Went for a friend's birthday. Warm welcome, although the staff took long to bring out the salad and bread with the sauces at the start (1hour) and they delayed in taking the orders. Food was good nothing amazing. Be careful the floors are slippery.

I ordered lamb iskender here and it was absolutely delicious! The meat melted in my mouth! The flavours were 10/10. Also I would like to add that the customer service here was great! Waiters constantly asked us if we needed anything and we were served with complimentary Turkish tea and Turkish baklava at the end of our meal. It was totally worth it! This place deserves the extra service charge they received with our bill. Would definitely come back!

The restraunt was lovely and was quite busy. Food tastes great although a bit dear in price. The great thing is After 18:30 parking in the area is free plus all the meats are Halal.

This restaurant has the most friendly staff and the best care, not to mention the food which was divine! Lots of different options to choose from and lots of flavour. The service was fantastic and the waiters were amazing, I’d like to point out one waiter in particular (Zinar) who waited on our table the most. He was always watching our table for any flaws or anything missing, we didn’t have to ask him for anything as he knew what was missing and just brought it straight to our table. It was a great experience. I would definitely recommend this place and I will be going many more times myself.

Whether you are an all-time fan of homemade style kebabs or simply love Turkish food, Selale is the place to go. The food is always fresh from the grill, and the staff are always friendly. Romi is one of the team leaders; he knows the menu so well. He will always recognise you as a loyal customer and will offer the best of the menu every time, so good he could run Selale himself I highly recommend this shop. Enclaved at the top of Green Lanes, it will never disappoint.

My father is a big lover of Turkish cuisine so I decided to take him and my mother to Selale on Father’s Day. All three of us really loved our experience there, the decor was beautiful, the staff were quick and polite and the food was well cooked and enjoyed. Would visit again!

Clean, Healthy and Fresh food served here with the same standards every time I have been going here for the last 5 years . On Top of that the Staff are just awesome and friendly. UPDATE - Can was very professional in the way he acted with the complaint, I’ve taken the stars Upto 3 as I am very happy with how the issue has been resolved. Why do the staff here force service charge even if the service wasn’t great? The staff were very aggressive and were belittling me. So being pressured I ended up paying. I feel like the food was decent but staff need to be retrained or give good service if they have to charge service charge. Can I also mention service charge is a CHOICE. And if I feel the service is not good I don’t have to pay.

I work myself in the restaurant business and by now I can tell how much care was put in every detail such as: the size of the table and chairs, floor condition, Music Playlist, air conditioner etc., believe this restaurant have it on top of their game!!! Selale is a great place to go, whether you are planning a friends dinner, family gathering (small and big), date or just a casual lunch! The food is delicious- always fresh and always served with love. Staff is extremely attentive, kind, friendly and make you feel like you are at home! Importantly, there are plenty vegetarian options to choose from and if you are vegan, staff will make sure they can adapt to your request! I love the new look of the place inside and out! Those turquoise sofas and plated are the hallmark of this wonderful restaurant. A must go to! Brilliant venue for my sister's birthday. Great atmosphere and ambience. Staff went above and beyond with joining in the birthday celebrations. Massive portions of food (we got 2 'small' platters and literally had a whole one left over). Complimentary starters tea and baklava all very delicious. Visited Selale Restaurant after maybe 5 years. But surprisingly did not come here for Turkish food as such. On their Instagram page I noticed that they Dry aged steaks. As a meat lover me and my mates went for our meat fix. Had their T bone steak it was a very good size and the presentation was nice served with pan fried vegetables, chips and peppercorn sauce. The steak was ok something was missing was a touch bland and didn't have that smoky taste to it. Have to come back for some Turkish food. The place has been renovated very nice and looks amazing.

Superb! Not local for us, we drove for an hour to get to this lovely restaurant which my children had visited previously. So glad we made the journey. Fantastic food, great service. Loved the salad, bread and yoghurt that they gave us on arrival- and which they topped up along the course of the food. The chicken and lamb were cooked perfectly. We were made to feel very welcome and offered Turkish tea and Baklava at the end. Really impressed with the staff and the service which made the entire evening perfect!

I went to this restaurant for the first time, the restaurant is nice and big. The staff are friendly. The food is good, overpriced food and the portions are small. I was quite surprised when we used the ketchup and mayonnaise, it was a cheap version refilled in branded bottles - the bottles looked quite used - this is unhygienic. Not impressed.

For the amount and portion it was definitely a bit over priced. Portion of rice and Bulgar wheat was less than expected. We went in the afternoon. Treating the kids for working really hard for their 11+. It wasn't packed and noisy. Enjoyed our time. The plates are small. Looked like side dish instead of a dinner plate. They need to change the sizing of their plate. Baklava was over cooked and wasn't soft and moist. Hardly any stuffing inside. The cheek of their waiter, tried to charge £6 for service charge! What service charge? Maybe thought we are a newbie and would just happily pay whatever they charge us. LOL! New to Selale (I've eaten once before) but not to Turkish restaurants.

Always a fantastic experience and the food is simply amazing. I’ve been to many Turkish restaurants in London especially in Greenlanes (where there are lots of competitors) but this place is just on a different level. Very friendly staff and efficient service. If you want a memorable experience and GREAT food, this is the restaurant to come to. Highly recommended!

If you are craving meat then this is the place for some juicy Turkish grill. You can't go wrong with the Selale special if you're not sure what to get (feeds 3-4). Buttery rice and barley, and seasoned tasty meat and fish. Has recently had renovations done, good for big crowds, open till late.

Amazing food Real authentic Turkish food. Meat products are lovely. I will say "definitely better than Miller Carter or Browns" If the love meat this is the place. Perfect taste ,marinated meat, perfection of cooking.Not burnt,neither not overly cooked. Mezes are delicious as well.One down side was ICLI KOFTE WAS little bit funny taste. ( I think the item does not sell frequently so it was probably not as fresh as others meze) When I cut it,it smelled funny. However the place deserves 5* . The waiter Zora was very attentive.

One of the best Turkish places in the area. The customer service was exceptional! Staff were extremely kind and we were made to feel welcome as soon as we stepped in. Been perhaps a hundred of times over 10 years. Used to be a wonderful local establishment. However, since the remodel, the service has really gone down hill. It's gotten much busier (lovely for them really, glad their business has improved), but they seem overwhelmed and not yet equipped to handle the new rush.

Booked a month early for a table of 20. On the day, we were given 2 separate tables of 10?! So not the best idea and we had to negotiate pretty hard to resolve this. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and busy so a good atmosphere is guaranteed... However, whilst it is reasonably priced, the food is pretty underwhelming considering how delicious Turkish food can be.

I like the layout of the restaurant, in some of the others in the area you can feel a bit boxed in because there are so many tables but this spot is nice and spacious. Prices are about the same as everywhere else on the street , portions are maybe a tad smaller but the value for money is great, there were 5 of us and with a big platter and a few bottles of wine the bill came in at £140. Will definitely be back again.

UPDATE: Prices are rocketing and this place became very expensive for my family of five. Very disappointed that I cannot come here that often. Also way too crowded! There is no shortage of Turkish restaurants in this part of London, but this one stands out thanks both to the ambience and the quality of the food. You do have to pay a little more here than at some of the other restaurants, but you really do get a lot for your money, and by the time you've worked your way through starters, mains and dessert, you'll have eaten enough to keep you going for the rest of the day, and quite possibly with a doggie bag to take home for supper or lunch the next day. When the local Turkish population seems happy to pack this place out every evening, you know they're doing something right, and if you love Turkish food and are in the area then it's worth treating yourself at least once to the Selale experience.

I've been here several times and the staff are always friendly. At busy nights, you may have to wait to be seated especially if you're are big group. Once your seated, the waiter takes your order, and brings out a complementary bread, salad and dips which is nice. The food has always been fantastic especially the mix grills with rice. The drinks are on the expensive side but that's most restaurants nowadays. When we finished our meal, we always get some delicious Turkish tea and deserts (baklava) again all complementary.

There are about a dozen Turkish restaurants on Green Lanes north of the tracks. Selale is the northernmost, and in some ways it's definitely the best. The owners and staff are thoughtful, accomodating, and take real pride in their family recipes. The stews are better and more interesting than average, meals come with good big salads and a bowl of yogurt-like sauce, and the atmosphere, especially if you sit outdoors (it might be the only restaurant between Manor House and Wood Green with a decent outdoor patio), is laid-back and agreeable. Service is excellent. Been there many times, never been disappointed. Very unpretentious, honest, and it grows on you over time.

One of the better restaurants in Green lanes, its quite large and noisy, seats about 100, however it is not imperssonal, a good size main course including a salad served as a starter , wine, baklava and tea was £16 per head including tip! Bargin. There are queues at the weekend but due to being at the northern end of the strip and large dining capacity, you dont usually have to wait long.
