Reviews of Rajput

A hidden gem, offering good food, at reasonable prices. £50 for 3 adults for dinner including soft drinks. Large menu with plenty of dishes to choose from. The manager is a really nice chap, keen to look after you. They don't serve alcohol, but allow you to bring your own or use the off licence next door.

We have been coming here for the last 20 years and we would drive from Chelsea just to eat at this family ran restaurant. The taste is authentic as the food is made when ordered hence the slight long wait time. Not the typical Indian restaurant where food is made in advance. Well worth it and when they get busy I would pre-order for a take out. All members of the staff are friendly and on first name basis. Well worth the effort to eat here !

I have never ever been disappointed!! Raj Put is our absolute go-to!! The fact you can bring your own bottle is amazing! Especially with majestic across the road! We’ve eaten in and got take aways so many times and they’ve been insanely good every single time! I’ll never go anywhere else again.

Delicious classic Indian food prepared to requirements and served with a friendly smile!
Found the two chilli heat rating quite mild so if you like it hot hot don't be afraid to ask for the extra kick! Naans were perfect crispy one side and fluffy on top stuffed to perfection. Plus the prawn Puri starter is JUST like my nan use to make -i will definitely be back very soon! Thank you for welcoming us.

We went to Rajput as a group of 20 for a work colleagues leaving do. The food was absolutely delicious, service was also fantastic. Food arrived on time with the right amount of spice. Its a private business and we wanted to support local rather than the big food chains.

Usually a delicious takeaway, hot and tasty but tonight it took a long time to arrive and it wasn’t so hot, maybe warm and also not very tasty. It seems as if they forgot my order and quickly put it together.
Very disappointed tonight.

As reliably good as when it was my local in 1985-2000. I still like to return every year or so, even though it is well out of my way. Good food nice service.

Since our regular or 10 years - Chilies of Brackenbury - has sadly tanked of late, we have been auditioning other indian restaurants in the area. After our first tryout with Rajput, we may well settle here. Food was exceptional and only surpassed by the level of service. It was running late but - for the first time in my delivery curry experience - the restaurant called me to apologise, before I had a chance to chase. Even with the need for old-school ordering by phone, we will definately be eating from here again. And looking forward to eating in as well!

Outstanding Indian. It's BYO and the food is 10/10. We eat in.

The food here is consistently excellent. I do have a major gripe: it is the slowest Indian takeaway service in West London - regularly well over 1hr 30 mins to get it delivered. That said, it doesn't stop us going back again and again.
M. L.
A wounderful chance to experience the kind of service usually associated with very high end hotels or committed to by- gone days. The food sits in a tradition established in the 1970's. I say this affectionately and with respect. If you choose to look deeper into the menu there are some real authentic gems. The prices are very reasonable too with the option of BYO with no corkage charge.
Give this delightful family restaurant a try. You won't be disappointed.

Attention to detail. Dishes cooked to customers requirements. Nice balance of spices to each dish provides an authentic flavour. Have eaten in Michelin star restaurants but always return to Rajput for its outstanding food and amiable service .
F. G.
We had a takeaway for four people and it was delicious. Everything we ordered was hot and tasty

Amazing place to have dinner and you can bring your own bottle of wine 🍷

Recently discovered after being introduced to this restaurant by some of my friends who are also local to their area who have also commented of being loyal, longstanding and regular customers for almost a decade.
Whilst I was treated to their food one evening on a special occasion for a big celebratory event as a foodie treat, I must admit it was one of the best Indian food I've had in years as often times they've fared quite mediocre and average at best from my past experiences! I can see why this family-ran formula and success has been working so well and look forward to coming back again in the near future.

The family has been coming here for 30 years and the food is always good. Friendly faces eating there and friendly faces serving there.
E. R.
Absolutely brilliant restaurant. My wife and I come regularly and always have a great quality and enjoyable meal. We used to live nearby and have since moved away, but we still come back to Rajput for a fantastic dinner out.
What’s more, my wife usually orders a special dish that’s not even on the menu and they are always more than happy to prepare it for her!
Rajput always go the extra mile to give us a great restaurant experience.
It’s super affordable too!
M. S.
Lovely food. Bring Your Own Drink policy is great too. Can get busy in the evening as its popular. Drop in and be seated. It would be good to call ahead if you have a group of people for dinner
S. T.
The best of the most delicious Indian food, not in many places in London will you find such authentic Indian taste and better than the food are the people, so helpful, friendly and accommodative..Cheers to Rabani and his colleagues 👍
M. L.
Excellent Indian cuisine in friendly, popular local restaurant which also does great takeaway food. No drinks licence so BYO.
G. B.
Excellent Service!
Always welcoming and so well mannered!
Proper table linen including napkins.
Consistently delicious food at very reasonable prices!
Do go and try for yourselves!

Friendly staff and good food. Would recommend

Very good food, friendly service and clean place. Everyone in my group commented on how good it was, and then we were all surprised how low the bill was, although part of that might have been down to their "bring your own drink" policy. We weren't aware of that, but it was no problem because there is an off license very close by.
M. B.
Delicious Indian food!! Amazing flavours and lovely atmosphere. I recommend the lamb rogan josh and tarka dall (with extra garlic). My family have been going here for 20+ years and still love it :)
A. B.
Best Indian restaurant. The food is always on point and the staff are great. Have been eating at the Rajput for 20 years and have never had a bad experience. I like that they keep it old school and work hard to retain their local punters. I don’t understand why people bother to leave negative reviews about the service, maybe people are too sensitive these days. I haven’t seen any reviews stating that the food was bad, so that’s all you need to know imo.

A quick stop after London Wine Fair... Stop to collect some Rose wine and a curry. Found this place by chance, great staff and fabulous food. Starters very tasty and not greasy; chef was able to tailor the heat to our requst.
Top grub.
P. K.
Nice atmosphere. Delicious food. Very good service. My dining companion wanted one of the dishes customised but the chef told the waiter that what she wanted would spoil the true taste of the dish. Recommended.
J. C.
Lovely food all cooked to perfection excellent service nice friendly people and very affordable prices I really enjoyed it
A. B.
I've been coming here for years and I've never been disappointed by the food or the service. The staff is friendly and always make you feel great. The decor is beautiful and looks so good. Definitely recommend it to all Indian food lovers.
A. B.
First of all its 5/5 for hygiene which is important when choosing a place to eat. my friend told me to check this place because he's been coming here since he was 6 with his parents. So I had to give it a try. I must say I was very impressed and now when ever I come down from Oxford i come to this restaurant. Good customer service as well. Beats Westfields any day
m. e. N.
Good food and I don't think is expensive. Not insisting on taking more food that you can eat what is a relieve.
N. I.
Great service and food. Happy to alter the menu to suit your taste too. Second visit one week and just as good as the first! Looking forward to the third!
D. S.
Lovely food. We have been going here for years (apart from this year, where we've had several takeaways from them when possible).
A. J.
Amazing place to eat, book in advance as it does get busy on weekends and you can bring your own alcohol as they dont sell it there plus Off Licence is next door so not much walking. Food exceptional and staff are so lovely and amazing with kids. Love it.
R.
Excellent food and a nice cosy atmosphere. The food is the main delight, albeit the service is nice and old school. I have worked for Westminster City Council in the Environmental services, so I know a good thing when I taste it ...
T.
I have been eating here regularly for over 30 years, since not long after they first opened. I have never had a bad meal or bad service, the food is always of good quality, well prepared and nicely presented. Highly recommend.
C. C.
I have been ordering food and eating in from this restaurant for the past 14 years. They have been consistent in the quality of their food from the get go.
I cannot recommend the food enough, its fresh, well seasoned - my favourites are the Korma (lamb and chicken, Butter chicken, Lamb biryani and all the naan bread (peshwari naan and keema naan especially).
I always collect so cannot comment on home delivery, on collection my food has always been piping hot and delicious. On all the occasions I have eaten in, the service has been impeccable - the staff are polite and friendly.
To the owners and staff at Rajput, please continue to do such a great job, you are by far the best 'local' Indian restaurant in the area (and everyone I know and have introduced to your food has always thought it tasted amazing).
q. (.
Eat here every time i visit London. The staff are friendly and polite. The food is cooked fresh so takes that bit longer but is lovely when it arrives. Also cater for vegetarians.
S. M. S.
I was surprised to read that other people have found the food here disappointing. We regularly order Take Away from Rajput and it is always really delicious. In particular the spicy lamb dish gosht kalia is amazing. However most dishes are of a high quality for a take-away.
We have never eaten in as the restaurant itself does not feel very inviting however I would highly recommend the food.
A. G.
We've been to the indian for the last 2 years and I must say the food is generally of fairly high quality. We've always received courteous service and friendly attitude. I usually go for Tandoori which I think they know how to do very well.
Trust the prizes they received on their doors, not the negative comments on this page.
J. P.
Excellent butter chicken massala and bhuna, chicken so tender and melted in the mouth. An hour wait but well worth it and at £19 for two this is a bargain.
D. M.
Clean, subtle decor, attentive staff and excellent food at a good price. All you want really.
They aren't licensed but charge no corkage etc and an off licence is 2 doors down.
j. h.
Had outstanding food and service here. The hariyali chicken was literally the best that I have had. Also noteworthy was the lamb bhuna and butter chicken. will definitely go back.
R. D.
Amazing value for money.
J. H.
Great takeaway - very middle of the road curry menu but sometimes that is what we feel like - and we love Rajput for a simple takeaway! Big discount (10% off?) if you collect.
M. M.
Excellent food (had the everything platter) and great service. Very friendly owners. Will definitely return to try other dishes.
R. K.
Friendly staff. Good bog standard curry. Portions are good sized. They do have options for tipping when provided a credit card machine.
V. N.
Very good food, service was commendable. They let you bring your own alcohol and bill you only for the food which is a welcome feel in London 😊
S. B.
We have made this our regular Saturday night food and watering hole. And not just because it is around the corner. The food is yummie, the service is attentive and the prices are incredibly affordable for the location and quality.
G. V.
Consistently good food, freshly cooked and enjoyed in a nice atmosphere with friendly and efficient service at great value prices- you can bring your own drinks too- a true She Bu gem!
C. T.
I constantly come by buying some food in this spot. I enjoyed the swift service and well made food. 5 stars from me.
K. B.
Food is of the highest quality. Went twice, and the first time, the service was flawless. The owner must have been having a bad day on the second time, though.
I. M.
Best Indian restaurant in west london. And bring your own booze allowed! Excellent

with curries prepared more to Western taste
5 mins walk from Goldhawk Road Underground
Station on the Circle, Hammersmith n City Line
Y. J.
Friendly staff. Nice food. I've experienced long wait times in the past for takeaway options
M. L.
Delicious. If you are two people get the meat and veg thali so you can try it all! Taste and value are exceptional.

Excellent food at reasonable prices. Under £30 for two courses for 2 people, including sides. Bring your own bottle. Try sharing the Gosht Kalia lamb and Chicken Jalfrezi for pairing that’s all warm-glow spicy flavour heat and no burn. Cosy restaurant so book ahead to avoid disappointment.
