Reviews of The Folly

Nice food here. The interior design is great. Clean toilets. Staff and Bouncers are polite.
One nitpick is although the staff are polite one of them had an issue with bringing your drink to the bar when making an order. I don't know what that person was thinking but leaving your drink unattended could be a risk what if you get spiked for example.

Couldn't have asked for a better experience and service from the team at the Folly, we hosted our first community event for 2022 here and it was effortless to organise with the great help from the team. The area they gave us was ideal and the service was great all night. Great location, beautiful venue and great vibe whether looking for an event space or just a meal with friends or family. Will be back again!

Very nice veggie brunch and veggie burger except for the baked beans that lower the quality of the whole meal. The juices could be fresh instead of carton’s kind.

Absolutely fantastic time, kicking off the evening, celebrating a special birthday. Food, cocktails, the venue and the staff were amazing. We had, "Richy," (that's not his name because unfortunately I had forgotten, by early hours on Sunday morning). A south Asian guy, who was very attentive and proficient. We were greeted at the door by the front of house team and we were allocated to our table. I wasn't keen on our first table because it wasn't what I had requested. The hostess was prompt to move us, without any fuss and accommodate, what I had written on the booking form. She apologised as she did not read the notes. Perfect table location- left corner of the main entrance, with its own coat stand. A minor detail as from there on, the whole evening was successful. Fast efficient service for the food and drinks, ordered. Absolutely love their French martini's as the mixologist nailed it. The steaks that the girls ordered, was a bit on the small side! Quote: "Where's the other half!" Lol My Baby Clam Vongole, was very tasty and I like extra chilie flakes in my dish. I love the open plan kitchen, as I like to have a peak at the restaurants, standards and procedures. On a busy night, The Folly team, were composed and professional. The venue was clean and the decor is appealing to the eye with the correct balance of ambiance, lighting and botanical greenery. It's a lively, classy place and not pretentious, as we can't do, "boring," on a birthday. If you're after soft, conversational time, this isn't the establishment for you, on a Saturday night sitting. The ladies rest room is another part to visit as it's on par with a 4 + star, hotel lavatories. We would definitely be using this venue again and we'll also be sampling the restaurant, during their lunchtime service. I would recommend, business lunches to congragate here, as well as casual dining, included on a day out. The prices are correct, for this quality establishment. If we didn't have other, after dinner plans, we would of stayed longer. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I actually prefer this venue, over The Refinery at Regent's Place which is one of Drake and Morgan restaurant's. Five stars all the way! 👌🏼

Good City atmosphere and kind staff.
Coming from Brick Lane in the early evening (it is a short walk) you can swap to more conventional dressing fashion among the clients. The terrace is quite well located with partial views to “The Monument”, dedicated to the victims of the fire that ravaged London sometime ago.
We ordered on line, scanning the code on the table, and were served quite fast.
Alcohol free beer available.

Interesting bar and restaurant which appears to cater for City folk.
It is a large establishment spread over two floors with several long bars.
The staff were friendly and efficient however I imagine it can be very busy due too its popularity and the large number of patrons.
Lots of tables are available. too.
Great place to meet friends and colleagues after work.

It was my first time at the Folly today and I really liked it. Had a few drinks in the bar downstairs. Cocktails and the garden platter were really good. DJ came on a little early so was hard to hear ourselves talking but it had a good atmosphere going on for those that wanted to drink mingle and dance. Music was good and varied though. Something for everyone really. The downside was the toilets, although they were quite nice... I walked into 3 to 4 cubicles before I found a decent one. I think the flushes were not working very well, and there were one or two toilet seats out of place. As I was leaving I saw there was a woman standing near the stools just before the exit who I think may have been the toilet attendant, but she didn't make eye contact. The female barwoman that served me a few times was brilliant. She made the cocktails really well and quick during a busy time . The only thing I found was I didn't enjoy the queuing for drinks again! While queuing I saw that others were getting in front of me as if I wasn't there waiting. So rude, but nothing to do with the bar or staff if customers have no manners. I would like to return for a meal and a proper night out and experience The Folly again.

My and my wife were looking for a last minute restaurant to enjoy our diner anniversary.
Despite the fact that they were fully booked, we decided to try our luck somewhere else.
A nice gentleman called Alex, wearing a black hat has send us to the bar to have a drink, not longer after, we have been offered a table and 2 glasses of bubbles to start with.My wife couldn’t be more
happy that he helped us enjoying our 25th anniversary.
We very much thank you Alex for taking good care of us. We will be back soon.
Totally recommend this venue
M. P.
Beautifully decorated: it's like walking into a dreamy garden. It's also fully accessible and offers all the must-haves if you visit with a baby.

Went for an after work meal on a Thursday. The DJ in their is great, a mix of popular new and old school songs. If you can book a table it's great to share some nice platters or get your own main meals. The staff were extremely attentive and very lovely. They brought me the wrong kind of chips but quickly rectified it. The platters were nice, although not the biggest. The security outside was the only downside, you have to queue outside regardless of if you have a booking, have a booking with a set menu (some people outside said their food was already served) or if you're just walking in for a drink. Which I think is a useless system as my team were waiting on the table for me for a while. The security guards were also willing to get into arguments when people who were rightfully annoyed that they had to wait outside even if they had a booking.
V.
Burger was ok-ish and took some time for the drinks to get here but overall a really nice place. Went here for drag brunch which was amazing with great performances. If we would have known of the service tip afterwards and the waiting time of over 40 min upon arrival before you get your first drink, it could have been 5 stars. The 4 were mostly earned for the entertainment even though the staff was constantly super busy it felt it was really chaotic in the beginning.
S. A.
Great service , very friendly servers , the food was good too , lots o beers and wind operations.
D. C.
Loved it! Spent a few hours working here last week. Dog friendly and the team was super attentive. Looking forward to returning this Saturday for dinner!

I hadn’t been to the Folly since before the lockdown but the decor and atmosphere was exactly the same.
Interior is lovely with a floral theme.
Our waiter was very friendly and looked after us well.
The food was really good! The 2 of us shared these starters as our meal:
- Sourdough bread with butter and olive oil/balsamic dip £3.95
- Salt & Szechuan pepper squid £7.25
- Aubergine and mozzarella arancini £6.50
- Feta & quinoa tabbouleh £6.95
- Smoked haddock croquettes £6.95
- Chips £3.50
Everything was really delicious, especially the squid and feta salad.
The best thing for me was they served my favourite draught beer, Asahi but they have a great selection of drinks in general.
My only constructive feedback is that since lockdown is over, they’ve really packed in the tables again. We were seated in a row of tables for 2 but they could have done with removing 1 and spacing out the tables more. We were very close to the people either side of us.
Will definitely return!
R. T.
Went here for a late lunch on a Sunday. I wouldn't describe the Sunday menu as modern European, more of an English pub menu. But the food was good.
The ground floor was only half full because of staffing limitations, but they packed everyone into one area rather than spreading people out, maybe not the best thing to do in current circumstances.

Having had a memorable wedding party at The Folly few years ago, we pre-arranged with The Folly team a small family birthday party evening drinks and three course meal. Due to dietary requirements, a few guest's options were restrictive so ordered from a-la-carte. On the Saturday evening, the team were able to store our large delicate birthday cake in their fridge. As guests arrived, The Folly team were warm and friendly from the start, bringing guests to our long well presented clean table. We tried cocktails from a small new experimental set and recommended mocktail versions to some of our guests. The starters, main and desserts were all served pleasantly in timely order. For a Saturday evening we were not rushed at all. Apart from excessive oil from the battered fish and chips meals, all other items were received well and enjoyed. The restaurant is a charmingly decorated space over two floors. We all enjoyed a successful birthday party meal experience with thanks and credit to the team on the evening as well as booking team members. We look forward to enjoying other menu items, drinks and the experience again.
M. B.
Great place, been a couple of times. On my last visit didn't need to make a booking and just walked in (on a Tuesday). Food was great, and so were the drinks.
O. O.
A very beautiful restaurant, wonderful ambience. I enjoyed my buttermilk chicken burger and my Aperol Spiritz. The pork ribs are honestly the best I ever had. My friend didn’t enjoy his poached salmon though.
I can’t remember the name of the lady who served us, but she was very friendly and lively.
J. C.
Nice and cool place, spacious - good for parties. Dress code was smart casual the last time I went. There is a fair amount of cocktails.
H. B.
Lovely meal to celebrate my 60th birthday good value for money.
Reasonably priced for Central London, bottle of wine £22.00, cheaper than some pubs and restaurants in Oxford.
H. M.
Always love The Folly and so does my dog Drake... Alessia always looks after us there and it's highly recommended...
A. T.
Thank you Alex for your assistance finding a lovely table in a « more quiet » area of the restaurant for us Witt hour a booking. The experience has been great!
A. F.
Not bad place, food was ok although the peppercorn sauce was cold and obviously heated up via a microwave. By the time I got a new one I'd finished. Staff were great but it's simply ok nothing special but not bad
M. A.
Nice venue, good food and service was prompt. It was very busy and loud. I had called in advance to request a quiet table as it was a business lunch, I had also noted it on the online request. We were given a table and told it was the quietest they had but it clearly wasn't, not least because it was in the middle of the room. Had we been given a table towards the edge of the room it would have made a big difference, were it not for this I would have given a higher rating.
F. B.
I've randomly found this place but from the outside I have found peculiar all the flowers that they had inside so I have decide to give it a try. The environment it's very welcoming and cozy. This place has style and it make you feel to be in a garden, surrounded by trees and music. Really nice. I have order a full work breakfast and cappuccino and it was average good but combined to the environment it makes the whole experience very pleasing. I would recommend to breakfast on Saturday or maybe for a drink after work
J. G. R.
A very beautiful venue, the interiors are so cosy and comforting it was a lovely place to sit. They were very accommodating as I am vegan and ensured I could still enjoy my brunch. The food was good nothing extra special, but it was greatly enjoyed and well worth it.
G. T.
Great for after work drinks or lunch .. does get very busy on a Friday night so the wait at bar for drinks can take time. So best to book an table in advance if possible. The Food is really good. I really enjoyed the burger and chips.
And I often have breakfast/ brunch here to which is really nice😋
P. H.
Really great atmosphere. The food was delicious and the service was great. Definitely somewhere to return to and try the rest of the menu
S. C.
This is a vibrant bar that also serves food including proper main courses. Pretty standard bar menu but very tasty. Drinks are good and service is quick. The decor is very botanical with neutrals tones. Very comfortable and lots of spaces between tables so you don't have to spend your night listening to someone else's conversation! Great for meeting friends after work
J. S.
We celebrated my daughter's birthday here and Sinead made it super special. Thank you so much. She was friendly, helpful and professional. Venue was lovely, especially the decor.
W. A.
The ambience of this place is great, but was let down by the miserable, sour faced bar staff. Lovely dinner with friends, initially sat by the front door, letting the cold air from outside to breeze over our backs. We didn't fancy eating dinner with our coats on, so we were able to move tables. Waiter was friendly, but the lad that delivered the food to our table was also miserable. Would vist again though.
D. F.
Went on a whim one early evening with some friends. Was shown to the bar downstairs and ended up staying until closing. Probably one of the best nights I've had in the last few years. Staff, great. Service, great. DJ, 100 % on point. Will definitely return when I can gather a group again
A. W.
Very nice bar close to London Bridge classy decor just right after a day in the city excellent cocktails great for meeting up with colleagues and friends and well located too
T.
Great venue. Nice and spacious, dining area relaxed and informal. There are lunch hall type seating spaces, high table seats and table and chairs throughout.
The bar area is spacious.
It is very nicely decorated, cool airy florist theme with wisteria flowers adorning the windows and greenery in the surrounding areas. I do believe these are faux decorations.
The venue is well staffed, they are friendly and approachable.
I had a lunch time visit with colleagues. We were impressed by the super quick service and delivery of order to table. Food was ok, not spectacular, would definitely go back for lunch. The meals and drinks are reasonably priced.
Probably visit after work. Would definitely recommend.
If you found this review helpful, I would greatly appreciate a thumbs up. Thank you. 😊

Stunning atmosphere, visited the bottomless drag brunch. Very talented, entertaining queens. Staff is very friendly and attentive, great drinks. Food choice was unexpected for brunch but still ok
M. L.
First time here wasn’t a great experience. But tonight it was … the restaurant surpassed itself. the arancina starter was so tasty and daughters Octopus was cooked perfectly. Her wagu beef burger was amazing. Cutting into her burger the cheese oozed onto her plate. Delicious. my curry was really lovely. Served with a naan. Attentive effervescent staff. Drinks arrived quickly. Staff checked in on us unobtrusively. A lovely night. Thank you.
P. C.
I only write reviews when I've truly enjoyed an experience.
Wow, What a place! We booked the drag bottomless brunch for my friends birthday and it didn't disappoint! The atmosphere was electric, the staff were very friendly, attentive and kept the cocktails flowing. The show was incredible! They gave an outstanding performance whilst having fun with the crowd. The time flew by and we were left wanting more. The place itself is beautifully decorated and feels like you're in a bubble of fun whilst the bustling London streets continue from the big glass windows of The Folly. The food came out after 15 minutes of arriving which I imagined is to get people to eat before the show starts. The food was ok, I had eggs Florentine but if you prefer you can also order from the menu too.
I had seen a few reviews of people complaining about having to pay a 12.5% service charge after purchasing tickets but to be honest this is very standard in bars and restaurants and was not an issue for us at all. The staff worked really hard to make everyones Sunday a funday and deserve this. A must visit for a Sunday of fun! I will be returning.
D. P.
Great atmosphere and nice cocktail selection. Food was yummy. Service was good but obviously they were quite busy and so it took a while for things to happen - the drinks and the bill for example.
A. G.
Me and my family enjoyed a lovely meal and drinks at The Folly. It was quite pricey but then to be expected in London. My only negative was as there were 5 of us, we were seated on what I would describe as a picnic type table and bench. After 1.5hours of having a meal, me and my husband found this seating very uncomfortable, from not having a back rest. This was the only thing that would prevent me returning, as I feel I paid far too much money to be sat at a picnic table! However the food was good, staff friendly and there was a good atmosphere although the music was quite loud to try and talk above it.
L. V.
The Folly is a very versatile place: great for breakfast and lunch and very lively in the evenings for drinks. Because of its location in the Square Mile, The Folly is a great location for working breakfast with a good range of choices and good prices.
R. U.
Food was amazing. Love the atmosphere. The vibe was great and staff were so helpful and friendly
K. M.
Good lunch with colleagues. Nice looking restaurant and decent food. Only thing I didn't like was dining at the long table as you couldn't rest your back while sitting.
M. R.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Food was good, if not a little confused. Ideal for meeting up with a group of friends/ work colleagues
A. S.
Thank you so much The Folly for taking good care of us and the 60 wonderful single people we brought along for a our valentines soirée.
Everyone had a wonderful time. The atmosphere, the drinks the food were all perfect for our little event and we were well looked after by the staff.
Even the crowd there were super friendly!
My one thing to mention on the side note, the Party TuNo didn't come with anything to eat it with.
The Lollipop Shrimp and Pizzettes were delish!!
If you're choosing this as a venue for you and your friends, I would highly recommend!
p. m.
Great food and very friendly waiter. The woman at the reception not that much. But the rest is great. I had the goose and it was really good
M. B.
Went for drinks with my cousin nice place after a certain time the dance floor downstairs opened up played good r n b music if you are trying to just have a chat upstairs the music can drown you out a little bit
Bit 2x double gin tonic £24 OK for where its based in London.
I liked it you can make a whole night of it ended having something to eat food was good. Would go again.
A. J.
Beautiful everywhere even the toilet. very nice drink and reasonable price. Staffs are really friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back there when I go to visit London next time.
J. M.
The Folly is such a lovely venue - beautifully done and glamorous. The staff were all lovely, the food was delicious, the cocktails were great and it was good value. The only issue for my friend and I was how crowded it was inside. We thought that it would be quieter on a Wednesday at 7:30, but nope! The tables were all close together (to the point where the girl on the next table kept flipping her hair and hitting my friend with it) and almost every table was full when we got there. I know that social distancing has ended and that masks are now optional, but it genuinely made us feel a little anxious given that Covid is still spreading. I think it may be a while before I'm back, but I definitely would be back at some point.
M. M.
DJ Music was good, Drinks were ok, not much space for dancing but nice hangout place with 2 levels.
K. S. A.
Love the ambiance, drinks and food! A perfect place for our girls' day's out! 🥰
A. B.
4 stars is an honest review. Some of the food is good, some of it is just for when you are hungry and don't have where to eat. Not a large variety of drinks but the ones that are served are ok. Too crowded though. More space for 2 person tables would be great.
T. G.
The place is wonderful and the staff is amazing. The only problem is that the food does not accompany the place. The burger bun is freshly defrosted and turned to crumbs, meat was burned and dry, the frozen potatoes are horrible, the place deserves some handy fries. The dessert was very stale. In short, the incredible place and staff but they should invest in quality of food
V. R.
Amazing place! One of the best bars for great ambiance and drinks. I went with some friends on a nice evening for some drinks, was greeted by 2 gentlemen at the door, Ivan and David, who were very polite to us. Then we went down and was extremely happy about the ambiance and the decor of the place. We had a some refreshing cocktails and Cindy was attentive the whole night and we had a very pleasant evening!
C. P.
Lovely to visit again. Really warm welcome from hosts, attentive service, fast and friendly. Lovely food and wine. Can't wait to go back!
G. B.
We LOVED the Folly - service started a tad slow, but our evening was absolutely made by Riku the barman San Tiago ! Riku and ST thank you for your exceptional service, your smiles and your energy!
V. C.
Great atmosphere, lively and the cocktails are excellent.
Special mention to Cindy, David, and Ivan for their high professionalism and kindness.
U. T.
Excellent customer service, we called to book in for the same day and were delighted to get a table. Food was good too and decor is lovely.
M. L.
The staff are really friendly and the food is good. The interior though is what makes this place stand out. The Bathroom is amazing with motivatiomal quotes on the mirror which I love. It's vibrant atmosphere and quirky decor makes this a great place to be.
E. G.
Classy and beautiful place! Food was good and loads of choices. Only thing I could fault after food we were not offered a dessert so we had to ask for the menu. But apart from that they allowed us to stay longer and enjoy a bit more time with friends! Very welcoming
v. T.
Went for a leaving drink of my colleague yesterday, very nice venue. A minute from monument station, nice bar with 2 floors. Vibrant and lovely place, they do serve food on the first floor. Music was a bit old school before 8pm. Thank God the DJ change to some pop nice music to dance with. Definitely worth going.
C.
Came here for just drinks. Lively atmosphere with 20's pop music. It becomes a dance floor around 10pm where everyone stands up and dances with pop music.Variety of cocktails were available here. Only bar service is available so need to wait a bit to be served when busy.
L. N.
This is a nice restaurant/bar in the city with good food and delicious cocktails. It has a great atmosphere, tastefully decorated and ideal for group bookings for a night out. It does get very busy during lunchtimes and evening and the food service can be a bit of a wait during these times. Nearest station is Monument, but London Bridge, Bank and Fenchurch St are all within walking distance.
M. C. D.
A vibrant place, full of colors. The plant theme is quite mesmerizing (each corner has its own details and things to discover). The food was also good.
A. A.
Good food, snacks and olives. Perfectly nice drinks. Deafening music. Your typical City meat mart. Avoid if you want to talk to the people you are meeting.
O. J.
I do really like the Folly it is very handily situated for Monument tube station and anything either side of London Bridge. It does really good food and has a ground floor and basement floor. We were in there last bank holiday about four in the afternoon and we're met by a nice guy on the door who basically said sit anywhere you like so we ended up on the middle stage/ platform ground floor. No reserved sign on it otherwise we wouldn't have sat down. So we were looking at the menu etc when a woman staff member came up and asked if we had a reservation etc of course we didn't not had anyone asked. I'm afraid the manner of the request was let's say way over the top that would sum it up in a fair way. Having been moved up to near the door area we didn't bother to stay and left. This isn't a bad review of the Folly on fact I'd recommend it but maybe people could be a little more understanding of a seating mistake.
C. G.
Fantastic atmosphere and great to see the business bouncing back from the pandemic. Excellent service and friendly staff.
p. l.
Busy, great atmosphere, roomy, well run and good fun. Great place and great crowd.
W. S.
Went here recently with a friend for dinner, could only say it was fantastic! Perfect for both food and drinks! Had the sticky beef ribs which were absolutely divine! A major thank you to our host Lucy who recommended the dish and looked after us! You cheered us up after a particularly disappointing day! Would definitely recommend :)
C. B.
Food was great , but unfortunately the front staff they me pay upfront witch I noticed no one else did , so felt uncomfortable didn’t want to stay for drinks after. Also 12.5% service charge already added to bill before we even started eating
D. J. M. L.
Lovely and spacious restaurant and cafe. Great for groups, very well decorated with plants. The veggie full breakfast was ok and the latte was really good
C. C.
Great to bring friends visiting for a bite or brunch! Amazing setting, love the food and they have the loveliest restrooms. If you like this kind of place, go to the main website Drake and Morgan, they have lot of similarly amazing places to eat!
J. T.
Lovely place for a meal, can recommend, unfortunately the time I was there one of the beers had a bad smell. To give them credit they rectified by replacing with bottled beer.
V. L. T.
It wasn't too bad, but it was impossible in the restaurant section to have a proper meal with friends, as the music was playing too loud. I didn't hear my friend 2 feet away. Also the draft was a bit too expensive.
L. F.
I really loved the food and atmosphere here, althought the music was abit loud for dining, and the service could have been a bit faster as we waited a while to be served.
G. M.
Enjoyable, great location with loads of standing and seating upstairs and downstairs. All the usual city drink and food choices.
R. M.
Beautiful and pleasant place to eat in however the food quality was very poor.
L. W.
Went for lunch for my mum's birthday. Lovely decorations and great food. Had a couple of cocktails which was also great. Service was good.
X. L.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the food was a great pleasure. My friend and I went for a drink and got the tomato salad, mezze board, and flat bread, all of them where very tasty and beautifully plated.
The ambience was nice until later around 9pm and started getting quite loud. The waiter also didn't seem to have a very clear idea on what to recommend as we were looking for fruity drinks from the cocktail menu, but we enjoyed the drinks we ordered anyway. Overall, a good experience!
j. z.
Fantastic place, great food, excellent service. Loved the atmosphere and the comfy couches.
My leaving party was the best.
T. A.
Too over crowded. Drinks are great. Food sounds good on paper but taste not. Over compensate on the amount but not on the way it taste
G. R.
Large busy reasturant. Staff managed a great Christmas Party for 30 of us. Food was very good and drinks well served.
K. D. V.
Absolutely gorgeous place! Super clean with friendly staff....
C. S.
Fantastic food and very nice staff
C. G.
The foods were okay but the service was a bit funny 😃
We tried to order desserts around 20:10 but the waitress said that they're not serving any desserts because no chefs left in the kitchen 🤦🏼♂️
R. I.
Decent London bar. Gets really busy and can be a chore getting served and on busy nights you are squeezed in like tinned sardines so avoid if your sensitive on social distancing, or atleast avoid downstairs (which is where the toilet is)
S. H.
Went there for a late morning snack at 11:30 on a Saturday. While the place is certainly "instagrammable", the service was disappointing. Our order was delivered wrong twice and one drink just never turned up.
All in all it took over an hour to get three soft drinks (out of the four ordered) and three small dishes.
R. V.
Fab place for brunch or just a drink.
Very close to Bank of England so lots of business people meeting there.
Plenty of sitting area in different levels and if you want something more secluded go downstairs.
Food delicious and best Orange Florida in town.
T.
Food is okay but wasn’t really impressed. Drinks are very nice though and the vibe too.

Beautiful environment and atmosphere. The drink choices and food options were good. Plenty for vegetarian. Flowers everywhere.
L. C.
Went to the Drag West End Brunch Sunday afternoon. It was brilliant, very entertaining. The venue was nice, plenty of natural light, very Covid safe. The brunch is unlimited cocktails and food all bought to your table. Fabulous afternoon and would recommend it.
L. F. (.
The Folly was amazing. Great experience. Wonderful staff
S. W.
Beautiful ambience, friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff, delicious drinks, great food with a decent variety and plenty of vegetarian options, and fair prices.
E. T.
Rinqu provided great service! Very attentive, the drinks and food were fab 😊
K. B.
Very nice place. Tasty, has its own atmosphere. Had no wish to leave) will visit this place for sure)
B. B.
Bobbi is an amazing host! He's looked after us with much care and takes into account d we were slightly waved!
U. B.
very nice place for Sunday brunch. I never went during weekdays so I cannot comment there, but during weekend is very quiet and with nice atmosphere.
the staff is polite and children friendly and the food is all very healthy and tasty. portions are very generous as well, which is rare on this kind of place. is not exactly cheap but price are reasonable.
D. B.
Awesome place.
Firstly food was fab.
Prices are very reasonable especially for the area.
Staff are very nice and accommodating.
Decor is really cool. Restaurant downstairs, bar and restaurant upstairs and a mini cafe on a slightly higher level. Lots of wood and sheep skins (when asking the manager confirmed them to all be fake, which was a plus for me) which is a nice touch.
Overall with my experience I cannot fault this place.
J. P.
Great atmosphere. The calamari starters were amazing but the lamb rump was under par... served very rare when I asked for medium and in a tasteless broth. Veggies were also undercooked. Solid 4/5
D. P. T.
Great ambience, lovely place the calamari was extremely salty ( it was the salt & pepper one ) we just weren't expecting a high salt amount. Most our mains were also unfortunately high in salt my wagyu burger and friends chicken burger i think it was.
Everything else was great and enjoyed my time there but felt i had to eat because i was hungry and not because the meal was fantastic unfortunate but would go again to try something else..
J. S.
Very nice wine, great vibe
P. H.
My friend and I had an amazing time at the West End drag brunch - top quality entertainment from the drag queens and everyone was up on their feet dancing by the end! The Folly is a lovely venue and the bottomless brunch is excellent - it's big bang for your buck! A big shout out to Sinead and Sindi who were super friendly and kept the drinks flowing all afternoon - at one point my cocktails were quadruple parked!
M.
Very nice place. Met up with some friends, went during the week and it was quite busy as the evening wore on.
Veggie burger was lovely. Would recommend
R.
Lovely food and fantastic service! Very nice and cozy restaurant. :)
a. m.
We rented the downstairs and had a private party.
We had an incredible time and the staff were amazing.
Special shout to star, she looked after us and kept the glasses full and event in full swing.
A. H.
Great breakfast. Fantastic staff. Loved the scrambled eggs and salmon.
k. V.
Very average food. Nice location and attractive enough for lost tourist to get attracted inside. Not bad but don't expect great food.
C. B.
Lovely atmosphere, somewhere quite relaxed, very nice staff. I'm constantly on the look out for a sensible sized salad and this is the place, although the pac choy in the duck salad was a bit stringy! Great for dinner with my best girlfriend, we didn't feel rushed. Promotional mini cocktails were lovely and they made an alcohol free one especially for my friend, because she's pregnant! Would definitely visit again.
I. A.
Great staff very welcoming. Amazing vibrant décor. Great carried menu for food and drinks. Family friendly but gets very busy towards the evening. Definitely coming back
T. S.
Absolutely brilliant!! My cousin booked this for my sisters pre bday dinner and it was actually so lovely! The ambiance was chic and young so fitting for a 21st birthday dinner. The staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble. They were so friendly, warm and attentive and sang happy birthday to the birthday girl. There was a great selection on the menu, great variety and food was brilliant. Had a motijito which wasnt great too much ice but thats my only critisism. Service was great and food came out so quick. One of my sisters has a nut allergy and our waitress and one of the managers was so attentive even to the point where the chef even kindly offered to prepare something that wasnt on the menu. We would definatley return. Oh and the decor... amazing!! So fitting for the location! A deffo visit! :)
H. A.
Nice atmosphere a d decoration, friendly staff, variety of items, but small food portions
M. A.
Beautiful restaurant and reasonable prices. The food was imaginative and delicious. The chicken on waffle was amazing!
H. S.
Great place for someone who likes good drinks and music. Helpful staff and great follow up on reservations.
J. D.
It's OK. There's not much more to say really. Service as friendly but the food was not something I would go back for. I may revisit to see what downstairs has to offer though as on the mile trek to the toilet I has to pass a really nice looking seating area
F. G. U.
Food is not very good. I had the impression that most things are pre done and just combined.
Music is too loud for a restaurant.
The place is nice for having drinks, however, I couldn't find tap beer in the menu.
I'll come back for drinks, not for food.
J. S.
Massive cafe-bar-restaurant all in an open space, in two levels opposite to Monument station. Very popular after work during the week due to the location in the city. I visited on a Sunday and it was quite busy. I like the idea of different spaces for a drink or to eat. They even have an small area for a group party or birthday.
R.
Great atmosphere, great food and great service. We had a booking for 15 which can understandably be difficult for any restaurant but The Folly was excellent. Only gripe is that we ordered a few days in advance but the food was still an hour late.
S. S.
Super friendly stuffs and great environment.
Food is good too😌😌🤍
M. J.
Cute setting for IG pics but upholstered seats at front desperately need cleaning or replacing! Very dirty :(. Lots of bach parties happening here.
Fish and chips were good (but we haven't tried many others). Food overall is so-so (tried salmon w/ zaatar bread and halloumi sticks). Drinks are ok as well. Pricey for the low ratio of alcohol to other ingredients.l
T. D.
Went here for a dinner, it was fantastic! Perfect food, drinks, and service, Had the Tiger Prawn salad which were absolutely divine! A big thank you to our waiter Sebastian who recommended us the dishes and drinks, we'll be back soon!
A. T. (. F.
West End Drag Brunch is a MUST DO EVENT, so much fun, amazing Drag Queens, Hilarious Host, West End Singers and the most awesome DJ, worth the ticket price alone. Good & Drinks were good, staff were excellent and it felt very COVID safe. Would highly recommend!
N. P.
Sindi has an amazing personality.. She is enigmatic and brings the best out of people. She is neither pushy or coersive. She wants the best for the table that is under her occupation. She offered us good recommendations for drinks for the undecided. And was forthcoming with those that did. She was perfect for our group.
Kind regards
Nick
T. M.
We had a lovely evening! cocktails was amazing, especially the Persian spritz, the food was great and came pretty quickly, a big thanks to the team and our waiter Sebastian, he took care of us and give us a good service, we'll be back soon!!
F. B.
Great food and staff
G. K.
Nice bar with good selection of drinks and food, also do cocktails. Reasonable service but bit slow when busy. Close to the underground at Monument. Nice atmosphere with good music being played .
S. 4.
The best grilled swordfish I’ve ever eaten! Delicious food!
M. W.
I visited The Folly with a crowd of work colleagues on Friday. At first a little quiet but lots of attentive staff. Spillages and empties are out of sight and dealt with extremely quick. Great selection of drinks (some unusual options). Later in the evening The Folly had a great atmosphere with DJ. Lots of people but didn't feel crammed in. Great yet unusual decor which makes a visit well worthwhile.
J. M.
What a nice surprise this place was. very pleasant and super friendly and cheerful staff. food was of good quality and there was plenty of choice for a vegetarian meal. definitely a place to remember.
A. R.
I have been a couple of times in Folly now, and besides the fact that is a beautiful place, the drinks and food are really good what still amazes me is the people that make that place, starting from the entrance where we have the friendly and warm welcome from Ivan and David , to the great service and kindness from Cindy. there is a lot of beautiful places in London to go but when you have people like them is what makes you wanna come back.
d. b.
Visited after work on Friday for a happy hour and I thought I was at a off the hook party at midnight somewhere. It was packed and great music at 6pm. Great place to visit. I passed it probably 5 times and did not realize what's all inside until I came in.
J. O.
Me an my friends went here after sky Garden it was lovely. Inside is beautiful the food was amazing and very well priced.
A. G.
Great place in the heart of the city. Music is a little loud for easy conversation but the food and drink choice is solid and decently priced.
R. K.
Beautiful environment and food. Staff attentive and, like everywhere else in London, stringent anti covid measures.
M. B.
I went for their weekend brunch. The food was good, the place looks very Christmassy but the highlight of the visit was a very friendly and efficient service. The team had made us feel welcomed and almost “at home” straight away. A special thank you to Arvis for his great attention and overall warmth, greatly appreciated especially during this uncertain time!
C. A.
Fantastic welcoming service. Tasty food at a reasonable price.
A. I.
The service was second to none and the drinks were lush. Rinqu was fantastic- really knowledgeable and warm. 5 stars guys.
D. l.
Stunning venu, slow service drinks were awful, tasted like damp week old dish cloth, we ordered 4 different ones all smelt and tasted the same. Our waiter was very kind and agreed, he couldnt bear the smell of them , he very kindly changed them to an off the menu cocktail as felt none if them were very appealing.
And the head in the cloud- they only have half the ingreediance as the supplier no longer supplies them hence why that tasted like dulited urine.
Wont be going back here in rush.
A big thanks to our waiter tho who really tryed hard to save the night
J. B.
Lovely vibe in delightful setting...Great ambience, fantastic service and a concise menu but all our plates were excellent both in presentation as well as flavour. Mixologist here serves up a treat! Try the Briar Rose🍹. I was really impressed how the super hard-working staff were so professional and I could not fault the customer centricity. Can't wait to return! Oh have to add- its great to be able to order just a glass of any of the wines. A bonus for hobby-tasters!
A. I.
Great food, amazing interior, cozy atmosphere. Staff is ok
V. L. T.
It wasn't too bad, but it was impossible in the restaurant section to have a proper meal with friends, as the music was playing too loud. I didn't hear my friend 2 feet away. Also the draft was a bit too expensive.
S. H.
West end drag brunch was so much fun! Good service. Nice food and drinks too. Nice atmosphere
R. I.
Decent London bar. Gets really busy and can be a chore getting served and on busy nights you are squeezed in like tinned sardines so avoid if your sensitive on social distancing, or atleast avoid downstairs (which is where the toilet is)
E. O.
Nice food, friendly staff, relaxed ambience...
M. D.
Great atmosphere, plenty for all ages
k. V.
Very average food. Nice location and attractive enough for lost tourist to get attracted inside. Not bad but don't expect great food.
L. B.
The food was okay but the place is stunning.
V. S.
A nice restaurant very close to Bank which is in the city. Good food and nice atmosphere
T. V.
Pints were a bit pricey ... but great overall ambience!
K. B.
The restaurant is very lovely and the staff and atmosphere is amazing, the only issue is the food, this was out first visit, the reason we did not complain is because yesterday unfortunately a lady knocked over a candle which caused the table plant to catch fire and the alarm to go off, which made the staff all stressed, after this incident I did not want to complain about the food.
The burger bun was defrosted and not quite, the burger very drive and the chips had been reheated and were very dry and inedible, the steak was OK but again accompanying chips reheated, its a shame as the atmosphere is lovely, but I won't pay to eat there again due to the food standard.
M. C.
Went for drinks and dinner on a Thurs eve. It was my first time going but have heard great things - was not disappointed! Really great buzzing atmosphere, attentive staff, lovely decor. The prices were really reasonable (both drinks and food) and there was an unexpected large chilling/dancing area downstairs with great music, which is fantastic if you want to spend the rest of the eve there! Would recommend and definitely will be back again.
T. A.
Love the decor and you made my friend's event - Socialite Connections, & all who attended were made very welcome. I was hosting along with my friend. The music was lit
A. S.
A beautiful restaurant! We stumbled across it and are so glad we did. The food was great and our waiter was so much fun.
G. A. S.
Food selection is not that great but the staff is really friendly and the place is really romantic and nice looking. Also they said they had all day breakfast but they didn't.
G. H.
Lovely atmosphere, clean and tidy. Menu has a large selection of food and drinks which is all great quality. Staff really friendly too!

Went on a Tuesday evening.
Booking: 5⭐️ - Booked our table over the phone just an hour before we got there and it was quick and easy.
Ambiance: 5 ⭐️ - very lovely decor, chilled ambiance, perfect level of lighting, no loud music so you can talk to your friends.
Food: 3 ⭐️ - the chicken for the chicken burger was burnt on the side.
Service: 4 ⭐️ - I’d like to give them 5 stars due to attentive and friendly waiter but he got my order wrong. I ordered sweet potato fries and got served Roman fries; it wasn’t a big deal so I didn’t ask for it to be changed.
Value for price: 5⭐️ - we went there for the eat out to help out scheme so we got some discount. Nevertheless, it’s still good value for price and would still come back even without the discount.
b. a.
Good food, great music but needs air-conditioning downstairs
C. D.
Great service, good portions, lovely atmospere, definately worth a visit
A. O.
Nice place to chill and have a drink! (Not to mention the facilities work and are quite pleasant). Visit London and you'll soon understand🤭 what I'm talking about.

I've been to the Folly three times now, including one time for New Year's Eve. The Folly is a great place to go either for a shared meal with friends or a date. The place is big, really well decorated, with an upstairs and downstairs area. The downstairs area has booths on the side of the room which are higher up than the other tables.
The food there is great! Lots of nice options and deserts too are amazing. Very nice wine selection to accompany the food too.
The only letdown I've experienced there are the cocktails. I went up to order a couple of cocktails, the bartender didn't know the recipe so he was constantly asking his colleagues for help. I waited for quite a while only to be told that they didn't have the necessary ingredients, so I ordered something else. When I finally did get cocktails, they seemed quite weak and tasteless.
m. f.
Best find. Had an amazing dinner and lunch. Travelers looking for a none tourist restaurant. Great atmosphere and staff.
S. M.
At least one of my cocktails wasn't what i ordered..nice venue though..
A. C.
Lovely place for dinner, nice decor
D. B.
Having worked around the area for some time, always a perfect spot for Friday post work drinks and quick bites.
Gets pretty crowded though so best to arrive slightly earlier...
L. S.
A good place to drink as a group. Nothing that really stands out
P.
Gemma was amazing at the front door! She is an absolute treasure to your company!
S. P.
Nice place. Onlyvthing they do not understand between vegeterian and vegan.
D.
Great place for drinks after work! Had a fun night :)
M. H.
Great bar right in the centre of London town. The bar/pub is beautifully put together and the staff are lovely. Didn't eat but it looked good....
M. D.
Good food and drink. Spacious environment.
R. J.
Rinqu was so polite and wonderfully friendly. He couldn’t do enough for us and always served us with a smile. What a ledge. Thank you, Rinqu!! :)
K. W.
Great atmosphere & good service in lovely surroundings.
K. T.
The staff were fantastic, the food drinks and atmosphere were amazing. We would definitely return.
J. P.
I visited The Folly for an afternoon lunch with friends. We had such a great time, the food was amazing, and we experienced the best service from a lovely staff member called Lucy. She was attentive and so friendly, we will defo be returning. Thank you so much for a wonderful afternoon!
D. D.
Fun and lively vibe. Food is good but nothing special.
O. P.
Came in here on a very hot afternoon in June and considering it was so busy and very warm, staff were really patient with our table of 6 and super friendly. One meal came out a bit late and they were incredibly apologetic and couldn't do enough to help. The food was all absolutely fantastic, none of us could fault a thing - same goes for the cocktails! Considering the location and popularity of the place, its very reasonably priced. Visited a couple of times before and will definitely be back again!
Z. E.
I was at folly with a couple of friends for drinks and the atmosphere was great !! Drinks and services was amazing and especially Sindi who looked after us has been a star all night long!! Thank you so much for your service Sindi!!
L.
Great service, looked after us all night and very covid-safe. I saw staff stopping customers not wearing a mask when moving around throughout the night. Kept us up to date with last orders to make sure we didn't miss out. Food was great too!
B. C.
Our group to friends are lucky as every time we go to Folly it's James who looks after us and he's a great chap so we 5-star our service experience!
Food and drinks are delicious!
We usually get a carnival, vegetarian and a vegan in our usual team of suspects and all of us leave the place satisfied (and it's not because we had too much to drink)!
All round the place is well presented/ interior decor is nice, location is good, service, food and drinks excellent (at standard central London prices) and even the most fussy ones leave with nothing to complain about! I guess this speaks for itself - highly recommend!
N. S.
Nice atmosphere. Cocktail bar . A bit pricey but we are in central London
D. C.
The prices are different from the dine in than the dwon stairs at the bar
J. H.
A wonderful venue with fantastic food and drink offering. We were looked after by Lucy for our evening who was very attentive as well as recommending some amazing dishes, she really made our evening! Will definitely be going back!
M. H.
Came for a lovely lunch on Saturday and looked after by Lucy the manager - amazing service! Very attentive and just overall superb! We will definitely be back if she is there. Beautiful venue food and drinks fantastic
S. H.
Lovely interior and lots of flowers. Restaurant is divided in couple of different section so it is easy to sit even pretty big groups. That restaurant is my favourite place for morning a cup of coffee - oat flat white. Last time I've been served by lovely Charlie. He welcomed me and my friend with big smile and asked what we would like to drink. Coffee arrived really quick. Our waiter checked on us a few times if we need anything else in friendly manner. This is my favourite place in that area. Very welcoming.
C. E.
Good brunch and cocktails. Slightly expensive for what it was but its central London!
C. L.
Great place reasonably priced for London enjoyed the meal and the wine
M. A.
We had such a wonderful evening!!! Food on point and great atmosphere, ( A big thanks to Sebastien for his incredible service and food recommendations despite the crowd!)
R. F.
The Decor and size of the folly are both in its favour. It feels intimate despite being big. The bathroom is gorgeous but a but mucky, shame people can't seem to keep paper off the floor and bowls clean.
The service is a little too friendly for me but good non the less. And a service charge is part of the bill. They offer you a book to take with you, which I adored, even if the book was rather odd.
The food, well it's a bit like bills or browns, a tad expensive for what it is but nice enough to eat. You wouldn't rave about it.
If you stuck in monument it's a fair spot for dinner.
N. R.
We attended for my boyfriend’s birthday and couldn’t ask for a better night. The birthday brownie went down a treat thanks to Lucy and Cindy was so attentive all night. Thank you so much!
B. F.
The staff are so nice they're reason enough to go, very large spacious place , great atmosphere
J. M.
I come here with my nephew when he’s about in London as I only work nearby, looked after by Lucy and what a darling! So attentive - fab recommendations always, she’s looked after us a few times and never disappoints! Amazing venue, drinks and food delish will definitely be back soon - just make sure Lucy’s working 😉
R. T.
Out of stock on most beers. Slow service. Very unfortunate.
Edit: the restaurant was a completely different experience. The food was good and the waitress was friendly and welcoming.
Thank you for reaching out and the offer - the rating was given before the sat down for food. I have increased the rating and trust that the steps you say you have taken will have others continue to increase the number of stars.
P. W.
Too loud; hard to talk. Interesting decor and a nice environment otherwise. Waiter wasn’t really on the ball, and it took surprisingly long for them to work out a gluten free meal for one of our party who has an allergy. Food was lovely once it arrived.
R. H.
Perhaps a great bar but not a good choice if you just wanna have dinner with a small group of friends.
We went there on a Friday night (about 8:30pm) for food. Got seated in quickly (but you will need to wait in a long queue if you are to go there for drinks). The staff was generally friendly and the food was quite nice (though a bit pricey). The interior design was lovely (the washroom was amazing).
However, the main problem is that it simply is too noisy inside the restaurant. With the music and people shouting and yelling (plus it is really dark inside, even at the restaurant side but not at the bar), we could barely talk or enjoy our meals. We ended up rushing off our dinner to get away from the noise.
So it may be a great choice if you want to get drunk and have a crazy night out, but probably not so ideal if you want to have a nice dinner and chat with your friends.
M. B.
From the outside and window wreathes I expected more interior design splendour on the inside but I was underwhelmed. The seating next to the doors was cold and very drafty. The service wasn't great as our drinks order was wrong twice. It's a basic drinking venue, busy with a large crowd. I didn't experience the food but overall I'd rate my experience as average.
M. U.
Our experience at the Folly was great! Seamless integration of social distancing which made it more enjoyable than some other places I've visited recently. Would highly recommend. Shoutout to Star for her great service all evening!
H. C.
Nice and organised, I was able to pre order food and the staff were great! Thank you for making things effortless 💕
A. D.
City workers love to hate it, but the Folly is slowly becoming an institution. Decent food, the vibe gets all over the place in non-covid times, but I usually have a great time
M. T.
I've been to the Folly many times for after work drinks or day time get togethers. It works well in both situations and has a charm of its own that's great for this well located spot. The upper level bar area is large with plenty of tables for large or small parties, they also have a nice area that worked really well for a parents get together with young kids during the day. There's also a large downstairs bar that really helps distribute the crowd on busy nights when there's more dancing space. Drinks selection is great, prices as you would expect for the location.
D. K.
Staff amazingly accommodating. Decor fabulous and food amazing
L. U.
Been here on a Sunday lunch. Great atmosphere and nice staff. Service was fast and food tasty, fresh cooked and overall satisfying. I ordered the Sunday roast which was great value for money considering the portion of it. Even the rest of my group was happy with their food. Price in line with London diners.
Place is huge and the interior design is really great and original.
N. S.
Great place mid week for an evening drink. It does get quite busy from people in the city and noise levels can get quite high making it difficult for a quiet conversation. Having dinner can also get quite cramped with seats squished together across long benches meaning sometimes you eat your food with strangers, which I am fine with but it is not everyone's cup of tea!
s. s.
Lovely setting, decent cocktails.
S. S.
Sindi was an amazing supervisor. She made us feel very welcome. I would move to her tbf. Lovely girl. It’s enough to come back.
l.
Very helpful staff, but also very noisy. If going out for a quiet drink/dinner, this is not the place to go.
a. “. w.
Great Atmosphere visited just prior to Christmas so was very busy. Loved it will visit again
S. B.
Very nice atmosphere and food - except for my vegetarian friend!
I. B.
Used the meeting room which was good, lunch came promptly and was good. Thanks
J. T.
My friends and I had an amazing time at the Folly. The food was delicious and Lucy the restaurant manager took the time to recommend some really fantastic cocktails. 100% will definitely be dining here again.
M. P.
The setting is absolutely amazing: each corner is peculiar and cared for to the last details. As per food, I took a full English and it was very very good (a big portion too). Smoothies were good too and the brunch in general was very pleasant. They also offered a Martini coffee to the bride to be in our group, since it was a hen do. Very nice!
J. O. T. M.
Popped in here for the first time last Thursday 9th July as The Folly had only just reopened from Lockdown. I had no idea what to expect but my word, what an absolutley stunning looking place. My friend and I were greeetd warmly by the staff and shown to our table. Our chairs had big plump cusions on ( I'm a big guy so I removed my cushion) and it's clear they intend for you to dine in comfort. We were asked what we would like to drink but as the full range wasn't up and running, I had a Guinness. My friend had spritzer type drink, not sure but she seemd to enjoy it very much. We wasn't rushed to order our food so we had a drink or two first. When we was ready to order out food, we shared various starters ( The scotch egg is amazing) as well at the meat and cheese board. The food came out looking amazing and tasted every bit as good as it looked. We also wasn't asked to leave the table as soon as we had finished our food and decided to spend a considerable time there, that evening. After finishing our delicious food, we stayed on to drink Old Fashioned cocktails. The staff were so friendly and are a real credit to the place. One could argue that as it was a first night out since lockdown, it was easy to have a good time but I disagree as one could easily be just as dissapointed and expectiing too much. What we received was more than we could have hoped for. A great looking place, amazing food and drink and absolutley fantastic staff. A night out we surely won't forget.
s. d.
Good atmosphere & a good pint of Guinness who could want more.
K. R.
Our first visit to The Folly was rather successful one. We enjoyed very thoughtful design of the place which is modern and cosy at the same time. Our waiter Carol was super helpful about making right decision regarding food. He brought our food swiftly and was to our disposition at a whim. Thanks Carol for making our Sunday dinner such a joyful experience! We will definitely visit again!
K. B.
The food is absolutely delicious and they've got a wide selection of of cocktails, but the beat thing here is the environment. It's all modern and trendy, spacious, and with lots of plants. It's a very nice place to hang out. I brought my colleagues to lunch there, it worked very nice for a big group.
J. W.
Cool atmosphere but food was just ok
D. I.
great location, looking a bit dated after 10+ years but head downstairs for extra space, great for small office parties
P. B.
Really lovely venue! Great decor. Good was also good. Elisabeth was a great waitress.
They do need more light on the top floor though, couldn't see what we were eating and tealight candles are in dark glass, so not really useful.
Y. B.
Same taste much more expensive than others.
Personally me,I didn't like it.
S. I.
Great atmosphere and drinks, most of the food was amazing but the fries were a lil cardboardy
N. F.
Went for drinks and food for a work friend's birthday. Music and atmosphere are great - upstairs is the restaurant/bar and downstairs more of the bar/club with louder music. Food was about par for the course and service quite slow but all in all a very nice venue. Nice place to go with friends if you like a fancier night out.
E. O.
Nice food, friendly staff, relaxed ambience...
C. B.
Raspberry Bellini's extremely nice. Food was excellent and staff very friendly. Great atmosphere.
N. T.
Beautiful bar, huge with lots of space. The cocktails were really nice but expect London prices.
K. “.
It was decent as a place to eat. The food was below average and the service and was probably heavily affected by our large table (14 ppl), but things was constantly forgotten and the table was not cleared very quickly.
But it was rather cheap, we had a 2 predetermined menus so that might have helped. The venue was very nicely decorated but the music was far too loud to gold any conversation without sitting in each other's lap.
C. G.
Lovely venue, great atmosphere and extremely friendly staff. Had a great night and the prices of cocktails where surprisingly reasonable?
R. L.
Staff were WONDERFUL, amazing at dealing with any mistakes fab customer service and very attentive even though was clear they were very busy. Burgers were AMAZING!!! Compliments to the chef, halloumi burger so so good. Definitely returning and recommending to friends!
L. K.
Went on Saturday for brunch. Nice decor and no problems getting a table. It didn't take long to get served but after this the service became a bit lacklustre. My wife offered a coffee, we had to ask again after half an hour when it didn't arrive and then it took another 20 minutes to appear. The food was fine but even the head chef was shouting at the waiting staff for being so inattentive! The bill took ages to arrive.

Nice bar, great weekend vibes

I very nice place to have breakfast, I just had breakfast there so I wouldn't know about drinks or lunch. However I loved the design , it's very cost and clean. The staff was nice and helpful and the food was decent. This is not the best breakfast I had for example the avocado on my sandwich was too cold and tasteless but the coffee was a nice surprise. So if yo looking for a quick place for breakfast then I would definitely recommend but if you looking for something fancy or a foodie escape then you should probably look elsewhere.

Very nice restaurant, recommend to visit

Have had afternoon lunch here a couple of times. Is a cool place to have a relaxing meal and/or drinks. Service was good and nice to see the extra attention paid to our friend who follows a strict celiac diet. Also nice to get a good espresso Martini and at a reasonable price, given the extortionate amount you can pay in some bars.

This place is beautiful with a modern decor & lots of space for large groups. Also has the added bonus of sheepskin blankets if you get a bit chilly! The food is great with a fantastic selection of cocktails. It's a great night out for everyone.
J.
Great exciting faced paced after work bar/restaurant.
N. S.
We visit this restaurant regularly because it is convenient, the staff is nice and the menu has a lot of choices.

Nice place and pleasant environment. Good beers and food. Friendly services but the kitchen has been a little bit slow, perhaps because the place was really full of people. Absolutely recommend.
K. F.
Lovely venue. Loud music. Food was a bit hit and miss. Squid starter was fantastic, fish pie was ok, but sadly my brownie was dry and crumbly. Cocktails were bloody good!
D. B.
Great venue, with a very good private room at the back. Had a big family gathering, could control and turn off music, enough space for around 30 people. Afterwards, plenty of spaces around the two levels of the bar to hang around and have a drink. Waiting staff were attentive and any issues resolved quickly and to our satisfaction.

Lovely place for a spot of lunch. Very covid ready with plenty of ventilation.
k. b.
Very busy and lively mid week with professionals having drinks together. Huge place with space downstairs which does seem quieter then the top bar, although they don't always serve drinks down there meaning you have to fight for space at the bar upstairs (not sure whether table service is available making it less stressful).
Overall though very central and great vibe

Hi. Atmosphere very nice and cool. 5 star.
But food not so good 3 stars for food.
Chips very oily as well as fish. Chicken breast quite hard. Compared to other restaurants this is 3 star max. Chef needs training. Thank you
C. S.
Avoid on Saturday's night unless you like very loud music, sticky tables, crowds and slow service.
M. V.
Venue great😁disappointed skanska didn't allow sprites to be purchased.
M. D.
Fantastic bar, friendly staff and great music in the evening. ❤️

Maybe we went on a bad day, or we just ordered the wrong things - fish tacos and avocado toast with poached eggs - but the service was unbelievably slow. We went around 1pm on a Sunday. The blue corn tortilla tasted like card paper, although the filling was tasty. The toast was generously spread with avocado but the poached eggs weren't done very well: one was quite under, and the other had a solid yolk.
I really wanted to love The Folly. I've walked by it numerous times and the interior is gorgeous. One day I walked by and they have ping-pong tables up! The staff is friendly but perhaps it suffered from understaffing on the day. It wasn't especially busy, either. Maybe they think we all have all the time in the world to linger over a meal? I wish :-) But, I want to give it another try. I'm hopeful! I'm eager! I want to love this place.
A. M.
Very helpful staff. Had to pay an additional 12.5% service charge on every purchase. The food and service was good.
S. N.
Gorgeous cocktails and the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive.
K. E.
Great service and wonderful atmosphere. The food was great although I was disappointed that the chicken sandwich was probably a 1.5 ounce piece.
E. E.
Very nice and yummy food! The stuff is very friendly! In general, an amazing atmosphere in the centre of London for a good price... BUT!... I think the desserts should be improved a little... after the well presented food, the pannacota and the tatin cake were a little bit dissapointing. :)
E. S.
Great place near The Monument and is open at the weekend when most other local places are shut. It is also handy for the Sky Garden if you don't want to eat there. Friendly, helpful staff, tasty food at reasonable prices, and stylish loos!
s. r.
Very busy restaurant, our waitress although friendly didn't have the time to spend with us.
We were always having to grab her attention as she flew by.
The food was ok but not brilliant, my son's burger was burnt (we sent it back) and my curry was disappointing.
The restaurants decor was really good but they need to step up their service and food.
F. L.
Food not too bad, bit noisy. Pretty palatial. We attended a Christmas party there, did a decent selection of nibbles, set up a limited selection of drinks and a cordoned off area. Decent enough setup.
A fight broke out, someone had to be dragged away and around 7, the music in an already packed and busy bar was turned up to an obnoxious level. For what it is, it's OK, but I won't be rushing back

Fantastic venue for drinks right in the heart of the City!!
S. A.
Very glamorous place. You can go for coffee, for breakfast options, for lunch options or for dinner. The space is massive with great decoration, recently renovated actually. So a great option for booking a dinner with friends.
Giving 4 instead of 5 just cause last time I went and had the salmon it was cold and very late :( apart from that the staff is friendly and atmosphere is great too !
Z. R.
Beautiful venue, nice atmosphere. Some of the light bites were a bit hit and miss (onion rings were dripping with fat and resembled yorkshire puddings but pockets of flour still inside the batter. Sweet potato skins had a strange cold mashed sweet potato paprika side that didn't compliment at all) but the burgers were lovely!
J. D.
Went their for breakfast, was greeted with a smile and a hello. Ordered a full English breakfast and tea (tea came first) and I struggled to finish off my food. It tasted great, everything was cook properly. Great for a hangover or knowing you will be drinking excessively during the day.

I booked The Folly for work Christmas lunch, the venue was dressed beautifully and we were grated by a super friendly host promptly upon arrival.
The food was fantastic, I had a beautiful salmon starter, pork main and all was beautifully presently, hot, and delicious. They offered a Vegan menu which is very impressive, and pleased our vegan eater who usually misses out on the set meals because one course usually always contains egg. She reported that her food was beautifully cooked and seasoned really well.
I was very impressed by the number of staff working, it made the experience really smooth as we didn't have any waiting. The venue was super busy with almost every table filled.
I will certainly be returning soon. Thank you for providing such a lovely environment to dine.
V. P.
Nice venue and attentive staff working the floor when we visited on a Sunday evening. Unfortunately, the food was only mediocre. The vegan burger was dry and burnt when served, and the rump steak was tiny and accompanied by lukewarm chips.
j. H.
Came to the folly Friday evening with a group of friends on a evening out, we stopped for a quick bite to eat and a few drinks. We ended up staying all evening, The food was filling and came quickly and the atmosphere amazing specially in the downstairs bar area it was very busy though. Ticked all the boxes for a 1 stop shop for our get together and i'm sure we will be back again soon!
A. M.
OK.
Food could have been hotter, but I'm not one to complain.
Service was great and I love the ambience.
Will definitely come back again.

At brunch time I recommend the "English Breakfast". Very professional acting and friendly staff, modern interieur with British accent.
S. H.
West end drag brunch was so much fun! Good service. Nice food and drinks too. Nice atmosphere
D. H.
Great food. Staff very helpful and reasonably priced for the city
L. N.
If you don't mind standing it can be quite ok place for an afterwork drink, but don't expect to get a table unless you book, which might be agood idea as it usually gets busy. Service is unfortunately poor, staff is slow and not very good at their jobs, and quality of beer could be also improved.
Can't comment on food, but would say this place is neither suitable for a date or a quiet dinner or a business meeting. More like quick drink or casual fun evening out.
S. B.
I went there for my Christmas Lunch, the food was of high-quality. The desserts were the best. However I found the place extremely busy, the restaurant tried to fit more people than the palace could take and it resulted in us sitting with tight hands and no room to move a inch. Because of the overcrowding, it was quite noisy to the extent that you couldn't hear the person next to you without raising your voice.

Fantastic bar great atmosphere lovely food
E. B.
Very nice time at the Folly food and drinks were great! Looked after by the lovely lady in polka dots ... we think her name was Lucy. Very nice lady! Will definitely be back
A.
Great but service a bit slow. Waited 30 minutes for the drinks.
A. E.
Walking in it looked promising but soon went down hill very quickly. Waited for the hostess, she ignored me until I spoke to her. I had a table booked (originally for 8pm and I called and changed it to 7:45pm, important point). She told me to wait a minute, she walked away, then came back but walked past me and off to a far corner of the restaurant. All of a sudden I see here frantically waiving, telling me to come over. She then gave me a dark table right by the busboy door (even though there were plenty of available tables). I sit down and my friend is late. Friend finally shows up at 7:54. Waitress immediately comes over to tell me that we have to order right away as the kitchen is closing at 8pm. Well, I guess I am very lucky for having changed my booking from 8pm until 7:45pm! How would they have served us food is I had kept my original booking. We order. No drinks. I ask about our drinks, still no drinks, then our food starts showing up, still no drinks. Starters, padron peppers and Korean beef tacos, where mediocre at best. Main course was a slight improvement. If you work in the offices within 100 meter of this place then I am sure it is an ok location but it is not worth the effort otherwise.
T. S.
Italian waiter was amazing but wasn't asked to check in on the NHS app on arrival, service was a bit slow and the food was good, but not great. Love the decor though and would go back again
M. R.
A surprising but amazing experience! Recommend it i enjoyed the performance! And also good food and atmosphere
B. M.
Really great bar. Great surroundings and design. Plenty of choice of food and drink. Quick service and a good location if your touring around London. Very clean, downstairs seating area is cool during the summer. Bathrooms are very nice and clean.
G. A.
The atmosphere made me feel relaxed and the food was good. My favourite thing was my cocktail! Which I can't remember the name of... Something greenhouse... Yum.
They did bring me the wrong cocktail at first, and in the end my cocktail didn't arrive until I'd finished my meal, but that worked out OK because we had cocktails for dessert in end. And overall the mistake didn't dampen our experience.
C. W.
Drinks are delicious, i'd particularly recommend the 'Big In Japan'. However definitely quite pricey, also the music does get rather loud especially if you are downstairs, had to leave in the end as my friends and I struggled to hear each other.
J. P.
Second time here and love it. Had a hearty and authentic full English breakfast - highly recommend. It’s always great when you can tell the meat hasn’t come straight out of the freezer 👏 Definitely going back for some more breakfast meetings.
M. H.
Decent food but their service was slow and they kept forgetting parts if our order. The ceaser bloody Mary was missing the king prawn and the chips didn't come with the eggs Benedict until I pointed out it's included on the menu. Just doesn't seem to have it all together which is unfortunate. Not a bad place for a Sunday brunch but there may be better options
O. V.
Had a great work event here. We booked the private room. Belle checked in with me all night. All the drinks and food we ordered was delivered in good time. Music and venue were great.
R. S.
The location and the ambience of the restaurant was really good. We went there for a christmas dinner and had to pre order the food two weeks before but upon arrival were told that we had re-order the food anyway. On top of that not everything which i guess, is understandable cause it was Christmas time and really busy. Unfortunately, the food was really average too and did not justify the price. I definitely would not recommend getting any of the different variations of fries cause it just normal fries with barely any toppings on it.
K. G.
Great customer service, beautiful restaruant and very tasty food. Friendly staff, quick service, answered all my questions and requests before hand clearly and quickly. Would recommend and i would go again. Thank youu!
A. S.
Really nice place and well done out with decor.
The place was quite quiet when we were there as it was after lunch but we felt that the staff were not as focused as they should be.
Other than that its a great experience and really good food.
Thank you for a good afternoon

Always good friendly service at the folly!

Such a lovely experience. Very friendly, hardworking staff. The design is very beautiful and the food was delicious . We will come back for sure !
A. G.
Always a great place to go. Never disappoints.
M. D.
Great atmosphere, plenty for all ages
I. S.
Sophisticated bar with gorgeous elegant decor. Great service, amazing cocktails and food. A bit on a pricey side though. I had a passion fruit Martini which was strong and tasty. I like coming here during the week as it's a bit quieter.
C. M.
Very good breakfast in a very nice setting. Excellent espresso martinis that help you wake up. Can't beat a Tuesday working breakfast at The Folly.
The bill came in a book almost 100 years old which, I think, is pure folly.
M. A.
Food was very good and reasonably priced. The staff were very good and friendly but initially my friend had to wait 20 minutes for her drink to arrive despite reminding two people. Things definitely picked up after this and it's definitely somewhere I will be attending again.
G. S.
Decor is superb and has a nice open feeling about it whilst retaining a degree of separation with eating areas and the bar. This comes at a price though, as you're paying for this when it comes the price of the food and drink. The food is tasty but not standout, and doesn't seem commensurate with the price. It can also get very busy on the weekends, Friday evening in particular, where lots of people cram into the bar on the main floor and the lower level also.
M. N.
Stumbled across The Folly and decided to give breakfast a go. Was very happy with the quality of the food. Unfortunately I think the waiter forgot to process my drink order (I never do trust waiters who don't write down orders) so that came a few minutes after the food came.
A relatively expensive place. The decor was very nice.
M. L.
Had a wonderful fun afternoon. Great entertainment from the fabulous drag Queens & great drinks and brunch and everything so well organised. Service excellent. Will definitely be visiting again.
B. m.
I visited the place for a quick drink with my friends. Great quality products and knowledgable staff. We were also surprised with food. It was delicious and in very good price. Highly recommend.
A. C.
Mad city bar that's deceptively big. Expect a raucous business crowd any day of the week from surprisingly early. The food is decent and the set menu is reasonably priced for central London. Does a good line in cocktails.
V. R.
First time visiting recently and loved it! Lively atmosphere, range of drinks and friendly staff. One problem is that it is very hard to get served at the bar as it is so busy especially on a Friday night.
D. P.
Lovely staff great food nice atmosphere we will be returning
S. O.
Delicious food. Surprisingly good value considering the location, the quality of the food and the decor. Top marks to the staff too, the service was excellent.
C. B.
The Folly has recently been fully refurbished and is great value with lovely staff. Highly recommended, 5 adults and a child age and a few of us got beers for s very reasonable £81. Lovely vibe, big clean toilets, can't go wrong for middle of the range dining/socialising.
J. b.
Slow service but good atmosphere and nice to finally see places opening up properly again
E. T.
Absolutely huge venue, with good variety in seating for more one on one situations or larger groups. Decent price menu, and I've heard that the food is pretty good (good enough for business meetings). Reserve an area if you need it, will be bringing back larger groups for post work drinks etc
K. E.
The place is very nice, the atmosphere is awesome and bathrooms are very clean. I haven't had food there but the drinks were nice. It's just a bit hard to spot the place from the outside, there isn't a big sign or anything. other than that I really liked this place.
c. r.
Close to monument station and a short walk from London bridge station. Usually busy in the evening as it operates as both a bar and dining space. They also offer a breakfast menu with a range of options from full English to vegetarian and vegan meals. The portions are massive and we'll prepared.
B. G.
The Foot is a slightly odd place. It's huge, nicely done up with a large bar area and separate restaurant area. It's always full, and if you eat you will struggle to get a table or might end up staying a bench. The food is good and there's a strong wine and beer selection.
J. G.
With its beautiful decor and comfortable seating, The Folly is an excellent choice for drinks or a bite to eat. They have a fabulous menu providing plenty of fresh produce and a wide range of drink options, including some lovely cocktails and juices. Great service too! One of the first places that comes to mind when I have friends and family visiting London - it's definitely got a wow factor.
C. H.
Discovered this place by chance and will definitely be visiting again. Visited on a Sunday, so was fairly busy but we were still seated within 5 minutes. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced, especially for the quality of the food and location of the restaurant. The interior is also very cool and cosy.
S. B. S.
Impressed from start to finish with staff, food and drinks. Prices are fair, and the ambience, yes it has an ambience, not an atmosphere, is just perfect. I was so impressed I have booked a table in December for lunch with a client! Highly recommended and well worth a visit.
M. N.
Had an amazing time there, very large venue with a good vibe. Would visit again.
T. E. J.
After getting turned down by the ever so pretentious Forge. We headed here after a quick drink at Be@1. Well, the atmosphere was great. The venue itself is pretty big upstairs and down stairs giving you room to strut. I actually like this place and will definitely go back and try the dining experience everyone has given poor reviews. Hopefully they have improved
I. G.
Great decor and really nice atmosphere in here. Good choice of drinks.
R. H.
Hosted an event here and received excellent and friendly service from the staff. Great place.
A. B.
Really beautiful place but not many vegan options.
C. B.
Cindy was the most amazing waitress!! She made my night, thank you xx Clara
M. T.
My experience here has massively varied on the 2 times I've visited so it very much depends on what you are after. I can wholeheartedly recommend coming here for a drink. There's a really good selection of beers, the wine is fairly priced and the cocktail menu is ever changing. It's also a really cool space with lots of little nooks and crannies and it's great for people watching.
Sadly it seems to be all about style over substance when it comes to the food. While everything looked good the taste was very much lacking. I was served easily the worst chicken satay I've ever had and the fish and chips was lacking in seasoning and the batter was undercooked and very greasy.
If you can avoid eating here you'll probably enjoy your visit
M. S. l.
Nice food and Ambience. The service was quick and professional. The actual restaurant and bar was nicely decorated and cosy..we ordered 4 different dishes and all of them yummy. The squid starter was outstanding.
