Lucky enough to be invited to the soft opening ahead of the launch tomorrow. Had a lovely breakfast with friends. Liked the classic airy brasserie decor with lots of dark wood and glass. Staff are really attentive, the food was excellent, we had 4 different breakfasts including the vegan breakfast with mock fried eggs which my veggie colleague really enjoyed and a steak and eggs breakfast which seemed extravagant but looked amazing. They also do eggs royale with caviar which is very indulgent but I would like to return and try it. Everything came promptly, the eggs Benedict was very tasty. The coffee was superb. Would definitely return to try lunch and dinner. Recommended.

The truffle mac and cheese was absolutely delicious. It was seasoned and tasted like heaven. They’re very generous with their truffle and the dish came out piping hot. It’s obvious that it was very fresh. The calamari was very tasty and it was accompanied by a tasty sauce. The ravioli was also nice but nothing special. The truffle chips were very very very good. Also, the service at Moncks of Dover Street was impeccable.
Unfortunately, they didn’t have the lobster roll which was very disappointing, but the rest of the food was good enough.
Overall, it’s definitely worth checking out!

Moncks of Dover Street is a gorgeous new brasserie in Mayfair. The brasserie runs quite far back from the street, starting inside and going out into the light-filled atrium at the back, overlooking a garden. It’s light, bright and stunning. The art deco interior gives off a feel of being edgy with sophisticated style. It’s elegant yet a little eccentric. Our waiter Juan did everything possible to make our visit enjoyable, as did he for the other tables too! It made the whole evening one impressive dining experience.
The King’s Negroni (£11.50) was one fantastic, smooth version. With Plymouth gin, king’s ginger liqueur, martini rosso vermouth, it had a slightly bitter edge from the ginger, but was absolutely delicious.
The Miller’s Gin & Grapefruit (£12) was a great G&T too. A fab size, refreshing and very tasty. Both of which were perfect choices to start the meal.
Moncks is open all-day every day offering a contemporary European brasserie menu. The main menu for all-day dining is diverse and varied, from Tuna carpaccio and Truffled asparagus through to The Butcher’s Burger, Grass-fed beef fillet and Dover sole meunière. There are a number of options for starters, mains, nibbles and desserts. These include a handful of veggie options, and a couple of vegan ones including watercress soup and baked artichoke.
Starting small to save space for the main event we opted for a couple of small bites as starters. They were the perfect size to get things going, not too filling and were great for sharing. The spiced cauliflower fritters with yoghurt dip (£5.50) were beautifully spiced, light and fluffy. They were seriously tasty, with a great texture. The yoghurt dip which accompanied the bites was made with lemon and coriander which complimented the spices oh so well.
The Smoked mackerel pate with capers and toasted sourdough (£6.50) went well as a second small bite for sharing. The mackerel pate wasn’t too strong in flavour. It was beautifully soft, yet not a creamy as meat pate but certainly just as delicious. It was great with the toast – there could have been a little more of this to go with as we did find the pate lasted longer than the sourdough.
The mains were a great size too. The fish of the day when we visited was a sea bream available in a few different weights (£27, 450g). The team (well, Juan) even offered to remove the bones (as much as he could) for us. We had never been given this option before, which we thought was fantastic.
The Baked Quinoa Falafel (£11.50) with roasted aubergine, seasonal leaves, soya and tahini dressing was one very good veggie option. We had never had sesame and quinoa falafel before – they were soft, fell apart easily yet weren’t dry like a normal falafel. They were tasty, and great with the beautifully grilled aubergine and salad. We opted to add halloumi too (£4.50) because we just couldn’t resist. It was cooked so well and added an extra meatiness to the dish. It was a fantastic warm salad style dish with great flavours and textures!
With just enough space to share a dessert, alongside our sweet wine of course, we went for Juan’s favourite; the Chocolate Fondant with vanilla ice cream (£10.50). We are so glad we made space to try this delightful number. It was very chocolate-y as you can expect, but not too rich. It had an awesome melting middle centre inside. We could easily see why it was a fave, and would highly recommend this is how you finish a meal at Moncks of Dover Street!
What an evening at Moncks of Dover Street, a gorgeous brasserie in Mayfair. The service is incredible, the food seriously delicious and some great drinks too. It’s also very reasonably priced for Mayfair. A gorgeous, contemporary, relaxed atmosphere makes it a great spot for a chilled, stylish dinner. We’ve been recommending the spot to everyone – we were told you can also call and ask to be seated to be served by Juan.

Came here for dinner with some friends and we were all extremely impressed!
To start, the food was fantastic! We ordered a bunch of dishes to share between us which were absolutely delicious and gorgeously presented! (Pictured are just a few) - Tuna Carpaccio, Scallop Gratin (to die for), Steak tartare, Tempura Jersey rock oysters & the Truffled asparagus!
The service was impeccable, the staff were highly attentive and to top it off, the venue is absolutely stunning!
Such a great new addition to Mayfair! We loved it so much, we're returning next week!

Started with beef tartare and gratin scallops, the scallops are honestly some of the best i ever had and from an italian it’s saying a lot, we followed with an amazing lobster roll topped up with caviar which just made me feel like the sea was in my mouth.
To take it to the next level the beef bourguignon came through and it’s just like your next level Sunday roast, to close in beauty we got a truffle mac and cheese for the table which is just what you’d expect a perfect mixture between grease sublime taste and comfort food, do Moncks you won’t regret it!

Went here last week with some friends on a recommendation - a hidden gem! The service was friendly and attentive, each dish we had was deliciously well thought out (tuna carpaccio was the best i've had) and the decor was gorgeous. Very reasonable for the quality of the food (house red was great). Good for business lunches/dinners and catch ups with friends.

Very nice staff, polite and quick service, amazingly delicious brunch. We had a great fun! Thanks!

The dishes were absolutely scrumptious and the staff was lovely and extremely caring ! Can't wait for them to reopen.

Pleasant place that has a nice, relaxing atmosphere, and attentive service. Fish of the day was perfectly grilled, and delicious.

I had a very nice experience and the food was wonderful. I had a scallop gratin and the slow cooked beef - fabulous. The Mac and Cheese is really good too not to mention the dessert. Juan is a really great waiter who treated us very well and I will definitely go back. It was actually pleasantly quiet on a Saturday night (even thought the reviews are really great) but they told me it was because they had only recently opened earlier this year. TRY IT, IT'S GREAT

Went there on the 26th of February for my birthday with my girlfriend at lunchtime. The place was immaculate, the food was absolutely brilliant, the set menu is delicious and fantastic value, and what made it all was the staff in Moncks. Everyone was so friendly and we're more than happy to deal with any requirements. They even came out with a plate of two little chocolate cakes and a candle as I went for the cheese board instead of something they could stick a candle. I would highly recommend this this place and I will be sure to go back soon!

Good food, good atmosphere, friendly service. Perfect spot for a lunch with friends.

The menu offers a very good selection and we had one of the best lunches. Great quality dishes, very tasteful, good timing, amazing Icecream etc. The design and ambience is very pleasant and relaxing and I truly recommend Moncks for Lunch/Brunch.
Staff could be a little more attentive and try to guard the intimacy and peacefulness of the Restaurant. We sat close to the bar and some of the waiters kept throwing the glass bottles and other stuff playfully in the trash, making a lot of noise. Also, one guest let her baby „walk“ on the bar...
O. K.
Nice and cozy restaurant! Food was delicious. Truffle mac n cheese recommended.
T. L.
Elegant space with a very friendly and cosy vibe. European brasserie at its best.
Staff was friendly and helpful while the food matched our expectations. Worth trying the Mac and cheese. Great list of wines too.
Very satisfying experience would definitely revisit.
M. T.
Nice little place with friendly staff and nice food, felt a lot of the staff were not on the same wave length sometimes being asked the same question 5 times to different servers although I think this was just keenness and good hearted service. Food was good although the menu seemed a little pricey for the portions. Would recommend to a friend!
W. D.
Exceptional in every way! We were served by Juan who is an absolute super star of the service industry. You’re treated like royalty and the staff are just as passionate about the food as you are. Styled in an Art Deco fashion, it’s incredibly comfortable, stylish and up market. The wine list is very well sourced and even better priced.
The food: OMG! In a word (2 words) - perfectly balanced. We were recommended the Beef Bourguignon and I’m so glad I had it. Slow cooked for hours you don’t need a knife, the beef just pulls apart, paired with mash which is more butter than potato, I loved it and I don’t even like Mash. My wife had the ravioli which was again, perfectly balanced, full of flavour and perfectly cooked. We always pick a winner between us and this was just impossible (although I was the winner - shhh). We rarely order dessert but the options were so great we just had to try the chocolate fondant. Served with chilled clotted cream instead of boring vanilla ice cream it was sensational.
Because of the insane quality, it’s hard not to draw comparison to the top fine dining restaurants of London, in which case, it would have been nice to have varietal stemware (a big ask on only a £42 bottle of wine) however that said, the manager actually offered to ready Bordeaux glasses for our next visit as they have a sister restaurant who are stocked. I mean, if that’s not top tier service I don’t know what is.
This place could give the heavy hitters in London a run for their money, and at a much smaller cost it’s a no brainier. If the food was rubbish I’d still come back for the service and if the service was rubbish I’d still come back for the food - thankfully all elements are perfection so we will definitely be regulars.

The experience didn't blow me away, but it was certainly pleasant. Staff were nice, food was nice, booth was nice. I think the problem was the lighting. When you go somewhere like Moncks, you want intimacy. Maybe turn the lights down and put single spots beaming down onto each table. That'd take the intimate atmosphere up a level.
L. T.
Amazing brasserie tucked away from the hustle and bustle of picadilly and regent street.
The restaurant is beautifully designed and radiates a warmth and comfort.
The service was impeccable, very polite and receptive.
The food is excellent, the pancakes were divine, very well presented and tasted wonderful. My eggs and benedicts was fantastic and the coffee was fine.
I thoroughly recommend this discrete gem, loved it. Will return soon

Stylish and elegant decor, fantastic food and cocktails with superb service from very well dressed staff to top it off! Our waiter Juan was brilliant as was Michael who could not have been more welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend paying a visit!

Service was great, drinks & cocktails were lovely.
The food was good. My only little issue was the level of the music. We were seated under a speaker, when the live music was playing it was so loud we couldn’t chat to each other, when the live music stopped, the ambience music was equally as loud. It did detract from the experience. Hence the 4*

Moncks was such a good place to have lunch. I had seen the truffle Mac and cheese on Instagram and wanted to try it myself, it did not disappoint! Super creamy and so tasty! We also took a starter, the chicken liver pate was delicious. Love the interior design and will definitely come back!

Finally a venue with great food, great service in a really really nice environment.
Had a memorable meal (how often can you say that) I had.the monkfish which was perfect till I saw the steak my wife ordered. A good reason to go again a real jewel.

Pretty standard brasserie food done well, with a very decent menu selection. If you’re looking for a traditional French meal in central London this is a good bet. Lovely interiors. The service was slightly inconsistent but overall fine.

Really charming addition to the area. Brasserie style places seem to pop up daily but they have recognised that this sort of place needs top service without being stiff or stuffy and combined this old school personal service with a very modern diverse menu. My wife and I loved the choice, almost too broad and considering location very reasonable price wise. Whilst its new when you go in it feels like you have been going for years and that's rarely found these days

Someone below commented that this is a posh version of the Ivy brasseries... This couldn't be further from the truth. The food quality at Moncks and Ivy chains are world's apart. Every dish we had at Moncks was absolutely delicious and I am always left disappointed with the food at Ivy! Make sure you order the scallops gratin, these are probably the best scallops I've ever had! The decor was stunning, the service faultless and the prices are reasonable. Will be coming again in the near future.

Visited for the first time last night with friends and it is one of the best restaurants in London. The food, the menu, the service, the atmosphere, the attention to detail and presentation. Simply exquisite. Will definitely be returning.

Wow! Beautiful new brasserie in Mayfair. Charming place, great atmosphere, excellent service and delicious food. I love it and i really recommend to all my friends and family. See you soon!

Really great spot. The restaurant is fairly new so not always packed, but the food and staff a both great. If it’s your first time going go for brunch.

Great venue for lunch. Smart but cosy, great service and a good atmosphere. I had an absolutely delicious Beouf Bourginon with mash potato followed by coconut ice cream and passion fruit. Divine!

A posh setting with great food. The back atrium was totally unexpected and a delight. Order a bunch of small things and make your own English style tapas.

Best vegan breakfast place for me, and that's just the smallest part of the menu. Immaculate and lovely service and great interior. I keep going back :)

I mean, it was good, but felt like a slightly posher version of the Ivy Brasseries..,nothing original. Probably a better shout for brunch.

(Translated) It looks small from the outside, but there's a bigger space inside! The atmosphere is so good and the servers are so friendly. The taste is not great but it's okay. The only downside is the price. The price is a bit high-London is expensive but highly recommended.
