I had a few issues in recent months with this establishment. Having used the place for many years I was disappointed with some.of the dishes I and my partner often enjoyed and became accustomed to. I am happy to say that in these last few weeks I have enjoyed the food here immensely. One thing I could never fault with this eaterie are the staff. They have always been very attentive, polite and professional. In view of this I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Raj of India to any existing or future customers..Although my previous reviews were negative and caused ill feeling between the owners and myself, meaning I may not eat here as often as I did, don't let that put you off..The food and service here is top notch.

Ordered delivery from here for the first time, very impressed and will be coming back! Peshwari naan is gorgeous, nice zing off all the curry, tender meat and delicious fresh vegetables. Delivery was swift (25 minutes on a Saturday night) and overall really impressed with value for money. Nice local business, look forward to ordering again soon :)

Had the pleasure of visiting here for a meal while in London, I have to say the food was excellent, when I received only 1 poppadom I was worried, but was left completely satisfied after 2 onion bhajis and a main course. I went for something new archi it was called so immense the flavours really blew me away... Also there was a dip, some kind of cous cous tikka thing, well... It was freekin amazing! 👍😀

My first time eating from this restaurant. I say from because this was a delivery direct from the restaurant. I ordered my go to test meal. (CTM )Chicken Tikka Masala ( med spice ) buttered Naan and white rice. It was delivered to my hotel in less than the stated time of one hour and was still hot. The favors of the spices in the Masala were perfect rich, creamy and the heat was just right. The chicken was a little sparse, I would guess a 1/4 to a 1/3 of a breast and one piece was very fatty so that was a bit disappointing. The naan was wee bit soggy in the wrapper but still very eatable once open to the room air. The rice was very good and a large portion. All in for under 20 pounds a good meal and a good deal. I will eat there again.

Great, cheap home made Indian food. I went on a Sunday morning, which is when they have their buffet, so I can't comment on serving sizes. However there were plenty of options and everything I tried (about six different items) was very tasty. Also, the price is unbeatable at only ten pounds. The staff were friendly and very attentive, warning me when a couple dishes that had run out were replenished. The atmosphere was quiet at the time I went (around 2.30, so maybe a bit late for lunch in England), which I didn't mind at all. If it had been open for lunch on Moni would have gone again before catching my flight in the afternoon.

I try and come here regularly as in my opinion this is one of the best Indian restaurants in West London. The food is very very good and the staff are kind and prompt. I would highly recommend their Sunday buffet option as they offer a high quality meal and a desert for under £20. The buffet also allows you to eat to your content so it is well worth the price. Large groups are easily accommodated but I would recommend booking as on Friday and Saturday nights it gets busy; especially if the football is on.

Decor is that of a traditional Indian takeaway. Service was very good. I went to the toilet and was surprised about how clean it was. I could immediately smell bleach and disinfectant when I entered. Even under the toilet seat was spotless. As soon as I saw how clean the toilet was I knew the standard of the kitchen. Everything that came out was really clean. Walking past one day and observed that this restaurant is decked out in some of the oddest, most incongruous architecture in London. Unwittingly booked in for dinner a few nights later and it was very, very good. Service polite and respectful. Well paced tasty meals. Enjoyable evening.

Been here a few times, as they do good Curries, last time I was there I tried their Balti Tikka Chicken Curry (The Balti way is cooked a bit different to the normal Tikka Curry, give it a go) Shame they don't have Cobra zero, so I had fruit juice, why do we have to wait so long for the bill? I have lost count the amount of times I have paid for the meal and then I am out of there, some restaurants would make more money if the Minimum Spend was lower!

Fortunate to have given this place a try during a brief stop in Hammersmith. Fantastic food, some of the best Indian cuisine I have eaten in the country (and I've eaten a lot of Indian across the country). The service was exceptional and attentive. The meal offer is very good value as well, with the staff more than happy to help you share the dishes around so everybody can enjoy more tastes. I definitely recommend.

The food was tasty, the portions were generous and good value for money. Reasons why it gets only 3 stars, was the odd behavior from the staff. Don't get me wrong, one was very lively and welcoming the other however clearly had had enough; disinterested and cheerless. What was most strange was that after we'd had finished our main and had declined the offer of dessert, the waiter comes back and drops the bill on our table. OK fare enough, but then moments later comes over again with card machine and asks "how would we like to pay". Had to tell him can you give us 5-10 minutes. The restaurant experience is not over just because we've eaten. It had been no more than 15 minutes after the mains were taken away. It was bizarre, just myself and my mum, we weren't being loud rude or offensive, the place was not busy, and it was only 8:15PM, you can clearly see we're deep in conversation, why are you rushing us? Perhaps because we had declined dessert they assumed we'd want to vacate sooner rather than later, so best to anticipate our next request before hand. Or perhaps they knew they weren't getting any more money out of us so best shift us along. Not sure if they reckon they're being efficient, but it just comes off as rude, and we felt unwelcome, our conversation went a bit sour after that and we felt like they wanted us to move along. I won't be eating here again. P.S they add service charge to your bill... which is fine, but there is no note/message on the menus that say they'll include this.

Simply one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to! I came back after a previous excellent experience a couple of years ago. Have read mixed reviews on this place, but glad I went and tried it myself. Ordered the butter chicken and was honestly some of the best I’ve had. Portions were very generous and great value for money. Definitely worth the visit.

Wish we had discovered this place sooner! The food is definitely underated. We live locally and always walk past this place thinking nothing much of it. But recently decided to try it out after I had a craving for some biryani. There was a bit of a wait before food arrived, but as soon as it did, we realised it was all worth it. Everything was flavourfull, portions were generous and service attentive. The setting is also relaxed, comfortable and clean. A few people would probably rate this place as being a little 'old fashioned' on the surface, similar to many Indian restaurants dating back to the 80s and 90s, because of the layered white table cloths, thick red carpet and waiters dressed in waistcoats, especially given that there are now so many new 'hipper' places serving Indian street food. But at the end of the day the food itself is what gets my vote, and this place definitely does.

This is a meat based restaurant which i went to many years before going vegan.They do not cater to vegans, on the surface which they need to improve, but actually there are accidentally vegan options, like the veg samosas, cauliflower bhaji and balti, vegetable bhuna. For main course I had vegetable jalfrezi which was really nice, just be sure to ask they use no ghee and instead vegetable oil. Oh and ask for the plain rice, not pilau which isnt vegan. Also you can have poppadoms and roti instead of naan bread. I recommend this restaurant and the staff are very helpful to make sure all of our food was cruelty free

(Translated) First of all: In the Raj of India you get excellent authentic Indian food. It was one of those visits that was made on a whim, hardly planned and little researched. I had previously only found the address via the Google Maps area search and because it was close we could get ourselves started at all - we were not disappointed. The place is very clean and the ambience is elevated, even if it seems to be getting a bit old. But it makes a welcome impression, even at the beginning. We were greeted warmly at the entrance and directed to a table. It was also very gratifying that the owner also joined us at the table, which made the reception even more welcoming. I was impressed. When I saw the fresh Kingfisher beer from the long glasses, freshly tapped, I did not want to get up any longer and to make the evening a little longer. We chose Korma and Co. and were very competently looked after in the selection. Mild is not equally mild for an Indian or German palate. What particularly impressed me was the fresh Naan bread. It is freshly baked and tastes wonderful in combination with the sauces and "stews". Overall, the food was excellent and nothing to complain about. The presentation was also first class. Some dishes come in cast iron pots and heat for almost half an hour, very good. I can fully recommend the restaurant and would do the same with my friends. The quality was very good and in general the experience in the evening as well. For an undisturbed stay, however, I would make sure that you get a reservation. We were there early on a Friday night and saw a lot of customer traffic. Possibly. At a later hour, finding a place could be problematic. However, the place is big enough, which should keep the risk very small. Missing the food because of something like that would only be annoying. So far my best experience in Indian food ever, after two years here in London and various other restaurants all over Europe. Die Adresse hatte ich vorher nur über die Google Maps Umkreissuche gefunden und weil es nahe dran war konnten wir uns aufraffen überhaupt loszugehen - wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Das Lokal ist sehr sauber und das Ambiente wird gehoben, auch wenn es etwas in die Tage gekommen zu sein scheint. Es macht aber, auch zu Beginn, einen willkommenden Eindruck. Wir wurden schon am Eingang freundlich empfangen und an einen Tisch geleitet. Erfreulich war auch sehr, dass sich direkt auch der Besitzer zu uns an den Tisch gesellte was den Empfang noch etwas willkommen heißender gestaltete. Ich war direkt angetan. Als ich dann das frische Kingfisher Bier aus den Langen Gläsern, frisch gezapft, sah, wollte ich gar nicht mehr aufstehen und den Abend direkt etwas länger gestalten. Wir haben und für Korma und Co. entschieden und wurden bei der Auswahl auch sehr kompetent betreut. Mild ist nämlich nicht gleich mild für einen indischen bzw. deutschen Gaumen. Was mich besonders positiv beeindruckt hat war das frische Naan Brot. Es wird frisch gebacken und schmeckt, in Verbindung mit den Saußen und "Eintöpfen" einfach nur wunderbar. Insgesamt war das Essen vorzüglich und nicht zu beanstanden. Auch die Präsentation war erste Klasse. Einige Gerichte kommen in gusseisernen Töpfchen und heizen noch fast eine halbe Stunde nach, sehr gut. Ich kann das Restaurant uneingeschränkt empfehlen und würde dies auch bei meinen Freunden tun. Die Qualität war sehr gut und allgemein die Erfahrung am Abend ebenso. Für einen ungestörten Aufenthalt würde ich jedoch schauen, dass man eine Reservierung bekommt. Wir waren an einem Freitag zum frühen Abend dort und konnten einen regen Kundenverkehr beobachten. Evtl. könnte es, zu einer etwas späteren Stunde, problematisch mit der Platzfindung werden. Das Lokal ist jedoch ausreichend groß, was das Risiko sehr klein halten sollte. Das Essen dann wegen soetwas zu verpassen wäre nur ärgerlich. Bisher meine beste Erfahrung in Sachen indisches Essen überhaupt und das nach zwei Jahren Aufenthalt hier in London und diversen anderen Restaurants in ganz Europa.
