Reviews of Udaya Kerala Restaurant
I. S.
Welcoming, friendly & helpful staff. Delicious food with excellent selection of vegetarian dishes. Would live to see more vegan options on the menu though! They also have a wide selection of alcoholic & nonalcoholic beverages.
There is one bike rack opposite the restaurant across the street for those who cycle.
S. S.
Perfect ok Food. Especially the carb roast . We love the whole food whichever ordered. The chef is excellent. I never had a Kerala food like this in the UK. The serving also awesome. Thank you for good time and gourmet food.
A. D.
Food and service so much improved. Hence why the price increase but we'll worth it. Fantastic food best Kerala food in UK
R. E.
A huge thank you to Praj and team for the length they went to ,to help me with delivering a meal as a surprise to a friend of mine on her birthday. I believe she enjoyed the delicious spread. A very accommodating and timely service. Thank you
S. S.
Food as always, one of the best South Indian you can find South East.
Service has always been and service timings has improved a lot lot better, and really enjoyed the experience....Well done and see you soon.
J. J.
Gud Kerala food, affordable prices. Only downside would be the long wait times after ordering. But the quality makes up for it.
B. N.
Went there for Onam sadhya food . The food was nice and the ambiance was good too.
A. V.
Went here for the Udaya Onam meal. Great food.. the ambience doesn't cut it for the place, but great food
S. G.
Was craving for some authentic kerala food and found this gem! Loved the food. The quantity seemed slightly less for the price, rest everything 👍
P. K.
Very nice vegan options in the menu! Perfectly seasoned, fresh and full of flavors. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly service. Unfortunately portions are very very small, which was disappointing especially since the food is so tasty. But apart from that, I warmly recommend.
S. T.
Great tasty food. If you want to taste genuine Kerala food then this is the place you need to go.
R. T.
Porotta aka Barotta & beef is a must try item. Appam too
B. B.
Good Kerala Cuisine food with a normal price. Good Ambience and well maintained. We ordered Porotta, Appam, Mutton Curry, Beef Fry and Avoli Pollichath.
Avoli pollichath took us to a big surprise. We dint expect the fish to be that big and it costed about 22 quid. That was never expected. Except that we loved the food.
So be cautious before you order fish items. Be specific, ask for price to avoid surprises.
Place is located in East Ham. They do have outdoor catering also.
Also a bitter experience with the Beer. Both Kingfisher and Budweiser, the pint can was not filled thus was not available. So we had to settle ourselves with the only option Cobra.
B. S.
Authentic Kerala food. Never fails.. great staff. I have recommended this restaurant to many and none were disappointed and now regulars.. recommended try - mixed grill
P. H.
This is the go to place for lovers of South Indian food. Everything tasted great and seemed totally home made and cooked completely from scratch. They use all whole spices (not ground), and the food is not westernized in any way. The mutton biriyani was amazing, so fragrant and light. The whole fish baked in a banana leaf (fish pollichathu) was an experience, freshly cooked to your table and full of flavour. The mutton curry was also so good with a curry sauce that was so flavoursome. The puri looked home made and was so fresh and overall we were just so impressed with this place. Fantastic service and quite different and really nice decor. The restaurant is in a slightly odd location on a quiet mostly residential street, but don't let that put you off.

One of the best places in london for authentic kerala cuisine. The authentic kerala flavours have not been tampered with and its a little spicy too. I think there are indian people who serve at this place. And the food is really good. Kingfisher beer is available and brings back some memories, because back in india its something that most people start drinking. Easily accessible, just on the street. Car can be parked on the road. I would love to come back.
N. J.
Good Kerala food, a bit on the spicy side but that's exactly how keralites like it. Beef fry and porotta is a must try. Green pepper lamb roast was a delicious appetizer.
A. S.
Authentic Kerala Restaurant with amazing food!
Loved their Chicken Biriyani, Fish Curry and Kerala Porotta. Well maintained nice and courteous staffs. I'd visit this place again.
A. J.
Hands down the best Kerala restaurant in London, perhaps even in the UK. Everything is authentic, spot on and delicious. Great prices and quantity as well. On particularly busy days service can be a bit slow but everything is worth the wait. Must try the prawn curry and devilled chicken.
A.
It was Nice Dinner tasty kerala touch will visit again......not excellent but taste good for the toungue.

The minute you walk in you can get the smell of spices and heavenly cooking. Only ordered the seafood deville, paneer 65 and barotta. Fantastic taste, great portion size and service. Will definitely be a frequent customer to this amazing Karelan restaurant👏😋

We travelled 28 miles and were not disappointed. Good place to have Kerala dishes. The King Prawns Fry we would recommend. Nice staff too.
I. C.
Nice and cosy little gem of East London. Authentic and Delicious South Indian food with in reasonable price range. A Must go place...

Lovely food and service. Perfect for a taste of Kerala cuisine.
k.
The food was amazing full off flavours the prawns were fresh only gave it 4 star as the Custmour service was really bad
A. G.
The food was great! The staff was pleasant and had a smile on their face. Definitely recommend it. Best to go when there’s less crowd for sure!
A. J.
Brilliant restaurant. Can’t find more authentic Kerala food in london. Highly recommend it
S. J.
Amazing delicious sound Indian Kerala food. Highly recommended.
S. M.
Excellent service and delicious food at Udaya Kerala restaurant with touch of classical music and arts... We had a memorable time there. 👍👍👍
S. J.
Good Kerala dishes,
Avoid the fish, Restaurant is bit dirty. Needs regular cleaning
A. M. G.
I'm sure that Udaya has a great potential!
The food served was yummy and the aroma was great!
I shall surely drop in next time when I pass this way on next time 😋
s.
Ordered a takeaway Mutton curry and Kappa (spiced cassava) separately.
The Kappa was perfect.. thoroughly cooked through and spiced as a perfect accompaniment to a keral meal. The Mutton curry was too Chilli hot... Just impossible... I am not sure if in the future I should state clearly when I order that I don't want it too hot. If this is what it tastes like on a standard order... Its just too much for my palate. Staff should have asked me. Disappointed.
s. p.
Had the Onam Sadhya today and it was amazing. The staff was very warm and kind and accomdated us on short notice even though they were completely booked. Would definitely recommend it and would surely be visiting again.
J. T.
Good Kerala restaurant for families.
D. S.
We ordered the Kerala style chicken fry and the lamb biriyani which was delicious. The service was great and we ordered quite a lot of food and it was hot and delivered exactly at the time requested.
Will certainly be using Udayan’s again and looking forward to trying more dishes from the menu.
L. P.
Excellent experience with wide variety of Kerala dishes. No words to say .Really tasty and mouth watering.🤤
V. A.
The best South Indian restaurant in the UK. Tastes very authentic.
J. I.
This restaurant serves good food and I personally like the decor inside. Staff are warm and welcoming. Will definitely recommend to others.
S. K.
Good restaurant to eat Indian foods.
K. H.
Great spices. I ordered a korma and it was nothing like I expected. It wasn't creamy or coconutty but it was tasty. £3 for a paratha is a little much. The portions are small and it's quite expensive. However, the spices and flavours were amazing. If you want to taste authentic Indian food and have a nice budget, give this place a go.
A. N.
Terrific food and 100% authentic Keralan food!!
Well done guys!
I had a real hankering for a lamb dish and then I saw fried fish on their menu and I ordered both 🤷🏽♂️🤣.
The delivery was done on time, professionally packed and the food was just wooooooow!
Thanks
T. K.
A very cosy dinner place off East ham.... The food was good and decently priced. Does not have much seating capacity so it is good to check with them on weekends. It was not busy on weekdays when i went.
A. M.
Genuine Kerala food. Freshly cooked and tasty. Fairly reasonably priced. Friendly staff.
Recently there has been significant increase in price, and the quantity of some dishes also have been reduced. Bit of a double whammy! But food still remain delicious, tasty and authentic.
d. s.
Good food ..
Liked the chicken curry.
Dont have much on the menu..
But whatever is , tastes good 🤗
B. B.
Food was really good and tasty.. we went for onasadya here.. the toilet area could be cleaner.. overall a nice experience
M. B.
Just order some Vegetable Korma with Pilau Rice!!! Flavors are absolutely gorgeous. The Pilau is the best I've tasted since visiting Goa over 10yrs ago. Very delighted also my husband enjoyed. Looking forward in tasting over dishes from you menu.
A.
Food is great and nice . Bit expensive after post covid situations
a. S.
Delicious food and excellent customer service! 🤍
M. J.
This restaurant was recommended to me by a couple I met whilst buying a takeaway and what a find!!! I think I ate here 4 times in the first 10 days of discovering it. I have had takeaway and since lockdown restrictions "relaxed" have eaten in, what a delightful experience. The food is delicious... so far I've had the mixed starter (fish/flesh) the dosa, chicken roti, prawn curry, prawn biriyani, puris and barotta.
The prawns were juicy, succulent and fresh. All of the food was nicely spiced.
I felt for the quality and quantity the cost was very reasonable (even cheap for somethings to be honest). It represented real value for money. When I ate in the restaurant I was accompanied by an Asian friend who confirmed that the food was authentic and excellent!! This was further confirmed by the clientele. I always think the mark of a good restaurant is if people who are native to the country it claims to be from patronise it.
The staff are polite, friendly and helpful without being intrusive, given the current climate masked at all times. The restaurant is clean as was the ladies bathroom. I could see into the kitchen which appeared spotless.
Just to add my 1st visit was for a takeaway. The waiting staff who took my order told me that it was quite a new establishment, he apologised that there would be a short wait. He explained that everything was cooked fresh to order, that the kitchen has 4 chefs each specialising in a particular aspect of the menu and having eaten there it shows.
I raised a couple of points with him... There is a minimum spend for takeaway/delivery which is £30 plus £5 for delivery. I said that I felt that it was excessive... if you have to pay £5 for delivery you should be able to order/ spend what you want to...although I accept a minimum spend of £10 is reasonable. Also for a single person to spend a total of £35 on takeaway was in my view cost prohibitive and possibly wasteful as it would be a lot of food. He was receptive to my comments/observations and said that they would discuss the points I raised. He also informed me that there was free delivery within a certain radius of the restaurant.
Sorry there are no pictures I was too busy eating 😂 ... on Friday it's a pamper girls night in and we've already agreed UDAYA will be catering... we'll try to remember to take pictures... and if I don't forgive me and go taste the food for yourself. A real diamond in East Ham.
UPDATE... As said above Friday night was "a girl's night in" and we ordered from UDAYA as planned... the feedback is mixed...
I telephoned UDAYA to place the order with them directly and was told that the order had to be placed on line. We spent £40 and despite being told when I visited that within a certain radius delivery was free we was charged £5 delivery!!!
Two of the items we tried to order were unavailable which is fair enough, it happens.
There was a little delay with the delivery and they called to inform us, great customer service which was appreciated.
Overall the food was excellent, great flavours, nicely seasoned, however, in our opinion in the curries there was lots of sauce and although very tasty there was very little meat considering the cost. The rice dishes (biriyani) were good served in the standard size plastic takeaway containers but the curries came in the small circular tubs. They provided a raita in the same size tub but only one pepper in a tiny pot which was insufficient given the amount of food ordered. On some levels I was disappointed having boasted to my girlfriends about the generous portions (curries) served in the restaurant what we received felt like a bit of a let down. The barrota was good however it was sent in the equivalent of a pizza box so by the time it arrived it was cooling it might have been better wrapped in foil.
Overall while I would definitely eat in the restaurant and recommend that I'm not too sure if I would order takeaway (curries) from there again. Had I spent £45 at a local Chinese or Indian takeaway I feel I would have got better value for my money. Sorry UDAYA 😞
F. J.
Small but neat.
South Indian spicy menu ...very authentic taste I can say as I am from Kerala, India. They prepare fresh items and so a short delay can be expected. The Bar is open all day so appetizers are a sure shot choice to begin with. Beer and alcohol as well as kids drinks are available.
The price does not hit the rooftop. But it is not cheapest too. The rates are worth as I had 5 items from them - loved the aroma and essences: ordered for 3 items parcel too.
Kids friendly and wheelchair accessible too.
Pets are welcomed but not enough space to move with them.
Parking is a real trouble. There is street parking available just Infront and at pocket roads- payable and limited for 1-2hours (I don't remember exactly). But if you find a parking slot and walk to this dine , you won't be disappointed - this will be your homely experience if you love South India dishes.

Delicious food ,especially Beef roast and poratt.😋😋😋
A. R.
Very nice food with traditional Kerala style. Really loved it. Be it a Dine-in (before corona) or a take-away, we get the best food and taste. Kudos to all the Chef @Udaya
p. j.
Beef fry is really good. Authentic Kerala style. Chicken 65 not that much. Fish curry was also excellent. Will definitely visit again.
K. L.
Hands down the best currys I've ever had here. Delicious, flavourful and not oily. My husband and I have tried so hard to find a place we like in the area, we will not go anywhere else now!
M. G.
Some of the most amazing and authentic Indian food I have had. They serve very spicy by default bit you can ask them to tone it down. Highly recommend this place. Nothing we ordered was bad!
J. M.
Went out for dinner on a Saturday night with my friend and his family who are from Kerala and i was extremely impressed with the food having spent time myself in the South of India.Everything was cooked really well, the mixed grill was amazing, in fact everything we ordered was amazing. Some of the best food i've had in or outside of India. The food was fantastic the service was good and I would definitely go again and the prices were very reasonable
C. G.
Very good food. We really enjoyed our meal here. Try the rice flour pancakes with coconut sauce. Fantastic. When you walk into an Indian restaurant and it's full of Indian customers you know know the food will be good. We certainly were not disappointed. Definitely recommend.

Everything was cooked really well, the mixed grill was amazing, in fact everything we ordered was amazing. Some of the best food i've had in or outside of India. We went there first time for their special set meal for Vishu. It was served on banana leaf and it felt like a very nicely cooked home food. With lentil, vegetables etc. The next time we went their and had non vegetarian which was also decent.
a. m.
Tasty food but there is no enough space... Always need to wait outside
S. S.
Authentic Kerala food, really tasty and great quality as well. Not too oily or overpowering. We had the biryani and egg roast and it was delicious! Place is also very clean and good service. Will definitely be back.
C. S.
Great food, and lovely people fantastic value, try the sea bass and the devilled mutton.
Now on my fave list! 10/10
J. W.
Try the chef’s special sea bream or sea bass. Wonderful.
Mutton curry was delicious. Prawn pakora and cauliflower gobi made very shareable appetizers.
Staff were very efficient and friendly but don’t expect a fast service. The chef won’t let anything to your table until it’s prepared to his exact standard but be rest assured, it’s worth giving him the extra time.
Just incredible.
A. R.
Udaya is one of the most authentic places for Kerala food in London. We ordered the devilled seafood, beef fry, porotta and egg roast and kappa and chicken curry. All the dishes were absolutely delicious and the portions were very generous. The prices were very economical too. We will definitely be coming here more often with more family and friends.
Definitely give this place a go if you want to know how Kerala food actually tastes like!
S. S.
Good food but some hit and misses. Hits - Daughter enjoyed the pal appam, we enjoyed the porotta and beef - authentic. Misses - the meen pollichathu was oily, huge and expensive - not to our taste. Will visit again to taste other delicacies!
F. F.
Superb food❤️cudnt believe I could taste this delicious kerala cuisine in the UK 😍
A. C.
For someone seeking Kerala food in London at fair price, this is the one. I have loved the food here every visit. Hospitality is good. Service is fairly quick. Prices are pocket friendly.
P. A.
We were 7 people and come to London for Cricket world cup and had a very nice dinner at this restaurant. We had Crab and Malabar chicken biryani. Brilliant. Will visit again if i visit London. The beef was very tasty and just like in Kerala. The waiter was very attentive as well. Happy to see Malayalees doing great food in London.
s. e.
Yesterday bought some food. Not the first time lots of time I bought foods Allways the food is so tasty. but Yesterday food was amazing no words. Something gothambu pradham was superb. Please add this food in your menu. Thank you so much
C. N.
This gem is at the back side of the East Ham High Street and great for easy parking. The food is gorgeous and very reasonable prices. Must try the beef and lamb chops! My favourite Kerala restaurant for sure
P. K.
Nice and cosy place, the onam sadya was amazing, but they need to improve the serving.
W. S.
Food are fantastic, good service.
J. R.
Ngl one of the better Indian places I've been to with my mates, quite affordable actually
J. V.
Went for their Onam sadhya. Was okayish. Payasam was not that great. Food was okayish.
E. Y.
Good Kerala restaurant. Nice ambience with music in background. Good service and good food. Lots of Kerala dishes available, we tried chicken biryani and it was good. The soup were not that great. You can try various typical Kerala dishes here.
S. A. P.
Great food!!! Easily one of the best South Indian restaurants in the area! We have ordered three times so far and we were very much satisfied. Fresh and delicious!
A. P.
As the description says, the best premium restaurant in london. The restaurant is super clean and the food is delicious. Fish pollichathu is a must try. The chef’s specials mentioned on their board are also worth trying. If you miss Kerala food, then Udaya is your spot.
R. P.
Really good experience eating Onam sadhya 2021 at Udhaya. Will go again...
J. M.
This place is fantastic! The food is cooked well. Light and fresh.
The prices are also very reasonable.
I would recommend to eat this place if your thinking of Kerala cuisine.
A. P.
Good place to have Kerala foods. Little overpriced for the quality and taste. Please avoid Dosha/Appam dishes as you get a salty taste because of the batter. Curries are good. Tried fish curry and beef fry with kappa.
P. S. V.
Vistied for first time and the food was good. Service was good. Will visit there once again.
L.
I never leave reviews, but I ordered take away here for the first time and it was delicious! Very authentic and was delivered quickly. Thank you!
A. S.
Good food. Nice staff. Service a little slow but worth the wait. The Paneer Devilled and the Chicken Devilled were very tasty though a little on the spicy side. Pal Appams and Appams were really good. Couldn't enjoy the Appams with Chicken Stew as they did not serve it but the Kerala Chicken Curry as a substitute for the stew was really appetising. Will certainly visit another time to sample the fish dishes and the Biryanis.
S. S.
Tasty traditional Keralan dishes. Reasonable prices (collection)
Must try:
Beef Kizhi, Chicken devilled
N. T.
My family got 15 sadya from udaya. we all very much enjoyed and every item was packed separately in small pots. service was very professional. thank you udaya for giving us a wonderful sadya . happy onam
N. T.
Food was good, a tad on the milder side - tasting and possibly appealing to locals with their preference for a milder flavour. Not to say that I didn't like it though. Ambience was nice. Pricewise was okay. The only downside to me was that, although the music was suiting the theme and essence of a Keralite restaurant but more than expected English crowd being treated with Malayalam music seemed a little weird to me. Even the themed restaurants across the world play worldwide appealing music occasionally which didn't seem to be the case here.
Overall everything was good but nothing spectacular.
A. M.
Small little restaurant but Amazing food. Reasonably priced. Love the Ghee dosa, appam and the kerala chicken fry. They also make really nice fresh paratha.
M.
Loved it. I will go back.
N. B.
There are only two types or parotta / Porotta.
One is lifeless, selfless, chewy dough crepe and another one is delicious, soul touching, glorious and heavenly one where Udaya Restaurant serves the second one.
I’m a parotta : porotta au-fait with lifelong experience on tasting this particular dish wherever I go way back in India across the southern end and in the UK from Inverness to Southend On Sea where I’ve tried several restaurants over decades just on parotta : porotta. I’ve never ever tasted porotta like this before and it was so light in stomach, no grease when I teared up the parotta layers and the overall sensation of having their parotta can’t be compared with any other restaurant in England.
Having enough said about parotta, their Kerala chicken curry and vegetable kurma is as simple as what you can get from Kerala. It’s so delicious and homely. They also serve kozhi polichathu- one dish to try in one’s lifetime at Least.
A humble restaurant in the other end of East Ham with plenty of parking options. It took us 2 hours and 30 minutes to travel and way back to this exemplary restaurant and it’s 100% worth.
Udaya team - You should be proud of you! You really should.
J. P. J.
Arguably one of the best cuisine (South indian) and rather modestly priced Indian restaurants in east ham. Freshly cooked food especially mutton biryani and kerala fish curry are very delicious. I strongly recommend this dining experience for both tourists and Londoners.
H. R. H. (.
Best Kerala restaurant in East London. Beef dishes are finger-licking good - the best kerala beef dishes in the neighbourhood.
N. P.
Normally really good. Enjoyed the food and service. The organisation over Onam 2019 was sadly quite bad. I am sure it is a one-off situation but it did lead to those who made reservations wait over 30 minutes to even get inside, while those that just showed up were allowed in. The crowd that gathered outside did get quite restless.
All these troubles were forgotten as soon as the food arrived. Happy Onam!
A. A.
Went for Onam sadhya tonight with our friends but unfortunately few items were finished by the time we reached there around 8ish. The rest of the served items were really tasty and as a good will gesture the owners decided not to charge a single penny to those who didn’t get the full sadhya. Great customer service , really appreciate it and tasty food indeed
A. D.
Attentive polite staff. Clean. Food very authentic Goan cuisine. Definitely a 👍
T. P.
Udaya catered for a family event for 30 people. Full menu of starters, mains and dessert, not only were they the most competetive of prices but also delivered the full order to the venue on time. Very impressed with the array of food and the chicken biriyani main was top drawer. Would happily recommend and order from them again.
S. R. (.
Great South Indian food. One of The best costal foods especially fish dishes. The seating is very congesting need to make some space for people to sit comfortably.
A. C.
Very good up to the mark👌👌👌 fish and seafood dishes. Polite staff though there was queue to eat in due to self distancing but they managed everyone. Will visit again.
P. P.
Great food especially the dry beef. Loved the veg fried rice and prawn curry. Absolutely delicious!!! Anything I've chosen the many times I've been the food has never been a disappointment. I look forward to the next time I visit.
B. K.
This was the best South Indian meal I've had since moving to London 22 years ago. Absolutely tremendous. Crab Fry, Lamb chops, Keralan mutton curry, the squid (kanava thoran), what a treat. I travelled from Hackney to go here, I would cross London for a curry this good.
A. K.
No cleanliness...food taste nice
C. W.
We visited for an early Sunday afternoon meal having read the fantastic reviews on google. We weren’t disappointed - the lamb chops was amazing! The prices are very reasonable here and value for money.
N. i.
Highly recommended.must try
Great service.
R. B.
Amazing amazing authentic kerala nadan food! Awesome service and staff. We travelled all the way till their location and it was worth the hassle. Must try for any malayali food lover. Will defenitely come back on my next visit. Try the beef + porotta, ghee roast dosa and lime juice ❤️
B. B.
Our family had food from Udaya Restaurant last Saturday. All loved the delicious curry and green pepper chicken. Leaves a lasting taste. Will be visiting again. Also, price is reasonable too.
F. d.
2 stars for delivering the most authentic taste of Kerala and presentation.
1 star for substantial portions and value for money with great prices.
1 star for the authentic artwork on the walls by artist Sunil pookode depicting the land & heritage of Kerala along with other artefacts and music adding to the ambiance.
Could work on adding some more traditional dishes like Ghee rice , Pathiri etc etc .
Cleaner than most other Kerala restaurants nearby ; especially cleaner than Thattukada Kerala restaurant .
R. P.
Food is too good and pretty cheap as compared to other restaurants. The only drawback is the location is bit far from East Ham station. We took uber (6£) to reach there from station. Except that everything about this hotel is so good like ambience, hospitality etc. I highly recommend this to people who need proper kerala food like porotta, fish curry, rice etc which are exactly same as we get in kerala.
S. P.
Perfect place for authentic Kerala food in London. Much impressed with the quality and level of service. Having explored several Kerala restaurants especially in East Ham, this one is top notch.
B. S.
The food and service is amazing.
I ordered food for a large party and it was delivered on time and everyone loved the tasty food.
Prajeesh the owner goes out of his way to provide an exceptional service.
Thanks
A. S.
Malayali food at its best.. home food far from home
s. s.
Small and perfect for south food and drinks
N. M.
Excellent taste and food. Good service and polite staff
F. W. H.
Best food..I think this is the only restaurant is purely do Kerla dishes in London..food and service was great..parking available near by. I really love the biriyani...
only problem was there was one Kerala guy seating and singing loud and shouting..which I think will not be comfort for family customers .will be great if management can look on it..
M. W.
Best Indian food I've had in London, hands down. The perfect level of spicy too.
M. V.
Good Ol' Kerala food delivered to your doorstep. Beef was cooked to perfection and Porotta was not too greasy, exactly what was needed to make my day!
S. S.
Didn't realize I was having kerala food in LONDON!
d. a.
Typical south Indian food, loved it.
D. V.
Nice restaurant..wll get the real taste of Kerala food.🥰
V. B.
We have been here many times and every time, the food is very authentic, tasty and value for money. Service can sometimes be a bit slow but it usually is worth the wait. our favourites are the Nadan Beef Fry, Kerala Parotta, Netholi fry and the different types of payasams for desert. They also do Sadyas (feasts on banana leaves) during festive occasions and they are something to try. Highly recommended.

Wonderful place to be..!! The food is yummy and very reasonable..!!👍
L. R.
Delicious!! Such tasty food, we'll priced, friendly staff! Bit of a wait for food, but the quality is definately worth it! The beef fry and king prawn curry especially lovely!
M. A.
Amazing Kerala food. I must say the best amount other restaurants in east ham area.
S. B.
Customer service is very bad , we ordered seafood grill which is really bad no crab or hardly found prawns In it ask for takeaway even though we paid at the end it is not given to take home ,asked the manager he said staff is new and forgot to give it ? Overall bad experience in my sons birthday party and we will never visit in future, I will inform this to my friends circles who lives in east London area
S. D.
We had a sari meet at Udaya and it was a fantastic event. The food was so good and the service was beyond words. I would recommend it to anyone who likes authentic south Indian food 👍
N. B. M. (.
Very good food, but very busy on peak times. Service also good.
R. V.
Travelled approx 2.5 hours to reach this restaurant, as I had heard good reviews about this restaurant, and truly the food didn't disappoint.. The food removed all the tiredness of the travel..
The Netholi fry was the star and would suggest anyone who visits the restaurant to try it out.. you won't be disappointed..
Kappa and fish curry stayed true to the native taste and so did the appam..
Overall loved the entire food experience.. would love to travel again to come and eat here..
P. L.
Especially for Keralites. Good combo porota and Beef fry.

Best kerala restaurant in East ham
H. G.
I am a regular client of this really good restaurant whenever I feel like having a south indian dish, and honestly the Executive Chef there, certainly knows how to cook those dishes.I strongly recommend it and feel that Udayas is the best restaurant in London for keralan and south indian food
A. M. J.
Really delicious and authentic kerala taste. Strongly recommended to everyone 👍👌
a. m.
Th food was really nice but the service was a bit slow. As an experienced person in food business, what I could make out was that the food is prepared from fresh ingredients. In most of the restaurants that provide 5 minute service rather the food is prepared from half cooked refrigerated ingredients.
M. K.
Taste more like central Kerala cuisine style..really loved the food.not expensive at all..pal appam and egg roast was really good.also pothi chooru which was wrapped in a banana leaf with fish fry, omelette , fish curry, thoran, kappa etc was tasty and great value for money (around 5-6 pounds). I think this is the only place you get pothi chooru in London. Two of us could have it lavishly.
M. K.
Amazing food if you like Indian and there is a range of non veg meals as well as veg. You can also get things that are of a suitable spiciest to everyone's taste. It is also usually very quiet
T. T.
The waiters were very polite and understanding when my sick mother dropped her drink. Overall, I would suggest buying the puri with a certain filling.
K. K.
Very good food, with taste of Kerala. A bit costly. But enjoyed the lunch.
D. T.
I'll tell you a secret. These people have a spacetime machine in their dining area.🛸 Here's how it works: You walk in, order Kerala rice, kappa and fish curry. Check one round of Facebook-Whatsapp-Instagram while you wait. When the food is on the table, feel free to smell it before you eat it. Then use your bare hands and fingers to mix the rice, a little kappa and a bit of fish gravy.. make a small ball of that mix and guide it to your mouth while you keep your eyes shut. Now chew it slowly and feel the taste.. Welcome to Kerala. (Works best if you have an Indian 🇮🇳 passport and your place of birth is somewhere in Kera🌴a)
V. I. A.
Had their takeaway for the first time! Goodness gracious the Flavours for their food hits ya straight away! This will be my favourite Indian food restaurant from now on! Keep up the good job!
