Amazing vegan fish and chips! I visited yesterday after reading some great reviews online and was not disappointed. There clearly has been a lot of care and attention into developing the dishes on the vegan menu and the owner took the time to explain the process in which she had developed the fish substitute, which was fantastic! Impossible for food to be bad when so much passion goes into cooking. Thank you for a great meal and highly recommended.

I visited this chip shop a few years ago and the food was amazing. We were passing on Sunday and decided to go in and get some vegan goodies. I was so disappointed as I feel the food isn’t as nice. I got a vegan sausage and batter and chips. The chips I only ate maybe a third. Lots of the chips had black bits on them and didn’t really taste very nice, the vegan sausage in batter was very salty and unfortunately I felt ill after eating it. And was quite poorly Sunday night. Such a shame as I highly recommend this place to friends but not sure I’d attempt to eat here again. So sorry, hate leaving a bad review, but I was so poorly and felt it may have been the food.

Seriously amazing vegan menu, the best in Homerton. I tried the vegan fish for the first time last night and it didn't disappoint. Not to name and shame, but definitely much better than another local vegan fish I have tried. Will be back for more soon!

The Kingfisher really surprised me yesterday. Looked like a modest fish and chip shop - but their vegan menu is one of the best in Hackney. If you're in Homerton, seriously recommend checking it out. Potentially the first and best example I've ever had of authentic vegan British fast food. Also, the vegan fish is way better than Sutton & Sons'.

Drawn in by the interesting veggie/vegan menu and working our way through it as everything has been delicious. So, now The Kingfisher is becoming our treat at the end of a busy workweek. Revisited the vegan fish and chips takeaway last week (pictured) and am still amazed how it actually takes like fish. Last night, had the Jack-in-the-Bun for the first time and it was amazing, especially if you enjoy Mexican fare like I do. Possibly, best of all is how passionate and thoughtful the owner is about the menu and the cleverly balanced creations. Wanted to hug her last night as she described the burger components but thought best to wait until after the health pandemic ;-) Still so amazed to find a chippy that really understands what vegetarians want, especially those of us that enjoy comfort food. #shoplocal #supportsmallbusiness

Such a sensational selection of vegan food and so much thought had gone into every dish. Honestly the best I have ever seen in a chip shop. The fake fish was SOO tasty and loved all the flavs of the southern fried chickn wrap. Amazing chips too. Can’t wait to return!!!

I've tried a few of the vegan fish alternatives in London now, and this is for sure the best! Much better than the tofu and banana blossom options available elsewhere. A delicious meal served with lots of care by the incredibly passionate owner of the shop.

Amazing place. Does traditional fish & chips. But... The vegan menu is INCREDIBLE! The best variety and range of vegan options I've ever seen from burgers, 'fish', loaded chips and vegan pies. Outstanding creativity and different to the rest. The service and the staff are outstanding. Only criticism is they're closed on Sundays. But.... everyone needs a day off right? 👍 👊

The vegan menu is really amazing. Proper, hearty, traditional chippy food but without the animal products. Taste is honestly delicious, portions are very generous, price very reasonable. The first day I went to check out the vegan menu I was skeptical but I can say hands down it is the best tasting vegan menu I have tasted ever the selection is endless. Popped in by chance to find an extensive vegan menu - their vegan fish and chips is exceptional, and clearly they have worked very careful on their selection for vegans. By far the best 'fish' i've had and perfect for vegans who feel they are missing the fish and chips experience! Affordable too, and the host is very friendly. Highly recommended.

The owner of this business - bless her heart - has made a real effort to haul this traditional chippy into the 21st century with great success! The food is considered and wherever possible home made (I think it’s all home made actually) and if you want a good old fashioned fish and chips you can have this too. Lots of vegan places can’t get their chips right, this place has ‘proper’ chippy style chips and a full vegan menu that doesn’t cost the earth to boot! Enjoy!

Me and my daughter had takeaway from the vegan menu. She had sausage and chips and I had fish and chips and it was utterly delicious . The only possible negative is that the portions were very big and although i am big and greedy I couldnt finish it all but still better than a portion thats too small. Was a bit sceptical that vegan fish and chips could work but this place definitely proved me wrong . Very pleasant person serving as well. Highly recommended

The Kingfisher was already a great chip shop but it has truly taken Homerton to the next level with their new Vegan menus. We came for a meal last Thursday and my friends loved the Vegan Menu. The Chickadee burger got a rave review, another friend said this was one of the best fish and chips he has had in a long time and as for me, I am no vegan but ate from the vegan menu and I didn’t even want my wings that I love as the vegan meal I had was gorgeous, filling and satisfying. Long live the Kingfisher. If you are in Homerton come and check it out you will not be disappointed. 5 stars from us xx

Spent the day working in the sons new flat round the corner on the promise of cod, chips and mushy peas. We decided to eat in and were not disappointed. As others have said food is cooked to order and was definitely worth the 8 minute wait. Lady who served us was very friendly. Woohoo! GREAT vegan food. Emily is so passionate about her food and her cooking. We had the chickadee, kingfisher, and the corn dog. Make sure you stop for cake (all vegan and gluten free) afterwards too. We will be back to try the rest of the burgers. See you soon!

I am here from cyprus on holiday with my wife. We are both vegan and have visited many restaurants but the Kingfisher was amazing. Such a varied menu. We ate seitan kebab and magic mushroom burger, followed by dessert snd vegan icecream. Value for money and best we’ve had. Service was super. Thanks kingfisher.

The chips themselves are quite small and do not taste or look fresh. A small portion of chips costs £1.80 while a large portion costs £2.70. you have to pay 20p for a satchet of a condiment which is just greedy and too money hungry because of course your customers wont want ot eat their food dry. Customer service was quite bad. We seemed unwanted. Because our chips were wrapped up in paper we were not allowed to sit in the "restaurant side". The seats we were allowed to sit on were some crapoy window seat stools. Which is just embarrassing when you see the other costumers sitting in a nice area because they have a plate of food and not just a portion of chips. So we left with are dignity instead.
