener on the table in case you bring your own alcohol.
Z. A.
As I am vegan I went for the veg options, tasted great and very good/big portions. I'd say it's best to share as I did with my family. Service was good, we had 15 people so we reserved a table upstairs. Very spacious on the second floor, I think these floors are used for occasion such as weddings and big birthdays. The onion bhajis were my fave, different from your usual round onion bhaji, these were like chips so it was a pleasant change. The cassava chips or 'Chilli Mogo' on the menu were the only disappointment as these were super hard and dry even tho there was loads of the chilli sauce. All in all great service, good food and cheap prices!
N.
I’ve chosen that Pakistani restaurant by reading the commentaries and I’m not disappointed. The food was excellent, very tasty and generous but a little bit spicy. Inside it was the rush, everyone was running around and people entering in the restaurant every 4 mins.
Nevertheless , they can improve the decoration and the dessert « ras malai » was a bit expensive for the quantity.
W. M.
One of my favroites in London - of any restaurant, any food. May not look like much, but the food tastes like it should have a Michelin Star. Also love the byob
R. R.
Nice Pakistani/Punjabi food, ordered Lamb and chicken Sheak kebab, Butter chicken and Tandoori Paratha. Taste of the food is good. Bit noisy some people like as it replicates a atmosphere back at home, friendly service. Overall a decent place.
K. D.
Let me put it this way, I've known and been to this place for 20years. It's never failed to deliver just amazing food. I love the fact that they don't overprice and they are not interested in the deco. Let's face some people only go to restaurants to be seen and the food is little and overpriced, but not Lahore. Only in making you happy eating amazing food. Kebabs to curry... This is THE place. BYOB ...as well... p.s. ladies.... Your hair will have the after smell...but it's still worth it.😊
K. K.
After finally visiting Lahore Kebab House, which was recommended by lots of family and friends, I can say this is one of the best authentic restaurant's I have visited. The experience was phenomenal, the service itself was outstanding, waiters attending our table consistently to ensure everything was provided at its finest state. The food was served hot and fresh and made us feel like we were eating in India or Pakistan itself. The seating also accounted for this, despite this restaurant heaving with people as it was so busy, the staff had provided comfortable seating with extra seats. The food was freshly cooked as we had seen it being prepared in the kitchen by the amazing chefs. The staff had made us feel so welcome and provided anything which was asked. I would like to recommend this to anyone with a passion for real authentic food and a good night out!
E. W.
We had Lamb chops, Chilly Garlic Mogo (Cassava Fried Chips) & Garlic Naan (Flat bread) Served With Salad & Mint Chutney, everything was delicious and fresh! (I went to this restaurant as part of the Indian "Secret Food Tours London (Essor Ltd)" with tour guide Ravi Sharma.)
R. S.
Amazing food last night as always but blatantly lied to us about their card machine being broken so they didn't have to take payment from our group. Magically it started working after one of our group refused to go to the ATM.
M. R.
Cant believe I've only tried this today after living in East London all my life. Amazing Food. Nice Atmosphere. Lovely Staff. Cant wait to go back here to try other Dishes :)
R.
Most people come here because the food is top notch & reasonably priced, starters were samosas & seek kebabs & mains were king prawn curry & lamb karahi which myself & my friends all enjoyed. Can’t fault the service either which was friendly. Great place in East London for Punjabi cuisine.
S. P. N.
It's a hit and a miss.
Some days the food is amazing, some days it's ok.
The staff also somedays are super attentive. Somedays are non existent.
L. H.
Ahhhh Lahore!! Quite a few around East London. This is one of the best ..and oldest I believe. Big, lots of seating areas, lots of big screen TVs which is a bit odd, but seems to work.
Food tasty and made ultra fresh ...made on site, chefs & kitchen visible at work behind glass windows (always a good sign😉). Eat in, or take out. Authentic, halal, freshly made delicious food 😋😁
Reasonable prices and super fast service. That'll also explain why it's always so busy! But there are plenty of helpful service staff to look after your every need.
A. B.
This is a no-frills Pakistani restaurant that focuses on one thing and one thing only: good, authentic and hearty food. The kebabs were excellent with no artificial colors. The Nihari lamb curry was also excellent. Didn’t try their biryanis, but they looked good, too. Their low prices are a plus.
F.
The food was mouthwatering, kebabs and wings were delicious, my 9 year old wanted more ( which is very surprising as she is fussy), Bit pricey for a standard kebab House yet I'd go back again... however you can only park for an hour if you go before 6.30pm .
F. M.
One of the best authentic punjabi restaurants in the city and very lively atmosphere all round. Best place for Birthdays
J. R.
Went here because Action Bronson recommended it, maybe we went on a bad day but there was much to be desired from this restaurant but overall it was a decent experience
R.
Don't always get the meal perfect but great food and atmosphere nonetheless
R. M. (.
been coming here for 30yrs, never disappoints! the most authentic and best home cooked punjabi food available in London!
D. G.
It definitely lived up to its reputation! We visited on a Saturday night after finding several positive reviews and recommendations online and it didn't disappoint. My only regret was that we didn't arrive hungrier because the food was incredible and we couldn't finish it all. The portions are generous so check with your server before ordering too much. The lamb chops looked incredible, I'll definitely be ordering those when we come back
A. S.
Very close to Shadwell DLR and Aldgate East station - apart from authentic Lahore food, this place has got few surprises for all cricket fans.. Ambience is really great and staffs are very warm and friendly.. If you are facing difficulty in making the right choice, don't worry - they will suggest you the best (indeed the best) they have.. LEDs are placed at every corners for you to enjoy Cricket, Football or other sports while you are enjoying your meal. They do not have alcohols in the menu.. But they are okay if you get it from outside and prefer to have it with your meal.. They have good number of options for vegetarians as well..
P. B.
The food is amazing, especially the Dahl and the lamb chops. It has a Cafe/ canteen feel, with service to match. Great value for money.
W. C.
The original Lahore, can't complain they have not failed my once. Great place to eat in but as of covid-19 I can only order takeaways 😞.
S. H.
Good spot for a casual dinner. Curry lamb all the way. Don't expect a fancy ambience. If you want alcohol, you can get your own from the corner shop across the restaurant. Portions are medium-sized and nan and roti are great. Price is decent.
H. P.
Always good. Get a pitcher of mango lassie here a glass isn't enough. Great curry glad it's open again.
E. P.
Delicious, quick, cheap, what else can you ask for. 6/5 stars best spot in London. Would eat this every day if I could, honestly blown away by the taste.
v. r.
Great place to get the Indian style food, service was also great the staff also cooperative, the place was also packed.. best part is bring your own booze to the place!!
A. S.
Tasty food in reasonable price. The only thing which was not good was the hygiene of the place else everything was okay!
J. H.
Great food and very generous portions. Combine that with a fair price and you have a winner. Loads of seating available too. Picture of menu taken August 2020.
P. S.
Lamb chops were decent but karahi gosht was very average at best.
J. G.
Lovely food and hospitality, treated very well for moving tables. With a regular and given a few freebies but quite spicy!
P. K.
Tasty seek kabab, chicken kabab and chicken tikka masala with butter naan. Naan was so good. Anyone visiting this place must try naan.
C. G.
Food as always is top quality, bring your own booze and service first class. Best place to eat Indian food in East London!
M. R.
Very tasty food, reasonably priced. Bring your own drink. Lamb Chops are superb. Will return
A.
Got delivery. Lamb chops stand out. Food felt a little likely but the taste was excellent. Larger servings when dining in vs delivery hence the loss of 1 star.
s.
Great food, okish service...but whatever, it's Action Bronson approved! 💪🧔👌
D. H.
I’ve been coming here for 30 years since I was a kid. The place is an institution and have fond memories. The food is hit and miss. They could really cut down on the oil and perhaps add a bit more flavour. It’s nice to see people from all different backgrounds here eating and hopefully enjoying the food. Perhaps that’s one of the great things about this place is that it brings people together and has been doing so for so many years. Kudos to the team and hope they can maintain the consistency in the food.
a. s.
We had a great meal here last night. The food was fantastic! It is a pretty hectic and noisy place, but when we explained that one of our party, a hard of hearing vegan, was struggling to cope with the noise, they immediately moved us somewhere quieter. So full marks for service too!
d. b.
Food is really good. I finally got a taste of Biriyani in UK. Tried Nihari which was awesome.
I would recommend this place highly.
F. W.
Very very delicious food, an institution. There is also no corkage charge for bringing in booze, should one wish for more than a mango lassi.
M. S.
Dhaba esque setting, food was good however chef was definitely very generous with the salt. Lamb chops were okay, looks better than they tasted. The saag gosht and other curries we had were flavourful and spicy enough minus the extra salt! Not a bad meal, made better that you can byods. Sweet lassi wasn't bad either. Overall I'd say the place is okay, nothing spectacular and decently priced. Very very busy on Saturday night however but that's to be expected for the area
s. n.
have my Xmas get together with my work team here every year. food is top nosh!! the chops are to die for. you can byob if you drink alcohol. prices not too bad either and their haleem is lovely too
D. A.
I lived almost weeks in London during Aug 2018 with family and used to take my all meals take away from Lahore Kebab House. My family enjoyed the food very much. Specially seekh kabab was very very tasty and juicy. Loved it. Lamb chops were also too good. Dry lamb was also good in taste. Portion was big for each dish. Enjoyed a lot.
S. W.
Great food at great prices and, when I've been, mostly very good service too (given it can get very busy in there). Don't expect the cool, dark and suave ambience of an upmarket restaurant, it can sometimes feel like a school canteen or lunchtime in B Wing! But do expect a busy lively evening atmosphere (on a Saturday at least) and the best lamb chops and dry lamb you've ever had. It's BYOB too so you'll not have to suffer restaurant prices for boozy drinks though they do serve soft drinks (so no bringing your own bottles of Coke!).
N. C.
Loud atmosphere was OK, food was a bit disappointing lacked flavour (the curries) but the kofta kebabs and chops delicious
A. A.
Excellent food. Can be on the salty side at times but still the best food around.
Highly recommended
S. N.
My other half had the lamb keema and said it's the best he's had in London, I got the shahi mutter paneer and it wasn't super tasty but it was okay. The naan was perfectly cooked and the portion of bhajis was not only huge but really tasty, a bit of spice and just so much flavour. It's not a fancy upscale restaurant and the staff don't try too hard, come here for authentic food. The off license is around the corner so grab your Cobra there because it's a dry bar.
A. A.
Famous for its chops and serves fantastic chicken takeaway and naan too. Bring your own alcohol (there's an off licence over the road). The decor is simple and there's nearly always cricket playing on the TV screens and its less than a 10min walk to the nearest underground station.
M. U.
Food is ok but not like as used to be they are focusing on quantity not quality need to focus on quality we have been going there for more than 18 year
H. M.
Excellent food, authentic taste- not anglicised at all. If they could fix some basic issues it would be 5 stars. Glasses were dirty and dried with a smelly cloth (it seemed as the glasses smelt), cutely wasn't washed properly, the waiter wasn't very welcoming or happy to help it seemed and the the table was wobbling with every movement.
S. S.
Very busy on a Weekday, food was very decent and price were very reasonable. 10 mins walk to a tube station.
S. B.
Great food. Very authentic (I've eaten in village restaurants in India so I have a small idea)... and surprisingly veeeery affordable. I guess it's because we were allowed to take our own alcohol in so it didn't hike the price.
Well worth it and will go again
A. S.
The best in London for what they do truly a hidden gem , must go if you can . Every dish excellent, great service and take your own bottle. Wicked
M. K.
Really great grilled meats, especially the lamb cooked perfectly, medium rare as it should. Giving it 4 stars because the chicken karahi had only breast meat, and not leg meat like the staff said. Which meant that the meat was dry and flaky rather than moist and springy.
E. P.
Server was good, food was good. Manager is self entitled. I needed to ask for TP when I went to the washroom. He said the other toilet had one. If you have 2 toilets bother should have TP. Also clean your washrooms. The only reason I'm rating it as high as I am is because of the server. He made this experience.
M. Y.
One of my friends suggested me this restaurant saying it's one of the best. It was all right. The taste is good but not the best. The customer service was just not so good. The plates and the utensils were not clean. I don't I would ever go back to this place. Some people go crazy about this place. Well you would have to experience yourself.
J. H.
Best Pakistani/Indian restaurant in London for me!! Unique east end atmosphere. The decoration needs updating but incredible food.
Z. B.
10/10 best curry house in the whole of the UK! Every dish was smashing! I came down all the way from Scotland to have this curry with the Mrs. Thanks again Lahore Grill! Good times good experiences better hosts!
S. S.
Chanp and biryani was very good. Didn't like the mutton karahi.

Always delicious and affordable. Best Indian-style takeout in an area with lots of strong competition.
J. O.
Best curry house in London authentic Pakistan food , bring your own superb value..love coming here
G. O.
Good food, great energy and lots of space. Most importantly it is Bring your Own Beer (BYOB). Had about 17people, though booked in advance.
G.
Not understand the hype that the meat was quite burned, for naan bread I think dishoom is so much better. It’s a byob and spacious eatery that do the job and price shall be great.
S. T.
Looks like a dive but in reality is so delicious. Veg and fish food is also very spicy which as a pescatarian I can appreciate 😂👍 Doesn't serve alcohol but the off license across the road will happily sell to you.
F. L. F.
Weird place. Service is very "unrefined", food and quantities really good. Price quite low. If you're armed with the right attitude, you'll have a good dinner.
R. s.
Really enjoyed it, my friend Adrian Benson said they have the best chips and curry sauce in town. Said first thing he will do after getting out of the can is go to Lahore
M.
Went after many years and place hasn’t changed much apart from being modernised. Still great food and service. Menu not the biggest but then again you want limited choice but freshly made.
Drinks: it’s bring you mr own and with an off licence just opposite it great cheap way to start..
Starters: Lamb chops are to die for!! Wings were great. Not much choice for veggies though, chilli paneer and samosas
Mains: chicken curry, lamb curry, daal, Rice and fresh hot buttery naan what more do u need..
Fantastic cheap place for in pretentious good food.. should cost you no more then £25 per person inc drinks
Will try and go at least once couple of months all the way from Harrow. 10mins walk from Aldgate stations
M. A.
The best India food you can have in london kept secret for over 50 years
R. M.
Perfect seekh kebabs, no nonsense food and great prices. Not for taking instagram pictures, its a place to just eat and enjoy food.
H.
Kebabs were fantastic as they are still cooked over a open fire ( most places put them in a tandoor oven ) Karai ghost was alittle disappointing , tasted like a ordinary meat curry . Avoid the samosas as they look like they been sitting there for years . Naan and tandoori roti are the best I’ve eaten anywhere and massive ! The place is Not like the old days sorry to say .hygiene is extremely poor , place needs a good clean up and do not use their wash rooms for obvious reasons . Please bring back the old karai ghost and clean the place up , then it’s back to 5 stars .
R. C.
Excellent food and service, can also take in your own alcohol beers and spirits.
M. A.
Visited this place after almost 26 years and i wasn't disappointed as the food was really nice, Karahi Gosht was absolutely delicious, Lamb Chops were not the best I have ever had but they were still pretty tasty. Mango Lassi was divine, probably the best Mango Lassi I have ever tasted. Only slight downer for me was that it was way too loud, instead of the football on the TV, it would have been nice if some music was played on the speakers. Other than that, all good for, would definitely recommend and visit again soon hopefully this time. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
C. B.
Best curry house in the east end Chop curry top notch dine in thou and meet the staff
L. M. F.
Great and tasty food, don't get badly impressed by the restaurant appearance
G. d.
Best asian food in e2 area atleast the biryani is not curry and rice mixed together
E. B.
Food was decent, but I've had much better curries elsewhere, and it's definitely not somewhere I'd bring people for dinner.
Waiters are all incredibly surly, a smile wouldn't go amiss, also masks are on waiter's chin if on at all.
Wouldn't go out of my way to return.
(quick tip to the restaurant, clean the inside of the toilet doors in the ladies - they're filthy, and someone has even written 'ew' in the dirt, they just need a spray and wipe)
F. F.
Oooh Lamb chops are from another planet here!
The greasy laminated menus and 'offensive' acoustic won't stop me from going back again to this amazing canteen and enjoy their skillfully prepared delicacies!:)
E. P.
Food here is good, not to die for, ingredients chosen aren'tthe best.
I would stick with a chicken dish. Although the starters are quite nice.
Bring your own drinks if you like. Hope you're not in too much of a hurry as the service can be a bit slow at times, its biggest let down.
C. L.
Great lamb chops, cheapest curry in the city and shows live sport.
H. S.
This is the best food there is. 5 stars not enough. Get stuff from the grill and and naan and you cannot go wrong. Authentic taste, quick service and very reasonably priced.
A. S.
Amazing! Food was superb and service was excellent, could not fault
D.
Good food, tables need more of a wipe down, bit sticky but everything else was ok, apparently very busy in evenings. I'd recommend them.
Grilled food very nice.
J. K.
Absolutely love the food, Lamb chops to die for, We drove all the way down from Leicester,
P. 9.
Fantastic food available here. Wheelchair accessible with a disabled toilet on the ground floor.
m.
Had the dry lamb curry, which was excellent (not as dry as name suggests) Generous portions of rice and large naan's.
Just wished I'd ordered the lamb chops and biryani, they looked amazing. Good excuse for another visit in the future.
G. S.
Absolutely fantastic . Great food , brilliant service , amazing atmosphere and made to feel welcome . Was not rush to eat , was left to get on with our group meet up , but was on hand when needed .
Did I say how good the food was . 🤔
I. M.
Good food and staff.
The best kebab that I have eaten in London and the staff it's very friendly.
T. G.
Massive place with full 2 floar seatings. Located is near East India Docks.Food Menue is over price than East side but amazing atmosphere! I was in rush and did not get chance to buy much to eat. Will update about the food tast in near future !
Ps: roads are narrow near this place with mostly double yellow lines but I noticed, parking restriction here finishes at 5.30pm
A. T.
I had a wonderful meal here tonight and the service was excellent.
P. P.
Went here for the first time in years. Our thoughts: The food is quite nice but it's not amazing. While the keema peas is great and the naan's are excellent. The masala fish isn't the best, not horrible, still good but underwhelming.
The service though is excellent! They were very busy and we were thinking once they took our order they'd forget about us or be extremely slow but no, they were surprisingly quick and despite being under pressure, they were still very friendly.
Overall, while the staff are excellent, the food, while good, isn't amazing as there are better places to eat out.
Also, warning, this place is extremely loud when busy so take that as a warning if you decide to go for dinner.
F. B.
Great flavours. Lamb chops and nihari are brilliant. Not the cleanest of places but it isn’t advertised as such. Prices very reasonable too apart from the popodoms - those were a little expensive at £1 a piece.
J.
Pure Authentic Pakistani food. I had chicken and lamb curry. Both were very delicious. The chicken tikka was also very tasty. Definitely recommend 👍🏽
A. N.
The food was good. Had alot of meet.
V. M.
Excellent kababs and other meat dishes... Highly recommended. You'll probably end up overeating as you just won't be able to stop eating...
N. G.
Awesome. Unknown and better for it. Don't go here, go somewhere else that will disappoint you.
E. W.
Lovely food quick service and affordable
C. N.
Food was outstanding and service great. Very authentic as could have been in Lahore. Loved it
S. K.
Outstanding Lahore food. Everything is delicious.
M.
Cheap and cheerful curries and naan to compliment your meal. BYO. Expect lines but high turnover and worth the wait. You won't be disappointed.
M. C.
Been going here since a very young age with the owner and most staff knowing me. The food never let's me down brilliant taste with all sorts of flavours ranges of the curries etc you can. Food is always on point and perfect when having a weekend cheat meal with the family 👌🏼
M. U.
Food is of a high standard and tastes very authentic for Pakistani cuisine. I especially enjoyed the freshly made naan bread. Reminded me of Pakistan!
B. B.
Top food and you can bring your own booze
F. S.
Still good food but prices have gone much higher than they used to be. Its the influx of people from city who have discovered it in the last 5 years. So not the value it was.
M. C. (.
One of the original if not the oldest Lahore kebab houses in london serving the East london community but attracting a wider clientele from far and beyond. Very good portions in all dishes and open till late. Only let down is they allow to bring your own booze which is a bit off putting.
S. N.
This is 100% the best Pakistani cuisine you can get. The absolute best lamb chops and kebabs. And the currys are to die for. You can't beat it.
R. S.
Love food great place to eat out with the family
S. K. V. G.
Great food, vegetarians have good verity of food..
J. B.
Food is amazing, one the best meat biryani's I've ate however customer service from the lady isn't which is why I have rated it a 3 star
F. D.
An institution. Incredible food, every time.
K. A.
Used to be the best food in the town but visited today after many years but I was very disappointed with the level of service plus the food quality was not the same as before
C. H.
If you want opulence & comfort when you eat out forget it here. But if you want the very best & genuinely authentic Indo subcontinent cooking this has it. 99.9% of Indian/Pakistani restaurants in the entire UK are not in the same league as this place.
This is the real deal. If you like this food make sure you visit Lahore. Enjoy..
M. A.
Excellent Pakistani food choice. Authentic, decent prices and great selection.
Would recommend that they address their delivery challenges during this pandemic. It’s not a great experience and let’s the restaurant down.
S. S.
Can't fault it. Been numerous times and it just gets better and better. Lamb chops and seekh kebabs are to die for. BYOB too!
I. M.
Good value food. Can get noisy
J.
The chicken tikka kebab naan rolls are insane!!!
m. f.
Used to visit here regularly before and have to stay the food didn't taste quite the same anymore. Lamb chops were nice but not as amazing as they used to be and the mixed grill was also mediocre. Friendly staff and good service overall
F. S.
The family and I have been eating here for years. The quality and taste of food is consistently second to none. The informal and friendly environment provides a feeling of being back home in Pakistan. Excellent value for money. This is as authentic as it gets with everything on the menu. We love it and can not recommend enough. Go try it yourself to believe this is a gem of a place to eat in London. Keep it up LKH, we look forward to many many great experiences to enjoy in the future.
Best regards
Faisal

This place is under rated!
As an Asian, I'm particularly fussy with Indian/ Pakistani food...I was pleasantly impressed with the standard of food... Don't be put off by the decor! Go and have a curry!
A. S.
One of the best Desi non veg food eaten so far in London. Quick service. Place gets crowded, book ahead.
L. O.
This typical Punjabi restaurant serves up some of the best food this side of Amritsar! Its BYO too which means its happy times when it comes to paying the bill. The food is classic Punjabi cuisine and my personal favourites are the Dal, the King Prawns and the fish curry. Though meat-eating friends say the lamb chops and the kebabs are fantastic. Its big and its loud but the service is great. The kitchen is open so you can see the chefs beavering away cooking up a storm. Its just perfect for a night out with a big group of friends. I celebrated my last birthday here with 25 of my friends and we had a fantastic time. Highly recommended!!
Y. B.
Very authentic and flavorful food. We tried a range of curries, meats, and vegetarian options- the spices were on point and there was a great complexity of flavours.
The naan bread is highly recommended too
Quite a busy restaurant but there's ample space for people to be seated.
The waiter might be running a large area of the restaurant by themselves so it pays to be a little patient on a busy day
Also seemed to be a BYOB place from the looks of it for those interested
p. v.
Hi, I think the place was really good on the whole and hence the 4/5. The place was large and spread out, very simple looking. The service was efficient, the food came quickly. The food was authentic, although the non-vegetarian dishes were somewhat oily. the taste was very similar to what you eat back home. I read some really negative and misleading reviews and was hesitant before I went there but was happy to be proved wrong. We sat comfortably for an hour after finishing to eat and no one objected. The byob policy is a plus. Great value for money, would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for Pakistani/ north Indian cuisine.
S. T.
Still one of my favourite curry houses of all time. The restaurant is very basic, but the food is absolutely delicious!
Is BYOB, which there is no corkage fee, and there are a couple of TVs dotted around.
Can get very busy, but is worth the wait if there happens to be one.
W. M.
Incredibly fast and tasted fresh and authentic, with a lot of choice. The plate of bhajis alone were enough to make Me go back.
M. R. A. B.
A good place to fill up your desi temptation. It's a large place to accommodate small to large groups. A wide variety of traditional food is available and all of it is tasty. They do have a separate family hall as well.
It would be great if they could improve their interior.
A. C.
What can I say? I was so surprised when I discovered the food was beyond my expectations. Yes it can be very loud in the restaurant when is busy, but doesn't matter when the food is sooooo good.😊I really do recommend to visit this restaurant.
K. K.
I think this place is about what you would expect. The food was very delicious and tasty, well spiced as I understand Pakistani cuisine goes. The prices were quite cheap, so great value for money. The service was appalling though. The waiter has not said a single word while we were there, took our order and delivered our food in several rounds without uttering a single word... Just kept nodding and shaking his head as an attempt to "communicate" with us. But then again, you would expect this from a place like this (such is my personal experience anyhow) so I'm not letting that influence my rating. As long as you have your expectations set the right level, you'll have a blast. Good food, great prices, that's all folks.
d.
Cheerful and honest, but can get rowdy.
The main points in favour are: it’s well-priced for London; the food is decent; the portions are generous; and it is BYOB for alcohol. Worth mentioning that although their speciality is kebab/skewers, they do perfectly good curries too.
The negatives? Nothing glaring. The decor and set-up is pretty simple, but that’s fine: it’s not as if it’s pretending to be anything different than an honest, family-run restaurant. Toilets could be cleaner. I will say, though: I’ve been twice (both times on a Friday), and it got pretty rowdy at around 9.30pm. That’s the problem with a BYOB kebab house in London, I guess: lots of city boys out on the lash. Wasn’t a huge issue for us, but just worth bearing in mind.
EDIT: oh, one final thought - you definitely need to book. This place is super popular
S. D.
Don't let the simple decor fool you. Even just thinking of the food here has me salivating. BYO alcohol, portion size is great, very fair price for London standards. The service isn't amazing but it's by no standard bad. Well deserved 5 star rating for THE BEST curry you can possibly get in London.
M. S.
Great service and great food. The lamb chops are particularly good. The environment is basic but has real atmosphere. Word of warning, it gets really busy Thursday and Friday nights. You may have to queue. Also it does not have an alcohol licence, but you can byo. There is an off licence a few meters away.
Z. M.
The food and hospitality was amazing !
The staff are very very welcoming, all the staff great host. The fact you can see where the food is prepared is amazing and a top bonus.
The food was amazing ! such great flavors, the more you eat the more you want.
I will definitely be coming back, so look out for me !
R. P.
Always good value food and service 🙏
T. G.
Certainly an experience. Awesome curries and grilled meat. Good atmosphere. Don't expect too much service-wise.
N. P.
Not a plush restaurant, interior basic. However, the lamb curry is the best I've ever tasted anywhere in the UK! Reasonably priced. Very busy every time I've visited. You can bring your own alcohol. And see what's happening in the kitchen through a large glass window.
R. K.
Great atmosphere one guy cooking nan's all the time 😋
W. F. A.
Have been coming to this restaurant for many years - food is amazing. I would recommend lamb chops, lamb kebabs, karai ghosht and daal.
K.
Excellent customer services so considerate and ready to help. We were given the upstairs area to use exclusively at no extra cost and was given the best hospitality.
The food was delish too! Would 100% recomend
J. U.
The food was lovely and the staff were great, been here a couple of times however it does get really busy and you do sometimes have to wait to be seated. The pricing is OK I wouldn't say it's great due to the fact I think the portion sizes are small for what you pay for. If you're looking for a peaceful meal this is definitely not the place to go as you can barely hear the person that's opposite you since it's very busy and everyone is talking.
N. A.
Food could be better as lacking in flavour but they are very friendly people. Will be ordering again soon.
R. B.
Delicious food and pretty fast service. Enjoyed the veggie options too. Experienced the jug concept for the first time for mango lassi. 🙂
A. S.
Table staff are polite and friendly but the food / overall quality has taken a bit of a dive over the past few years. Appreciate Friday nights / weekends are very busy and it’s a stack em high sell em cheap cram in as many punters on to seats thing - but my last visit left a bit to be desired, cold curries and some grilled items were a little undercooked for my liking.
A. M.
Inhaled my extra spicy chicken and it was fabulous. Portion sizes are definitely for two, so bring a friend or a takeaway container. Fast, friendly service. Great for a quick, casual meal.
N. G. A.
Chicken tikka was bad but rest was good particularly murgh cholay n lamb jalfrezi which was a risky order. Garlic naan were properly covered with garlic unlike some other restaurants though the butter naans didn't smell of butter rather just oil. The waiter arrived in 10 sec to take our order as soon as we seated which was odd, n the food arrived in 3 mins. The staff was friendly n always available, n the manager told me to order chicken karahi n lamb chops next time as its their specialty, might try it sometime. However, don't expect the place to look appealing or clean.
Z. M.
I always suggests to my friends & work fellows to visit this restaurant. For a proper dinner, this restaurant comes on top of my list. All sorts of Indian & Pakistani food in menu. well mannered team.
S. C.
Great place for non veg food. Chicken and lamb
M. L.
Visited on a Wednesday evening and had no problems getting a table.
The lamb chops for starters were great. I had a chicken chaat for mains which was nice, although a little mild for my liking. Good food and very cheap. Not the best looking establishment however you wouldn't expect it for the price
H. J.
A taste of Pakistan including some of the staff speaking English a bit and behaving more relaxed than seen as standard for the staff in UK which I find a huge advantage. Super tasty food, quite affordable. The best thing is bring your own alco policy. Might be busy on Friday evenings because of the above. I am a regular customer. A nice mix of people from different status backgrounds...
S. D.
Awesome food. So tasty. The lamb chops are epic. The kebab roll was also damn good, especially for the price. Service is a bit erratic but it was super busy. Bring your own booze is another plus. Looking forward to going back already.
P. S.
Really good food, bring your own booze so can eat like a king and keep the bill down
J. H.
This is the best curry in London. The dry lamb and the lam Karahi are absolutely out of this world. Such rich and delicious flavours.
The onion bajiis are perfect. So crispy and you get loads!
Staff are friendly but waiting staff often seem really really busy and overworked.
A. E.
Have the sheek kebab in nan and the lamb Karachi or chicken Karachi its amazing plus thr shop is open till late so its always there for the anytime of day filla you up when you are ina rush fast and convenient food. Definitely recommend them dishes not really had any other dishes from here.
J. D.
Great restaurant serving traditional Asian food. Nothing fancy but very God and very recently priced. 2 people could quite easily eat well here for under £30. They don't sell alcohol but there is an off licence next door where you can buy you're own and take it in with you. Everybody must try the grilled lamb chops, delicious
A. H.
It's the best place for Asian food in London, good value for money. Eat there once and you will want to go back there again and again
S. K.
Ordered a takeaway biryani, channa daal, couple of sheek kebabs and naan breads. Not totally sure if the quality is slipping or the competition out there is getting so much better. I'd like to think the latter as would hate to see the demise of this famous local that I have visited a few times down the years.
S. M.
The best buttery naan bread I have ever had and I'm not a big fun of it in a first place. The lamb curry, marinated chicken, spinach with potatoes were just amazing. You can bring your own booze and have a table with lots of friends. It's very busy. The food is made in no time. The interior design well who cares when you have such a delicious food with bunch of friends 😁😁😁
A. A.
Great food. Have been going there for many many years.. I have sampled majority of the menu from outstanding grills to flavoursome dishes.. cannot fault them.. the only downside which is no fault of the owners is the size and cleanliness of the restaurant as it's so popular.. sometimes it's difficult to maintain. However great Pakistani and Asian food..
S. S.
This has to be the best curry house in London. The food is absolutely amazing. The dishes are prepared on a daily basis and you can taste that it is fresh. The service is quick and efficient. The value for money is exceptional. I took my own bottle of wine which I bought from Wapping Wines and I must say it complimented the food magnificently.
T. H.
Outstanding. Never a bad meal at the Lahore. Their dry lamb curry is absolutely superlative
A. R. B. I.
I've been using this place for many years..food is still very tasty but not as before. I could give it 4 or 5 star's if the service was better from the waiter's and cleanliness of table's and cutlarys would be an improvement..above all presentation of staff non-uniformed and wearing unhygienic clothing and no proper communication skills with customers. The atmosphere is too loud and noisy you have to yell to hear each other and the toilets need more cleaning. I could have wrote more bad reviews but everyone deserves a chance to improve..overall the food and pricing gets 3 star's. Try yourself sometimes the service and food goes really well but most of the time do i need to say more.?
R. C.
I came into the Lahore Kebab House on Friday night for a Christmas season get together and the chicken food tasted great! The service felt very quick as well in terms of the food arrival time. The guys on shift including the manager were all really friendly to me as well!
Thank you for your time again - I appreciated it!
Raza =)
P.S. Thank you also for charging the phone with low battery for me - I appreciated it!
K. P.
Excellent Indian/Pakistani style Kebabs and dishes. First time I have eaten heartily in London in months! The Tandoori rite was slightly better than the naan, and the Methi Chicken was great. efficient and friendly service. Clean bathrooms! A bit noisy and crowded at lunch but well worth the walk to get there. Recommend it highly.
N. M.
The best Indian/Pakistani food I've ever tasted other than my parents' cooking. The food here has lots of flavour, tastes great and is very affordable. The staff are very helpful and accommodating to requests and questions. It's not for those who want fine dining but these place is hard to beat on taste and price.
P.
Tasteful food. I liked the spices as I’m used to them.. honest prices for a good portion of food. I needed a doggy bag which was free of charge. Thank you for a trip down memory lane. Will come back when I’ll be in London again!
R. W.
The places is legendary, and rightly so. I tend to come for the lamb chops, get a couple of plates worth between the table and a curry on the side to share. Makes for a fantastic dining experience.
The guys that work there and run the place are an efficient machine and the food comes flying out no sooner than you have ordered.
You have to try Lahore once in your life, it’s a no frills culinary diamond in the rough, but you will come back. I promise.
H. H. S.
Service was great, food was really good too. Was clean and spacious for the pram to get through even when it was quiet busy.
B.
Located in the back streets of the old East End, the old establishment is as good as ever. Prices may have gone up but the food is amazing. Great place to eat with friends and enjoy a curry and cobra beer. Bonus is you can bring own alcohol.
D. P.
Just brilliant. The food is excellent, and being a "bring your own bottle" you pick up some drinks at the very well stocked corner shop opposite and have an amazing meal for next to nothing.
The restaurant is huge. It can get busy at peak times, but there are plenty of diners coming and going so you rarely have to wait long. The interior is scruffy (formica tables, etc.) and the service is slightly brusque but efficient.
Great for groups or a casual get together.
B.
Excellent food.
The kebab was excellent, the lamb was excuisit and the prices are reasonable.
The nan are good but could be a bit better as the rest of the food is excellent.
Service is fast.
The restaurant is also quite noisy so not recommended for a date, more for a night out with a large group of friends.
Really recommended this place.
U. Y.
Great taste and very economical menu.
The food was served a bit cold but maybe because i visited in late hours.
Service is a bit slow during rush.
Completes the crawing for Pakistani/Desi food well.
*Recommended*
A. D.
Basic service. Basic non existent decor. IPL on in the background (I appreciated it but I don't think anyone else did). But it is all about the meat here. Lamb chops, any meat from the tandoor was perfect. Curries were good but not the very best
C. C.
Don't be fooled by the prison-visits-room decor, this place has some of the best and reasonably priced Indian food in town. Everything I had off the menu was excellent. This is not your bog standard provincial tandoori kitchen with thick carpets, sitar music and breathmints on your way out. Incredible food, no frills. Bring your own beer.
A. M.
If you want good authentic Pakistani food at a reasonable price, there arent many better. Don't come here expecting the greatest service and fancy decor - come with an open mind and a desire to eat good food and you won't be disappointed. The seekh kebabs and lamb currys are my favourites - plus is BYOB. Great spot, have been visiting for years.
.. B.
I first came here in around '88 or '89. It was a tiny shack serving only their excellent kebabs, with bread (roti), salad and the spicy yoghurt sauce. It only had like 3 tables with benches seating around 30 or so hungry customers. It's changed a lot since then. Success has led to growth, with owners gradually having taken over all of the neighbouring properties, and they can now cater for probably around 500. The menu has also grown, along with the prices, but the place has lost more than just its charm from the early days. I still recommend it, and suggest grabbing a kebab roll if your just passing by, or the Karahi dishes if you're stopping. But it isn't for the lightweight... everything is very spicy. They dont do mild, even if they say it is! You've been warned.
D. T.
Average curry, packed, sort of place you go when your drunk... Has bring your booze policy so could be a cheap meal, but also attracts lager lout type people. Food is average... Knocked up quickly, and served just as quick.
Cafe style dining instead of a restaurant.
In my opinion not suitable for families with young children.
S. H.
Great, really great, food...that's it. Don't expect (nor will you get) good service or spotlessly clean environment.
Our typical group consists of Asians (Bangladeshi and Pakistani) brought up on Indian food or a work group with mixed backgrounds (English, Bangladeshi, Caribbean, African), so far only one person hasn't liked it.
M. S.
I am visiting from Canada and had dinner here tonight. Service was great. Very polite and answered any questions I had about the menu. The food was delicious! Best authentic Indian cuisine! Definitely a must to try! 😁 See you next trip over seas!
B. P.
Fab. Very generous portions and delicious food. Top tip: the kitchen is large so they already have most of the food prepared. So best to under-order dishes because anything extra you might need you can order mid-meal and it will arrive very quickly.
A. G.
The best Pakistani Punjabi restaurant in London i have been to this far. They are byob and have great service. Lamb chops, sheek kebabs, nihari, dal tadka and channa are amazing. Cant wait to go back
A. T.
Nice and cheerful place. Very basic decor but don't let this put you off. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. You do have to like spicy food though even the non-spicy food has a little bit of spice in there.
B. N.
Don't mistake this for the other restaurants in the area with similar names. This restaurant is epic. Portions are generous, service is as snappy as can be expected, and the food is divine. And there's a great off licence directly next door. Go on Thursday for the dry lamb curry. Hell, go every day.
p. n.
We visited this place after the nearby Tayyabs had let us down on the lamb chops. The dish was definitely better than the former, but still not as tasty as it should be. Also a crowded place with lot of noise. Has a bring your own booze policy, which is good. Service is fast. Biryani portion and taste was good too.
J. T.
Always good food! Lamb chops, chicken tikka, King prawn curry & keema naan tasted amazing
V. V.
I have been going to Lahore kebab house for over 20 years. It's a great place for Indian food. Paya is perfect. This is not a class restaurant but you cant beat the food quality and the flavour.
You wont go wrong visiting here for food. Service is fantastic and very courteous.
m. m.
Thet food at this place is always traditional consistent and tasty. They have been around for over 40 years
W. M.
This place is awesome for a genuine Punjabi experience in London, the food is excellent, the staff super friendly and is great for large groups. Come if you are a tourist for authentic cuisine, you won't regret it. Can't recommend enough!
A. W.
I used to love this place 5-10 years ago, but on the last 2 visits I was unimpressed. The legendary lamb chops have got smaller, tougher and were greasy.
Staff are surley, but that's part of the deal.
Still a fun experience, but there are better places in the meantime

This is a place for great indian food. Fast, quick and very well priced. You can take your own alcohol and there is plenty of seating with sports events shown. My rating is for the no nonsense aspect of this place. Dont go of you are fussy about service. This place is all about the food and price. Open until 4 am. We go out pubbing and or clubbing and end the night with a curry and night cap. Been multiple times and the good far outweigh the bad.

BYOB curry house, great tasting food and quick service. Huge space easily caters for large groups. Set menu is expensive, better to go a la carte as it will work out cheaper unless the group can really put away a ton of curry.
House specialities were miles ahead of a lot of the generic places on brick lane, it’s a bit out of the way but definitely worth a trip. I’ll definitely be going again.

Food fantastic but a bit expensive. Overall definitely worth a visit for a meal second to none!
T. K.
After picking up the order, we had the actual food within 5 minutes! Good amount, great tastes and nice staff members.
It looks quite hectic organized but it works great!! Big thumbs up.

Visited this restaurant after approx 9 years! Very authentic pakistani food! Lamb chops are way better than the well known place not to far from this joint. Amazingly quick service and food was 10/10! A shame its 40 odd miles away or else this would have been a regular place to visit!

I just loved the food , which is just delicious, we have never had food delivered to our table so fast ,I think they have about 20 in the kitchen you must take your own liquor as it is Halal, plus there is no decor, but you are going good the curries
G. C.
The food here is very nice and a good price too. This place is very popular but luckily it has lots of room. They do not serve alcohol but there is a conveniently placed off licence just next door if you fancy a beer. They are happy for you to bring your own alcohol.

Very unassuming and a completely no frills experience. But food is VERY GOOD and I would go back for this. Butter chicken is surprisingly spicy (so careful if you are spice wary) but the chicken korma is possibly one of the best curries I've ever had. Lamb chops are worth a shout too. Should I mention its also BYOB.
K. S.
this place was highly recommended from a chicago friend, and it did not disappoint. looked closed from the front, but the entrance is on the side and when you enter, you realize it's quite busy. neighborhood and the restaurant were a bit dingy, but the food here more than made up for it. really some of the best indian food we've ever had anywhere! still dreaming about it. service was super quick but didn't loom over the table. when we return to london, we plan to eat here at least a couple times. so good!
V. M.
As excellent as always, full of interesting characters who have also come for the divine curries.
J. A.
Amazing food and customer service was right up there. Highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic Pakistani cuisine, good portions and reasonably prices. I will be going back again and again! Ideal for any event.
F. M.
I went here on my birthday as I desperately wanted some Pakistani Punjabi cuisine. Cheap and cheerful with decent portions. Food can be a bit oily and the paratha was nowhere near as good as mum's, but I'll go back again and again.. Yum.

Food was amazing. Lamb chops are soft and juicy, naans are fluffy and light and service was lovely- Friendly, smiley and quick. Took our two little ones too, very accommodating.
S. R. R.
Food quality and behaviour of staffs are ver good...obviously foods are tasty
f. l.
really yummy food. i enjoyed the kebabs and other snacks we ordered. i was stuffed by just the starters and i let the family finish off the main courses. everything was full of flavor and the chicken was well marinated.
A. B.
Went with friends #EatOutToHelpOut good choice of foods. Had karai and chicken jailfrizi. Unfortunately restaurant is a bit untidy. Must have been busy Thus us no nonsense. Just plain simply put food. They gave us the government discount. Food is ok.
J. S.
Better than anything on Brick Lane. Lamb chops are the pick of the menu.
S. C.
Authentic and delicious Pakistani food.
M. K.
If you are keen on great kebabs this is the place to go. I had the prawn biryani which was excellent. It's not licensed but there is a liquor shop right next door and you can do a BYOB.
We were group of employees from varied countries. All of us enjoyed.
Recommended.

Been coming here since I was a child and honestly you can never go wrong with the food.
Top quality!
M. K.
Lovely food, tasty and delicious. Service might put you down sometimes as it’s a busy busy restaurant. Quite noisy if you visit during the rush hour but I strongly suggest to visit once at least to get a taste of authentic Pakistani cuisine. And if you are visiting with a group of friends or colleagues, do order jugs of mango lassi ;)
A. H.
Great place to enjoy great Pakistani food at it's best with family and friends
B. R.
Best Pakistani kebab house in Central London. All dishes are delicious but the stand out are the lamb chops and paneer starters. The service can be poor with occasional incorrect orders, inattentive waiting staff and rush to kick you out to clear the table particularly when it's busy.
A. M.
Visited in the afternoon on a weekend around 3pm. Not the most fantastic food for the price. service was terrible. It could be that during the nights when it gets busy they have better service but our waiter was a statue. Asked for advice he gave non and told us to read the menu. When we pressed for suggestions he read us the whole menu in order we had to tell him to stop. Biryani is not bad we got chicken biryani would recommend especially due to taste but not due to portion size. The Chicken karhai is not recommended as it had absolutely no taste. The chicken tikka roll is good value for money you get chicken boneless tikka pieces in a naan with chutney. The naan prices are way better then dishoom and super fair. But the food taste and service could be much better I would rather end up in London at dishoom for this price point.
B. D.
Great food & service. Everyone raved about the lamb chops. Tasty but fatty
A. S.
Not as good as it used to be. Had a late lunch there today and the food didn't taste that fresh - how could it have been when it arrived in under five minutes from order?
H. R.
Plenty of seating. The decor is basic but the food is fantastic. I went for the seekh kebabs and karahi gosht. Absolutely wonderful. Price only came to £20 for the two of us. I would definitely recommend.
D. R.
The service and food was perfect. We had been recommended this place and it definitely didn't disappoint! Get yourself there!
h. k.
Been here a few times, food is always good and service is quick. If you go in a large group then you will be seated upstairs where the restaurant looks more like a hall, but do not get put off by this as this adds to the atmosphere. Bring your own bottle too, good place if you fancy good food and with a large group.
A. T.
Great traditional Lahore food. Lamb chops are the star on the menu. No bar but there is an off licence next door and your can take your own drinks. Can get very busy so would recommend you book a table. Only downside is that service can be a little slow if your seated upstairs.
Y. A.
Best Pakistani restaurant I have been to everything cooked to perfection. Service is a bit poor. And place is a little dirty but the place is so busy so do understand that. Lamb chops are a must. This is the place to go in London for authentic Pakistani food
J. A.
Have been ordering from them and going in to pick up. Lahore kebab house is famous but the food speaks for itself. ❤
S. A.
Top place for family, friends. Great atmosphere and like lovely food. Chops and Nihari are my favourite and the variety of naans
G. A.
Well priced, easy access via tube and oh the nihari is just awesome
Have tried almost all the stuff in the menu, but Nihari and tawa parathas simply stand out, chicken kebabs are nice too..
Don't bother with the pakoras as they are too oily.
The chicken dishes are all fine but sometimes the lamb dishes have that "gamey" odour which some people like me cannot bear
c. k.
I am amazed by the negative reviews i read. Have been coming here for years and you can't get better. I have eaten in Lahore and this matches the best i had there - it is simply the most authentic curry in London. As for the space - it is canteen like but that is just part of the atmosphere. It is noisy and you either get to watch sport or Asian TV on big screens all around you. But heh if you want flocked wallpaper and obsequious waiters then I would head to Brick Lane if i were you. If you want to judge the quality just look around at the number of South Asian diners who will know a good curry when they see it. Intimate it is not and sure the waiters can be straight rather than friendly, but my advice would be judge it for yourself. I don't think you will be disappointed
P. C.
GREAT PLACE WITH AMAZINGLY MAGICAL FOOD. BEEN GOING THERE FOR THE LAST 40YRS. AND IT'S ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO VISIT. THANK YOU
A. U.
Really busy restaurant, they probably do the tastiest kebab roll in London always on point. Curries were ok,, butter chicken was too spicy, the veg curry was ok. Dall was tasty. Worth a try for their kebab roll!
L. B.
Have not been there since 1984. Stopped for a bite to eat at lunch time. The place has changed a lot since my last visit
Back then you felt like an outsider if you didn't speak the Pakistani language. There was no help with the menu. The place was small and always packed. It catered for local Pakistani people. I worked across the road in a Renault dealership, and a Pakistani colleague would get lunch there every day. The place has changed, now bigger and better. The f
ood remains top quality with what I regard as the best sheek kebab in London. The service now a lot better. The polite greeting was in plain English, the service was fast and friendly. I'll not not be leaving it 34 years before I go back. Check it out.

Huge place, seats for literally hundreds of people so a great venue for large groups, is also BYOB. Food here seems authentic and is very tasty, would recommend trying as many different dishes as possible but definitely to try the lamb chops and aloo paratha. Only downside is the food isn't for those who can't handle grease.
D. M.
A must if you like Pakistani food. No alcohol but they don't mind if you bring your own. Off license next door. Very fast service. I ate so much I didn't eat the next day.
T. H.
THE BEST food ever! Could do a whole lot better with cleanliness. Lamb Nihari and Grilled Lamb Curry are highly recommended but they're only available on Wednesdays and Fridays respectively - but they might change that idk..
H. R.
3.5 stars. Located in Whitechapel so I would not want to be there at closing time but easy to find. Off license next door and byo. We were seated upstairs. Heaps of food and it all tasted great - and a bargain. Not a classy place but to catch up with a few or heaps of lads then fits the bill.
I. J.
Great food. Quick service and an overall great experience.

Decent place for Indian/Pakistani food.
Priced on the lower/mid range side compared to other Indian/Pakistani food places. A bit crowded in the evening, so may have some wait time during peak times.
J.
My favourite place to get a quick curry in London. It's a no thrills restaurant and you can even BYOB! The fish masala is too good 😍
S. A.
Very tasty food. Just don't order biryani. Chicken karhai was very tasty and so was the seekh kebabs. Usually crowded and noisy. Service is below average. Probably would still go again for the delicious food.
U. C. (.
Paya were just ok and Mango Lassi was very good. Keema naan was actually a kebab stuffed in khamiri roti. Will I go again? Only for the mango Lassi.
K. F.
I tried the lamb karahi. The lamb was not great but the gravy was good. Plus the serve you a plate of salad which was awesome. But the thing that almost made me cry was the khameeri roti. I have been away from home for over a year and eating a crispy and light roti made my day
S. N.
Good Indian/Pakistani food and not too expensive either. Bigger than Tayyabs so more likely to get a table but it does get quite busy. You can bring your own drinks, so you can control your costs.
I. K.
The BEST Indian (really a Pakistani) restaurant in London. If you think you’ve had a curry and know what good food is without going here then you haven’t lived. This place will really give you something to think about. Remember you’re not going for the service, your going for the food.
S. A.
Locate at busy place Chicken karahi was nice naan was good as well but they need some efforts to prepare delicious biryani. Staff were happy to help in taking orders and food delivery to your table. price was reasonable
J. G. G.
This is the real thing!!! Authentic delicious Pakistani food, with kitchens open to view, all fires and heat and energy! Delicious chicken, spicy Dahl, fabulous naan bread - and a special recommendation: the okra! Super fast, efficient, friendly enough (in order to get your food to you, no more than that!)
Basic in terms of decor - you go for the food!
Absolutely loved it!
V. P.
It is a spacious restaurant with minimal interiors. The food is cooked the Pakistani punjab style and is good. We ordered mutton and chicken for both appetizer and main course.
T. D. M.
The food are amazing! I come here very often, most of the time when I feel like eating out. So far I've been here >10 times in the past 6 months. I have tried Karahi Ghost, Karahi Chicken, Garlic Naan, Cheese Naan, Kebab Roll, Papadom and Pistachio Lahori Kulfi for the dessert. I love them all! My must-have orders are Karahi Ghost and Garlic Naan. Staffs are very friendly! It usually takes only a few minutes for them to serve the food. Most importantly, THEIR FREE SALAD IS THE BEST!! I don't know how they keep the vegetables very fresh and the taste of the onion not too strong. Best restaurant on Commercial Road!
M. S.
Good place for introducing Muslims Halal food in London. There is also a Masjid near to it. Prices are cheep, but they need to give more intention to the cleaning. I recommend if they add washing facility inside the toilet since most of the clients are Muslims.
H.
Food was amazing, great and polite staff that are also helpful. very good atmosphere and a lively restaurant. lamb chops are cooked perfectly and well done. I would recommend this place to anyone! 10/10!
J. T.
Very good food at a very casual restaurant. It's bring your own beer and there's an offy next door. Three floors so there's usually a table to be had. They do take away too but I've not tried that.
The lamb chops and the chicken marsala were great for starters.
M. Y.
There was good quality food and the food was delicious. Professional chefs and excellent staff. I would recommend everyone to visit this place. If you go there once you will definately want to go again.
M. S.
The staff doesn't even look at you after you're seated, but they get away with it because the food's pretty great. I am Indian and this is one of the few curry houses in East London that DOES NOT USE SUGAR IN ITS CURRY. Yay! The Naan + curry wraps are also massive and quite affordable, not just an appetizer but a whole meal plus some. I definitely ordered too much food, but enjoyed it all.
BYO alcohol as well!
A. D.
Have you ever had a Pakistani Curry? Well, you need to. Seriously delicious and unlike anything I have had before. Fantastic resturuaunt family owned over four generations. I'd imagine this is as close to the real thing as you're ever going to get. They also gave me a hat! 10/10 will defi2 come again!
R. G.
While my visit to Lahore was entirely acccidental (a whatsapp autocorrect from Lahpet led to us booking here) the food was excellent for the price and venue. The naan breads were fantastic and we had a spinach Saag curry that was definitely worth repeating. This place is a little mid week gem for those who appreciate good food without the need for a refined decorThe BYOB also made for a money saver.
N.
A good Pakistani cuisine place that doesn't quite rival nearby Tayyab's more impressive standard but usually has less of a queue, especially before 7:30pm. Food is decent but nothing to shout about. It's difficult to know who their staff is as they don't wear the same uniform; this is in addition to there not being enough of them. If you're a spice-loving carnivore, you should try this place once to make up your own mind.
J. D.
By no means fancy but damn is this place tasty!
The food is always full of flavour and spice and extremely good value. If you're hungry and looking for a good curry that's not an "award winning" restaurant on Brick Lane then this is your place.
S. H.
So you're looking for a place to get a great curry well you have found that place here. There is always a great atmosphere sometimes a little loud but in a good way ! This is a true gem in East London and I recommend you go! ( Also they do take away and delivery)
s. m.
Travelling from yorkshire, where we have the best curry houses in the country.. I found this place would give us northerners a run... Authentic Punjabi cuisine. Had chicken & lamb curries and the mix starter. Just wow
A. P.
Been coming here for over 30 years. Still the best tandoori lamb tikka and chops in town and ridiculously cheap. They could charge more but they know who their regulars are and know that we'll keep coming back. Brilliant food.
H. S.
Fantastic place - every time my parents visit us, they only want to go to this place as we really enjoy our time. Food is not the best but taste great and environment is just fun. It is loud and you can even sing in the middle of restaurant. That's just fantastic and its full of energy.
B. B.
Poor decor, not the cleanest, smells heavily of curry, bring your own beer. Best spicy meat mixed starter in London, and consistent favourite restaurant for 14 years.
R. Z.
Tasty mixed Grill
Visited first time and actually loved the mixed Grill that I even ate mutton which im generally not keen on.
Although it was Saturday when me and my husband went didnt have to wait long to be shown to our tables. And the food ddnt take long to arrive. Definitely would be going again.
R. M.
Cheap and cheerful and open late, despite rocking up at just after 1 a we were treated to mini feast. The service is good but because of the high turnover and large space, it's easy to feel unloved.
However aside form this and the lacklustre decor, this is a great l;ate night eating spot with good food done well
R. R.
Good food
S.
I have been eating here when they had the place opposite , over 40 years now. Best Kebab rolls in East London.
X. L.
Reasonable quality, nothing mind blowing, most dishes are slightly over seasoned, the lamb nihar was well cooked, but the sauce was obvious over floured, almost on the verge of doughy! The service was not the worst, but some of the waiters certainly have questionable behaviour. One of the dishes was missing on our final bill, we tried to tell the waiter but he couldn't understand, so we paid an extra £10 which he promptly slipped into his pocket. Hmm... There are slightly better organised Indian restaurants near by, probably this won't be on our priority next time
A. K.
Really good food, chilled out vibe and very reasonable.
J. M.
While the food was good, and the price reasonable, the service felt overly rushed. Enjoyed the mango lassi and dry lamb curry, though the garlic naan was just greasy with butter and herbs. Curry dishes ran around 9£, plus bread. Evidently they're a bring-your-own-beer establishment; there's a shop for that directly across from them.
A. T.
Excellent mixed grill and lamb curry
F. M.
One of the best Pakistani food in East London. Ordered Kebabs and chops, taste was yummy and delicious. Will recommend and return soon. I m loving it.
N. H.
Fantastic service! Last time I've visited I left my wallet behind, thought I lost it forever. I checked every places I've been to that day except this restaurant. But after 2 days when called, to my surprise the owner Mr Imran informed me he kept the wallet safely. Later I collected and found everything as it was. Thanks a lot!
S. R.
Wonderful and authentic Pakistani food. Have been visiting for almost 20 years and the restaurant has grown from 20 to 200 covers but the food has remained tremendous. The mixed starter (chicken tikka, lamb tikka etc) plus lamb chops accompanied by roti and salad is almost a meal in itself. Lamb saag and chicken karachi for mains. Bring your own booze - buy it from the shop next door. Wonderful.
f. L.
Never fails to disappoint. Amazing food, simply the best curry in London, I come here twice a month and it's never changes, like food straight from Pakistan, meat busting with flavour, order, chicken tikka, garlic prawns, Sheek kebabs, lamb chops.
Garlic Nan, don't forget Mango shake too. See Saf best waiter in town.
D. B.
Been coming here for over 5 years now. It has actually got better and the toilets have improved. The food is outstanding and worth coming out of your way for. Waiters are brusque but not enough to keep me away.
P. H.
Starters were the best bit of our meal: the mains all looks and tasted the same despite ordering different things. Service was poor, toilets are bad, all the meat was tough, we were given the wrong bill at the end, etc.
R. N.
I hadn't visited in 25 years but the food is just as good as it was then. Place has grown a lot!
A. S. C.
Friendly service, family business, large portions and great food. We went there for a paneer roll take away and when we opened it we were surprised with the size! The food was delicious! I am pretty sure we'll go back next time we are in the area!
T. S.
One of three of the holy trinity of Pakistani restaurants in the area. Definitely my favourite out of the three. Bare bones dining in a busy, popular, stripped down spot.
BYOB with corkage and some of the best food in town.
Nihari particularly good.
