Reviews of Temple of Seitan

Hail Seitan!
Beyond catchy marketing, a great interior aesthetic, and a menu as well-priced as it was varied.
It was tasty, fresh, quick, and I'll be back!
S. Y.
Wow oh wow! Temple of Seitan has become one of my favorite vegan spots in London! Been there a few times now and just can’t get enough of it! I got to try their old seitan recipe in the form of popcorn chicken and chicken wings just before it changed and that that was amazing already. But their new recipe for their seitan is INCREDIBLE! It’s juicy and very much like real chicken. Definitely anyone who wants some junk food needs to go here! Their Mac n cheese is also very very good - super creamy and the sprinkle of bacon on top is a nice touch. Just wish that they would offer some vegan American biscuits like what KFC sells in the US. That would complete my nostalgia for KFC!

Amazing food. They really do the best fried no-chicken burger out there. Everything on the menu is to die for. We tried the Nashville hot, the temple deluxe, the temple feast and the Temple Cheese - every single one of them was just amazing! Highly recommended
L. C.
The OG of vegan fried chicken. Hands down the best quality I’ve come across. Good menu and nice variety. This was the place that made me stop eating meat by convincing me vegan chicken was worth it.
E. H.
Wonderful food and exceptionally accomodating staff. Sadly the only thing that lets it down is no card payments so you absolutely have to bring cash or the app is a complicating and dysfunctional ordeal to get your food.
Other positives are the super clean gender neutral toilets and chill vibe the place has as soon as you walk in. You can view and smell your food being cooked. Overall a top notch experience but they need to sort their app and get a card service sorted. As someone with autism it was kind of distressing. Thanks so much though xx

I love this place and visit most times that I come to London. The staff are friendly, the food is delicous and it is good value for London. I took my partner who is non-vegan and he also loved it. The future of fast food!
a.
Soo good! Can't wait to go back! This is a MUST try for anyone in London ❤️ the best vegan chicken!
M. S.
Used to come here all the time before lockdown. Now the quality of food has changed drastically. The flavour isn’t as good, I know it’s fast food but it actually used to taste like it was worth the money. Staff are really incredible in the Camden branch, can’t fault them.
D. L.
Stumbled across this by accident when looking for some food and didn't realise it wasn't real meat until about 60% of the way through the burger! Very tasty and service was quick. I do eat meat so this wasn't a planned visit - but definitely left satisfied and would visit again.
M. S.
Temple of seitan is a must visit for us when we visit London. We ordered a vanilla shake, strawberry shake, french fries, temple burger with fake bacon and cheese, and seitan BBQ strips with really lovely BBQ sauce. The two of us managed to eat everything but it was a struggle to find room. It was so delicious we couldn't stop 😂 I miss the canal location but aside from that little detail it is consistently our favourite vegan junk food place in London. We live in the west midlands. We hope one day their will be a location closer.
S. P.
I'm not into the image of being an unhealthy vegan food brand and marketing yourself as that. The taste is decent but if you can achieve the same if not much better standard of food while giving out a healthier product I don't see why you would want to be a repeating customer.
S. B.
Fantastic food and reasonable prices. My meat eating friend came too and loved his burger. Definitely going to go back multiple times! Highly recommend!
J. R.
Superb. Photo really does not do this justice at all. I had taken several pics of this glorious burger, fries, coleslaw and caramel milkshake only to discover my SD card had failed and all photos had been deleted deleted it. Luckily my partner had taken this one, but would have like to had shown the whole meal. Guess we will just have to go back. Genuinely one of the, if not the, best burger I have had. Have waited a long time to come here and it was SO worth the wait. Can't wait to go back and try more off this fabulous menu.
A. B.
Food was amazing and friendly staff. As a meat eater I still enjoy Temple of Seitan and always opt for the wrap - the chips are especially good! I wish there was a clearer sign at the door or notice on the tables about the new website ordering system when eating in though - it wasn’t very clear and I had to find a member of staff to ask
D. O.
I adore this place. I don't come here often enough but the fried chicken is so unbelievably good. I have been vegetarian for 15 years and this place has become my go-to place if I want a new vegetarian or a meat-eater to try some great vegan chicken. It isn't the same as real chicken (from what I remember) but it tastes amazing and it never disappoints.
A.
Original burger with added cheese and tomatoes. Delicious! Casual place where you can comfortably dine solo.
K. M.
Seitan wings are amazing. Just like chicken. On the minus side, I think I’ve eaten them so much since discovering them that I’ve developed a gluten intolerance, so there’s that 😅😬
J.
Great food! Pretty quick to come out, 7 or 8 mins in total. It's not completely clear how to order, as there's a till at the front - but its unmanned. The sign telling you to order online is hidden behind the front door - so this could perhaps be laid out a little better!
A. M.
Great stop off for a vegan burger or 'fried chicken'. Lots of accompaniments to add zing, great chips and some decent drink options. Best of all there is a meal deal so its under £10 and the service was prompt and attentive.
S. K.
We ate in Camden and it was so good!!! The prices were reasonable especially given the portions. Highly recommend the "chicken" and the macaroni cheese.
A. L.
Tasty vegan spot. Unfortunately opening in the heart of Camden means queues and wait times are incredibly long, but the staff are energetic and wonderful. I think there is better vegan chicken options out there but Temple of Seitan burgers are lush, and I highly recommend the tots and Mac!
M. B.
AMAZING food, approved by a group of non-vegans :) Get the family bucket deal, works out at £5/pp and you get 3 large wings each, and 3 large sides. Mac & cheese was the best vegan one I've ever had, will definitely be visiting again!!
N. J.
I've been your costumer for a long time and love your food. I recommend the place to everyone. But I was very disappointed with my latest order (via uber eats). First, one item was missing and secondly the patty in the burger was not big enough for it to cover the bun. Please don't let the quality decline!
J. L.
Been here several times with vegan friends & family as a non-vegan and I've thoroughly enjoyed it every time! The seasoning on the 'chicken' means I couldn't care if it's seitan or not - it's super tasty. The portions are generous & it's not too expensive considering its location. The brand new restaurant in Central Camden is certainly an upgrade on the site near Kings Cross too!
P. C.
Fantastic, fully vegan meals to satisfy the cravings of carnists and vegans alike! Only complaint is that it is right next door to a butcher and the whole place reeks of raw meat. The raw fish stench is especially hard to stomach. My advice is to take your order to go and find a nice sunny spot to eat it, preferably upwind from their stinky neighbour. Might I recommend one of everything? ;)
B. S.
All my vegan friends were telling me how amazing this place is so I had to come to see what’s the fuzz about! We all had different burgers which were nice and chicken too👍 definitely for someone who can’t live without fried food!
J.
This is heaven for vegans and vegetarians alike, but even meat eaters should be satisfied if they're open to it! The fried seitan is excellent, with a great texture. Fries are good, but the mac n cheese is fantastic and by far the best vegan mac I've tried. I want to try everything on the menu now!
V. S.
It tasted great and it definitely looked like chicken. Its a great concept using tofu and jackfruit for example and turning it into their meat counterparts. I really liked the chips, they were moist yet flavourful and it was a joy to eat. I had the Nashville hot and it definitely lived upto the name, it did have heat but was still pleasant to eat.
L. H.
I was surprised how good the burger tasted, tastes very similar to chicken.
The Hot wings were nice and spicy but didn’t taste of chicken. And were more like chicken tenders in look and feel.
The prices were decent. £6 for the burger and it was a big burger. The Hot Wings were £5 and they were biiiig.
They accept card and have no telephone.
A. V.
You need to look for Temple of Hackney when you pull up. The building says Temple of Hackney. The food was great. I will add that the Mac & cheese looks like it is going to be hittin but it failed. Lack of flavor. With the way it looks I needed my taste buds to have been beat down. They also should add more cheese. Garlic powder, more cheese, a dash of paprika & the Mac & cheese might have been rocking a whole lot better. I would definitely go back though. This place is mouth watering. I will also add that the fries could use a little bit more flavor. If you are going to be a restaurant like this, taking real chicken out, you have to come with bold flavor, nothing minimal. They need to ramp up the flavor for my taste buds.
R. K.
Temple of Seitan Camden is an amazing place for vegans and non-vegans to experience a delicious and interesting variety of food inspired by conventional fast food. The menu had a decent range of meals, centred around Seitan fried chicken, which were both rich and satisfying. The stand out for me was the vegan mac n cheese with crispy bacon bits. The restaurant had a modern American diner feel, contrasting the sometimes grubby atmosphere of conventional chicken shops. Overall I am keen to visit again to try the rest of the menu.
P. B.
My friend and I ordered their animal-style fries and fried chicken (all vegan) for take-away. I would say that the chicken was a 3/5 but the animal-style fries were a 5/5. I also really like how they offer vegan versions of all of your basic American fast food. Overall, a great experience.
B. R.
I took my non vegan friend there and he said he wouldn't be able to tell the difference between real chicken and the nuggets served here. 100 % will visit again
J. S.
Amazing food choices and so filling. Really enjoyed the food and will defo be coming back. It's a must even if you are a meat lover
s.
To be honest the name of this place is quite confusing.
Initially I knew of it as Temple of Seitan but now it seems to be called Temple of Hackney.
Anyway, Seitan, not the devil Satan is wheat gluten which first appeared during the 6th century as an ingredient for Chinese noodles.
I was really excited in trying this place because of all the good comments and I wanted to compare it to the vegan fried chicken that I had at 2DP in Hong Kong.
On the menu were burgers, strips and wings.
I went for the wings with buffalo sauce as chips are just chips.
It was definitely impressive as the coating was crispy and it adhered to the seitan well.
Taking a bite, the texture was good and the taste was full on from the buffalo sauce which was tangy and slightly spicy.
The only complaint was that it was too salty but otherwise all good.
B. N.
This is one of the best places to get vegan fast food in London. All of the burgers are great, the doner kebab is pretty good and the fries and chicken is of a very high standard. For vegan hamburgers, ToS set the gold standard
h. k.
Good concept. Clean quick and easy service. Worth a try if you're vegan/like seitan. Probably won't return as the food wasn't to my personal taste, but worth a try.
B. P.
Amazing Seitan options.
A top spot for vegans and vegetarians. I would highly recommend the Temple Burger!
H. S.
I've been trying to find a good friend "chicken" since becoming vegan and I finally found it! It was absolutely delicious!
H. P.
All vegan. I tried the spicy and the regular burger and both were delicious. The bun has its sweetness perfectly balanced with the patty which is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and if you go with the spicy option, the combination of everything its umami 100%.
Also, The mac 'n cheese are super creamy, the pasta al dente. There is little space outside so ask to take away!
B. L.
Good general experience.
I didn’t really like the chicken vegan wings. The brand this isn’t chicken is better taste according to me. General presentation is awesome. I still recommend this place for vegan people who I’m not !
A. A.
Not a vegan. At first I felt the texture was a little weird and took a while to get used to. The crunchy exterior helps disguise the lack of taste and lots of Spicy mayonnaise on the side really helps. Overall I’ve grown to like this place
A. A.
Had a nashville hot stye two piece with tater tots and shared a mac & cheese with a friend. The new seitan recipe was incredible.
y. s.
My favourite place to eat vegan in London! The food is absolutely unmatched, even my fussy non-vegan partner loved it. The staff are lovely and our food arrived at the speed of light, 100% recommend <3
E. G.
This places is unreal! BEST VEGAN (junk) FOOD EVER! Yes it’s not something you would eat everyday but as a treat it’s insane. The “chicken” was so realistic! Crispy, crunchy, spicy and delicious. Don’t even get me started on the mac and cheese because there are just no words...
🤤🥵😍
Service was fast and friendly. Go there now! Do it!
K. C.
I went here for dinner and the food was excellent. I generally don't like non-meat burgers, but their Seitan chicken burger was excellent. The staff were super friendly and helpful
H. T.
Amazing vegan chicken! Just wish I had gotten the regular pieces instead of the spicy ones because the spicy coating was too uneven and made the pieces dryer than I expected.
c.
Just visited for the first time and loved it. IMO the best things here are the mac & cheese (SO creamy and flavourful) and the milkshakes (super thick and frosty). The seitan/burgers are good too though :) Portions are generous too. I did feel a bit nickel & dimed over the fact that they don't include a sauce portion with any of the dishes though - you have to pay £0.50-60 per condiment. But the sides are great value. If you want maximum economy, order the popcorn chicken box - it's huge.
One star deducted because you still have to order online and the website is buggy - the order kept wiping itself and needing to be re-input. Counter or table service would be way easier. That said, our food came really fast once we did manage to order it!
K. H.
Really good quality, very fast service. The Camden location is actually really refreshing because it's a little out of the way and so not surrounded by so many people. Food was VERY enjoyable, classic greasy vegan food🤤 will definitely be back. LARGE portion sizes. Mac and Cheese & the temple spicy were my favourites
A. D.
Heavenly and delicious food, truly out of this world amazing. Friendly staff, very clean, and did I mention it was delicious? 😋
A. T.
Really great vegan "chicken"! they serve burgers, wraps, chips, Mac n "cheese", and "wings". You can eat in, or take away.
M. M. (.
Heil Seitan!
This fantastic little vegan food outlet may not be overburdened by space but what it does is excellent food.
The main ingredient running through all the dishes is, of course, seitan. Burgers, wings and wraps are all on the menu which also includes a number of gluten free varieties.
A selection of sides bolsters the main menu with the likes of Mac n Cheese and a sizable tub of crunchy delicious coleslaw. There's also a wide selection of local beverages to wash it down with.
While there are two tables outside they are often full so don't go expecting to have a sit down experience. And even if there are seats and it rains...
Well worth a visit as part of a night out, rather than the main activity.
S. J.
Good food and portions were huge! You have to order your meals by app. But there is no free WiFi (that I could access) and I could not get a cellular signal at our table. Staff would not take an order from us but did advise we could use a tablet at the front to order. Staff were friendly but it's annoying they could/ would not take the order.
A. L.
Really tasty vegan food - order the mac and cheese, ‘chicken’ strips and the burger and they were well seasoned although the mac and cheese could of done with a touch more salt. - all Quick to order. Great selection! Fantastic customer service the packaging was all recyclable made out of paper etc.
M. S.
Great vegan fried chicken. Long que when we were there (1.5 hours) worth the wait. The mac n cheese was amazing. Chicken bits were very tasty. Staff very friendly working in challenging situation at the moment, great to see so popular.
K.
Amazing! So great for vegan junk food! Tastes so much like chicken I honestly doubt people would know if it didn't say vegan on the wall! Fast service with great conversation :) will definitely be visiting again
P. A.
Temple of Seitan is always great. my absolute fave is the mac n cheese.. i never liked regular mac n cheese but this is like heaven in a paper bowl.. seriously.. do yourself a favour and have a go!
R. P. Q.
Superb vegan junk food! Good service. Good value for money. No toilet or washing basin.
N. G.
This is the Buffalo Burger. Tastes better than it looks. I love seitan so I had to try this place. The food is tasty but I would say a bit pricey for what you get. This was £6.5. You need to have their app so that you can order, regardless of whether it is for eat in or takeaway. The restroom is not available to customers/the public. There is hand sanitizer. The waiting time for the order is not long and there is outside seating.
L. J. H.
Amazing vegan food, always hot, always delicious. More expensive than your average 'chicken' shop, but well worth it and still cheap compared to other began restaurants. Even my non-vegan sister loved it.
A. R.
Amazing vegan food at a reasonable price. The pieces taste just like KFC. Plenty of sauces to choose from and meal deals with fried and a drink are only an extra £2. Takeaway only but there are about 8 seats around one table outside. Even the packaging is biodegradable or recyclable :) definitely try if you're vegan! Mac and cheese is great.
A. P.
This place is so flipping delicious I can hardly stand it. Reminds me of being in the classic American diners from when I was a kid. Service is friendly and quick. Not a lot of seating but with food this delish who cares. 🍔 🍟
C. S.
Lots of food for a good price. Great vegan place to visit in London
M. W.
Very good place for vegans to go for fast food. Food tasted good and was relatively quick service. Prices are a bit more expensive that other fast food places, but that's to be expected when having meat alternatives. Despite the price the portions are big so thus makes up for it.
M.
After turning vegetarian in January I was really craving some junk food and I’ve heard so many good things about this place. Honestly amazing food, especially the mac and cheese, will definitely be coming back. The prices are reasonable and not too expensive. Lovely place!
J. S.
Been 50/50 so far. Went a few months ago and it was great! I couldn't wait to go back. The "chicken" was moist and very tasty.
Went back last weekend and it wasn't nice at all.
Service was incredibly slow (the girl who was bagging the food looked like she was going in slow motion). Took over 30 minutes from ordering. I could see my food sitting on a tray for 10 minutes while she waited for one of the items be cooked.
When I finally got my food it was barely warm and was dry and chewy. Took a while to get rid of the taste of oil in my mouth. Very disappointing.
L. D. (. A.
What great food, easy to order and wonderful staff. Really tasty!
R. F.
Buffalo wings are the way to go. The real stars are the breading and dip that comes on/with the wings. Didn’t have a chance to try the shakes as the machine was down, but skip the dessert - Oreo cake was fine, but there are much better vegan options in Camden.
E. S.
Amazing vegan fried chicken, tastes better than any meat and no chickens had to die! The burgers are awesome and so is the mac & cheese. Even when it's super busy the queues move fast and the staff are friendly
J. B.
If you don't live in London you'll be stuck dreaming about it, but its better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all :) Thanks to the staff for helping us narrow down the menu ! The burger, nuggets, fries, and shakes. It was a banner day for my belly. Delicious, whether you're vegan or not !
S. T.
Wow, great vegan food, friendly staff. Well done.
N. D.
Love the food here! The fried chick’n is amazing :) Had the limited edition breakfast burger and the vegan egg they used tasted a *lot* like egg, the vegan bacon was great too!
W.
Temple of Seitan is a fried "chicken" vegan friendly store. The best thing I had there was the Mac 'n' Cheese, many people will be shocked because I am not a huge cheese fan 😄 but this was delicious.
I was a bit disappointed that the chicken didn't taste near to normal chicken taste and all the "meat" dishes all taste the same, but hey, still good ;)
Food: Mac 'n' Cheese, Chips, Popcorn Bites, Hot Wings
I also ordered the twist wrap on the side which is not bad either. I will come back again 😋
K. T.
This is still by far one of my favourite places in London. Just as good as the hackney branch but with additions to the menu. This place also has seating which is a plus and a courtyard which will be great in the summer.
I also saw that they have fresh coffee and desserts on offer which I need to save some room for next time.
G. T.
The cheeseburgers are amazing. Probably the best vegan burgers around. The milkshakes are also yum and the staff are always friendly. Not a lot of seating but that depends on when you go. Definitely worth checking out - whether you're vegan or not!
N. J.
Friendly staff. You can also order from a screen to see what you order. Vegetarian.
X. C. A.
Amazing vegan food! Portions are massive, excellent service, food came quickly and tasted absolutely amazing! Only thing is that we waited a while before we could get seats but it was definitely worth the wait! If you buy some of their desserts they also give you a free coffee on the house :) definitely going to making regular visits here!
P. G.
Tiny, but mighty. The place is small, but the food packs a punch! Tasty, crispy plant-based wings and kebab. Vegans visiting London, the trip is worth it!
A. H.
Tasty burgers, decent mac and cheese, good goujon things, too. The ordering process could be slightly easier. Or perhaps I just need to visit more often and familiarise myself with it.
S. O.
First time here, I wasn't expecting such huge portions for the chicken popcorn and doner snack box, quick service within 5-10 mins of ordering. Great value for money and delicious!
P. H.
Fascinating what you can do with a bit of wheat gluten. Very salty but I can't hold that against them as it's still unabashedly fast and not health food. Hail Saitan!
D. M.
What can I say?! I've finally made it to temple of seitan(hackney)! After many long queues at vegfest and never being in time to taste their incredible seitan because it always sells out we finally made it. I ordered the temple burger and it was as good as expected! Along with some popcorn bites to further succumb to my massive appetite. Both were tasty, shockingly realistic and if you have a non-vegan friend or family member, take them here and show them that fried chicken is a thing of the past. It's all about the seitan!!!
M. F.
Soooo gooood... The food is delicious and excellently priced, so it's a no-brainer to stop by whenever I'm visiting. Would recommend to anyone with taste buds 😋
G. L.
The doner was bland. My friend had the fried wings which were overly peppery. Staff were welcoming.
S. P.
The spicy burger was brilliant - crispy and the right level of heat. This surely is the future of food. Tastes great and no animals were harmed in the making.
T. P.
A must for junk food lovers!!! Awesome dishes and good prices. Try the buffalo wings.
A. G.
Its delicious and portions are big. I will go again to try other options available in the menu. If you are going over the weekend, expect a long wait for a table.
B. B.
Lovely burgers. Tried the Nashville Hot and it was amazing. My friend took the temple burger and it looked great as well. Fried were perfect. Unfortunately this kind of restaurant doesn't exist in Paris 😭. Paid £19 for 2 burgers, a large fries (very very large as you can see on the picture) plus a lemonade (not that great)
K. R.
They have just moved across the road from their old location, and are now using the name Temple of Seitan. Food is fantastic, but very limited space to sit down for a meal. I guess they are more of a takeout business. Anyway, we were able to sit and enjoy a simple, but wonderful lunch ... 🙂
J. D.
Oh wow. This place blew me away. Literally something I have always wanted as a vegan - deep fried "chicken" fast food. And it is DELICIOUS. The popcorn bites returned me to my childhood and the Temple Burger was just on point. Everything was super crispy and yum. Once I saw the name in HappyCow I knew I had to try this and I was not wrong. Please try this place, it's unlike anything else.
S. G.
Having been to the Temple of Seitan twice now and especially as a non-vegan customer, I find I have gathered enough experience and data to be able to give a well-rounded review.
Before I talk about the food itself, I think it is important to note that the restaurant isn't really suitable for eating in and there aren't really any places within the vicinity of Hackney that could suitably home someone wishing to have a sit down meal. The Temple has two benches with tables outside but they fit very few people and when it's very busy it's unlikely you'd be able to sit down. The inside is also quite a tight squeeze, particularly when you want to enter or exit the building, so it can be quite awkward at times. The space issue is the primary reason for my review being a 4 star rather than a 5 star.
Now to the food. I have tried the mac and cheese, the temple burger, popcorn bites and naturally the fries. The food is cooked and spiced to perfection, was not cold and absolutely delicious. I think the shining star on the menu is the mac and cheese. I am an absolute cheesaholic (which is why i could never be vegan) and so finding an alternative mac and cheese that was delicious, was incredibly interesting! The dish was creamy and slightly sweet, which really added to the flavour. The pasta was cooked perfectly and it really was something unique at a reasonable price. Eating along with the popcorn chicken made for a very filling meal and I wish i lived closer to Hackney so i could have it for a once a week treat!
The staff are friendly and are incredibly helpful when making food choices. The Temple of Seitan is definitely a grab-and-go establishment, so don't be disappointed if you can't find anywhere to sit! Overall it's a great place to grab some food for lunch and I would recommend eating here, whether you are vegan or not.
M. H.
Popcorn Chicken Bites: really good, if no one told me it was meat free, I'd have thought it was chicken
4 Wings: these were the chicken wings substitute, the breading and buffalo sauce was bang on, the 'chicken' was almost there, alittle on the rubbery side, but I just told my self to pretend I was having reheated chicken wings the morning after and it tasted about the same. I really enjoyed it
Temple Spicy Burger: this one I enjoyed the least, the pattie tasted abit too much like a thick veggie burger and spice wise there wasn't any kicks, I couldn't taste the hot sauce at all.
Fairtrade Karma Kola: anyone who remembers Panda Pop Drink from school days would love this
On the whole, nice experience, I'd defo have the wings and popcorn bites again.
For those interested, there's no parking outside, but I parked in Tesco opposite and walked across
v.
The food was decent. You could not tell at all that it was vegan. The reason I gave 4 stars is that one of my friends requested their wrap without dairy. Unfortunately it did. They then corrected the mistake and gave complementary hash browns. On the other hand you have to order on an app and we didn't get any personal tableservice which would have been appreciated. I would give this restaurant and high 4 starts for sure. I recommend for a surprising delicious vegan experience.
J. C.
Lovely experience ☺️ 10/10 would recommend
D.
This place slaps, on my day in London I made it a mission to visit this place
I was not disappointed, I was worried that because its niche etc the portion sizes would be a slap in the face however it defeated me
Definitely bang for my buck
As someone who has toyed around with seitan a couple of times it was amazing to see its ACTUALLY meant to turn out
The one thing i would say is that I opted for the hotter coating on my 'chicken' and although it was a lil spicier, some bites tasted almost sweet like they put sugar on it
That may well be their recipe and to be honest it didn't take away from anything :)
Attached is the big old slabs of seitan I got
J. H.
I do like the vegan junk food, albeit a bit too salty, but still ahead of its time and it's definitely easier to get to and has a bit more space than the Hackney branch. Not sure the decor/atmosphere really works for me though.

Made it all the way from South London and was not disappointed - as a vegetarian of 10years I will admit I miss the fried chicken and these bites hit the spot. Wasn't busy at all and I was really pleased with the texture and taste - defiantly recommends to try at least once!
B. M.
The food is incredible, I had the temple burger with fries and a side of the mac and cheese, totally recommend to anyone who's thinking of going. Not the easiest place to find, but was 100% worth hunting out. Devastated that there's not one in Glasgow, but is definitely on my to do list the next time I visit London.
F. L.
Absolutely amazing food, lovely location next to the river behind the wall, the appearance and decor was a cool vibe, had the Nutella style thick shake, biscoff thick shake, poppers, fillets and spicy Buffalo wings. Food blew my mind staff were friendly and really checked orders properly, but the service isn't that fast so be prepared to wait a while. It's totally worth it though! :D

A go to spot in London for vegans. I am a big fan and my go to order is buffalo wings with chips and ranch mayo. I ate in and the chef serving me was great (bald guy, sorry I didn’t get his name) asked how I wanted the sauce, if I was enjoying the music etc. Always feels like you’re walking into a friends house which is awesome.
S. P.
Excellent fried junk food! I can't imagine anyone not liking this food. All vegan junk food cafés seem to charge about the same: £11-12 for a combo meal (burger + chips + drink).
The cafe has closed its till (as of July 2021), so they encourage you to order online.
C. h.
You might have to queue up and the order might take a while, but the Vegan food is totally worth it. Vegan Nashville burger is amazing and so is the decadent Vegan Mac n cheese! Really, really good vegan fast food.
I. M.
A nice Temple Burger and a date with Seitan😁
J. T.
This place is so good - unpretentious takeaway that is delicious!
It's everything you want from a simple burger/fried chicken place, without the animal products - and guaranteed you wont miss them either.
After a night out in Hackney, or anywhere close, this is absolutely where I would head.
C. S.
Friendly and helpful staff! Delicious and crispy patty, felt nicely unhealthy and it hit the spot even though it’s fully vegan so that’s a plus for me. It was however kind of messy and saucy.
E. L.
Really have no complaints about this place. I'm not vegan but I enjoyed it. Had the Ugly burger with a posh smiley face (old skool ones are defo less potato and more oil 😂🤣😂) with fries, shared some popcorn chicken with my friend too. Would defo go back. This branch has limited indoor seating though so you need to pick your time well. We got there around 230pm on a Sunday and JUST beat a little rush managing to nab a table indoors.
S. P.
Really loved my visit to the temple of seitan. I had the temple burger and Mac n cheese. Both was delicious, the mayonnaise was fantastic too. Will come again, keep doing what you're doing!
T. L.
Great place ... Great food
... And yes it is vegan but great food and vegan do not have to be exclusive
O. P.
Amazing burgers and fake chicken. The desserts look fantastic too. The seating is limited but 2 of us were able to find a spot in about 15 minutes.

* Overall Review on the Last Paragraph below
WHAT I HAD: Temple Burger [£8.00] Chick’n Fillet, Ranch Mayo, Bacon, Cheese, Lettuce & Pickles; Buffalo Wings (4 Pcs) [£6.00] with Ranch Mayo; Regular Mac n Cheese [£4.00]; Regular Coleslaw [£2.50] *I had the Temple Burger with Coleslaw and Drink as a Regular Combo [+£3.00 to Burger Order]
FINALLY got to try Temple of Seitan and I completely understand the hype behind this now. Wow. The Temple Burger and Buffalo Wings were really good.
Their Chick’n is tender, juicy, dense and meaty with a nice crunch from the breading that isn’t too thick. The cheese in the burger was more of a hard cheese that isn’t melted, which I didn’t mind as it added another dimension of savouriness, nuttiness and aged flavour to the burger. It was a well-constructed burger that let the Chick’n Fillet shine! The Buffalo wings were nice and spicy! The ranch mayo of course is the perfect dipping for it to balance out the spiciness and add some tang and creaminess. It was also served with some carrot sticks and lettuce shred which I find thoughtful. The Coleslaw was great – creamy, fresh, crunchy and well-seasoned. The Mac n Cheese was pretty good as well, topped with bacon bits, cream cheese and parmesan crumbs. The sauce was thick and flavourful but wasn’t as good after a couple of minutes when it quickly turned gummy. An alright vegan Mac n Cheese that hits the spot but not the best I’ve had.
The place is pretty spacious but there is quite few tables. As it’s really popular, most of the seats were taken up when I was there for lunch that I had to sit outside. It is situation outside a student accommodation building by the river so it is a quiet area and nice to sit out (if the weather permits). Still, I think they (and us customers!) really will benefit from more seating. Everything is self-service, like a fast food joint. Still, the staff who took my order was nice and smiley.
I definitely recommend Temple of Seitan for their amazing Vegan Seitan Chick’n (be it in burgers or wings)! Their prices are reasonable too, really worth it for what you get even for the sides of decent portions! I will definitely be coming back for more Vegan Chick’n!
A. B.
The food here speaks for itself. Everything is completely delicious.
I'm a long term flag-flying vegan but I am confident this place would more than satisfy even the most stubborn omnivores.
Recreates "classic meat" options with amazing flavour filled plants.
Decent size menu with lots of choice, little bit more on the spenny side (say in comparison to a high street chicken shop) but the quality and experience is completely worth it.
11/10 would absolutely recommend 😊
(I've only ever ordered online for delivery so can't comment on the instore experience)

What an interesting place. I passed it so many times and for some reason I never thought of coming in until my boyfriend told me that it is supposed to be a really good place. So we’ve had high expectations before we came in. They were extremely busy, but luckily we managed to get the last table. By the time we were eating they had massive queue already. The food was fantastic, especially the fries where really nice, we couldn’t work out what they did with them so we just ate it! Burgers were really nice as well, we were too full to try dessert, hopefully next time :))
m.
A bit crowded around lunch and dinner time, but definitely worth the wait. I got the "strip sub" and "mac and cheeze" and it was soo good, I 100% recommend. Not healthy, but delicious and vegan.
I. P.
The tastiest food ever. I would die for their food especially the snackbox and the new burger of the month.
O. Q.
What an amazing place, I need to go here more! Best vegan Mac and cheese I've ever had as well as some of the best burgers and chicken I've ever had as well. Wish there were more locations of this brand (open one in Essex please!!!)
Staff very friendly and welcoming with advice on what to do, even busy at a time I wouldent expect it to be so make sure you arrive with time to spare!
S. B.
Amazing! I've never tasted vegan food like this. The mac and cheese was incredible!! Photo doesn't do it justice. Only downside is not much space to eat. I visited on a very rainy Saturday and lingered long enough for a table. Please also ask people to stop leaving their rubbish for others to clean up outside? Or put a bin out? I will be back
B. M.
Delicious! Popped in with my other half and the burgers were amazing. If in the area, I would highly recommend checking this place out.
M. K.
Do they even NEED any more 5* reviews?! I'd give it a 10*. A bit of a wait, but relative to the queue the service is very fast. Mac'n'cheese can fool any cheese eater, and so can everything else really. A lunch meal here will keep you full for a day. (Or two?)
N. M.
This place is sooo good. 10/10 recommend to all vegans
A. T.
Best vegan fast food ever.
W. B.
The most amazing burger I've ever tasted. Only in London for a few days but am hoping to go back & try more. Only downfall is their coffee. Still definitely recommend a visit
M. B.
Incredible place. Seating is pretty limited and there can be a queue when it's busy but the food is totally worth it!
J. L.
Make no mistake.... this is Junk Food.... and it’s GREAT!
The atmosphere is positive on arrival, and I could tell I was not the only one who had made a journey to try out what is essentially a vegan version of a chicken shop.
Prices are good and the seating arrangement is ok, although rather basic. Outdoor seating is a bonus that makes up for this.
When it comes to flavours, these guys have got it down to a tee, and I would highly recommend either the buffalo wings or the 2 pieces.
Fries were ok, although a bit too oily for my tastes.
Overall a A real unhealthy and yet unbelievably tasty treat!
G. F.
Great take away! A real vegan dirty hit for food but oh so amazingly good
R. C.
brilliant food, lovely staff and great music playing too. can't fault the food or service, would highly recommend too all in the area, really fulfils your cravings!!!
E. S. N.
Fantastic vegan food! Excellent variety of burgers, my favourite is the cheese burger with bacon. The wings are the real deal and very filling.
S. H.
Ahh the food here is so yum! You do not miss meat at all! Really makes attempting veganism easier and so so yum. I would highly recommend the seitan burger which has a very chickeny consistency and is oh so satisfying! They also sell sweet treats like homemade vegan brownies! Will definitely return - really friendly staff. My only gripe is that it’s more of a takeaway but I will be checking out their Camden branch which has indoor seating!
S. G.
Awesome vegan fast food. Everything is good.
C. L.
Super friendly staff and a good selection of all major fast food variations. Slightly more expensive than the non-vegan counterparts, but the amount was quite generous, other than that can't really ask more for an awesome vegan place!
A.
Food was absolutely amazing. There was an issue ordering through the app but even though they were understaff, they were incredibly helpful and honest about the whole ordeal.
Great service and great food!
L. N.
If you take a lovely stroll down the canal side from Camden, you’ll come to this absolute gem!
A great place to grab some lunch, and absolutely delicious!
Fair warning, the food is really filling! I’ve never managed to finish a meal and always end up with some to take out.
It can get busy, so I always try to go here at unusual times and have always managed to snag a seat inside.
A. B. (.
Order through the app, collect at the shop, get points for your order, amazing taste, don’t miss Temple burger
N. N.
I just had the best meal of my life and I'm still in disbelief that it's all vegan??? Oh my god 🤤🤤🤤
D. P.
The wings are lit (literally, since they're hot) still get then tho. Would have been 5 stars, but a lot of unessacary packaging and the strawberry milkshake is too sweet. Otherwise great place ✌🏼
L.
Great environment with fun vibe! The food is perfect if you’re craving cruelty free salty fried food! Shout out to Jordan for helping us and providing awesome service!
K. S.
Phenomenal no other way to word it. Very filling and tasty, popcorn chicken is a but salty but the burger was incredible and lovely staff, very efficient. Outdoor sitting area. Just go!
C. A.
Great food and great service! The menu is huge here and a great variety, much bigger than the Hackney branch when I last visited. Lots of space to sit inside or out. Food arrived quick and was delicious! Prices were good for the food. Really nice atmosphere! Restaurant is kind of out the way though and was around a 15-20 minute walk from Camden Town station and it’s kinda hidden on the canal so keep your eyes peeled as there’s a sign pointing to the venue, kinda like office buildings!
E. M.
Great food, the best vegan burger I've ever had and vegan chicken wings to die for!
Only issue is that the food took a long time to prepare, espically for a fast food style type of place and I went when it was very quiet.
L. P.
This place was delicious, first time ever trying Vegan food and they did not dissapoint!! The Twist wrap and Animal snack pack were amazing, will definitely be coming back :))
A. H.
Great vegan burgers and Mac and cheese

Hail seitan! Was recommended by local vegans of this place. If you are craving nasty nasty vegan junk food, this is the place to be!
J. K.
So good. Just very tasty, a quick service.
J. W.
The best vegan food I’ve ever eaten. Sloppy, saucy seitan splendidness. Quick service and friendly staff.
L. B.
Even if you aren't vegan / veggie this place is well worth checking out.
B. W.
Delicious food. Very fast service and super friendly staff! From vegan bacon burgers to popcorn chicken and buffalo wings. I would recommend this place to non vegans also, very hard to tell the difference as the taste is spot on with real chicken /bacon/cheese/mayo etc. Last time I was there waiting for my order a non vegan came in not knowing about this place, he was just hungry after work. He asked for chicken wings, then realised it wasnt chicken, I remember him asking what this place was. The lady was very friendly and explained everything was made out of Seitan, he asked for her recommendation as a frist timer - she said the Temple burger. He sat with us out side and his face looked so shocked! With every bite he kept saying "I can't beliveve this is not real meat its amazing!"
L. C.
I hope one day Temple of Seitan make it to Sydney because their vegan fare was utterly delicious. Only minor thing was that the shop sits next to a butcher so if you're seated outside you get a constant waft of salted fish and animal flesh.
C. G.
Got the Nashville wings. They tasted great and the consistency was very satisfying - crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. Good value for money too, everything on the menu is basically less than 8 pounds. Would order from here again!
P. L.
Walking in, the place looks like a fast food restaurant, but everything is just a bit cleaner, quieter, and nicer looking than others. The staff were very friendly, taking our order with a name and calling it out to us when ready.
The tables are ostensibly for sharing, but most people there seemed to believe that spreading out over four seats meant that nobody would try to sit next to them.
We ordered the Temple Spicy Chik'n, the BBQ bacon burger and the buffalo wings with fries.
All the food was very good. We are both avid meat eaters and the food was close enough to the real thing that even if we weren't already open minded about seitan, we'd have been convinced! The chik'n was juicy and well flavoured, the cheese had me fooled, the "beef" had a great flavour and texture. Chips were fresh and crispy too.
The only issue I had was that the "buffalo" sauce on the wings tasted more like currywurst sauce (ketchup with a few curry spices), rather than the traditional buffalo sauce (Frank's). It was really tasty nonetheless, and we devoured them.
Portion sizes and prices are good - a burger is £5 or £6, fries are £2 for a normal portion, and a combo meal will fill you up.
I'll be back.
J. A. G.
The vegan mac n cheese here is so yummy and well worth the trek to come eat it from far away 😋
F. U.
Unique, awesome, utterly finger licking deliciousness....as a vegan you have a duty to go. Friendly staff, great location in buzzy area of Hackney :)
M. M.
If youre looking for a vegan alternative to fried chicken, or any typical fast food this place is it!
I used to love KFC and fried chicken in general, and struggled finding a good alternative since going vegan. Happy that it's available, and nothing is lacking in flavor, only in cruelty 🙏
I. K. (. K.
Definitely a must visit place if you fancy some fried chicken which isn't chicken lol.
The wait is worth it as its so unique and tasty.
Firstly the batter is crazy crunchy and doesn't come across greasy. They don't skimp on their sauce and is quality and tasty, especially the chipotle sauce on the burger and pieces.
If its your first time, i would recommend getting the burger and pop corn as a side. Chips are standard.
N. F.
Great plant based burgers, but the ordering experience meant having to order and through the app when signal was bad and there wasn't any free WiFi.
A.
Im not a vegetarian myself but I've been to a load of these types of places with my vegetarian girlfriend. This is by far the best tasting and most convincing vegetarian food place we've been to. It was amazing! Highly recommend.
S. R.
Just wonderful vegan food, burgers and mac n cheese is fantastic.
P. C.
Always delicious, and the staff are always amazing. Can't get enough of this place!!
Picture is of their monthly special, the 'vegan ugly'. It's as ugly as it is incredible to eat.
N. E.
Amazing vegan food! Definitely will visit again!
A. G.
The staff are all extremely lovely here and the food is delicious. I've noticed that there are a few reviews claiming there are no toilets here, but there are definitely 2 toilets upstairs!
P. B.
Just had this delivered. Really great meat alternative and very tasty. I'm really stuffed we ordered the 12 piece share bucket and the pieces were massive. The mac n cheese is awesome and almost as good as my Mum's.
D. P.
Very good food, tasty, and service is amazing, staff are super friendly
R. G.
Went for lunch with a work friend having heard a lot about the place. Definitely has its ups and downs I'd say. The vegan mac and cheese was only okay and was a bit off putting to watch it being assembled from what looked like bags of cooked pasta and pre-made sauce. The fried imitation chicken was delicious, the coating well seasoned and proper junk food. Whole thing very filling, probably ordered too much for lunch which is on me! Pinched a couple of fries from my friend and the chicken salt added a good flavour, but again seeing the bag of pre-made (maybe frozen) fries being cut open and tipped into the fryer was a little disappointing. Staff very friendly. Place has character but not much space. Would return for the fried chicken but would definitely order to share next time due to price and how filling it was.
S. g.
Best vegan grub in London, vegan fast food perfect for those cheat days!
D. M.
Amazing food and great that they have gluten free options :) however I got a bit sick afterward and wonder if it was from cross contamination :( Other than that it is wonderful. Pic is of my the burger my boyfriend got

The chicken was really good. The wings are really similar to the strips so I wouldn’t recommend ordering both if you want a variation. The Mac and cheese was a bit al denté but the chicken and their sauce selection and staff deserve 5 stars.

Called about 5pm on Sunday and had a mighty fine 'Seitan's little helper', and this delivered a festive dollop of tasty junk food! Nice to have wide range of options rather than just picking the token veggie option. Service was quick and friendly, and was able to get seated easily enough (but it was the last wet Sunday before Xmas). Can't fault the burger, but the suger free coke wasn't the best tasting, and despite being relatively quiet and with seemingly plenty of staff the waste bin was overflowing onto the floor. Burger was £9.50 on its own, so not cheap, but I enjoyed it so felt happy enough. So close to 5 stars, and I will definitely be back.

Other temples and churches are known for creating great emotion in mankind. The Sistine chapel. Angkor Wat. The Golden Temple. The Temple of Seitan.
What an amazing experience. As someone who recently turned vegan and who was massively missing fried chicken this place was a GODSEND! Succulent. Juicy. Finger lickin good. This was better than fried chicken. Colonel Sanders, watch your step.
B.
I was so happy to finally have the opportunity to eat something so tasteful!! Something that i've missed being a vegan,is a truly tasty "junk" meal!! The "chicken" bites, were better that the actual ones of KFC ( my husband's words, who isn't a vegan)
R. F. S.
I'm not vegan and the taste is incredible. Great food

Had a takeaway from their Hammersmith kitchen. Absolutely delicious! Burgers were super tasty, the “chickn” so crunchy and well spiced. Mac’n’cheese was great and the fries were crisp and perfectly seasoned. Such a treat!
Oh and they sent a complimentary bottle of their gorgeous garlic Mayo with a lovely message. Amazing personal touch.

L. J.
Great Vegan wraps and burgers! Good prices too. I missed of a star because there’s no toilet.
K. W.
Great food but you better like everything on the menu if you order delivery because what they actually send you is always a bit of a gamble. If not you better have a backup plan, I've needed it twice in a row but "fool me twice shame on me" so I'll just not bother anymore.
Better off getting it in person and checking before you leave the building if Boris every lets us do that again.
L. M.
The new ‘you can only order with an app’ and if you don’t have the app- you literally cannot order, absolutely ridiculous, what about those that do not have a smart phone? That aside, best vegan chicken & Mac and cheese. The ‘brownies’ are not good though, it’s like a dry really bland cake.
C. N.
This is the best vegan burger I've had 🤪 100% going back. I had the bbq bacon.
M. T.
Great vegan fast food restaurant. There’s a bit of a misconception that being meat free is synonymous with being “healthy” - well, that’s just not true, and sometimes all you want is a stack of wings... minus the chicken. I wasn’t sure about the texture of the chicken wings I got, but my partner who had the Temple burger was very happy with his choice. Keen to start working my way through the menu.
L.
A must try vegan friend chicken burger. Definitely the most realistic I have had.

A good little fast food place near Kings Cross. Don't be fooled, it says Camden but is a good 15 minutes from the tube station (although it is a lovely walk along the canal). The food was good and service was brilliant. It is constantly busy, so expect to share tables with strangers! Enjoy!
K. R.
Camden restaurant was awesome staff were amazing, one guy was especially nice and super helpful. The only down side was not have enough time or belly space to try more stuff.
Y. L.
Personal must-try suggestions: the temple cheeseburger, buffalo wings with lemon pepper mayo and Mac and cheese. Would be nice if we could have less disposable packaging for food and water. Hopefully this will change soon ☺️
C. M.
I had a mouthwatering seitan burger and loved every bite. Try the Mac and cheese! You won't regret it

Absolutely incredible food... The Temple 'chicken' burger is wow. Recommend having a Biscoff shake too - the cream on top is light and airy!

Filling portions for the price, and tastes really similar to chicken. I almost couldn't believe it wasn't! Must try, even if you're not vegan. 5/5

Incredible quality food, flawless!
Really decent value, expecially considering it is in London.
Nice location, very easy to get to from the tube.
Great service too.

Travelled from Devon to Hammersmith and cycled to the edge of our life to Hackney but it was worth it! Chips were banging and the burger was crispy and great! Will be coming again!

This food is amazing! Great if you‘re craving a vegan fast food burger. The decor is cool and the music was great. Really friendly staff and the prices weren’t too bad. The only downside is that it’s a little out of the way. Definitely worth a visit though!

i love it! its so much more enjoyable to sit in as its a much bigger shop than the hackney location. its a brand new build so its lovely and clean and modern inside. the shop has a big outside seating area and gate leads you straight onto the canal, which would be lovely to sit by in summer!
staff were really lovely and friendly, and the music playlist was so good!
from someone that used to love a kfc or dixy chicken, this is my dream vegan junk food, i love this place! I had the popcon chicken, the coating on the seitan is so perfect!! they also give you a great portion of fries which are some of the best ive had from fast food. great selection of sauces and different mayos on the menu, the chipotle is by far my favourite :P also now have a selection of desserts that look amazing! but was way too stuffed for any more food
cant wait to revisit soon!
R. Z.
So, this place is vegan. Which is great, all for it. But why does it pretend it's not? The menu proudly announces Chic'n! and includes words like 'fillet', 'wings' or 'patty'. Which these are not. They are fake wings. I only realised it is all vegan after reading about it on my tray. And actually thinking about it - when ordering I asked for the chicken burger. It would have been nice if someone told me: mate, this is all vegan.
Also, my fake chicken fillet was not great, even for vegan standards - I could taste breadcrumbs and flour, which is disappointing for £9.5 with a side of soggy chips.
Finally, random references to the occult are random. Hope this improves bescuse location and staff is nice.
P.S.
Checking the menu now, it even includes 'bacon' and 'cheese' lol.
E. G.
Really tasty fast food and burgers. But be aware portions are huge, so we had to take it home. So best is sharing. I had a tempe burger and it really tasted like a chicken burger, there are options for more hot and spicy burgers if you are a lover of a bit hot hot and spicy. We also had chick'n nuggets(huge portion and great for sharing) and they were mouthwatering and crunchy. Would be nice to get some free sauce to dip in. And, lastly, we had mac'n' cheese and fries(they have two flavours but so yum), both were so finger licking good that we managed to stuff it in as much as we could (one of the reasons we had to take away some food) so again good for sharing. The atmosphere is nice, not too loud so you can go for a good catch up
A. K.
Yeah it’s good. Do we need meat? You’ll ask after eating Temple Cheese.
Q. O.
The food was lovely, however with the new ordering system it's a bit difficult to see what you are getting especially with the meal deal. But they fixed it up for me. The fries are phenomenal, I will be ordering again this Friday but with medium fries this time!
I do gotta say though the last time I went, before this time, the service was appalling. There's a guy in there who looked at me like I was nobody instead of helping me out as I am the customer and the lady who was handing out the food did have a bit of an attitude but was helpful on the day I came back. I did hear about the bad service when they were down by the canal but for some reason I always had good service there, but I've had the joy of receiving the attitude.
For good food yes, if you're looking for great service than it's a 50/50.
D. G.
What's up with getting my order cancelled or the cancelling ordering when it's still around 20 minutes to closing time???? Notes are not adhered to too sometimes.. Really cool product, when it actually delivers..

so. much. effort. to make sure my order was as gluten-free as it could possibly be. they also asked me if i had a serious food allergy (not just preference), when i told them i had celiac disease they also let me know about possible cross-contamination bc they work with seitan a lot (which is pure gluten) and warned me. the kitchen girl checked back twice to make sure i had the right, gluten-free box because she didn’t want me to feel sick later and explained it was made out of soy instead of seitan. thank you so much for your kindness. food was also amazing. both seitan and soy meat option :) (döner snack pack)

Good service ( the one on morning lane). The only thing is, it actually tasted like meat. I would not get the temple burger again as it tasted like actual chicken. This is the perfect place for people who miss the taste of meat. The Mac n cheese and chips were really tasty.

Cool location too, when the sun is shining you can take your food and go sit by the canal.
Had the twist wrap this time and it’s so full of flavour and texture - top points!
I’ve been back and opted for popcorn bites, so generous, really fresh and unsurprisingly delicious! I added the sriracha
D. J. G.
Really tasty vegan alternatives for fried chicken. The fillet is really tasty as are the fries and the tots. Also really enjoyed the fudge cake. I would most definitely go back and I hope they open up more branches soon.
E. T. N.
The chicken sub was delish! Worth The wait! The mixture of mayo and siracha inside sub really compliments it well!
d. c.
Amazing spot for food. Worth giving a go if vegan. Nashville Chilli burger probably best burger I've ever had
R. T.
Amazing vegan food, the seitan is incredible!!!
D. H.
Yummy dirty vegan burgers. Excellent gravy too
A. L.
Good Vegan food, as a non vegan I'd say it is different to a KFC burger, but equally as tasty.
Unfortunately, technical difficulties with ordering is why this isn't a 5 star review
M. T.
The best vegan food I’ve ever had in my life. Only con they didn’t give me a fork for my vegan Mac and cheese. Only cam to London for a weekend. I wish they had on of these places in Birmingham.
H.
The best vegan food in London! I went with two meat eaters back in February they both loved the food too! The restaurant is clean, the staff are super friendly and the whole experience was amazing. Thank you! :) <3
L. D.
GREAT! VEGAN! JUNKFOOD!

Delicious vegan fast food
N. N.
This place is awsome, always busy so I guees thats a good sign, staff are great and good service, not to mention they do a banging burger worth every star..see you again soon guys
B. A.
The temple was buzzing with activity with covid in full swing. Customers wearing masks waiting to be called for their orders. The food is divine, the best vegan junk food I've had the pleasure of tasting in my life and a must have if you're in London for any amount of time.
V. M.
Loved it! Delicious food, a must-try for vegans and omnivores alike. Finding the location isn't immediately straightforward but there are signs on the street to help guide you (or just follow your nose). The shop sits about 25 and can get busy in the evening, an array of condiments on the table (including sriracha). The menu is full of mouth-watering options. I tried the buffalo wings (£5 for 4) which were delicious; generously sauced, spicy, and the seitan had a great texture. Wings come with a few vegetable sticks a choice of mayo, I got the ranch variety which is definitely more like mayo than ranch and a welcome relief from the spicy wings. The chips are good too, the large portion is very generous.
M. “. D.
Woo hoo....
The ever inventive and very tasty Temple Of Seitan now have a swanky new place with dining area and everything.
Go there, even if you just buy a cake.
A. S.
It's not meat! Which is the coolest part. Definetly get yourself a burger. Portions are big and the burger by itself is actually enough.
M. O. (.
Very good food. Well priced mains. Filling and delicious umami vegan dishes.
B.
So word on the street is vegan just got a lot tastier. Mac and cheese is dope, the burger was very filling so I would recommend getting it without fries. I wasn't a huge fan of the 'chicken' pieces/wings and the fries are just thin-style McCains french fries which aren't really my thing. Fairly priced, good selection of music chosen by the staff too. Fun concept. Worth a visit if you're craving junk food. Seitan doesn't really sit well in my stomach though as it's just textured wheat-protein so for that, I give it a star less.
E. C.
Awesome, super nice guys working. Had the spicy burger and the Mac n cheese!
D. M.
While I am not vegan, I surely enjoy GOOD vegan food! I ordered the "wings" in the flavor Buffalo. I have a chili pepper allergy (which is in things like hot sauce and buffalo sauce) so I asked the guy how hot the buffalo was because I do well with things like mild - medium buffalo sauce without having a reaction. He told me he thought they weren't hot and were on the mild side. I sat down with my friend and after one bite I could instantly tell these were hot buffalo wings, like hot spicy buffalo sauce. I tried a second bite but after the second bite my lips and tongue started tingling and swelling a little so I couldn't eat them. I felt bad but asked if they wouldn't mind exchanging them for the Original flavor, which is like traditional crispy fried chicken. They did so for me and I was very thankful for that as I was able to enjoy my "wings"! They were absolutely delicious! My friend ordered the wings in Hot (they come in Original, Buffalo, Hot, and BBQ) and even she, who is Asian, and has a high heat tolerance could barely finish them. She admitted they were too spicy for even her taste. So if you go there, and like very spicy food then get the Buffalo or Hot, otherwise I'd recommend the Original or BBQ! Also, the "wings" don't resemble wings, I know they're vegan but they definitely resemble chicken strips! They look exactly like chicken strips. Just not wings. Will be back though!
C.
Hits the spot if you want junk food and vegan - their mac and cheese is the bomb. They've upgraded the site to a location right opposite the road so I'm pleased to see more seating and a bigger kitchen area for staff! However I waited 10 minutes for 2 strips of seitan when there was one other couple in the shop (already seated and eating) in a really quiet time. I live around the area so have seen the price jump up quite a lot for a smaller portion than before.
t. S.
Loved the egg and bacon breakfast roll :) looking forward to coming back for lunch sometime soon!
M. A.
Not much seating which is fair for a chicken shop but the food wasnt all that either. Still really nice to have the vegan option though. I was excited for the mac n cheese but after you've eaten the crispy bit at the top its not nice anymore. The spicy chicken burger is also extremely hot (more so than you'd expect)
P.
Great food and generous portions. Will definitely come back.
Even if you're not vegetarian/vegan, this is a place you'd want to go to
M. C.
I wanted to give it a try for a while, as it has been on my list of places to go, I'm neither a vegan or a vegetarian, but I like visiting restaurants that cater for people who are, because the food can be tasty.
The staff were polite and friendly and customer service was super great and they were fast, this place can get real busy, so be prepared. After eating the wrap, I'm not sure what to think of it, the texture was good, but, there was no taste to it, it tasted of fried grease and mayanose with black pepper. I will go back to give it another go, however, this time, I will get the wrap or burger with fries and drink.
I would recommend going it to try for yourself. Heads up, this place is small and there are no seats inside, just seats and tables outside, not sure if the seats are around in the winter months.
K. B.
Food here is amazing!
Even if your not vegan you'll love the food here. I have to admit the buffalo wings have a different texture to what I remembered a while ago, but still tasted good!
Staff are great, friendly and welcoming. Recommend visiting here!
N. D.
Temple of seitan is a wonderful concept and one of the forerunners in London’s extensive vegan scene. It helped shift the zeitgeist and paved the way for several other junk food vegan brands. Unfortunately, the company has failed to deliver on the ‘fast’ part of fast food. The queues in both branches are always astronomical and when visiting Camden on Saturday it was over an hour and ten minutes from ordering to receiving our food. My friend was then informed that her gluten free food had been given to somebody else so she had to wait longer. The food itself is still strong, although other vegan establishments may have surpassed it slightly in quality of substitute ch*cken. The staff are friendly but definitely need more training on how to effectively manage the popularity of both branches. I would suggest they remove themselves from Deliveroo etc as these orders were adding to the extensive back orders and leaving patrons in the restaurant unsatisfied. I feel as if with some shifts in the way the restaurants are actually managed this could be a 4/5* experience particularly for those just embarking on their vegan adventure but for now temple is being left in the dust.

Amazing vegan food 🖤
M. D. L.
I am not vegetarian, but I was genuinely curious to try their offer. Honestly, it's delicious. We had (fake) spicy chicken wings, truly delicious, but I was seriously impressed by the macaroni & cheese, which is usually a bit mild and useless. This was amazing, the cashew-nuts-based sauce was super tasty. Absolutely recommended, can't wait to try it again!
J. S.
Wow! Very impressed. I'm increasingly venturing into plant-based and vegan fare and boy did ToS deliver. I ordered the BBQ bacon cheeseburger with fries, which went down a total treat ;-)
L. J.
Fast service, great food, lots of tables, points scheme to get free food
F. t.
I am in love with the food here. So much flavour and a lot of choices. I am satisfied every time I am here. Wish there were more of these places 😃
J. T.
100 percent amazing. Brought my carnivore mum along who was very sceptical but thougg the popcorn chickn wasamazing and the chips. I had the wrap which was delicious.
S. E.
I really enjoyed it!
It is rather pricey, with each dish either £6 or £5. That's the negative.
I went on a Wednesday at around 7.15 PM and I was in and out in 10 minutes. I had two pieces of chicken, fries, chicken popcorn and mac'n'cheese. That was plenty for two!
They have a deal with the pub down the road so you can go and have a pint and your food there.
It's not healthy food, but I loved the flavours and texture. My partner is an omnivore and he said that it tastes like the real deal.
Glad to see they are doing well, I will definitely come back.
D. M.
Fantastic vegan food! Plenty of levels of spice. Popcorn snack pack was really tasty and was a good sized portion. Great value.
J. K.
Finally tried the vegetarian burger and wings which was actually quite nice and really enjoyed it. Great to see that people from far actually come down to taste the food being served. Just to say the staff working offered a fantastic service and even a few banter and jokes, very down to earth too. This was a taste of my transition to going meat free and I enjoyed it.
J. J.
Holy smokes all the hype is real. The fries are top notch and fried to perfection, at least to my tastes. I was able to eat all of it without any sauce! I got the burger of the month and it was pretty delish. Can’t wait to try their other menu items. I went on a Friday evening before bar closing hours so there was no wait.
D. D.
Truly wonderful delicious food served by some of the loveliest folks in the food biz. Must do for anyone hankerung after vegan fast food...truly to be savoured. Wish there were more branches! Try the deluxe Temple Burger. It is so worth the trip.
Z. B.
No guilt amazing vegan fast food heaven
V. L.
Finally stopped by this weekend after cycling past many times, seeing long queues waiting to be served.
Staff was helpful and friendly, service was quick. Presentation of the food was good, the premises were nice and clean.
The batter on their 'chicken' burgers was very good, the actual burger 'meat' tasted very bland and rubbery unfortunately.
It might be a haven for vegan, but it did not turn me into one.
M. W.
Everything I've tried is amazing, lovely staff and a nice location :--)
J. M. N.
I went there with a extreme hunger so my opinion taste could have been affected. Anyway, I really enjoy the wings! It is years I don’t eat meat, I don’t miss it either; it is just something new! Even the fries were amazing. From now on, I am a regular.
u. z.
Excellent food! Even if you're vegan or not the food here is great and will definitely change your ideas about vegan food and the potential of vegan food. The temple spicy burger is my personal favourite and I've heard that the BBQ wings are ones to try.
T.
So the reason im giving this place 3 stars is the quality of food at times.
on some occasions the food has been excellent and cooked perfectly and full flavoursome and at times it is dry and ive had difficulty finishing it. This is only regarding the fake meat products.
On a good day the burgers are amazing and i meal all of them, my faviourte is the mac n cheese which is a god send.
personally not a fan of the wings or chicken strips or popcorn chicken as the seitan by itself is pretty bland and dry, however if you get the bbq or chili flavoured option then they are good.
I cant comment on milkshakes or desserts becuase i havnt personally tried them but have heard only good things about them.
I would recomend everyone to give it a shot for themselves, i love it hence why i keep going back even after some poor offers, ita a shame they're not consistent.
H.
After much hype and countless recommendations, I finally decided to make the long and arduous journey up to North London to sample the delights of the aptly named Temple of Seitan. Having tried fried chicken in a previous life from the likes of KFC, I knew it would be a tough act to try and replicate and so I didn't expect to be wowed. But for fryin out loud it's as close as you'll bloody get that's for sure. We had the original wings and Nashville burger, and both were very decent. They've done a cluckin good job on the batter, and while the texture isn't exactly like chicken, who cares? Its still finga lickin good, if I'm allowed to say that. They lose a star only because it's quite pricey, and also because the menu is so high up I almost broke my neck tryna read it.
S. W.
Tok my daughter here as she is vegan. Bit pricey but good products, generous portions and v friendly staff. The mock chicken tasted just like real meat! seems like the vegan alternative of Five guys. Great idea, hope to return.
H.
The best vegan food in London! I went with two meat eaters back in February they both loved the food too! The restaurant is clean, the staff are super friendly and the whole experience was amazing. Thank you! :) <3

Can't believe they're all vegan made! Had the spicy burger and it was so gawd

Yummy!

Amazing experience! The members of staff were super nice and thoughtful, highly professional and chill. The food and beverages were
delicious and exceeded expectations.
Congratulations!
Carry on with the great work.

Best vegan fast food!

amazing burgers, doner and mac and cheese
they fill it to the top for you and give u as much as they can the price is totally worth it and they are very nice
I. S.
Food is amazing, staff very helpful but just make sure you check your order as they are very busy so sometimes forget an item or so.
R. T.
Amazing vegan food, the seitan is incredible!!!
P.
my fav place to get vegan food!
It's affordable and super delicious would recommend everyone to go there!
B. W.
Can't wait to go back and try something else. The burgers are hefty and taste amazing. I could eat this every day.
D. E.
Food was delicious and 100% vegan, portions were a really good size and worth the money, there was free water on the counter and the staff were super nice. It was also a lovely walk along the canal to get to it and I think would make a great place to have a date or just a nice day out
J. B.
Food itself was tasty and enjoyable. Their varied menu promotes seitan and other vegan options well. However took a long long time and the venue is teeny with limited drinks options alongside. Will return for the food not the venue
A. Z.
We decided to give this place a try due to the great reviews and publicity. We arrived at 7pm on Friday to a very long queue, that was out of the door. There are limited options, and the menu is slightly confusing as it isn't clear what you get with some of the options. For such a long queue, we waiting only 20 minutes to get our order, which was slightly long but doable. The staff were also very pleasant considering the stress they faced!
The food itself was nice although a little too salty, and the portion sizes were generous, so was very good value for money. Nothing too impressive, in my opinion, but considering there aren't very many vegan fast food places, this is one to try until more pop up.
Note, there is no where to sit other than a couple of benches outside.
L. P.
Yummy vegan food, over priced - maybe affordable for gentrified hipsters, some staff are nice, some are super rude and one lady (French girl) makes me uncomfortable with the rude facial expression I get every time she serves me. Don’t want to go back in there and prefer to make seitan at home now that I’ve mastered the recipe. Was better when it first opened, a shame they raised the prices so much and made it difficult for fellow vegans to indulge.
R. “. C.
Quite popular. Food is not so bad but if trying to replicate the taste of a real chicken burger then not really anywhere near. Price is fine for what you get. They do need to consider going for an dine in type of restaurant. It is very popular!
g. v.
What a great "chicken" burger i had from there, as a vegetarian for some while now it is refreshing to find somewhere that has such diversity in their menu. Great lunch a short walk from work. Still not a huge fan of vegan cheese but personal preference. Will definitely be going back.
M. R.
Best vegetarian chicken in town! I am addicted to their 'popcorn bites'. It can get pretty busy in the weekends, but people there work non-stop and would let you know when they have long waiting times before placing your order!
And as of January 2020 they have gone cashless, so they only accept card payments
S. B.
Really lush food and friendly service...I shall definitely be back 💚🖤💚
E. B.
The 'chicken' is great, especially the texture. However, it's ruined by the poor quality bun/roll (if you have the burger or sub). The coleslaw is yummy and the mac and cheese is awesome. Service was slow and the whole experience felt a bit shambolic. This could easily be a 5 star review with some good brioche buns and better organisation.
E. M.
Superb, lives up to and exceeds its reputation. I had the hot chicken burger and chips. Chips are like a skinnier burger King chip and are very good. Burger was stacked and quite expensive but totally worth it, Chicken was awesome and also the best vegan cheese I've eaten.
I.
Top tier seitan food, strongly recommend in the Camden early. Gives you chicken shop vibes without the chicken.
M.
I normally make my own seitan, but wanted to check this place about because of the reviews. I’m from New York and miss Red Bamboo and was hoping this place would fill the vegan soul food void in my life. I got the 2 fillets for £5. The size of the fillets are massive for the price, but I gave it 3 stars because it was super greasy and mostly tasteless. However, I’ll probably come back to try something else. It was jam packed when I got there so they must have something better.
M. K. M.
Fast food to die for. Amazing fried fake chicken and burgers that would turn any open minded person vegan. The location is really cute along the river but I wish there was more seating.
E. N.
AMAZING! Came down from Birmingham just for this and it was 110% worth it. Fast service and great food!
D.
Nothing special, just bog-standard vegan fast food.
G. M.
Arrived Tuesday around 2 pm..not many people which was great ..small outside seating area..non inside..i had the spicy burger..lovely crunchy batter and the inside was tasty too..not too spicy which was great..it could have been hotter though as in cooked through more thoroughly.
Way too much mayo and orange sauce ..would be better if that was left to self service..and personally wish the burger and bun were smaller. It's massive! Lol.
Chips are skinny and tasty. You get a free can of pop if you have chips.Would be great if the sold tea and coffee too.
Overall very happy..just a few tweaks to make this place perfect.
L. P.
Best vegan chicken ever! Went on a Saturday and it looked busy the entire afternoon, but the wait was worth it. Luckily the weather was decent and we got to eat on one of the two tables outside. There's no indoor seating fyi, but everyone still seemed super content eating outside on the steps.
B. G.
As a relatively recent convert to vegetarianism, I find this to be a great place to satisfy any comfort food cravings, and the staff are super friendly.
O. C.
Hot wings were pretty nice (more like mini fillets), burgers weren't amazing but still the closest thing to fried chicken I've had since going veggie!
The main ingredient, seitan, is literally pure gluten, not the greatest on the ole digestive system and not something I'd want to consume regularly...
Fun as a one-off novelty but wouldn't eat there again!
V. C.
Wow!!!!! If all vegan food are this good everyone will be vegan!!
I had the buffalo burger. It was dirty, messy, and I had to lick off the sauce from the wrapper (because it was THAT good). It was DIVINE!
Hail Seitan indeed!
By the way, they are no longer at 5 Morning Lane. They are across the road. Look for the sign that says “Temple of Hackney”.
R. M.
Incredible. We were told it was good but you have to try it to know how good it is. Definetly recommended.
c. e.
Genuinelly can't describe how amazing the mac n cheese is although I'm always to full on the night and have to save some till breakfast. The burgers are crazy Good, fresh delicious and consistent. Chips are solidly average but a nice addition to the meal. If your vegan or not go check them out!
C. M.
Most AMAZING food!
C. T.
Always love the food from here, great to get something tasty and vegan. Mac and cheese is particularly good but to be honest I've tried lots of their food and yet to have something that wasn't good. Its also consistent which is always good for a food place. Does tend to get busy so there can be a short wait and it would be good if they were open a bit later.
D. V.
I've been a vegetarian all my life so I was reluctant to try this. Omg I'm so glad I did. The burger is so amazing. The staff are so amazing!! Can't fault this place. No wonder they're always busy. They don't have a lot of seating space however don't let this deter you.
E. N.
So delicious that you can't believe it's not real fried chicken! Super crispy batter that was well seasoned. The burger was overloaded with sauce and made it a bit messy to eat, but would 100% come back here!
P. R.
The food was outstanding
K. M.
Mostly take out but there are ways a couple of tables and benches outside. I think the popcorn "chicken" is much better than the pieces, the mac and "cheese" is nice but would benefit from some paprika or pepper.
Definitely a great place to bring your vegan and veggie friends who are craving fried chicken. Most stuff is about £5 and the portions are a good size.
R. R.
Love the food here! Really love the new eco-friendly packaging.
Maybe should have an option of less packaging when sitting in? Dont want the lovely paper bags to go to waste after a single use. Although I can see why they pack every single orders. Also would love to have more space to sit but then its mostly takeaway.
O. G.
Amazing food. The vegan Mac and Cheese was insanely good. I'm not even a vegan (Or vegetarian) but the food was delicious. Not really anywhere to sit, there are a few squished tables outside, otherwise it's best to take away
R. S.
First of all I am a non-Vegan reviewer. Food was great. The chicken substitute was nice tasting but what made it great was the way it was battered, cooked and presented, so together with the v.tasty Mac N Cheese it was a great takeaway meal. To be clear, for me, the faux chicken is not as tasty as well prepared and cooked chicken, but few restaurants, and even less takeaways, cook (real) chicken this well.
P. P.
Excellent vegan "chicken style" food. Simple ordering and fast service. Could do with more seating, but otherwise excellent. We took a train to go there and even though we ended up eating on a bench outside Tesco, I'd still go again.
A. S.
Great food! Not a lot of room to sit down, so I took mine to the park.
A. P.
Amazing new place! Bit out of the way, you'd only come across this place if you knew it was there! Feel the quality/taste of the 'chicken' has changed to since I last visited their first shop in hackney
R. E.
The food is outta this world! It tastes great, texture is on point and the staff are cool and friendly. Only thing I don't like is that there isn't a Temple of Seitan in West London (where I live) and that there's hardly any seating but we were lucky and got one :)
M. H.
Expensive vegan fast food. Only outside seats but you can stand and eat inside. The food is promised within 10 minutes of ordering but is obviously can be faster, depending on previous orders. Don't expect too much and you will be satisfied with the experience! A meal of fries, a sandwich and a drink costs £9 here but they accept credit cards. No vinegar or mustard!
D. O.
I'm a non vegan and went along with a friend. Food is good but overpriced for what's essentially a take away.
They do offer seating outside but I had to clean it myself as it was filthy.
Limited menu, very limited drink options. I'd suggest at least fruit juice even in carton form.
Average service, definitely nothing to get overly hyped about. Opposite tesco and in front of a bus stop with a meat wholesale shop directly next to you.
T. R.
There was a line of people waiting for it to open, which is probably all you need to know!
Amazing vegan junk food near hackney tube station. Staff friendly, prices reasonable. Very hard to get this kinda thing anywhere else in my experience. If you're into vegan junk food, absolutely essential if in London.
M. G.
Absolutely fantastic! Loved the food and great service.
V. P.
Great food but lack of seats too many tables of 4 with 1 or 2 people on them who are not willing to share
C. R.
Amazing food and very quick! Highly recommended for veges and vegans out there
J. S.
Best macaroni n cheese I've ever had. Hot wings were too salty for me - I think that was a mistake but regardless Temple's manager dealt with it very satisfactorily and also gave me some plain wings to try which were delicious. Very classy customer service. I will be back for that mac n cheese.
G. G.
Very tasty vegan fast food. Friendly and helpful service. Reasonably priced. Way too much sauce in the burger. Made it very messy to eat! Only a few seats outside, none inside.
R. Z.
Turn left after picture house, across the tesco... Worth every penny for the queues..
E. S.
As a die hard meat eater I was really curious to try it out. The chicken is incredible. So so so good. The worst bit of my burger was the bread, tasted a bit stale and fell apart, probably just unlucky. The Mac and Cheese is total perfection. Seem to be some teething issues getting the place going, ran out of food and the staff were a bit confused. But sure they'll find their feet soon. Will be back.
E. B.
3 stars at best, pretty mediocre. The burger was cold, the bun was cool not even room temperature. Too expensive for what it is. Basically fad like place with a name that draws people in. Not worth the £8+ for the chilled burger.
K. G.
Originally found Temple of Seitan when they were a street food stall so it's awesome that they now have a permanent place which is so popular. I came on a weekday evening - we managed to grab a seat outside and service was quick. I'd recommend you order a bunch of dishes to try (which is what we did) but the popcorn bites came out tops for me. The Dalston cola is delicious for washing it all down too. The perfect spot for cruelty-free comfort / junk food!
N. A.
Much to my surprise - entirely delicious! Had a “chicken” burger, great taste and texture. I’ll be back!
L. P.
Absolutely incredible. Such good food. Generous portions so good value for money and there's even stuff for us gluten intolerant vegans! (The chicken nuggets are soya and not seitan!!) The staff there were all SO nice, they even gave me free stuff on my first visit. Wish I could go all the time!
S. J.
I have had food bought for me from here a few times before but never bought it for myself. Last week I went myself as it is only a short bus ride away. My family had just suffered a major bereavement and I ended up getting a bit flustered and upset in the shop, the staff were very kind to talk to and gave me an extra brownie to cheer me up. I love all the food here and prices are reasonable. I also like how they sell anything left over at closing time at a massive discount, more businesses should do this.
T. S.
Love what they are doing. Haven't been in a while, I remember the food being good but was confused to think whether I was enjoying the vegan chicken or whether it was all the cheese and sauce it was covered in that changed the taste for me. Either way.... I do like food so whatever trevor
A. M.
Amazing. Great service, even gave us some freebies to try. Mac n cheese (not real cheese) is fantastic! The breaded seitan have a good crunch, and go well in burgers. Thoroughly enjoyed it, and it brings something to the table that doesn't exist other wise - vegan breaded fried goodness! Not for the health conscious though surely better than chicken. Seating is tight if you want to eat there. But at the end of the day: it's a take away.
c. c. (.
As a non vegan I was very hesitant going into the Temple of Seitan with my vegan friend. I ended up getting a bacon burger and popcorn chicken . First thing I would like to say, when you see popcorn chicken it's more similar to chicken strips from mcdonalds in size. And the burger has to be the nicest and juiciest burger I've had in a very long time even with real meat burgers being a thing! I would definitely reccomend any non vegan and vegans alike to try this if you havent already it is Devine! TL;DR / 3 word summary - gourmet vegan takeout !
A. A. C.
Can't believe they're all vegan made! Had the spicy burger and it was so gawd
C. W.
A bit off the beaten track but still a busy location. I had the Spicy burger which was absolutely awesome. Great food even if you aren't following a vegan diet.
S. M.
So so. I’m not a vegan but thought I’d try it out. The temple spicy burger was good. Could do with a slice of tomato IMO. Was the patty as good or tasty as a normal chicken patty? NO, the look is there but not the texture or the taste. BUT that’s not the point. It’s a cruelty-free decent burger.
Mac n cheeze was a total let down, it was under seasoned and gloopy. I couldn’t even have a third of it. Maybe a bad batch. Will I go there again? Probably not. But I salute the idea and the friendly staff.
A. B.
Extremely delicious vegan fried seitan. A fantastic selection of food to try from, and reasonably priced too. The setian bites and seitan burger are absolute winners and I can't wait to order them again!
Minimal seating outside, but seats usually free up regularly. A great selection of sauces to sample too.
Just like a fried chicken shop, except a whole lot more ethical.
M.
Amazing place, I always drop by on my way through hackney central, the quality of service is fabulous (always have a laugh with the staff), the food is great - only once disappointed myself by not getting enough ketchup, absolutely zero complaints on quality or quantity from this vegan fast food joint. Would and have recommended to many friends in and out of the area.
O. G.
Believe the hype! Delicious deep fried 'chicken' 2 piece with fries, complimentary vegan mayo & amazing mac & cheese topped with 'bacon' bits. The interior is very minimal & only outside seating but more than worthwhile to lean against the counter for the two minutes it'll take you to inhale this amazing vegan food. I'll be back!
D.
The best naughty vegan food you'll find. Love this place. Can't stop eating here! Also in a cool area next to the canal the delights of the newly renovated Kings Cross.

Had the temple burger which was real good. Temple fries were fantastic. The salted caked was also pretty good. The Mac n cheese was probs the best part I tried 🤣 I’ll def be back for that when I’m in hackney again

Great food, a bit of a trek to find as it's in the middle of nowhere but well worth it if your vegan/vegetarian.

A good fix of vegan fast food. Staff are ace, I day dream they buy the butcher's space next door and create more seating I'd love to sit and enjoy and digest it with some time. Water jugs full up would be a bonus. Hats of animal friends. Peace.

Very good food, lovely staff especially the French girl and the woman working with her(shaved hair onsides) . I think sweet potato fries should be on the menu. Not too sure about the upside crosses as wall paper. I'd recommend having a trip down to morning lane and having a bite to eat from this eatery.

Amazing experience! The members of staff were super nice and thoughtful, highly professional and chill. The food and beverages were
delicious and exceeded expectations. …

Yassss, so much yassss. Burgers are quite sloppy, so be prepared to be wiping sauce off your chin! It's worth it though, burgers and wings are absolutely great. Chips were a bit soggy on one visit, but crispy and tasty the other times I've been. Only real complaints are that the seating out front is a bit exposed and limited, and that the drinks on sale are absolutely tiny (but, given free with some orders, so that more than makes up for it tbh).

Delicious vegan fastfood. 😋

The 'fried chicken' itself is pretty good - nice batter, if a bit bland. The main issue is the execution; portion sizes are way too big (yes, having so much that it goes to waste is a bad thing) and the construction of the burgers/subs incorporates rookie mistakes. Sogginess due to salad not being rinsed, far too much mayo, over salting, buns being school fete quality. Bit overpriced too. There's definitely potential here though, but don't believe the mad hype.

God damn this is the best vegan food I think I have ever had. Good prices and selection of drinks too. Only a little outside seating here but if you want to eat indoors you can go to the Camden restaurant instead. Expect to pay £5 - £10 per person.
