A hidden gem. As soon as you walk in you will be amazed at the decor, let's just say it's quirky. Karim is your chef and cooks the food in the centre of the restaurant, it's middle eastern and very tasty. Be sure to book in advance as it gets busy. I had a good night and so did everyone else judging by the laughter on the other tables. Treat yourself and check it out.

I have visited here several times over the years and it truly gets better and better every time! Great food with generous portions and very well priced.. simple but effective menu so it's easy to order instead of looking at 100 dishes and the staff are fantastic especially Nafisa and her sister in law, very cheerful which sums up the whole experience! 😀

Outstanding Lebanese food in a tiny eclectic back-street restaurant. So good I almost want to keep it secret. Don’t go! (But be sure to book if you do).

Very cosy and quirky place for dinner, explosion of colours and salt&pepper china! Charming fireplace, friendly and very attentive staff. You see the chef cooking right there, in the restaurant. They do take your coats to another room, otherwise it will smell of food. Very tasty, traditional food. Need to go back and try the veggie meze.

Lovely little Lebanese restaurant tucked away near the river. Decor is very full on (another pateron said it was a bit of an assault on the senses) but I found it charming. There's a small menu with one vegetarian option as a main but the food was very tasty. Staff were friendly without being overbearing. One thing to note was they only took cash as payment, not sure if this is permanent or just a recent thing.

Great dining experience.
High quality food and service.
The ambient is like home with a twist.
Only down side, your clothes are going to smell after

Felt like going on holiday when I went in, completely in different world, the food was really yummy, atmosphere was great, affordable. May be need a bit of a do over for the front but at the end I didn’t care as I enjoyed sitting inside and check on every little decorating

A different restaurant, with character
We came due to the amazing reviews.
It's kitsch like and kind of bohemian decor and style. It's an explosion of colours as you get in. I can understand other customers like that. For me, it's far too busy, lots of old stuff and feels sofocating.
When I said old, I mean old. Every single item there looks tired and wear out.
There are rugs everywhere, including the toilet, this raised some questions marks about hygiene (they might be clean but look stained and again, very tired looking).
It gives you the impression you have gone to an old friends place to eat, which is charming and you feel at ease.
The staff are pleasant and courteous, although the cook (owner?) wasn't very friendly or welcoming, just dry. Overall, it was a really good service.
About the food.
Great and delicious mezze in the right portions with normal pitta bread.
Main course is a generous portion of food, fresh fish and meat. overly spiced and too spicy. Another explosion, this time of flavours. Again, I understand some people might like it. For me, I expect in a Lebanese that they follow their cuisine.
They give complementary baklava at the end, which was a beautiful touch.
A big plus is the prices, which are on the cheap side for the area.
Each to there own. I get the good reviews but I don't share that enthusiasm for a place that looks as if it will fall down any minute.
I guess I would recommend it as a different experience and place but it didn't meet the expectations after reading the reviews.

Whenever we visit London one of our stops is always visiting James @ Mes Amis. The food he cooks is always amazing and great for sharing with others or solo if you're so inclined.

The owner is fantastic, the food is delicious and it's perfect whether you're from around or a tourist looking for something fresh to try
J. S.
The most eclectic dining experience that could be had. The food is cooked in the same room and truly provides a 'homely' feel'. The flavours and passion absolutely shone in this resteraunt
T. M.
Perfectly balanced flavours, attentive servers and quirky decor. I will definitely be back!
M. C.
Peculir place to go, the owner was really nice and we really enjoyed the food. Coliflower, hummus and lamb were delicious!
J. D.
Great food, very friendly service

The best cutest weirdest most amazing place ever :) the food is out of this amazing and I live for the quirky atmosphere
C. F.
Staff very kind and friendly.
Food super yummy 😋

wonderful place with the best food in hammersmith and the loveliest staff in london
M.
Quirky small place, very relaxed atmosphere, almost feels like being invited for dinner at a friend's house.
Everyone working there was lovely, great service. Food was incredibly tasty, we went with the set menu, so good.
Definitely recommended.
Book a table in advance,it is small, they had to reject a few walk-ins when we were there.

the owner just couldnt do enough to make our night fantastic. when he found out I was gluten free he made my own dishes bespoke and they were absolutely delicious. i didnt miss out on any of the appetisers etc that all my friends had as he made sure i had something suitable. the service is amazing and the wine selection is great.

The best Lebanese food I ever had was on a rooftop in Beirut. This was a close second - only because I had to take it home and eat it at my kitchen table. They're currently offering their simple menu via takeaway on Thurs-Sat. We had the mezze platter and the lamb and it was more than enough for 2 people. Cash only!

Mes Amis is brilliantly, eccentrically decorated with warm colours and a thousand pictures, ornaments and parasols. It's got an open fire and a sitting room at the back and feels more like the home of a great family friend than a restaurant, especially as the cooker is in the same room as you and the staff are relaxed and friendly - calling them staff seems too formal and doesn't do justice to the host/guest feeling. The menu is short (they're using one ordinary cooker!) but well chosen and delicous.
B. M.
Fantastic food from a small and concise menu. Lamb was beautifully cooked in the kitchen which is all on show and meters from where you sit. Extremely eccentrically decorated. Barely a square centimetre of wall or ledge shows through the garish but somehow tasteful and atmosphere building artifacts! Attentive staff with good recommendations. Will defo go again

I lived next to this place for three years and only went on the last week before moving away. I guess it's true what they say about people not knowing what they're missing before they lose it. Don't make the same mistake as I did, go here! The warmth and quirkiness of the decor, the incredibly friendly waitresses who kept topping up our water and brought us complimentary baklavas for dessert, the cat that wandered in half way through the meal and judged us... The list is endless. All I wish now is that this place was open during the day so I could go in for a coffee and pretend to be a struggling artist daydreaming about fame and faraway lands.
Now onto the food. It's true, the kitchen is right in the middle of the dining area, so don't wear your best clothes as they'll smell of cooking. However, I've never tasted hummus like that. The food was incredible, freshly made and had a homemade touch that made it all the more fulfilling. I had the small mezze platter which was plenty for dinner. If you'd rather have one of the mains, I strongly recommend you request some hummus anyway, it was incredible.
A. M.
So unique and incredible food! Whole place is very quirky between the chef cooking in the middle of the restaurant to the decor inside. So worth a visit, we’ll definitely be back.
S. B.
An absolute gem in this lovely residential neighbourhood.
Delicious food and experience.
James is a wonderful host.

Incredible. Transfomative. Highly recommended!
This is how restaurants should be. I know two others like it. One is Michelin-starred Faviken in Sweden and the other the equally amazing Marianne in Notting Hill. All three are tiny and you get the sense that everything they serve is prepared with love just for you.
If you were to judge the restaurant on how it looks from the outside you'd run a mile. But if, like so many locals. you venture in, you'll discover an incredible secret beyond the ultra-kitch interior. You'll become part of a club of cognoscenti who know that Mes Amis serves the best middle eastern cuisine for miles.
James is the chef and he has a small attentive team who assist him with service. James cooks EVERYTHING. It's rather like having your own personal chef in Ali Baba's cave of kitsch.
Having tried to get a reservation at another well-known nearby restaurant I tried Mes Amis for Valentine's Day. Having concerns about the interior and having never been before this was a high risk strategy. But it completely paid off. It turned out to be the most magical place serving great food.
The vast array of mezze appetisers where great. The mains were copious and tasty - despite their slightly basic orange slice garnishes. The chocolate desert was also good - possibly from an outside supplier rather than home made - but still the perfect end to a really memorable meal.
I pass Mes Amis every time I go running and fondly ponder when I might next be able to get back there to try their regular a la carte offering.
Well done to James and your team you made my Valentine's Day extra special.

First visit. Definitely worth going back.

A Hammersmith gem!
As a local this is one of my most favourite places to eat... to the selfish point where we don’t even tell many others about it so we can keep it to ourselves.
Uniquely charming with friendly and attentive service.
I can not recommend the Mezze starter enough. You will not find better moutable dip anywhere else in the world (and trust me, I have tried!) the garlic roasted cauliflower is also to die for!
Only thing I would ever like to see change is the wine list as it’s fairly basic. Please add something with bubbles!
C. J.
This is the restaurant at the end of the Universe. Fantastic Mediterranean food with friendly service and quirky decoration that will have you snapping photos to share with friends. The Owner, James, is a brilliant cook. The chicken and lamb are the chef's special but salmon and prawns are equally good all presented artistically. The mezze is the best in London. Great wines. In the past it has been patronised by Vanessa Redgrave, Desomond Lineham and other celebs and artists. A must to visit. Unique in London.
M. D.
Very welcoming experience. Lovely cozy place nothing much to add apart of the interior you want to take pictures of. Go if you want to feel like at home and fully welcomed
S. S.
Wonderfully eclectic Lebanese restaurant, which is a sort of Instagram heaven of kitsch. The kitchen is actually within the restaurant, literally beside the dining tables and just next to the roaring fireplace (above which a number of seasonings are hidden away in some of the trinkets which fill this room!). This means you can see all the preparation and care going into your meal.
Until former reviews, I can confirm that they definitely now take card payment. The service is friendly and swift, so I really don't have a bad thing to say about Mes Amis. Even the fact it is a little out of the way (a stone's throw from the Thames, in Hammersmith), is actually part of the charm.
J. A.
The food here is amazing and the service impeccable! We love all the decorations and it’s very comfy and cozy. Highly recommend!

If you want something truly unique and local, try mes amis. This is authentic Lebanese in an 'eclectic' setting. The proprietor and chef cooks live in what might be his living room. The food is very homely, portions are big and it's always tasty. We like the mixed mezze. We have brought a few friends and never been disappointed. Be aware this place is only open mon- sat for dinner and its cash only.
D. W.
The worst thing about this place is that I would suggest having a maximum of 4 people for dinner - this is only because it is a small and intimate space in someone's downstairs.
The best things (note the s for plural) is that this is one of the most intimate restauarant experiences I have had because it is in someone's downstairs. The place is decorated from floor to ceiling in trinkets and treasures which create levels and layers of character. You can easily forget you are in West London and instead be transported to a lebanese home - The chef cooks right in front of you whilst you can chit chat over some nice wine. The staff give more of a feeling that you're part of their family meal as they smile and serve you. The food....well it was a bit out of the way location wise....but the food was well worth the trip and I never thought I could say that I would enjoy Lebanese food this much. - a perfect mixture of spice without destroying the flavour. The meat had clearly been marinaded with care and the general feel of the food was that it should have been priced at a higher rate (please do not increase the prices!)This has to be one of the best 'cubby-hole' restaurant experiences I have had and I love finding gems like these. I do suggest booking ahead as people often pop by and find there is little or no room but this is a definite find for any Londoner who wants good food, service, and character whilst not paying silly amounts of money for it.

A visit to Mes Amis is a treat for all the senses! We always have an amazing time and it's become THE place we take any visitors. The food is unfailingly delicious -- definitely have both a mezze and a main, it may seem a lot of food but the mezze is simply too delicious to miss (the baba ganoush is the best we've had)
A. C.
Quirky little place with a eclectic interior. the menu is limited but incredibly tasty. Everything was so yummy and the couple who own it were very lovely
W. K.
Very delicious food recipe and cosy place
D. B.
Meh. Not my kind of place: cheesy Chinese decor (red lanterns and paper umbrellas), tables with heavy middle eastern tablecloths with some paper napkins on top. Very simple lebanese food, not a lot of choice, low quality wine by the glass, only a couple of very commercial industrial beers. In a packed Friday night service was nothing to write home about. I don't understand how anyone could describe this as "fabulous" under any dimension. 3 stars are even too much, it's a 2.5.

(Translated) The name of the restaurant is already very evocative, like at home, this establishment is really to be discovered, the owner cooks in front of you succulent and very fragrant dishes.
Tri Yann has a very beautiful song "discovery or ignorance"
I let you choose, I can't wait to go back
Remember to book
I recommend (power 10)
