Beautiful tea room we've come across by chance.
We didn't book so we were glad to find a place to enjoy the afternoon tea in London on the 1st of January.
We loved the entire experience.
The service was friendly and attentive, the sandwiches and cakes were delicious they have a variety of teas and there is also a champagne alternative. We loved the ambience; it was relaxing and comfortable.
Thank you so much for a great afternoon. I will definitely be returning.

Lovely afternoon tea here. Room was cosy and felt as if we were sitting in an old English country house. As the setting is very intimate (fitting only 4 tables), the atmosphere could have been improved with some relaxing background music as it was a little awkward without this. Fantastic teas - great quality and selection. Asif and the team were very welcoming. Will definitely be visiting again when I am back in London. Thank you!

Had high expectations for this restaurant considering the reviews. It is a small restaurant. The decor is classic and elegant. The service is good but too formal for the type of restaurant. The food is average. There is no doubt that the restaurant uses fresh ingredients but the taste is bland and the combination of flavours does not match. I was disappointed and could not comprehend the Michelin star.

🍽 Amazing experience, although maybe slightly behind the Port Isaac restaurant. The dining room itself is more refined and the food is still of an exceptionally high standard, but I can't help feeling the Port Isaac restaurant still takes 1st place. Either way a lovely experience, and having a menu signed by Nathan Outlaw to take home is a nice little keepsake from the evening.

Lovely setting, attentive ,but not too much, staff. Good value for money afternoon tea with very tasty treats.

We had the market tasting menu, off peak price of £60. For 5 courses and a flight of wines, which were either exceptional or an exciting new experience for the palate, £60 was brilliant value. The dishes were thoughtfully created and skillfully put together, with the polenta coated hake with roasted cauliflower and jalapeño sauce standing out for me as a perfectly balanced plate of food.
The atmosphere was fine; I find it quite hard to relax in formal settings, but the waiting staff made up for it with their welcoming and engaging attitude. All in all, a wonderful experience that I'd highly recommend.

The food was delicious. The staff were nice, but it was a bit noisy and there was an incident, resulting in a staff member shouting in Italian. That being said I would go back again.
R. S.
Fantastic place, the staff are all very friendly and attentive, and the food is out of this world.

Best dining experience in London. The place to eat. Go, order anything, you won't be disappointed! Well deserved Michelin star!

Great value considering the quality of food and services!

Fantastic food and the best service received in any restaurant. Eating here is like eating in a lovely dining room, having a delicious and beautiful dinner with friends. Wonderfully relaxed even on a Friday night. We never felt rushed. For a tasting menu the portions and amount was perfect as we were both full but not uncomfortably so. Thank you very much to the servers and the chef's. My favourite restaurant in London.

An amazing lunch with the added honor of meeting the man himself Nathan Outlaw! The service was impeccable, staff were friendly, welcoming and made us feel very special. Celebrated my husbands birthday and they took the trouble to serve him a wonderful dessert with “Happy Birthday”! The cocktails are the best I’ve ever tasted and the food surpassed all expectations. A wonderful experience in an intimate restaurant with fun st class service and first class cuisine!

We had the tasting menu with wines. Excellent value. Food was beautifully presented and was full of flavour, faultless. A little let down by service. Nearly forget one course and then one of the wines. However the staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit.

This was the first time we'd eaten at a Michelin starred restaurant and I was expecting more flavour. We both found the food too salty and I do season my food, and were not especially wowed by the flavours. Apart from how beautifully it was presented, we couldn't taste the Michelin star and that was why we'd gone. The service was amazing.
C. O.
This was my second Michelin star meal so I had rather lofty expectations. We had the set lunch on a Thursday (BYO wine) and I got the hen egg for the starter, which was delicious but not amazing. The main course was rather sizable and impressive but the dessert was quite normal too. Staff were very attentive and friendly as well. Unfortunately, I didn't quite feel like it deserves a Michelin star.
G. D.
It's probably not an exaggeration to say that this is one of the best meals that I have ever had. The service was perfect (and I mean perfect) the food was gorgeous and it was actually reasonably good value. To be fair it was the first Michelin starred restaurant I've been to but if they are all as good as this, then I will be making a habit of it!

Had the 3 course set lunch for £33:00. Sea bream was crispy and textured with light coating of very fine crumbs. Accompanying sauce and veg were outstanding. Yummy treacle pudding. Overall fantastic food and good value.
J. A.
One Michelin Star, basically only fish on the menu, we had the Tasting Menu with according wines. Was about £160 each. Very good waitresses and waiters, while we were talking business stuff, they served everything with out disturbing our talks. Great food and perfect service.
J. S.
What an amazing experience. The food, the atmosphere, the service all bear the clear hallmarks of a Michelin starred restaurant! Beautifully presented food, completely delicious from first bite to last and served with elegant flair. My new favourite!
E. K.
Went here for the bookatable offer during restaurant month and had an amazing taster menu. All the fish was so fresh and the accompanying wines were delightful. Particular highlights were the english white and the sparkling dessert red wine.
M. M.
We had their special discounted menu. The seafood was very well prepared and cooked. Lovely atmosphere. They gave us a little treat at the end of the meal to celebrate our anniversary, which was a nice touch.
R. P.
Well worth a visit with some stunning seafood combinations. Portions were good and the lunch set offered particularly good value. The ambiance is pleasant, and the staff very welcoming, and being right next door to Harrods it's conveniently located for a lazy afternoon shopping!
D. H.
I had an excellent experience at this spot. We enjoyed the first-rate atmosphere and the meals. The waiters are super friendly. I’m glad we finally decided to try this restaurant.
J. G.
Perfection on food and service, the room is small so its perfect for a romantic dinner. The atmosphere is elegant and yet relaxed, decoration refined. The wine list is short but its got the right selection. The bill is very high...
H. D.
Absolutely incredible food, excellent atmosphere and impeccable service. Definitely the best food I've eaten, the lobster risotto and duck were outstanding as well as the sevi and leti from great British menu. Wine also very good. Loved it, thank you!
J. K.
Superb seafood in beautiful setting, with superb service
A. E.
Beautiful food, the kind that makes you put your fork down and pause, to enjoy each mouthful. I feel very fortunate to have had the chance to eat Nathan's cooking, it's exquisite. (Was there for lunch)
D. C.
The food was fabulous and the waiters and waitresses couldn't do enough for you The couple at the next table were celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary and when the staff found out they really made it special for them it was lovely. We were there for lunch and had the set menu which was really good value would go back again
T. M.
Had the tasting menu. First half was exceptional. The second half still very good but not quite on the same level as the opening dishes. Room is comfortable and nice but quite bland.
a. v.
The tasting and wine pairing menu was part pf the london restaurants festival. The food was great but a couple of the wines were not good such as the italian brachetto or the welsh sparkling wine. Very poor quality
M. W.
I really enjoyed eating here
The duck starter was lovely, the beef was really well cooked and the cheese plate with the condiments was incredible!
The room we had was a really good space
Overall good, and worth going for the experience
R. X.
loved this place, good atmosphere, very professional staff. Food was great, we had grilled hake which was cooked to perfection. Also had great desserts, definitely recommend it!

This year have been lucky enough to eat at Restaurant Nathan Outlaw in Port Issac, Cornwall and this weekend Outlaw's at the Capital in London. The quality of the food in Port Issac is distinctly higher and you can understand why it has a Michelin star. However you do pay a significant premium and the quality at The Capital is excellent.
M. G.
Fantastic set lunch for just over £100 for two, in Michelin-starred restaurant. Food delicious; service spot-on - not too pushy and not too slow. Recommended.
M. L.
Good meal, didn't put the evening in the Michelin class, hard to pinpoint what was missing. It was ok but they didn't create a memorable evening. The bar before the meal was excellent.
P. K. (.
Probably the best place in London for UK fish! You have to try it! And the service top class! Will not regret! Food, atmosphere..had best experience in the restaurant where ever I been in the World
T. G.
Great food and service as you'd expect for this price point. Wasn't much atmosphere in the restaurant and while there's nothing to fault, there's other places I'd go back to ahead of here.
M. W.
The Wife and I just had lunch (again ), exemplary service , succulent food (fish soup exceptional ) , ambiance relaxing and ' bring your own wine' Thursday a bonus . Lunch in London at its best
N. H.
I went here after enjoying the port isaac restaurant so much last year. Food was lovely and staff were very welcoming but not quite the same without the Cornish view.
C. D.
Fantastic food and service. The tasting menu was superb, highlight were the fried oysters.
c. f.
Sensational and very consistent food. Service could be more polished. The restaurant is looking a little tired which is a shame!
G. S.
Fantastic meal and friendly service. Another wonderful experience. I've never been disappointed by the food.

Perfect staff. Exquisite food. Wonderful cocktails. A great evening

By far the best fish in London, the room is small and comfy, the staff are very attentive.

5 Stars services. Friendly staffs. 1 minute walk to Harrods. Great room. Couldn't ask for more.
I. W.
Good food but not outstanding. Service very good. Surroundings lacked atmosphere. Overpriced
M. O.
Great food and great service. Relaxed dining in a beautiful setting.

Great food a bit pricy but what would you expect from a Michelin stared restaurant

Decent place but way overpriced for what it is. Try the coupons which are available on occasions for set menues

(Translated) Long-established department store, a classic petit hotel near Harrods, afternoon tea in the capital hotel. The crowds of department stores and nearby cafes have been wiped out, so you can spend a relaxing time in a nice space with a small English taste. There was not too much content, and handmade sweets and modest sweetness, especially finger sandwiches were delicious and could be replaced. I think you like it, but the scones are light. The tea lineup includes a rare British-made Tregothnan, both of which were delicious. The staff is also very pleasant and good impression. It was a time of rich bliss. It is recommended!

(Translated) delicious. Restaurant complaints are always priced. If two people come and start one on the 2nd course as a starter and eat one dessert, I think I can still handle it.
Personally, I like Korean fish and sushi. Western-style fish dishes have always been dissatisfied. However, it was found that this restaurant has a rare midium and good texture.

(Translated) Whenever I'm in London after an 'Aternoon Tea', the first thing that comes to my mind is the wonderfully hidden hotel gem called 'The Capital'. I also prefer to invite visitors to London here, because you can enjoy your champagne and tea, sandwiches or the fine selection of sweet delicacies undisturbed. So far, all of my guests have been enthusiastic. Charming, intimate and stylish! 🥂

(Translated) Hello I went to this restaurant with my wife and my mother-in-law and we enjoyed it despite the very high price the service was impeccable but really too chic for us we are really not from the same world it's a shame but I didn't didn't feel comfortable and even felt out of place at all but it was still nice to feel like you were on the other side of this invisible barrier that separates the rich from the average like us
I still recommend...
