We had a really lovely afternoon tea at the Palm Court. The Christmas decorations made it even more special. We enjoyed the egg brioche, finger sandwiches, sweet bites and scones with jam and clotted cream all served with an extended selection of specialty teas. Loved the ambience!

We stay at the Ritz and have birthday dinner at the restaurant, although the food was very good and exquisite I could not say the same about the service. The Ritz takes pride at their service and I was really surprised that was not the case. Besides the kinda poor service in the dinning room we found out that our bill had few items we did not consumed. When asked they were rather rude and they said they would "investigate", no even trying to apologize or say at least polite sorry, it was in rather rude tone"misstakes happend" and "we would investigate". First one would not thing that checking your bill would be needed in a restaurant like this and second the respond was unpleasant and very unexpected at "The Ritz".

Great lunch on the Italian Terrace at the Ritz today. The food is fantastic, the service is just a bit overbearing but the peace and quiet of the terrace makes up for it. There is an assumption that everyone is going for afternoon tea and it gets irritating when 5 or 6 people ask you the same question. The welcome is not the best as it feels more like an airport security with lots of check point! Anyhow, the food was delicious and that ‘s why we went there!

We were so fortunate to have stayed at the Ritz for the weekend and enjoyed breakfast each morning in the restaurant. An excellent variety of continental options. The cooked breakfast was delightful! Went for a Saturday lunch late August and had the 7 course tasting menu. Food was great. Nice classical flavours with a light touch. Plenty of skill and variations shown throughout the courses. Service was was a bit of a mixed fare. The server was friendly, accommodating, if maybe a tad nervous. The young reception lady came across abrupt and standoffish and didn't handle the situation of my table being over ten minutes late well and left me quite annoyed. Overall I would recommend this restaurant for a special occasion.

Food and presentation was really on point. The only thing was my lobster was so tough and chewy I couldn’t swallow it. The setting is grand and beautiful, the live piano playing in the centre just makes the whole experience even more luxurious. My one complaint was that the service got sloppy towards the end and we had to keep asking for water as they kept forgetting to bring it. But other than that it was a lovely experience.

From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The menu fixe for lunch had a choice of entrees, mains and two desserts, with extra for cheese platter. From the amuse bouche to that dessert, the food was exceptional. Mocktails very tasty. One of the best places Iv ever eaten in London! Service was 10/10 from start to finish every member of staff could not be more pleasant or happy to help. The restaurant and bar was amazing. Live music while you eat that was loud enough that you could enjoy it but not overpowering. Food absolutely top class from starters - having the waiter cut and serve the beef wellington - an amazing desert. The food is unrivalled. The Ritz truly lived up to its reputation. P.s. the lady violinist that took the time to talk to my 6 year old daughter on FaceTime, and even played another song even though they had clearly finished - I will remember that for ever, thank you 🙏

The Ritz is a famous hotel that is well known for being luxurious and opulent. The restaurant itself is no different. With a stunning interior featuring a large painted ceiling, beautiful carpets and highly decorated curtains, you’ll enjoy incredible food that is as decadent as your surroundings. In true British tradition, consider afternoon tea here as well. Most notably, this restaurant makes you feel comfortable, despite its ritzy reputation. The layout is such that it feels private and you can really just relax and enjoy your food!

I enjoyed very late afternoon tea. The dress code is quite strict, if you are a gentleman, you should wear tie and jacket for gentlemen. No jean allowed. If you don't wear a shirt and tie, you can borrow them at cloak. The ambience was so fabulous and the service is sublime. The classical menu is afternoon tea set menu with tea. You may enjoy champagne set menu with top up of 19 pounds. You might start from sandwiches which are refilled as you want. Then you can enjoy scone and pastires accordingly. If you want to experience very authentic and luxurious afternoon tea, then you should visit here.

After having our booking cancelled in January due to COVID we finally returned for our well anticipated Saturday night live at the Ritz. Naturally we had high expectations and I can say they were met impeccably From the moment we entered this absolutely beautiful building we were looked after professionally and with charm and light hearted humour The dining hall truly does live up to its reputation for being both classy and opulent yet maintaining comfortable Our cuisine was quite simply exquisite , coupled with a wine list to suit any palate The live music was superb , volume and mix suited the mood and venue Professional dancers were a joy to watch We enjoyed every moment of our evening and couldn’t have been any happier Most definitely will be returning P&M

Amazing and charming interior with grand feeling. Food is very good; creative dishes, well thought off and well executed. So far we had no issues. The problem I have is with the service. For a restaurant of this caliber, service should be unparalleled. Unfortunately it is not. We were a party of four. We were well greeted and seated. When the waiter came we had questions on some of the items but he had no clue. I asked for slices of lime that didn’t arrive. During the course of dinner I had to pour the water. My guest had to pour his wine at least 3 times. We finished the first course and for almost 20 m no one came to clear the table. Recognizing how slow the service was, when they brought the main course I told the waiter that I wanted to order the dessert that takes 20 m to prepare (gatuex saint honore). He had no clue. I had to explain to him on which page of the men I saw it. Still not clue. He brought the menu so I had to show it to him. Main course finished and agin more than 20 m to clear the table. It was become late so we asked for the desserts menu and the waiter said “right away sir” after 10 m no menu was brought. We asked again and my guest was going to bring the menus himself. Apparently they have only few menus so they had to wait until other tables finished with it so they can bring them to us. It also seems that they are under staffed. There were only two waiters to serve our section which had like 12 tables. In brief, solid food damaged by one of the worst service I have ever encountered in a restaurant in London.

We'd booked the Three Course Lunch at the Ritz (as a Virgin Experience) some months ago, with the idea of making it a joint Birthday treat. Arrived as planned for our lunch at 2:15pm. Did feel rather second class, with our Virgin Experience voucher, but this soon passed when we realised that the £105 we'd paid was only £3 less than the actual cost!! Pretentious, yes, but full marks all around for the setting, the service and the food. The drinks are horrendously expensive, especially by Brummie standards;-), so stick to the sparkling water, unless you're happy to give your credit card a hammering. So typically English and so utterly wonderful. Worth every penny.

Have been here many times and finally got round to a review. Staff / Service = Superb Ambience / Decor = It doesn’t get much better Food / Quality / Variety = Amazing especially the smoked salmon which you can eat as much as you like. Value= ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ make sure you are starving I also had an Avocado Benedict which was delicious. Have never had Croissants like theirs unreal. Coffee is rich and the orange juice is super fresh sweet and full of flavour. Can’t say enough great things about Breakfast at the Ritz. I will continue to be a regular customer..

I took my girlfriend as a surprise for her birthday today and I can honestly say it was the best dining experience we've ever had. We had the 3 course lunch which is actually cheaper than you'd expect for The Ritz (roughly £50 each) and it blew us away. From the moment you enter until you leave, all of the staff were so friendly and polite and the dining area is spacious and comfortable. You can have personalised cakes made if you email before, so I ordered one for my girlfriend which I'd recommend doing if you're celebrating a birthday, anniversary etc. Going to The Ritz at lunch is something everyone should experience, and we're already planning on going again at Christmas with my family! Thanks to all of the staff - you gave us such an amazing day to remember!

Simply perfect. not initially a restaurant that initially we would have planned to visit, but having seen the chef recently on the television and seen the type of food it was a potential, then we found an offer to have dinner with a glass of champagne for a reasonable price. The experience is magical from the beginning to the end, on arrival the doorman,gave a warm welcome ,opened the door and directed us to the cloakroom. Having left the coats we were welcomed at the entrance to restaurant and shown to our table. The waiter, stated that he was the allergy menu, pick what you would like and he would tell us if it could be safely chosen, or amended by the kitchen - he was good to his word. The champagne was very good and a great start to dinner, the wine list, extensive, but with some reasonable prices and helpful sommelier made the choice easy. The food ... brilliant ,well presented, tasty and reasonable portion sizes three courses was just great. My daughter wanted ,if possible ,a photo with John Williams the head chef, we ask, in hope rather than expectation, but we timed it just right, no photography in the main restaurant (grounds of guest privacy) but in the hotel lobby area, the chef appeared in full whites and duly obliged- making the evening extra special. On the way out having finished the evening we took a photo of the flower arrangement, and were approached by a member of staff, who offered to take a photo of the party in front of the arrangement, unexpected, welcome and just confirms that this is a place apart from the rest of the London dining scene. This was a really great evening, with great food, atmosphere, service and setting. Thank you to the whole team at the Ritz - it was a truly special evening

We celebrated a special occasion for lunch at the Ritz ,the hotel and the dining room is one of it's kind and is a visual treat,the service is second to none and has been top draw throughout;now the food 2 canape of goats cheese and foiegras were both delight to eat and very well executed the goats cheese canape best of both ;wife's starter of cured salmon again vibrant and well flavoured ;my sea bass with lemon and beans was good but I thought it could have been more exciting on texture and flavour ;my mains of lamb was the weakest dish of the menu,basil puree the stand out element on the plate ;partners halibut was outstanding;dessert of souffle and chocolate were both delight to eat;petit fours was good but lack the depth of textures and flavours; bread was the finest you can get with a well formed crust and texture it was a delight to eat; overall it was a special experience with great food and fantastic service;Will definitely return and thanks to the great team

It had been an ambition to eat at the Ritz for some time. Arriving early we had a drink in the Rivoli bar. Fabulous cocktails, décor and atmosphere. Our meal in the restaurant was fantastic with the intensity of some of the flavours being unbelievable. With the quality of the food and wine thought the cost was very reasonable. This is quite simply the best restaurant in the Country. I have eaten here many times and found the service impeccable and the food beyond compare. Strict dress code for lunch and dinner but why would you want to look scruffy in such a prestigious venue. I was in London on holiday last month and booked a 3 course pre-theater meal. I can only say it was the best meal I've ever had. We were fortunate enough to sample dinner at the Ritz to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary on Sunday 14th. From the moment we stepped out of the taxi we knew we were about to set out on a very special sensory journey. As you enter, the magnificence of the building and decor, is in itself enough to take your breath away. Add to this a level of style, service and old fashioned grandure to which royalty are accustom, and you have a truly memorable experience. We went on a travelzoo deal. It was amazing. We had 100% service. The staff were very efficient and friendly. The food was amazing. If you use wheels (wheelchair) you need to use the side entrance to get into the hotel a member of the doorman shows you. Once at the table they will take it and store it.

We decided on a day out in London as my daughter and son in law treated us to "Dinner at the Ritz". First of all lunch, followed by a show and then "the Ritz". As we arrived we were greeted by a man at the front door in a top hat and tails, then by a smart, polite young lady at the restaurant reception desk who showed us to our table and introduced us to our waiter, who was also smart in tails. We had a good table in tasteful surroundings with plenty of ambiance. We were served a glass of champagne to start, not too dry, just right. The menu had something for everyone. The food was tastefully served, looked good and was delicious, with a decent gap between courses. A point of interest to me was as we were served each course our waiter described exactly what it was in detail. We finished off with coffee and delicious petits fours. There was a sedate air around and everybody was dressed correctly as the Ritz has a dress code which they adhere to. A "Must do", even if just for the food and service alone.

The service was impeccable and special thanks to waiter Mateo who made me feel totally at ease and not out of place, as we're a younger couple and my partner suprised me with our visit I was totally overwhelmed but Mateo was calm and professional and talked me through everything. Horrible intransigent admin issue at Ritz dining room meant I was pressurised to pay a full bill of £245 when I'd already paid £119 Travel Zoo promotion all because I couldn't produce a physical voucher despite having full proof of Ritz & Travel Zoo booking and confirmation. Ran to train with minutes to spare after embarrassing episode trying to pay my bill.72 & 70 year old trying to enjoy Birthday whilst being held to embarrassing ransom administration.

The langoustine was superb (definitely top 3), sole good, music loud on the night we visited and some of the best scrambled eggs ever in the morning. Service not that polished with international staff, but good enough. 4.5 stars. Would come again!

The most beautiful dining room we've ever seen. I made the best choice to pick this restaurant for celebration of wedding anniversary. We ordered 3-course a la carte for each of us, 2 glasses of champagne, and 2 glasses of wine, which totalled a reasonable bill of £298. Foods were very good, but not the best we've had. We took our time to enjoy the wonderful evening in this beautiful place. We were seated at 19:00 and spent a total of 4 hours there (each table is reserved for one party per evening that's why guests don't feel rushed returning the table as in the case in lots of other restaurants). The restaurant also surprised us at the end of the meal with a mini raspberry & cream anniversary celebration cake covered with icing and lit with candles.

The service was excellent; the waiters are very attentive and went out of their way to ensure we were looked after. We had the 3 course set menu with a glass of champagne. I had the Roasted duck liver and my partner had the Heirloom Tomato as starters, it came out looking fantastic, and it tasted even better than it looked, for mains we decided on saddle of lam and the bresse pigeon, again the food was cooked to perfection, for dessert we had the exotic soufflé, beautifully presented, and attention to detail! When I made the booking I mentioned it was a birthday celebration and at the end of our meal the presented a small cake to my partner which was a lovely gesture. Overall an exceptionally amazing evening and very good value for money at a special venue.

Visited Oct 2013 They must be either artists or magicians in the kitchen who create such pieces of art on your plate. The amuse bouches and the starters gave my palate long lasting explosions of flavors on several levels and have therefore set very high expectations towards the main course and dessert. My lamb main course was perfectly fine - cooked just right as I like it and wonderfully presented. However, Ritz still gets only four instead of five stars from me for two reasons: 1) the souffle dessert was way too sweet for my taste so that I couldn't even finish it, and 2) the prices for wines by the glass are simply extreme. To charge £15-30+ for a 175ml glass is just too much. The wines may be great (and mine indeed was), but maybe it would make sense to offer something more affordable to choose from as well. Overall, a very nice evening in a very special atmosphere, amazing food presentation and impeccable service.

Came here for lunch during December. Booking is essentially. The lunch room is large with big windows opening on to the terrace (open in summer) which overlooks Green Park. You will be seen by a number of different staff, all really attentive, particularly the Sommelier, who comes over and is happy to talk you through the epic drinks selection. The food is fantastic and whilst the portions don't look large, you certainly leave full. You need to wear a jacket and tie (gents), which you are able to borrow.

In February went out for my dads 60th at The Ritz Restaurant it was a tail of 2 halfs, the food was lovely and rich and the decor was grand and beautiful with a lovely atmosphere and great entertainment HOWEVER the service was appalling completely forgot about us, they bumped into us all the time and never apologized, they stuck themselves to other tables and never gave us any attention or service and then there was the price, you know if you go to the Ritz it will be expensive but the price was a joke, no service charge but they added on a £40 per person entertainment cost which we never asked, you might understand £40 for the table but not per person and the prices of the beers and coffee were a Rip off price, so in the end not sure what to say about the Ritz, would recommend for food but nothing else.

I could barely contain my excitement as my boyfriend and I walked through the elegant entrance hall of the Ritz in London. It may seem silly to some, but it’s not everyday that one gets to take afternoon tea at the Ritz, an institution synonymous with aristocratic elegance and the glory of a bygone era. Being a hardcore tea drinker (although I have always been perplexed by coffee aficionados), I love afternoon tea: an affair which the Ritz is famous for taking to decadent heights. As we walked down the gilded hall, the soft lull of music guided us to Palm Court, the Ritz’s stately and bejeweled tea room. Once seated, I looked around the room. Despite the price (about sixty-six dollars per person), the twelve week advance reservation requirement, and it being a Wednesday, the room was packed with elegantly dressed individuals. Neither jeans nor sneakers were to be seen in this crowd of cocktail-dress wearing and coat and tie bearing customers—the Ritz has a very strict dress policy. I savored the old-world charm of the room: the gilded ceiling, the crystal chandeliers, the waiters in tails, and the ever present tinkle of china and conversation. The place exuded charm, refinement and over all luxury. I was definitely ready to start. Within moments our waiter appeared with menus and a three-tiered silver cake stand, which was quickly covered with dainty, no-crust sandwiches on the bottom, freshly baked scones with preserves and clotted cream in the middle and topped with delicate little pastries. Our teas were prepared in silver teapots and served in fine bone China designed exclusively for the Ritz. Feeling very posh, we started eating, as we thought logical, from the pastries down. It was only half-way through devouring our pastries that I noticed that we were the only ones consuming our sweets—everyone else was nibbling away at their sandwiches. Feeling very plebian for neglecting some rule of afternoon tea, which I later tried to Google, but never found, I too started nibbling on these crustless bites. Waiters, rushing about the room, refilled trays with more sandwiches, scones and sweets than I thought humanly possible for any individual to consume. After eating and drinking tea until we were about to burst, we finally had to beg our waiter to stop placing more food in front of us. Two hours in Palm Court left me satiated both physically and spiritually. I had drunk in enough of the beautiful décor, the melodic piano music, the superior service and the wonderful sensation of feeling swank and special. The Ritz is definitely more than tea, it’s an experience. If, unfortunately, time, distance and price make afternoon tea at the Ritz in London impossible, do not despair, there are options in Philadelphia for even the snobbiest tea drinker. The Four Season on Logan Square offers tea every afternoon from 3 to 4:30 in its Swann Lounge. Additionally, the Rittenhouse Hotel’s Mary Cassatt Tea Room and Garden also offers an English style tea daily from 2-5pm. However, for a different type of tea experience, try Ray’s Cafe and Tea House in China town, where you can enjoy their bubble tea or their famous coffee (if that’s how you roll), while nibbling on Taiwanese fare. --kosianc
