Lucky to have this top rated fish restaurant 10mins from my home. Best fish and chips in north London. Crispy light batter and chunky chips. Also do a great lobster Thermidor. Owner is very friendly and accommodating. Whether you eat in or get a takeaway you won’t be disappointed

We've been a few times, so I think I can offer a fair review. The food is fine, but I feel the prices are too high. For example, when we opted for fish that wasn't battered, which I think is a good test of a fish restaurant, above a standard chippie, the fish didn't seem to have that much flavour (maybe a lack of seasoning). In terms of the battered fish, it's a similar story, the fish is ok, but the batter is not too the same standard as a place such as Toffs of Muswell Hill. The one strong positive was the Tony's Arbroath Smokies, which tasted really good, lots of flavour and filling. On a couple of occasions we've eaten in the service has again been ok, but there often seems to be a long wait and we've not felt that welcomed for a local business. We've not been asked how our meal was, or if we wanted more drinks, when glasses have been empty.

Best fish and chips in north london. the last time i had fish and chips this fresh was when i was in cornwall. very nice restaurant with chip shop next door. its very evident that very high quality produce is used. Owner is very friendly and welcoming, staff are also very friendly, polite and well trained. all in all a hidden gem!

Great place (or should I say Plaice)! Fish and chips was amazing, soft flaky white fish with a crisp batter and really tasty! Highly recommend, quick service and not busy at all when I was there, 6:30 on a Sunday. Have a look at the photos!

Updated in 2021. My local fish and chips place. I've been going to this place for more than twenty years but no longer go. I don't like it any more. It's changed or maybe I just found out more about it and changed my mind. I don't like smart arses or tight arses so decided to never visit this place again. There are loads of fish and chips places in my location. My last experience was not a good one and I don't like the owner. I always deal with the staff who are friendly and always ask if I want the meal deal. Today I got charged full price and I did not like the explanation I got when I queried them so this was my last visit.

Best takeaway fish and chips for miles around. The restaurant has a much wider range and I'm sure it's all good, though to be honest there is no better choice than the cod/haddock, chips and mushy peas. Proper, fat chips and big chunks of fish in melt-in-the mouth batter. Good wine list too. Great staff as well. Highly Recommended.

This isn't a bad place to get a take-out fish and chips. The man who served me was a bit surly but the staff here generally have a bit of an attitude problem. They just can't help being rude most of the time. I asked for fresh chips because I could see the ones in the tray had been sitting for some time. The answer was very snappy. Yes yes she said like I was asking for something completely unreasonable. The fish was nice and the chips were pretty good too. I don't know what the restaurant is like but it looks overpriced to me.

A lovely cheap lunch. You get what you pay for! I had soup and a decent sized piece of haddock in batter. The fixed price menu even included my free tomato juice. My friends thought that the free wine was substandard. You have to ask for the fixed price menu, although it is advertised on the window, it is not mentioned when you try to order.

Battered cod is amazing and they close on Monday because the fishermen don't work on Sunday so there is no fresh delivery on Monday morning. Best tartare sauce ever! Chips are deliciously crunchy and fluffy inside although not as good as they were a decade ago, they are still very good but thankfully the cod and tartare sauce have remained consistently top top.

It was an okay dining experience - the fish and chips were delicious, not greasy at all. Massive portions, however it is JUST fish and chips and really quite expensive. You were given three measly pieces of bread to start and for two starters and mains, with soft drinks (water from the tap at £4) we paid £50. If I go back, I won't bother with the starters as the main is super filing and save this places for an occasional treat....However would rather spend money at Fish in Borough Market and get a little bit more for my money.

The Two Brothers Fish Restaurant on Regent’s Park Road, Finchley is a handsome little Fish & Chips ‘shop’ which also serves an assortment of grilled fish and seafood. Our party of eight ordered evenly, half haddock and the other half cod. I tried both and found them equally well battered, perfectly fried and crunchy, but preferred the cod (I ordered haddock). Try the jellied eels, they’re fantastic with a squirt of lemon/lime and a dash of Tabasco. Service is good, making up for the lack of smiles with speed. Worth a visit. Oh, and if you don’t want to visit but still want to give them a try, there’s a dedicated take away next door.

Chips are very good, fish was a good fillet of cod but tasteless and the batter was poor. Customer service was poor, they had 5 staff behind the counter but still looked very miserable. The packaging was poor (in paper), given the expensive price they charge it should really be in a box. The other fish and chip shop down the road (Seashells) has much better fish and the customer service is much more friendly, plus they put the food in a box which keeps its piping hot.

Hello, i have ate at this restaurant twice and on both occasions i have had soup. The first time was the fish soup which was amazing and today i had the soup of the day which was leak and potato (which was also as excellent as the last one) that was served to me by a lovely young lady who had a cute smile and was very friendly and professional in her job. I've only tried the take away shop (they also have a sit down restaurant swell for which they probably charge more), and I think they make the best battered haddock or cod. The lady at the til could be a little more friendly! The guy in the back making the fish seems like a very jolly fellow and looks like he loves wha he's doing. They also have the best chips which are light and fluffy. That makes it the best fish and chips I've had in Finchley.

We have been visiting the Two Brothers regularly for almost 30 years and we believe that it is one of the most consistently good restaurants in the area for quality, service and friendliness. Even a change of ownership some years ago didn't affect the atmosphere of the place. We would have no hesitation in recommending the Two Brothers to anyone who wants good, reliable fish and chips (or other seafood dishes).

I went in thinking we could pay by card for a portion of large chips and its only on orders over £5, I only had £2 change so we left but my son insisted on the regular ones worth £2, we ordered and the lady kindly gave us a bit extra and ketchup seeing we didnt have anymore change. I didnt even notice she had given us a large portion until we left! Nice experience super kind lady. Will definitely come again and eat in to make up for her gesture. (Lovely chips) ☺️☺️ Thank you

Fresh fish and excellent chips. Everything's cooked freshly to order but it's worth the wait. My family had haddock (in matzo meal - if you prefer instead of batter) and chips, while I went for grilled seabream on the bone and new potatoes. The bream was wonderful but naturally I was forced to steal chips from the others because it would have required a will of iron to resist (and I have a will of cotton wool). On a previous occasion, I had salmon with hollandaise, which was also very good.

I once had what I considered vastly overpriced fish & chips that ended up shocking me with it's true value for money. Two Brothers Restaurant was my superlative fish meal, and is the best I've ever had. I didn't understand that traditional 'fish & chips' could truly be a gourmet experience.
