Reviews of Saravanaa Bhavan East Ham
D. K.
The place has still got it! First time visiting after quite a few years and it was bustling for a late Tuesday evening, suffice to say the quality hasn't deteriorated, I would actually say it's kind of improved even. I had the North Indian thali, each dish had its own unique flavours, we did request it to be extra spicy and they did not disappoint. A lot on offer in this bargain meal, I felt guilty not finishing such delicious food.
A. H. M.
Saravana Bhavan is best for south Indian food. This restaurant is spacious. However, I had to wait for 5 min in queue to get the table. Staff is courteous and service is very fast. It's a vegetarian restaurant.
Highly recommend to try Dosa (Specially ghee dosa), Idly Vada Sambar and Coffee.
A. V.
Great food! Love it every time. The Dosas, chutneys and Sambhar is so tasty! The South Indian and North Indian Thalia’s were delicious.
D. S.
Food was as usual good and tasty. Even though the paneer makhni was a bit salty.
j. F.
My favourite South Indian restaurant since my days of working in Chennai…visit this place almost every week….authentic south Indian dishes….absolutely fabulous. Gone off their coffee as I find it a bit too milky but the food is amazing.
Packed at weekends so be ready to wait for a table…but well worth the wait
M. K.
My usual breakfast spot. It can get quite busy during the peak times and you’d probably have to queue outside but it’s worth the wait. Prices are reasonable.
F. S. J.
Great place to have original Indian veg delicacies. Pure veg and clean food. Staff is friendly and food not overpriced.
B. R.
Incredible food. Tastes like home for me. As a uni student during covid I haven't been able to go back to my roots. But the flavours and authenticity here's is phenomenal! I took my friends here, who can't necessarily handle spice but were pleasantly surprised by the perfect balance of flavours in all the dishes, although the Manchurian does come off much stronger than expected. The Malawi kofta on the other hand was the best dish we tried there, 100% recommend!
P. k. R.
Over hype but taste is not good. Highly not recommended during busy hours. They dont serve properly.
A. G.
Overall is nice restaurant customer service is good. Nice and friendly staff .mini idol was nice , dosa was ice cold.
South Indian thali is ok too much oil it’s was literally dripping.
t. s.
It’s an excellent place to have a good dinner though it is very crowded feels like a warm place.Catchy point sweets are nice and there is a telugu girl who is handling customers in a polite way and excellent service by her.Very impressed.
D. S.
I tasted both north and south indian meals
Both are good
South Indian meals are unlimited
Where as north indian thali is limited but sufficient
D. M. V. N.
Excellent vegetarian food. Great service. A must if you like real Indian food.
P. L.
My first visit. Went because of the good reviews. I wasn't disappointed. I had the South Asian Tali. It was lovely and tasty and varied and plentiful. The staff were lovely and helpful and attentive. The restaurant is spacious and clean and has a very good hygiene rating. I will return. Thank you
S. A. T.
They do the best quality food as they do elsewhere in South of India. Same native taste and the beat place to dine and can’t avoid whenever I visit London!! Recommend for anyone to taste the best vegetarian Indian foods.
R. R.
Favourite veggie restaurant! Always get the thali its so amazing
A. S.
Classic South Indian food. Delicious food full of flavour. Comfortable interior and very good service. Highly recommended.
R. T.
If you’re from South India, you would know about Saravanaa Bhavan.
But keep your hopes a little low. You would love the food if you’re craving for South Indian food and may also find it very near to how it tastes back in India but they can definitely improve.
Pros:
- You will find most of the South Indian dishes here.
Cons:
- Too crowded at peak times and may take around 15-20 to get a table. May take a bit longer if you’re more than 5 members.
- A bit pricy.
- Long wait times depending on what you ordered.

Good South Indian affair. Taste is authentic. Dosas are great. Service is quick and excellent. The place was very busy when we visited, but tables are always available after a short wait.
P. L. V. P.
East Ham branch having excellent staff to understand customer need and will serve the food..
No need to give any comment on taste of the food.... I went 6 times in 7 months duration every time it is same in taste and maintaining quality standards.
s. a.
East London one of the best veggies restaurants Taste 100% service 90% overall to good thanks saravanaa bhavan east ham served nice South Indian food
R. S.
Must visit. Authentic and pocket friendly.
Update: Still the taste is same top notch. However there was a drastic improvement in service. That was really unbelievable and did not totally expect from this chain. I was pleasantly surprised with the service. Earlier I would visit just for food but now I can count on their service too.
Not sure what changed in past few months but they are definitely in correct direction.
b. m.
Good service and best place to have South indian dosas. They have quite a lot of dosa varities and you will not miss India once you eat there
A. A.
Nice experience. Food was good and tasty. Staff was friendly.pure vegetarian restaurant . Great food with price.Delicious cheese dosa and sambher.
F. C.
Wow! Best place for good south indian food
M. K.
Great comfort food, Friendly staff and Signature Sarvana Bhavan service. Worth the trip to East Ham.
TIP: Follow up with a stop at the Desi grocery story
V. S.
Courteous staff, clean tables/floor and decent ambience. Though the North Indian thali was not so authentic in terms of taste, it is a must try as its well balanced in spices and oil. The ghee in the soup made it really delicious, I had never even thought of adding ghee to the soup and if it would even taste so good. Moreover, the ghee was the real Indian cow ghee. The Gulab Jamun was fresh and soft. Filter coffee is the all time winner and I felt like being back in Chennai as the taste was so original. They are trying their best to maintain standards per their Indian chains. Will definitely visit again and have North Indian thali, Poori/Dosas and of course filter coffee.
N. P.
I've not been here for a long time so visited last week. The food is really nice. The only unfortunate issue for us is most dishes contain nuts. Even dishes that I wouldn't usually expect to use nuts contained nuts. The difficulty dishes that contained nuts weren't labelled on the main menu. The staff brought a book with a list of all allergens in every dish. This was really helpful but the dishes without nuts were very limited. If you have a nut allergy, there aren't that many options for you. No nut allergy? Happy days. The food is lovely.
H. P.
Yesterday we came to east ham and this restaurant it has good and nice environment. The food was also delicious and the service girl was also kind and friendly . I enjoyed the overall experience. Sowmya keep going in your attitude it was awesome .
C. S.
Delicious South Indian food, comfortable interiors and friendly service. The Sambar Vada was a particular highlight!
C. S.
Good authentic South Indian Vegetarian restaurant. The Dosa's, puri's, and other varieties of food served are very much recommended. Very clean and friendly service.
R. N.
This is easily the best South Indian restaurant In London, possibly the UK. The food is just as good as what you get in Madras but what makes this place really special is the quality of service. The food arrives promptly and the manager Muthu is always there to supervise the dining experience. It's simply the best.
S. L.
Nice place to have a quick Indian Breakfast and some traditional Indian meals!
S. R.
Not Giving a Negative or positive feedback. I had visited here on Sunday. The place looked full. So, provided my details at the designated place and waited outside. I kept waiting for about 45 minutes and then left. So, since I didn't have anything. A neutral feedback. A suggestion to anyone reading though ... Please plan to go early on weekends or book a table before if possible. Else, please go on weekdays.
P. D. V.
Amazing south Indian food. Must try idli, masala dosa, poori bhaji, real mango juice. Tasted good food after a long time. Didn't like the tea or coffee. Others don't taste that great. Express service but do order your tea/coffee or else you will end up drinking before you even start eating! Otherwise good place to visit.
R. V.
Good Food, unfortunately in peak times - services get disturbed / delayed - since home delivery takes toll on customers sitting in the premises.
Pongal should be extended upto 2.00 pm.
M. B.
Overall food is too good. Specially South indian. Service also good. Had really bad experience when ordered kadhai paneer online. It was too spicy that even the one who loves spicy food couldn't eat happily. After eating smoke was coming from ear, mouth and everywhere and result of this tissue catched fire in the morning.
U. K.
A very good option especially if you want to try vegetarian dishes. In the evenings there could be a small wait time if there is a large group. If you are visiting the Eastham area, this is highly recommended. There is also a traditional Indian sweet counter. The kaji barfi and rasamalai are good.
L.
I thoroughly enjoyed this place. I didn’t expect to as it’s in the middle of quite a busy area amongst many other similar restaurants but I can say I was surprised at it. Service was relatively quick and the dish I had was really tasty. I was taken aback by the size of the dishes but it was gone instantly! During lunch it can get quite busy but other than that, much loved. I would come back again.
S. O.
Delicious food, I had visited with my friends and they all loved it as well. Must try are their vada, Dosa, Kaima Idly. Ghee pongal is only available on weekends, unfortunately we couldn't taste this dish. Hopefully next time ;)
s. a.
Food is fully hygiene and tasty. Good service and cleanliness. The only think i want to be improved is i have to wait so long for my order.
Apart from that everything is very good.
E. w. K.
There is something about going to East Ham. It brings me back to my trips in South India. Where you’ll find the authentic taste and some places you can actually eat meals less than a fiver! I am more of a authentic food lover than going to fancy restaurants and paying triple the amount and lesser quantity.
This restaurant in particular is the most famous one- they have more than 80 branches all over the world , so don’t be surprised if you have to wait for half an hour to be seated.
But the service is good. Not big on ambience but if you love Dosa, idli then you won’t regret it.
We ordered a Masala Dosa , Ghee Dosa , Idly Vada Sambar. Can you believe their huge dosas are only around £3-£4!
And we ended it with cutting Chai like a typical South Asian , cause why not?! Overall, this place i can definitely vouch for if you want affordable, authentic South Indian food
V. P.
A few dishes are unbelievably good and a few are unbelievably made in unexpected ways and unfortunately they turned out to bad in taste. Veg manchuria tastes excellent (compared so many other restaurants) but very very small portion for the price.
A. G.
Good simple food! South Indian options are great.
Chai had more milk..
Customer service was excellent
Prices are very reasonable.
m. p.
We always come here to dine in as I’m Asian and my missus and family is European and they love our country dishes and food from back home especially the dosa and roti etc great quick service and vegetarian dishes prices are normal but DOUBLE check receipt as sometimes they mistakenly add orders you didn’t order before paying
M. R.
Perfect south Indian taste. Every dish was tasty. It is affordable and less price compared to other shops in Eastham. It is well maintained and clean. Ambience is simple and good. Restrooms are also maintained well. They have the sitting area in basement and ground floor. Server was friendly and helpful. Every dish was served with multiple chutneys and sambar.
If you want to experience CHENNAI in London please visit here. You will love it. You can go with family. I loved my first experience with Saravanan Bhavan. Keep up the good work guys.
S.
This place is always top quality with delicious food and brilliant prices.
I will always go back again and again
F. A.
This is the real deal! The authentic flavours take me back to my trip to Chennai, India.
Consistently high quality food, generous portions and reasonable prices.
We can highly recommend the masla dosa, chili paneer and idlis. But everything on the menu is great.
R. N.
Lovely dining experience, authentic south Indian food, quick and polite service
A. R.
We ate before at the Cranbrook Road one, but we tried the East Ham branch recently too. Amazing food, very clean, the staff was very polite and quick in serving us. Definitely recommend 👌
K. D.
Delicious food, prompt service, and great prices! Saravana Bhavan is our family’s go to place for Vegetarian Indian cuisine. We were two families and visited today afternoon. The place is quite busy but we were able to get a table for nine in about 15-20 mins. The kids wanted dosa and we tried the North Indian thali. The paper masala dosa is my sons favourite. First time trying the North Indian thali - I can say I am impressed with the choices of North Indian curries served with biryani, raitha, poppadum and salad. We opted for pooris instead. the staff is very hardworking and efficient, they are always cheerful and promptly respond to your requests. This is one place that we never get tired of visiting.
S. J.
I hadn't been to this brach in years, it's completely changed its decor beyond recognition, I liked it.
I had the masala dosa here and it was tasty with the side chutneys and sambar. The only thing I found was once the dishes were collected the staff expected us to leave, after which time we ordered dessert and coffee so we could sit and chat longer.
S. S.
Since the owner requested a feedback, here's some more details -
I ordered takeaway recently of 14 mini ghee idlees, medu wada plate and a plain dosa and the food tasted delicious and authentic, especially the two coconut chutneys and the sambar was perfect. It was busy even at 11.30 am morning on a weekday, with lots of dine-in as well as takeaway customers, hence I had to wait for more than 20 min for the order. That is the only reason for taking away 1 star.
A. K.
Good Indian vegetarian food!
S. M.
Very friendly staff providing a safe and comfortable experience post lockdown. Food was delicious and reasonably priced with very good portion sizes. Will definitely be returning
V. D.
Highly recommended for Home food lover's ..homely .#homely service..#yummy#affordable
R. A.
Authentic south Indian taste and really good service. Loved the dosa's , Chole Bature, lassi and all other items we had. The cost was also reasonable and service was really good and prompt.
Only reason to give 4 stars is the chinese and paneer 65 which was not up to the mark.. the manchurian balls were soggy and onion was still raw, paneer 65 is nothing else but paneer cubes dipped in gram flour and fried.
R. N.
I love this place. We only started to go out for a month but today was our 4th visit. Love the service the food and all the staff members are so friendly. Highly recommend it. 🙌🙌
c. s.
Good very good i liked it too hot though very spicy the thali south indian is a rip off just lentils at different levels of spice all you can eat if you can get hold of one of the staff whom are constantly running past you north thali much better dosa amazing must try it. The staff are nice and polite good place to eat i am not a vegetarian here you won't miss the meat more restaurants like this we can all live a healthier more environmental friendly life .
T. A.
Good. But can't compare the taste of Masala dosa and sambar vada that we get in Kerala and Tamilnadu.
D. V.
The best place to eat South Indian. .Mouth watering dishes!!!They have not piled up a lot of Diwali sweets too!Must Visit!!
N. K.
Even though it was busy for a Saturday late afternoon, I was served promptly and food was good.
M. N.
Food was amazing !! The Saravana Bhavan standard ! Bit crowded over weekend and might have to wait long to get a table ..there are plenty of India restaurant in the area so if you want to go for a South Indian food brand this is the best place to go !
D. O.
Tasty and spicy south Indian vegetarian food can be experienced here. Dosa and idly varieties are too good. North Indian varieties are so good here. Main problem here is the crowd and staffs are unable to manage the crowd during peak hours.
Very near to bus stop and short walk from tube station. They do not serve alcoholic drinks and average price is 10 GBP per person.
J. H.
Great food but please make more dishes vegan friendly. Specifically it would be good to have a vegan thali meal available.
P. R.
Great taste - as South Indian as it gets in this part of the world - and the spice level of all side dishes is just right! The price is very reasonable as well, considering this is close to central London (and for the quality of food served). Worth a visit for sure!
I.
Good food, good service. I went there after long time and I find the standard is same.
Little cleanliness is needed.
K. W.
Best place to eat an authentic dosa in London. Delicious, fresh food, super friendly staff - an unforgettable experience every time!
Л. В.
Excellent food and very cheap! Better than the Leicester Square branch, this one’s authentic.
A. G.
If you have been in London for long time so that's where you can go but ppl who recently came from India they will feel food is definitely not to that level..taste is bit bland.
A. A.
The food tastes great, but the behavior of waitress named nithiya was so rude towards us.Does'nt except this from here.
P. T.
Excellent eat out for South indian foodies .Don't miss podi Dosa , Channa batura , meals..sambar and curd vada and filter coffee..simply outstanding
D. K. B.
Obviously one of the best south Indian restaurant to tastes same as back home, 100% vegetarian food, A must try when you are nearby or visiting East Ham, the staff were helpful and smiling is a big plus! They also have a banquet hall for parties!
C. B.
I personally felt the essence of Indian origin taste and this place will never feel you like away from home
A. C.
The customer service is top class although its crowded on the Christmas day, felt like south indian marriage panthi " like offering more and more as the plate gets empty".... hats off to the team......
K. V.
I have eaten plain dosa, I liked it very much eating with the given chutneys, it was really good.
Then I ordered poori, I was served with two pieces of poori with mashed potatoes but I asked for cocunut chutney which wasn't part of the dish, they served it to me, it was good eating with it.
Also I ordered for schezwan fried rice was just about spicy 🔥. Total bill costed me £14.5
The staff were cordial which I really appreciate very much.
The taste was like Indian made, I loved it. I will recommend this to anyone who wants to taste best Indian food in London.
Hope they continue serving customers like this going forward.
M. z. K.
Amazing thali and dosa impressed with portions great place to eat😄
A. N. S.
Very good and authentic south Indian food.
P. D.
Delicious as always, authentic freshly prepared South Indian food
T. V.
Well organised place. Very friendly staff. And very tasty reasonably priced quality South Indian food. I could go there and eat anytime.!!
a. g.
Over past one month I visited two outlets of Savaranaa Bhavan, Wembley and East Ham. Excellent service and great food.
J. E.
Great food experience
w. a.
Been a fan of this place for sometime. Have visited them in dubai as well. Food quality, service and ambience is too notch and same across multiple outlets and geographies. Visited this particular outlet on a Friday evening and there was a queue outside - decided to visit at a later date and time outside of the peak hours. Nevertheless, higly recommended!
p. g.
This is one of the most famous South Indian vegetarian restaurants in London. This branch in East ham is always busy. They have refurbished the place over the lockdown and it looks lovely now. They have seating on 2 levels. The food is normally nice. I was a little disappointed with the Chana Masala as I didn't find this authentic. However their food is generally very highly rated. One negative point with the refurb is that the washroom and toilets are downstairs and so would not be suitable for those who can't use stairs.
P. J. A.
Food here is really tasty, Could feel that you are in Tamil Nadu.
P. P.
I love this place. Pure veg and the taste is just too good to describe.
C. S.
The best place for South indian food anywhere in London. I live in West London but I take my mates here simply because we get the best service from Muthu, the manager.
S. T.
Food is really taste like India. As I am fan of spicy food, this is the place where you can get varieties of South Indian dishes with lot of diff. chutneys. You will really not miss India food if you visit this place....
A. M.
Great place and fast service. We did have to wait outside for 10 minutes because it was peak lunch time. But once in everything is very quick and food reaches very quick too! The food and drinks were all great. Would highly recommend
A. S.
I really love this place so much, whenever me and my family think to have South Indian food always go back to Saravanaa Bhavan.I really appreciate their service, staffs are so friendly and found the cleanliness was excellent. Food were so delicious and also served hot and fresh. I am really really so happy to have such restaurant near by me.
A. S.
Sarvana bhavan east ham never disappoint on flavours. I wish Croydon branch learn the difference between flavour and heat from them.
K. A.
Great variety of dosas. Excellent customer service, love the masala tea and cheese and mushroom dosa.
T. M.
Nice place for dine in. Variety of veg. Dishes. Lovely food
P. M.
Amazing food, friendly staff and atmosphere but most of quality food for a reasonable price. I would love the green chutney to be abit more spicier. Over amazing vegetarian food.
H. T.
Authentic south Indian cuisine and ambience. Must visit if you find yourself in the east side of the city. Much better than its Leicester Square branch
G. V.
Excellent south indian restaurant. Conveniently located. The dosas and curries are very south indian. They also have some combination recipes which are great too. Not very expensive. They also make good south indian coffee. I would visit again.
J. B.
It’s my favourite south Indian restaurant in London. Cheap prices, super tasty food. Love it

People are friendly enough. Always busy. I wouldn't say cheap as its £5ish for 2 porotta and 2 curry that comes with it.
Alwyas a good place for south indian food.
Contcaless payment are available
Parking isn't available too close unless its weekend and out of of busy hours
V. C.

T. A.
Excellent food. Well spaced out tables. Good service. Covid Compliant
T. B. N.
Always enjoy traditional South Indian food here.
R. J.
Good service and food. If it is busy you may be expected to vacate after eating if there with company as customers queue at the door at these times.
A. T.
Loved this restaurant, service was quick and food was delicious. The dishes are very reasonable.wr will visit the place again and again.
P. S.
Excellent experience. Staff were wearing face mask. Seating arrangement is appropriate as per covid policy.

Definitely visiting again very soon

Excellent South India Vegetarian Foods. Very apt for Vegans also.
M. A.
In weekend busy in sitting lunch take away can be easy it takes 10-15 min for food price always expensive
u. u.
South Indian meals very great taste....especially curd taste
F. D.
Always excellent tasty authentic food. Never had a bad meal. We've just moved away from the area but order takeout still and it's still just as delicious when delivered.
S. M.
A great place to try out some tasty "South Indian" cuisine. Dosas chole bhature are the most reliable diahes at this place according to me. Trying out indian desserts like kulfi is a very good option here.
k. G.
Excellent ambiance and clean place. Menu has laods of options with Great prices. The food is amazing. Overall the best place to eat in eastham undoubtly. Staff are well mannered and very caring bringing you all sorts of chutneys and sambars in between and wont let you run out of these. The toilets are in basement and very clean. Must go place

Good service and good food , Today I had a ghee dhosha it’s really wonderful and delicious, I feel like I went to my country thank you saravana bhavan especially “Mahroof”for the amazing service
M. M.
Love the food here. Tiffin items are of high quality and great taste as always!
D. G.
Had a short wait for a table on Sunday afternoon, quick service for the food. Prices have gone up over the years but still a go to place for tasty food.
M. S.
Really tasty and plenty of seats are available. Could be a long wait but good customer service by keeping you informed :)
S. C.
Ordered take away yesterday, a couple of minutes later decided to change an item and staff refused claiming that, the KOT had gone to kitchen already. It won't take a minute to walk down to the kitchen to amend an order or instruct a chef! Similar issue few weeks ago a mix up in order and the Manager was shouting at a staff member in front of the customers. Apart from that, food is always great but definitely needs some tweaking in staff training area and the two stars are left for that!
K. P.
One of the best south Indian restaurant in East Ham of London, everytime we visit Mahalakshmi temple, we make sure we pay a visit to Saravanaa Bhavan, must try Vada/Idli Sambar, Rava Dosa and Mango Lassi.
A staff named Karthik was very kind and generous, we are pleased by his hospitality.
d. p.
The taste is too good, especially rasam vada and dosas 😍😍 loved it !
U. R.
Food was tasty and delicious. Can improve in seating arrangements- too crowded in the ground floor. Could see the basement section was empty.
D. K. S. T.
Great tasty yummy authentic South Indian food. Vegetarian only price reasonable. Chutneys are the best. Kids love it l. Not too spicy, but tastes good.

Excellent place for South Indian food 👍
P. S.
Great food, clean, friendly service. Definitely recommend.
Compliments to the chef who made fluffy idlis and yummy chutney. Great dosas and ate the South Indian Thali. Thanks, Anushya for looking after us so well.

The food is amazing but I would say the service is not great as me and my husband or with family and friends has been to the restaurant couple of time now and we had the same issue. We are being rush out as soon as we sit down we cant even have a nice time or even have ur food in peace u will have the waiter or the manager coming to u and asking if u want to order anything else or have u finished your food which clearly we still have food on our plate. When we order will have from starter/ main / dessert not just main. I have been to other restaurants saravanaa Bhavan never had any issue or any other restaurants never had this experience. We go out for dinner to enjoy and feel relax not to stress and feel annoyed. IS THERE A POLICY to how much time we can stay I am pretty sure we were not that long.

My go-to restaurant every time I miss south Indian food. The fresh crispy ghee dosas are just as amazing as the ones you get back home😋. The food always leaves a lasting impression. Excellent ambience and great customer service🤩!! Appreciate the efforts taken by the staff during this testing times👏🏼👍🏼.

The restaurant was buzzing with people but were greeted and sat at the table straight away. The service was prompt, food delicious, and good size portions. Maybe the staff could be more discreet when using mobile phones during the service.
R.
They have good gobi and paneer 65, their kara dosa is good, but their kotthu (mixed veg) paratha was flavoured with garam masala, which made for a very odd taste.
The rasa vada took a long time, and the rasam wasn't that good.
Our last problem was the service. They were slow and dismissive. We also noticed them give someone else a product that the waiter made us not get.

Good quality food & taste✌🏻🤤

It's worth spending pounds over tasty food.

Good service. Tasty food

This is the best vegetarian restaurant I have been to. The customer service is really good and great value for money. Food is delicious, I'm not a veg person, portions are huge, can never finish it. It does get super busy occasionally but I've never been caught in it. Nice décor but seats and the sofa's could be updated. Toilets are clean.
D. V.
We had a great dinner here but what made the experience even better was our server @Karthik We were a large group who want to customize every dish but he very professional and pleasant and took care of everything really well. Would come here again!

Best vegetarian food.dont miss the faluda
D. J.
A great restaurant. All the vegan items were clearly labelled and the food was authentic and delicious.
Even in the current pandemic, the management did a good job of keeping the place clean. Service was formerly and food was hot and quick. Will return once I’ve burnt off 3 dosa!

When you crave for South Indian cuisine, Saravana Bhawan is your place.

Every time after going to east ham temple we treat our self to this simple but tasty vegetarian restaurant which is our all time favourite. No need to book. Just walk in and they’ll attend to you soon as they can. Also when you place the order they bring the food within 5-10 minutes. Delicious vegetarian South Indian food. Customer service is always outstanding. This is a kind place where sometimes we all want to go without any formalities and enjoy good food.

I had a great time with Saravana Bavan food yesterday night at East Ham branch. The highlighted food I really enjoyed was Special Dosa which was very delicious and taste😋 The Idly and Sambar was ultimately soft and yummy.
I wanna have another great day with my family again at Saravana Bavan.
Thankyou for your service
J. S.
The flavours of Tamil Nadu. No wonder why they are established in many countries.
y. s.
You must visit here during morning times as you get fresh sambar and chutney.
R. U.
Great fresh food been coming here for the past 5 years super quality and authentic taste every time not anglicised ;)
A. M.
Authentic South Indian preparations. Good Stuff and courteous staff.
M. Z.
Delicious! We have been to the Wembley branch many times and the food was always very tasty. Glad there is also a branch in East Ham as I love their paneer dosa and sambar vada! Thank God for take away service during the pandemic! Can’t wait to eat in too!
S. K.
Amazing indian food and excellent service. Strongly recommend
A. G.
Sarvaanaa bhavan is one of my favourite restaurant. I am in love with the South Indian food here. Also the falooda and paneer 65 must try things here. My 7 yrs old daughter is in love with paneer 65
A. R.
Not very impressed as the staffs did not recognise the item from their menu. Food was spicy (did not check with customer the level of spice needed). Too pricey as they did not charge as per their menu card. Will not go back again.
Z. S.
I was craving for Masala Dosa....the nearest Saravanaa Bhavan branch to me is the one at East Ham....I went early, so the restaurant was not busy. Customer service was brilliant....very clean overall and the food was great as always...I also ordered a masala chai 🤤
I had to take home Poori masala and chhole battura 😋
I highly recommend checking out Saravanaa Bhavan for South Indian vegetarian food 👏
n. s.
Good. Tea coffee as indian taste, really like it 😋

Food is very good, reminds me of home Chennai , staff polite and quick service. Thank you to the afternoon staff yesterday very pleasant.

Yesterday i bought a vegetable biryani and paneer fried rice.. the taste was excellent and fabulous!!! Customer service is also so friendly and in great manner. One of the best south indian restaurant that i have recently visited. If you visit eastham don’t forget to taste the food from SARAVANA BHAVAN!!!!
R. R.
Nice place to dine-in for an Indian taste. So clean and tidy. Excellent hospitality...
R. E.
We ordered chhole bhature, veg biryani, noodles and masala dosa. We liked the taste of veg biryani but portion was too small. Not enough for one person too. And rest items were not at all good. Food taste was not as per standards of Saravana bhavan
v. r.
I went to have dinner with my family. We all loved the food especially the sambar, oh I don't have words to explain the happiness and joy...
S. P.
Excellent experience of food and drinks, enjoyed our authentic food with family. Impressed with the service done by the staff( Anushya), felt really back in India.

One of my favourite restaurants in London. Amazing authentic south Indian food at Amazing prices. Staff are always friendly and service is always efficient. Have never had a bad meal here. There is also a sweets counter with a range of Indian sweets that are also incredible.
If you are looking for delicious authentic south Indian cuisine this is the place
A. J.
Freaking delicious. Vegetarian food has to hustle on flavour and this place hustles. Affordable, quick, family-friendly. Ghobi 65.

Staff were very polite and kind. .. Readily available ! We give 5/5 rating..and recommend to try here if u like South Indian cuisine😊

Aunthentic south Indian ( Tamil Nadu) food in UK
A.
Good veg restaurant and one of the better places of this franchise, will return should i visit this area of london again
B. M. G.
Very clean and comfortable atmosphere having some outclass option like Masalah Dosa. Dont get delivery as they are a bit cheeky in providing sauces when deliver and Dosa becomes soft. Good place to sit with ur family.
K. K.
Saravana Bhavan East ham branch is best place to get traditional Indian food with fabulous test and various options.
Must try south Indian dishes...... You will get amazing range of South Indian food..
This place usually very busy on weekends may need to wait but service is quick..
Don't forget to have filter coffee amazing..
All in must visit..
A. K.
Very friendly staff with a very good atmosphere. I love the fact that this restaurant is very clean...including the toilets! Our favourite are paneer 65 and the north Indian tali. The tali is very tasty with samples of lots of different dishes...including bread and a dessert...it's very filling!! Comes highly recommended.
B. K.
Lot of varieties, yummy 👨👨👧👧
Those who miss south Indian food and taste must visit here. There are variety of starters, crispy dosas, yummy gravy's are excellent.
Love the food and service, all the staff members are so friendly. Excellent customer service. Enjoyed a lot. :)

One of the finest chain of South Indian Food ever! I love them from back home in India. and its so amazing to have them in exact taste and style so many miles away from home! Very authentic and traditional.
B. K. G.
Really amazing service ☺️👍
Thank you so much 🇮🇳🇬🇧!!
A. B.
Taste of food takes you back to Chennai. Authentic. Very tasty. Generally clean however washroom could do with a bit of cleanliness/maintenance. Most outstanding is the customer service, they are very polite, efficient and simply amazing. Thank you Mr Muthuramalingam, manager, Sowndarajan, fahim khan, divya and the rest of the entire crew. Really good. Keep it up. Been here twice, definitely will be my choice of place during visits to east london.
k. w.
Amazing food, very efficient staff.. Cleanliness is 💯
Great place to have your authentic South Indian wholesome and healthy breakfast. They are very generous with the chutneys and sambar, you can refill as much as you want to.
They also have amazing lunch and dinner venue - Chinese starters are must try.
Apart from regular food, this place is heaven for anyone's sweet tooth cravings. Various options for delicious sweets made with pure desi ghee.
This place accepts reservations, also good for walk in as they have plenty of space available.
S. S.
Great Indian food for vegetarians
E. R.
Decent food and the service is not too good. They used to be good in terms of their service but these days it’s deteriorating in many ways
K. N.
Without a doubt, it's the best Indian restaurant I've been to. We have tasted many recipes and you won't be unsatisfied with a single order. I definitely recommend it and make sure you try a starter, plenty of main dishes and curries and for sure, a "topped by the experts" dessert. Enjoy!
K. K.
The food was delicious service was great and the manager was most helpful and very accommodating. I would recommend going there as i will go again.
K. R.
Best south Indian hotel as good as it ever gets. Try the Ghee Pongal, Pakodas that are exclusively available here and not in any other Saravana Bhavan locations in London.
R. c.
When in east London its the Best place to have south indian food .
K. D.
I love the food! Chefs are always on point and the food is delish! One thing I find really annoying is the FOH staff. They dont smile, they dont look at me while I am ordering... It can be a bit off-putting. I thought I would never go there without my partner who is Indian but hoorray there is a really nice waiter . He acknowledges my presence, he smiles, he is helpful and looks at me while I order. Smash. 10 out of 10 being served by him. We arrived there around 5 pm on Saturday the 16th of May. Please give him the recognition he deserves!!!! The place needs more people like him !!! It was a Take Away service but boy was he nice !!! Thank you !!!
s. h.
Delighted! That's sums up all. Really appreciate Head Chef Jayesh and team who accommodate my request ,superb food. These guys are assets of this branch.
M. P.
Food was good and it tastes similar to the other branches of Saravana bhavan. The one bad thing I don't like about their service is, they try to force you to eat soon so that the table is available for the next customer. When I went with my friend, before even he finished his food they were trying to take the plates and dishes away. That was really horrible. For food I would recommend otherwise if you want to eat leisurely then it is a big no no.
J. P.
Excellent food..service is quick and staff so friendly..my 6 year old loves this place for the mini ghee idlys and ras malai..
M. B.
Nice food for very easy price, location is close to station, great seating. We visit this place a couple of times during our visits to London. Sometimes the chutney can be very spicy and sambhar with bit more masala taste.
h. m. Y.
Lovely family restaurant serving well priced Indian vegetarian foods. Huge menu. Astounding variety. Delicious desserts. This seems like a very popular neighborhood diner straight from India, very few non Asian guests. Would definitely go back.
s. k.
Good place for South Indian vegetarian food
S. A.
Takeway food packaging is not very good, ordered Gobi65, because of the packaging it became soggy.
Dosa sauces need improvement these keep changing taste with every takeway order.
K. B.
So this place is somewhere i go regularly. I like vegetarian food and spicy food, and i find this place serves my pallet. Food is good, service good, atmosphere is very lively, always busy. Ok in terms of pricing. I always get the mushroom mauncharium and is perfect every time.
J. C.
Well organized, clean and delicious South Indian food available 👌👌
A. B. P.
Food was aweful, with excess salt. If you end up there a bit late in the day, you can feel the staff resent you. They don't deny service, which is good but they can't wait for you to leave. The food used to be good, but my last two visits were a disappointment. The Taste of India right opposite is where I frequent and I should go back the next time rather than even trying this place.
B. M.
I have been so many times to this place and not even one time they disappoint me. Every visit I get surprise to different food items. I love it. A lot of Dosa varieties on menu which never seen before in UK. One of the best restaurant in the town. Even though it’s big brand and standards remain same in all branches.
H. M.
Me and my family often come here for breakfast ordering hot idly with sambar but found that getting the waiters attention is a mission. Some stuff don't speak English very well and it is hard to communicate with them especially when you want to ask questions about dishes. But other than that food is nice, love the complimentary chutneys they offer and will most likely keep coming to eat here.
P. P.
This is our safety restaurant, great selection of south indian food!
K. G.
Everything is good about SB as we call it because it is so darn affordable. They are cheap and good South Indian food. Expect to be satiated by spending just about £7-9 per head. Only downside I would say is the oil they use sometimes gives u heart burn the next day. If you care less about that which any Indian would then it’s a regular place to dine if you wish to save some bucks.
V. S.
I love this brand. However, this place on this occasion wasn't a great experience. First of all the place was too crowded as usual & expected. It then took a little longer than usual for the food to be delivered. The starters came in as deserts. And when they were served the cauliflower in chilli cauliflower was cooked to much to become mushy! It was an average experience when compared to its Rayners Lane franchise...
A. M.
Hands down great South Indian Veg food in London. Paneer Makhani is very good
K. T.
We just had a lunch today. The service was great from Anushiya and great from the other staff as well. We are going to come back for sure!
D. K.
One of the must eat restaurants at East Ham. Forget Breakfast at Tiffanys, they should soon direct a movie called "Breakfast at Saravana Bhavan". Unbeatable taste and worth the money. When I feel sad or happy the food served here only enlightens my mood.
A. V.
Busy as usual....
Due to covid, eat in experience is bit awkward...
H. N.
Great dosa. The place looks clean and service is fast. Just came for the dosa really
N. P.
I called Saravanan Bhavan for my order for collection at 19.30 and they told me they will start making my order at 19.00 and when I went to collect it was ready and hot ready to eat at home.Excellant customer service
V. C.
Menu is updated since the last time I've been - some nice new varieties of Thosai/Dosa!
Like that they have a decent selection of Jain/no onion no garlic menu, compared to Taste of India across the road...
N. K.
Best place in East Ham for authentic south Indian vegetarian food. Recently refurbished and offers plenty of seating over two levels. The place can get quite busy during peak hours, especially on weekends and the waiting times could be long. But staff are friendly and prompt. The south Indian food is quite tasty, and they also offer some Chinese dishes like friend rice and noodles. You can also purchase Indian sweets at the counter and they are sold by weight.
G. V.
Had an amazing time here this evening. Can't appreciate enough the food and customer service. Truly appreciate the efforts they've taken during these tougher times. Will definitely be back soon.
K. V.
I have been eating at Hotel Saravana Bhavan (HSB) restaurants in Vadapalani, T.Nagar and Anna Nagar branches in Chennai since 1985... This particular restaurant in East Ham is by far the best amongst all the HSB restaurants outside India (compared to the ones in Charing Cross (London), Harrow (London), Paris, Singapore (Little India), NY and Dubai), and also the closest in terms of taste and consistent quality of the Vadapalani branches. The chef is particularly good - they do manage to source stuff for their vathal kuzhambu... And all the rest is great. Even better than the Quilon (Westminster) in some ways.
My partner from Ukraine loves the North Indian Thali, Pooris and I like the South Indian Thali.... We come here quite frequently.
This restaurant also features in the book, "What Chefs Eat", a collection of the best restaurants worldwide as rated by leading chefs.
K. S.
Really expensive for the amount of food given. But very good quality!
L. A.
A great meal and great customer service by Anushya who was really friendly and gave us lots of recommendations.
a. n.
Good unlimited south Indian thali
K. N.
Food was served quick to the table and it was as authentic as you can get in the whole UK. Some dishes like puri was not worth ordering but you can enjoy of the menu including fresh sweets like kesari etc. Finish with coffee to have an amazing breakfast.
D. j.
Very good staf and neatly maintained. With lot of crowd too staff is able to do their best .
K. R.
It is still a good place to eat however lots of administration changes so I don't feel like I have been to SB. Hats off to people who manage to stop serving alcohol in this restaurant. I remember Krupanatha varies pictures and nice veg only meal SB india.
S. N.
Please don't expect the taste and quality of their Chennai cousins 😁, but still it's a great place to go while u r at London.
Well maintained, clean restaurant and the food and coffee r too tempting.
Easily accessible and Locatable as this place is located between two famous temple's in the localiy
E. E.
Love this place, real autentic vegetarian indian cusiuine. The food is tasty, is cooked quickly, you can see your food being cooked. Staff are friendly and the place is clean. Its good for groups as well as solo dining. They also sell a variety of sweet indian treats . All for a good price. Large portions if you cant finish you can pack it to go with .
S. D.
Awesome place, place for pure vegetarian , their meals and dosa are really good. Sambar didn't met my expectations, the taste of sambar was good but due to weather it becomes very thick, if that thing is managed i would love to go again and again. Family really enjoyed the place.
M. m. r.
Place of south Indian taste. Feeling indian taste in UK. Staff is really helpful and supporting.
If you wanna taste specials you have handful of list. If you are hungry and unlimited meals is special for you.
Offcourse kids special available don't for get to check with staff in case of any questions.
Tasted same taste as chennai Saravanan bhavan, I recommend strongly to my friends.
a. j.
Place was really nice. Service was decent. Our mains came before the starters. Can never fault the quality of food tho. It was very tasty and always been at a good standard whenever I've visited.
B. R.
Still the Favourite place in U.K , The ambience and the taste of the food gives a feeling you're in India. Feel Home Far away from home!
Its obvious taste and quality of Saravana Bhavan is always better!
S. Y.
Authentic Tamil vegetarian cuisine in London. It gets very crowded on weekends though, particularly in the evenings. The place also seems understaffed with people taking orders but overstaffed with people cleaning up and serving the food. Therefore, service can be a bit slow, particularly taking orders.
S. S.
It's sort of okay, food is good from price point. But I find it a bit unhygienic . The service is fast but the place is very crowded and their sitting arrangement is cramped up. Unhygienic toilets no baby changing rooms
M. G.
If you love Indian food or you want to try more authentic flavours you won't be disappointed :) The food in this place is absolutely delicious!!! Everything we ordered was served really quickly and was incredibly tasty. This place is very popular and it gets very busy in the evenings but it's SO worth the (short) wait for the table!!
N. “. V.
Food was more than amazing this time, not sure why. Faluda is good too:-)
R. S.
Newly refurbished, looks bright and clean. Ordered filtered coffee and chilly paneer. It was awesome in taste. There is waiting period but it is worth. Pure vegetarian restaurant and has good variety. Loved the food.
P. C.
A South Indian, well established vegetarian brand, a popular chain restaurant.
In East Ham area there are loads of restaurants but this particular branch is always busy. Recently they refurbished the restaurant and appearance, atmosphere looks much better then before. Customer service, taste of food in general is excellent.
M. M.
I like food here tasty food will get vegetarian love it Ben pongal super.
a. p.
The food is amazing and the ambience is great. 😀
R. V.
Very nice ambiance and taste. Best vegetarian food of India in my experience in London. Bit expensive like other vegetarian restaurants in London.
Special recommend for South Indian tiffin's like idly vada sosa pongal etc
A. V.
Amazing experience, good service and real south indian food
s. s.
Great south Indian vegetarian food. They should do authentic sambar and thalis as they do in Chennai. Not tasty enough. Can employ better chefs do great tasty food. toilets kept clean compared to other south Indian restaurants in this area. great selection of Indian sweets and stacks
A. D.
Excellent food and memorable experience. Felt nostalgic to ate home food, thousands of miles away. Waiters are busy as a bee, still outstanding hospitality. Food was fresh and hot, especially idly with PODI was mind blowing. Next to my table, a white couple pronouncing Idly, Dosa, Appalam and sambar, as like native speaker, was proud movement and hats off 'Annachi' to bring our food this height...
s. s.
It's one of the best restaurant to taste south India food. Even though it is not as close as what you get in India. It's still worth it. The place is clean, the tenders are nice. The rates are normal and affordable.
H. I.
A good place to have typical south Indian food. Though it would not be as the same in India but yes it is worth. You will get all types of south Indian food including filter coffee. Nice and friendly staff.
A. K.
Lovely food everytime and great service. Proper authentic food which is why me and my husband have become regular customers now. Would recommend!! 🙂
N. J.
Tasty food and good service.Keep it up....!!!
S. M. I. H. S.
This is one of great South indian Restaurants in London. They provide a Very Good customer service. Foods are awesome . The best thing is you wont find too much curry leaves in dishes which makes their foods much more tasty than any other SI restaurants. Many people like ne doesn’t like too much curry leaves in a dish.
I. T.
Good food. Reasonable food portions and prices. Friendly staff. Already been there thrice all the way from Cambridge. Should open one in Cambridge thats the only suggestions i'd like them to take notice of!
a. p.
Best food I've had in ages. Good quality, no nonsense, and cheap! Authentic Indian at its best
G. T.
Food is decent. Sometimes a little bit cold and it can be difficult to speak to the staff. But it's worth a visit if you like south indian food!
S. D.
Food is served super quick..... However only highly recommended for South Indian food... Very reasonable priced dishes.... Love to visit again and again.
R. R.
Excellent south indian vegetarian restaurant with very affordable menu
E. R.
Amazing, delicious food at incredible prices. Always have a great experience here. Highly recommend the mango lassi, cocktail idly, dosas and mushroom biryani.
K. A.
This is a real South Indian restaurant where South Indians dine, in an area where lots of South Indians live. The cuisine is not watered down like in a lot of commercial restaurants, the food is served just how its supposed to be, like in India, on steal plates with steel cups etc! Lots of choice and the prices are good.
A. M. I.
Excellent, authentic Indian food. The staffs are so lovely. Their dosas are my favourite!! Great vegetarian options as well. Newly renovated restaurant. The only concern is a parking. Thanks priya for great service. Good luck
R. L.
Very good service n delicious food. The staff are very pleasant n helpful. Last night my colleague n I went after work for coffee n starters only. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Very good experience really.
P. M.
Fresh food and delicious food for vegetarian people...we should try it once atleast (you willnt stop to go again) specially south Indian cuisine
R. R. V.
I have always had lovely food and more importantly, treated well at Saravana Bhavan Eastham. Thanks to all who make a lovely place to visit.
S. Y.
Fabulous. An update on the review below. Thankfully deliveroo are delivering Saravanaa. I just ordered the South Indian Thali. Generous portion, so I have enough for lunch tomorrow.
My only gripe is that you cant customise it. For instance, I dont eat rice nor rasam or the sweet item. I would have liked to have swapped these items for more veg or sambhar.
*************
Probably the best dosa place in a street full of them. Alas, they have stoped doing takeaways. It does mean that there are no long queues.
B. N.
I've been going to the restaurant and other restaurants in East London who serve veg food. This is an excellent place sometimes you might get disappointed with the waiting times but it will be worth the wait. Pls note this is south Indian place, hence the north Indian food may not taste the same as it would taste in North India but south Indian dishes will have the same flavours as it would..
K. R.
I have visited London about 20 times over the last few years sofar and have been to this saravana bhavan on every single occasion. It reminds me of the food in india. Whilst I can feel the taste declining a little bit still the best to have authentic south india food. Would definitely recommend it. It's a shame they dont do take away anymore.
P. R.
Some visits, we do like it. But, some visits we do feel why we came here. The last visit was one such visit which made us feel why we came here. In general, the food isn't that bad but the expectation is high and sometimes they don't meet it.
a. a.
A nice restaurant for authentic south India dishes in the East London. This is located between East ham and Manor Park and is also close to ILFORD. When You walk on this road, you would feel as though you are in a south indian city with all shops where you can get anything that you would get at chennai. It is a must visit for South Indians, if you are craving for Dosa, Idly or any other South Indian dishes. Price is quite reasonable and the service is good.
V. N.
Excellent South Indian vegetarian food. Made fresh and served hot. It can be very busy at weekends and people often wait. Can be a bit hot for English taste buds. If you are not familiar with south Indian food try the dosas or the vadas here which are top notch. They do serve several north Indian dishes as well.
s.
Nice South Indian veg place. Very busy during weekend's. Please remember they don't give takeway options here! If you want to buy something to take home, then go to opposite place "Taste of India" to buy. They quality is also very nice!
J. M.

It's becoming a dance hall. Tables dance, Plates dance, tables are tightly arranged so much that getting in & or is challenging. You don't want someone's butt on your plate.
However, very good food. They should do buffet.
P. I.
If you've been in UK for a while and miss home food... This is the place to go. Authentic food unlike the other "authentic" places in London. Quick service and friendly staff. Loved the filter kaapi!
A. S. I.
Really delicious authentic south Indian food. We ordered so much and everything was delicious (except the fried rice, pass on that. Get a classic biryani instead!) - the dosa, idlis, everything! Highly recommended. And it has airconditioning!
A. M.
Food overall is fantastic. No knocking the quality of their food, Especially their chilli paneer and masala dosa. What they need to work on is their level of service and better queuing system to prevent everyone from blocking the entrance, especially when people come in with pushchairs. The manager was to busy on his mobile phone. Honestly.. looked like he was playing a game but can’t confirm that.
G. T.
I love South Indian and I really wanted to try this restaurant.
I had masala dosa, medu vada and mushroom rogan josh. All excellent.
It was on a Saturday at lunch time and the place was very busy, but we were seated immediately on arrival.
The reason for the four star is the poor service. We had to remind waiters two times that we ordered a coffee.
However, I would definitely recommend this place.

The food is fantastic, maybe slightly inconsistent at times but always good. I find always better during the week and less busy times.
The services is quick and straightforward.
After travelling in India we have been coming here once a week for the past 4 years!
Parrotas, dosas, thalis, idli vadas are all well made and their sambhar is lovely.
You can always ask for top ups on sauces and the prices are so cheap!
Highly recommended and better than their local competition.

Been to few HSB branches in and around London. (eastham, tooting, Wembley).
But eastham HSB serves the best quality and taste out of the three!

Reasonably priced vegetarian Indian restaurant. Can get busy on Friday and Saturday. Food is tasty and authentic. The kitchen is behind glass in the middle of the restaurant so you can see your food being prepared. The Batura can be a bit greasy though! Masala Dosa is good.

My kids love to go there...

I love this place. Food is great and service is also amazingly fast. Once you order your order arrives within mins. We enjoy dining here as the staff is good.

We all really love it here. My son has his baby idli and roti, I have my spiced potato bhonda etc , my wife her onion rava dosa and my daughter her no chilli saag paneer , . The food is wonderful. We always get 3 glasses of warm water. We are always recognised when we arrive ans seated very quickly. Special thanks to the 3 senior staff members, 2 men and 1 lady. We are always served by one of them. Went there last night for a change . It was just as good. Thank you and keep it up.

One of the best restaurants I ever visited... Very quick service and kind hospitality by the host in spite of hectic busy.. Very pleasant experience. Definitely will visit again.

One of the best Indian Restaurants I have ever been to! Serves high quality food, in reasonable prices, however it usually gets busy during festive seasons like Diwali or Ugadi, but you should give it a go!

Food was great! Anushya gave us a great suggestion on what to order and was really helpful!

Authentic South Indian chain restaurant. Food tastes same as indian chain of restaurants. Service is average. Have to wait during week ends. Over all good for those who love South Indian varieties.

Great, authentic south Indian restaurant. Gets really busy at weekends but service quick (if somewhat unsmiling). Great value for money - delicious food. I was the sole non-indian person in there: a good sign!
S. M.
I have been visiting this restaurant with my husband for over a year. Weekly. Food is always amazing and then service quick. Really affordable and very large portions. Definitely recommend!!!

Best south Indian vegetarian cuisine in London. Love their dosas, vadas, uthappam, etc. Recently had their north Indian thali and was great; especially if you are very hungry and want to try a little bit of a large variety of dishes.
M. S. H.
Very good indian food... I had the North Indian Thali few times... tastes great... Very good customer service as well... Lot better than Taste of India on the opposite of the road...😉 I really liked the Gobi Manchurian...The tea was awesome... Would love to recommend others...

Too much busy; too much crowded; food is ok. Service staff are puzzled due to overloaded work.

Excellent food, very fine service, no long waiting and very affordable prices. Felt satisfied eating good South Indian Food after long interval.

Always friendly, clean and nice food

Authentic South Indian resturant. Absolutely enjoy the dosas there. Can get very crowded with waiting time upto an hour during weekends and peak times specially dinner time. Service is ok. Although, have the option to buy sweets also from the resturant I didnt enjoy it that much. Overall a good place to enjoy south indian cusinie.

One of my all time favorite south Indian vegetarian food. Ghee Masala dosa, Mysore Masala Dosa, Idli and Sambhar top the list. I have been to same restaurant chain in New York,Amsterdam and London now. Consistent taste and great quality of food.

Good south Indian vegetarian food at reasonable prices

Authentic South Indian chain of restaurants. Fast service. Good, freshly made food. You can't go wrong with this one. Can get quite busy at times.
S. B.
Excellent place for South India food, for someone who like idly, dosa, vada, sambar this is the best place to be. I personally love the South India thali & prices are very much affordable. It's located at many places in London, the one I visit often is at eastham zone 3 & easy accessible from tube station .
S. R.
Nice, tasty, Indian, specially south Indian food.

Great food with excellent service

You can get south indian food here... Dosa, vada and pongal are must try in the list...
Both card and cash payment options available.
3 min walk from bus stop and 5min walk from tube station

Like the chatni and sambaar here. Kuttu parantha is a must try and veg biriyani is great. Service wise everything good but can be a bit delayed during peak hours and during Indian festivals. They dont treat their staff very well and are highly under paid which breaks my heart. So do leave a tip when there !
N. B.
Brilliant! Best South Indian restaurant in London! Have been a regular for over 10 years! Very busy on weekends. Shame they have stopped the takeaway service
K. M.
Excellent food .friendly environment. Waiters are so keen to take your plates away, so don't have a break inbetween your meal 🙄
A. J.
The best South Indian food chain in London. They are quick in service and budget friendly as well.
The food is authentic. The place is always crowded.
s. K.
We have always enjoyed eating here both for the quality of food and the service. This time when we visited, my wife was insevere pain and
Sri Roopa from Sarwana bhawan and the whole tram helped us quite a lot. Touched by your help.
m. D.
Tasty traditional South Indian food. Dosa, idiyappam, vada curry, onion dosa, cholapoori, kothu parotta and still more. Bit pricier but tasty and quality food.
Whenever we go to mahalakshmi temple, our family members enter this place to fill the tummy.
D. P.
The food is really good. I will rate 4 stars for food. Ambience, cleanliness and the toilets are in pathetic state. You will feel more unclean after using the restroom than before.
-. M.
Thank god we been on weekday as its impossible to get a table during weekend. The food is just make your mouth watery. I liked the lady who took a order of us family of five without writing it anywhere and brought to the table without anything missing.
T. T.
TASTY veggie Indian food, the only reason this got a four star is because of the waiting times and also the food comes in a metal tray.
Serving staff very polite and helped suggesting things on the menu... would recommended devils potato and chilli paneer as starters to anyone!
Cheap, decor isn't amazing and can get very busy (so you might be waiting a while for food / service)

Makes me feel like i am in chennai... This shop is famous for dosa and other tamizh foods. Friendly waiters and service is good... Clean and nice ambience.. A great place for vegetarians. From chole batura to kottuparota.. Everything nice.. And dont miss the coffee in the end...

Saravana Bhavan has lost my patronage over a period of time. Not so great taste and equally not so great warmth in hospitality. Quite overpriced. Over last few years, I try to avoid visiting Saravana Bhavan as much as I can. Honestly, in my humble opinion Saravana Bhavan in general, is quite overrated.
C. S. L.
Loved the food . Especially manager was really v nice . We went to Ilford one which is disgusting and the manager doesn't deserve to be there even staff was not happy with him. But sarvana East ham v nice. 👍👍
K. v.
Nice food. Reminds the taste of HSB India. You get most of the varieties of India here. This is HSB brand branch. It serves vegetarian food only. There is a sweet shop near the billing counter. There is plenty of space for seating.

Food is really delicious and service is excellent and 5 star. Would love to come back again next time

Good variety Indian foods, but quality of food taste is not good as expected everytime we go there.
M. F.
Good place to eat authentic south indian food. The stuffing in dosa is so little not how it use to be. I was hungry still. Wont be going back use to be gd

A multinational chain of South Indian vegetarian cuisine. Internationally-run on a franchise-by-franchise basis with the franchisee strictly following Menu, Standards and Due Diligence from Headoffice Chennai.
The result is a runaway success-story for South Indian Vegetarian food. If you drop-by at any restaurant of this chain, internationally, (it boasts about 30 restaurants worldwide) - the food is always of the same standard and taste.

Excellent restaurant. Amazing food. If you don't know about Indian food. Ask for Priya she will help you with a nice smile. I really enjoyed having dinner with my friends there.
P. K. K.
One of the best ghee pongal(Rice Pudding) if you want to try then you need to visit Saravana Bhavan...
M. H.
Best restaurant in the area. Lovely healthy food and best service even in busy environment . Will visit again soon for the delicious veguterian South Indian food
M. H.
Excellent South Indian food, always very busy! Try the devil potatoes. There are paid parking options nearby. Often queues but people don't tend to stay too long so worth the wait!
F.
Tastiest indian restaurant i've ever been to! They serve south indian food and everything we tried was delicious! Most dishes are vegan too, if you're vegetarian try the chili paneer, it's delicious!
p. n.
Yummy South Indian fare. Visited for lunch on a weekday, hence was able to escape the usual wait time. Breakfast items are available throughout the day, hence you can opt for either their yummy dosas and vadas or the full meals thali, which is quite filling. The fried idli was fantastic.
A. R.
The thali meals were average and the coffee was too sweet. The dosas are decent and there is always a really long wait!
