Reviews of SpiceBox Restaurant Walthamstow
J. M.
Excellent service, mediocre food.
I waited three days before writing this review, trying to decide whether I should write one at all. Reason being, the service, especially by the lady with the American accent (my apologies if I've got that wrong), was excellent.
They even removed one of the dishes from our bill as we didn't like it.
Unfortunately, that's as good as it got. The food wasn't great and the restaurant has not catered for families with children as there was nothing, food nor drink, that any "normal" eight year old could would happily consume. There was no sparkling water or lemonade on the menu. My daughter spent most of the evening picking at her food and asking for more sugar in her fresh lime soda.
We visited here as a party of seven, all Indians, and we all felt that by trying to give North Indian dishes a western twist, that they'd lost the essence of Indian street food.
Also, we all felt that the prices of dishes were that of what you'd find in a non-vegetarian restaurant, say for a chicken dish.
This place is great to visit if you want to try something different. Perhaps bring a date here.
Three stars for the excellent customer service.
P. S.
Great modern interpretation of Indian cuisine, amazingly rich vegan fair with umami out the ears for everything on the menu. The Shroom Keema is incredibly rich and delicious, and the Dhansak is very bright and tasty. The naan was perfect for dipping into both, and the Lassi was perfectly refreshing to balance the saltiness of the mains. Definitely pricy for the portions, but all the food is very filling, so we left full. Highly recommend a try for anyone into veg modern Indian.

Best Indian restaurant I’ve been to.
Amazing vibe. The team was super friendly and welcoming. The food was spot on… I even bought their book! We travelled all the way to Walthamstow and it was totally worth it.

Went for such a lovely dinner last night and the food is AMAZING. Can't remember the last time I had an Indian meal that fresh but the real star was the service. All the staff were happy, smiling and super friendly and deserve a huge shout out for making the meal even better. I'll be back - just try and stop me! Thanks guys
S. M.
Loved the vibe, ambience and the staff was super friendly.
I wouldn't recommend for like a big family get together - maybe for 3-4ppl max.
Like - friends meet up/date for two kinda vibe.
Other than the kheema and the jackfruit vindaloo, others were absolutely wonderful! (Madras, Tikka, Korma, Pani Puri etc etc).
Slightly on the pricey side, but then again most Vegan restaurants nowadays are.
Go with an open mind, and you'll like it.

Brilliant vegan indian. Options of classics for those that miss them being vegan, Korma/Masala. That wasn't the draw for me and the rest of the menu had more than enough to suit my taste! Also a tasty own brew on the drinks menu.
Have grown to love a roti over the years but had the vegan naan and was very pleased!
Service was brilliant and attentive (but not over the top thank goodness), happy and friendly staff also made a huge impact on the vibe.
Planning to join the tiffin club and would definitely eat there again.

We made our debut visit to Spice Box in early Feb 2019 - all round a brilliant experience. My wife and I aren’t vegan and we both found this another great example of myth busting that vegan food can’t be incredibly tasty. We both had the full Indian breakfast from the brunch menu. Tasty, with amazing flavours and very filling. And great value for money also. We’ll be back for dinner.
G. P.
Vegan food full of yummy goodness! A lot of thought has gone into these dishes and you can taste it from the very first bite of each dish. Make sure you book a table in advanced as the place gets busy and fills up very quickly. The portion sizes are a perfect amount; before you know it, you are full! Highly recommend the cashew and coconut chick’n korma and the jackfruit jalfrezi. Order with rice and roti. Loved the onion Bhaji - it was so crunchy! The great thing about the dishes at Spice box is that you can’t even tell you’re not eating meat.. the flavours are that delicious! Take your non vegan/non vegetarian friends and I guarantee you they won’t be able to tell that they’re eating 100% plant based dishes. Love this place, you won’t be disappointed!
B. B.
This curry house is over the top amazing. Delicious and flavourful meals and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Will come again!
K. M.
Amazing food! I had take away twice and both times everything was great, fast, tidy and reasonably priced making this restaurant my favourite take away in the neighbourhood! Loaded bhaji by far my favourite dish!
F.
Loved it!! Absolutely delicious food served by a really passionate team. They've created a lovely little restaurant with a great Indian vibe in this corner of North East London 👌 Went for brunch and had the Thali (with an extra paratha) and doffles (dosa waffles) with fried soya 'chicken'.
T. J.
Eaten at this cosy, vibrant restaurant twice now and loved it both times. You can see and taste the hard work and passion that has gone into this amazing venture. It takes us 40 minutes to travel here and it's worth it! Good prices too for such excellent food. We (2 ppl) were stuffed and nicely drunk on £52!
Make sure you have the chick'n'tikka starter.
G. S.
Wow this place is tasty. Had a delivery and it comes in a cool little Tiffin stack. Fragrant Dal, amazing korma, delicious Bombay potatoes
S. A.
Lovely food, would recommend. Now if only your drinks range was as good as your food menu, it'd be the perfect takeaway. Please add a coke or something!
Y. C.
The waffles got nice flavour, however, it probably sitting a side for a while , whole texture is too hard . Chai is a bit boring... could be stronger, richer.
M. T.
Vibrant and super friendly place with attentive staff and delicious food. Everything is vegan, but with excellent chicken and prawns substitutes in many dishes, non-vegans will love it too. The Goan 'praun' curry was fantastic, and the mango lasso afterwards was delicious :) will definitely be back.

Best brunch menu and vegan food I’ve had in so long. Such attentive service and great recommendations! Spicy Mary was insane! 🌶
M. W.
Spice box is THE BEST curry you will ever have! We drive an hour round trip every week just for a spice box! Amazing flavours and the quality is excellent. You don't get that dehydrated rubbish feeling the next day like you do with other takeaways. We also have the spice box cook book which has some amazing recipes! Thank you Grace for creating spice box! :)
S.
Great food, but the service is slow and the bill was billed slightly incorrectly. But all in all very good vegan restaurant in the area!
G. C.
Amazing Indian takeaway! The best in Walthamstow! I didn't even care it was all vegan. The flavours were incredible and all so fresh - not oily one bit. You can tell so much passion goes in to making each dish. I will be recommending for sure!
S. M.
Great selection of excellent vegan food. Very good service and the staff where friendly and helpful. Recommend getting snacks, naan, rice and a main to experience the full taste; if it's too much they will bring take away pots for you.
J. X.
The staff are friendly and the setting is cozy. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t tastier/more creative than cheaper places offering the same cuisine, so the price is kind of ridiculous :-/
It’s a shame that supporting local business has come to mean paying £12.50 for a happy meal and £3 for a lassi out of a carton.
T. B.
Delicious vegan Indian food, staff are absolutely delightful and they even help you working out the bill, brilliant!
B. Z.
Delicious !!! So many options. I would recommend this place if you have want to try a true Indian vegan curry!! So authentic :)
E. H.
Absolutely amazing takeaway food from Spice Box for us veggies! The only sad thing is that it arrived cold, but it was horrendous weather, and there were heating instructions for if you had a microwave (we didn't!).
However, I emailed to let them know about the heat of the food and I could not have asked for better customer service. They really went out of their way to make me feel like a valued customer and sent me a gift.
Overall, the food was incredible after a quick heat up in the pan, and staff are super friendly. Thanks SpiceBox, will be back!
S. W.
8/10. Should have called it Sharon Box! The meat wasn’t true meat but it was better meat. Ideal for a meeting haha! Honestly lovely dishes of different sizes! Honestly beautiful. If you had seen me you’d have been like ‘omg Sharon you ok, you look full of beautiful food.’ Haha, love you fans! X
R. M.
The food is generally good and what we ordered was tasty enough. My issue is the price and the portions. I’m not vegan or vegetarian but I love vegetarian Indian food, usually if the South Indian variety and curries in general. The concept it a great one but I really can’t help but feel that the bells and whistles over the menu is some sort of cruder justification of the price. The curries on offer are as expensive, if not more so than non veg/vegan options, which might be fine, if the portions justified it. For me, paying over £6 for tarka dal that arrived in your bog standard rectangular plastic pot was taking the mick. I resented paying so much for something which I know doesn’t cost much to make but leaving that aside, is priced at least £2 more than other equally good restaurants. As a side point, South Indian food is generally vegetarian and vegan friendly (you only have to go to Wembley or parts of green street to see them labelled as authentic veg and meat free). I can’t help but think that some restaurants have really banked into the marketing of ‘vegan friendly’ food and used it as an opportunity to hike up prices, and in this case, the price simply doesn’t reflect the quantity or quality of the food.
Next time I want decent vegan grub, I’ll order from the less glitzy restaurants. They may not have a sparkling menu full of enticing graphics but the food and price will be worth it.
J. M.
Amazing food! I have not had a chicken korma (which was my favourite dish) since I've given up meat 5 years ago. Spice Box offer a vegan version and it is the best korma I have ever had! Staff are so friendly and welcoming. We ended the night with a Chai tea, which I would highly recommend! Will definitely return.
E. L.
Tasty vegan curries and have reusable containers to buy but like several other vegan eateries, they use a lot of disposable plastic, relying on the fast food disposable model - even before covid considerations. Truly compostable containers, please?
M. M.
Best Indian I've ever had. Service was excellent. Waiters were prompt and responsive. We sat at the table a while after we'd finished eating and did not feel rushed by the staff to leave once we had our meal, as they would in other places.
Cute and relaxed atmosphere, GREAT food, excellent service.
C. l.
Omg this place is just amazing. I went here last night with friends and we were all blown away. The onion bhaji was fantastic and we got 3 curry’s to share which were all amazing. I’m not a vegetarian or vegan but really enjoyed this meal. If I could eat here every day then I think I would become vegan. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. Also everything was very reasonably priced.Already looking forward to my next visit.
H. B.
Overall it was OK. The food was really interesting, definitely not the usual Indian. Tiny portions though and rice was super overpriced. The main issue we had was that for such a small place and enough staff, they looked so flustered all the time and were basically not working as a well-oiled machine, which I think is so important when everything you do is in front of the customer. I think they are all doing their best but there's definitely more to be done. Good luck!
K.
Wow, had a superb meal here.
Ambiance is nice - the tables are in a glass roofed section which is really light and bright decor.
Service was really friendly and also quick.
Food was AMAZING. Seriously seriously tasty, flavors were all very different for the various dishes we ordered and the layers of spice built beautifully. Vegan food at its finest (and loved by everyone in our party comprised entirely of non-vegans). I will be back!
P. K.
Fantastic food! Best vegan chicken I've ever had! All of the dishes were up to high standard. Order much more as the portions are really tiny even the naan is around half of your usual naan.
E. H.
So good. The brunch menu is full of fresh, fabulous flavours and I'll be back to try their dinner menu soon. We're so lucky to have such a great modern Indian restaurant in Walthamstow and it's a well deserved instant hit.
If you're worried that vegan isn't for you, trust me I'm a meat eater and you won't miss the meat; the chick'n is a revelation.
Staff were lovely and super friendly.
L. O.
Absolutely delicious food & amazing service. The staff made us feel so welcome & even a couple of my meat-eating mates said they were tempted to go vegan! To top it all off the decor and atmosphere were every bit as vibrant as the food. Loved it.
R. R.
Great interior and friendly staff
Loaded Bajji is a must!
Jackfruit jalfrezi not too spicy.
Keema was tasty and great texture with the walnuts
Also get the boozey Lassi.
Don’t forget a Paratha!
H. A.
I brought my work colleagues to SpiceBox to introduce them to vegan food (as I’m a vegan myself) while we all were incredibly impressed with the food, the service really let the experience down. Waiting times were fine, but the attitude of the staff was pretty cold and unwelcoming. As 6 estate agents, I know we’re not the usual clientele of an all vegan restaurant, but there was no need to be so uninterested and bored of us. They were rude and unfriendly. I had spent 12 years in hospitality and if my staff had spoken to a table like that, I’d have them retrained.
Amazing food, poor service and dirty toilet. Super shame.
T. S.
Fantastic, authentic tasting vegan curries. The Puri cannot be missed (and you dont get them as part of the sharing starter, so make sure you order seperately). The Chick'IN tastes and feels just like real chicken (I'm a meat eater), but my wife who is Vegetarian hated the texture so if you are vege because you don't like meat I would steer clear. The spice box branded beer was also very tasty.
M. M.
Had a takeaway from here. Not cheap, but very good quality vegan food. Service could have been faster but they are a new business finding their feet, so I imagine this will improve. The manager was a genial chap who ensured that I did not leave without my popadums. I'd recommend the chic'n cashew korma. Best chic'n ev'r.
***
Update: went in for sit down meal. Was totally brilliant and service was ace. As soon as I told them I was gluten free they took a lot of care over my meal choices to ensure I ate the right things. I like that they have guest menus, as more traditional curry houses tend to keep the menu unchanged. Do go here and eat curry. Whether you are vegan or not, you will love it!
d. c. (.
Nice place for brunch but on the pricey side. 12£ for main breakfast without extras and £2.50 for a small filter coffee. The dish could of done with something to freshen it up. Waffles were a bit dry and Bombay potatoes over fried and bitter. The breakfast thali came with two nice curries but only one paratha. £2.25 for an extra one. Really could do with a small portion of rice!
A. H.
The food is very, very good. The restaurant itself is small and cosy. You'll be sat close to other people but it doesn't feel uncomfortable. The fake chicken is unbelievably good. I think it actually tastes better than real chicken. Great first experience, will definitely go again 👌🏻
K. L.
Have been 3 times, twice for brunch and this restaurant is truly exceptional. The 3rd visit was a special occasion.
The KFC at brunch is sensational. Full English also good and the dinner selection, well where to start?
Great curries. Absolutely lovely and nice accompaniments and booze to go with.
Hope they open next brunch in Chingford, would be popular.
P. B.
Tonight was a 10/10 experience. It was clear they were busy, but it never felt like it: the service was brilliant, personal and attentive; the food was quick to arrive, with perfectly sized portions and amazing flavours and combinations. We shared their mixed starter, a chick'n curry with 3 grain pilau rice (spot on) and the dahl (understandably award winning!) - we were beautifully full after that, but obviously made space for their biscoff and cardamom dessert that was brought in by the loveliest and smiliest chef!
H. G.
We happened upon this restaurant and we are so glad we went in! We shared: the street food starter and the chickpea curry, along with a side of rice and naan-- and wow, the food was so, so good! We live nearby and have been thinking about getting a takeaway here for some time - we shouldn’t have waited so long! It’s really delicious vegan food and they were great at adapting dishes to be soya free.
T. A.
Whaaaat?! Vegan curry that tastes this good. It's tempting to think they've slipped in some ghee, but apparently it's legit. The dhals are all good based on trying two (not even the one that won best in Britain!)
R. M.
Hi Grace,
sorry, this is the only way I can replay to your response on my earlier review. thank you for responding and I appreciate that this has been a tough old time and delivery companies are the only ones that seem to be making a profit at the moment. its good to have someone clarify that and I totally get the cost of the food, that was a lazy and flippant remark from me about it being as expensive as meat options. really, why shouldn't it be? although I still think that the daal was a touch too much for what it was but again, that's just based on me spending a lifetime eating daal. I would love to try your restaurant in person. I have walked past a few times but it has been closed so I will be sure to pop in and have a meal. as I said the food was generally nice. wishing you the very best. Rabia
M. D.
Had takeaway, and joing their tiffin tin club, and it was very good. The curry was very tasty, and the pickle tray was spicy.
Only 4 stars because we didn't eat in, but I'd expect it to be good service given the quality of the food.
J. N.
Banging veggie Indian takeaway - best we’ve had in a long long time. The daal in set menu B was a little watery and could have done with a more robust (and less cumin-y) flavour, but the paneer korma stole the show. Pickles were worth it too. Tiffin tin’s are a great idea: sturdy, no leakage and (amazingly) kept the food warm for 1hr on the way home. Totally recommend, and worth the premium
T. B.
Went to Spicebox for the first time for their weekend brunch, and was blown away by it. Everything, from the spiced Bloody Marys to the gorgeous food, was superb - full of flavour and deeply satisfying. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. Just go!
A. S.
Went to SpiceBox for brunch after trying the curries on their dinner menu. Brunch was just as amazing as their evening menu - so much flavour and so different to any other brunch I have ever had before! I had heard about their doffles so went for the Full Indian which was full of flavour and my friend had their thali which included the best korma I have ever had.
Will definitely be back soon!
E. B.
Absolutely incredible purely vegan streetfood. We went on the second night Spicebox was open, and it was packed. We ordered: onion bhaji, chana chaat, jackfruit curry, cashew korma, Bombay potatoes and I honestly couldn't pick a favourite dish - they were all so tasty. I don't live in Walthamstow, but would certainly make the journey again to visit Spicebox. The staff were all lovely, and there was generally a nice, friendly atmosphere.
J. P.
Absolutely delicious food - From Starter through to dessert. Don’t be put off by it’s location (no offence Walthamstow, it’s just end of the Victoria line so definitely a pilgrimage to go there) It’s fully worth the trip.
Service was quick, attentive and friendly with great product knowledge. The Loaded Bhaji for starter was packed full of flavour and didn’t have the usual greasy overload of your standard curry house bhaji. The Chana Masala main (recommended as the waiter’s top pick) certainly delivered, a spicy punch with a rich depth of flavour, along with the Daal which was excellent. A great selection of pickles, fluffy rice and great poppadoms.
The IPL lager was also delicious - a sort of hybrid between a fruitier IPA and crisp lager, not too heavy like a huge bottle of cobra beer.
The Biscoff & Coconut Ice Cream Paratha dessert again was exceptional, pleasing the sweet tooth and cleansing the pallet. We left with full bellies but without the greasy sluggishness of your regular curry house (all of their food is vegan btw!)
Would highly recommend and we’ll definitely be returning!
E. H.
Tasty curries for a reasonable price. The staff were also very friendly. Would go again 👌
P. S.
Spicebox is just so good. We've eaten in and had takeaway a number of times. The flavours are wild - so, so good. We're not vegan but we don't miss meat/dairy at all when we have Spicebox. Some of the best curry we've ever eaten.
A. W.
WOW - it has taken me a while to visit SpiceBox as it was always fully booked and now I can understand why! Spectacular food with a really friendly serving team! This will definitely be becoming our regular curry house from now on!
J. B.
Curiously went with a friend to try the vegan Indian food. Good idea, but lacked any real flavours associated with a real curry restaurant. Food was bland I did not enjoy the jalfrezi and Chana masala. Atmosphere was good, service was ok.
D. O.
Amazing Sunday brunch, would highly recommend. We had the 'full indian' and a naan roll with fake bacon with a couple of chai masalas. Incredible warm spices, what a lovely way to start the day! Staff very friendly and helpful too.
Bright décor made for a cheery atmosphere despite the drab weather outside.
F.
Absolutely loved this place and have been back a couple of times since trying at a festival over the summer. The flavours were incredible and the food tasted really fresh and filling. Loved the slaw and other additions to add crunch to the food, and cut through the spice perfectly. Definitely recommend it, and reasonably priced as found it filling. Go!
L. M.
The food is super tasty, and a lot more filling that it would appear at first. The 3 grain rice was the best rice I ever had.
They were very good and clear with allergies as well.
S. T.
I almost don't want to post a review in case it gets insanely busy and I can't stroll in for my Sunday brunch. The brunch here is amazing, staff friendly (and always v accommodating of our baby and big pram) and a lovely relaxed vibe. Top picks are the KFC dosa waffles and mango lassi. YUM.
N. P.
The food was good, especially given it is all vegan, but i do feel like it was about 20% overpriced. The room at the back also gets very hot so would be uncomfortable on a mildly warm day. Particularly liked the chicken starter and the vegan paneer. One of the waiters was a bit odd, in my opinion, but maybe that's just me!
T. K.
Utterly delicious! Has to be the best new restaurant in London. I know it’s just food... but have been dreaming about a vegan Indian restaurant, and this one does not disappoint! Best Mango Lassi and masala chai ever... lovely staff, decor and atmosphere. Delicious and inventive Indian/soul food fusion. The brunch dosa waffles are scrumptious! Can’t wait to try dinner...
R. K.
Delicious, authentic vegan Indian food with a modern twist. The brunch doffles (dosa waffles) are to die for - I had them with the vegan chick’n, dhal and golden syrup - yum! The evening options are also fab. Definitely worth a visit whether you’re vegan or not.
E. E.
The tastiest vegan food I have ever come across! I love the interesting flavours that are on the Spice Box menu - warm, hearty and comforting but also healthy and environmentally conscious. Love it
H. B.
Portions definitely on small side , Korma with cashews had a few slithers of chick'n and no cashews but it was , flavour wise , outstanding . A confirmed meat eater and very hard to please mother bother very impressed and would go again. The small complimentary pickle was absolutely tougue tingling gorgeous.
G. F.
Authentic vegetarian curry restaurant in Walthamstow. Inexpensive.
V. B.
Spice Box is simply AMAZING! Best vegan curry I have ever had! the taste is just heavenly! and they always have a gluten free option for those in need! Cant wait to see what else they have under their sleeve! Viva Spice Box! Yuhuuuuuuuu !!!
D. K.
Shared the family meal last night with my family. Absolutely delicious, each dish had real authenticity. Lovely
K. M.
Great food, great vibe, great music! Their cashew nut korma is insane, and so is there 'chik'n' tikka! My partner's family is from Punjab, he has lived there throughout his life, and he says it tastes like street food in India! Always chooses it if we go out to eat.
Only one thing... make the chai spicier! Then all perfect.
R. K.
Absolutely love Spice Box. The brunch options are amazing, banana doffles, alcoholic mango lassi, Indian style KFC chick'n. The flavours are so fresh and delicious. My new favourite restaurant.
A. C.
The food is incredible. Loved the loaded onion bhaji, tikka masala and tarka dhal. Decor was great too.
n. C.
Holy (spiritual) Cow! Probably the best Indian food I've had outside of India... and I've eaten lots. Even if you're not vegan, I highly highly recommend SpiceBox. You will not be disappointed, I promise.
J. F.
Vegan or not everyone has to try this place. Food was outstanding. Great balance of flavours and spice vibrantly served on simple authentic platters. Delicious. Can't wait to go back.
C. K.
Great vegan indian, street food. Nice to have a healthy street food option, no gimmicks or fake meats just really delicious, wholesome plant based food. The keralan coconut pumpkin curry is beautiful and the chargrilled cauliflower is always a winner. Also this place carries vegan naan bread which is plus as it's normally so hard to find!
M. M.
Vegan dosas. Need more be said?? I feel the humble dosa is going to be the next big thing in cheap health foods. It's gluten free and fermented. Lovely staff, reasonably priced with a range of quality sweet and savoury options.
m. c.
Delish! Four of us ate there, two courses inc a range of starters and not a wrong note in a single mouthful. Also super friendly, professional service without being fussy, couldn't fault it.
If I could get the recipes for the jackfruit curry and the soya, cashew, pea curry, that'd be the non-dairy icing.
M. P. A.
Really nice experience in the heart of Camden Market. The staff is really friendly and gave us a helpful information about the different options. The meal deal option, that comes with a side of naan and a drink is amazing!! The pumpkin curry is mouth watering, definitively a teasure in Camden Market. 100% recommended!!
R. S.
I fancied sampling some vegan food on a recent trip to Camden. Tried the pumpkin curry.....delicious !! Coconutty with pumpkin and black eyed peas and fresh curry leaves. Good for those that don't like spice. Served with brown rice and a fluffy naan bread on the side.
Highly recommended to everyone !!
N. R.
The food was good and fresh, but nothing so special that I cant make it at home.
Everything it's quite expensive but I couldn't understand if I had big portion, but no, we had super small portions overpriced, we paid 4paratha 10£, that's for a Indian restaurant it's quite expensive!
M. Y.
Delicious vegan food, and great vibe within the restaurant. Would definitely visit again.
M. B.
Lovely fragrant vegan food and cozy, friendly restaurant. Definitely will be back again!
D. B.
Superb food and friendly staff. All vegan and plenty of gluten free. Will be back.
M. H.
Worth it for the mango lassi alone. I mean, if I went there again, I would probably just have glass after glass of mango lassi. The food is decent - naan a bit dry but curry was flavoursome and we left satisfied. The space is a bit cramped.
P. P.
A real feed. Veggie food that is tasty and well presented. Nice informal atmosphere. A new brunch spot for us. Both left stuffed and happy.
m. f.
Fantastic food and great service. Highly recommended!!!
S. S.
The customer service was fantastic, got offered a taster and it pulled me in to try a whole dish. Really enjoyed the quality and flavours. Would recommend it highly, the cauliflower steak was PROPER!
a. b.
Visited London Camden Market a week ago and came across this great little vegan food outlet, I've been enjoying a variety of plant based food recently and opted for the cauliflour tikka masala topped naan bread. The naan was light and fluffy and not oily like other naan breads I've had. The cauliflour is freshly grilled to order and comes with a variety of pickles and chutneys served with a topping of tikka masala sauce. All I can say is it was delicious and flavoursome with just the right anount of sauce and toppings and will definitely be coming back to sample some of the other dishes on offer.
A. J.
Small, but tasty, and obviously popular. All tables taken on early Sun eve Fathers day treat
T. P.
Fantastic curries with lots of creative flavours and combinations. Particularly enjoyed the jackfruit tikka masala. Great for vegans and veggies, but I'm sure meat-eaters will enjoy this too.
H. J.
Absolutely delicious vegan food! Also great service and really lovely decor, and a nice atmosphere even in coronavirus times 😷🍛😋
k. s.
It looks lovely to sit in, but we got a takeaway:
Chana masala, Jackfruit Jalfrezi, loaded bhajis, 3 grain rice, and Naans.
It was okay, but not mind blowing.
A bit salty for me tbh.
The Jalfrezi was nice and hot, though oddly there was nothing else in it (no onions, or peppers just jackfruit in spicy sauce).
And the naans were super flat and a little on the biscuity / dry side, as if there was no or little yeast in them and had been warmed up in a microwave after being made earlier.
B. W.
Without question the best vegan food I’ve tasted and some of the best Indian food too. Gorgeous little restaurant with lovely attentive staff!
A must visit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
L. M.
My first ever proper vegan meal, enjoyed it. Will go there again.
A. K.
We had the dhal and the chikn tikka. Both were yummy but I thought it was a bit overpriced for the area and there was not much chikn in our dish. The staff was lovely - it's a very tiny space and gets quite noisy.
S.
Definitely up there in London's best curries especially if you're looking for something healthy and full of flavour. Brilliant to have so many options for veggies and vegans.

Food was very nice but couldn't enjoy it to its fullest as the room is very small so it felt cramped. Also felt very rushed, as if we were part of an assembly line of customers waiting to depart from our money and then pointed towards the door.

I’ve been meaning to go to Spicebox forever and why did I wait so long?! The food was delicious, the service was great, we even got a dish taken off our bill just for being nice customers! Will be making regular visits here from now on!
I. O.
Great food, nice atmosphere but extremely cramped and short of space. Went with a heavily pregnant friend and we really struggled for space to sit comfortably despite booking our table well in advance.
N. S.
Had our first takeaway from here last night, such a delicious vegan korma, definately cheered me up whilst self isolating. Insanely quick delivery. Thankyou!
D. O.
Lovely food. But we have ordered directly from their website twice now and both times the food has turned up lukewarm.

Honestly dont know where to start from!! O. P.
Really yummy food and the staff were great. Food is 5 stars but I’ve docked one as it was a little over priced especially as it is all vegan.
H. P.
One of the best chicken substitutes I’ve eaten! Definitely check out the brunch waffles - generous serving size and tasty sauces.

The jackfruit jalfrezi is outstanding but the star of the show is the garlic and chilli naan - it feels immoral enjoying bread that much but it's so good.
T. A.
Excellent vegan brunch with waffles and vegan eggs. Spice is perfectly matched with a mango lassi.
A. H.
Really tasty curries!!! Full of flavour and fresh and healthy :) I also love the popppdom and chutneys
S. L.
AMAZING food! Would happily move to Walthamstow for this beautiful gem of a restaurant. The spicy Mary’s are a top way to start and the food is BANGING. Wonderful service too ❤️❤️❤️

Very nice even if I did have to slip a çhicken breast into my jalfrezi. Ordered via app whilst enjoying a cheeky pint in R&C and was ready before I could sneak a second in.
