I have been eating here since it opened in 2004, and I have to say that this is a fantastic restaurant. The manager Jay and his staff are always very welcoming and their food is of the highest quality. But don't just take my word for it try it for yourself. You won't be disappointed

I come here regularly with my friend for catch up. Service is amazing, nothing is too much problem. I haven't had bad food there so far and we have been going there for many years. They also serve good selection of wines and we always receive complimentary drink at the end. We enjoy this place as it is very clean, food is great, staff is friendly. It's perfect of dinner for two or large family outings.

Got taken there for the first time on my birthday on Saturday. Really impressed by the decor and polite staff. Even more impressive was the menu which differed from the run of the mill Indian restaurants. The food was absolutely superb and the waiters incredibly attentive without being intrusive despite the restaurant being incredibly busy. Highly recommend the duck jalfrezi. Succulent duck in a delicately spiced and fragrant sauce. Highly recommended and really looking forward to going again soon. I couldn't help but notice the amount of regulars as the waiters seemed to know them all by name. Lovely to see a venue back to some semblance of normality after the recent Covid crisis.

What a gem! This place is usually full and after seeing it a few times, it was about time to give it a try. After asking a member of staff for suggestions for a vegetarian and a non vegetarian meal, the food served was outstanding! Even the papadum and sauces were extraordinary. Service was friendly and fast. Easy to get to from the train station and bus stop. Clean, modern interior and all for a very reasonable price. I will definitely be back for more!

Where do I start? Upon arriving you are greeted by a wonderful individual named Jay, their customer service and food is outstanding! I couldn’t ask for a better experience! Completely drinks after your meal is also a treat to look forward too. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an amazing Indian meal 🔥

Haven't been here for some time so I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dishes. The chicken was particularly tender in the dishes we had. Great service and super atmosphere. Definitely my favourite curry house in Highams Park.

Easily one of the best restaurants (Indian or not) in the area. I've been eating here for years and the food is just as good as the service. The staff are friendly, and make you feel welcome on arrival. In my experience, they've been happy to make recommendations and suggestions when I've been indecisive. The food itself is generously portioned, and everything from the mildest to the hottest curry is flavourful. Personal favourites are the prawn jalfrezi, okra (bhindi bhaji) and peshwari naan, you can't go wrong!

The quality of the food is good, for example, Lamb is always very tender, but the sauces are quite bland. They are always busy, but like most Indian restaurants these days, they just just cater for the masses, the "chicken tikka masala brigrade" who enjoy free poppadoms and even a complimentary drink..which is a nice touch. But I've tried their specials, and I've tried their "traditional" dishes...like Madras and Vindaloo..the Vindaloo is very very disapointing. Their Vindaloo is a very basic curry stew, yet done properly it's such an amazing curry if you cook it yourself and follow an authentic recipe. If you're a foodie and know your curry, then this place will disappoint..like most high street Indian restaurants, it's nothing special, and not really worth the money anymore to me. I need something far more authentic, something that is not made from a base gravy but prepared from scratch as an individual dish, and I'm prepared to pay a premium to find it. So after a meal from the avenue tonight which was watery and very bland..I'm giving up on all of the local Indian restaurants and takeaways in Woodford, Chingford, highams Park and beyond...and I've tried them all. It's not fair to compare what I've had on my travels to India to what we get here, or what I've tried in some modern Indian restaurants in London, but there is very little comparison. The service at 1 The Avenue is excellent and like I said, the quality of the food is good. But I crave something better so it's time to move on.

I’ve lived in Highams Park for nearly 5 years but have only really stayed local and gotten to know the area since lockdown. Pre-Covid, I’d often smell gorgeous food /spices in the air when getting off the train after work in the evenings but could never figure out where the smell was coming from. Now, thanks to my regular lockdown walks Ive discovered No1 The Avenue. The penny dropped that it’s the place behind the beautiful smells! Now, I can’t get enough of the place. The food is SOOOO good! I’m gutted I’ve only just discovered it and have missed out on eating their dishes over the past few years. So far I’ve only had the lamb rogón josh, the lamb jalfrezi, the pilau rice, sag paneer and of course the complementary poppadums but I plan to work my way through more items on the menu. Everything I’ve tasted so far has been beyond tasty, fresh quality ingredients, generous portions and it helps that the staff seem to be ever so friendly and helpful. I'm a fan. My only regret is that I didn't discover No1 The Avenue sooner!

What a wonderful find! I had a great experience getting takeaway from One The Avenue during my stay in London. I was able to walk in and order, and the staff provided me with a complimentary water while I waited! They were very lovely and the food was as amazing as promised! I would definitely return to this place. Would be great for dining in as well.

Never fails to make the dining experience absolutely perfect. The food is first class. Service is attentive , precise, professional and friendly. The ambiance is just right. I have been eating here for more years than I can remember and that says it all. The Tandoori king prawns are divine and my go to choice but every dish I have had has been delicious. I have just celebrated a birthday here with a table for fourteen and I know many of those newcomers will be new customers they loved it so much.

We had dinner with my work team tonight. The food is delicious - I had the mixed grill and it was plentiful. The naan was great and the service was outstanding - Jay the owner who hadls had the restaurant for over 17 years was refreshing - professional - friendly and made you feel so comfortable in his restaurant - he had a great team to support him - I was impressed he remembered my name throughout our meal. Good service. Very good quality food. Well spiced and fragrant, star of the show was the tandoori trout. Asked them to change some dishes and this was not a problem. For the quality this was priced relatively low. No complaints at all and will be coming back for my next Indian meal.

This is a really great Indian restaurant, as good as I've had anywhere in London. I love their food. Very good specials selection too. Excellent customer service. The Victorian era building use to be part of the original train station. Always a buzz about the place when you enter. Do give it a try and always book ahead for Fri and Sat evenings. And I walk past two perfectly acceptable indian restaurants to get my take aways from this one... No they are not on Just Eat or anything like that, and they don't deliver - rust me they don't need to - so pick up the phone and do it the old fashioned way!

Best Indian restaurant for miles. Fantastic food. The tandoori king prawns are sublime. There are some excellent duck and fish choices just to tempt you away from the usual choices. Staff are speedy and super efficient under the watchful eye of the very professional owner Jai. He has a real diamond here. Long may it reign.

I'll be honest, we didn't go here for years because it wasn't clear what type of food One The Avenue served. Since we decided to give it a try; we have not gone for a curry anywhere else in the area. The naan breads are the lightest I've had, the curries are well flavoured and not too greasy, their starters are excellent. They even give you a free drink with your bill.
