Visited today for a bank holiday Easter weekend meal, and it was divine! I’m vegan and while I find vegan food to be surprisingly easy to find in Portugal, it can be hard to find Portuguese food with a vegan twist in London. However, this place has you covered with super delicious choices! Staff were super friendly and welcoming, and did their best to regularly check up on you, even while the place was so clearly busy. Felt like I was back home, good food, lovely sangria and amazing coffee! Would love to see the vegan menu expand to a few more choices as well, but what is already there is great! If you’re vegan or plant-based and miss the taste of Portuguese food, please visit, you’re in for a treat!

We had our daughter's baptism party lunch at this restaurant and I have to say I was really impressed. Carla set everything hung up for our arrival produced a welcoming card for our girls, set tables with the cakes and decorated the tables really beautifully. Carla and Richard were fantastic, you know the best service you can ever receive is when your waiters can anticipate what your going to ask for and this was one of those occasions they made sure all our guests were always topped up with drinks, we went for an open menu so anyone could pick what they want. The portion sizes I found were extremely generous and delicious. I cannot praise Carla and Richard enough they were amazing and we are so grateful for the great service we received. To top it up Carla even got colour matching bows for her and Richard to compliment our girls colour theme. 5 stars without a doubt!

Best food I've had in ages. Lovely decor and amazing vibes. The service was outstanding, I would highly recommend, my personal favourites were the cod fritters and the green wine! Shout out to Carla our waitress, who gave us 5 star service throughout the whole evening.

Absolutely Amazing is an understatement. Went there for my mother-in-laws birthday and brother-in-laws holy communion. The service first of all from beginning when we arrived early until we left at the very last moment was attentive and perfect 👍🏽. We booked in advance and had a cake prepared for us which came out better than I could have ever expected. The set menu was well varied with plenty of options for all tastes and preferences, it came with a stunning dessert selection and coffee to wash it all down. If I could give more than a 5* rating I would and I will be coming more often to try out the rest of their beautiful menu 🥰 huge thanks to Carla, Richard and Lurdes at the FOH and to the amazing chefs who served us with speed and quality 👏🏽

This place has been around for years and has never disappointed! Recently they've remodelled and modernised their menu, while still keeping their Portuguese authenticity. The cataplana especially was delicious and the service super friendly. My friend tried the francesinha which I'll try next time - they do a vegan version too which is hard to find. No annoying hipsters in sight either :) (I'm looking at you Brixton market!)

Very nice presentation but very slow, albeit friendly, service. The salt cod and serra cheese fitters were delicious, but the starter of sauteed clams in olive oil and wine sauce , though nice, seemed a bit on the mean side. The main courses looked lovely, but tastes were dissappointing. My saltcod a bras turned out to be a bit dry and tasteless, and my friend's Bife a portuguesa had delicious potatoes but rather chewy meat. I might give it a go on an another occasion, but it could be a case of "been there, done that!"

Beautiful, hearty, authentic Portuguese food: large portions, delicious dishes, highly recommend trying their soups and starters, their Bacalhau is to die for 🥰 so is Ricardo! Whatever you have, make sure to pair it with Muralhas (vinho verde). Yumm!

Went with my soul mate, excellent meal, decor and service. The clams starter was amazing and the garlic sauce it came with stayed on the table till our meal was finished. Seafood casserole was exquisite and will go back for it. I expected cutlery, plates and food serving to favour my lady, but I can put that down to culture. Great chat with the manager. It has a variety of menus to suit both wallets and appetite, from just coffee and cake to a nice steak to fresh grilled fish. The portions are generous. The staff friendly and helpful. The accessibility is alright, although the entrance can be tricky and there is a disabled toilet. Its a pleasant experience

Very happy with the whole experience. We visited on a Thursday evening and it was quiet but that made the visit even more enjoyable. The restaurant is very cozy, the menu is the perfect size and the service is amazing. Richard, our server, provided the best customer service we had all experienced in a very long time. Had a perfect meal with friends here on Friday. The food was delicious (lovely fresh seafood) and great value for money. The vinho verde is a must try! Amazing customer service one of the best restaurants in terms of service and customer attention, the owner was very friendly and his staff were even lovelier. It has all the portuguese dishes you can think of however the quality of the food was not great, this is how each plate we had was left at the end of the night, because they were busy food came cold and most meat was really hard so I wasnt impressed, it's also overpriced however I recommend the place for birthday dinners due to the customer service and SPACE.

Cantinho in Stockwell went the extra mile with customer service. They made a very late reservation for my family. Stumbled upon this place after a long flight into London, waiting for my Airbnb to be ready. The kitchen accidentally prepared a family size version of my order (a pumpkin and bean stew) and let me take the whole order at no extra charge! The food was delicious, and I had several meals out of it and still couldn't finish it all. The servers were extremely friendly and welcoming, letting my partner and I store our suitcases in the back while we ate. Great experience, especially for tired travelers.

Wanting to try Portuguese decided to go to Stockwell and check one of the several restaurants there. Ended up in this place. It has a classic feel to it with lots of experience and stories I am sure. It is a bit old, but the food was great. Starters included breadbasket, azorean butter, shrimp and seafood pate and mix of veal croquettes, cod fish fritters and shrimp patty. They were all very good and well recommended by the staff. For mains ordered the Arroz de maroscos and polvo grehaldo. The arroz (seafood stew with rice) was very good- and good-sized portion which could go for 2 people easily. The polvo was extremely delicious with the potatoes and bed of spinach enriching the grilled octopus so well. The staff recommended this dish and kudos to them. The dessert wasn’t the most talked about item but it complemented the meal with its caramel aftertaste. Definitely recommend but only judge the place for it food which is amazing. Some people might find issue with the old chairs and tables, but from a eating experience, you can’t go wrong here.

This restaurant is definitely the one to go to if you fancy some lovely Portuguese food. I've visited this restaurant numerous times and it's always brilliant. Some of the best codfish I ever tried was here and I am Portuguese! Just wish the portions were bigger as it's so delish, but the prices are actually fair. Last time I visited I learnt that they also cater for those on a vegan diet, which was really surprising to me as you don't normally find it in portuguese restaurants. Will definitely revisit!

Brilliant fresh starters (pastéis de bacalhau & pão farinheira e ovos mexidos) and a good 'francesinha' but the 'carne à Alentejana' was impossible to eat. Absolutely disgusting. If I wasn't right in front of it, I would say "no way this came from the same kitchen". All the staff is super efficient and friendly, the manager is super nice too, but....as a business man (and a Portuguese business man, no matter where you are in the world) you always find a way to redeem yourself and please your customers, even if everything they could do was send the plate back to the kitchen and ask for a replacement... I believe the person that was with me was so disgusted that didn't think of eating anything else. Back to the business man, no attention whatsoever, no little reduction on the bill, no tinny little offer such as an espresso, no nothing. Yeah I guess the policy is strict "no claim no gain". Sad, as we won't come back because as such sad attitude, and all my Portuguese and not Portuguese friends I was about to recommend the place neither. We understand it's post lock down and etc, but this will actually be one more reason to try to please your customers, as unfortunately not all business were fortunate enough to be able to reopen.. And you never know when it's going to hit you back..

Muito bom!! My friend and I both got cod fish dishes here, and they were both great. I had the most amazing white wine here as well. I am definitely going back. The service is excellent. My waiter was friendly and brought us tons of bread to eat with Portuguese olive oil, which in my opinion the Portuguese do it best than anyone. I recommend getting a dessert here, because you get to take home the little pottery dish that comes with it. This is very typical of a Portuguese restaurant. Very authentic!! I highly recommend it.

Can't recommend this place enough. Being 100% Portuguese, I know the food very well, and this place does it right. Some of the workers don't even speak english! How cool is that! This is about as close to Portugal as you can get without being there! I suggest the Octopus sals (Salada de Polvo)

Came here as a group of ten. There's nothing particularly outstanding about this Portuguese restaurant - the salted cod is okay, the tapas and homemade bread is decent, and decor pretty standard. However the food was generally authentic, and good value given the enormous portions (we wasted at least half of the food on the table). Get a flaming chorizo, it's worth it just for the spectacle!

Amongst the key highlights of living in London is having the pleasure of knowing friends from all over the World 🌍 Thanks to that & the warm invite of a friend to celebrate his birthday, "Portuguese style", we ended up at their fav spots in Brixton/Stockwell - O Cantinho de Portugal! 🇵🇹 Twas my 1st time having a proper Portuguese meal and at this venue. We went all out on the starters including: - Chourico Assado (Grilled Chorizo, served flaming🔥 - Rissois Carne - Presunto c/ Queijo (Parma Ham w/ Cheese) - Pasteis de Bacalhau (Cod Fish Cakes) - Veal Croquette Delicious and unique flavours! Highly recommend ALL but esp the croquette. Caution: Very very filling! 🆘 Already struggling to eat more but being greedy the table ordered various mains too including steak served in various forms e.g with fried egg, peppercorn sauce etc. I had the traditional, famous Bacalhau Cam Natas (Sun Dried Cod with Diced fried potatoes, onions, garlic and cream). We all also had wine, beers and soft drinks. For being unable to move and entirely doggy bagging my main, the £28 was extremely reasonable! Really cool spot. Thank you for the introduction, my Portuguese friends ... you know who you are! 😊
