Reviews of Searcys at The Gherkin
M. H.
The most amazing experience and best service I have received in London.
Staff were very attentive, willing to tailor the service the way you feel comfortable with. Very quick service, friendly and down to earth team.Food was gorgeous! Manager came over to the our table to make conversation with us which is rare nowadays in a restaurant. He was happy to receive feedback and willing to go extra miles. A waiter called Viktor was so lovely and made me and my son feeling very comfortable during visit. When we left he personally came over to say goodbye and mentioned that we were welcome to go up to the bar to take some pics if we would like to which we did. For me the best experience and service I have received from the min you enter/leave the restaurant. And the view ‘wow’ absolutely stunning! We will be back no questions about it. Thank you Searcys! You are a great team !

My suggestion is to just take a drink in the bar on the top floor.
The overall experience was ok. I really enjoyed dining at The Shard more. Table felt cheap here, food was alright.. and that for the price just feels mweh. Also the view just doesn't quite hit the ballpark, perhaps if the weather is better?
Employees were very friendly.
Food wasn't bad, but me and my company found the food to be about 7/10. Which I find disappointing for the expectations.
I'm happy I tried, but sadly won't come back.
L. T.
Nice location.
The food was okay, a set menu with some vegetarian choices.
The service could have been better. For a 3-course meal it took us 2.5 hours to get through because the service forgot our mains (we waited for more than 30 minutes). We do appreciate the free champagne as an apology. However, after finishing the main it took another 15 minutes for the main to be cleaned, and the bill took also another 15 minutes.
It was very hard to catch the attention of the service, not sure where they were most of the time.
F. B.
If you come here on a clear day, the view is amazing. The food though was disappointing. Portions were tiny and most of the food was bland. Prices are expensive since you’re paying a premium for the view, definitely not for the food. If you’d like to visit, I would recommend that you visit and grab a drink rather than eat at the restaurant. The service was also very average and it was always a challenge to get the attention of the staff.
N. I.
Had a fantastic experience here through the combination of the view, the food and the service. We had a lunch here and the view over the city is wonderful especially if you get a window seat. The set menu had a wide range of choice and the staff went through which meals had a certain ingredient in them for my partner. Certainly the most thorough any place we have eaten at has been. Highly recommend this for a date or special occasion.
K. K.
Great ambiance, great view n fantastic food. Small portions just right for tasting more varieties. understandably expensive but worth it for a spl occasion. The main restaurant is on the 38th floor with an awesome view and a bar level above which is the top most - must visit!
T. R.
It's true I'm biased as Gherkin is my fav building in London since the skyline of City was completely empty.
Yet the resto itself is super nice: nice tapas to accompany our drinks, great and super friendly staff, fantastic views (although you can get better ones from Sushi Samba or Duck & Waffle or Oblix nowadays).
Oh and probably the easiest posh place in London to get a reservation for a Saturday night within a 4 weeks period. Recommended.
L. S.
Fantastic visit. Had a lovely tea, a nice easy environment and the service was great. Very thorough and patient. The whole place from dining area to toilets was clean. Between the views, quality of the food and the great team delivering the service, it was definitely worth it. Thank you for looking after us.
D. B.
Milena was our waitress, amazing and asset!
Views are amazing as you'd expect. We had a three course meal for £54, I think?
Great food, and good value. No pressure to leave, had a lovely afternoon.
A. B.
Amazing wedding experience at the top of Gherkin. Staff were very attentive, friendly. And the views are second to none.
A.
A great view of the city. Perfect time is just before sunset, ask for a window seat for two. Food pricing isn't too bad at £50 for a three course minus drinks. Expect to pay £100 a head including drinks. Food is good and service is excellent but it's clear the view is the main attraction, cutlery, tables and chairs are in need of renewal and the place could do with a lick of paint. Dress code is 'casual elegance' but some were dressed in shorts and polos without an issue, don't expect to have to dress up too much. Easy to get to, main entrance of the Gherkin, security checks required and then lifts to 34 and a further lift to 39. Would recommend it as an end to a London trip or a romantic date.
D. G.
Had our anniversary lunch there today, food and service was first class, and the views...... absolutely stunning, thank you everyone for a memorable afternoon, we intend to come back one evening
A. P.
Very beautiful place. Food was ok but not any special. Customer service was very friendly. I loved those views especially at night time because daytime you see how dirty those windows are.
Y. W.
View itself gets 5 stars.
But the food...I will give 3 stars.
Chicken was okay.
Do not try steak. Maybe I'm not there yet.
J. M.
Amazing location (favourite skyscraper in London)
Staff were lovely and attentive.
Food was meh? Probably a better location for drinks. Most definitely paying for the view and location.
W. A.
From start to finish an amazing visit. The immaculate meet and greets going up to the restaurant, then the amazing views, first class service and wonderful food. Is it pricey? This is London and you definitely get value for money. If you want to spoil yourself, this is a place to consider.
H. S.
Magnificent view! It would be lucky to grab a table near the window. Highly recommended for celebrations.
C. M.
Spectacular view, great venue for events
I really enjoyed the visit of the place.
Should try night visit seeing the city lights from the top floor with is 40 after taking the stares. The lift takes you to 39th.
I was a nice experience I always was wondering what's at the top of that building
Share your experiences when visit the place.
V.
Pretty underwhelming for £47 for 2 courses.
Went for lunch, salmon starter was tasty but basic. Main was pork which was also not up to standard, despite coming highly recommended by the waiter.
It’s expensive and could be so so good given the stunning views and setting. But like the others on here I was left feeling a little disappointed.
Also. The chairs are awful. Cheap and slippery.
Would not recommend for food. Drinks only. Views are stunning.
V. R.
Fancy place worth visiting when in London :) it actually is located right on the top, behind the top glass eggy roof. The view is incredible. There are a lot of tables with the window view by the perimeter. It's also not that crowdy. The staff is kind and welcoming. It is indeed on the expensive side, but for some celebration it may worth it. The food is quite tasty as well. Their signature Victoria dessert is yummy <3
A. O.
It was beautiful. The view was lovely.
Staff was nice and warm.
We had afternoon tea so the salmon and scones were my fave things to eat.
We got there around 2:45pm and it was serene. Only a handful of people were there.
I'd recommend it for families, girlfriends, lovers.
P. C.
Afternoon tea experience.
Coffee was wasn't hot, it was warm.
4 little cuts of sandwiches in total and dried muffins with cakes.
Unfortunately on top of that we had fog and I was not able to see anything outside the windows. It was to dark inside the room- I wish they would of put the candles on or at least switch the light on.
I would expect sweets to be better quality and have at least 8 cuts of sandwiches.
I left the place hungry.
M. D.
Great views as you expect, the food is good but fairly standard fare. If you're a beer drinker, not a lot of choice at the bar!
E. b.
Lovely brunch! The food was great and the service was excellent. Amazing views! We went at sunset time and was beautiful 😍
M. M.
360 excellence in terms of views! The private dining space was more like a meeting room and less like a restaurant. The food was ok-ish but nothing memorable. The dessert was the best thing in the menu.
D. F.
Staff were polite but the place needs a bit of a makeover. For the price of the food and drinks as well as the location, you’d expect better furniture than what you normally sit at in a cafe or coffee shop. Not much in terms of decor or ambience, but food was cooked well despite the small portions.
A. L.
The best afternoon tea, service, and views! Highly recommend! We had a lovely waitress 'Elena' (forgive me for the poor spelling! I don't think this is correct) who catered to all our needs! It was an incredible experience!
M. K.
Very polite and professional service.
Clean...tasty food and well served.
First time in my life I drink proper cocktail and Irish coffee with the exact amount of alcohol ( not water or ice)
It's a little bit expensive but worth for the money
U. R.
sit in the Iris bar at the top of the Gherkin sipping drinks and enjoying the great atmosphere and views across London.
K. M.
Not only did we have the best seat in the place with views of the sunset, we also had the loveliest waitress. The food and cocktails were amazing. We were celebrating our anniversary and it was sweet of them to decorate a plate for us. We will be returning again!
Y. B.
•Great View
•Good food , nicely presented.
•Quick service
Negative points
• Felt towards the end of our meal , waiter was rushing us to leave , bringing the bill without us asking him to , as soon as they saw our pudding plates empty. Understandable due to booking slots , but plenty of free tables when we left.
N. S.
Service top class. Food was delicious. Staff was very friendly and professional. My partner is frightened of heights but We werent too close to window we both felt safe . Thought the lift might turn my stomach but didn't even feel we were going up 34 floors in about 15 secs ..
s. s.
Very nice experience. Staff was very kind and professional and good food. Fair price for the 3 courses menu considering the incredible location. Must do if you are in London
P. C.
Valentines dinner. Everything was great ex eat the mocktail :)
C. G.
Great value for money and views. Spent the afternoon there for my sister's birthday which we thoroughly enjoyed. The food was great, especially the miso cod.
B. K.
Nice Valentines Day tea. Good service...and my wife was happy, which is the most important thing...
R. S.
Had an amazing first experience at Searcy’s at The Gherkin! Great place for a special occasion, you’re paying for the views and unique experience. Service was attentive and informative. We had noted that one party was plant-based upon booking and the appropriate amendments were made to the menu. Food was delicious along with our sparkling champagne. On a hot day it can get quite warm so make sure you dress for it and maybe take a pair of sunglasses! Would love to come back for a sunset dinner to see what it’s like. (Very minor note, chairs could be updated, makes it feel slightly cheap to be honest, other than that everything was great!).
Tip: the entrance to Searcy’s is through the revolving doors (also leading to the offices) on the opposite side to the restaurant on the ground floor. You’ll need your ID to enter the building and pass through a security check.
R. R.
We were pleasantly surprised. Views are great, staff friendly and professional, food was just amazing! Price wise very good. Definitely will visit again!
E. D.
What a venue! Third visit and I hope there will be more. Saying that, it is all about the experience, not the food.
Front of house is spot on, unfussy, attentive and professional. Flawless decor and service (standfast an appetiser arriving five minutes before the wine which was two minutes before the arrival cocktails).
The views are superb, but watch out for extra skyscrapers popping up right, left and Chelsea!
Food looks great, stems from decent products and is tasty, but doesn't taste the extra spondolics you could smash out at home. Roasted heritage beetroot? Tasted boiled. Triple cooked truffle cooked chips? Wet, untruffly (I'm aware of the afront to the English language) and without crisp or crunch.
We would like to go again, but either knock 50% off the food price, or increase the quality.
T. F. T.
Lovely ambiance, took my breath away when we got to the top! Food was well worth the price, we had three course Sunday Roast for £35 each and us being us, we ordered 4 cocktails and were all amazing! Will definitely go back!
R. G.
Great afternoon tea with a wonderful view. The service was really good, Milena is lovely and very kind.
S. M.
Wonderful experience, service was excellent food was excellent and then to top it all the restaurant manager gave us a show round which was phenomenal, can't wait to go back.
C. B.
First time at Iris Bar at the too of the Gherkin. Great drinks and en even better view. Highly recommended for those of you visiting London. Drinks are not cheap but the view more than makes up for it.
D. G.
Food was stunning and really tasty. A good set menu. But the drinks took ages to get to the table .Good views of the city and the bar at the top stunning.
J. W.
Incredible views and lovely food. I would like to come back again!
I. R.
Amazing to be inside the iconic building. We had afternoon tea. £49 each. It was raining, so the views were not so good, so I would advise anyone going to book on a sunny day
L. S.
Searcy is not easy to find and the food can be more creative than expected. Be prepared to spend a lot whether it's for a dinner or a simple drink.
Otherwise, there is an amazing view and staff !
N. A.
My fiance booked a table at Searcys for Valentines night expecting top quality food and service. When we arrived we were wowed by the appearance and ambience of the restaurant. The table presentation was nice and they had a perfect selection of background music. Our waitress was professional in how she carried out her service however I was astounded when her colleague, the food server rolled his eyes in a derogatory way as she took a moment, probably to recall which of us ordered which dish. I found this disrespectful to the waitress and us that paid expensively for a quality service. When you contrast the quality of service in Searcys to Sushi Samba or Claridges which we have found less expensive, tastier and more professional, its easy to understand why we won't be back at Searcys.
The lamb I received was strong tasting, like mutton which is okay because I like both. However it was advertised as Lamb on the menu. The presentation of the Sea Bream was nice but it lacked seasoning. The choc fondant desert was delicious however the ice cream portion was ridiculously small.
In all, this was a mediocre experience and not what I paid more expensively than usual for.
K. B.
Fantastic views, great food and friendly staff. Lucky with weather so we did have the full benefit of looking over London. I think it may be of benefit to visitors to have some sort of leaflet which flags some of the points of interest that can be viewed. Nonetheless lovely food which I would recommend. Well organised for the current Covid situation too.
J. B.
The reception and lift to iris bar great. A pity the lift to be last bit not in use unl I asked for assistance. I had a sore knee so the last steps bit of a struggle. Music mix very goo. Orderings was a bi random. Mistake on final bill incorrect. Myself fault I'm didn't check.
I.
The Christmas tasting menu was stunning. Everywhere about this restaurant screams luxury. One of the best location to view the London skylines. At the moment due to sheer volume of constructions near by, I would recommend to go during the daytime. Good job management, had a great time!
P.
The waitress has brought the wrong tea during the afternoon tea. Anyone can make a mistake, but what was especially annoying is that replacement took ages. The whole point of afternoon tea experience was ruined.
The view is nice, however only a half of the circle is used for dining area, the other part is sacrificed for the ladder to the bar on top.
S. W.
My boyfriend and I had a meal here on 23/11/18 at 8pm and it was the best meal we’ve had.
All three courses were absolutely stunning, the waiter we had was really attentive and was very helpful. The atmosphere and decor made the meal even better. I recommend sitting near the window as the view is stunning looking over London.
Would highly recommend and would love to return again.
L. P. C.
been here a couple of times took my nephew once and my mother another time just as a treat and what a lovely treat it is indeed not super huge but is a special building exterior and interior when dining worth the memory
L. H.
The waiting staff were very friendly and attentive.
The food was lovely with the exception of the meringue, which is my favourite dessert, it was far too hard to eat.
C.
Although the food menu on the bar floor is lacking variety, me and my partner had an amazing time at the gherkin. Staff were friendly and attentive. The drinks we ordered were both inventive and delicious while being decently priced. Unfortunately due to the weather, the views were not the best but the interior of the bar allowed for a 360° view of London. Would go again.
A. P.
Great venue, window seat over the Thames, the afternoon tea was lovely with the exception of the scones, rock hard and stale, they offered to bring a replacement but they should never have been served
A. R.
It was worth while, taken the long journey to London, for our company annual get together award in the exclusive, full security scanning, Gherkin. The view from the glass dome overlooking London, was just amazing. Pluse the drinks were pretty good to..lol..super place for a drink and a meal. 🤑lol
R. K.
Stunning restaurant, stunning views, stunning food, stunning cocktails & stunning service. (Don't forget to bring physical ID with you).
J. O.
Our meal was a Birthday present from my son. We had a lovely time there, the views from the Gherkin are fantastic, and it is such an iconic building. We started by having a cocktail, then we went down to the Restaurant, the food was really tasty and well presented. The service was excellent and all the staff were very attentive . We would definitely go there again.
Y. g.
Family celebration meal at the Gherkin 37th floor was excellent. Lovely building and very good customer service received in the restaurant.
A. N.
Like all these high rise restaurants, it's the view rather than the food you are paying for but this is one of the better value ones. Couldn't fault the service either.
E.
This place deserves five stars just from the view, fortunately the food and the service complement the experience. Although we went for a set menu, which didn't offer many choices. It was very good. We got a table by the window which made the experience even better. Is also worthy to visit the bar upstairs which offers a 360 degree view.
M. T.
The best place I visited in London. Amazing view, the stuff at the bar on the top floor was very kind, helpful took pictures of us without complaining. The price range aslo very good. Nice cocktails, I suggest trying "passionate".
J. E.
View was fantastic the experience ok. A bit disappointed with the food which was ok but nothing special. Be careful when offered a top up of champagne and tea or coffee. It is not made clear that these are an additional cost and are in my view overly expensive.
M. R.
A fantastic experience, I took my girlfriend here for the sparkling afternoon tea - it was excellent from start to finish.
The view from the top is exceptional, provided the weather is clear!
The food and drink we had was delicious.
The service was top notch, not too hasty but always attentive.
The covid safety is also very well enforced.
Overall, 10/10 and will definitely be back for more!
L. M.
Really fun venue for a special evening out in London. I took a friend who was visiting and it was lovely showing off the view over London. The cocktails are fantastic and a real highlight. Unfortunately, we didn’t check kitchen times in advance and were unable to order food (they had stopped serving lunch but was too early for dinner). Booking is a must. I would definitely go again for a birthday or special occasion and make sure we order some food this time round!
G. A.
It was a friend's birthday and we decided to eat somewhere a little more fancy. The price was decent for the location.
We had a room to our self, with a view overseeing some of London's buildings.
There was a glass of prosecco to begin with, then unlimited drinks which ranged from sodas to wine and beer for about 3 hours.
Starters were nice, I went with a salmon thing. Then there's the meal and then dessert. We also had a surprise birthday cake which was nice. I'm almost certain we paid for that.
The menu could do with a some more healthy options (vegan/vegetarian).
Otherwise I'd recommend it!
A. T.
Had Iris bar booking 7:00pm - 8:30pm (you get 90 minutes) on a Saturday night.
Needed photo id to enter and had to go through some security, up a lift to check-in coats, up another lift, past Helix restaurant and then some stairs to the bar.
Was a nice relaxed intimate bar with low lighting and soft background music. Our seating was close to window and there were also tables for larger groups in middle of bar. You can walk around bar to see amazing 360° views of London.
Service was friendly and polite, but at times a tad slow (5 minutes to get service and 20 minutes to arrive). We ordered some cocktails (~£15) and a plate of English artisanal cheeses (~12) which were quite good (Stilton, goats cheese & Cheshire with fig chutney and crackers.)
We dressed formally but noticed women and men in jeans and sports trainers there.
Felt special to be top of such an iconic building and were able to enjoy sunset over London (although somewhat obscured by some other tall buildings), as well as see London at night.
Overall it was a pleasant experience and would go again.
I. S.
Stunning views of gorgeous London. I particularly love coming here for one of their signature cocktails at sunset or storm. The service is wonderful - welcoming & efficient. The food is excellent!
S. D.
What a view over London. The staff were wonderful, helpful but not intrusive. The food was great & the ambiance amazing. The bar on the top floor offered amazing panoramic views, but the staff were a little scarce when trying to order drinks!! But the cocktails were good
M.
Reasonable food but not great. Of course the views are spectacular. Decor nothing special.
C. K.
We had an excellent meal right at the top of the Gherkin. Unfortunately the weather was not good so our view of London was obscured by rain.
A. S.
Celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary here. Excellent customer service and great food. To improve, I suggest soft chairs as the seats where very uncomfortable especially for a romantic setting.
O. B.
Great food, excellent service
J. H.
Wonderful food, incredible cocktails and the VIEWS, just wow. Worth the experience
N.
Food was lovely, but nothing you can't get elsewhere for a lot less. You pay for the view here as is expected. Staff was professional, very accommodating and knowledgeable with dietary requirements, much more so than many other restaurants. I would have perhaps felt more comfortable knowing there was an air purifier as the venue got quite busy and tables didn't have much distance at all in between them (so don't expect social distancing here). View was good, but this also depends on where they seat you. Overall I enjoyed the visit but probably don't need to return anytime soon having now experienced what there is to experience.
A. A.
Friendly staff. Excellent service. More variety in menu would be advantageous. Amazing views....Head to the bar for 360° of London!
F. O.
Beautiful bar on floor 40. Wonderful views across London. Some interesting cocktails. They don't rush your visit.
A. P.
Wow, we were bought this experience as a Christmas present and it didn't disappoint. Fantastic food and great friendly service topped off with amazing views, even though the weather wasn't great. Thank you.
L. D.
I treated myself to lunch here on my second to last day in London. It was a very special experience and the set menu wasn’t too pricey. A great way to wrap up a less this trip.
L. C.
Very beautiful views, very friendly customer service! All staff were attentive.
Very pricey, but i suppose you get what you pay for. Didn't try the food, so i can't comment on that.
Drinks were nice.
G. T.
Definitely a great experience, great view, very nice menu, good service and amazing customer treatment from the staff.
N. Y.
Relatively affordable and nice menu too. We headed up to the bar after we finished our lunch. Gotta say both the atmosphere and the scenery are breathtaking.
D. J.
Great place with stunning views. Cocks served at the beginning were very tasty, especially strawberry mojito. Wasn't a big fan of ginger cocktails as they're a bit too strong for me but others liked them. Food really nice but not everything was agreeing with my taste buds. Overall experience was amazing. I had great time
M. L.
It was an amazing great experience 👏🙌 we enjoyed every moment the staff so lovely caring great helpful. Was my partners bd made it special for him.
K. O.
Food was amazing, same as staff, especially blond hair waitress lady. They prepared small surprise for my daughter bday. Its was lovely experience.
P. T.
My sister bought me dinner as a gift. One of better gifts i have ever had. Great venue, stunning views, really friendly and professional staff. Food very good, had some lovely seafood. Obviously its not cheap but I think it's good value for money. Will definitely be back.
E. C.
It was a really neat building to be in and the view from the top was wonderful. The dinner at the very top was so delicious. The wine they served with the dinner was also very good.
D. C.
Great experience at the bar! Tasty cocktails with stunning views. Waiters were quite attentive and we received a very nice surprise for our anniversary.
S. P.
Came here for drinks, at a private event (so didn’t get to try the food). Needless to say, the views were exceptional and the service to match. If you ever get the opportunity to go here, grab it with both hands.
J. B. J.
Great value for money. The pork belly was to die for. Shame about the weather.
R. P.
Not the cheapest, but food was excellent and the view fabulous (even in the rain)
E. H.
Absolutely worth it, delicious food, friendly service and the views were amazing
E. N.
As an architecture nerd, this is the only way for me to access the rooftop level of the Gherkin. But as a foodie, the Helix Restauant simply just blew me away. 3 courses lunch menu was just absolutely fantastic. Great soup, mouth watering ox cheek and the beautiful dessert.
Highly recommended for foodies, Londoners looking for a better vantage point, and architectural nerds!
S. N.
Good food: good atmosphere; good views; good presentation; attentive staff; great for occasions.
J. D.
Been here a few times. Beautiful views and outstanding architecture. Complimented by fabulous drinks and delightful staff.
Exclusive yet comfortable feel throughout.
Will continue to frequent.
p. o.
Very accommodating. Very calm. Very ambient. Great set meal choices. Lovely food. Lighting is awful so forget about pictures. Great service.
C. C.
Fantastic venue. Been waiting 18 years to get in the gherkin. Lovely food, great staff, what else do you need
S. H.
Decent experience at the restaurant. The view is amazing!
k. l.
Wonderful atmosphere, attentive and friendly service, amazing views and very good food. What's not to like. Would I go again? YES.
L. P.
The food is always exceedingly well-presented and the service very good, although I often have to wait for staff to see me at peak times. Portions are not large, but sufficient and delicious.
My Nigerian waiter had to endure endless ribbing from my guest for supporting Manchester United.
Next time, the correct answer to
"Which football team do you support?"
is "Liverpool, of course." ;) YNWA
M. M.
The Gherkin was a wonderful place to spend a couple of hours having afternoon tea. However, I thought it was extremely overpriced. The scones were tiny and more like biscuits. There weren't any sandwiches only three small 'one bite' tasters. The cakes were delicious but again only 'one bite'. We had small glass of champagne each and was asked if we wanted another but weren't warned that this was not included in the voucher my husband had purchased for £98! We were then presented with a further bill of £50. The tea was in a small clear teapot and wasn't even loose leaf,
just a T Bag. We weren't offered a refill. The choices of tea were extremely limited. We have been to tea at many venues throughout London and this one was by far the least value for money. The views are wonderful but worth it......probably not. Our beautiful City of London can be seen from many other places to the same effect with much cheaper prices.
O. S.
Had a lovely time here. Just went for drinks at the bar on the top floor. The view was amazing and the glass roof is really impressive. Can highly recommend the "Passionate" cocktail.
Reservation online recommended.
M. A.
Amazing architecture, excellent service, delicious plates, fantastic views
A. G.
What a place! Incredible views, food and service up in the sky above London, a massive recommendation!
S. M.
Lots of fun with friends and family. Our server was not only hilarious but attentive and caring... Much appreciated.
S. R.
Amazing 🤩 they made our anniversary dinner so special and the views were breathtaking
K.
Views are stunning! Personable and good service. We have a 3 course deal which was tasty but limited in options. They did provide an extra happy birthday dessert for my boyfriend which was a nice surprise! Overall a lovely experience!
E. T.
After some confusion, we were finally shown to our seats for the cocktails in the Iris Bar. Alessio our bartender was very attentive and friendly. The 360° views over London were amazing
S. R.
A lovely setting, with a fabulous view of the sunset. Meal was good and staff attentive
L. B.
My fiancée and I went for cocktails here. The view was lovely and the cocktails were delicious. We shared the cheese board, and the cheeses tasted great. We'll definitely come back for dinner at the restaurant!
P. m.
View was alright but the food abit as good as I expected !!!

Phenomenal food, we enjoyed every bite. Nice and relaxed atmosphere. Very nice and friendly staff, very good and prompt service. I will recommend to everyone who wants a nice place to have dinner in the sky. We will be back 😁. A must do in London.
I. P.
Fantastic place to have a drink.
This place is booked for many events so bettet to go their website and make a reservation before you go.
K. D.
I’m so impressed! I was quite sceptical after reading the reviews but I can’t recommend this place enough! It has a wow factor and the food is great. If you take 3 course set menu, that will be more than enough and you will definitely feel full. We will definitely come back and even though the weather was bad, we enjoyed ourselves and the view. 5 stars!
P.S. yes, it is pricey. But that is understandable
M. S.
The best food I've eaten in a long time and a perfect view for couple night out or special occasion.
P. A.
It may not have a named chef or Michelin star, but it definitely equals them,we had the taster menu which was perfectly sized and each dish was put together well, another big bonus was the view, totally captivating !
A. W.
Wonderful afternoon tea on a rainy day. Well worth the trip.
J. G.
Very nice for a great excellent food, great staff serving on and a brilliant view.
J.
Great views, food was good value for money & the staff were really nice - happy to take pictures for you. Just a shame about the British weather!
K.
Perfect place to go with your significant other to enjoy a relaxing drink and admire the views. The staff were very friendly and the service was top notch. We both had such a lovely time here, thanks.
a. s.
Best experience last night for mine and my boyfriends anniversary. The food was good but the service by millena and alex was exceptional. They were very helpful, attentive, and hospitable. They made the night really special. Thank you so much we will definitely be back.
k. D.
Friendly and helpful staff, cocktails and food are very good! Everything is reasonably priced and the view over London is awesome
S. R. C.
Elegant fine cousine restaurant in the top floor of the most iconic skyscraper of London, The Gherkin. Hi quality food with the best service and great views.
K. T.
I have been to Searcys at the Gherkin before and had a lovely experience however this time I went for a cocktail and sax night. The cocktail we was given was not pleasant and the lighting inside was awful. It restricted the view which was the main reason for visiting Searcys.
M. M. C.
Absolutely delightful views and environment at bar.
Restaurant menu is very limited.
R. G.
Really good evening, food & staff very good, also great views, loved it.
A. F.
A great place to have lovely afternoon tea! The views are spectacular!
D. D.
Amazing views, super friendly staff and attentive staff, delicious food even for people with dietary needs. It's not cheap so not for everyday but it really is perfect for a special occasion to remember. Do remember your photo ID as it's like airport check in.
P. H.
Wonderful food! Best mushroom soup I have ever tasted. The view was spectacular! The service was outstanding! JB, the sommalier, was excellent! We had a wonderful evening. Highly recommend.
E. L. G.
After drinks at Iris Bar we headed down to the 38th floor to the Helix Restaurant operated by Searcys at The Gherkin. We were lucky enough to have a table right at the front by the window with fantastic views of London.
We started with a glass of Perrier-Jouët Blanc de Blancs Champagne which was served in beautifully ornate glasses. It was perfectly light and refreshing for the starters we had.
While we were deciding what to eat, we were presented with some fresh sourdough bread. It was so moreish!
To start we had the Portland crab, celery, grapes and candied walnuts (£17) and Portwood Farm asparagus, whipped goat’s curd and radish (£16). The crab and accompaniments were light and fresh and perfect for a summery evening. The asparagus with the goat’s cheese was particularly enjoyable and full of flavour and texture.
For our main, we shared the 45-day aged Shorthorn rib of beef served with watercress, triple cooked chips, béarnaise (£86). We also ordered some Purple sprouting broccoli (£4.50).
The meat was served medium rare and cooked to perfection. The chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle – just delicious. The sommelier recommended Cuvaison 2017 Pinot Noir from Napa Valley in California. It was light enough for a warm evening whist having sufficient weight to complement the red meat.
We were too full for dessert which was a shame as the glazed lemon tart with raspberry ripple ice cream and selection of cheeses (Blue Monday, Barron Bigod and Quicke’s Vintage Cheddar) really caught our eye!
Instead we finished the evening with a Lady Flower or a “Negroni’s wife” as it is informally known! Served with Beckett’s sloe gin, campari infused for 24 hours with raspberries and strawberries, rose liquor and a little elderflower, it was sweeter than a regular Negroni. With such elegant presentation, it was a lovely way to cap off a luxurious evening.
An evening at Searcys at the Gherkin is not cheap but for a special occasion there are few better locations to indulge in such a stunning setting. The drinks, food and service are superb and you will not come away disappointed! A special shout out to Alessio, Head Bartender and Mixologist at the Gherkin who is so knowledgeable and passionate!
Make sure you check out the set menu deals. They offer a 3 course lunch including gin trio (£42) and 3 course dinner including a drink (£45).
J. S. L.
Amazing experience at the searcys with good view. The food was a little let down as it tasted a little bland. However the experience was great!
V. U.
This restaurant good for a city view or maybe sunset time, but the quality of the food and service very low from my point of view.
n. n.
I was a little worried at first because our reservation confirmation stated there was an age restriction l. However, we brought our 9 month old and the staff was very accommodating. Staff was fantastic. The only down fall is the food. Definitely not worth the price. I've been to many restaurants in tall buildings Seattle Space needle, Burj khalifa, but this one was just not it. Especially for the price.
S. J.
It was a lot of money but I had a red letter day not worth it .30 pounds for 2 bottle of water
L. S.
Fantastic experience, staff very welcoming, helpful and friendly.
Food was delicious , menu had plenty of choice.
Food allergies had been noted and we were advised what would be available off the menu .
Cocktails was a bonus too
Shame weather was very foggy so view was not so good .
Will be sure to book again .
S. P.
Cool venue in theory, but from my point of view a hard venue to work. Dodgy lighting and glass reflections and quite a tight space.
D. M.
Best view in London...food is great too
G. G.
Lovely food, the service wasn’t on point but the lovely cocktails and the food made up for it.
I. Y.
Great meal.in good location, not michelen star.but decent food service decent, but just short of top quality
A. S.
Nice bar, but overpriced food if your not lucky will get a table next to kitchen doors.
J. C.
Amazing experience here! The staff are so attentive and the good is scrumptious. Definitely get there and to the bar whenever you can!
T. D.
The food and service was 7star, the view and atmosphere is just incredible.
m. p.
Nice place to go for drinks. But I wasn't a fan of the food.
T. F.
Stunning views , exceptional brunch, attentive staff and a wonderful experience of London
S. R.
Amazing views of the city, fabulous menu and very friendly staff. Highly recommended!
A. H.
We had a amazing evening at Searcys; great food, great service. The only not so positive feedback would be the reservation; it’s almost impossible to book a table for a weekend’s night.
G. S.
Absolutely brilliant venue. There was a brilliant platter but they insisted on serving it out at a snail's pace. Don't let that put you off though as is a must see.
K. E.
Amazing sights even if it was a foggy say. Polite and helpful staff. For the price of the food our party was expecting food of a higher standard too but we found it a bit overrated and not very enjoyable unfortunately.
A. P.
It's the kind of restaurant you'd only go to so you can say you've eaten at the top of the Gherkin. Inattentive staff, small portions, harsh lighting.
J. T.
Super disappointed. We had a Sunday lunch time set menu. Starter were hands down fabulous. The roast dinners... sadly so disappointing. The potatoes, awful, dry. Beef, over cooked, chewy. Chicken was SO DRY! It felt like a carvery roast dinner, not what I’d expected from this restaurant. The waitress did however ask if the food was ok and I let her know what we were unhappy about and she did take the drinks off our menu price (£30) which I thought made it all a bit better.
I’d definitely give it another go but I’m not in a rush.
E. S.
Amazing dining experience with stunning city panoramic views 👌
K. T.
Amazing position and view, excellent food and service, a memorable experience, we will be returning
A. V.
Exceptional service by Milena and Alex. Thank you for making my girlfriend and I's anniversary so special. the food was really good, and the drinks were wonderful!
P. D.
Out of this world location, amazing food. Great staff.
G. C.
Nice views and good food. Service good too!
R. E.
Amazing views, great food and service!
a. S.
Lovely view, great service and drinks!
M. T.
We have booked an afternoon tea for 4 pm and the view is indeed amazing. You can spend hours just exploring London from birds view. That said they should not be serving afternoon tea when they only have a selection of Aldi`s finest camomile tea, hibiscus and green tea. It was actually offensive to go for an afternoon tea and getting served the most basic teas. Also the scones were so dry you can kill someone with them.
J. V.
From the moment of completing the booking you feel this is going to be something special, and it doesn’t disappoint at all. We had a 4 course brunch with champagne, service from the moment we arrived was great. Venue felt very special, and the food was equally as good. Portions were (I felt) of a sensible size for Brunch. Would definitely recommend if it’s something you were on the fence about
S. C.
Amazing location. If you're a fan of Douglas Adams think the restaurant at the end of the universe (thankfully without dishes demanding to be eaten). Service excellent. Cocktails great. Food mixed. Very nicely cooked beef but carrot side dish was some kind of heritage mix - not what was expected and hard and tasteless. Almond and pear tart v dry and hardly any sign of pears. Wine pretty dreadful (by the glass). Maybe they don't serve much of it and the bottles had been sitting around but the two glasses we had tasted low end supermarket standard which for £15-£20 a glass is disgraceful.
D. M.
A must do! Phenomenal views, service and food. Thank you for a wonderful day!
C. W.
Great views of London not matched by food or service.
Eye catching views of London from the dining area and better views from the bar on the top floor.
For the prices being charged we were expecting more.
The starters gave the impression of being prepared in advance and the seafood cocktail's lettuce component was not the freshest. At almost £20 it was a let down.
The main courses were good and generous and the deserts were almost double the size we expected based on the starter sizes, can't please everyone...
We weren't offered the wine list and when we had obtained the wine we had to ask everytime to get our glasses refilled.
The wine bottle was held in a central area rather than on the table or a stand where we could have at least served ourselves.
We finished our drinks on the top floor bar that offers almost 360° views.
I'd happily go back to use the bar and get the views from there but would skip the dining option at the current prices.
The prices may just be a reflection of the location and the viewing options.
We were there during the lunch midweek service and it was almost full, mostly tourists rather than business clientele.
L. T.
We had drinks at Iris looking out over the amazing view, and then had a three-course supper downstairs at Helix. Everything was amazing - the food was delicious from start to finish and the service was flawless. It was a really special evening and I couldn't recommend dining here more!
J. T.
Went here for brunch. Great food and views but the bar on the very top is unlike any other rooftop bar in London.
P. G.
We Had a really lovely meal, it was a present for my wife. The restaurant staff were really helpful and friendly and all in all we had a great time until we went upstairs to the bar (hence only giving three stars) where we had a lovely couple of seats with a great view over London but got asked to move along two seats which overlooked a great big plant!! Wasn't a problem until a younger couple got shown to the two seats where we were sitting before getting asked to move??? Didn't make sense to us and was such a shame to end the evening as we didn't think this was very fair especially as we'd just spent quite a bit in the restaurant and this couple just came in for a drink and a bowl of chips??? Would definitely go back to the restaurant though.
L. M.
Loved it. Had the set menu which was great value, food was very nice indeed and the restaurant is fantastic. Amazing views. Staff were brilliant, we went for a birthday meal and had a cocktail upstairs after. Definitely will be coming back. Highly recommended.
S. A. (.
A truly stunning setting to have dinner (view only that is). We were lucky enough to have a window table. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient.
However I was disappointed with the decor in the restaurant. The tables give the restaurant a bit of a canteen feel. For the price we paid for the food, I would expect a bit more comfort/luxury...maybe a table cloth! The food was good but not amazing. I would recommend for the experience but we will not be visiting again.
S. I.
We visited the bar (need to book in advance)
Drinks are not that expensive
Staffs are really nice
We were 4 with 2 bottle of wine and nacho we paid only 80£
B. F.
I was a bit under the weather when I visited. The restaurant felt a bit chilly for me and looked slightly industrial. Food was tasty, but I could have done with more that the four mouth fulls of Hedwick Lamb that was on my plate. Views were good from the cocktail bar but the novelty fades. Service could have been a slight bit better. Getting a glass of wine mid way through the meal rather than with it is always irritating. Possibly we may return.
V. K.
It was ok nothing special, our booking was put back by two weeks and we were offered free drinks as compensation had to pay £16.80 service charge on the two drinks a glass of wine and a soft drink!
L. C.
What a wonderful experience. The food is top notch, only beaten by the friendly and funny staff. Fully recommend and will definitely go again.
D. N.
Drinks cost about £15-20 but the view is spectacular. It is a fine dining restaurant with a good quality food
J.
Beautiful location and nice service.
Unfortunately, the food itself was (aside from presentation) fairly underwhelming. We had the set menu with 3 courses, which did not quite live up to haute-cuisine in terms of taste and also the amount of food was not quite enough to make us feel full.
Would not go back for the food, but eating with the beautiful view was still an experience.
Z. X.
Try it once, and that's it. I wouldn't go there again(I would go again to other restaurants I've been in London).
I definitely will go again for a drink to the bar above the restaurant, where the view is superior to the view at the restaurant.
Food at the restaurant was very good, but not excellent, and the dessert in my opinion was average.
View was nice, both before and after the sunset - however the glass was dirty, so it killed the view before the sunset. Obviously this view is nothing in comparison to the mother nature, mountains, beach, etc.
In the restaurant there was a loud music, which we later found out, was coming from the bar above - from one single speaker, the quality of it was like the radio used by the workers at construction sites :) - shame, really shame...
They could also improve waitress procedures. There was one for drinks, one for taking food order, two for serving the food, another for serving the dessert. Guy with food came and was waiting behind our back for another guy to come and take plates from tray to our table - this was about 30-60seconds. So some improvements could be made there.
On the toilet's artificial flowers there was loads of dust, like it wasn't cleaned for at least a year.
The restaurant didn't have any atmosphere.
In short, would I recommend it - No. Would I recommend other London restaurants - Yes.
D.
As you'd expect, upscale. Service was prompt. It's worth it just for the views.
B. W.
Attended an amazing wedding reception there. Absolutely stunning location everything was perfect
R. S.
Had a beautiful table by the window. Views were mesmerising! Enjoyed a drink at the bar before dinner. Also in a 'room with a view'. Delicious cocktails from old-fashioned to the latest craze. I loved the food at the restaurant. Pricey but worth it. Can't complain about the service either. Moved from a non-window table to a window table after the first course. Good wine selection suitable for most budgets. Overall a very good experience.
A. M. D.
Spectacular views and The cocktails are really nice when you finally get them. Service was quite slow. We were shown to our table and no one came to see us for a very long time and even after ordering it took quite a while for the cocktails to arrive. I should add that it was not busy when we first got there.
J.
Fab as always but nearby new high-rise buildings will spoil the views West and North-Weet so go soon!!
N. W.
Very nice bar, the view is amazing, good cocktails and very pleasant staff, especially the young man who served us. We thought he was from London because of his excellent English speaking but he was actually from Croatia, very polite, professional, kind and funny as every waiter should be.
Praise!
M. M.
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the innovative 3 couse meal with free drink. Our waitress was particularly pleasant and efficient. 5 star food, service, views and ambience. Pity the service in the cocktail bar afterwardswas not as good as despite being empty we were asked to wait for a seat whilst the waiter ignored us and went to serve someone else
M. M.
The whole experience was great from the time we got there. All the staff were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble.
When I made the booking, I mentioned that it was our wedding anniversary and when the deserts were served they brought an extra mouse with "happy anniversary", and that was a pleasant surprise.
would definitely recommend the experience
M. A.
Attended an event with private dining on the 38th floor, near the viewing platform.
There were both beautiful decorations and a beautiful view. Everything was laid out and presented well. The cloakroom cupboards were in the middle of the room which was a bit unfortunate and disappointing as it prevented me from seeing what was happening on the other side.
The food tasted good, drinks tasted great and dessert tasted delicious.
Staff were all very polite, from the staff at security, to the waiters bringing out food.
N. E.
I mean, we knew it was going to be pricey, but £5 for half a pint? None of our 3 cocktails tasted better than average and the view isn't actually as great as a lot of the other view bars. Good to see what the fuss was all about, but not the bar for me.
D. T.
Meals really enjoyable, staff really great, I would recommend, if decide to go, you try their Schnapps.
i. H.
Stunning views and building.
Unfortunately most of the waiters and service staff seemed rushed and lacked any connection with the guests.
They took way too long to clear our bread plates and completely forgot one of our side plates. This irritated me somewhat because not only did I need to spend some time getting their attention, I then had to pause my meal to wait for the side dish to actually arrive.
The girls greeting us at the reception and showing us to our table were of a much higher standard, they were warm and capable of holding a pleasant conversation.
I normally feel very welcome and special when I visit a quality restaurant and sadly that wasn't the case.
The food was disappointing overall;
Salmon and Crab starter nicely presented and very tasty.
Salmon main was bland and unseasoned served with equally bland and soggy courgettes.
Chicken main was dry and bland.
The sauteed seasonal greens were plain and watery.
The triple cooked chips were ok.
The garlic new potatoes were actually excellent, definately the best offering of the afternoon.
The complimentary macaroons to celebrate our anniversary brought my overall opinion up to 3 stars.
I would recommend but only for the view and building.
M. C.
Good food, great views but very expensive for what it is, you are paying for experience and I would definitely recommend if you are visiting or want a special occasion
L. L.
Breathtaking view!
I enjoyed our lunch there, service was very friendly and very fast, it wasnt overly busy also. Incl. cocktail was very tasty, the food was good only the portions are too small, I would say for most people, and the ratio of 4 salad leafs to the huge chunk of mascarpone was a bit funny.
You can even store a suitcase at the restaurant cloakroom which I think is awesome. There is no bad seats also, the view is amazing and great for a celebration date.
K. G.
Really lovely restaurant, friendly staff, lovely food. Let down (hence the three stars) by the bar upstairs. We had a lovely seat looking out over London, then got asked to move up two seats in front of a massive plant to let two new people sit down where we were who then got the lovely view!!! And we got a plant to look at??? Why not just sit the newer people there instead???Thanks!!!
A. S.
Visit was a fabulous gift from friends. Would recommend it to others and would go again but maybe with more people. One side of the bar has a better view than the other and apparently there is a shift change at 4.30 to 5 so had to wait an hour for our food, not so good. On the whole a lovely way to spend a couple of hours after shopping!!😊
A. S.
Nice place for drinks. However does get hot in summer as AC is not effective.
T. L.
Beautiful views of the city in this unique building. The publicly open area is separated between two floors, bar on the top floor and restaurant just below.
Meals are set menu format. The champagne drinks trolley is a nice touch, but pricey.
Must book in advance.
Tip: try to get on their email list. They have specials every few months which are worth trying.
d. B.
The restaurant is lovely great views of London really nice food service in the restaurant is very good the wine is way too expensive . As for the bar at the top great views and that's about it as service is awful we asked for a window seat we was told we could not customers came up after us and got a window seat straight away. The restaurant is very good but the bar not worth it . 9 out of 10 for the restaurant 1 out of 10 for the bar .
K. D.
Rather disappointing experience. Very small stingy portions and big bucks in return! Needed magnifying glass to see the starters! Food quality was mediocre. Dessert selection was poor and nothing exciting. Worse part of it all was that it was terribly cold making the whole dining experience not only disappointing but uncomfortable.
Celebrated a friends birthday and they had promised a small cake- instead they brought a pathetic plate of chocolates! No candles!! Wouldn't recommend. The view was great but you can get this from other restaurants perched high up. So no big deal there. They need to beef up their portions not leaving guests hungry in search of a kebab afterwards. Also needed is better efficient service.
D. A.
Staff were lovely, but service was slow. Went just for the bar, a good selection of unique cocktails, champagne, wine and spirits. A small selection of beer however. The view is incredible and the staff are very good at making sure people get a table at the edge of the building.
G. B.
great restaurant, staff very professional but a little too pushy for you to finish your courses. food was fantastic however portions a tad on the small side. recommend worth a visit, but wouldn't go back.
S. B.
Absolutely fantastic restaurant, brilliant views of the city, wonderful staff, well worth a visit. However, be warned, despite the name, they do not sell single gherkins here. I asked.
S. A.
Celebrated our 5 year anniversary here today with a beautiful 4 course brunch with champagne and stunning city views. The breads, pastries, meats, salmon, eggs everything was so tasty. The staff were very professional and friendly and gave us an anniversary mini dessert. You must head up to the iris bar for the best 360^ views of the city. So bright up there and a great photo- Instagram moment. Thanks everyone
T. W.
Fabulous views, lovely ambience, delicious food, lovely cocktails and definitely a special place to go to for a special night.
A. G.
Me and my partner had great fun having drinks at the top of the gherkin however it has the poorest views of all the iconic buildings in London and the poorest atmosphere. The compulsory £50 booking fee which is redeemable against drinks is off putting and it shows - I’ve never seen the bar even half full at weekends. The sound is lost in the high ceilings meaning you’re not really sure what music is playing it’s more like noise. Lighting is extremely bright too, unusual for an upmarket bar.
R. K.
Great food and incredible view. Make sure you watch out on your wine bottle, it can get mixed up.
H. F.
Came for drinks at the bar. Quite a spectacular setting, with great views inside and out. Cocktails are good, £13-16 each, but we found the service slow - took over 10mins to flag someone down to ask for the bill and it was pretty empty by then. One waitress also didn't seem to be able to describe the cocktails. Worth it for the view but probably not your regular boozer.
D.
Great view but the food was tiny portions, and extremely overpriced. The decor was reminiscent of a airport lounge with false wooden countertops and could use a coat of paint! Pretty basic for dinner but I'd go back for drinks! As it's a very nice view and the best view is from the bar!
T. B.
Great food – creative menus and really well cooked. And as for the view over London? Simply fabulous.
Highly recommended.
C. A.
Great views, extremely attendive and friendly staff .
M. S.
I just did a event for 40 people yesterday. The staff was very kind and did a amazing job! Everything was perfect and well done. I loved the drinks and the food! I want to thank them for providing a amazing experiences to all of our guests.
C. C.
Went for Birthday celebrations and we had Afternoon Tea. Elena made it very special for us! Very friendly and made us feel like family! Highly recommend! 🙂😷
J. C.
Amazing views, great tasty flavoursome cocktails and the staff were very friendly
A. B.
Great food, but service did not meet expectations(forgive me for being pedantic but since the restaurant is positioned as a higher end I made my conclusions):
- The waiter forgot about my wine order and I had to remind him the name of the wine.
- Upon serving the wine, the waiter has not shown the bottle nor has asked for me or my companion to try.
- The bread was not replenished after we finished.
- Starter came within the minute that I ordered.
Overall: 3.5/5
Great for a meal with a client or coffee with a view, will certainly visit again for those purposes. For a proper dining experience, probably skip this one.
E. M.
A regular business lunch at different very good restaraurants and this was no exception except for the service. We waited 45 minutes to place our food order as the waiters had great difficulty in getting eye contact!! Food was excellent - dorset crab with celeriac (a little strong for the crab but still good) and well cooked sirloin steak. Extensive wine list - not cheap but what a view
j. h.
Very nice bar with amazing view, however it is quite noisy, the service is slow and the cocktails list limited.
H. C.
The view is unrivalled, ofcourse. The wine was lovely. The food was not!! I had a starter, confit mushroom, which came as a plate of beige globby blubber with some actual mushrooms on it. The texture of the glob, which tastes of miso, was extremely unappetising. The mains I ordered, chicken, was as unsubstantial as the dinner you get on an airplane. My partner chose different and had the same experience. His starter; three tiny slices of smoked salmon and some cucumber. Very underwhelming. The food was below par and we are usually very easygoing. However, the spectacular experience, the friendly service, getting drunk in the sky with 360 degree views over the city you adore, is such a treat. We had a take away after though!
T. D.
Food was great but the rest of the experience was lacking. Strange atmosphere with the large roof doesn't help. Ended up ordering three different types of wine as they only had one bottle of the first two however never informed us when ordering. Expect more for the price.
A. B.
Visited for Sunday brunch with a voucher. Service was very slick and friendly (no need to explain on vouchers and everything ready). Food was very nice and only slight downside that service felt too efficient if anything and slightly rushed through the courses. Would visit again.
I. W.
The service here is impeccable. The restaurant itself is not large but very comfortable.
The food is excellent and the same can be said for the wine we had.
This said, the main reason for coming here has to be the view across London which is amazing from so high up on the Gerkin Building.
Bit cheap but worth the visit just to see the view!
S. W.
Excellent fine dining with a lovely view. Staff were all great and the price not cheap but not extortionate.
F.
Fantastic views from the 38th floor. The service was also brilliant.
L. Y.
Attended a wedding here. The views of London are breathtaking.
m. p.
While it is admittedly a pricey choice, I think I can say it is the best restaurant I have been in London so far... the location of course is special and the customer service is top class. But even better, the quality of the food is absolutely worth. Great choice for a romantic meal.
R. E.
Absolutely stunning views from the restaurant. Quick and efficient if slightly cold service. Attended a work lunch here, conversation centred entirely around the view from the top. We were seated at a window facing table and that really added to the experience. Food was good, but the menu was a little limited; the burger was excellent.
Y. J.
Great food and service was excellent.iteas my first visit to this place. It was booked via book a table so the deal included 3 course meal and a cocktail. The food was delicious. The view was great. They have a bar which is one floor above the restaurant. Great views again.
D. G.
The staff were very attentive, the table position & view good, and the food of good quality.
However: we had the more expensive Tasting Menu and have the following comments which we made to our waiter and also the manager:-
The portions were far too small, and indeed overall much smaller than the ordinary 3 course menu which we observed on other tables. This was because we were given what were said to be half portions of two starters and half portions of two main courses - but without any side dishes, and we were not given the option for side dishes. It seems that this is the result of customers being in the hands of your staff, and the menu being delivered without modification except on dietary restrictions. At the extra price we would have expected a full menu to be included. Instead we had to supplement the meal with bread - we did have to ask twice for this because the first time it did not arrive. However we did not feel that bread was appropriate accompaniment with the courses.
We did point this out to our waiter before payment, who said that he would inform management of this, and we also told the manager after payment who was not aware of this. The manager was very polite, and offered us a drink on the house when we next come. However - will we come again?
S. H.
Great event hosted on top floor, great views and food
H. B.
Excellent cocktails and view, service was ok, however waiters looked so sad and like they didn't want to be there (apart from one waitress that came in later). Tables and chairs need updating as they were so wobbly and cheap, not the elegant look one would want in such a beautiful building.
A. C.
Drinks were great, views were better. A few snacks and nibbles were good also
J. F.
You're paying for the Ambience.
Firstly, the view and service were amazing as you can imagine. We had a very clear day and because of that the view over London was amazing. The windows were actually quite dirty when we were there but it didn't really matter too much, I guess if you are lucky enough to have booked directly after they've been cleaned then you're gonna have a perfect view.
Service was good, and all the tables are setup so you can see out well. The temperature was quite cold up there, I'm guessing the aircon was up quite high.
Now, this is for me where it fell down. The food was good, not amazing but good food. However, the portion sizes were ridiculously small. To clarify neither my wife nor I are "big" people. We had a bottle of wine (expensive even for London) and a couple of cocktails. We had a great night but it cost almost £200 for the both of us (I think it was £170 ish).
We had 3 courses and some drinks in the upstairs bar and we still left hungry! We actually ended up stopping for food on the way home. I have never in my life had that in a restaurant before, anywhere in the world. Especially not when you've paid that much.
I don't mind paying money for decent food but having visited Searcys once I would never go back. Possibly better of paying for the viewing tour in the Shard and then going to a decent restaurant in the West End and you'd have change left in your pocket for a taxi home.
If money is no object and it's a special occasion, sure, go for it but don't expect to feel like you've had the best value or the best meal.

It was OK. Went at 8pm in October. Too dark to see much of outside except for adjacent buildings. Service was very slow and could be due short staffing.
Need reservations.

I went to the bar on 40th floor and got the most amazing view of London city center! Since this bar is private, it was very quiet for a Friday evening which is great. The drink selection is not overly impressive but my house red wine was nice. Very good venue for a romantic date.
A. P.
Great meal staff very attentive looking a little tired in places.
B. F.
Just the place to go to unwind and enjoy the spectacular views of the city. The staff were very friendly and attentive. My husband works at the Gherkin and it's very handy to make us a reservation. Have been a few times and it's nice to see different themes everytime we went.
L. B.
We did have some issues however the team at Searcys certainly put things right, great service, lots of attention to detail. Food was delicious and with the help of the sommelier at Searcys we had excellent wines to compliment each dish.
Would definitely recommend a visit to they restaurant

Dinner at the restaurant bit... is well foodwise, it's completely underwhelming. Nothing wrong with it, but you are paying for the view. A glass of champagne... well unless you have something to celebrate, I'd steer clear if you want to have cash to cab home. However after dinner, we went upstairs to the bar... this definitely was more what I was expecting from the Summer Sky Riviera theme. It was plush yet casual beach chic. Such a shame it wasn't at all busy (9:30pm on Tue night). The menu was definitely on theme with cocktails named after French cities Nice, Marseille, etc... The view (depending on where you are sat) was just breathtaking! We didn't try the food, but it's pretty good value for the location and service. As to the cocktails - they looked good... and yes, they weren't bad but I would say, not very strong. I would definitely come back for cocktails with a view. Just needs some music...

So nice with very kind and lovely staff.definitely I come back again ❤️
L. T.
Breathtaking, great service and wonderful cocktails...

Another good place to eat great staff and some excellent views well worth a visit

It's their busiest day Friday's, so understandably staff are rushed, but they were all still polite and accomodating! we were 1hr late due to a train being cancelled, however they still did their best to accommodate us! Pornstar Martini was on point! and matched by the spectacular views across london! the atmosphere is amazing, with that chattering noise you get from busy places. Def on my 'to go again' list'

Lovely food and nice views

First thing you need to know about this restaurant is that roles are divided by gender: men take orders and women only greet and seat you. Also, man are dressed in elegant costumes. Women wear ultrashort burlesque mini dress - with nude lace lining on both sides of the dress, giving you the impression that they do not wear any underwear. Even my male colleagues felt disturbed by the sexist outfit.
Yes, the view is magnificent. BUT, the restaurant is betting all its cards on the view only. I ate there 4 days in a row and tried therefore the whole menu. The food and wine varies from very good to very bad - probably depending on the mood of the chef, however for the price you'd hope only for a very good experience. Also, we ordered a bottle of Riesling (from Austria If I remember well) for our client and it was extremely sweet - more like a Gewürztraminer. At the end we laughed at it together, but still - for the price they charge, this type of surprises should be avoided.

Lovely brunch. Great atmosphere and impressive views

Fun place to be and a reasonable attempt at good English food but a long way from value for money. Even if you are paying for the view it would be difficult to recommend wholeheartedly, yet. Their take on cod and chips was excellent though. The bar on the 40th floor is a must visit for the Gherkin's roof but in the sun the air-conditioning could not cope with the greenhouse effect.
M. B.
Very odd venue, a bit soulless. The view is amazing, but it is a very large space so can seem echo'y and not intimate or inviting. At night the venue lights a strange blue/purple colour reflect on the inside of the huge windows making it difficult to see the view.
P. C.
It's currently (early July 2018) doing a soft launch as an actual restaurant and bar, as opposed to a private club which is sometimes open to the public. Amazing all round: food, service, views. You have to pay a high price for all of this, but if you can afford it, it's certainly worth it for a special occasion.
A. F.
Went for lunch on our wedding anniversary. Ate from the set menu. Very good food and service with amazing 360" view of the city.
Had coffee in the iris bar at the very top and watched sun setting.
A real experience.
d. s.
We had Afternoon Tea here as a Birthday treat from my family the Veiw's Restaurant Staff & Food were all excellent
P.
Great staff and ambience. Lovely views. Only comments would be that at night, the lights inside are quite strong so give off a lot of reflection against the view. Also, the clear plastic chairs look a bit cheap.
P. R.
Great dining experience. Very sumptuous food
A. B.
Excellent atmosphere. Panoramic views. Staff are very polite. Food is great. Great experience
P. L.
Amazing food and very attentive service. Very hard not to be distracted by the 360 degree view of the city.
G. S.
The Gherkin is one of the most iconic buildings on London's skyline and is always a pleasure to visit.
G.
Nice fancy bar offering great selection of gin cocktails.
C. K.
Fantastic setting in this London landmark. Very attentive staff, friendly and knowledgable. Beautiful views over the London skyline.
R. L.
Went for drinks here. Amazing view and location and friendly staff. But service slow. Toilets being cleaned on a Friday night so couldn't use them and person working on reception on 34th floor wasn't very friendly.
J. C.
Awesome food, staff are great. Views are incredible! Definitely go there if just for the views.
It can be a little pricy though once you've added on a bottle of wine and a few drinks.
K. G.
Pros:
- view in bar is excellent
Cons:
- Mediocere food
- Overpriced
- Staff was too eager to get sales
- We askes for a table by the window when we reservated. When we arrived the table wasn’t ready. We could get a table on the seccond row or we had to wait for 30 min in the bar. We decided to wait but after 30 min we were offered a table on the second row again..
L. C.
A little rough around the edges (of the table) but the views are champion
R. H.
Food was okay, nothing special in particular. However excellent customer service and view was lovely, worth to try as a once-in-a-lifetime experience
W. T.
Food and service were very good, along with amazing view of London.
M. F.
Fabulous London panoramic views from the top level bar snuggled under The Gerkin's glass roof. Good range of drinks plus nibbles. Highly recommended and remember to book well ahead.
T. F.
Went here on Sunday afternoon, didn't see much of a view because Of The rain I will definitely go back up on a clearer day. I thought the cocktails were nice and except to pay that price overall I had a nice afternoon.
S. P.
Exceptional food, and service to match as you'd expect. Good for a smart evening meal, followed by a drink in the bar at the summit. 360 Views of the city are great. Pricing is appropriate to the venue and quality.

We were really looking forward to our experience at Searcy's, however it turned out to be nothing more than a big disappointment. We decided on a set menu - 3 courses + a glass of bubbly. Our halloumi starter was very simple and lacked a fine touch or taste. Venisson did not impress us either, far from cooked to perfection. The meat was chewy and not very tasty. The coconut mousse was a disappointment too, some of waitrose deserts are more premium.. Besides, the service was rushed - we were not allowed a proper break between the starter and the main. Lastly, the lights in the restaurant were too strong, killing the ambiance. Overall, we found it way overpriced and won't be coming back.
s. r.
It was a nice experience with a la carte menu. Food was ok but little portions and sides cost extra. Would recommend it for the fantastic view
M. D.
Menu was all bread based. Cheese board extra £6 was embarrassing for them
P. P.
Superb location to enjoy a cocktail and take in the magnificent views across London.
The staff are very friendly and helpful with a professional attitude to ensure you are completely happy with your visit.
R. A.
See my review of the Gherkin...I gave this place a good review. Bullet points though... Brilliant place, excellent dome bar, staff friendly...see my other writing...I'm not putting that down again, took me ages.
We will be back....a choice between the Shard and this place...this place hands down. Don't get me wrong, the Shard is superb too but it's such a noisy overcrowded faff ! At the Gherkin I felt looked after and my ears weren't damaged. The other thing to remember is the crowds of folk in the Shard who think standing over you while you eat while they take photos of the view never stop, even when told to get lost!
But I won't go on, I did like the Shard for some of its attributes...who designed the flamin lifts !? Easy to get around in the Gherkin..(but I'm not moaning...much)
Top stuff fellas. R

Absolutely terrible customer service. We had a fairly nice meal (unfortunately the view was obscured by cloudy weather but that wasn't the restaurant's fault). However, the problems started after we left. For some reason our booking was marked as a no-show, despite us turning up 15 minutes before our reservation time and staying for approximately 2 hours. I was subsequently charged the £50/head no-show fee, without any warning or notification. I only spotted it on my credit card statement afterwards.
I then queried this with the management who asked me to provide evidence that we attended our booking, despite it being their screw-up and despite there being numerous other bits of evidence they could find that we attended (which, understandably, made me a little bit frustrated). This is currently on going, but the arrogant and presumptious attitude of the management is atrocious. I would never come back here, even once they refund me the no-show fee (which I'm sure they will eventually!).
UPDATE: They have finally pulled their finger out and agreed to provide the refund (without me having to send them evidence). However, the accusatory nature of the whole interaction was terrible and the customer service was pretty abysmal. Suffice to say, I won't be coming back.
FURTHER UPDATE: The MD of Searcys got in touch with me to apologise and handled the thing fantastically well. Although my experience immediately after the meal wasn't great, they have eventually dealt with it very well.
s. k.
The views are better during the day. At night they are a bit underwhelming. The food is pretty decent though.
a. s.
Relatively good with people with allergies but not a great variety. Mediocre food at best.
E. A.
The service was a bit haphazard and the sizes of the starters differed a lot; my partner had the ham terrine and I had the raddichio which was about double the size. Great views on a clear day. Couldn't get into the toilets because a group of women had claimed the entire room for themselves and kept the door shut. Bit weird.
K. W.
Wonderful food and amazing views. The reservations team were incredibly helpful and very friendly. I went for a birthday and was made to feel very special
T. P. F. W. W.
Something feels a little special when you are at Searcys, the ambience is second to none as visitors enjoy beautifully presented cocktails and food in what feels like a giant domed conservatory atop of the iconic Gherkin in the heart of London City with 360 degree views across the wonderful London skyline
K. C.
Nice evening out. We used a buyagift voucher which meant we had a different menu. Food was alright but wouldn't personally buy without menu. Sizes were pretty small.
S. M.
Can't comment on the food as was only there for a meeting, but the venue's really smart and views over London are stellar.
J. T.
Been on the top floor of Searcy's and it sports an amazing view. They also provide free wifi (although connection can be unstable at times). I would recommend this for fancy private events. They also do sumptuous food - probably the best canapes I've tasted in my life.
J. C.
Excellent great food great view 👌
L. A.
I was only here as part of the NSPCC fundraiser where mad people run up the Gherkin. I took the lift and drank fizzy wine while admiring the view. It's a nice enough space, has good views, but the expanse of glass made me wonder (especially when the sun came out) if it would feel like sitting in a greenhouse on a sunny day. I don't know if the furniture is actually the restaurant furniture or just cheap stuff brought in for sweaty runners to sit on. Not sure I'd make the effort to visit for a meal on the rare occasions the public are allowed in.
C. C.
brilliant experience and beautiful views over London!
very good & nicely presented food. kind and helpful staff.
good value for money.
highly recommendable for a special occasion.
S. D.
Great food, staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Place is very clean and tidy. The panoramic view of London from the place is gorgeous!
A. s.
Wonderful from start to finish !
I must say it is worth visiting as the view is stunning. Staff are more than perfect, food is amazing & delicious, drinks were great as well. Will return very soon
D. B.
Great views. Just too noisy.
S. M.
Fantastic meal, suspense service and spectacular views.
Well worth a visit 👍🏻
A. T.
Visited The Gherkin on a couple of occasions. It's great view and atmosphere. We visited last week but unfortunately our table wasn't booked for the time requested. This was a bit disappointing. It was nonetheless a great experience that I will treasure as it's not every day that you get to go.
D. H.
Great food. Wonderful views, despite the rain!
A. G.
I was expecting this restaurant to be all about the view. It turns out that the food and service (for brunch) were equally as good. Highly recommend!
A. S.
Amazing views over the City of London whilst eating very nice food.
L. P.
Amazing...food was very tasty, service amazing. Didn't feel rushed and table by the window gave us great views of London even though a grey and misty evening.
N. W.
Iconic venue with stunning views. We were able to stay for longer than our booking so could enjoy the live music. Was a great night
U. K.
The view is really nice. Food is delicious but as it's kind of "fancy" restaurant, the dishes are quite small. So, don't go there to get full.
M. M.
Very efficient and smooth with a polished finish. Worth the being there for the view. Personally used a voucher and was surprised by extras as had set menu but food as expectedcwas suppurb. Lovely night out
P. C.
It was delicious. Fast and professional service. Friendly staff and wonderful food, Catering well to my lactose intolerance. Thank you all

A lovely birthday meal. Beautiful views, yummy food.. the mocktail was tasty and fab service.
F.
Great View ober the rooftops of London.
A. K.
Excellent food and views. The bar however was completely empty.
D. H.
Only went to the bar for cocktails, lovely venue, great views of nighttime London skyline, service was good, cocktails well presented, but felt they were lacking a bit on the alcohol side, a dash more would help
B. B.
Great views, great service, and food surprisingly good for an "experience".
T. K.
Not as nice as I thought it would be, me I choice is very small and not much on there, tables and chairs look like it’s something you would put in a canteen, and it looks tacky, chairs are very uncomfortable. Food ain’t that great either.
O. A.
Good service, however food wasn't tasty nor distinct
L.
Live music very unpleasant. Not sure if it is the acoustic of the place or the equipment. Service... good. Food... average. Bill...high. Views... well that's what you are paying for! 😉
B. A.
This is about the 30|40 bar on the very top of the Gherkin. When you come up the final steps that lead to the bar at the top, the view just blows you away. It reminded me a bit of a glass capsule that is hovering above London. The view is 360, something you don’t get anywhere else. If you look up, you see two things: the only piece of glass of the Gherkin that is curved (on the very top) - and an amazing sky view, of course :)
P. F. (.
Food was divine! A very special treat! For stunning views and the real feeling of intimacy this place cannot be beaten...
L. R.
Really good service, fantastic views and wonderful food.
E. C.
No atmosphere
Food average
Needs a rethink to make it work
V. J.
Great place ...for no booking costs. Light was too bright and did smell like fish though. But the employees were very nice
G. P.
Lovely atmosphere and breathtaking view ❤️
J. R. G.
Unique spot with some delicious seafood dishes. The toilet facilities were unexpectedly poor.
C. U.
Our son got married here. Every aspect of it was totally brilliant. What an amazing experience. Well done to everyone who works there.
C. P.
Absolutely amazing , intimate Iris bar. Lovely staff. Great cocktail menu. Will definitely be back ☺️
J. H.
Fabulous cocktails and views across London.
H. A.
The food was good but of course it's all about the setting. Unfortunately it's a bit dark due to the glass but the view and the building itself are stunning
V. A.
Amazing Place food and service excellent
J. B.
" Last weekend I had the pleasure to have some drinks at the Gherkin. The view was espectacular, the drinks perfectly prepared, but definitively what I enjoyed the most is the warm and personable level of service of my waitress. Her name is Cinzia, a young lady who was very corteous and attentive. I have been to your establishment before but this is by far my best experience. My compliments to your restaurant, the team and especially to Cinzia for making our experience just unforgetable".
K. N.
Beautiful view, great food. Didn't have the chance to try the cheese trolley, which is a shame, as it was fairly groaning under the weight of some amazing looking cheeses.
L. S.
Amazing views and food
J. B.
360 Degree views of London. Drinks are expensive but you are paying for the nice views of London and having a drink. Its cheaper than the Shard which is £30 to go to top 72nd floor
A.
We had our company's Christmas dinner. It was such a nice atmosphere and very good food. Definitely a very good choice.
K.
Tasty food and a good view
F. C.
Iconic restaurant with amazing views, lovely food and great service!!
N. P.
A perfect brunch spot to enjoy unparalleled views of London city. Had a delicious 3 course lunch there and will be coming again!
L. O.
Thought I would change it, nothing wrong with anything with food and drink. Just not memorable enough I would want to go back.
A. C.
Great service, excellent food and an outstanding view.
A. H.
Lovely setting for a beverage and easy to book into. Be warned it’s expensive but worth the cost of a beverage for the view
E. s.
What an amazing view and a really great experience although I don't think that the food is good but not necessarily worth the money and the whole serviced felt a bit rushed
J. C.
The Venison was off the chart and the service was faultless. Bravissimo!
K. B.
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, food was quite simple and nice
To much salt in one of them but can happen to anyone.the experience we as great I general
D. K.
The 360 degree view on a clear day is surreal with the open view if the sky.I f you sitting t facing the Heathrow the taking off flights approaching you gives a beautiful feeling
C. H.
Popped in for lunch, service was good and delicious food. Had a window seat so views were fabulous
M. D.
Food was incredibly average, even though it was very reasonably priced (£55/head for 3 courses)...atmosphere and decor were excellent though
R. a.
Beautiful location. Attended a Xmas party here last year. Food was good and staff were super friendly.
