Reviews of Reindeer Cafe
P. S.
I had fish congee with fried wontons for lunch. My drink was hot Ovaltine. The lady who served us was friendly and lovely. The food was also enjoyable. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here but certainly would eat there again if I’m in the neighbourhood. Good for families and couples.
P. J.
The place to be when you craves for Hong Kong cuisine. Expect to wait in line a little especially if you come during lunch hours. The food is authentic and generous portion. Love the place very much.
H. W.
Quality, Authentic Hong Kong cuisine in reasonable price with extraordinary service not usually found in cafe/diner.
C. E.
They served a great variety of Hongkong styles dishes. From soup noodle to Baked rice, there are loads of food you could choose from. They are in a fair price and they are tasty. Won Ton noodle with cold HK milk tea, what a unbeatable combo when I was in HK. If you miss HK, you should definitely come and try mate
L. K.
Typical Hong Kong style cafe, extensive menu. They also do Chinese style bakery. Food is good enough and reasonable. Ideal for a quick meal on your own. Just don’t expect service because service does not come with a Hong Kong style cafe.
Food 7/10, service 6/10, ambience 6/10, value for money 7/10.

Me and my family always dine at this cafe after we finished shopping. We live near Heathrow and the trip to just get there and eat the food is so worth. I can not express how AMAZING the food is at this place. They are by far the best chinese restaurant/cafe I have ever been to. The 3piece meat and rice is excellent and huge portion same with the sweet and sour pork which is so filling! Forever will love this chinese restaurant just wish they were nearer :(
S. D.
Yummy authentic Chinese food. It's made to order in the same kitchen as the restaurant next door but it's quicker and less of a restaurant, more of a quick meal type of place. Loads of things you wouldn't find in an English Chinese takeaway. Oh yes, they do take away too. And have a Chinese bread shop too. Very busy usually and full of the Local community so it must be good. Try it. You'll love it.
M. M.
Delicious food, one of the best Chinese restaurant in the area. Very authentic Hong Kong style cafe. Highly recommend their sweet and sour pork and their roasted meat. Reasonably priced. Will definitely come back soon.
W. L.
Good food. But the menu and bakery is getting expensive
K. G.
Reindeer Cafe (more of a noodle bar type place), next door to the dim sum restaurant Wing Tai, is cheaper food with larger portions - each main course is enough for 1.5 to 2 meals if you order noodle dishes or rice dishes. Good wholesome Cantonese Hong Kong food. Can get quite full. Impressed with the quality. NOTE that you could share tables here!
S. K.
Been here countless times in the last 11 years. Authentic mainly Hongkong noodle and rice dishes like roast duck, hor fun ( flat rice noodles with thick gravy). You can have it with seafood beef or mixed meats or even vegetarian. The roast duck has crispy skin but tender and moist meat.
Typical Chinese fare in London but cooked for the Chinese palette.
They also sell Chinese savoury and sweet stuffed buns, cakes, yu tiao and amazing mango pudding.
Generous portions and reasonably priced.
Service - a lot to be desired - transactional-dont count on great customer service.
But last Sat i went, surprsingly good service for the 1st time in 11 years. Hope it gets better from now.
M. D.
This is one of my favourite Chinese restaurants.
I don't usually choose vegetarian options in restaurants, but I recommend it here!!: 37. fried crispy noodles with Lo Hon mixed vegetable and tofu. Picture added. Delicious and LOADS of veg!!
My wife loves the mixed seafood on ho fun noodles. Pic added.
You can ask for chili oil too (free) and I think it's perfect then.
Reasonable price here too.
E. T.
Great selection of dishes to choose from roast duck rice to wonton noodles (to name a few) Staff are friendly and helpful. It's inside the supermarket so you can grab your shopping before or after a tasty meal
H. J. K.
A total gem for those who want a taste of Hong Kong char chan teng (hk cafe) food! The milk tea was surprisingly legit. The crispy noodles were delicious and so was the curry beef brisket. The char siu was also tender and juicy! There’s a lot to choose from the menu so you can definitely come and visit more than once!
A.
Best soup noodles and authentic hong kong food! Love the fact that they import the noodles from Hong Kong!
J.
Would definitely recommend the lo mein and singapore noodle but probably not the fried ho fun or any of the clear soup noodles
C. H.
Convenient parking within Chinese supermarket and value for money Chinese/Hong Kong food cafe.
A. R.
The Chinese for the restaurant trade and a rare full barbecue meats selection away from London's Chinatown. Absolutely lovely place to eat and a wonderful experience for the shopper as you can see through to the immense Wing Yip supernarket. My pic was kinda liked on my Facebook, too! They recognised me as a regular...so I think I got an extra spoonful of red bean in my coconut milk drink. I had crab and corn soup, then belly pork and roast duck with rice and a sprig of pak choi. It's a lovely treat every time and was £20 with a nice tip, so deeply keenly priced for the quality.
c. m.
My favourite is stir fried flat rice noodle with beef, onion and bean sprouts.
a.
This has the best charsue (bbq pork) and dumplings noodle soup I've ever had, and I've been all around Asia. This is the no. One spot I've found! 🔥 😍
N. L.
Great little lunch place, with roast meats on rice, noodle soups and lots of authentic Cantonese foods. Food that an average English person would like also. Really good Chinese bakery here as well. You should try bubble tea, Chinese cake and crispy pork on rice. Living the HK dream.
J. H.
This a very authentic Hong Kong style cafe with all of the usual dishes including noodles, rice dishes, and cooked meats.
M. C.
What is there to say? Really good food w reasonable prices. One of my fave places to eat.
S. A. N.
... according to my colleague from Hongkong, this is the place to find authentic Hongkong style cooking. a clear favourite now that we have found this place. you need to share a table during busy periods. you won't be disappointed with the price and quality of dishes. top marks!
A. N.
Very tasty, and fast chinese! I love their hotpots and braised beef noodles!
H. B. 0.
I have visited Reindeer cafe for a while now. Staff are friendly but in their own way. Food is generally good and at a decent price or I would not have visited them on a fairly regular basis.
They also have the bakery section and they are as tasty. I normally get cakes from them as well for people's birthdays.
Overall, it is the free parking that is available for those grocery shopping as well, which is Wing Yip, all under one roof!
R. F.
Visited this evening for the first time in months. Food was amazing as always. Restaurant well managed, tables spread out, hand sanitizer available, all staff in masks and track and trace requested before our orders were taken. Definitely taking the current situation seriously and not to the detriment of customer enjoyment of the food! Staff friendly and efficient!
S. C.
Great authentic Chinese food with very fast service.
C. T.
Great value traditional Chinese cafe and bakery. From classic Crispy Belly Pork, Char Siu and Roast duck to other staples, but raised to another level with the fresh baked buns, tarts and the most light and fruitiest of cream cakes (our fave pick for birthdays!)
L. B.
Excellent authentic Cantonese cuisine, some of the best Chinese BBQ meats in north London. Huge menu, speedy service, seating for 80, located within the Wing Yip super store.
Prices a touch high, but highly recommended.
C. N.
Amazing food especially on the weekend when the lion dance arrives!
a.
Very authentic Chinese cafe with a lot of choice, reasonably priced and very tasty
U. K.
Went for duck noodle soup after nearly 5 months. Reasonably priced menu.
E. G.
Excellent service and great food, value staff very friendly and helpful

Update on Sep 2019: Previously given 5 star, review number was 20 back then and now exceeds more than 100. Issue is,
1.new employee hired, an old lady with medium hair, which adds to the bad service group, the young boy waiter is the one that offers good service.
2.Used to be quite empty, now has long queues which is quite frustrated both for the people eating and the people waiting
3. portion shows a trend of reducing quantities
4. too much msg in noodle soups, very thirsty after each meal.
Previous review:
Almost don't want to share this restaurant to others. Good food, huge portion. Absolutely love this restaurant. Like other reviewers said, the lady at the cash machine is not very nice, but as long you just eat, pay and go, you are safe.
G. G.
Great food in a typical Chinese cafe style restaurant. Food comes quickly. Waitress did remind us that no service was included on the bill, thus soliciting for a tip. But that aside, brilliant for quick authentic Cantonese food.
M. B.
Top cantonese classic dishes served here, a long time favourite for us .... We had a dinner for 8 of us here last week, the crispy pork was great, as was the mixed seafood fried noodles, singapore mee, fried squid with chilli and salt, beef fried rice, and tofu with prawns. Support the Mon-Weds 50% off promotion too while it lasts!
d. p.
Authentic Chinese food, very reasonable price
M. D.
Good location, easy to find. Busy so be prepared to wait. Good range of options and food comes to the table fast. Food is good. However the waitresses will annoy you to no end. Either keep.rushing by every few seconds watching if your done ready to swoop in and clear you out of there. Other than that an 'ok' experience..
T. P.
The food is fantastic here. The staff are a bit rude if you aren't Chinese. They put out western cutlery without asking and seem to smirk if you ask for chopsticks. They also are definitely less attentive to non-Chinese.
You seem to feel you are inconveniencing them and they act like they are doing YOU a favour. I come back because the food is really good, and not as expensive as many places. The crispy pork is astounding. Just be prepared for the snub.
S. J.
The Reindeer Cafe is designed and set-up in a very authentic Hong Kong Chinese way and it's the kind of place you go to for a quick meal so anyone who expects to be waited on hand and foot can forget it. It's not the HK Chinese way. It's more of a fast food-paced eaterie that also sells authentic Chinese cakes with the adjoining bakery.
R. G.
I give this place 5 stars for the food alone. Been coming here years and can say it’s the best Chinese food by far that I’ve ever had, it’s difficult to eat Chinese food anywhere else. Don’t expect the most friendly service and the English menu isn’t as detailed as it could be but did I mention the food is amazing
P. L.
Big portions and wholesome, tasty, food, all at great value for money prices. If sophistication is what you're after... then this is probably not the place! If, on the other hand, good, authentic, heart-warming, Cantonese food is what you need, then look no further 😋
A. T.
My favourite haunt for a quick meal outside Chinatown. It is situated next to a Chinese supermarket and there are ample underground free parking. Best meals to have are different types of noodles either fried or soupy.A friend suggested we went here last evening as she had tried the take away service, do not be put off by the attached supermarket
S. C.
It's a cafe with good Chinese food . The roast duck, char siu ,and crisp pork are really good. It's the food you go for at this cafe as it is always busy and noisy. Seating are very close to each other. Prices are very reasonable .
P. C. K. L.
Consistently good, always happy with the food and service. Their bakery is really nice specially their crispy top bun with roast pork, eggs tarts are delicious of you like short crust pastry. Never had a bad meal there, food has always arrived promptly.
K. s.
Had the crispy noodle with pork the other day. It was a lot of meat & veg so the dish was quite big so the price was decent. Had to share a round table with two other people. Came back and have been having stomach aches for the past 2 days.
B. m.
Authentic Chinese food, reasonably priced and speedily delivered hot and fresh to your table. Some may take offence to the abrupt nature of some of the staff but for me it adds to the charm. There is always lots of diners from far East Asian heritage so it must be good.
M. W.
Beef Brisket and Ho Fun is the best..
A. P.
Always busy, always fresh and always nice with decent portions for the price. Check out their bakery products, fresh daily and sell out quick on weekends.
J. R.
Now a regular customer. Most authentic Hong Kong style food in London outside Chinatown and bettering many there. Large menu and portions, fast service even when busy, when you can expect to share a table if your party is 1-2 persons; this is often a bonus... Cafe staff are excellent and very hard-working and as helpful as can be even when busy - it's a café!
C. T.
Authentic Hong Kong-style food.
l. c.
Always quick efficient service and tasty food .
u. m.
Amazing food and great quick service

This place is reasonable priced for what you get. You won’t get cheaper places other than Chinatown in London. Portions are generous and the flavours are close to what you can get in Hong Kong. The staff can be terse - do not expect silver service. I had worse service in Chinatown - London, Birmingham, Manchester.
S. M.
Tasty food on first visit here. Pretty swift service in order to turn around table for next customer. Portion was large so enough for sharing noodle dish which seemed alright to do.
C. C.
Stop and rest a while after (or before!) your shopping experience. Just outside the Glades, Bromley.Lovely little park next to a big shopping center - so take time off to sit and enjoy life before or after you shopping !Was always a handy space to let the rug rats run free for twenty minutes but the kids play area is a welcome bonus.
a. h.
fast and friendly service and the food is always perfect! only down side is having to share tables when it's busy. other than that. cant complain! far better value and quality than the nearby Bang Bang which is a total rip off.
S.
Great food and portions. Pre-pandemic, you had to share a table with strangers as they try to occupy every seat.
C. H.
Best place to eat Chinese in North London
Great selection of menu dishes that are cooked authentically and are served quickly
Prices are reasonable and no service charge added to bill
Always came here for birthday celebrations as the patisserie within the Cafe sells delicious Chinese cakes
Y. M.
A true Hong kong cafe experience! V old fashioned HK bakery. I love it.. makes me homesick and i want to return home soon!
W. N.
Very proper Hong Kong style cafe... love the cold milk tea... taste very similar to what you can get from Hong Kong. But you might need to join table if you are only a party of 1-2 people... it is worth it... try to avoid lunch time coz it does get VERY BUSY...
k.
Big portion Chinese food that does not compromise on taste. Strangely I find the food from this 'bistro/cafe' better than the same dish from restaurant next door when it is supposed to come out of the same kitchen.
A. M. G.
The food is good and reasonably priced. Sometimes you have to wait to get a table and may have to share your table with others.
G. L.
So good for value! Quick service, they also take card! Can order in advance and collect too which is nice. Under £10 for a big portion of most stuff.
E. Z.
Delicious authentic food! Great portion at reasonable price. Speedy service.
M. L.
Best roast duck and crispy pork in London. Staff can be quite rude but that's somehow expected from place like this.
Great value for money.
N. P.

J. B.
The food is amazing and good quality. Some of the best crispy pork belly this side of China town.
g. w.
If you like Chinese food this place is worth a visit, downside they are always busy so depending on when you go, you may have to wait, but it worth it
A. F.
Quick, tasty, convenient, reasonably priced with bakery and supermarket available to boot.
Their beef soup and noodle dishes are fantastic
D. C.
Lovely food and super quick service - good portion sizes and value for money
Y. L.
Excellent food. I'm a regular and they know me😉 Food is delicious and very affordable for the quality. Also lovely patisserie.
A. T.
Great cafe which serves good food at a decent price. Try the milk tea. It really reminds me of the ones you get in Hong Kong.
M. C.

Great for a lunch, with typical asian restaurant feel - very hustly bustly. The pork crackle and duck are great.
R. D.
Fast fresh and reasonable priced food. Good portion. Shame it closes early on Sundays. Good bread collection.
B. V.
Always enjoy their great homely food. Their dumpings their bubbled drinks with coconuts. A really found in the middle of staple corner.
N.
Nice food and quick service, however was served pork when i explicity asked for no pork.
G. S.
Crowded but most of the diners are Chinese freshly cooked fine food and patisserie

Must be called dry fried beef river + C0T!
In addition, two plates of shredded pork fried noodles (crispy noodles!) are the same as sing rice
Baked pig is just ordinary, because it's not Café style😝
Zhong wants a large piece of food to be eaten, and the food is packed and taken care of to bury the next meal.
Rent a car to eat!
