Been to Steak & Co for years now. I think i have eaten in all of their branches across London. Lately ive been going to the one i. Gloucester road. The service is good, staff amazing. The young lady Anieska who attended our table was really polite and helpful. The food was amazing as usual. The cater for halal too and quite a good variety on the menu. We have the fillet and ir was delicious and good quality meat. No service charge on the bill, so you tip whatever you feel is good for you. Highly recommend.

Great team, eger to serve with a smile. The steaks have a gorgeous quality, the hot stone suits also my daughter (14 years). The local beer tastes great and it is - despite the “hall” atmosphere - still quite for a talk. (And you kids can get wifi !! Parents). A great recommendation :-).

Been to this outlet and the one in Piccadilly. Can safely say this place is way better. Service is fast, food is 10/10. Try the sirloin and the parsley butter. When you order the steak, you get to pick your choice of salt, butter and sauce. The steak comes already seared, but you’ll have to “cook” it on your own hot plate. Love the experience because this allows you to have the steak the way you want it.

Came here for breakfast, The eggs are pre set on the menus but we managed to ask for fried and poached. The poached egg didn’t seem very poached though. We ordered order a standard full English and a Steak full English. The baked beans were way too sweet not original Hienz. The steak ordered a medium but came quite well done and was quite chewy not the best of quality in my option. Also lacked in any chargrill flavour. The bread and butter lack in any particular flavour. After seeing the pictures online was overall quite disappointed with finished product. I would say there is quite a bit of room improvement.

Lovely restaurant to visit, which provides a different type of experience with steak. They bring it out rare/blue and you cut and cook it yourself on a hot stone while applying butter and salt to taste. Pate was lovely to start and garlic mushrooms for my wife. Unfortunately the USP of the restaurant was let down on the steak as my wives fillet was quite fatty, the quality was ok but for £30 was far from what I had expected. Chips were also pretty poor, improved by the creamed spinach though. Felt a bit like they hadn’t been open for long or the chef was having an off day I’m afraid

I'm a brazilian guy, I love barbecue, I do a lot of barbecue and I tried a ruge number of steak houses in UK and I can say without fear, this is the best place I ever ate a beef in the UK. I'll come back multiple times, for sure.

My partners steak was a good size but there was no way my sliced steak was the advertised 10oz. Both steaks lacked flavor, it would make more sense if they applied the seasoning before it was seared (possible factor). Bernaise sauce tasteless. Overall a disappointing meal. I think people get taken in by the novelty of cooking your own steak.

Very neat place, lovely waiter. Just about the most amazing steak I have ever had served with a very hot slate so your steak stayed hot all the time and you cooked it at your leisure. I had the garlic bread for starters; it was okay but the majority of it was dry and quite dense. My friend ordered the sizzling steak which was okay but a lot of smoke; he didn’t like the steak at all and left half of it. I had the rack of ribs it was nice. They put down a bowl with some serviettes and a couple of wipes but I think it would have been better to give me a bowl for the bones and another with some water so I could rinse my hands as I ate. The ribs come on their own so I had to pay £3.45 for a side of chips. Overall £42 for the food and a glass of Fanta……not worth it.

Have been to the Leicester square branch and enjoyed the concept of finishing off cooking the steak to personal liking. Went to Gloucester Road branch for a meal today. My hubby told the waiter it was my birthday, he just smiled, didn't wish me and walked off. Very limited choice on halal steaks. I ordered the sirloin but it had too much gristle. The mash and chips were good. Hmm!

The location of the place is perfect, next to the underground stop. The place is big. What I love the most from this restaurant is that they serve the meet with the grill. There is a lot of meet options to choose. On the other side, get ready to get a new food fragance for your clothes. When the restaurant is busy there is always food smoke. Good service & good price. OMG! You have so got to visit this place! Yes, as mentioned before, you cook your own beef on a stone slab but I found it to be engaging and ideal for a chef wanna-be. The staff are really friendly and compliments go to the chefs, the unsung hero’s of the restaurant for consistently producing food of this quality. And a special thanks to the ladies, Ezster and Erika, who took excellent care of me and my orders. Fantastic place to take a date or friends that you’ll talk about for months after and most likely use as a conversational topic. Comparable prices to more central locations but I would have to say the quality of the ingredients are superior along with the presentation!

Cool idea, good service, good wine and dessert but mix up on the orders (on butters and salts) also did not know it's a cook it yourself type of restaurant. I think they needed more or better extractor fans also took time to get used to the procedure of cooking the steak. Not sure I would recommend this chain.

Loved my visit. Halal steak which you cook to your liking. Making it fun and tasty. Only downside was waiting over an hour for our meal to arrive (only 5 of us) perhaps just what you get on a Sat evening. Be prepared to wait!

We had the BBQ sampler and fogasse (wouldn't refund that) and the chicken Alfredo was a little more like gravy than Alfredo, but staff was pleasant and it wasn't bad overall--pretty good.

Amazing restaurant serving a deciduous stakes meat. We tried the Halal menu, which includes 2 types of stake and both were awesome and the meat was juicy and very delicious. The sweets were also amazing. The setting area is very beautiful and large that can accommodates many groups. The most important is the outstanding service by all staff, which were very helpful and honest in serving the Halal menu.

Good spot for a meat lovers with affordable menu. This was the second time at Steak & Co. This time we have decided to have meat cooked by chef, instead of going for a hot stone. Meat was cooked the way we wanted it, presentation was good, although i would prefer to keep cress off the plate. Chimichuri sauce was far from how it should look like - as you can see on my guests’ plate (centre dish) it was mostly oil. Sweet potato fries were yum!

Absolutely amazing food and a surprise experience with a preparation of your stake :) girls who works there went above and beyond when they come over with a cake and sang happy birthday to my partner . A good reliable steak at a decent price. Francisco our waiter was attentive and polite. Even when my Fiancé filled the restaurant with smoke from cremating his steak!! Starters aren't anything to write home about. The French onion soup was under seasoned my calamari greasy. My fillet steak however was beautiful. As was my Fiancé's ribeye. And our sides were good. We will always return to Steak and Co. As we know what we are going to get.

Not the best steak I've ever had, but it was still a very nice steak and the staff were good at explaining how things worked. I ordered their 10oz fillet which was very lean as expected, but it arrived seared only - you slice your steak and cook each slice on the hot stone to your liking. The choice of steak butter, sauce and rub is a very nice touch. BEWARE - as he stone is so hot, it can get messy so cover your front up with a serviette! Where this review loses a star is: - My fries arrived not exactly cold, but not hot either - disappointing - My side of veg had same issue, and could have done with being steamed a little longer - They charge over £1 more for a pint of diet coke than normal coke

Came here for dinner. I took their ribs as a starter and they were great. I then went for a striploin steak on a hot stone which was wonderful. The beer was also good. Highly recommend this place for dinner for small or large groups. The place is also quite big so it can accomodate parties. The prices are fair for London. I ended uo paying around 60 pounds. The location is good and close to underground.

Very unique and great experience. You can roast your steak they way you like it. It is served "medium" on a hot stone plate. Additionally you can choose the salt, butter and sauce. The meat tastes very good. All in all a must if you are up to for a good steak. But keep in mind to do a reservation otherwise you might end up waiting for a table.

This place is top notch. Ordered the pickle and olives and they were delicious. However, I would have like more pickels. The table also ordered the bread and prawns. They both looked good but I didn't partake in them. I ordered the ribeye with garlic butter, seaweed salt, and the mushroom sauce. At this point I realized you get the steak mostly raw and you cook it on a hot rectangular piece of metal or rock to cook the steak on. This was a cool twist and it was enjoyable. I also got a side of potato gratin which was very good. My wife got the chicken Caroline. She enjoyed it and I took a few bites. I thought the chicken was just ok. Overall a relaxing in pleasant atmosphere. I highly recommend this place and would go back if I'm ever in London again.

Very good steak. My favorite is the Rib Eye, with only salt. Nice and yummy piece of meat. The meat itself is certainly between 4 and 5 stars. However the second time I came the ventilation was totally insufficient and it was an awful experience, as everything smelled like a barbeque including our jackets for the next 2 days. They should care to have always that one at best, considering that the meat is cooked on a hot stone on every table. Reccommended to book a table in advance.

I had the Chicken and Leek, simple and very delicious! Plently of sauce which was heavenly. All of the dish's me and my friends had were amazing! The only down side was that the service was very slow when it was very quiet in the restaurant and the waitor we had seemed new and only had some knowledge of the menu and drinks they had, I asked for a bombay and lemonade, I had to repeat to the waitor it was a gin. When receiving the drink I knew I was given a gorden gins, it also stated on the bill I was given a gordens. But we were all satisfied dining here and would come back for more! X

Great to find a restaurant that serves great adult meals while also having a decent menu for children. A chunk of blue seared steak is delivered to your table on a hot slab of rock with your choice of seasoning, butter and sauce. Slice off parts of your steak and cook them to your liking. Delicious. Top tip, slice off bitesized chunks and cook them for a few seconds on each side. Too many people were trying to wrestle with half their steak on the hotplate but if you cook it too much you can't go back! The kids meal had loads of veg which I appreciate.

Great quality food (we had the full English breakfast), nice restaurant interior, and generally good prices I'm dropping a star because the advertising on the windows shows the picture of a full English with the price above saying breakfasts from £5.99......but when you look at the menu you find the full English is almost £8......having said that it is worth it The other issue is they charge you a cover £1 per person, without telling you ahead of time (agreed its a small amount but didn't like the suprise), and then the bill say service charge is not included.....which in the UK is not on. In the USA, waiting staff don't get paid as much since they are expected to make up to a living wage with good service and tips.....in the UK businesses pay the minimum wage to their staff, and this overhead is added to the price of the food. In the USA you expect that before going to the restaurant. In the UK in general its not expect unless service is exceptional, in which case most people would be happy to pay. Just be up front with your pricing, people would be a lot happier, and based on the quality of you food happy to pay the higher price

Nice restaurant. It's a bit pricey, but the steaks (which you cook on a hot slate) are delicious and we'll we'll presented. The chicken and ham pie is also delicious. The place also has a nice feel, and the menu choices are excellent. I was a bit disappointed that the toilets weren't very clean. I was also disappointed at the "cover charge", which came to £2 for two. I asked what this was (as I've never seen anything like this before), and they said it was to cover things such as the cleaning. This doesn't make sense because the whole point of going to a restaurant and paying premium prices is because this is included. Steak and Co. run a more efficient business or increase the prices, if it's struggling to cover it's own cleaning bill. It also wasn't clearly stated, and we weren't told about it prior to finishing our meal, which was disappointing. We decided not to leave a tip, in part because of the cover charge which felt like shameless money grabbing.

The woman at the door wearing a red suit was unfriendly and seemed unhappy to see us! If not for her - I may have given 5 stars! She took a great deal of care to make sure she got our orders correct and was meticulous with details. She was accommodating and helpful at every step and went the extra mile. First impressions excellent! We went for the steaks and have to say they were excellent. We ordered the mushrooms as a side but unfortunately they weren’t anything like the pictures and therefore I didn’t want them. (And were were overcharged for them. We were charged the starter price instead of side order price). I’d have given 5 stars despite this bit on our bill was a cover charge of £1 each, which is a first time I’ve ever come across this anywhere in the world, let alone in London. When we queried it we were told it was a donation to charity. (Might have been better to ask, I’d have thought.. so a bit cheeky.) Prices of the steak were reasonable but some of the other prices a bit off. Atmosphere and ambience was excellent! Would I go again? Yes!

It was OK. Very crowded with no breaks between tables so you had to raise your voice to be heard across the table. One of the bread rolls was almost impossible to eat but the other bread in the assortment was beautiful. You are supposed to cook the steak yourself on a hot Rock, but they will cook it for you if you ask (although this is not indicated on the menu). The food was nice, but nothing special. The venue felt a bit like a noisy canteen. Some more dividers up around the floor would help.

It was a bit disappointed as steak restaurant as they do not give description of where the meat from or different choices of cut. I ended up order pork belly. However, the other waiter was trying this best to accommodate the gluten free diet. I am not sure if I go back though as there are other similar style of restaurants who serves much better food.

Its unique concept of cooking your own steak to your preference has been mentioned in other reviews and i am quite a fan of it. Steaks ordered were generally very good, being cooked to are so only need a few minutes or less before we can tuck in (if you are a medium person that is) However, the pepper steak may have been too thick to cook on stone slab and took much longer than desired. I would also recommend the sweet potato chips over the traditional rustic chips. Its well worth the extra for a much better flavour! In terms of service, the food arrived quickly and the waitress we had was very polite and kindly told us how it works with the cooking. You may be surprised there is no service charge, but has the £1 cover charge instead. Overall, the meal is around £25-30 each with soft drinks.

The décor is modern and it feels spacious inside, although some tables are a bit too close to each other. One of the spot lights from the ceiling was constantly aiming into my face, which was a bit frustrating. I liked this spot. They sere the meat but leave it raw in the center. When it's served it comes out on a very hot stone. So you remove the meat, slice it and put a slice back on the stone to cook to your taste. Along with the meat they serve a "seasoning" a "sauce" and a "butter". So you can put a pinch of chili salt along with a little pat of garlic butter on the meat to enhance the flavor while you cook. You have the option to dip it in the sauce when you've cooked to your liking. It's a nice concept. We ordered the house Cabernet and found it lacking, the waiter replaced it with a different Cabernet which was much better. The sides were pricey and were fairly small portions but overall the food was tasty. The night we were there the manager and the waiter we had did a fantastic job. The manager was literally running about keeping the tables turning over smoothly. Our waiter was super nice and dealt with our requests gratiously. You don't always find that in restaurants that are this busy. It was very busy and quite honestly it seemed to me that the wait staff was a little overwhelmed with the business. It was hard for them to give any table their full attention, but I suspect that's the business model. It works out ok, but if you need the waiter your going to have to grab him/her as they rush bye!

Well, unfortunately I was really disappointed, probably I expected had too much. Starting with the signature dish baked camembert left me a bit unsatisfied, as the red jam just looked like any random cheap jam you could get from the super market. I then went for the fillet steak, which was unfortunately a little bit overdone. It became better after a few bites, but still the first impression was not as good as I had hoped for The chips looked nice and crunchy, but felt a bit too soft for my taste. Anyway, the steak was bigger than I expected, so you probably won't really need a starter. The wine list looks promising, and I went for a nice glass of white. It tasted quite good, and my glass was filled very generously. Not too bad! At the end I couldn't resist to order a dessert, but after the enormous steak, I could unfortunately not finish the dessert. But still, it was delicious. Altogether, Green Door Steakhouse is not the worst place for a steak, but I'm afraid I must say, that I've had much better steaks in London.

I was there with my friends few days ago. The service was a little bit slow. I don't know if the waiter was new in this but he seemed a little bit stressed attending us & the table next to us. When our order came, the waiter dropped some drops of sauce of the steak over my hoodie (new, bought it 2 days ago). First he denied it was him, then he recognized it only could happened when he brought the steak. I know it wasn't made on propose, but it confused me that he didn't want to recognize it was his fault. So finally they offered an discount and they apologize of what happened. We accept and for me it was done. The waiter also offered me free dessert or a free cocktail but I denied as I couldn't eat more. The steak was excellent, also the french fries, sauces...everything. The only thing that putted some shadow on this was the experience with the hoodie and the sauce drops. Now I'm back home and the stains of the hoodie have been removed after washing. So that's a good thing after all as I was afraid the stains will remain. But I recommend the place if you want to eat a good steak.

I usually rate places based in their ability to handle food allergies like gluten free etc. You need to ask and the staff are not 100% certain. Prices were quite high. For example the potato skins were £6.50 and you only get 9 medium skins. Not exactly the right pricing for sides as the rest were much the same. Entree sizes were better priced though. Share platter with a decent variety was £14.90 which was decent since you can share it. Would have been better value to get 2 platters rather than topping up with over priced sides.

THE bartender Frank (big kudo’s to Frank) and his waitresses are polite, running around with a smile to serve everyone, even the manager in full suit helps them out. Dine here often as it is close by. The steaks are good and for starter the melted Camembert is highly recommended, although for some reason the presentation of the dish keeps changing. (First time I had it, the cheese was served in a flat wooden plate with small slices of lightly toasted French bread, but the latest time it was served in the cheese box with large slices of more heavily toasted bread. Every time we go it seems to be served differently.) The service can be temperamental. This is one of those restaurants where you will have only one person waiting on your table. The staff are generally quite pleasant and on a good day you would be served quite quickly, but on a busy day though you could wait 20 minutes for someone just to come take your order or to pay the bill.

Absolutely the best 8oz fillet steak I have had in the uk. Brought to the table cooked rare and sealed on the outside with a hot stone finish each piece to your liking. To be honest this place outdid the places I have visited in Texas which are renowned for their steaks. Be sure to order a side of onion rings, place an onion ring on the hot stone with butter in the moddle, it makes a fantastic dipping opportunity throughout the meal.
