Reviews of Sagar Vegan & Vegetarian Restaurant - Covent Garden
S. B.
Had such lovely food and great service for dinner with a friend here. Lots of food choices, cosy interior, great classic Bollywood music and a lovely server Sheikh for the evening who was very attentive and friendly. Can't wait to come back again!
L. L.
Lovely cozy space. Friendly staff very quick to serve. The food is always amazing full of flavour and very different from what most might expect. Highly recommended.
K. B.
We had mutter paneer and fried Dahl with a garlic rice, batura, and chipatti, and everything was so tasty. This is our second visit here and we will keep coming back. Food is so tasty! Also our waiter was very friendly and helpful when recommending foods and deadling with our allergies! Thank you Isak! 👍🏼
S. W.
We enjoyed a vegan valentine's day meal here. Food was amazing, staff lovely too.
Forgot to take photos of food just clean plates!
F. M. G.
Fantastic food. As a non vegetarian I got full with fresh and quality food . Good service too. Would get back on our next trip to London ;)
H. R.
I had been here a few years ago and came back for lunch today, it was even better than before (and was 5 star back then too!) Amazing food, beautiful quality, ideal for vegans and vegetarians, and staff are kind, considerate and just generally lovely! I highly recommend!
V. N.
Good food - gives an authentic south Indian feel. However I found the curries a bit salty. Easily accessible via public transport, nice environment. I was impressed with channa batura, most of the food hit the mark in terms of expectations.
Nice and cosy place, not too busy - mostly vegetarian food and a large menu. Dosa and vadas were also reasonably good. Chats are not their forte but they do a decent job with those ad well. Good choice to get a taste of south Indian cuisine
s. v.
Best place for vegetarians, Had Great Thali meals. 100% recommended
C. B.
Delicious food. We ordered lots of food to share and got to try all the different flavours. Our waiter Isak looked after us and helped us order some new dishes we hadn't tried.
Can't wait to visit again!

We dined indoors twice on a recent visit to London following the easing of lockdown restrictions. The food was tremendous, such a treat to find good authentic veg Indian food. Portion size was good and overall very happy with service and VFM.
Excellent Covid measures in place gave us peace of mind. Can't wait to return!

One fo my favourite Indians restaurant in London Covent Garden Sagar vegetarian Indians restaurant staff are Lovely and so helpful Great for vegans the food is Delicious
s. f.
Just had a lovely meal today . All fresh and quick friendly service. Nice to see the staff keeping all of the areas clean (including the outside). Manager was very helpful and friendly as well.
S. P.
Super delicious. So nice to have interesting Vegetarian and Vegan food. Good value too. Sev Puri was tasty with all the variety of flavours. Dahl was fab with the fried onions. Fresh bread was fluffy and tasty. Food came quickly. Lovely attentive welcoming staff, will definitely visit again next time we are in London. Thanks so much
L. A.
I'm here all the time; great go-to for delish veggie food in town without busting the bank. It's really good for a before theatre bite to eat- they always have tables and it's pretty quick. Isak was fab this visit!
b. t.
Delicious food at reasonable prices and friendly service. Came here for mine and my boyfriend’s anniversary and received free ice cream! Definitely recommend!
P. A.
Delicious! Was really pleased to find a vegetarian curry restaurant that offers food packed with flavour and texture. They also have vegan options which was considerate.
Attentive and helpful staff ☺️
Bathrooms could use a little work as they smelled slightly of damp and were a bit untidy but the food and restaurant atmosphere were lovely.
J. B.
Incredibly good vegetarian food. You wont miss meat in this Restaurant, they have some of the best indian dishes i ate for a long time. Often in an indian Restaurant the dishes are drowned in a yellow / green or red Sauce and whatever is in it Tastes the same. Here you will get a big variety of fantastic flavours and texrures. Respect!
B. W.
Amazing experience. Food service was very quick and staff were very friendly, young lady waitress was very accommodating and very friendly. Food was great! Definitely coming again and would recommend.
A. S.
Over half the customers in the Indian restaurant worth of India, so we could tell that it's authentic and does good Indian food.
It was great, wholesomely done and not padded out with the ingredients restaurants often use which make things less healthy.
The bread was made to perfection, the ingredients were wholesome and succulent and recipes were super.
Over half of the menu is vegan, which was nice as well.
It's staff are quite rushed, people are packed quite closely together, but the prices are great.
One really annoying thing was the waiter kept on bumping into my shoulder. I stopped it by by getting even more tightly into the table than was comfortable for me and the person sitting next to me. After doing it about 10 times he did apologise, but if I had a bad shoulder or any other medical issues it would have caused me problems. I don't so I was fine, but it was a bit annoying.
Fortunately the staff were so friendly and the food was so good that it still retains 5 stars and I'd recommend it to others.
D. S.
Nice location and ambience. Being Indian and fan of Southern Indian cuisine, I found the food good enough but cannot say it was the best. For masala tea they served a ready powdered mix tea, which was good but not authentic.
F. K.
Been here a few times now and have enjoyed it every time. Everything's vegetarian and there are abundant vegan options. Can particularly recommend the dosas and uthappams. Good curries as well.
S. C.
4/5 stars as not the most salubrious venue and service needed a bit of encouragement (reminder for water) but my word - the food was fantastic. Photos on my Instagram. Would certainly visit again. Great that it was veggie /vegan and food so fresh.
L. W.
Beautiful, beautiful food and extremely reasonably priced especially for central London. Most food was vegan, which was incredible and it tasted delicious. Isak was such a great server, really great energy and really friendly!
P. K.
The food is nice: made of fresh ingredients, mostly well cooked (some pieces of aubergine were undercooked but mostly fine), and has nice subtle flavors. But unfortunately they remain subtle in flavor: I asked to have my dishes extremely spicy but they just gave fresh chillies on a side and didn't cook the dishes themselves spicy. Also the portions are very very small and I was left hungry after two curries. One further minus is that it's cold in the restaurant and they keep the door open even when it's very cold outside as well. Service is friendly and the restaurant settings pleasant without any too loud music. And huge greetings that the menu is mostly vegan!
In sum, very average, not too bad but nothing special.
S. C.
Delicious and authentic Indian cuisine, great location and local feel.
M.
The food was pretty decent but just a bit too expensive. There are much cheaper and better curries to be found in London. The service was good albeit a little pushy.
M. L. H.
Great service and the most amazing food. We all had the South Indian Thali, which had a variety of flavours from quite spicy soup to the cooling cucumber Raita, wonderful rice and a Cardamom dessert.
A friend with nut allergies was catered for. We enjoyed our Mango lassi drinks. It is so hard not to drink it in one go as it is so lovely.
H. P.
Delicious food, great service and really cosy vibe. Our waiter Isak was helpful and kind. We’ve been back multiple times and it’s always wonderful.
B. L.
Very tasty food, great for vegan and gluten free options without compromising on taste and value. We went to the Covent Garden restaurant and left very happy
T. W.
Great meal, with a crazy amount of vegan options. Would definitely visit again.
Great service as well.
Recommended to anyone!
N. W.
Sagar was recommended by a friend and absolutely lived up to the recommendation! Amazing food and lovely staff, Isaac was very helpful and helped us choose a delicious platter to share. Lots of vegan options
K. K.
my favorite spot! it’s a go to for us on the weekdays. very friendly service, delicious food. we get the thali and it’s a perfect amount of food. friendly for LGBTQ couples
J. B.
I was wandering through Covent Garden on a Saturday evening, exhausted and almost dead from the cold, barely able to walk... I was crawling through Catherine St when I remembered the reputation of South Indian "filter" coffee and my eyes came across this restaurant. I thought: "Nah, they'll never agree to give me only ONE coffee"... but I pushed the door, out of breath. And.... they did agree!!! thanks to the super nice welcome that one of the waiter gave me. He was able to make me this (indeed) damn GOOD coffee while being in the middle of the rush hour and serving dozen of tables... As this beverage of the Gods was flowing through my throat, all the madness & cold around me finally disappeared... I even saw the Sun for a short moment, warming and brightening my day! Thank you, and I'll be back to taste your surely delicious food!
N. M.
Delicious Indian food - we had the chili paneer appetizer, and the North Indian and South Indian Thalis. The dishes were great and well-portioned, and the service was quick. A convenient and no-frills spot for good Indian food.
J. D.
We had an absolutely amazing time at Sagar! Such delicious food and a real bonus that everything is vegetatian! The mango lassis are amazing! We sampled the tali and masala dosa, both of which were extremely traditionally south Indian and were seasoned to perfection! Will definitely be coming back the next time we are in London!
D. S.
Good vegetarian food!!! The masala dosa tasted fresh and spiced perfectly. We enjoyed the chilli paneer and the idli. Service could have been slightly better.
S. B.
We had a very good vegan thali, which isn't listed in the menu but you can ask for it. The bread was fresh and warm and everything was spiced nicely.
The price was a little bit on the high side with 19 pound for the thali, but considering that the restaurant is in Central London and that it was quite a large portion, that's fine.
H. D. P.
Lovely experience before the theatre. Lots of vegan choices. Isaac was super helpful and friendly. Great service.
M. M.
We arrived at this vegetarian Indian restaurant by chance, because eveyrwhere else was booked up, Saturday evening before the shows!
All I can say is that we were very pleasantly suprised. Friendly helpful staff, plenty to choose from. It appeared to be very authentic. I do not think you will be dissaponted if you make it your first choice for the night. Reccomend the Lassi (yoghurt) drinks, especialy if having something spicy.
Enjoy
m. W.
We have had great food, staff amazing and would 100% recommend this establishment. Thank you for your care, consideration and even better service.
S. J.
The best typical south Indian food had in my UK experience. Very friendly staff and food in good quantity too. Keep the quality up, cheers !!
A. P.
Great food, good value, had a lovely evening here and the waiters were kind enough to offer a dessert on the house!
S. T.
Very nice pre-theatre meal. Lively atmosphere and friendly staff, had the thali which was tasty and good value
G. B.
Truly fantastic quality Indian food. After spending a year in India, I've been looking for food in the UK that tasted like it did there. This is one of the few restaurants that, for me, tastes like India.
Highly recommended.
G. S.
100% would recommend. Amazing food, one of the best curries I’ve had. Staff are brilliant, friendly and attentive. Try it!
M. V.
The staff are friendly and pleasant. Unfortunately the quality of the food appears to have deteriorated: our dosas were luke warm and some of the food we ordered lacked flavour. It is a shame as in the past the food has been excellent. It is also quite pricey but this is understandable given central location.
L. B.
delicious & truly authentic southern Indian food, our waiter Isak was very friendly as well! :)
c. g.
Me and my partner tried the Masala Dosa and Idli, the masala (potato curry not cooked properly) and most sambar taste is not at all good, it like masala powder added in water.
Even they don't serve the water for free, its chargeable. In all restaurants water serves free of charge
R. C.
This restaurant is located near Covent Garden. The food is good. They don’t have a specialty, they have both North Indian as well as South Indian dishes. Some of their dishes are good. I tasted both kinds, but liked the North Indian ones. The staff here is also quite friendly. I won’t mind going back there.
S. S.
Their dosas, idlis and uttapams have excellent texture and definitely some of the best ones in London. The Sambhar isn't spicy enough but I don't grudge it much now, I've learnt to re-calibrate my palate. Overall, really good, satisfying South Indian foods and the Rava Masala Dosa is a must try.
B. R.
Great food and service. Isak who served me made me feel very welcome. Namaste 🙏🏼
A. G.
One of the best Vegetarian Udupi style Indian cuisine in London. Slightly pricy but worth the quantity! Truly authentic.
E. J.
Wonderful vegan dosai. Tasty, fresh and satisfying.
T. Q.
Lovely restuarant 2 min walk from Covent Garden Square.
Sagar has been there for many years and has really friendly service.
The food food is vegatarian/vegan and is absolutely delicious. Fairly priced as well.
There is indoor seating and now also so outside seating too.
T. A.
Experience a city through food! Sagar with its delicious good gives a feel of South India in the best possible manner! Loved the service and the food!
N. L.
Visited a year ago and came back to eat their vegan Thali again! I recommend it, especially the vegetable kurma (my favourite). Lovely, friendly service on both occasions.
V.
The samosa was great, perfect blend of thick pastry with a great filling. Disappointed by my meal choice but that wont put me of coming back and trying something different. The vegetable pilau lacked flavour and the aubergine curry was so bland it could have been poured from a jar
N. G.
Great place to have comfort Indian food. Staff was very nice. The dishes were tasty and for a reasonable price. Overall, lovely experience, would go back. Interestingly, I am not a big fan of Indian food based on what I have tried so far in other places but after eating at this restaurant, I changed my mind. And I had no idea about Indian pizza! Was delicious.
B. A.
Really delicious, homely and friendly place. Loved the uttapam and delicious puris.
T. J. M.
For flavour one of the best places I have visited. Clearly and easy choice for lunch or dinner. ENJOY :-)
E. L.
Absolutely delicious, I loved the chickpea channa, Isak was incredibly friendly and we had a great lunch
We will be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
C. B.
PROS
Excellent customer service
Location right in Covent Garden within 1-2 mins of Apple Market
The food was EXCELLENT.
Dahi Puri was excellent and well prepared
Mysore Masala Dosa was awesome. Plenty of filling with the Dosa. Wish they would give more sambhar cause what they give is not a lot. Had to order one more extra sambhar
I will DEFINITELY come back here again to try other items.
You will NOT be disappointed

Strongly recommended!!
Amazing vegan options!
f. s.
Totally yummy food the dosa was immense!
R. P.
We had a lovely lunch here, and Isaac the waiter was helpful and friendly. Will definitely be back!
H. G. (.
Good vegetarian food. Not spicy enough for me :) but very good. Feels like an authentic Indian restaurant.
The onion bhajia was excellent! We also had vegetable kurma and bhajee curries which were good.
S. B.
Lovely food, didn't miss the meat one bit. Very tasty indeed
H. G.
I love Sagar’s food and ambience - the food is fresh and well balanced - just perfect vegan and vegetarian cooking with stacks of taste
F. T.
The mattar paneer could have been better seasoned, but all in all it was a pretty ok. The uthappam was on the greasy side, but the idlis was rather nice, and the accompanying chutneys rather good.
J. Z.
Great service by team, Sheikh was very friendly, had a lovely lunch
L. Q. M.
Nice Indian food and warm atmosphere! Will come back.
A.
Amazing service!!! The mango lasi and the pani puri were great
R. R.
Just average. Food was too oily. Nice selection of South Indian dishes though
p. b.
Good food and lovely service by Isak, felt homely after a long time at an Indian restaurant!
A. P.
polite, attentive staff and very tasty, reasonably priced food - will definitely come back soon!
h. g.
The food was SUPER fresh! Best South Indian food I’ve had in a long time. The food was ready quick, must visit!
O. H.
Have come back many times. Delicious food. Good value. Especially like the dosa and cauliflower curry.
V. M.
Delicious Indian vegan food. We ordered 1 plate for two and it was quite good. The home made lemonade and mango lassi also were amazing.
B. P.
Our first vegan Indian meal out since becoming vegan, delicious vegan thali @sagar_veggie_vegan Covent Garden , London . Comes with 7 dishes (including Chana masala, aubergine bhaji, sambar) plus Parthia, popadom and dessert , we will definitely be coming again! #vegancurry #veganindianfood #veganindianlondon #veganrestaurantlondon
H. T.
Great food, great service - even some dessert on the house! Will be back :)
L. M.
I found this place searching Google Maps and noticed it had high marks. So glad I went, the food was outstanding and I'm not vegeterian. The food was not fatty like some Indian restaurants. Shame it is so far away from where I live as I want to go again.
C. P.
Isac and the team were amazing, lovely food and cosy space
A. S.
Their Dosa varieties and meals are very tasty. I didn't like idly over here. Though cost is not cheap, it is affordable. Must try for Indian cuisine.
O. O.
Really lovely ambience. We had Alfresco dining. Very good veggie food. Tasty as well. Service was excellent. Covid protocol was adhered to.
H. ا.
Nice and tasty. Decor need updating, customer service needs polishing
k.
A vegan option that tastes great. Of course you don’t need to be vegan.
B. L.
Amazing Indian restaurant and very well priced, especially as it’s in Covent Garden. The portion sizes were good too and most of the dishes are vegan. I’m vegan, so I love that but I took family with me who aren’t vegan and they loved it too! Hats off to the chef!
t.
Lovely vegetarian South Indian food. Excellent starters and dosas.
H. S.
Great vegetarian food, a lot of which is naturally vegan.
Try their dosa, you won't regret it.
P. C.
Awesome vegetarian place( Udipi origin), affordable pricing, good service, authentic tasty food. A must for veggie or other foodies In London.
G. T.
This was by far the best southern Indian food I've eaten. At £78 for 3 this was outside my normal budget, but we did have 3 yummy courses and wine or cobra. Social distancing was observed, and the atmosphere was fabulous. I've also eaten at Percy Street. Both beyond superb.
A. J.
Yummy vegetarian food.
Authentic sound Indian taste.
Service was was and very good.
N. F.
Amazing food great service and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend
R. A.
We came here looking for a Pure Vegetarian place serving some South Indian food and we were quite satisfied with our meal here.
We ordered:
Masala Dosa - Nice large dosa like the one we get in India
Paneer Masala Dosa - It was like a Masala Dosa with some pieces of Paneer in the masala.
Masala Utappa - It was a tasty thick utappa with mulgapuddi powder on it.
Puri - We ordered puri to eat the excess masala left behind. It was quite oily but tasty too.
Overall, the bill for these was £30, which is quite reasonable for the good quality of food served. The staff communicates well in Hindi & English and there is option for Jain food too here.
S. S.
I love this place. I’m a big fan of Indian cuisine and would often go here on my lunch breaks at work. I went back yesterday after a long COVID-induced break and was glad to see they’re still serving the same comforting, delicious food. Staff are friendly as usual and prices are more than reasonable.
B. P.
Coffee was authentic south Indian. Idli and vada not good as expected. Pricey
R.
Nice food, customer service was ok. Overall nice ambience and good price for central London.
A. G.
Nice food, good value, really nice staff!
M. S.
Lovely vegetarian food, our second visit
G. R.
Great food and great value for money. Would recommend!
A. M.
Excellent service from Shuma. Delicious food
T.
Great choice of vegetarian and vegan Indian dishes. If, like me, you like to try lots of different flavours, than I would recommend ordering one of the Thalis.
M. N.
Such a great menu. Not arduously long. All allergens listed.
Ordered lentil pizza (yum) and some sides (double yum)
Food wasn’t swimming in oil.
Waiter was patient and polite.
Easy to find.
COVID safe.
Would definitely go back 🌟
M. S.
What an amazing vegan curry restaurant! Would highly recommend as it’s one of the best curries I’ve ever tasted.
L. A.
Amazing food from both the North and the South of the Subcontinent! I felt very happy and safe to see that social distancing was fully respected and implemented (there was always a table blocked between two tables). Well done, Sagar Team!! The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
M. B.
Great spicy vegetarian food recommended
t. s.
Decent Indian food, but the service was very bad. 12.5% service included in bill.
A. S.
The food is okay..have eaten better. Food is served quickly. Price is moderate.
N. W.
I never thought vegetarian could taste so good! Three of us meat eaters went for dinner here today and asked the waiter to recommend some dishes. We were all very pleasantly surprised. Very flavoursome and healthy food. I will be going again.
A. D.
Amazing vegan Indian food. Authentic, tasty and clean!
We loved the Chana masala in particular , had a great depth of flavour. The pakora were fresh and authentic too! Friendly waiter and fab location. I’d defo recommend if you enjoy HEALTHY Indian food.
J. S.
Plenty of great vegan options including thali if you want to sample a bit of everything!
D. F.
I enjoyed my meal here. Convivial atmosphere.
G. H.
Great range of food, served quickly and with friendly service. Good prices for central London.
B. B.
Excellent Vegan food also a lot of Gluten free options
T. P.
Excellent food, fantastic quality. Service a bit slow, but they do get very busy.
C. G.
Authentic tasty food and kind staff. Good secret for a central London location you can get a table in. They have a lunch box offer, with a daal and veggie curry of the day and flavoured rice, which is quick and v. cheap for the area
A. S.
The paper masala dosa is amazing and the staff are really friendly
J.
Really enjoyed our evening here. A varied assortment of dishes on offer for different dietary needs. The food was fresh and tasty with a nice level of spice. The service was quick and overall just great with welcoming and friendly staff. Would highly recommend.
A. S.
Really good South Indian vegetarian and vegan restaurant. Menu clearly labelled so you know what's vegan, and allergens clear to see too. Food was fresh and spices were used to blend and not shock your pallette. Tables a bit small, so it got cramped, but otherwise, a great experience.
A. K. (.
Pretty freaking good. The owner is the type of person that'll act as if you are already buddies. The food was delicious and very flavorful. I would appreciate to scale up the portions a bit, or at least, lower the prices. As far as variety goes, we were very satisfied. They provided us with a separate vegan menu without me even having to ask, they took initiative to do that. I would revisit the restaurant for sure.
G. B.
Very friendly, recommended great dishes & food was delicious.
M. A. C.
A really nice Indian, very fast service, fantastic food. All vegetarian or Vegan, I'm a meat eater but found it really nice. I would recommend. It had no Brown rice and that was a shame, I would have thought they would cater for the healthy, but I guess you can't have everything. Maybe they will in the future.
A. C.
Food is nice. It was busy so I have to wait long for my order.
H. D.
Best vegetarian Indian food in Central London. Service is quick so perfect for lunch. Food is reasonably priced and fresh. Really good tasty food and quite large portions as well. Thalis are really good value with lots of different curries, but they also do a great selection of dosas. Haven't been here in ages but after today, will be back soon.
K. P.
Great South Indian food. Right in the heart of cov garden. Brilliant
S. E.
My husband and I visited Sagar at the recommendation of a London local about a year ago and were pleased with the experience as we were just discovering how much we love Indian food. However, we visited again today and were treated pretty rudely by staff for not ordering what they felt like was enough food (we split a few dishes between the two of us and had also eaten just about two hours prior so we didn't want a lot). Even though the food was good, I'm not sure we'll return - there's lots of options for Indian food in London and we'd much rather have it paired with respectful service.
V. J.
Nice quality food and an amazing option for those who are vegetarian and vegan. The flavours are very authentic and the size/price/quality balance is quite ok. This one in particular con feel too noisy as the table are very close to each other. The waiter in the place are kind of particular, or maybe moody, but still you'll enjoy your food
Recommended if you're planning for a workday lunch - timing is pretty good.
p. c.
Very authentic tasty Indian food,
I will return.
A. L. D.
I took my parents to this restaurant to make them try Indian food for the first time. The food was really good, the service was quick and our waiter was genuinely nice and very sweet. We had a great time and would definitely go back. They even offered us some really good passon fruit ice cream for dessert!
N. N.
Overall food was nice. However, service was very bad. The guy was looking at his phone instead of taking my order. Then when I ordered no smile or anything to ask if I needed a drink, like water. Serving food and no smile, taking plates and no smile or “how was everything?” No asking if I needed any desert or tea at the end. Would not come back and do not recommend. Better places are Dishoom and Masala Zone (earls court) for great food and service combined. Service needs BIG improvement.
E. M.
Extremely tasty and highly affordable, the vegan choice is huge and they also have vegan ice cream and desserts. Portions are generous so be sure to not order too much! If you like indian food it's a really good place.
G. F.
Delicious food and great choice - will be back!
P. K.
My husband and I went to Sagar on a Saturday evening. We were seated on the top floor and we ordered a Vegan thali informing the server of our dietary needs: vegan and gluten free. They replaced the items that contained gluten with alternatives which was good however replacing a dessert with a salad was not quite what I was expecting; they should aim to replace a dessert with something of equivalent weighting ie curry or other alternative. What I was really disappointed was with the fact that food was not piping hot; it was warm. So we sent out food back but the server commented that the food gets warm because it comes up on a lift, which I found bizarre. On another note, the waiter started commenting on the fact that we were gluten free so we could not have any dessert, however his exact wording being “If I give you gluten, you die and I am held responsible” which I found really rude. I will definitely not be going back to this place. There are much better and cheaper Indian places to eat in London.
S. T.
Tasty and fast. The menu is relatively simple, as is the food - but it tastes really good. If you think that the prices are low, it's partly because many of the dishes are small. In other words if you want a hearty meal you need to order a Thali or a couple of dishes. You'll probably not spend ages in here, but you'll enjoy what you get.
B. J.
Undoubtedly it is one of the good Indian restaurant in that area however for was not spicy as what am India would prefer
S. N.
This is a wonderful and clean place to enjoy vegetarian south Indian cuisine. As a vegetarian I search for good Indian food .This restaurant serves karnataka foods .
B. A. N.
I would not order the platter again it doesn’t really offer value for money very tiny portions and not full of flavor. I paid for main dish but left the place still hungry and not satisfied.
E. R.
The food was so good and the presentation was surprising. Absolutely try the vegan dessert!
L. K.
Unexpectedly ended up eating at this restaurant and I must say it was excellent. The Menu was varied for all tastes and the overall experience was great. Not often in this area of London but will definitely return. Recommended for sure.

Loved it! The popular indian vegetarian restaurant in London. Authentic taste specially of south indian dishes. Good precautionary measure of Covid situations. Enjoyed the meal 👍

Such a great Indian restaurant! I was sceptical as I'm not a vegetarian but went for my friends who are vegetarian and vegan. They were over the moon because they'd never had so much choice in a restaurant before! We had the most delicious meal - My boyfriend and I shared one of the Thalis and a starter and we were full to the brim! And to add to all that our waiter was so so great. He was making us laugh, he was super attentive and shook all of our hands as we left. Lovely evening!
W. H.
Absolutely brilliant food. Every dish has its own specific sauce and flavour. Everything is made with care and attention to detail. The service is courteous and attentive. I recommend this without hesitation. You must try it!
V. R.
We had a bit of long wait for Thalis like more than 3 hours. Food was decent.. doors were not closing for us when we went.. so it was cold in the night with chill air buzzing inside. The Overall experience was okay.. not bad..
M. L. W.
The menu is clearly marked for vegan items (including wines) and allergens (milk, gluten). I cannot speak to the allergen control, but as a vegan, I was very satisfied with the wide variety of options. Samosas were tasty (especially the green sauce). Chilean sauvignon blanc was quite good— could have been chilled colder. This place came up near my hotel in Covent Garden while searching for vegan options, and it definitely delivered for that. I sat down for dinner around 5:40, and there were steady arrivals after that, but no one had to wait to be seated.
G. A.
Great place, a variety of choices in the menu, the abundance of food is so large it took as a while to decide. Plenty of vegan options, vegan wines also available. Definitely recommend, big sized not so bad prices.
A. Z.
Really really good vegetarian Indian place. Beautifully decorated, with a huge menu, and an ideal location. Gets very busy when there's something on at Theatre Royal across the street but you can make a reservation in advance. Try the Thali (platter of lots of small dishes) if you're overwhelmed by the menu- it's all delicious and you can't go wrong.
K. S.
A decent vegetarian restaurant. Good choice of South Indian food available. The meals are priced reasonably and it is good. Service is decent. The restaurant is not wheelchair friendly. Parking will be a challenge. Restrooms available. Simple ambiance and seating facilities.
S. R. S.
Sagar is great place for Indian vegetarian food in Central London. The restaurant has a nice ambience and is quite spacious. The staff are attentive and friendly. The food is simple and feels light. Their take away lunch box is very good value for money.
H. M.
The food isn't great. We had the kancheepuram idly and the coconut chutney was stale. My husband had the dosa which had a bit of hair in it. While they did replace it, it was unappetizing and we weren't in a mood to eat again. Not a fan
M. I.
Great South Indian Cuisine at great prices considering the location.
Sagar Covent Garden is at the heart of "tourist" London, these guys could easily apply the "uplift" many other restaurants seem to add around such honeypots. The food is absolutely outstanding and the Vegan option is clearly marked by asking for the Vegan menu. Huge options for Veg / Vegans including puds. I had the Thali and only just managed to finish the banquet. Staff were super friendly without being overbearing, happy to explain the food or suggest which goes best with which. Sagar is a small chain in and around London so I'll certainly try out the other ones when in the need for some great value Indian food.
A. B.
Very tasty food. Vegan friendly. Aromatic and trudy indian taste. Rich in spices. Even though was tasty, the portions were small. I tought the bowl of rice is for one person but was for two persons. The menu is large and you can choose from a large variety of meals and drinks. But it doesn't contain prices which is a bit tricky to understand what will you gonna eat next. It is written the main allergies and this is useful. Anyway, is better to ask/say about your particular allergies and to pay attention for the very spicy meals. The staff was friendly and polite.
L. S.
I am not a vegetarian (I love my meats and seafood) and I'm not from India so I can't comment on the authenticity of the food, but my two Indian friends love this place and they seemed very excited to be able to order dishes that are difficult to make at home. in terms of ambience, it feels just like any other typical down-to-earth curry house (obviously stereotyping here) which is fine given the inexpensive prices for Covent Garden. Personally I found it a bit boring and lacking in big flavours, but I would recommend it if you're a vegetarian.
R. A.
We came here looking for a Pure Vegetarian place serving some South Indian food and we were quite satisfied with our meal here. …
M. B.
Nice food and service. A bit pricey but which is obvious given the location. The place is small but comfortable. Most of the people who visit this place are non-Indian population per our experience.
D. M.
Loved it! The popular indian vegetarian restaurant in London. Authentic taste specially of south indian dishes. Good precautionary measure of Covid situations. Enjoyed the meal 👍
R. T.
Awesome South Indian food. Great service and perfect location. A bit pricier than they were but still worth a visit.
T. B.
One of the best places I ate South Indian food because it is Vegetarian but full of flavour you cannot tell you are eating veg food I am thoroughly impressed also great location and doing Eat Out scheme !
I. M.
The best Mysore Masala Dosa in these parts!
D. V.
Good quick service. Friendly staff and amazing south Indian food. Great place for those looking for pure veg and vegan restaurants in the city.
A. D.
Amazing vegan Indian food. Authentic, tasty and clean!
We loved the Chana masala in particular , had a great depth of flavour. The …
M. H.
Really good food, nice atmosphere and attentive serving staff. Great to find quality vegetarian food that is also good for committed carnivores.
(There were a couple of tables of the kind of posh people who don't have inside voices, but they didn't manage to spoil it with their loud, unwanted opinions.)
T. D.
I come here quite often as my daughters are veggies and somehow we never seem to stay long enough to really eat through the menu. On a brief stopover on the way to Gaugin we each had a dosa stuffed with potatoes and carrots, served with some pickles, and it amazes me how much flavour they manage to put into this simple combination. Next time I will.have a thali, I am determined, though I said that last time too.
D. V.
Good quick service. Friendly staff and amazing south Indian food. Great place for those looking for pure veg and vegan restaurants in the city.
D. M.
Good option for veggies but they seemed under staffed meaning the service was lacking at times. Staff seemed annoyed to take our order. I would say that the starters are much nicer than the mains. The dosa are nice but the Dahl accompanying it is a small portion.
T. G.
Absolutely fantastic food and service. We got there early when it was quiet but the place soon filled up.
The vegan selection is large and the food is well spiced and prepared. 10/10 would return.
E. P.
One of my favorite vegan/vegetarian restaurants in the heart of London! Big variety of food! Great location, friendly staff, affordable. I recommend the onion lentil pizza! So good!
S. W.
Delicious vegetarian and vegan Indian dishes. The lentil pancakes are excellent. We've been here two or three times now and the food is always great.
N. J.
Best South Indian and Vegetarian Indian food in Covent Garden, hands down! Truly reminds you of a typical Udupi restaurant in India. For the portion sizes, the prices are high. But that's to be expected of London and Covent Garden in particular.
R. M.
Great vegetarian Indian food, and there is a dash of drama with the paper dosa. which can be enormous.
Good satisfying food at a decent price in a great location for going out. They have a an ace lunchtime set menu and even one or two dedicated meat eaters have been impressed.
I particularly like the spicy sambar.
A. G.
We had been looking for a good place to get Masala Dosas in the London area, and we were certainly not disappointed with the delicious Masala Dosas we got here. Lots of choice, including the classic Masala Dosa, simple plain Dosa, or even an incredible Paneer Masala Dosa that was exquisite. Very friendly staff, and we will certainly hope to go back for more Masala Dosas in the future. Excellent location in central London near all the tourist hotspots and tube stations etc. Definitely would recommend.
G. C.
Delicious vegetarian food at the heart of Covent Garden, warm friendly staff (thank you Rahul), recommended.
S. M.
I picked this restaurant so that for once my vegetarian friend could choose from the whole menu, and we both loved it - the waiters were very friendly and the food was superb - some interesting items, such as puffy breads, dosas and lentil 'pizzas' that I hadn't tried before, and my friend raved over the falooda milkshake, which looked so good that I had one as a dessert - I just asked for extra ice cream in it. we will definitely be returning (more than once I suspect) to try some of the other menu choices!
M. S.
My favourite affordable eating place in the area. Vegetarian southern Indian food. Their takeaway lunch box is under £4 and includes rice, bread, a couple of savoury dishes, yogurt and salad. Their thalis and lunch deals are also excellent and I've used this place for working lunches as well as dates and family gatherings - it works for everything!
M. B.
Nice food and service. A bit pricey but which is obvious given the location. The place is small but comfortable. Most of the people who visit this place are non-Indian population per our experience.
P. W.
I booked this place as it had a series of good reviews. I found it souless, and despite the menu being 'different' managed to order a very bland meal without any guidance from the waiter. Not one I will bother to go back to.
A. S.
Very tasty and authentic South Indian fare in the middle of the city. The ambiance is reflective of any decent restaurant you would find in Bangalore, and the food follows suit too. They do a great range of dosas, and their dahi potato puri is super-amazing!
l. b.
Wonderful food great location! Came to London for the weekend and visited Sagar on a Saturday night. Service was good and although busy booking a table and ordering of food was prompt. However, the best part was by far the food. I love south Indian food particuarly dosa and idli. Sagars idli in particular was the best I have tasted, melts in your mouth and fantastic taste. Really can't recommend highly enough. I'll be back.
S. F.
Very happy with the food and service. We went in the gap between two plays and were served very quickly. Really enjoyed the food (masala dosa, matter paneer and vegetable pilau) and would definitely go again. Very reasonably priced :)
T.
Good place for a vegetarian indian food.
W. T.
I've known them for ages. They have gotten better. Latest menu clearly identifies a lot of vegan options. The food quality of what i ate was really delicate and experienced.
A. B.
The food at Sagar is gorgeous and the prices extremely cheap, especially for London! Whenever I visit London I always eat at Sager. The staff are friendly and helpful and, as I say, the food is delicious.
Their dosas are large and very tasty - some of the best dosas I have ever eaten. The menu is large and I have never been disappointed when eating there
N. K. (.
Went for lunch with work colleagues. Was okay for first time having a dosa. The food was for vegetarians so didn't have a problem with going with people with special diets. It was kind of feeling but probably not worth the price with service charge. It worth a one off, to say been there done that.
C. H.
Brilliant, cheap, vegetarian food in central London- there are several Sagar's but all are oasis of calm, perfect service and quiet tables. The prices remain low and the quality and size of the south indian dishes high. A fantastic lunch spot.
N. S.
Good veg food... Rasam Vada delicious, hope they served it with extra Rasam. Mango juice and lassie was tempting for more, overall good food. Some should consider to smile and serve always...
P. G.
Finally! Authentic south indian food in the heart of london. Having had to travel to middlesex to get some good masasla dosa was always a pain, and now its here! They're not as cheap as traditional dosa places as in wembley and harrow, but i would say its pretty cheap for its location and taste. Dont expect silver service, the staff and extremely laid back, but its an easy compromise for the quality of food!
k. h.
It was lovely
Tasty food. No layer of oil like your ordinary Indian restraunt.
Staff was attentive.
Would definitely go again as a vegetarian I was impressed by the flavours and enjoyable texture.
R. T.
Awesome South Indian food. Great service and perfect location. A bit pricier than they were but still worth a visit.
E. W.
Came here with another meat eating friend and a veggie. We were all very happy with our meals. The veggie was overwhelmed with choice and the remaining two of us loved the wide range of flavoura and textures on offer. The mutter paneer in particular is delicious. Chapatis are perfect for soaking up sauce and the lemon rice is the right amount of buttery yet acidic. Pudding is also a must. The gulab jamon were so soft and spongy and the syrup full of cardamom. I'd recommend samosa to start followed by a thali. Don't miss out in pudding either. Enjoy!
P. J.
Very nice. Rare to have a pure vegetarian Indian restaurant. Nice menu and good quality taste.
J. F.
Pleasant staff. Menus clearly marked with allergen information (not vegan marked but says if it has milk ect). The food was very tasty and at fair price. I would definitely eat here again
Y. R.
Amazing Indian food with a lot of vegan options.
R. V.
simple veg food. ok. they could do better serving fresh in house indian breads and vegetables. everything seems ready made and served after heating. we had north indian food today
R. U.
Ordered a takeaway yesterday and had Mysore dosa. The food was ready within 4 minutes. The food itself was a little disappointing because it lacked in spice and flavour. Also, strangely i did not get any coconut chutney with it. I don't know if it is supposed to be without the chutney but that seems strange.
S. R.
I've been for lunch a few times and it's always been very good - it's worth ordering the paper masala dosa, which is always good and crispy and takes up a crazy amount of room on the table.
Curry-wise, the brinjal bhaji, motor paneer and saag paneers are absolute winners. I found the bhutara a little greasy as an accompaniment to the curries, but it's a fried bread so not totally unexpected. The salt lassi comes with a good dose of jeera on it, which is very welcome.
Decor is very simple, maybe a little tired, but it's a good lunch spot. Fair pricing for Convent Garden too - two mains and drinks come in at around £15 a head.
e.
Great South Indian food at a reasonable price in central London
a. f.
Excellent vegetarian food - super tasty and so refreshingly different compared to normal vegetarian offerings. Really exciting menu selection - be adventurous in what you choose! Fast service and friendly staff.
J. P.
Pleasant, very speedy & pretty tasty veggie/vegan fare with a good selection of dishes.
We ordered dosas which were decent.
L. T.
I really love this spot! I went to London twice this month for work and made sure to go back! Chili paneer app and Masala dosa were incredible!
S. H.
The best thali I've had outside of India/Sri Lanka! Reasonably priced, authentic and lovely staff who are happy to give recommendations.
R. B. S.
Taste is awesome but the cost is too much. £18 for a South Indian lunch, with limited rasam and other items. Harrow (rathigas, £6.5, Wembley Saravana Bhavan - £9) also gives the same taste. Don't c
K. R.
sagar is a chain of vegetarian restaurants that serves south indian cuisine. I went to the one in covent garden for a late lunch. the menu is vast with a lot of dishes I hadn’t seen before and also some that I hadn’t seen since being in india.
there are a lot of vegan options on the menu which is fantastic. sagar also list on their menus nut free, garlic + onion free and wheat free options. we had the bhindi bhajee which is okra cooked in fresh tomato with home blended south indian spice and also the brinjal bhajee which is aubergine cooked in fresh tomato, red + green capsicums with home blended south indian spices. I think curries are so flavoursome that I usually always opt for boiled basmati rice to have it with. we also had a salt lassi which is a chilled creamy yoghurt & milk drink.
inside the restaurant is some lovely wall decor, but other than that it’s quite simple. the service was good and the waiter asked to see if I needed to know the vegan options. the food came out quite quickly and was served in beautiful copper dishes. sagar would be great for a group or just with a friend.
m. s.
I've been going here for years. Yes, the decor is tired, but the food is super. Try the tasty dosas, which are very generously sized, and the street food snacks, such as bhel puris. All vegetarian and reasonably priced for the centre of town. Plus the usual selection of thalis and side dishes too.
D. P.
Amazing food, friendly staff, 100% would go again.
G. P.
Really delicious food. A wonderful South Indian feast of flavorful dishes many of which I’ve never heard of before. I have been twice now and will return again.
J. O.
Good place for vegetarian curry. We went at lunch and it wasnt that busy. It picked up later once we nearly finished. The servers were waiting around alot. Food is served quite quickly.
J. S.
Lovely south Indian food. The dosa's are amazing but the real winner was the vegetable samosa. If all vegetarian food was that nice in would give up meat tomorrow.
A. J.
The food is reasonably good, not the best south Indian around, but good enough. Comfortable ambience. They offer to make everything vegan, which is handy.
L. W.
The food is great, but the service is confused on occasion. You might book a table but that's no guarantee you'll be expected! Push a little harder if you don't get what you thought you were going to get. It's good food so it's worth a visit.
R. M.
Yum! Very nice, and friendly. Good food, especially because you can order from the onion and garlic free menu. Which is perfect if you happen to be allergic to garlic. :D
V. S.
I want to love this place so much, the lunchbox special (about 6 quid) is always delicious and varied, but I've just had consistently bad, unfriendly service. I do love that the food is all vegetarian, and your order comes out quickly.
L. T.
Amazing South Indian food. Delicious vegetarian meals with a really diverse menu. Very high quality and friendly helpful staff.
j. b.
My missus keeps dragging me to these fancy vegetarian places. Wouldn't even get the idea if I was out with my mates. But have to admit, the food is damn good, so I won't moan. I'm not a fancy geezer, but fills up my gut just good.
p. h.
Great food and the staff are really helpful and friendly. We went as a large group and they could accommodate us easily and were even able to assist with someone with gluten allergies
K. S. B.
My fav place for dosa's. But not only dosa's, sagars wide range of food is superb. I absolutely love their dishes. Being indian myself, I know what indian food should taste like & this is great indian food. Friendly staff and quick service too. Food is always hot great cosy restaurant with a good vibe
J. A.
Really happy to find this gem of a restrunt. So great for people who have a garlic and onion intolerance. Perfect service and I can't wait till my next visit! 5 stars all the way!
H. I.
Fantastic food. Vast choice for vegans and they also have vegan wine. Friendly staff and good service. But get really busy before theater time!
B. A.
This is near authentic simple Indian food in Covent Garden. You can go to many other posher Indian restaurants around but this beats them all on plain simple true food.
Try the variations of Uthappa and the dosas!! Lovely stuff.
J. W.
Food was okay but not amazing. Service was not that fast, it’s understandable as it was super busy when we went. But the place is way too loud, no way to have a proper conversation without shouting and staff were rude...
K. E.
Lovely authentic Indian food. Was busy but still fast service. One of the waiters didn't look very happy but still was grand!
S. F.
Can be a bit inconsistent in terms of quality but generally the food is good with great Dosas. Pretty inexpensive for the area (with the exception of the Thalis which are pricey).
D. G.
Ok food for more than average price. I must say there are better options of rundown food in this area. But if you crave South Indian and don’t want to walk, this place is can prove to be alright.
S. K.
Awesome south Indian food!
S. M.
Good and tasty vegetarian food. Had a good mix of South and North Indian food. Staff are very friendly. Would go there again.
J. H.
South Indian vegetarian restaurant, doing all the specialities you'd expect, like paper dosas, and so on. Slightly smarter than the places on Drummond Street. I think I still prefer Woodlands but this isn't a bad runner up.
B. H.
Loved the whole experience, our waiter was lovely and the vegan wine and thali was great! Couldn't finish it though - recommend sharing! 10/10
S. B.
Delicious thali combo- was pleasantly surprised with the number of dishes in it, large variety in the menu. Bit on the pricey side, the ambience rather simple.
H. S.
Absolutely delicious food and very friendly staff
S. P.
Very tasty food, clean but spartan. No sambhar vada, disappointed enough to take away one star. Otherwise excellent service and decent variety of dishes on offer
S. L.
It's delicious!! So good I forgot to take a photo. Really recommend Rasa vada as a starter 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻not too expensive for this area as well. Will definitely come back again.
A. C.
Very noisy and also expensive. Plus, we were badly served. I ordered a glass of tap water that came together at the end with the bill, which charged me 10% extra. I just payed and will never go back, even though the food is delicious.
L. W.
The food is great, but the service is confused on occasion. You might book a table but that's no guarantee you'll be expected! Push a little harder if you don't get what you thought you were going to get. It's good food so it's worth a visit.
K. R.
Best indian vegetarian food
D. P.
For South Indian food only amazing place.
J. S.
Lovely south Indian food. The dosa's are amazing but the real winner was the vegetable samosa. If all vegetarian food was that nice in would give up meat tomorrow.
J. A.
Love the okra curry. Great flat breads too
A. S.
Gets busy at 18:30 as theatre goers use it. Food is good and portions plentiful. Mid price for 2 courses, a drink of beer was quite expensive.
L. B.
Very nice South Indian, vegetarian food. Their Mysore masala dosa should not be missed! Proximity to all the west end shows makes this location doubly desirable!!
E. B.
Fast and friendly service, incredible food, can't wait to come back.
T. H.
Really good vegetarian food and service, the staff are friendly too! Went back there a couple of times.
W. L.
Food is great.. service was weird. The guy who served us wouldn't recommend anything except for the most expensive set meal... get a recommendation on food choice before going
S. 7.
The food was excellent and good value for money. However the service was slow and unfriendly. They gave our drinks and starters to the wrong table.
d. a.
Authentic South Indian food prepared by a chef from Udupi(coastal part of South India). Rasam vada was amazing so is Dosa.
a. a.
Super delish Dosa and Chana Masala with a nice glass of rosé mmmmm! Friendly, polite waiters and good ambiance.
B. v. S.
Authentic vegetarian cuisine, lunch much cheaper than dinner (ask for lunch special, not on the menu, 7 or 8 pounds) but still affordable.
S. W.
Fantastic vegetarian food. Very low key, prefer this to many more posh Indian restaurants
D. B.
Not an 'upscale' experience but at least you can be sure that the food is vegan. Probably 20% more expensive than it should be.
V. J.
If you wanna eat good Indian food in London this is the place to go. It has amazing Dosa. Chhole bhature is awesome.
P. S.
Very nice, authentic South Indian restaurant, highly recommended of you would like to taste South Indian recipes
g. j.
The awesome place for vegetarian food in London's covent garden area. Love the simplicity and no nonsense menu. Keep up guys.
S. T.
Delicious food, excellent value, great for vegan options, friendly service and lovely unhurried vibe in the spacious upstairs dining room.
M. F.
Really good vegetarian Indian food. The service was great and it was very Central to the theater district in London.
C. B.
Excellent vegetarian food, separate vegan menu available.
The best chana masala I've had in London.
J. T.
Excellent. Still my 'go to' place in London. Totally fantastic food, catering for Wheat Free and Vegan. 5 stars!
o. p.
I have been going to the Sagar in Hammersmith for many years and absolutely love it.
Sadly the Cover Garden branch was disappointing, not so much the food but rather the service.
D. D.
very tasty and reasonably priced. the dosa was excellent, the people sitting next to us managed to order one as big as their table!
H. P.
Lovely food, only downside some tables are too close which made it difficult to get in and out of our table.
N. M.
Good south Indian food option although taste needs improvement.Bit pricey. Very polite and courteous staff.
M. S.
A while ago I would have given the Sagar 5 stars but it's lost its value for money.... a good vegetarian set meal...but not for £17.00
N. K.
Rassam is just tooooo good !!
Very authentic south indian food !!
If in London and missing those dosa/uttapams/idlis, make sure you visit this place
S. B.
Just eaten off the vegan menu, absolutely delicious! Reasonably priced, clean, friendly, lots of choice - we are leaving as happy and full customers :-)
p. s.
I love it hear ,light but tasty food .
F. L.
The food here is very hit and miss. It is sometimes good and other times it is awful. Staff are welcoming and polite.
S. M.
Good vegetarian Indian udipi food and friendly staff! Tad bit oily for regular lunch hence the 4 star rating.
l. b.
The food is bland especially the channa massal. Meal cost 35 and we only had 3 dishes. The service is abrupt to. I really wouldn't recommend this place and
m. S.
A welcome restaurant for Vegans....there are 3 Sagars...the best is in w1t ( Percy Street ).
Please make the effort to support the Sagar """chain""" they are committed to their
customers and the cause...
L. K.
Me and My really appreciated the food. I had pizza made of lentils and my wife had panncake made of lentils. Both dishes were really good.
L. W.
Nice selection of vegetarian and vegan food, though I have had better spiced Indian food at other establishments
S.
Very fast service and nice food.
Normal price for prime location.
Can get really busy when there's a show on at the opposite theatre.
L. B.
Great vegetarian Indian food and good for vegans too! Friendly and welcoming staff and have been going for years.
M. B.
The Sagar special dosa was very delicious, everything else was good that we tried. It's worth a stop for sure.
R.
Good value for money and what was perceived as a full meal even for me being a full time carnivore. The Thali lunch special was wonderful.
s. s.
Liked the north Indian Thali i ordered. Quite good food for the price you pay.
S. H.
Unreal vegan food and great staff!!
M. L.
Great food , real southern Indian flavours and Farouk looked after us well. Great pre theatre venue.
A. V.
Good and authentic South Indian food!! Pleasant staff and good service... will definitely visit this place again..
A. W.
Really enjoyed lunch here - mango lassi and special veg dosa (quite spicey) were very good.
S. E.
My favourite restaurant in central London. Always very accommodating and the vegan thali is out of this world.
D. A. D.
I wasn't very pleased with the place, the food and the staff.
It's your usual run-of-the-mill kind of restaurant !
A. T.
Always good and tasty! Polite staff, and reasonably priced.
They can cater for large groups too!
a. t.
Service a bit slow. I loved the masala dosa that I ordered but the sambhar and chutney weren't up to the mark.
V. 2.
Great food, super quick service, friendly staff, a great little find. Vegan friendly too.
D. D.
Delicious south Indian food, but they get very busy, so book ahead and be prepared for a bit of a wait.
S. S.
Delicious food, excellent customer service and is open till late. Such a low price for the quality.
Thank you
G. M.
Very yummy Indian vegetarian dishes, including dosas. Waiter was a little impatient, but excellent service apart from that!
s. N.
Really good india food, the price is amazing! Especially for those who work in the area!
l. f.
Great flavours and very good value...
L. O.
Love it. Very tasty food and highly recommended. Can't wait to go there again.
E. S.
Although I'm not vegetarian, greatly enjoyed all the food. Especially recommend: Bhajia, Paper Paneer Dosa, Batura, Brinjal Bhajee (contains eggplant), Saag Paneer.
U. B.
Great food good valve, excellent dosa as they mill their own rice flour. Highly recommend.
V. D.
Excellent food and dosa, idly and Wada very delicious and super service everyone should give a try once.
W. R.
Really nice dishes and very reasonably priced for its location. Service was a bit erratic but efficient nonetheless.
J. W.
Vegetarian Indian food with many vegan options which are not marked separately but it has an allergen list with shows with items have milk in them . The prices are not cheap but hey, you are in London !
A. K. A.
Too noisy.
Expensive.
Food is not fresh.
Probably they use ready-made flour for their dishes.
B. S.
Authentic udupi restaurant !!! Loved the food
D. L.
Delicious food, good portion sizes, recommend it! Bit drafty seating near entrance, probably a good thing in warm weather.
M. S.
Tried south Indian food...Can be better...but no complaints...They have veg Thali too..
M. A. P.
One of the good Indian vegetarian restaurant in London. Food served is good.
S. H.
Simple but tasty dosa and assorted thali. It's inexpensive here, but the service was somewhat muddled and grumpy.
n. b.
Honest Vegan and vegetarian food in heart of London priced very well. Good service and tasty food.
K. S.
The food was good, tables were a bit squashed. It was empty and I made a request of adding an extra table but I was denied. The service was fast.
C. R.
Not the place if you are after good authentic north Indian food. Chat and South Indian options were good
S.
Lovely food, definitely coming again!
S. G. P. (.
This place was ok. The food served was not hot. Even the supposedly fresh dosa was cold. The food was tasty.
D. L.
Delicious food, decent service. Slightly crowded due to central London location.
K. N.
Excellent Indian food! Felt like eating in a South Indian restaurant in Mumbai. Go for Mysore masala dosa.
J. M.
Good food and good service. Clean and following covid guidance.
J. M.
It is good and not so expensive. The Masala Dosa is great, the Thali during the week on lunch is an amazing deal.
