This is a high end sit down fish and chip shop but the process aren't actually as high as you might expect. Really enjoyed the chips which were lovely and crisp and not soggy. Also had the cod fish cake which is literally a piece of freshly battered cod and not a pre frozen fish cake purchased elsewhere and cooked on site. Highly recommended and will be coming back if possible

I have had takeaways from What The Fish last year during the height of the pandemic and it was always a delicious treat. Today I am inspired to leave my review after being treated so kindly by the manager and staff who were incredibly warm, welcoming and kind when I came in for a hot drink to warm up after being locking myself out my flat last night. It’s clear the owner really cares about the impact the restaurant has on the community. Looking forward to eating in sometime soon now we can!

If I'm in the area again, I wouldn't hesitate to visit. The food was freshly cooked and the fish done just the way I like it. There were four of us and we spent around £42. Not important but the toilet is palatial.

This is no ordinary fish and chip shop, your order is cooked to order either eating in or taking away. Alcohol served on the premises if you wish to eat in a must try the homemade Tartare Sauce . Always friendly and helpful staff . Highly recommended for the best fish and chips in the area plus varied menu.

Great experience, I got a takeaway. And I loved it. The fish was fried in a delicious batter and was mega crispy, and the chips were abit plain. But can be sorted with salt The portion was abit small but would definitely come back again 😊

A very nicely decorated fish and chips restaurant and the dishes are freshly made, both fish and chips. Highly recommend the special grilled hadock with spinach and mushroom. Very easy to find and very modern and cosy atmosphere. Also it's not overpriced for the good location it has. They can also do takeaway or delivery, very busy but well organized.

I've been to Fish X Chips a few times. The fish is always prepared freshly and beautifully, but tonight I've decided to try the calamari for a change and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised how crunchy the batter was and yet the Calamari rings were very soft and tasty. Cooked to perfection!!! & I've just come back from a two week cruise around the Mediterranean where I have endless tries and none of them comes close to theirs... The pan fried fish was delicious too...

Not too busy insid, rapid service to take our order and bring drinks, but rather slower to cook and deliver the food. The owner came over twice to apologize- think we arrived at a busy moment for take outs I think. Food was well cooked, personally I like my chips a little soggier but ok. Plenty of condiments. £35.33 for two. Will go again

Good friendly service and quality food! I ordered haddock, chips and calamari. My haddock was very fresh, crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. The calamari is served as big rings. I could happily eat them with nothing else. However if you have some kind of aioli or dip they would be amazing. Last but not least the chips were everything you could ask for. They were all big thick cut style chips and not one of them seemed smaller than the other. The portion size is generous and they clearly used fresh oil to fry them because they also tasted fresh. I would also like to add that these items weren't overly greasy. So all in all this was a great meal.

Best fish and chips I've had in many years and I was born in the 70's when there were chippies everywhere and people knew where the best ones were and stuck to them. Trust me, you'll love it! It's a couple of minutes from my home which is an added bonus for me. Relaxed, hang out atmosphere. Just my kind of place.

Casual yet sort of smart at the same time. Some good small cheap options like home made fish cake and cheese and onion pasty. Take away chips are a great portion, well cooked and served in a smart box. A portion of chips served in the restaurant is only half the size of takeaway. Friendly service.

Frustratingly the service could be better. I ordered chips to take away and was told they’d be ready in 5mins. I paid and returned to pick them up 5mins later. On my return the ‘waiter’ asked what I wanted. I said I was here to pick up my order of chips. He left the kitchen area and proceeded to serve other tables. Nobody served me for another 6mins even though the chips were ready. In the meantime the rest of my dinner at home was getting cold. Not impressed.

An excellent restaurant for that fish n' chip hit we all need of a week to lift our spirits. Friendly and efficient service, and a pretty good menu if you fancy something else other than fish. Good lighting without ruining the ambiance and wheelchair access. A great addition to the neighborhood.

I enjoy it here. The portions of chips look small but they are definitely reasonable, it's just 'London prices' so don't expect more than the regular amount. However, I do not eat fish so my partner and friends tell me that they are done well. Battered sausage is lovely, right amount kg crisp in my opinion. Main difference to most chippies would be the wine and dine aspect. Every time I have been there, many seated are drinking wine. I would not go here if you're looking for your stereotypical greasy chippy. They do offer takeaway and if you live nearby then you will find them on just-eat or deliveroo.

Ordered a regular fish and chips. The cod was properly battered, golden and crisp. Staff is friendly and asked twice whether everything was ok with my food. Only downside were the chips: i felt they could have been the industrial starchy ones and not hand cut as in a chippy place you would expect: shape was too regular and consistency similar to frozen chips. Our original review was Food is good apart from cold saveloy and limp salad. The waitress is terrible she makes you feel unwelcome she needs to learn to smile or maybe she feels she doesn't need to as service charges are included on the bill. We have been a few times and really don't feel valued as customers. Restaurant is also very cold and draughty Our review was immediately read by the owner and he responded promptly. We were offered a voucher for 2 x cod & chips including soft drinks,beer or wine. On our next visit the service was very frienndly & prompt and extremely welcoming also the restaurant was much warmer. Food was excellent and I am very happy to frequent this restaurant and continue to entertain guests. The most important thing I must commend was that the owner took on board the review and really did show we were valued as customers and saw our review as constructive criticism rather thsn malicious.

Without doubt the best Fish and Chip shop in West London, I had previously used Chris's on Turnham Green but have been left disappointed by them more than once (see previous reviews). Fish X Chips is fabulous though, no grease, a good choice of food, friendly staff and licensed.. what more can one ask? Perhaps longer opening hours!

The fish and chips was good but the waiting time was just to much. They fry the fish as you order so you have to wait and they seem to take phone orders first. So after 20 mns of waiting you keep seeing delivery or Uber eat people coming and going. After 25 mn, you get you fish and chips and the man says: thanks you for waiting!

There's something about eating Fish and Chips on the coast in England that is hard to replicate in big cities. This is the one spot in London I've found that actually does an excellent Fish and Chips and doesn't disappoint. Better than all the other big-name F&C shops and has a cool modern set up inside as well. You can get food from them on local food delivery apps too if you don't feel like venturing out for the day.

The fish was the disappointing element as the skin was crispy but the flesh was dry. The fish and chips is really good l, but is a restaurant type dinning so the price reflect that. The staff is nice there but can be hard to get their attention sometimes.

The staff can be a bit brusque, probably because the clientele are quite upmarket Chiswick Brackenbury types who aren't always easy to serve, but actually the fish is jolly good and the chips are traditional chip shop chunky chips with that slightly sticky outside. The serving team responds well to a few polite words and the cooks always knock out a hot fresh fried fish. Sit back and relax, don't hurry the server, and you'll get a good experience, with a big pot of tartare and one of ketchup. The IPA and Guiness seem crazy cheap for a restaurant (£4 a pint Guiness I think)
