Reviews of Padella
E. M.
I absolutely love this place - it has some of the best pasta dishes in London. Everything we had was excellent - it's the kind of place you want to return to over and over to try multiple things and repeat favorites. The wine selection is great too, it's small but everything is good and pairs well with their dishes. Service was also great - friendly, attentive and helpful. Cannot recommend this place enough.
J. G.
Delicious pasta! Simple dishes that are so tasty. Would definitely recommend to try it. It’s not really a sit down restaurant- more of a eat and go vibe. Worth the hype it gets and reasonably priced as well
C. L.
We had a great time at Padella! The food was amazing, I was worried it wouldn't live up to the hype but it was so nice. The service was really quick and friendly. I thought we'd have to wait ages for a table, but we just used the walkup app to queue virtually and had a drink nearby. Would definitely recommend!
M. A.
Been trying for years to get a spot in here for Lunch on the weekends - finally got in and it didn’t disappoint. Make sure to order the cacio e pepe, and definitely definitely get your place in the virtual queue as early as you can. Staff great too.
N.
Yes it could be a very long wait (1 to 1.5 hrs) to get a table after scanning the QR code but it's not that bad as one can easily stroll around the borough market area to pass time. The pasta came out delicious and flavorful. Prices are reasonable too, for London! Service was good as well. My only gripe, other than the super long wait time, is that portion sizes are small. Will come here again next time we're in the city.
E. R.
The food was indeed quite good as much as their extremely delayed waiting queues. Their customer service is fantastic and we were served by Ms Stefania who was very knowledgeable in offering us the options. The prices have been well hiked in the past few months and I am not quite sure how they rate comparing to their portion sizes as well as their wait period. I felt it was a little bit rip off for the price along with the service charges.
The wine options were limited and again I found it quite on the higher side for mediocre wines. The tables by the live counter is sure a delight as I couldn’t take my eyes off the action while being seated. Overall a good try but I would appreciate it further if they do something about their list price. It’s a pleasant lively atmosphere and a fun place too.

There's a reason why this restaurant is packed every night. Just located outside Borough Market, this place is a must-go if you want to try delicious pasta at a very reasonable price. The menu is not extensive, but everything is made fresh, no microwave food here! You get a sizeable amount of pasta and it's just delicious. My friend and I shared a bruschetta, the Ravioli of Westcombe ricotta with slow cooked tomato sauce, and the Stracci with sweet onion, thyme & gorgonzola fonduta, before finishing with a slice of chocolate tart. I was a bit nervous about whether I'd like the gorgonzola, but the taste was balanced so well.
How booking works:
The restaurant doesn't have an online booking system in the usual sense - a QR code is placed outside the restaurant at 4.30PM sharp every day except Mondays. You'll most likely already find a queue snaking around the corner prior to 4.30PM but that's okay! The queue should move very quickly -- just make you have your phone camera ready to scan the code and enter in your details. Once the restaurant officially opens at 5PM, every booking is placed in a virtual queue and you'll see real time updates as to when your table is ready. The smaller your party, the more likely you'll be seated quicker. Once your table is ready, you'll be asked to confirm whether you're coming or not and you'll have 10 minutes to get to the front door. This system does mean there's no telling when exactly you'll be seated, but you'll have a rough idea.

A very rare resto in London who is honest and fair. Have to say it’s a must visit. The quality worth much more than the price. An HONEST restaurant deserves five stars. This meal cost less than 50.
M. V.
It was hard get a table but we managed after many failed attempts. The menue is Italian with an English twist. Really enjoyed their Dover crab pasta. Great value for money too that’s why there’s always a queue outside!
Y. C.
Took a dear friend to this restaurant as a celebratory brunch after seeing the online reviews and it was worth the wait! We were seated quicker than the walk-in app suggested. We were offered bar seats that overlooked the open plan kitchen, the staff were lovely - Stefani and Nickolai who waited us, and spoke to one of the chef's who worked directly in front of us as we dined. Between the two of us, we shared 3 plates of pasta and ordered desserts for the occasion. Reasonably priced menu considering location, nothing too fancy - refined, quality produce. We both would recommend the Shin Ragu, Ravioli followed by the Tomato and Basil pasta and the Fig and Almond Dessert.
R. M.
Very good pasta made from scratch! Portions and sauces are generous. Staff is friendly. We set at the bar overlooking the kitchen which was cool to see the whole process of pasta making and cooking. Perfect spot for a lunch break.
J. J.
Incredible food and wait time for a Saturday was fair. Myself and my friend were sat downstairs on the bar and our server was very friendly and attentive (didn't catch her name unfortunately but she shared our affinity for bread ahead doughnuts). The burrata and the special mussel pasta of the day were delicious. Will happily continue to visit in the future.
N.
The food was delicious and flavorful, the place has a nice vibe and cozy atmosphere. Don't be afraid to ask your waiter about the dishes and advise. We had two of the most popular dishes on the menu and a desert. The only downside is the method to book a table, but it's definitely worth the wait and the hustle.
L. W.
Worth joining the queue! There is plenty to see in Borough Market while you wait for a table. The pasta is amazing.
A. I.
Great pasta!! Food and service were top notch! My tip is to download the app and register to the virtual line while you walk through the market, is it makes it so much easier with the line there...
S. E.
Padella never disappoints! Excellent, speedy service, delicious pasta and the burrata in particular is to die for.
M. D.
Everything here is made to order so you can taste the freshness of the pasta. Service is really nice and friendly. The Walk-Up app is a life saver since you can stroll around Borough Market as you wait till your table is ready!
K. M.
Difficult to find a table but they are using this cool app where you can do a virtual queue. The food was amazing, the best pasta I had in years! We had the slow cooked beef pasta and the special of the day, followed by dessert and a local Italian drink. Overall great experience!
One small thing I noticed, is that the servers where wasting paper towels by bringing us new ones for main and desserts even though we were not using them, and also they were throwing away the menus right after we order. I was expecting a cool place like that , in the center of London to be more environmentally friendly.
C. W.
We looked for vegetarians options and popped inside this restaurant, actually got seats outside. The service was quick, the food tasty and reasonably priced. Definitely worth a try.
B. E.
Absolutely delicious pasta with lovely staff. From the bouncer to the hostess to my server, everyone was extremely kind. Would highly recommend booking ahead of time for a table here as it was packed when I visited. The portions were great and the Negroni I had was top notch. High high praise.
A. H.
Incredible pasta for the price - buzzing to go back and I’ve only just left. Lovely service - big up Nelly - lovely chefs, lovely food, lovely atmosphere.
The fact we had to queue on a Wednesday night at 9pm speaks volumes (not a negative, well well well worth it). Nothing too fancy or over complicated, but perfect just as it is!
Highly recommend the Nduja and Lemon
S. D.
We loved the pasta. I ordered a Tagliarini with Dorset crab and it was lovely. Got a Pic cacio & Pepe for my little fuzzy water and she loved it. The Burrata with Le Ferre olive oil came to our table by accident, but it was a HIT.
R.
High quality pasta and friendly staff. Especially enjoyed the garlic and chilli dish, was phenomenal! Between 2 people we had a starter, 3 mains and 2 glasses of wine, £20 each and left feeling full. Highly recommend!
S. T.
Awesome place! Worth the wait, highly recommend. We essentially ordered the entire menu and it didn’t disappoint!!! Would definitely come back
N.
Finally made it to Padella. The wait was well worth the wait. Got the carpaccio and the burrata for starters and they were both very good. For mains we had the tagliarini with crab, chilli and lemon & the pappardelle with beef shin ragu. Great dishes both of them! We had a lemon for tart for dessert. It was very tangy as I like it but the pastry was too thin.
C. C.
Really good pasta, the only thing is we could only walk-in and queue with the walk in app. Couldn’t book and the queue is often long. but worth it.
L. E.
Perfect pasta, what more can I say? Be prepared to queue because the word about Padella is out. Simple but stunning menu, beautiful wines and great service.
S. C.
We went to eat something in the eve. Food is ok, staff is great. They dont have enough though, for the amount of customers there plus the deliveroo orders.
L. R.
Went for lunch on Sunday and wow!!! Food was amazing and service was great! The pasta was super fresh and the flavours on dish are the best I’ve had in a very long time.
Highly recommend to join the queue and wait as long as you can (go for a visit to the market there’s plenty to keep you entertained) as it’s worth it!!! Will be back very soon.
A. C.
fresh authentic pasta selection with unique flavors — a popular must-try choice! 🍝 beef carpaccio, lemon & marscapone and beef ragu pasta👌 drinks and dessert menu was lovely as well. we ordered the elderflower vermouth, ice cream affogato, and chocolate tart.
p.
Amazing pasta for a friendly price. The pasta ragu was outstanding, yes there is a wait but absolutely worth it. One of the best Italian restaurants in London.
J. V.
Probably the best pasta in London. So yummy. And very affordable! You have to queue outside from 16:30 to reserve a space inside for that day, but it's totally worth it. If I could eat here every day I would.
A. S.
There's a reason this place is so popular. Amazing fresh pasta, great specials such as the Borlotti Bruschetta and friendly service. Considering the location of this restaurant the prices are fantastic. A good virtual queuing system as well. Eccellente, I will be back!
M. G.
Customer service was excellent as well as the burrata. However, the salame and the spaguetti presentation could be improven.
E. H.
Blown away! Our trip to Rome was cancelled due to bad weather so we thought we needed a good and fresh pasta fix! The staff from the offset was just incredible! We expressed we were sad about our trip and immediately the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The complimentary bubbles was just such a lovely treat. But oh my goodness, the pasta! Absolutely the best in London! Very well priced and a fantastic atmosphere! Thank you Padella! We will be back!
S. O.
Never disappointed here - service is quick even though it's constantly busy. Burrata is to die for. Use the WalkUp app to queue virtually to avoid disappointment!
P. C.
Amazing fresh pasta. We had the crab tagliarini, wild mushroom fettuccini and Punpkin raviolo with some butter. It was an explosion of flavor, each dish very different and yet so perfect. Totally worth the slight wait. Perfect pasta outside of Italy. 🧡🧡🧡
J. W.
Sooo good! Hand made pasta...balanced flavors.
Refined taste at a seriously great price!!

It could be that the luck was at my side as I wanted to try Padella for a long time and have been trying to book myself in through their app or by standing outside.
Monday 31 Aug was the last day of EOTHS and, while I was coming back from Shoreditch, thought to try my luck.
Jamie have been kind enough to get me in. I heard they make their pasta in house and could see a man inside next to the front window making it through a machine.
Do check their menu on the website before you decide to go in as your favorite pasta might not be getting serve on that day.
I like the way they got the tables around.
It was like you are in small corner of the borough market. It was full and they were taking last orders of their afternoon round and then they open again at 5.
Their menu is simple, and small as you can see in the pictures.
Pegan was my server and recommended me to order "Pappardelle with 8 hour dexter beef shin ragu" if I am in mood of something cheesy and meaty.
I have noticed that although the staff were attentive but they were not interested in talking. Just like Pegan, she was efficiently doing her job, less chatty and getting the service done.
In a round broad white plate, my pasta was served. It seems like Pappardelle was cut into pieces so I can easily eat it along with the meat, nicely cooked with the right amount of sauce and cheese topped. The meat was so soft that it just melted in my mouth.
Since am a cheese lover, I don't mind having more cheese neither more pasta.
The original price for this pasta is £10, with EOTHS, it cost me £5 and seeing the quantity, quality and service I had, guess £5 is the right price.
Service charge was added in my bill which is an optional charge. When I ask Pegan to remove it, she questioned me that do I not like anything? I like everything, however, being a customer, I know my right and service charge is an optional charge, not mandatory, it should not be added neither we should question about it.
Anyways, the charge was removed and happily, I left the place feeling accomplished that this restaurant is finally ticked off from my list.
Will I go again? Only if I get an invite.

The table system is not the best as always there's free table outside and inside and still massive queue outside the restaurant, when ask the host at the door they would then say if you want to sit at those odd table you are welcome to..crowd control is bad. Food is excellent but small portion, the mozerrala they pre made so many snagging them on the kitchen top, it's kinda a killer
T. D. N.
Staff were incredibly friendly. Food was simple but tasted delicious. I ordered the Burrata to start and it was creamy and nicely done. I had the Pappardelle with 8 hour Dexter beef shin ragu which was simple and nice. Portion was incredibly small, which is a fair assumption judging by the price. I then got another Ravioli with ricotta and sage butter which was delicious as well.
Do take note that you have to reach very early as you have to queue to get a number, after which they will send you a message when your table is available. I would recommend going there before their ppening time (5pm) to avoid the queue.

Love the pastas here! Been coming here more than 3 years and still loving this place. Fresh pastas, super affordable and great customer service. Might be a bit of wait to get a table but its worth it.
J. C.
The best pasta I ever had, great value of money, great quality, hand made pasta, staff are super nice.
Overall, I really enjoyed and will come back again 100%
N. K.
Great venue, staff were attentive and food came out quick. Food was also incredibly tasty, prices are fair and the quality was very good. Will definitely visit again to try out more of the menu!
S. G.
The best pasta in London! The menu is small-ish but everything I have had is excellent, I have nothing but good things to say. The people are nice, the prices are great, and the food is near unbeatable.
A. S.
Gnocci and caccio pepe was perfect! Definitely will go.
M. D.
Great ambiance in Borough Market… pasta was perfect. Try a few for the table
I. C.
Although the food is tasty, the queueing system is quite jarring (you need to join an online queue and ours took two hours) and our final bill was extremely high for what was ordered
H. P.
Amazing homemade pasta , simple basic and great. Great service. Recommend you to join the queue via website as the restaurant is small.
P. B.
Absolutely incredible (and I say that as someone who isn't a big fan of pasta). Bread and saucisson for starters were delicious, then we shared 4 pasta dishes between the two of us. Especially loved the gnocchi with nutmeg butter and the Fettuccine with chicken livers. Highly recommended
i. c.

Unfortunately over hyped. Pasta was over cooked - mush. Sauces were over-seasoned. The cozy, brasserie style was not reflected. Wanted to love it, but never mind!

Great service & food!
We wanted to go to Padella for ages and we finally made it. Such a great experience!
From the time we got in, the host very friendly took us to the table and from the Ely looked after us in the best way! Very friendly, she made sure everything was alright.
Good job Ely and also congratulations to Padella to find such an amazing worker!
Also, the food was incredible (congratulations to the chefs) and for reasonable price. I would expect the restaurants around Borough to be more expensive but Padella is an exception.
I only have good words to describe this restaurant!
I'm definitely coming back as long as the queue is not too long.
I. C.

Nice concise menu and extremely popular in the city. Definitely come if you’re a pasta fan
E. B.
We had such a lovely time at Padella! We wanted a table for 2 at lunch time, we joined the virtual queue and grabbed a drink at a nearby pub. The wait time went really quickly and we were then seated at a table looking out to the busy street outside. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is great, the staff are so friendly and attentive and food comes really quickly. We had the olives, burrata and bread to start with and then Pici cacio & pepe and the Spinach ravioli and it was all delicious! Portions are not huge so it’s the perfect amount for lunch. Would 10/10 recommend! Will be coming back very soon!
K. Y. Y.
Amazing pastas for this price. Will definitely go again and recommend to other people.
R.
The best pasta in central london. Always have a queue when visiting this place. We need to wait around 30 minutes to get service. The location is very easy to find as located in famous borough market. We could take a short walk from London bridge Tube Station.
.
A wide variery pasta are served here. Better use an app to book the table. The price is also reasonable for the food quality. One of my favorite is to enjoy how the pasta made by the chef, but only in the morning at 8/9 a.m.
Z. Y. (.
They were very busy but its easy to find a seat if you are by yourself. Service was fast and the waiters were helpful in explaining the menu and recommending dishes. Went for one of their best selling pasta - with slow cooked beef. The taste was very rich and the texture of the pasta was perfect. Dessert was also very nice.
G. C.
Unfortunately over hyped. Pasta was over cooked - mush. Sauces were over-seasoned. The cozy, brasserie style was not reflected. Wanted to love it, but never mind!

I just love Padella! The food perfectly seasoned, fresh and absolutely delicious. The staff always friendly and even recognise you from weeks before.
R. P.
Absolutely authentic!
I am Italian so I don’t generally eat pasta at restaurants here in London (lol) except for Padella! Yes the waiting is long but it’s worth it!!! I went there with my boyfriend and we tasted the tagliarini with garlic and chilli, pappardelle with shin ragu and pici cacio e pepe… OH MY GOD! Their pasta is just perfect, full of flavour, perfectly cooked and simply delicious! I even got an extra portion of cacio e pepe to take away!!! If you like a strong drink go for their negroni! Well done Padella :) see you soon
Ps. Unfortunately I have no pics, I was too busy stuffing my face
P. W.
Glad to have had my daughter managing the App to book a table within a certain distance of the restaurant. Rapid service and tasty pasta dishes.
N. C.
I had a very good experience the first time I came here with my parents and brother so I knew I had to come back again, this time with my husband.
The portion sizes may seem small, but that’s only because we’re so used to restaurants over feeding us. The plates are just right. As well, most items are below £10. And of course, everything tastes fantastic. Great pasta and sauces.
Service was welcoming and swift. We didn’t have to wait too long for our dishes to arrive.
Get here early, especially if you have a larger party. We arrived at 11:15 and the three people in front of us were asked to come back at 13:45 while we, a party of two, were let in. I’m not sure why they were asked to wait, as there was still counter seating available and I noticed there were vacant tables in the basement when I went down to use the WC. I can only guess that the staff wanted to maximise the number of seats filled and were looking for even numbers. Just be aware of this.
Overall, a really nice experience. I don’t know if I’d queue again in the winter, as the wind was unrelenting and made me wish I weren’t sentient, but I do recommend giving this place a try.
D. P.
We paid ~£100 for 2 starters, 3 pasta dishes, 2 deserts and drinks. Fabulous pasta and really delicious deserts. Drinks were quite expensive and not really worth it - £30 for 500ml of ok but not great gavi. To get in you have to be patient or very organised. We joined the virtual queue at 17.05 and were seated after a 90 min wait.
K. C.
Went for a weekday lunch and arrived about 30mins before opening so was near the front of the queue. They only let 1 or 2 tables in at a time which works well and you don’t have to wait too long for your food. Everything we tried was fresh and perfectly cooked and so tasty. bread was amazing and all the pasta was delicious. Well worth the wait. They are so friendly and professional too! We had 2 starters and 3 pastas so way more than enough food. Portions are just right for average eaters!
C. O.
Great food, great service and well priced. It was a shame that our table near the kitchen/bar entrance had a fan blowing on us making it warm. Also in a pandemic you don't want air blown onto you like that. If I were seated somewhere else I'd have probably given it a 5/5. Would visit again.
1 year later, 4 stars is now 5 stars. The food was even better than we remembered. Well worth the virtual queuing and price. This time we sat at the bar/kitchen watching the chefs and really appreciate the quality of food and service. Love it and will return again!
H. L.
Delicious fresh pasta, the nduja, mascarpone and lemon fettuccine was sublime! Quick service and very reasonably priced for its location and quality!
J. S.
This place is nothing short of a perfect 5/5 rating. It was best meal I had in London and the best pasta I’ve had in my entire life. So fresh and flavorful, you have to taste it yourself to truly understand. Service was friendly and the vibe was upbeat and enjoyable. If you visit London, make sure this place is one you do not miss. If there’s a line to get in, which is likely, it moves fairly quickly and is undoubtedly worth the wait. I can’t recommend this place enough. Padella will be my new standard for pasta.
H. T.
PROBABLY THE BEST PASTA IN LONDON!!!
Finally a place that tastes just as good as it looks!
Pasta is perfectly cooked accopanied by symphonies of finely tuned flavours with every mouthful!
Great selection on the menu and a good drinks list too.
First come, first serve basis with potential long waiting times - just enough time for a pint!
Very reasonably priced!
Z. S.
Went for lunch but the kitchen closes at 4. Queued for dinner instead. Pastas are freshly made and cooked, taste great. As I'm not a big fan of pasta, I don't mind go there once in a while. The greengage and almond tart is quite sweet with sour greengage plum, interesting combination. And pici pepper pasta is tasty with chewy pasta. The special pasta with white mushrooms is nice too.
p. n.
great food! cozy place and atmosphere the Pici cacio and pepe is worth coming back for. The online queue is easy to join in the erea.
Just wish that Taylor Swift and Katy Perry tunes would be swapped for music more compatible music for with the food.
M. F. G. M.
What an exceptional place!
Beware of the queue though. I usually get here around 11:25 for the 12:00 lunch so I get in in the first lot of diners.
The kitchen is open plan so you can watch your meal being prepared. I usually order 2 or 3 dishes, the gnocchi being my favourite (you only get about 15 of them so it’s not too filling).
Cocktails are good too and cost only a £5 and desserts are okay, but don’t forget what you come here for - the delicious pasta!
R.
The best Italian in London! Famous for its notorious queues, my friend & I decided to visit on a Monday at around 2pm in an attempt to beat the queue as I’ve witnessed them at 3 hours before, and we managed to get away with just 45 minutes! We were seated with a table looking over the kitchen, and were fortunate to be able to see the chefs create all of their dishes from scratch including the fresh pasta. Believe the hype - this place is worth it and is excellent value for money.
H. P.
Amazing homemade pasta , simple basic and great. Great service. Recommend you to join the queue via website as the restaurant is small.
S. U.
Simple but delicious pasta menu. Decent price. The almond tart is actually very good. Be prepared to wait for you queue which can be up to 90minutes or more (though managed via walkin app so you don’t need to line up) try avoid timing between 1-2pm.
S. S.
Great Italian restaurant I’ve ever had!! Lively ambience restaurant serving fresh pasta with small price as shown in the menu below. I would suggest you to come early otherwise you need to reserve a table then you gonna get a message when your table is ready.
D. T.
TIP: Be prepared to line up to get a number and then you will need to wait after that for a text when your table is ready. Me and my friend went on a Wed night and when I got there at 6.40pm there was already a queue snaking around. We got to put our name down at about 7pm and then waited for about 1.5 hour before getting in. Yes. The lines are crazy.
That said, the pasta was delicious, service was good and very buzzy vibes. Very very affordable for good quality food. We had the nettle and egg yolk pasta and the Nduja fettuccine. Need more places like this in London! Quality food at an affordable price.
H. A. M.
Long queue so one needs to wait and be patient. We came for lunch and waited only 20 m so it was not bad. Basic decor and ambience. Casual place. Tight and crumby. The menu is simple and not a large one. Main focus is on pastas which are very good and delicious. Worth the wait. Prices are very moderate for London. The only downside is that it is far from West End.
S. C.
Holy mother of all that is good - now THIS is what you call pasta. Freshly made in front of you (if you're seated at the counter that is), beef carpaccio was out of this world tender and ravioli especially was wonderful. Service was attentive without being overbearing and kudos to the waitress for making good recommendations. What an all-round lovely experience and can't wait to come back already. Wait time was about an hour when we arrived at 12:30pm on a Sunday.
M. G.
Food was incredible. The pasta is homemade and delicious. On one visit I got to sit downstairs and watch them make fresh gnocchi. Can’t wait to go back.
N. N.
The place is very beautiful, as I'm a super fan of pasta, this is one of the best flavors I've tried, all the staff are very attentive and a product with quality service is exceptional.
S. T.
Finally got to try this place. There's always such a queue I had to see what the fuss was about.
Can't deny, it's good pasta, made fresh with simple but full of flavour. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Its reasonably priced menu made me want to try everything but I know how big my eyes are to my stomach. I'll have to come back next time to try the rest. Felt a bit cheated to find out the owners were Londoners and not authentically Italian, but good food is good food so can't disagree or discriminate.
The lemon tart was nice and tart too. My mouth is salivating thinking about it mmm...
Wheelchair access: There is a step to get in but it's step free round the back way. No accessible toilets and seating is limited on the ground floor. It's mainly stool seating and tables slightly higher than average. Still worth a visit though.
I. V.
I finally got a table during the last 30 minutes of lunch. I tried 4 of the main dishes, in some sort of tasting menu. All sauces were delicious and quite unique: anchovies in one, pesto in the other, nutmeg in the third and lemon butter for the stuffed pasta. The serving size is not to share. For example, there are 6 ravioli in that dish. The gnocchi is slightly larger but definitely for one guest. We were 2 sharing and it was just perfect for lunch. Yes, the line is discouraging but so worth the reward. The only disappointing thing was the tiny can of soft drink, way smaller than the average can and at almost the same price of one of the exquisite dishes. But, given the art of their cooking, it is just a side note for you, the next guest.

A good pasta joint in the heart of Borough Market, famed for its long queues to get in. Menu is small, which I believe is a good thing, as it shows what they do, they do well. Pasta was very tasty and beef shin ragu was exceptional. However, whilst it was good, I don't think it warrants its long queues or the hype surrounding it. Service was a bit hit & miss, water only poured in one of two glasses, orders being asked for twice. Would recommend as an experience and London tick list though.
K. C.
oh my! what a wonderful surprise. i went here on a whim when they first opened for the evening. i had about a 2 hour wait!! and they were completely cooked up by about 7pm i think so definitely put your name in early. you can receive a text when your place is ready. such amazing food and drinks!! a very cute restaurant as well. very friendly staff.
N. F.
Great food at great price, seemed a bit less organized at our visit last Wednesday. But food was fab!
Update, have been twice the last 10 days and the food was amazing as usual! I still feel the service good be way better! A couple of the staff seemed annoyed at a very small request. I know it’s busy and I have booked through walk in and I am a paying customer so I still think front line customer service needs improving!
C. B. K.
Went here in between the lockdowns in 2020.
Delicious food, fast service whilst being friendly. Small place but it’s literally eat-drink-go as they are often busy with fast turnover.
(Do excuse half eaten image... It looked and smelt amazing and then I thought I should photograph it 😂)
G. L.
Great for pasta, long queue but turnover is fast.
A limited menu of few items but all tasted good.
Prices are extremely reasonable for London. Highly recommend the beef shin Ragu which was the best out of the four pastas we ordered.
K. N.
One of the best pasta restaurants in town. Located right beside popular Borough Market, dishes are small and simple, but extremely tasty. I highly recommend ordering a starter and a small plate per person. The burrata cheese is one of the creamiest cheese you'll ever have the pleasure of eating. Extremely popular so be expected to queue especially around lunch time and dinner. Great place to dine solo as well as it has a basement with a counter.
l.
I can see why this place always has a queue.
The menu is just the right size, & the pasta is fresh, simple, & delicious.
The service is prompt (2 of is ordered 4 dishes & we were done <1hour).
Warning: there is always a queue. The restaurant is small, with a couple outdoor tables. But the food is tasty.
C.
My favourite real Italian restaurant in London, you need to be very lucky to find a table as they admit no reservation but on the day and place, caccio e pepe is my favourite here.
S. S.
One of the best Italian restaurants we've been to in a long long time. Phenomenal food, even better service. Paul at the entrance and May (our host) really looked after us and ensured we had an experience to remember! Can't recommend Padella enough :)
M. C.
Definitely good quality pasta and very generous in pricing. We tried 5 different kinds - beef ragu, pici, gnocchi, duck ravioli, and tomato sauce pasta. They were all delicious but small portions. We loved the tomato sauce one the best and beef ragu was very nice too. We did have to wait for one hour despite arriving there for lunch before it had opened. Staff was friendly and small but cozy inside. Don’t think it’s very baby or child friendly as the space is limited.
E. W.
We came about half an hour before opening and waited about 45 min before being seated. We were seated in the basement, though the upper floor was empty (maybe we weren't beautiful enough to be window candy). The gnocchi was perfection! So was the Salami Fennel & Garlic, the sourdough bread with olive oil and the Blackcurrant Americano. BUT, the 'Pici' (thick pasta) I ordered came out rather tasteless and undercooked. Padella has the reputation of perfect pasta so this surprised and disappointed us!
O. S.
Padella located in Borough market has a walk up App system for booking tables which we made use of. The app gives an approximate waiting time for a table along with the days menu.
We were fortunate in that the original 110 - 120 minutes wait was reduced by 30 minutes. We were contacted by text to inform us that our table was ready. The system allows you to respond and you have 10 minutes to take your seats.
The staff were very helpful and friendly and the menu was quite limited which made choosing your meal very easy.
We enjoyed some antipasti, a main and dessert.
The wine list is also limited.
The food was served hot although the portions are quite small.
The food was good but not outstanding.
We enjoyed a leisurely two hours seated outside.
The restaurant is very busy and quite popular. So it is probably best to pre-book and reserve a table. We will probably revisit but at a less busy time.
N. M.
Padella is a popular Italian restaurant located on the edge of Borough Market. As a result, you should expect it to be busy more often than not. We arrived an hour before lunch service and managed to get seated, while some larger groups were asked to leave a name/number and return later.
The restaurant has a select menu of very reasonably priced dishes. The serving size is quite small (this is a good thing) so it’s recommended to get a few dishes to share. My wife and I got the ragu, the gnocchi and the Pici cacio - all were delicious. We also order a slice of chocolate tart, which was pretty tasty, though not as quite good as the pasta.
The service was very good, never keeping us waiting for very long. The food also came out in a timely manner.
Wholeheartedly recommend.
H. K.
You have to queue to get on the waiting list, after waiting you get a text and need to be back in 10 minutes, they are very strict on this.
The food is excellent, one plate each wasn’t enough but 4 was a little much which I don’t regret at all!
A must visit for a foodie Londoner, no way to avoid the queue, arrive a bit before 5 and you’ll have to wait around up to 45 minutes which is reasonable.
M. C.
Lined up for 40 minutes before they opened but it was well worth the wait. The beef ragu was cooked perfectly. The gnocchi is simple but the texture is amazing and just melts in your mouth. One of the best I've ever had.
F. A.
This place is yumm. Authentic taste made right in front of you. Went to the london bridge one. This pasta is called pici cacio & pepe.
G. A.
Amazingly delicious. I have to come back and eat the others in the menu! Friendly staff as well. It's more recommended to come in the late afternoon on weekdays for less queuing.
R. B.
Food and service were both great! It's really the queue which can turn people off as this place is very hyped. You can queue online but average its 1-2 hours. Not a wide variety but the offers are great anyway. Quite a hipster type of ambiance, affordable menu. Ask for the specials which aren't on the regular menu!
S. M.
Great pasta place, as everyone knows. Plate sizes are smaller, so if you're very hungry then get enough. Closed for kitchen turnover between 3:30-5 pm.
Use WalkUp App to check queue and find a spot.
S. S.
Great Italian restaurant I’ve ever had!! Lively ambience restaurant serving fresh pasta with small price as shown in the menu below. I would suggest you to come early otherwise you need to reserve a table then you gonna get a message when your table is ready.
P. T.
Love padella so much, but servers not wearing masks in such a small space is not okay. Mask up, please 😷🍝
p.
Amazing pasta for a friendly price. The pasta ragu was outstanding, yes there is a wait but absolutely worth it. One of the best Italian restaurants in London.
I. V.
I finally got a table during the last 30 minutes of lunch. I tried 4 of the main dishes, in some sort of tasting menu. All sauces were delicious and quite unique: anchovies in one, pesto in the other, nutmeg in the third and lemon butter …
M. D.
Definitely the best pasta I ever had.
When in doubt, I can highly recommend the Pici cacio & pepe
J. O.
Perfectly tasty food if a little over-hyped. I have tried 3 or 4 times to get in here. Well worth a trip on the eat our to help out scheme as the prices are affordable. There was no salad available and the burrata had a slightly sour taste as though it wasn't completely fresh.
M. O.
Not sure if it's worth all the hype, but it is very good. Great food and service. Definitely worth a visit at least once if you're after some good fresh authentic pasta. Fantastic value for money too.
J. I.
I had planned to visit Padella for a long time , well before the pandemic, but friends always seemed to change their plans last minute and it did not happen, until today. So, so worth the wait !. I am in a food coma. The apertives were tasty , moreish but the portions are just right.
Then came the pasta, delicious, sublime . I ordered dessert and went for the chocolate and salted caramel tart, it does not disappoint , do not share 😁. Service was brilliant, efficient, friendly, smooth, clear and comprehensive. I can see why they have won awards and are on 'best lists.
S. T.
Lovely place with delicious food! Nice staff and good services! Better arrive early because the queue was quite long. All fresh home made pasta served in small portion so it’s good to try as many things as you can.
s. b.
What a pasta place should be like, really comforting and great flavours
I've finally been able to visit (covid meant a smaller queue). Had three dishes between two, it was the right amount of food and good value
K. Y.
Had a hour wait but was able to put name down and walk around Borough Market. When we’re finally seated, we were told we had 1.5 hours to dine. It was plenty of time if you order all the pastas you want (and more). The sourdough bread with Puglian olive oil was a great starter with the Castrlvetrano green olives. The radicchio, watercress and rocket salad were also ok. The tortellini of duck in chicken brodo with sage was highly disappointing.
Yes, the chicken broth was amazing and the tortellini were also tasty, except they were the size of tiny rocks. Maybe around the size of a dime, no more than a nickel. It was shocking. Anyways the other pastas made up for it: tagliarini with Dorset crab, chili and lemon (crab strands mixed in), gnocchi with nutmeg butter (so soft), and pappardelle with fennel sausage and peppercorn ragu (meaty). Even after finishing the pastas, we definitely could’ve went for more or dessert, but we couldn’t waste doughnuts from Borough Market.
A. G. M.
Simply the gold standard of all the London pasta bars.
Wonderful staff.
Perfect pasta.
A beer, an English wine, a house made lemonade, a salad, four pasta dishes was £54 with service charge.
Ensure to use the new online virtual queuing app.
F. G.
Excellent cuisine. The menu is fantastic... there are far more options than in other restaurants. There were many locals waiting for pick-up, so this is definitely a place to visit!
G. K.
Excellent food! Fresh pasta! Great customer service. The place was full and the bookings were going through queue list on the app which it was really convenient. The sitting plan is not the best and not very comfortable. So minus a star only for the sitting plan. From food side, I tried 3 dishes: Tagliarini with dry chili, garlic & pangrattato, Fettuccine with Cobble Lane Cured nduja, mascarpone & lemon, Ravioli of Delica pumpkin and ricotta with butter & sage. The Tagliarini was a bit spicy with large amount of chilli. The Fettuccine it was delicious! But the Ravioli it was the best out of these 3. I could eat this dish forever.
N.
This place deserves 6 stars!
The pasta never disappoints. Randomly pick 2 pastas per person, sit back and gorge yourself.
F. G.
Managed to dine in before London went to lockdown. Ordered the pici cacio and pappardelle pastas and I found the pici pasta quite unique and tasted great. The pappardelle sauce was alright but wasn’t as tasty as what I thought. Overall it’s a nice Italian restaurant, there seems to be long queue or waiting list so do come here early to get a spot. You can also do pasta takeaways too.
S. G.
This place rocks. Some of the best pasta, at the best price I've ever tasted across the world.
Dishes not to miss - all of them. Bring friends, get everything on the menu. It won't set you back too much and you're guna love it all.
S. P.
Fantastic food for an amazing price! Long lines all day! I have been many times, it is just beside the entrance to the borough market. I typically go for lunch as the wait can be 30 minutes or so, but for dinner the wait can be as long as hours, in which case they text you when your table isready, but you can be turned away if the wait is too long. It is worth the wait!! The dishes are small so it is not uncommon to order an extra dish or 2 for the table. The cacio y pepe is fantastic!! Highly recommend it. The sourdough is also fantastic!!
V. K.
Great restaurant with quality food! Fresh and tasty pasta, buratta and olives. Some of the staff is very friendly and helpful some of them rude and ignorant. Modern interior and great location- next to Borough Market. Waiting time around 1hour for 2 people, if you come as a group be ready to wait longer. Toillets dirty and smelly.
A. J.
The queuing was not too bad in a sunny Saturday morning. We arrived 20 minutes before they opened (11.40am) and were seated at 12.20pm. We ordered bread and burrata cheese to start, three main dishes to share, perfect portion for two people and sooooo delicious. Will definitely visit again.
J. Y.
I can highly recommend this place except the fact that you should wait outside for at least 30 mins. The bread, olive oil and Burrata cheese are really amazing. Surprisingly and also unfortunately, the pasta menu isn’t good as much as them, although I tried 4 dishes.
M. S.
The food was delicious and the service great. But the lines are ridiculous and we waited about 5 hours in total (got there around 1:30 on a Sunday and it was fully booked until lunchtime close (3pm). Went back to queue when it re-opened at 5pm and only got seated around 6:30). Was it worth the 5 hour wait? I honestly don't know. I enjoyed my dinner and it was a reasonable price (the dishes are quite small so you need to order at least 3 pasta between 2 people). However I don't think I would go back until they open a bigger store elsewhere hopefully with shorter lines!
D. F.
WalkUp worked a treat and we were so pleased to have dinner. Great ingredients crafted into authentic delicious dishes!
P. T.
Once you get past the fact that you will have to queue... the pasta is incredible! Get there early - we got there half an hour before opening and still weren’t the first in. Everything is great, and prices are very reasonable. One plate isn’t quite enough though so, might have to order a couple plates per person (or share, if you’re feeling generous). Staff are also super friendly. 100% recommend.
H. W.
Well made tasty pasta! The value is good IF you don't need to queue for a long time. I wouldn't recommend it if it's a more than 15 mins wait. It's a quick casual dining type of place, food is tasty but I wouldn't say it's worth long wait to be honest. Staff are super nice though, which is a plus.
Also they have an online virtual queueing app called Walkin. It got full quickly, so it's better to check on the app first before you walk in. We didn't know there is a virtual queue before we went there and the virtual queue was already full when we were there. We were luck to get seat without waiting because some cancellations or something. But to avoid disappointment, strongly recommend to check on the app before you go!
G. C.
Everyone has raved about this place. It was good but my expectations were really high so I wasn't blown away.
p. l.
Pasta from Padella is just great!!! Always busy. I waited for 3 hours! But don’t worry, they text people when table is ready. I enjoyed the waiting time with a walk along Thames and a visit to Tate museum. Better idea to check in first.
C. R.
When you feel like you have travelled abroad and eaten authentic food, you know it’s good. Hats off to the team for developing such a unique and successful restaurant
J. B.
A must visit when you are in London! The food is absolutely delicious!!! We had Burrata, Gnocchi and pappardelle pasta! Moreover, we had the chocolate cake with caramel ice cream! If you are reading this review and thinking whether to visit - don't think twice. Located next to Borough market which is another must visit:)
P. D.
Reliably awesome. Incredible fresh handmade pasta. Service is always friendly and quick. Even with the COVID dividers in the restaurant, there's still a great atmosphere. Would highly recommend. Yes, there's always a queue, but you don't have to physically wait inline, just get down early and queue virtually while having a drink in one of the many nearby pubs.
M. D.
Great ambiance in Borough Market… pasta was perfect. Try a few for the table
A. B.
Is padella as good as the hype - and worth the queue? Yes. Yes it is. Fabulous food. Great atmosphere. Best service I've seen in a long time. I'll be back - next time I have a spare 30 mins, take a coffee and a good book to queue with!
F. A.
This place is yumm. Authentic taste made right in front of you. Went to the london bridge one. This pasta is called pici cacio & pepe.
E. B.
My boyfriend and I stopped by for lunch while we were at Borough Market. We had the Pappardelle and the Ravioli and both were amazing. However, the beef shin in the ragu was outstanding.
Gets a little noisy, but we could still hear each other so was not an issue. The waitstaff were super attendant but didn’t pop in too frequently.
Great place.
K. H.
Met with a friend for dinner and sat at the counter so we could see what was happening in the kitchen. Ordered the burrata and sour dough which was divine. Then I had the crab pasta which was a good portion size and really tasty. Service was good and we didn't feel rushed.
E. B.
So I live in Los Angeles and recently found myself in group meditation session (ugh, I'm sorry) where I was instructed to envision a place where I feel safe and happy. And I'm not exaggerating or being cute when I tell you I envisioned sitting at the bar at Padella. This is my favorite place in the world. I have had several friends visit London and not follow my recommendation of coming here and have since disregarded their tastes and sensibilities. The food is sublime and so affordable. I usually don't eat meat but I make an exception for the Dexter beef shin ragu. It has been one year and 13 days since I've been in London at Padella and not a day goes by that I don't think about it.
H. W.
Great pasta popular restaurant. We were lucky to get the seats straight away, otherwise the queue is crazy. The food was good, and staffs were friendly but very busy. I like it a lot, but don't think it's that amazing I will queue for 1-2 hours for that. I give 4 stars as the service can be more attentive.
K. v. E.
Place always has a line out the door but for good reason, the pasta is amazing at otherworldly prices. Not sure how the restaurant is profitable but amazing pastas all under 10£. Menu changes frequently. Try to get there and hour or two before you actually want to eat, although you can wait in the digital queue and explore borough market while waiting. Definitely best for small parties as it was once a reported 4 hour wait for my party of 6.
B. S. (.
Small pasta restaurant. Normally has a queue outside the door, has they normally don't sit much. Pasta is cooked in front of your eyes, in a open kitchen.
G. J.
You might be put off by the long waiting time but that’s because it’s one of the best pasta places in town. Amazing sauces to compliment the freshly made pasta without overpowering it. The menu changes regularly with enough choices to appeal to anyone and all reasonably priced for the quality and service you get.
R. P.
Very delicious and cheap pasta restaurant in London. Need to plan in advance because it is very crowded. I waited around 30 mins before going in to the restaurant. The price per plate is around 6-12£.
R.
Outstanding food, very fresh (made in store) and quality ingredients, but portion sizes are on the small side. Most dishes are around £6-8, with additional daily specials which are usually worth a try. Additionally, be careful as there's a serious queue around opening time and rush hour.
한.
Great food, especially fresh oil and pasta! Friendly staff as well. There is no doubt to say it's a perfect pasta flavour in London. But one thing that I couldn't like is toilet.
S. K.
The hype is REAL! We were staying near Borough Market, so in a strategic enough location go enter the queue around 11:30am and the resulting 45 mins wait didn't feel too bad. The pasta more than makes up for it! We decided on two to share and it was utterly delicious -- the pici cacio e pepe is their signature but I LOVED the dexter beef ragu the most. Get the burrata as a starter, too. I agree with the reports that say to skip the soft drinks-- cans are TINY and oh so pricey. Would recommend to anyone willing to brave a bit of a queue.
A. S.
Definitely recommend for anyone wanting to try out a new restaurant, super affordable and incredible food. Staff were friendly and we can't wait to go back!
D. K.
Definitely worth to check out of you're around. Incredible place with great homemade fresh pasta and simplistic but delicious pastas. The nutmeg butter gnocchi melts in your mouth and the picci pasta was great too. The servers were incredibly nice quick and bubbly, however it is most likely that you would have to wait for at least 15 minutes to enter and get seated, as it is really busy there all the time. Went there on a normal working Tuesday at 9pm and had to wait for 20 minutes to enter, later on the service was really quick though. And the prices are really reasonable too !
m. n.
Super quick service. Had the ideal seats looking into the kitchen. Chefs all have a role and they execute it perfectly. Super quick to cook and they are always on the go. Credit to the head chef for tasting and plating the dishes. Excellent daily special of mushroom pasta. Also tried the crab and chilli pasta which was a bit bland and the grouse pasta which was a bit oversalted for me. Will go again and will try the other options.
T. R.
Delicious and fresh, tap wine was also great! Would definitely recommend, go to get your name down if you want to eat! I loved the pangrattato dish and the pick dish.
J. R.
High quality Italian pasta and accouterments, along with lovely service, and a beehive of a location - this place lives up to the hype. If you can sit at the bar you'll get a real view into how the magic happens.
To get a spot - you need to be there after 5 to 7 to put your name down. Realistically, if you don't have your name down by 6:00 - you may go hungry.
Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz

Got here 5.45 on a sunday night. Waited 15 mins in the que and then table was ready at just past 7. Couple places nearby to sit down and have a drink while waiting for table. We ordered 4 mains between 2 people and this was perfect amount as some of the dishes are small. Also was nice to try the variety of dishes. Food was delicious and we sat right overlooking the kitchen. Was expecting que to be much longer wait but i guess sundays are probably not too bad. We both agreed we would def go back again
C. M.
Very lovely evening at Padella, we were seated straight away from the host at the door and shortly after our waitress Stefania from Sardinia come up to us and explained the specials of the day and of course we took the seared beef carpaccio as well as the anchovy bruschetta, the burrata, the salami and the home made bread for starters and For main the pici cacio pepe were a must we also had the tagliarini with mussels and the special white beef ragù all accompanied with a lovely Gavi white wine. Stefania was very attentive and friendly at the same time. All the staff was very attentive
R. R.
We joined a virtual queuing system and had to wait around 90 minutes for a table but boy was it worth the wait. We ordered 3 pasta dishes to share between the 2 of us.....the portions are not huge ...... Gnocchi with sage butter, Pici cacio & Pepe and Ravioli of Delica pumpkin & Westcombe Ricotta with sage butter. All dishes were freshly made before us and served piping hot. Complimentary sparkling water was also provided. Very reasonably priced and well worth a visit. 5 stars from us.
g. d.
The food here is really good! Went twice in one week wish I lived in London! The service and ambience is good as well. We don't get that kind of service in Portsmouth. What we ate.. We ate alot! The nettle pasta with nutmeg and egg to die for! The pappardelle with beef Ragu. Gnocchi with mint and peas. These were like soft fluffy pillows. Omg yumm! the Tagliatelle with nduja and mascarpone was delicious as well. ! We did eat the rhubarb and Almond tart was so good!
The only downside is the waiting times and long line. We'll some would say it's worth the waiting time I would agree. But time is precious and there's so much to do if u r visiting London from neighboring places. Wish the reservation for the evenings were better as in a better system. I walked in line the other day for an hour just to give my name for a time slot. Which she wouldn't take until she filled up other time slots. Maybe find another system for that. !
I. R.
Finally got to try this super trendy Padella.. After 1 hour of queue! The place is nice inside, cosy but not too much personality in it. Prices are insanely cheap for London, love it. Quality is good but I missed an "incredible" taste in my dish. Overall okay but nothing too impressive. Staff is friendly though.
K. D.
Exquisite. Delicious. This is such a gem of a restaurant in borough market. I recommend coming early and lining up. There were atleast 80 people in line 30 min before opening this past Saturday. Their pasta is made in house and cooked through perfection. I recommend the Dorset crab, lemon, and Chili pasta. It's warming but a lighter fare. Definitely get some wine to pair with.
V. M.
Great place. You have to wait. But the red wine is very good. The bread fresh sourdough everyday with lovely olive oil and vinegar to suit. We ordered 3 pastas. The best of them all the PICI. SPEC-TAC-U-LAR. The ravioli also was good. The tagliarini was not very good unfortunately. So 4/5.
W. E.
Best Pasta in London so far for me! homemade fresh pasta yummmm We had to wait for a hour but it was worth it and You can put your name on the list and do a bit of shopping in Borough market and when the table is ready they’ll call you, simply as that!
T. C.
Great food at very reasonable prices. The burrata was excellent. The pasta was very good too though the 8hr shin ragu lacked a little oomph.
Okay, 2 years later I'm back. Waited 40 minutes after getting here at 1145 on a Thursday. Had the parpadelle al ragu, I have to say it was amazing. The pici cacio e pepe was less so, pasta was great but the sauce just a bit too salt heavy. If you were expecting something like the sauce you get in Rome, then you'll be disappointed
R. A.
Great popular pasta restaurant just outside Borough Market. The food was good, service fast and friendly with very reasonable prices. Not sure if it was worth the 1-hour wait, but still an enjoyable experience overall!
G. H.
A diamond of a place next to Borough Market. Staff were super lovely, wine was great and the pasta really was delicious. You can leave your number and they'll call you when a table is available and around Borough Market that's a good deal, there are loads of lovely places around. Enjoy!
A. N.
Finally went in as no queue on a cold winters evening. Beef shin papardelle very good but could have been hotter when served.
J. J.
Amazing, the quality and the price. It's definitely worth the wait in the queue. It's a small restaurant but their pasta is superb and it's very reasonably priced 5-8£ / dish. I would highly recommend and would go back myself many times over. Many of these dishes we ordered were excellent and we all walked away with smiles! Mmmm mmmm! Update: they take your name and phone and will text you when your table is ready !
H. C.
Have to queue to book a table it can be a long wait. However it is worth it.
Friendly staff and quickish service.
All the dishes look amazing, very good atmosphere in the restaurant.
Pasta is cooked fresh and delicious.
Very reasonable price too.
Would go back again!
Q. T.
The Pasta & service was amazing everyone was friendly !! Great staff !! but one major issue I thought was disgusting the young male bartender/ dessert guy at the downstairs using his bare hands to cut the deserts and actually touching it & never once did I see him wash his hands as he touched many things .. from making drinks , pulling espressos . Touching his hair and then cutting the pies was very unsanitary especially with all the germs goin around and infecting ppl .. plz enforce gloves especially while he’s doing this in front of the guest
C. T.
Great Italian food! Probably one of the best I've had in London, although the presentation for some of the dishes could be better. Affordable prices for small-ish portions. Queued around 25 minutes.
C. W.
Finally got round to visiting. Incredible food - simple yet somehow extravagant. Amazing prices. Staff feel rushed and good luck getting a table - but if you can, DO!
G. P.
Really stumbled on our visit - service good, pre-made items like the burrata cheese great. But of our three pasta dishes, one was heavily over-salted (sent it back and replaced) and another was flatly bland (surprisingly this was the anchovy butter pasta). The next table didn't eat two of their dishes, complaining both were heavily over-salted - one we had ordered, another we hadn't - which tells me things weren't running like clockwork in the kitchen. It was either a sloppy day there, they were over-stretched, or over-stressed. So if there's all this brouhaha over queueing for a plate of spaghetti or getting a text alert over the next three hours and you better come running in the next ten minutes, I'd expect them to Nail It, every time.
F. C.
This will probably always be my favorite restaurant to dine at. Prices are reasonable, the food is delicious, and the portions are adequate. Staff that is attentive and friendly. Open until very late. There is a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Simply go here. You'd be wasting your time.
S. R.
Staff is super friendly. They make there on pasta right in front of you, and you can taste it. And that all for an amazing price. E.g. a portion of gnocchi for only £4 and a total of not even £50 for two people. Including wine!
H. S.
I really enjoy their ragu and homemade pasta. For the price, the size is reasonable and the quality of the food great. It brings me a slice of Italy in London
M. D.
I have really enjoyed the meal here! Its one of those rare places where pasta didnt disappoint me! The service is excellent and the food is great. The pasta is tasty and its really made by themselves, you can feel it in the texture and the taste. Loved the fettucini and the burrata ! Not reservation are taken, i had to wait 40 minutes... but it was worth !
I.
Best (handmade) pasta I've ever had - Worth the long wait!
Few things first - Be ready to wait in line, it might take 40-60 min just to add your name to the queue. The place accepts credit cards (was important to me as a tourist in the city)
Once you are in, the service might take a while - The place is packed! All the pasta is handmade and when you get it... it's divine. The consistency, the texture, the taste - Everything is just perfect. My wife and I had the two ragu options and we were blown away by both. We ended up asking for another Pappardelle with 8 hour Dexter beef shin ragu because it was that delicious. The meat was so tender, so perfect. Just writing this, makes me want to go back and have another one.
The place is not cheap and the plates are not super big but I believe it worth it.
P.S Try their lemon tart. It's the perfect end of that meal.
P.P.S We spoke to the owner and it seems you can actually mix the different kinds of pasta with their additions. Worth a try!
K. W.
Well thought out flavours and excellent service… it could be a good value meal if you can avoid the temptation of ordering the whole menu
A. R.
I've waited quite a long time to try this much talked restaurant, and then again 30 minutes to get a table and the food, and the service too, was well worth the wait.
The dishes (fettuccine in anduja sauce, sourdough bread, salted caramel ice-cream) and drink (negroni) I tried were delicious and very well priced. The service was prompt, with dishes well explained. I'd love to return!
C. F.
Worth the wait, honest, flavourful, inexpensive. The stracci with sweet onion roquefort and thyme is the best pasta I have ever tasted. Great drinks selection. Service patchy in style but majority wonderful. Counter seat is a must for a foodie! 9/10.
J. P.
Freshly made pasta with amazing texture topped with very tasty sauces. Food is very affordable and service is casual and friendly. No wonder there is always a queue!!
G. V.
We were not disappointed. Perfect small and friendly atmosphere. The food was fantastic I can't wait to go again.
F. C.
Excellent handmade pasta at super affordable prices - rate combination. Pastas were very simple and very fresh. Line gets really long. Got here half an hour before it opened on a Saturday and got into the first seating thankfully.
J. B. H.
Great food! Small portions but it is so cheap that you can take several dishes which makes the experience even nicer as you can try several ones. The only down side is the big line, but that is only a proof of how good it is. I recommend going for a really early dinner at 5 and start getting in line at 4.30.
L. N.
I never understood the fascination with Italian cuisine until I had Padella.
I have waited 3 hours to get a table before - just to give you context at how good the pasta actually is. Also, very reasonably priced.
I would suggest you share 3 plates between two or 4 if you're hungry.
Aperol Spritz has also been the best one I ever had.
And you can end the meal on a good note with their salted caramel ice cream - 2 generous scoops of high quality ice cream with the perfect amount of saltiness.
The only point taken off is for the ambience. Very packed, uncomfortable seating!
A. L.
I would never choose a pasta restaurant to eat at just because it feels a bit too simple for me when looking at eating out, but Padella was absolutely delicious. I'd heard great things so we decided to give it a go on a busy Saturday, and managed to get a spot fairly quickly.
I wish I knew the name of the person serving us as they were incredibly attentive and helpful! I love the way the dishes are brought to you in the order they feel will compliment them the most.
Very reasonable prices and the pasta is amazing. Highly recommend the Cacio & Pepe!
R. R.
Is it possible to cry from great pasta? The answer is yes, here at Padella, where for extremely affordable prices you get great food. Staff seemed really friendly both in the kitchen and on the floor. Definitely recommend their pici and their green tagliateni
W.
One of the best pasta restaurants in London!!
I tried their ravioli and Cacio de pepe (their staple), and I preferred the ravioli more. Great service but the line is long. If you don’t want to wait, you can order take out and eat around Tate modern since there are a lot of benches.
G. C.
Cheap and cheerful bistro. The average price for a big plate of pasta was £6. That is an amazing price for somewhere so central. Fresh pasta, great flavours and wonderful service. Highly recommended. However, the wait is so long!!! Prepare to queue and wait hours for the meal. However you can leave your number and come back. Only reason it doesn't get the final star.
C. L.
Good pasta, good wine. Not exactly worth waiting long in line for but still tasty. Beef carpaccio special was amazing and service was great.
A. B.
As I was reminiscing my visit to Padella last year, it reminded me to leave a review. Definitely a must do spot if you’re around Tower Bridge or Borough market. Hands down one of the best pasta in the area, which stands out in it’s simplicity and quality. We had 3 pasta split between the two of us, we leftovers for later. The gnocchi is a must do.
M. P.
Worth the queue if you haven't booked. Small concise menu with dishes of hand made pastas packed with flavour at very fair price.
Can't fault any dish..the Tagliarini & Fettuccini dishes are inspired & their Negroni are to die for!!
Go there Now!
S. S.
Good hearty portion with affordable price. We had to wait for 40 mins, but you can walk around the market or grab coffee nearby while waiting.
We ordered:
Pappardelle with 8 hours Dexter beef shin ragu- flavourful and hearty
Tagliarini with Dorset crab, chilli & lemon- light but wish there was a bit more crab for more flavour.
But overall, good and fast service.
D. L.
I personally think it's popular because there is only one outlet. The food is decent with seasonal menu, but I really wouldn't recommend waiting for >45 min for the food. Price is also slightly on the expensive side for the portion size. The fact that people starts queuing before the place is opened means that there is no way to avoid queuing at all.
J. F.
As someone who frequents padella more than is humanly possible I speak as someone who loves them more than life itself. The staff are amazing and the food is even better. The only reason for 4 stars is the price increase and the slightly cramped setting of the London Bridge venue. Worth the time to head to shoreditch and eat at their newer venue there. I do love you padella xoxo
S. M.
Padella is overrated. If you are a visitor in London, spend the time it will take between queue and eating on something that is absolutely incredible and allows reservations.. Or just head elsewhere inside the market!
Yes, the pasta is pretty good at best, but the heat while you are stuck in queue (they were not allowing us to leave the line- if we did we would lose our place) wiped us out and almost kept us from wanting to eat.
Also, service is hands down two stars. We sat at the back left corner directly beside where the managers hang out and the drink and bread station are. Even with what I would consider a prime location to be noticed, we consistently waited for someone to help us (taking food/drink orders, refills, check-ins, etc) which is not good customer service practice.
However, the bread and taglierini are musts if you go to all the trouble just to eat there.
l.
Good Italian restaurant where pasta it's the main star in the menu. If you are craving for pasta, just head here, but bear in mind, they are walk in only and most of the time you'll have to wait. You'll have to put your name down in a list and they will text you. Weekend gets full at about 6:30pm, 7pm. Apart from that, the seating area it's big with two floors, staff it's Friendly but chilled. The starters are correct and pasta it's fresh, very tasty and with a daily special out if the menu. They just have two white wines or two reds in a 125ml or 500ml, but then, it's hard to think to get a bottle since the food it's not heavy enough. Not impressed but worth trying it.
L. R.
What can I say? The reviews speak for themselves. Truly delicious pasta. Is it worth a 2hrs queue? Probably not. But it is definitely an excellent value for the money, fresh and super tasty. Gnocchis were my personal favorite!
J.
While I had to also queue like everyone else, it is so worth it. Once you're in service is relatively efficient and very friendly... But most importantly the food is divine. Simple, fresh, honest food. Had two brilliant pasta dishes, an entree and drinks.
P. G.
Padella is not only a restaurant, it's an experience. The queuing can be madness, you can wait 20 min if you're lucky, or 2 hours if you're not. If you can, I recommend sitting at the bar, as seeing the cooks in action is quite impressive. Needless to say, the prices are low and the quality of the food is superb. If you are in London, you have to go! Oh well, I shouldn't say that, the queues are already long enough...
H. M.
The wait was almost 2 hours but luckily we just put our name down and chilled in a nearby cafe. The food is very reasonably priced and while presented very plainly it was tasty, rich and deep flavour.
On a rainy day there isn't much of a cover near the entrance so best have an umbrella.
R. R.
8 hour dexter beef shin ragu. Enough said.
EDIT: some top notch pastas here. Also the £4 gnocchi with walnut butter to round off the meal was a stroke of genius that I recommend to anyone. Burrata is so soft and tasty.
S. R.
Absolutely fantastic pasta, would recommend 3 plates between two of you if you're both very hungry, otherwise one each will suffice. Highlights include the beef shin ragu and the cacio e pepe. Use the Walkin app to avoid having to queue outside for ages!
R. T.
CHEAPEAST, BEST PASTA IN LONDON!!
I saw this place in a YouTube video so I went one early afternoon and the hostess said politely there's a line but since I was alone, she came and got me from the line after a few mins and I got to be seated at the bar!!! Yay, got to skip the line. Friendly, quick service and nice vibe.
The burrata was delicious with bread, then I tried the Fettuccine w tomatoes for around £6.5 and also the Ravioli, which was £8 and it was like being in Italy!!! I can't wait to go back!
G. A.
Amazingly delicious. I have to come back and eat the others in the menu! Friendly staff as well. It's more recommended to come in the late afternoon on weekdays for less queuing.
K. C.
Good place to drop by for pasta in Borough market. Be reminded there is always queue here that you have to wait, may be around 30-60 minutes.
A. J.
Right by Borough Market, it's a busting small restaurant with some of the best pasta I've had outside of Italy.
Queuing is guaranteed (and you sometimes sense the stress in the service) but that said, it's all worth the while when tasting their delicious food. It's very affordable too - so make sure you get a couple of dishes to share.
F. E.
I can't believe I haven't been to this great place until now. If you love pasta, this place is your heaven. Pappardele Ragu, pici cacio & pepe are my favourites but everything on the menu are so great. I can't recommend this place enough!
P. T.
We queued for about 45 minutes. But once we got to the front we were not disappointed. Highly recommend the pici cacio e pepe - chewy, sumptuous noodles in a creamy and peppery sauce. Ragu pappardelle pleasant enough but missing just something. Recommend trying something else on the menu
r. n.
Need to queue for table, but won’t be long. Food serving is fast. You can order two plate due to the portion quite small. Overall was very good and their spaghetti is the best I ever had. Must try!!
M. W.
Hello Padella... I started lining up at 430pm and managed to get a seating by 5.15! Pasta done al dente for cheap, I should’ve come here hungrier so I could order two portions of everything (most of the patrons were doing that). It’s worth the hype!
A. S.
Gnocci and caccio pepe was perfect! Definitely will go.
Y. J.
Great food with great staff! This place seems to have a long waiting queue all the time unfortunately. They have an app which lets you get in a virtual waitlist online. We were able to walk in ~2:30pm for lunch. Bruschetta was to die for and the sourdough bread was also very soft and warm. Pastas were also really good. Loved the ragu pasta! Will definitely come back when I visit London again!
G. G.
Was pretty good, but not great. We have been trying to eat here for ages and perhaps are expectations were too high.
M. P.
A stellar pasta joint located at Borough Market. We though we were early for lunch but we didn't see the line snake around the corner. Nonetheless the turnover is quick and we only waited about 30 mins to get in and once you're seated and have ordered it comes out pretty quick. Our waitress was friendly and prompt and the pasta was to die for! If only I had two stomachs that day! I got the green tagiatelle special with cured egg yolk and my boyfriend got the fettucine with nduja with marscapone and lemon (spicy!) . Cost wise was pretty cheap for London standards too.
J. Z. C. H.
Interesting pasta with great sauce and innovative infusion of flavour. Slightly on the pricey side, green pasta at 10euro and the other at 7euro with no meat or vegetable. Wait is 40mins from opening, recommend to go at about 130 as there would be less waiting time then.
C. P.
Beautifully cooked pasta and lovely dessert. Worth booking via the QR code outside to avoid disappointment. It is that popular
S. A.
A popular, recommended place for well-priced freshly made pasta. Loved the delicious crab tagliarini, gnocchi and ricotta and sage ravioli that we had. Be ready to queue and wait for your turn as the restaurant can only sit and cater to a certain number of people at one go. Servers here are attentive and friendly.
L. O.
Tagliarini in tomato sauce and Pappardelle ragu are both fantastic. Pear and almond tart too. Portions are average. I would suggest be half an hour early to be in the queue.... either prior to opening or 5pm whereby they open for dinner...
B. T.
Wonderful pasta, good portions to share and pricing is spot on. You'll be waiting a while if you don't get on the virtual queue quick enough (get in at 6pm). Beef Ragu is melt in the mouth and soul satisfying, have to get Burrata for starter. Really helpful staff, check on you and wonderfully friendly and the pasta suggestions were great
C. L.
I had heard a lot about Padella before coming to London, so a trek to borough market of course meant starting for dinner.
You have to put your name on the just, and they text you to come back when you're table is ready - do this early, as it is very very popular. We waited two hours for a table to open up.
The service was fast and friendly, they have great explanations and recommendations, and the food was to die for.
Definitely get the burrata, and try the Calcio e Pepe!
C. Y.
Lovely burrata and pasta!
S. K.
One of the best pasta places in London! The queue is always long, but moves at a steady pace. The food is very reasonably priced. The dishes are small in size, so perfect to get a starter and mains and have some room left to share dessert.
A. T.
Great atmosphere (can be loud inside), amazing food (pasta is simple and delicious!) that comes fast.
If you don't like to wait long in a queue, to get a seat for lunch on a weekend you need to come at least 30 mins before open time, but it's totally worth it!
P. V.
Hommade fresh pasta is very delicious! I got a pici and it is delicious. Then pasta textire is great. The taste is salty and sour, which is amazing.
I started queueing 20 mins before the restaurant opened and I waited for 40 mins. It is totally worth the wait!
Highly recommended!
B. G.
Long wait, but if planned carefully: totally worth it. Great hand made pasta and quick service. Very busy, though.
A. L.
Amazing food!!! Highly recommended, go for the pulled pork. Went very well with the al dente pasta. It was so so so so good. All the pasta dishes are very tasty and freshly made. The desserts are also very good, and so were the wines. Pricewise, very reasonable as well. This is now one of my favourite places to visit.
L. S.
Worth the wait.
Staff are mostly nice but some are extremely rude. Specially the lady/ies at the entrance.
Most plates are way too small so should order more tha one.
You can sit in front of the open kitchen and see how cooking is done. I have not gone back since I saw a cook double dip a spoon to taste the saltiness of the water.
Optional gratuity I have found is not optional.
J. E.
Amazing quality. For the price as well, it's fabulous. Portions look small on arrival but are quite filling. I'll be going back...again and again and again.
o. m.
FABULOUS
Yes, we did queue for approximately 20 minutes and it was quite chilly outside....
But, it was worth every second of waiting outside in the London cold.
We sat at the bar, and that gave us the privilege of seeing our food being made. Everything was freshly cooked and chopped in front of our eyes.
We ordered burrata and sourdough bread for starters, two different pasta dishes and a pear tart for dessert. The food was delicious we enjoyed every bite and each course had it's special touch!
The service was great. Definitely a culinary pit stop in your London travels.
J. M.
There's a reason this place doesn't take reservations yet gets fully booked via queue within about 10-15 of opening - it's really fng good. It opens at 12pm noon on Saturday, and I queued up around 11:50am. I waited maybe 30 minutes and was then quoted 30 minutes wait for my table. I'd recommend getting there by 11:30am for a shot to get in earlier. Now for the pastas - they're fresh (house-made) and fantastic. The Cacio e Pepe was perfectly al dente with great flavor.. absolutely loved the combo of flavors on the fettuccine with nduja/mascarpone/lemon.. and the fettuccine with grouse special (a local bird at the height/near the end of its season) was outstanding as well - slightly gamey but complemented perfectly by the accompanying mushrooms and sauce. Get here early and come hungry!
J. L.
The nutmeg butter gnocchi was amazingly fragrant and its texture was really pleasant 🤩 Pictures taken in early 2019.
N. S.
The wait was long but it was worth it. Price is absolutely affordable and oh the pasta... it’s almost to die for. Order the pici cacio e pepe when you’re there.
N. M.
Is this the best pasta I've ever had? It might just be. Ordered the Gnocci and Tagliarini and some sour dough bread between the two of us for lunch. At less than a fiver per plate, described as "tasters", we were advised to go for a third plate of pasta but we didn't need to. Portions were good, and flavours out of this world. Sitting and watching the open kitchen was a bonus. Deffo make a stop here if you're in the area
C. L.
Went there for an early dinner at around 5 to avoid the long queue. My friend and I were the first few groups of people that got seated. We ordered the Dexter Beef Pappardelle and Tagliarini. Both are great! The beef is very tender. The other one is a bit spicy and will excite your palate!
J. L.
Good pasta but long wait. Can't beat the prices though. Portions were a good size and the staff were attentive. Would recommend if you haven't been before.
S. B.
If you love food you will love Padella. One of my favorite restaurants in all of London and Europe, it's a great concept, offering amazing food at accessible prices.
While it is all about the pasta, you can't go and not order the Burrata & bread to start off. We usually get that and 4 pasta dishes to share for a pretty sizable meal for two. I would recommend that in order to sample as much as possible of the changing menu.
If you don't mind standing for a bit, I would suggest arriving 30 mins before opening (both for lunch & dinner) to secure a spot in the first serving. Otherwise you can put your name down and spend upwards of an hour in the area waiting for your turn. If you love food you will be used to queuing for the good spots around the world and you will certainly not regret queuing here.
V.
Be prepared to have your mind blown by amazing homemade pasta! Also be aware of the minimum 20mn queue. Also the restaurant closes between 3pm and 5pm. The portions are made small but cheap so you can try many things. On this picture I took spinach ravioli with ricotta.(tiny but so damn good!) And my friend the 8 hour smoked beef Ragu pasta around £10 - stunning!
G. C.
i came here in 2018 - you have to queue to get a queue number to be in the queue. i can understand why the rating of the place is so high. look at the quality of the pasta!! not a cheese fan at all but finished the whole plate. would come back the next time I'm in London!
N. G.
Came for lunch on a busy Friday. Started queuing around 11:40 and was finally seated about an hour later. Luckily the appetizers come out quick—we had sourdough and burrata. For mains I had the pici whilst my friend had the pappardelle with the beef shin Rahul. Both were great. Friendly service, good prices. Just be prepared to queue.
R. M. (. C.
Excellent Italian kitchen! Waits ate fairly long but worth it!!! Try a bit of everything and bring a friend to share. It gets hot in the kitchen but the bar seats are great!
T. H.
Great, simple pasta dishes expertly prepared in a bustling setting. Expect to queue to get on the waiting list, which was 2 hours on a weeknight from 7-9. The cacio e pepe is what most go for, the white bean bruschetta was excellent to start with!
K. S.
Yes, it does live up to the hype. The gnocchi is glorious. Please order it, it’s the best £4 you will ever spend.
I have been hoping to get a table here for about 2 years. Finally managed to get a table for lunch and it was worth the wait. I recommend ordering 3 plates between 2 of you (if you can bare to share!)
D.
Best pasta I've ever had in my life, went for my birthday and queued for three hours but fully worth it so much so that we came back two weeks later 😍
J. L.
They didn't need to advertise this place as I was always shocked by the length of the queues. I thought it must be good.
I saw on the website that in the evenings they do a virtual queuing system so felt a little better about it. We were slightly unlucky as they computer system decided to crash on the night I chose so we waited about 30-40 minutes to get in. We got a seat downstairs, right up against the preparation area. It was great to watch the pasta being made fresh there right in front of you.
The food tastes very fresh and we were advised to get three pastas between 2. Instead we loaded up on starters so that we could try more from the menu. Well worth trying.
O. L.
Fresh pasta, good flavour. Not big portion though. Overall, highly recommend it!
This time I ordered 'Pappardelle with 8 hours Dexter beef shin ragu' + Fettuccine with tomatoes , garlic and basil.
Next time I would like to try Tagliarini.
———————————2nd visit
I have visited it 2nd time now, and this time I did order Tagliarini with garlic, it is very good. Today’s special is Gnocchi, the dish flavour is interesting combination, but I think I prefer Tagliarni more.
R. S.
A delicious selection of pasta dishes but could have been a little more generous with the portions. Particular hilights were the nduja tagliatelle and beef shin ragu. Nice selection of drinks including craft beer, spritz and cocktails. I didn't find the service friendly but we were able to get a table of 6 in fairly quickly on a Friday night despite the queue.
H. E. T.
Went at 12.30pm on a Thursday and had to wait 50mins to get a table for 2. Very tasty and perfectly cooked pasta - my fav was the Pici Cacio e Pepe! but wouldn't wait more than 30mins again..
W. R. (.
Really fantastic fresh pasta. The prices are great, but the portions are small so you will need more than 1 dish per person. Flavours are very good, but I can't give this 5 stars because the food just isn't quite exciting. Simple tasting pasta, great if you are not expecting anything too posh. Expect to queue!
P. P.
If you don’t like pasta, then best not to read on. Padella operates like quite a few places in London, no reservations. They have a queue system whereby once you get there, you can place your details down and then head off for a drink and they’ll call you when they have a table or if you are an eager beaver, you could very well be the first and get seated right away. This place is snug so that doesn’t take long to fill up.
However, what I will say is this: it’s worth the wait. The pasta dishes are very reasonably priced, some evergreen dishes but often they do rotate their menu. I love it. Some of the simplest dishes if done right, is glorious. When we go we often share 3 pasta dishes amongst 2 people (we love to eat!) a starter and vino. One of the memorable dishes that I’ve had there was this simple truffle pasta dish. Yes, that’s an egg yolk in the centre! Yes, it was delicious. No, it didn’t taste raw! It was al-dente, aromatic and so damn good. It’s a place I try and go back to whenever I can...
E. N.
Situated right next to Borough Market, portions are small but reasonably priced. Pasta was cooked al dente, and the dish with nduja is delicious. The restaurant is bigger than it looks - there's a downstairs area with table and bar seating. Wait was about 20 minutes, which I'm told wasn't too long for the standard.
N. T.
Padella features a wonderful experience of fresh, delicious pasta cooked before your eyes. Staff are absolutely friendly and food is wonderful.
P. A.
The place has one of the best pastas in London!! Really nice vegetarian options as well!! And to top it off its extreme value for money as well :)
A. H.
Food was absolutely delicious. Freshly made pasta, great price, super staff!
A. S.
FINALLY! After years of ignoring the incredibly long queue outside, we made it in. Extremely quick and polite service from all members of staff. They're all a credit to the establishment.
We tried the Pici, Stracci and Fettuccini, along with some wine and dessert. Pici was highly recommended by the wait staff and was a highlight. The Stracci was quite delicate and I didn't taste too much gorgonzola overall. Fettuccini was brilliant.
I'd hyped this up a little too much in my own mind and wasn't blown away by the taste compared to some of the pasta I've had in Bancone a while back. As a treat it's still an incredible shout and more than worth the money - the gnocchi and pici are £4/£6 each!
J. G.
One of the best pasta experiences I've had, although you might be in the queue a long time. Recommend arriving quarter before 5 for first dinner sitting.
W. J. H.
The process is you arrive > queue > they get your number and provide an estimated time for your turn > you come back. I arrived around 530pm and it took me around 1 hour to get to in front of the queue. Luckily, since I am eating alone, they manage to get a seat for me close to the door. Food is in very small portion so you might want to order a few and share with friends (or just order extra plate for yourself ;)) If you have never eat fresh pasta before, this is a good place to taste them!
A. K.
magnificent. beautiful. start by getting in. munch on terrific bread. pleasingly prompt with tap water. sharp and silky pasta achieves the impossible. imbibe copious negroni thyme twist, perfectly paired with dreamy Kavinsky/Nightcrawler on the stereo. fragrant, pleasingly crunchy almond pear cake. charming staff tipped me with best times to avoid q.
T. M.
Great food, good price. Overall, worth the wait (but try to arrive early, there was a long queue when we arrived at 5pm on a Saturday). However, they don't want you to stay long: loud music, really cramped and the toilets aren't all that nice... Still, if you're prepared to put up with all that then you'll enjoy it.
N. S.
There's usually an hour's wait if you have don't have a reservation. Your can spend time in borough market while waiting. The pasta tastes fresh. One if the severs was rude but overall a nice spot
M. W.
We arrived at the restaurant shortly after opening just to already find a queue winding around the corner of the building. Luckily it moved quickly and about 45 mins later we had our starters and mains arriving shortly after we ordered. It was really worth the wait, very tasty, value for money pasta dishes.
D.
The food was delicious but the service was a little bit slow. I waited 10 minutes for the waiter to notice me, for asking some bread. At the end, my food was cold, bit still good.
N. N. P.
Really good pasta but you should be prepared to wait at least one hour in a line. If you are hungry, order two pastas! :) I tried Pici cacio & pepe + Pappardelle with 8 hour Dexter beef shin ragu, both are delicious.
S. T.
The pasta here is magnificent! There is almost always a line, so come prepared to wait. But I assure you the wait will most definitely be worth it!
S.
They have the most amazing pasta in London for sureeee. The service is good, food is good, totally worth for the queue. Would go again soon.
I. O.
Amazing pasta dishes, a vibrant atmosphere and prices that won't break the bank. Could have used a slightly larger portion, but maybe that's because it tasted so good!!
K. U.
Went there around 11.45 to queue and still need to wait almost 30 mins to enter the restaurant.
The food is awesome with affordable price
Definitely recommend Beef shin ragu 5/5
A. C.
Great spot for drinks and pasta at a very good price. Slightly overhyped, but still excellent food all the same. Try and avoid peak hours when the wait can go over 2 hours, but there’s plenty to see in Borough Market, Vinegar Yard and other nearby spots that it isn’t too much of a bother. Drinks are also good value and the pici cacio e pepe is definitely the best plate to go for!
H. k.
One of the highly recommended restaurants in London.
Suggest going to borough market at 4pm for a walk and enjoy the market, then go to the Padella line to save a spot (restaurant opens at 5pm).
I was with a friend and we took 3-4 dishes - it was really good!!!
W. L.
4 Star for the food and 1 star for the queueing system. Not sure if it's worth the queue to be honest. They claimed that they operate on a "first come first serve" basis, however today, they let a group of three in first instead of the rest of the queue ahead. This clearly violates the principle of "first come first serve".
Though having said that, pasta was lovely! Freshly made and well cooked. The dessert we had (Hazelnut Praline ice cream) was amazing!
Shame on the queueing system but great food!
D. S.
Third time I've been to Padella and it didn't disappoint. The virtual queue makes it so easy now. My friend and I had 4 pastas because they were just so delicious. The 2 I recommend are the beef shin ragu and the dry chilli and garlic.
A. G.
Really delicious fresh pasta with a changing menu. For two people order three plates and it's perfect (will come to about £30 for the food).
T. T.
SO WORTH IT! My husband and I came here one evening for dinner. We arrived about 6:21pm and he put our name down, saying to come back at 7:45pm. They actually text you when it's ready. Luckily for us, our table was ready at 7:30 pm. Once we returned, we got seated downstairs near the bar. The bar seating was perfect because there was a guy making fresh pasta right in front of us! It was such a treat to see how the pasta was being made before coming to our plates.
In between the two of us, we ordered three plates of pasta, burrata to start, bread and two drinks. For pasta, we selected Cavatelli with broccoli, chili, garlic, anchovy, and pecorino, Fettuccine with violet artichokes, and Pappardelle with 8 hours dexter beef shin ragu. The Cavatelli was very flavorful with just enough spice. The Fettucine was so light and perfect as a starter pasta. The Pappardelle was in a great red sauce with meat cooked to perfection. The three pastas couldn't be more different!! We were so happy with our selection, diverse but all wonderfully delicious. Not to mention that heavenly burrata!!!
If you have a chance to go here, do it! I notice for lunch there is always a queue but for dinner I think they take your name and number then call you back when a table is ready. That's nice because then you can go do something while you wait.
Excellently locates by Borough Market and London Bridge. If you like Italian, flavorful food and high quality, go here!
W. L.
Arrived by myself at 3pm on Monday to avoid the infamous queue. There were quite a few empty seats scattered across the bar table but I was still asked to leave the premise and to join the queue outside where I was again, alone. After 5 minutes, I was seated and immediately ordered 3 pasta dishes all to myself:
Gnocchi - way overcooked but had intense flavour
Ravioli - quite refreshing but heavier than it tastes
Pappardelle - quite avg. in my opinion
Gnocchi, Ravioli, Pappardelle.
SERVICE - quick;
INGREDIENTS - fresh;
STAFF - not as passionate and friendly as everybody claimed but understandable given how busy the place is;
QUEUE management - need a LOT of improvement if you wish to keep up with the demand;
FOOD - not bad but not worth an avg 1 - 2 hour wait
PRICE - reasonable.
V.
I absolutely love this place! Food is exceptional and the prices are very reasonable for London! Highly recommend and have been back here multiple times.
R. T.
Amazing pasta, and worth the wait. We tried 5 dishes between two of us - pushed us a little over the edge but would do it again just so I could try all the different varieties and flavours. Fav was the pici lemon one!
M. W.
Best part of this place is sitting at the bar to see how they cook and prepare everything. It's a great show. And the result is delicious food. If you're not into waiting in line for food this is not the place for you.. it's quite busy. We waited in the rain, but good thing is there's the borough market where one of the people in your party can get coffee or other snacks while waiting. Definitely recommend the ragu pasta. Lovely flavours
C. H.
The wait is monumental. Got there at 5pm on a Thursday and got a table for 8.45pm.
But oh boy is it worth it
Fantastic fresh pasta cooked in front of you in the exposed kitchen island. Fantastic flavour combinations. Portions are good but you can definitely fit in a plate-and-a-half to maximise trying different pastas with groups. Best of all it's shockingly cheap for central London. Like 6-9 quid per plate of pasta cheap.
k. s.
Great food, tasty juices, and I especially like the colourful Dovers Street. Order your food to go and enjoy it outside on one of the street tables. Excellent service.
F. C.
Absolutely amazing!!! As I found it hard to find tasty food in London, I will however definitely recommend people come and taste the food here. Everything on the menu is worth trying. Yum!!!
G. C.
The food and the service are great. Price is affordable. But make sure you’re here early/before it opens to make sure you get a table... The queue is crazy!
J. L.
A very long wait, but was absolutely delicious. If you don't mind the queue, then I can highly recommend you visit here for lunch one day.
T. F.
Best pasta in london , you have to come early to queue, there is 1 to 2 hrs queue usually but it’s worth the wait !! I had the pasta with truffles and tortellini. A must try when your around the borough market.
D. P.
What an amazing dinner. We've never been to Padella because of the queue but used the app to join the queue from the office and couldn't believe we got a table, so cool! The Burrata was unreal, can't wait to come back.
M. S.
Well worth the 90 minutes we queued up! Food is amazing and service is great cannot fault it.
S.
Came for lunch. Queued for about 20-25mins? Service was fast and efficient.
Pasta was really fresh and nice. Beef shin ragu was great. Cacio Pepe was alright, personally am not a fan of the Super cheesy pasta type so that’s ok
P. S.
Food was amazing, but everyone knows that. The big shout is for Marcus who helped us work out some vegan options and was bloody ace. Thanks mate!
C. W.
Queue up for this! The pasta here is nice!
The seat is quite limited and you might need to sit at the bar if the restaurant is crowded.
K.
This pasta bar is literally a 30sec walk from London Bridge station right by Borough Market. I ordered the hand rolled pappardelle with beef shin ragu (£9) which was blow your mind, melt in your mouth delicious. Astonishing value for money in a city full of cowboy restaurants trying to swindle you out of your well earned cash. The wine on tap is cheap but not particularly enjoyable but you can BYOW for a corkage fee of £10. Win. Oh and you'll need to queue but it's worth it and I really REALLY hate queuing. It's not a place to linger, so you eat, smile with satisfaction, then move on.
N. D.
My ex-boss suggested me this place and I was unfortunate to not visit it during my last trip but this time I ensured to have a meal here and I'm so glad I did. Got sitting in 10mins(I was there around 1pm) and ordered my pasta. The food is super delicious and worth every penny. I'm surprised its so cheap but of course the price complements the portion. Worth it 100%
E. H.
Wonderful lunch service. The waitor at the door was absolutely lovely and recommend two dishes which were very delicious - a pici and a gnocchi dish. The texture of the freshly made pasta was fantastic and chewy. The tomato sauce whilst simple was very tangy and nice
M. B.
Magical Place in the market!! At first I wasn't sure if it worth waiting cause the line was long but I am happy I decided to wait. The pasta here is great and the vibe of the place is very interesting. I sat on the bar and looked at the bartender and waitress working so I guess it impacted my experience
J. L.
I’m amazed by how simple yet delicious their pasta are. Very reasonable price with great service. Totally worth the queue!
E. H.
What an amazing place! The sushi was fresh and the mochi was sooo good! Modest Japanese restaurant with friendly staff and great vibe.
J. V.
Nicest pasta I've had outside of Italy! The virtual queuing system meant we didn't need to loiter outside either!
S. C.
Definitely worth the queue!! One of the best italian restaurant in zone 1. Changes the menu so often that every visit will be a surprise to your taste buds.
N. M.
Outstanding pasta and appetisers. The wait can be intimidating but the line moves quickly. Super reasonable prices and great service too.
S. T.
Nice food and service!Ravioli of pumpkins & beef shin ragu are so good! Highly recommended!
P. T.
Love padella so much, but servers not wearing masks in such a small space is not okay. Mask up, please 😷🍝
S. L.
Be prepared to wait at least 1-2 hours for this. Portions are slightly on the small side but it is as good as everyone says. Freshly made pasta and gnocchi with simple yet satisfying sauces. Finish off with a chocolate tart!!
W. M.
Not much to say here. This is a great restaurant that comes highly recommended and it delivered on expectations. With a group of 3 we ordered all of the mains which we found to be a perfect amount of food. However, if you're there for lunch you can easily do a good sized meal for under £6.
Fresh pasta is excellent as expected and the dexter beef ragu was the standout for me. They do not take reservations so make sure you arrive early on the night. There are plenty of bars etc in the vicinity so you shouldn't find yourself short of ways to fill the time. We had to wait for just over an hour for our table.
If you're in Borough, or if you're not, then make sure you eat at Padella.
M. A.
Padella serves consistently good food. Which in an industry with high turnover, is impressive.
I appreciate that not only is my pasta hot and fresh, but so is the plate. Worth the line up.
M. C.
Although the queue is long, this is a must try. Everything on the menu is delicious. Order a few and share amongst friends so you get to try a larger variety. First visit was amazing, but second visit felt a little lacking
B. R. W.
Not worth queuing. Ate in the restaurant years ago but didn’t like it. As such a good reviews so I wanted to try again and it’s still not worth it. Just ok but not worth getting it.
N. Y.
Forever my favorite pasta spot in London! If you don’t get the cacio e Pepe there’s something wrong with you.
M. C.
Using the walk up app we managed to secure seats at padella. Sitting in the covid friendly bar stools and able to watch the chefs in action.
The menu changes regularly, I chose the ravioli with sage and ricotta with a portion of gnocchi with nutmeg butter. Both are cooked and served pretty quickly and covered with loads of parmesan. Simple and Extremely tasty
Service was great from being welcomed in to the order being taken. Will definitely go again next time I'm in London
L. A.
There’s a long wait for a table, even when queuing through the WalkIn app. There’s also a bit of a wait for food, given how busy the restaurant is. However - it is SO worth it. So so so so worth it. Some of the best pasta I have ever had! 😍 Service is great - attentive but still laidback.
W. L.
Absolutely incredible and well worth the wait. Great staff and the freshest pasta. Was cool to be watching the chef's.
J. D.
Best pasta I’ve ever had.. We still have Italy coming up on our honeymoon trip and I’m concerned that it will not match the amazing dinner we had here haha. Thanks for the great night.
A.
Very instagrammable place, this is how I came to know about it fortunately! I came with a group of friends and we were seated downstairs and we enjoyed great service and food. Only let down, was the portion sizes and the options for desert. Also, worth noting they include complimentary Sparkling water. Pasta is made fresh in-front of you and that preserves the quality.
E. M.
I ordered Burrata cheese and Peci Cacio & Pepe. Both are lovely and cheap! I would like to thank specially the lovely Italian waitress with superb service! I know Burrata cheese goes well with sourdough bread but I was just table for one and a whole bread basket would be too much food for me. Luckily that lovely lady showed her flexibility and snatched a couple of bread for me so that I could enjoy the cheese without the worry of wasting food. Thank you so much and I had a lovely time at Padella. Will definitely recommend it to my friends!
J. S.
I went here for a birthday meal with my friend - we had the burrata to start with, with some sourdough bread and olive oil, a very pleasant starter. For our main, we both had the Dorset Crab tagliarini with chilli and lemon, which was delicious, lovely and fresh.
Good value, tasty food, quick service, and friendly staff - overall a very enjoyable experience! I was particularly fond of the queueing system, which was through an app, rather than having to queue in person outside the restaurant. Went to a nice pub over the road as we waited.
D. T.
We can always rely on Padella for quality pasta at very affordable prices! So many favourites to choose from, including the tagliarini with dry chilli, cacio pepe, and ravioli. We have also tried their Padella at home kits and were able to almost replicate the experience of fresh made pasta! Bring more friends so you can share, we once ordered every pasta on the menu for 4 of us!
A. R.
Awesome place, all the staff were friendly and polite, open kitchen is great to watch. Food was delicious and quick, the brand of
Diet Cola they use is the best cola I’ve ever tried. Everything very fresh and made in-house, will come back for sure!
A. C.
Possibly up there as one of the best pasta in London. I'd recommend turning up around 20/30 minutes before opening to prevent having to wait around for 1-2 hours.
The dishes may be ridiculously cheap for the quality but the portion sizes are miniscule. Therefore, I'd advice order two/three dishes per person depending on how hungry you are. Service is very quick, friendly and professional.
If you have the time to wait around/queue then this is a must visit around Borough Market
S. G.
There always seems to be a line outside this restaurant and wait time could be 2 hours or more. They don't take reservations either. So, the food must be Good, right? Yes it is.
The food portion are small so order a bunch of things and share with a friend.
S. w. C.
Can I just start with the INCREDIBLLY PASSIONATE SERVICE. I mean true Italian staff serving true Italian pasta with genuine love for serving and each other. What a wonderful environment!
The restaurant is one of those unexpected gems. Looks substandard from the outside but that's because the true passion, the effort, the love goes into the actual food!
My companion and I asked the server which pasta dishes to choose from. He recommended the top 3 of the public and how 3 would be ideal to share between 2 people. Not wrong.
I highly recommend the beef shin ragu ! My fave!
We ended with the Loquat and almond tart! Serious dessert. Nothing short of a 10/10. Perfectly crisp on the outside and inside lovingly soft. Sweet but cut well with the creme on the side!
No wonder people queue for hours for a table. Absolutely worth the 2 hour wait for us. We will be back !
Thank you Padella. You made our night just perfect!
C. D.
Came here at around 9:30PM after seeing a huge lineup from earlier. We’re from overseas so we aren’t too familiar with the food in this area, but WOW the line didn’t lie! The pasta noodles were so good and the portions were small but filling. We tried the pear spritz (100% recommend), pappardalle with beef ragu, pici with garlic and lemon sauce, and the cherry and almond tart for dessert. EVERYTHING was amazing, service included. Definitely come here if you get a chance!
S. M.
It took a long wait to get to this place and it was well worth the wait! The Pici cacio & pepe was delicious!!! And the chocolate tart as well, literally melted in my mouth. We loved the ambience and atmosphere of the place. Definitely worth the hype!
J. H.
Best past experience so far!
Worth to wait.
Always go for recommended dish!
Since portion is small, order 1 more extra!
I also recommend dessert-tart,pies, but salted caramel ice cream wasn't my type of dessert.
P. N.
Good basic pasta spot. Given how hard to get a table I expected more flavor but it was enjoyable. Also some more veg options as well would add a star.
O.
Great pasta at a reasonable price. Need to go back for more !
金.
Although waited for nearly 3 hours (about 6:15 to 21:10) for our turn, glad we only waited about 15-20 minutes in line to book a place (you'll receive a message whenever your place is ready, which means you can walk around and come back later). The ingredients look simple, but worth to try out if you visit London.
D. P.
Fantastic food experience, the restaurant is small and cosy with a completely open kitchen. Expect phenomenal fresh pasta dishes at a great price. Best option is to go early, queue to put your name down, then head out for a drink and wait for the restaurant to text you when the table is ready.
K. T.
Beautiful hand made pasta. Good value. Worth waiting in line, which would often go around two corners!
M. P.
The best pasta in town, reasonable prices, and fantastic service.
Veronica, our waitress was lovely and super friendly. We had a great dinner and time there. Definitely worth the wait!
J. A.
Incredible food. Well worth the wait. Everything about the restaurant is fantastic. New favourite restaurant in London.
D. Y. F.
Always need to queue for this place but it's worth it. Pasta is amazing here and at a very reasonable price.
T. B.
Probably the best pasta I’ve tasted till now
Sauce was amazing ,pasta was perfect
If you’re in the area go check this place out ,is worth the wait
Enjoy
J. P.
Fantastic food and reasonable prices, if you don’t mind waiting in the queue.
A. K.
10/10
My friend and I ordered a dish which was not halal by mistake and only realised when we had finished 3/4 of our plates.
We stopped eating and the staff asked why. We explained and said how it was entirely our own mistake.
They then made us a different dish instead and only charged us for one.
It's things like this (along with incredible food) that make a business 5-star.
Very very impressed and happy and I would recommend Padella to anyone.
G. L.
The best Italian in London: you can't beat the quality, the price, efficient service, and variety. It's the one Italian I always recommend and where no one has been disappointed.
F. K.
Good properly made pasta, but portion is pretty small. Would come back again if there is no queue
X. Z.
Very good pasta, 2 dishes per person is enough. Good to consider adding new dishes in the menu?
L. C.
Omggg best Italian food I have ever tasted around the world! Super worth the hype. Get the pepper pasta, it is just amazing! Now you can do a mini queue (around 20 min) and they put down ur phone and give you an approximate time for your table.
Food is just unbelievable and price wise is super cheap for the food you get. We paid around 25£ with starters and wine. We shared plates which allowed us to try different things.
L. W.
Not gonna lie, the hype is worth it. 4 dishes, fresh pasta, legit flavours. sourdough bread and olive oil on point. service was great. free still & sparkling water too? All for just over £40. Cosy and intimate, but not too cramped. Hit all the right spots. One of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time
A. C.
Delicious freshly-made pasta, good vibe, good value. What's more to say? Only downside is the queue, but don't turn up at a peak time and it moves quickly!
X. W. T.
Amazing. The hype is worth the wait. They've got a great SMS system for busy times and have reliable time estimates. Don't miss out on this - I got the parpadelle with bef shin ragu and was DELICIOUS!
N. M.
Simply exquisite. It was entirely worth the 3 hour queue (via WalkIn app). Without doubt the best pasta I have tried in the UK.
D. W.
Trendy atmosphere, excellent pasta (fresh and well made) and surprisingly affordable prices. I highly recommend for my fellow pasta eaters.
L. H.
Pasta heaven! Must try if you love pasta. Amazing food and great customer service
K. B.
Perfect place, I'd feel better if they weren't cutting bread with bare unwashed hands by the waiter. I guess it happens everywhere
J.
Great pasta. Great Price.
They make fresh pasta in front of you. Three dishes between two is enough.
We had a burrata for starter which melts in your mouth.
For mains I had the pappardelle with fennel sausage, which was delicious considering I am not a fan of fennel. Also has the stracia with gorgonzola caramelised red onion which was very tasty. Finally we had the tagliolini with breadcrumbs, garlic and chilli. This is a variation of a traditional dish from our home town near Sicily which was not as expected. This was very oily, tasteless and friends. The textures did not work together however overall the service was great and the other dishes were very good. I would suggest going after the first service around 6 because before 5pm (opening time) there are already large queues. Definitely worth going to.
Price per dish: £5-9
Atmosphere: 5/5
Service: 4/5
C.
What a great place!! Very hard to get into sadly, but lovely pasta joint. Cheap dishes, amazing pasta, lovely vibe, I really recommend you take the time to visit!
M. D. s.
This place it's OK, well if you compare the waiting time + quantity + flavor + price, I don't think I will coming back, don't get me wrong, the food is good but is a small starter plates menu, you need at least two to feel OK.
G. B.
Ordered a kit from the online shop and was looking forward to it so much but it was inedible/ salty. Padella sorted this straight away and we made it again today and it was just as it use to be in the restaurant. Personally, I would recommend adding 1 not 2 ladles of salted water to the sauce and maybe add according to taste. But thoroughly enjoyable and good portion size too.
E. C.
A great dining experience even in COVID times! We arrived at 4:45 right before they opened to get our name on the waiting app. We went to the pub across the street for a drink then at down right at 5. The dining room was spaced out nicely.
The food was fantastic at a great price! The olive oil is nice and spicy and the burrata was super creamy. He got the beef shin ragu and it was awesome. My ravioli was good, but it wasn't as flavorful as the ragu, go figure! The salted caramel tart was really nice. It was slightly salted and just rich enough. We should have gotten two! Overall we will be back!
J. G.
First time trying Padella and it was very tasty. I knew the portion size would be small but come on.... for £6.50.
S.
Quality and fresh pasta, quality service, clean area! However waiting times are a bit too much, but what can they do? Its just that good!
M. S.
Amazing Italian fast-food/restaurant split in 2 floors!! I have been there with my girlfriend and we have order a burrata like starter, 2 plates of pasta (pici cacio and pepe, tagliarini with parmesan and oil) and 2 lemonade... all the food was so amazing!! We have done a queue for to entry but have been really fast... I'm Italian and I have ate the best cacio and pepe in London!! You have to go!!
L. C.
We stopped for a quick lunch on a Saturday, I had never been here before and I was really pleasantly surprised. The idea is excellent, small range of great ingredients and fresh pasta rather than a big potentially mediocre menu. Low prices and fast service, clearly it cannot be compared to Italy but it's probably the closest you can get to in London.
J. S.
Food is awesome! I'm not even a pasta person. Portions are small and you need to wait in line for a long time
C. L.
Amazing price for London and quality of pasta is very high! Would recommend without a doubt
A. A.
Great food, really delicious flavours of pasta and friendly staff. I’d recommend getting the burrata cheese entree as it’s amazing!
Reasonably priced too and nice atmosphere too.
T. B.
The Pici cacio & pepe was incredible, everything else was a let down. I think we queued for longer than we were in the restaurant. Doesn’t live up to the hype (the pasta shop in borough market is much better in my opinion)
N. S. S.
One of the best Pappardelle pasta in town! Long queue always, patience needed!
C. W. J.
Authentic hand made Italian pasta. you can't go wrong with tomato paste sauce!
J. W.
The pasta was exquisite, especially the super thin spaghetti 🍝 My daughter was in absolute heaven! Just wish we could have stayed longer.
J. N.
Great price. Great food. Added a photo of the updated menu on 25 Sep 2021.
A. d. F.
After a terrible experience in Shoreditch, the staff contacted me to make it up and wow they did it!
We have chosen the shop in Borough Market this time and received a really kind, nice and excellent service. It goes without saying, but food was amazing too.
Portions are small but not smaller than other pasta places in Central London, even if Padella has reasonable prices in comparisson with the rest.
Thank you Gavin for making us change our mind and a big thank you and congratulations for the team in Borough Market, you can tell how hard they are working with the shop being so busy and the high temperature inside. The staff is always finding the way of managing a smile and being kind with every customer.
A. B.
Amazing restaurant. Even with only outdoor dining still absolutely fabulous. The staff are incredible; efficient and so friendly. The food is the best pasta in London and so reasonably priced.
f.
Very yummy - shame the space is so small and means q is huge otherwise id be there every week 🙈🙈 best burrata ive ever had
Super good value
V. S.
Wonderful service and the most amazing pasta I've ever had. Also shout out to Aperol Spritz with rosé. Fabulous food and lovely evening, thank you Padella! ♥️
J. V.
Amazing pasta, you should definitely try it!
Loosing a star due to the portion size. Too small for an adult. Left the place hungry.
S. C.
Absolutely fabulous food, my partner actually ordered his main course again as he didn't want his food to end....excellent value for money and for us the best pasta we have eaten 😋
K. B.
Waited to go here for a long time. Mainly because of the daunting, and frustrating, queuing situation. This day we by the bullet and queued for about 1 hour (which I’m loathe to do).
It was worth the wait as the pasta was, as is to be expected from the reputation, delicious.
The most delicious and surprising dish was the Pici with marjoram, golden garlic & lemon. Wow. Simply Devine.
Go!
N. S.
I’ve been here twice now and the food is fantastic! Fresh pasta, with an ever changing menu (but still some classics), and a great atmosphere, what’s not to love. Well the queuing but it seems that’s the annoying fashion in London. Food is worth it though
F. C.
Best pasta in London - thoroughly enjoyed the Cacio de Pepe. Expect a line out the door, but worth the wait.
A. S.
Won't ruin it, this is a really good pasta. Probably one of the best. And if you sit downstairs, you even get to see how it's being made.
D. H.
Wonderful pasta experience. Thank you for this amazing meal from the hostess to the chef to the dishwasher you can really see the work being done right in front of you. Well deserved 5 stars.
C.
Genuinely the best pasta in London. Be sure to go early and reserve your table in the waiting list though (e.g. we were a table of 2, got to the line for 5:45 and got a table for 7:45)
A. Y.
Brilliant pasta! Always a long queue since the shop can only fit/serve a certain number of customers at one time. But definitely worth queuing for it!
N. H.
If you are out and about near London Bridge and the Borough Market looking for freshly baked scrumptious pasta, then this is definitely the place! The pasta is simply amazing and value for price. Don’t be shocked by the long waiting queue (in normal times!)
K. M.
Ordered Signature eight-hour beef shin ragu 🍝 from Padella 🍴 Sauce was lovely and slow cooked beef was succulent 😋 The only downside is that the portion is way too little and I need at least 5 of these to fill me up 😖 and this is why I went there for my 2nd dinner of the evening 😂
