Reviews of Yen Burger
V. D.
My girlfriend and I went here for lunch and we had an amazing time. The burgers were amazing and the dashi fries were also fantastic. We also ordered the halloumi and mango which was nice as well as their housemade lemonade
J. K.
Honestly not enough good words to describe how amazing this little gem is! So happy we found this place on our stroll around London Bridge - and absolute must if you like Pan Asian food. Bao buns were so soft and delicious! We ordered a burger each, and shared the gyoza & dashi chips - all cooked to perfection! Would also like to give a shout out to the owners for being so lovely, welcoming & providing the best service! Will definitely return on my next trip to London!
A. S.
Randomly came across this place and I'm so glad. Food and service was 10 stars. I'm in awe of how nice the wagyu bao bun burger was and the guava and coconut juice. Even the fries were better than the norm... HIGHLY RECCOMEND!
B. A.
We sheltered here from the rain last Saturday. The burgers were really nice with the Yen bun and we had a really nice freshly made ginger tea. It’s basic but the food was good.
D. O.
Really cute restaurant just off the main road, with a unique menu of Japanese-inspired burgers and starters, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (I tried the Kumquat drink, which was lovely, not too sweet and a little bit sour!)
A.
Lovely food! Only one waitress on duty tonight so service a bit slow but she did an amazing job! Please get more staff for the evenings though.
C. M.
Food was delicious and cocktails were deadly strong but good value. Service was really slow as only one server doing the bar, ordering and serving. He worked really hard but there shouldve been more people on.
V. Y.
We had come here for a quick lunch during the work day. Food was nothing to rave about. It was alright, but nothing special. The chicken burger was nice, but the beef burger was underseasoned and tasted of nothing. The place also had a very weird smell of toilets when we first went in. Realistically, wont be visiting again any time soon.

We visited Yen Burger today. They opened on Monday so it's a soft launch. Love the concept. Tried veggie burgers which were good. Buns very good. Sweet potato fires and halloumi with mango dip yummy. Had to wait a while for food as busy and they are new, so didn't mind. The manager was lovely, staff very good. I will go definitely back again when they are set up and running. Interiors are great, they have a lot of seating downstairs so head down if the top level is busy.

Yum.
I was hungry. The food was tasty. Different to standard burger places.
J. S.
We visiting during the soft opening, and were immediately brought downstairs as it was packed upstairs. We were the first to be seated downstairs, but that wasn’t for long. The decoration alone downstairs were beautiful.
Prices seemed fair for downtown London, but the drink prices were on the high side. We ordered a couple of different kinds of burger, and they were absolutely gigantic! The chicken burger seemed like it was made with two full chicken breasts. And the buns were delicious as well as the fillings and meat.
Service was also impeccable, with the staff being polite, friendly, and attentive, despite how must it was.
Overall, this was an amazing experience!
C. A.
I have never been to anywhere like Yen Burger before. I thought the menu concept was really interesting so went with a friend after work last week. There was plenty of space between tables, we felt safe and the restaurant had a nice ambiance. The service was fine and the staff were really friendly but wasn’t too informative on vegan options for my friend, we ended up ordering gyozas to the table which were not vegan as we were informed (perhaps add info to the menu? Menu was clearly marked as veggie but not vegan) sadly had to send these back. But the food we did order was fantastic, I had the Veggie burger which was delicious and my friend had the tofu, sweet potato fries were some of the best I’ve had! I thought the pricing was good, around £26 for two of us.
Overall, I would recommend Yen Burger. I would definitely return in the future!
A.
The burgers are good. The only problem is that they are too small, I'm quite skinny but I needed to order to burgers and after it I still was hungry, so the price is too much for the size, even if is a particular burgers restaurant. I also recommend gyozan and sweet potato fries. The restaurant is nice, maybe a bit too cold, not for me but it could annoy some client.
C. M.
Accidently stumbled upon this place while looking for the Honest Burger next door and decided to try it instead. I loved everything - the burgers were absolutely delicious (I had the chilli burger and my friend the surf n turf🍔🍤 - We both couldn't stop talking about how good they were. Very flavourful). The staff were great and really friendly, good music and setting with Japanese touches. The prices are standard (around £15 - £20 for burger/ fries/ drink) and nice that it's just on the edge of Borough Market. Will definitely go back
A. H.
The burger and fries were nice but the service was pretty bad. When we entered the restaurant we said we had a booking but the waiter/owner couldn't find that written down so we had to search through our phone call list to see when we called the spot.
Once we sat down, we had to flag down the waitress to order, and then about 15 minutes later we had to ask where our drinks were and we only get those afterwards😅 You can really feel that this is a family owned restaurant because the waitress wasn't experienced at all: doesn't look at you/notice you, slams the food down at the side of the table instead of placing it in front of you.
We had to stand up at the end and go to the bar to flag down the waitress in order to pay.

So this was a great little find. Wondering around at 11pm on a Thursday in London bridge suprisingly does not have much to offer in the way of good food. There are the standard kebab places, but these are not really great. Oh and don't forget the cheeky MacDonalds. However as we where stumbling around we say Yen Burger and they while being empty and pretty much ready to close took petty on us. Welcoming us and serving up a great selection of food, and was it great!!
Definitely give these guys a chance and order all the food. Everything we tried was tasty so I am not sure if you can go wrong here.
And as for the staff they are fantastic. So much fun and super friendly so be nice!
J. M.
This a really nice restaurant that looks really small and basic at street level but when you go downstairs to basement the decor is amazing and very spacious. The menu has a variety of burgers including two vegetarian options, one based on a Portobello Mushroom and the other being tofu based. I chose the tofu option which was very good. The burger tasted really nice and was sandwiched between salad and a sauce that had a nice hint of spice. I also had the sweet potato which was really tasty. The portion size was good and they were cooked really well. Definitely recommended.
A. M. M.
Very spacious place with lots of sitting downstairs
Very good place for a burger with amazing buns. The only thing is the first burger (I forgot the name) was missing some seasoning maybe... When I tried I could tell it was delicious but didn't thing WOW... Something was missing and I though maybe the burger needed some seasoning...
Maybe the other options are better... So I will need to go back and tried them all, because they all seem to be great!
S. C.
A cute little burger place with a few twists. Must have their coleslaw
L. G.
Delicious burger, fries, chicken wings & halloumi, All served in dim sum steam trays. A nice change from the array of big chain burger restaurants in central London. Nice location right next to Borough market and London Bridge tube station. Lots of space downstairs if it looks full upstairs; well priced too - definitely worth a visit! happy customers :-)
K. S.
Went here with a friend for dinner. We both loved our burgers. I had the yen burger which was delicious and the dashi (paprika) chips were some of the best chips i have had in a burger restaurant. Service was quick. They even gave us NHS discount. Would come here again.
L. T.
Great flavours. We had the veggie burger and chicken burger and normal + sweet potato fries. Very easy to spend ~£20pp. Burger felt slightly on the small side but maybe that's a good thing? (eyes bigger than stomach/portion sizing etc etc)
C. P.
What a fantastic experience. The burgers are beyond belief good, I got the yen supreme. The turn up sauce is a hot sauce lovers dream, and pairs immaculately with their dashi chips. Veggie Gyoza has fabulous flavours and texture. Honestly, I can’t rave hard enough about this place.
N.
Tip 1: When asked where you'd like to sit, say 'Downstairs'. Upstairs lets you experience winter in all its coldness every time the front door opens. Also, there is no where to put your coat without it touching the floor. The decor is better in the basement and it's warmer.
Tip 2: I recommend the Tofu burger. I asked the waiter for a recommendation and although he looked bored for a Monday night despite being at 30% occupancy, he was still polite and made a good suggestion. The burger itself is huge and is a bit impractical as something to eat (watch out for the tough aubergine!). Nevertheless, the sauce was great and it was a tasty meal.
Tip 3: Sweet potato fries were okay but lacked seasoning. If you like a bit of salt, you're out of luck. They only put Heinz tomato ketchup on the table (...this would probably be a good opportunity for a Japanese brand sauce to distinguish itself from other burger brands, but nope, not even that).
Tip 4: If you identify with being a male, do not use their one toilet. The lock is broken on the door that barely closes. It was dirty. And the sink tap didn't work because it was missing a handle!
Overall: average at best with significant improvements to make. You'll have a better experience at the Honest Burger next door.
T. m.
I went here yesterday sunday 17/10. I had a burger and dashi chips on the side they were so nice. I also love the service of young lady she’s wearing White Yeezy’s smiley and very friendly. Definitely worth to visit!
M.
I found this place on Just Eat and I thought I would give it a go.
Having looked at the menu, I thought it was on the tad expensive side, but then I was ordering through a third party.
I ordered the Wagyu burger on Yen bun. I didn't quite know what to expect.
I've never tried Wagyu beef (but have been wanting to try for a long time) so I reservations about a Wagyu burger.
Anyway, it arrived and looked delicious, simply wrapped in thick foil, no fancy wrapping here.
I took a bite out of it and instantly noticed how tender the patty was and how soft the bun was. It was tasty but probably not well proportioned as it seems a little small.
All in all, I would probably try it again but dining in to get a proper taste.
I. R.
Decent food, but the flavours didn't blow me away, was expecting more from a Japanese-Western fusion restaurant.
Service was good and fast, there's plenty of space downstairs.
Good variety of burger choices, including vegetarian. Burgers on the smaller size, with sides on the bigger size.
A bit pricey, but I guess you're paying for the location and the novelty.
A.
Argh, what a ridiculously amazing place this is. We celebrated my wife’s 30th birthday at Yen Burger and they were incredibly accommodating and friendly. Not to mention the food was delicious! All our friends have since been back, saying that it was one of the best burgers they’ve had. My tofu burger was as good as the meat version and packed full of flavour!
N. P.
Good overall experience. Dashi chips are brilliant. Chipotle sauce worth it. Aberdeen patty was much better than Wagyu though. So go for a Surf N Turf instead. Turkey bacon also interesting.
S. A.
Great vegetarian options. Perfect place for a quick meal especially for lunch breaks. Customer service was OK that's why the 4 stars and not 5
F. R.
Burgers are well prepared, and they come in an Asian-inspired bun, with savory ingredients.
Plenty of Asian-European fusion options as well as funky desserts.
I. F.
Delicious tofu and aubergine burger.... Nice fries and a tasty sauce... Need to up it a bit with more fire for the real chilli heads
K. E.
Perfect end to a perfect evening! Tastiest burger I have ever had with perfectly cooked sweet potato fries delivered promptly. Thank you!!
M. W.
Fantastic Burger and dashi fries and amazing sauces. I left this place wanting more and the portion was more than enough. I have to go again.
A. K.
Interesting burgers. Tasty meat. Good amount of fries with spices on. They have a big room also in the basement so don't be fooled by the tiny space when you walk in.
Z. D.
This place feels like a bit of a novelty, the burgers are a cool idea (the buns are made from a white dough similar to Bao) but don't feel very Japanese. Their eponymous"Yen Burger" is a bit pricey but quite good, everything else on the menu though is good enough but nothing special. The interior decor is minimalist and not very comfortable or welcoming, and the service is quite slow and impersonal at times. The food and service came to about £38 (without any drinks), so it's quite pricey for what it is.
This place isn't bad, but I wouldn't be in a rush to come back.
M.
Great food and friendly staff. Absolutely loved the gyoza and the beef burgers were cooked really well.
L. M.
Unfortunately we left after five minutes of arriving as the restaurant stank so heavily of toilets! So sad as we'd been looking forward to the food considering other reviews. More ventilation needed!
S. W.
An alright place - burgers were fine and nothing special. Go if you’re in the neighbourhood and looking for fusion burgers
T. A.
Really good well priced food i recommend the spicy burger. The Gyoza is fantastic and really well made. The Service was fantastic staff were friendly, helpful and spoke clearly and loud despite masks. I would recommend if you're in the area. Only complaint was that the only outdoor seating were two benches outside which made for a nice casual feel but a face to face table would have been excellent. ( review written during coronavirus pandemic at which point only outdoors restaurant seating was permitted).
J.
I had the Chicken Katsu Burger. The bun was not strong enough to hold it,the salad and sauce. Things kept falling out so difficult to eat. And at that price I would have at least expected some
chips with it.
A. G.
Great burgers for their value. First time I tried yen buns with a burger. Found it quite interesting.
T. S.
Ordered the Classic Yen and the Yen Supreme via takeout a few weeks back and was pleasantly surprised. Both patties were cooked perfectly and were filling enough. One critique would be that both burgers seemed to be overloaded with the Yen Sauce, which was plenty good, but tended to overpower the rest of the flavors.
Would definitely go back though and recommend to others.
J. S.
Seriously flavoursome Aberdeen Angus burgers, cooked to perfection. The house sauce compliments perfectly and the bao bun is such a delicious change from all the brioche buns in London right now. Definitely double up!
K. B.
The BEST BURGER I've had - so flavourful and juicy (Spice Burger), reasonable prices, great service!!! Will be back!
Million times better than Honest Burger next door.
C. B.
Disclaimer: I got takeout so I don't know how the food would have been different if I ate in the restaurant. I had the Tofu Burger which, overall, was very good: the brioche bun was very soft and fluffy (i would have loved to try the classic yen bun, however, they were out of it). The various vegetables with the tofu and the sauce were really yummy, but didn't knock me off my feet. My friend had the Salmon Teriyaki burger and would say that the salmon could have been better. I am aware that this is a lot to ask for, but I wanted to try the lotus chips, which they sadly didn't have. Overall, still good and a creative concept.
J. C.
For food we ordered finest chick, surf & turf, dashi fries, and gyoza. Drinks are 2 lychee dreams. Atmosphere and food quality was top notch. Highly recommend!
J. R. (.
So so glad we stumbled across this place, a fantastic find - definitely worth a visit if you're in the London Bridge area!
Had The Cod burger and the Dashi Fries - burger was SO good, the fries were heavy on the paprika but still nice!
The Zen Garden cocktail was lovely...can I call it Asian Pimms? 😅
Finished with Mango Mochi ice cream which again was YES!
F. S.
Lovely food, not pricy.
Nice staff.
A must try.
S.
Great burgers! Loved the dashi chips. A decent halal menu in the area.
E. D.
Affordable price, Juicy burgers, nice and cozy seats downstairs. Spicy one is my favourite👌👌👌
N. A.
The waitress with glasses is so sweet! But the man with the tattoo sleeve was quiet rude, the food and atmosphere was very nice though I will probably go again.
I recommend the spice burger and dashi chips! Also the bathroom is pretty cute loved the theme they were going for.
B. Z.
Delicious fairly priced burgers with a good option of sides. The Angus and Wagyu beef burgers are delicious. I do think they can put more sauce in the burgers. Four stars because staff seem distracted at times and got our order wrong. I wanted more cheese in my burger. I get very disappointed when I don’t.
X. X.
The Yen Burger is a little pricey but then you get what you pay for. Wagyu beef cooked to perfection and wrapped in a delicious bun with pickles, shiso, cheese, lettuce, smoked turkey bacon and Yen sauce. It makes for a pretty delicious burger. The Dashi chips are very moreish and are perfectly complimented by the sweet chilli and lime sauce. The Gyoza were also yummy.
H. N.
One of my new favourite spots around London Bridge. The burgers are all delicious and I love the sides. The meat is all halal and staff is very friendly . Portions are a bit on the smaller side but it’s actually nice being able to finish a whole burger with a side of fries without falling into a food coma.
T. B.
Being a keen burger-love, I can honestly say the burgers from here are definitely the one of the best burgers around London. Customer service was 10/10, with Josh being exceptionally friendly and attentive. With the great service and ambience coupled with the amazing food, I’ll definitely be back for more!
P. B.
WOW! Visited here on a Friday night and had a great time. The Zen Supreme burger was brilliant - possibly one of the best burgers I have had! Cooked just right, didn't fall apart or clump together and tasted great. We had the chips and sweet potato chips and both were great (couldn't work out what the seasoning was on the chips to make them taste brill). And my other recommendation is go get some of their chicken wings cos they are again some of the best I have ever eaten. They had tang, sweetness and a bit of a kick all balanced together. Plus the drinks are fantastic as well.
Brill place and would definitely recommend that you have a look and taste.
L. K.
Perfection , juicy , fresh , balanced burger :)) Great service. Better than Honest burger.
R. M.
Delicious food! Nice staff, clean restaurant unassuming and unpretentious just very wholesome food, cooked fresh while we waited. It was tasty and I am glad I took a chance and popped in with my son who offered me a treat for the day. I wouldn't normally eat burgers but I finished this one. The bread melted in the mouth and the beef was tasty! Loved the music too. Looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommended 👍🏾👌🏾
C. R.
Quality burger and omg what they do to that Halloumi! With the mango sauce. Winning! Definitely recommend it
J. P.
I went in today with a friend and we had the Yen Burgers and they were great. And the Service was great too . I will be going back in the near future for sure. Very nice spice burger and sides. Edamame delicious. Nice decor. Service a bit slow if in a rush. Would go again. Highly recommend this place
M. H.
Amazing food - loved the yen bun. Service quite slow but super friendly and they seemed busy
A. m.
Service on the food was fairly quick. They then gave us no warning and asked us to leave, clumsily and not nicely; as they had a "booking" that they hadn't told us about. Food was okay though not that special, though we didn't have their fanciest burger. I wouldn't come back, there are better places in the area
R. T.
Burgers rediscovered. It is amazing freshly made burger. Buns made freshly too. Friendly staff. I wil be back to try signature burger. Thanks for delicious taste.
S. W.
Nice burger but even better chips, lovely looking restaurant- great experience
H. K.
Food was amazing, I had the yen burger with fries and a portion of the angry wings and enjoyed every bite of each. Staff were great, asking if everything was okay, and gave great recommendations when we described our picky dietary requirement. I don’t often find restaurants that are great at tailoring their food to fit your needs however the team their were great at it.
Would 100% recommend and come back soon.
I. B.
Great service 👏 just wished the Spicy Burger 🍔 was a tad bit spicer
C. S.
Really nice food! I’m impressed with the young lady service 🥰 Highly recommend!
S. O.
One of the best cooked burgers I've had. Crispy, well grilled on the outside, but still juicy and right level of medium pink on the inside. Even by my last bite the burger was hot and tasted as good as my first bite. The chef certainly knows how to cook his burgers. Wonderful, very impressive. I like a bit less bun but it was quite light.
A. H.
Loved this! Quick service, delicious burgers (couple of great veggie options) and a very nice and cosy place ☺️
C. M.
Buns are like bao, burgers are top quality, but the spicy one lacks heat.
D. C.
Good spot and quite reasonable too.
Pros - big delcious wings, salmon salad and friendly staff.
Slight disappointment - there was considerably more bun to burger and the chips were over done.
Overall would still go back!
L. G.
Experience: I am aware this is a new restaurant so I don’t want to be too critical, however the customer experience in this restaurant is a bit awkward. The waiter changed a few times and the one that brought the burger did not check if we needed anything. It wasn’t terrible service, but very matter of fact. Needs work.
Price: I would consider that you have honest burger next door and try to match this, especially if you are not at a level where you can compete on experience. I liked your food, but it was not delivered in a way that justified the price. I had a burger (9.5) fries (3) and a Diet Coke (3) And a sauce (1) plus service which is way too close to 20 quid for a weekday lunch. I’d have come back if you bundled the fries. Aim for an amount you want customers to spend on average, rather than per item. It’s as if you’ve come up with a great menu then got your grandad to work out the prices.
Eating: good burger, nice crisp and medium inside (would be better medium rare but license hasn’t been granted here yet) and good chips, but just make sure they come out at the same time!
On a separate note I found the decor a bit raggedy, and the acoustics very sharp, consider tidying up the downstairs and softening the acoustics somehow.
Summary: good food but poor customer experience and high price point.
B. A.
Good vegan friendly food. Try the lychee cocktail- delicious.
J. B.
My experience at yen burger was really great, customer service was on point. Props to sully and AJ as they gave me a great experience at yen burgers. The portion of was good enough to satisfy me and not too bloating.
W. A.
This little spot was tucked away in a quiet corner of London. Had I not been with a family member who suggested it I would have never known a great place to have bao bun burgers.
The portion sizes are quiet small and prices are somewhat high, the presentation, the staff and the food really makes it worthwhile and offsets the prices and portion.
I went with the Wagyu beef burger and wings and I would say I will be coming back to try other items on the menu!
V. W.
Great service. Great burger, really tasty.
y. a.
Food is so good, i think it's the jest burger I've ever had. I had a supreme yen 😍
However, toilets are not clean 😐
K. M.
The staff were very friendly, but we had a long wait at lunchtime as a table of 4. We were expecting steamed style buns but they were white bread buns. One of our party had the tofu burger which was not marinated or well seasoned and so he was disappointed. We all left still a little hungry I'm afraid. This is a great concept but might need to work a little harder to fight off competition from Borough and Honest Burgers up the road.
As another reviewer below has said, I don't want to be hyper critical of a new restaurant but there was room for improvement. The prices were really quite high compared to similar offerings the chicken burger was £12 compared to beef for £10 which was confusing. Similarly things like additional cheese for £1 on a burger seems a little tight as it would usually be as standard.
The music was very loud also.
E. B.
Really great vibes, fantastic staff and amazing food.
Been here several times and finally taken my flatmates who all loved it. Would 100% reccomend to everyone and anyone. One of the best places in London Bridge!
C. M.
A fab place for a cocktail and a burger. I can recommend the tofu burger with vegan cheese and dashi fries (minus the dashi!) We ate everything. The Zen Garden cocktail was delicious too. Friendly staff and great hygiene routine.
F. V.
A really nice themed restaurant. The place looks small when you walk in but then there is the basement and it's huge. Good menu and lots of choice of drinks and cocktails and soft drinks. Free tap water. The food is really good. Decent sized portions. The service was quick and efficient. I was worried when the waitress didn't write anything down but she remembered it all and it was all correct. The food was tasty and flavourful. For where it is located, the price is of good value. As with all my reviews I would give it 5 stars for food and service. But the forced service charge brings my star rating down. I would deffo go again though.
J. M.
Good burgers, reasonable price. Service okay. Plenty of space downstairs.
F. G.
Good burger (cooked well, great taste and juicy) and fries but service wasnt great. We sat down ordered and had to wait so long for our drinks. I then had to ask and my drink was sitting in the back. No complimentary tap water until we asked also. After asking for the bill no thank you or bye from the staff after paying so it felt a bit cold. The staff seemed happy chatting to themselves to even acknowledge we had left. As i said it was a good meal and with tweaks to the service this would be a 5 star place.
T. D. N.
Burgers with a little Asian twist to it. Had the Yen Burger and tried the Dashi fries. The price-quality ratio is definitely good for London standards. The Yen Burger was made of Wagyu beef, which made the burger very juicy and the spices added made the burger taste less heavy, while you're still enjoying a mouthwatering bite infused with a creamy sauce and cheese. I don't usually particularly enjoy fries, but the Dashi adds a nice flavour to it and it wasn't too oily. It reminded me a bit of curly fries. Will definitely be back!
T. N.
Fab place we came across. The restaurant has both an upstairs and downstairs seating. Love the decor and vibe here. Staff are super friendly and welcoming. We tried the Finest Chick and The Cod burger both very tasty. The Angry Wings are quite small for the price you pay, but the flavour is nice. I would visit here again, I really enjoyed it and a decent prices meal
R. C.
We ordered the chicken burger (coconut coating) and the beef burger. Both juicy and delicious with the beef one perfectly pink in the middle. The buns reminded me of steamed buns from my country and were fluffy. We had chips and chicken wings with a sticky sauce for sides which were also full of flavour. The matcha cheesecake was pretty and tasted nice but could maybe do with a little bit more matcha in it. Staff were friendly. I would return and recommend this place for sure.
A. N.
Really tasty burger with a lovely soft bun and well cooked patty. Fries had a good flavour but a tad salty or one dimensional. Take away was a bit slow given how relatively quiet the restaurant was.
S. S.
The food was very good and so were the cocktails. The only real downside is that none of the staff smile! When I asked if we could be sat downstairs the lady almost sighed. The gentleman serving us did not smile. It was very strange. Very casual place that looks quite cool. It was quiet when we arrived but was fairly noisy by the time we left. I would recommend the place if you like a good atmosphere and tasty food.
M. C.
We had the Wagyu beef supreme burger and the surf and turf and we were both really happy with our food. It was accompanied by Asian slaw ( chilli and seeds ( nigella seeds? - not sure) and Dashi chips - french fries with dusting of delicious savoury coating. Really delicious, filling and good service. Amazing for the location. We could actually taste the difference in the beef .
C. P.
Lovely food and drinks, and very patient and friendly staff. Although it's not a family restaurant, high chairs are available and there's enough space in the restroom to change a baby! Looking forward to going back and trying something else, given how delicious the chicken burger was.
J. J.
This is the place that I constantly order from. Incredibly fast delivery! The burgers are delicious and both the regular and sweet potato chips are terrific!
S. C.
I order the classic yen burger. The meat and chips are pretty good. However the yen bun is a bit cold. It would be better if the buns are toasted before serving.
B. M.
Pretty decent burgers. Nice "fries"!
N. K.
Had a great time, service is brilliant and the food is amazing, great twist on fusion foods. Its a great place to grab a quick bite or sit down for a lovely meal with friends. Would personally recommend the classic burger and sweet potato chips.
C. M.
Great food - I had the chicken burger and it was delicious. My brother had the mushroom one and enjoyed it and my dad had the beef and said it was great. It was a busy evening so service was slower than it had been when I visited before but the burgers make up for that :)
g. a.
I really enjoyed my experience in Yen Burger. The food was unreal. The beef burger was cooked to perfection and also loved the halloumi with mango sauce. The mango sauce is something I haven't tried before, it adds a very unique flavour with the halloumi. The cocktails were also unreal. I really love the interior design of the place and the staff was very friendly. The owner of the place provided a great hospitality and it just made our experience perfect.
T. S. P.
Loved the food, we had the Spice & Yen burgers and it was amazing, fresh buns and the meat was perfectly made. Cocktails were unbeatable. Service was very welcoming and helpful. Great experience and will definitely be back soon!
P. C.
Went here for the first time with flat mates and was served by Josh. I can honestly say it was a really excellent experience and I will for sure be coming back here. The food was outstanding especially for the price and the staff were so friendly. I would 100% recommend.
K. A.
We had the surf and turf burgers with dashi fries. Highly recommended.
Great service also. Really worth a visit
A. J.
One of the best burger places I’ve ever been to. Wide variety of burgers, desserts, and appetizers. The burgers are interesting that they have an Japanese style to it with some shiso in the burger. The halloumi was delicious. I hope they open a Yen Burger in New York. Can’t wait to come back soon!
T. H.
Had a salad with green, which was a healthy option with Salmon. The salt and dressings can be reduced or substituted with a sauce as it felt somewhat oily. The staff seemed a bit confused on the journey as they left us the bill we called them and waited for over 15 minutes to pay. No one checked if everything was alright with our meal or recommended anything - areas for improvement in the service. We were sit upstairs, where improvements can be add in the interior to give the sense of culture. The minimalistic approach is appreciated but it lacked the the object of attention in the plain background. Also, no warm drinks served, not even tea which is a bit of a drawback. Good luck.
A. C.
Not really happy about the vegetarian burger. Really poor ingredients.
J. L.
A bit of waiting time because it was very very packed downstairs, but the food was amazing. We ordered 2 burgers both were medium and juicy. Chips could be crunchier but consider the fact they were fresh and hand cut... We can live with that. All in all we are coming back soon
J. F.
Yen Burger was actually pretty good!! Didn't know what to expect, but had a really tasty juicy burger and a massive portion of fries. It's an expensive option for lunch, but it was a treat and really enjoyed the food. Hit me right on my burger spot!
M. M.
Lovely atmosphere, and friendly staff. Food took quite long to arrive (30min for starters).
Not a fan of the tofu burger, but the rest of our group really enjoyed their orders.
N. H.
Yen Supreme burger and the halloumi side were very nice.
A. B.
Great burger's and sides.
Burger was slightly too salty for me - but good nevertheless.
N. A.
it was an occasion when your working late and the idea of cooking is the last thing in your mind. this is what brought me to Yen and it did not disappoint. i had the panko chicken fried burger which was hot, luscious and crammed with Asian coleslaw. the bun was soft and clearly inspired but the steamed milk bun that is so in fashion at the moment. i was served quickly and with a large smile. clearly everyone that enters the premises is welcome and its this gratefulness that made my meal very enjoyable. the only downside was sitting on a solid plywood block instead of a soft stool but even this was acceptable considering i wasn't planning on being there for hours. all in all a very good visit and i would highly recommend it.
L. O.
F. L.
Surprisingly tasty burgers! Small at first glance but the downstairs area is much larger. Chips were nice too. Fairly inexpensive too, so it's a nice little spot for a quick bite.
A. A.
Excellent burger. Just wish it had slightly more protein.
Still I will go back.
The chips are crazy good.
T. D.
Great little burger joint with a twist. Good decor and very good food. Slightly tucked away so not overwhelmed with tourists. Can reccomend a burger and the wings in particular.
J. L.
Excellent burgers! Looks small upstairs but plenty of seating downstairs. Lovely, attentive staff, very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Would 100% recommend! Don’t fall for some of the generic stuff nearby.
a. s.
Joint best burger in London (venimoo from Mac & wild being the other).
Delicious meat - exactly the right proportions of meat/bap/lettuce/trimmings - lovely toasted bun, delicious slaw and the gyoza are good enough to come for a visit on their own. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere (really good simple stylish fit out).
Multiple visits and will keep coming - well done.
s. k.
Amazing burger, best I have had done to perfection. And the chips crunch and tasty. Only complaint is burger was small for me. But recommended
J. L. S.
Wow, this place was a real treat. Myself and two friends stumbled upon it on a wet November evening and it was certainly our ray of sunshine. The food at this new burger joint is quite simply delightful. I gorged on a ‘Yen Burger’ which may possibly have been one of the best burgers I have had in my lifetime. The wagyu beef was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth perfectly with the oozing sauce, pickles, cheese, crispy bacon and fresh garden leaves. Accompanied with the ‘Angry Wings’, which would make even the toughest of men crack a smile, this meal was the ultimate food experience.
Friendly and efficient staff and a lovely atmosphere inside a nice authentic asian-influenced restaurant made for an evening that I will tell my grandkids about.
I cannot recommend Yen Burger enough to anyone near Borough Market. I am quite honestly quivering with excitement at the idea of returning.
One very satisfied punter. Joe Luca Smith
N. P.
Loved the burgers - I'm veggie and they had great options! The matcha cheesecake was delightful and the chardonnay was so tasty. Would definitely come back!
A. B.
Good burger. Ordered the Yen. The meat, supposedly Wagyu beef, was good but not exceptional, but the Yen sauce was quite interesting and combined well with the other ingredients. I also recommend the other burgers as well (the chicken one was great).
H. F.
See attached photo for full review. The best deserves the best. Phenomenal.
A cold and wet November evening, and the night was still young. Gleaming with excitement and humming with conversation, a trio of young whippersnappers, high from the constant murmur of the big city alight from a dusty train carriage at London Bridge station. As they leave the thick warm air of the underground, they are welcomed to the bustling streets with a frosty chill tickling the back of their necks, and a light mist of rain cleansing their foggy faces. They are hungry, ravenous in fact, and the waft of food stalls and burger joints hanging in the cold November air brings moisture to their parched mouths; still fragrant with the bitter taste of hops from their last pit stop. "Honest Burger?" Simon protests, as his nose catches the grease carried on the winds. The other two jump at the idea and start striding full pace towards the warm light of the shopfront entrance, only to find a room shoulder to shoulder with bodies and a stench of putrid fart flowing out the cracks in the door. Full. They look around in desperation and contemplate the walk back to Borough Market for an over priced hot dog and a jar of lager, before something extraordinary catches their eye. 'YEN BURGER'....
B.
Very good burger, many well balanced though not boring taste sensations. A bit on the small side but delicious. Very courteous friendly staff.
N. B.
I’ve lived in this area for 4 years already and I can say with my heart that Yen Burger was so far the Best place for burgers in the London Bridge area.
Props to Josh, he accommodated for us and delivered the best experience anyone could ever ask for.
Wagyu beef burgers are the best burgers I have ever tried in London.
Wings and chips here are freaking crazy.
Recommend for anyone looking for some authentic burger and wings experience in London Bridge.
Nowbahar fried up some crazy wings for us. The sauce here is something you will never try anywhere in London!
5 out of 5
K. C.
Savour in COVID times. Delicious burgers quick, good veggie options. Burgers were well sized despite what I read on here and fries are generous.
n. s.
Really good burgers with an asian twist.
Reasonable prices and friendly and efficient service.
Just hope they won't start open them everywhere and will end up like many other good places that use to be good when they had one place but couldn't maintain it once they become a chain.
K. L.
Visited Yen Burger for the first time yesterday which was really amazing. Each staff was great from the get go, I mean from the floor staff, bar staff and the chefs!! Really made me feel comfortable!
I had to try the YEN BURGER for I was a Wagyu beef virgin 😂 I must say that it’s the best burger I’ve tasted so far and I don’t think it’s going to be challenged anytime soon. The bun being like a bao makes YEN BURGER on a different playing field. It’s an experience that has to be tried.
The sides don’t let down either! The Angry Birds is must just because of the subtle spicy-ness and the crunchyness really makes this wings different. What makes this experience so different as well was the Halloumi & Mango because I’ve never had such a thing in my love. I feel that deep friend cheese should be everywhere. What really surprised me was the mango sauce , it complimented the savoriness of the cheese.
The drinks didn’t disappoint. The price matched the quality. Lychee Dream is highly recommend for those who like their cocktails sweet. While the Foreign Mint is for those who like a subtle hit of alcohol. Their selection of beers would get you going on a drinking spree if you don’t watch out.
Definitely a spot worth visiting on lunches and dinner or on business meeting and dates. For the prices are definitely affordable and you get what you paid for which is the quality of food and service!
A. B.
Great costly place with lovely atmosphere and tasty food!
M. C.
Super tasty, fairly priced and chilled atmosphere
C. B.
Went to Yen burger on a Sunday night with 2 friends. We all ordered the Wagyu beef burgers, which we all agreed were the nicest burgers we had tasted. Staff were real nice too :)
Definitely check this place out!
L. B.
Greats to choose somewhere that isn't an obvious choice and this was a great find!!! Just outside Borough Market. Loved my Veggie option. The spicy burger and hot wings were tasty too . Would absolutely recommend
H. F.
My wife and came down to visit London decided to stop her for some lunch. The burgers that followed were without a doubt some of the best burgers we've ever had, they were worth every penny. Next time I'm down in London I shall definitely be coming back, I don't care how out of my way it is
C. W.
Mixed feelings about this place.
The food was reasonable although there was a issue when it came out which I won't go into now but am willing to see it as a one off mistake. The stuff put it right efficiently and were helpful and polite when dealing with it.
I like how they serve pints there although I'm sick of restaurants charging for small dishes of sauce.
The stuff were all really nice although they seemed alittle over-staffed possibly.
Thought the place was rather pricey for what it was. Infact very pricey.
J. I.
Been waiting a while for this restaurant to open. Worth the wait. Amazingly delicious food; recommend the Wagyu Beef Burger (Yen Burger) and sweet potato fries (Cripsy, whereas some restaurants it can be soggy). The bun was incredible, like a steamed brioche bun. Definitely well be back.
M. I.
Great service. Amazing Burgers. Especially their signature burger with Wagyu beef, the taste is unbeatable and their friendly and welcoming service makes the experience even better. Will definitely be back soon.
T. R.
Burgers come in all shapes and sizes. But burgers at Yen Burger are a work of art! Beautiful crafted buns. Beef meet cooked to perfection to respect the flavour of the meat. No overdose of sauces and add-ons just the right amount to bring a non overpowering set of flavours. And a wide variety of sides to surprise and delight. Asahi on tap. Yummy!!
A.
Great food, great service! All in all a very good experience, they're tucked away on the corner a bit but definitely seek them out - we had the gyoza, special fried, and two burgers, and would highly recommend!
m. a.
the buger bun was big and the beef was small wich left me holding a empty burger bun , I expected small fries ended up with big fries were just ok nothing special, couldn't ask the waitress as they are not willing to recommend due to Corona virus, had to order by scanning bar code wich is understood
M. O.
Delicious burgers and fries and nice atmosphere I highly recommend
A. J. I. (.
Amazing. The chips are yummy. Get the supreme burger with wagu beef. Just wow. Very friendly staff as well.
R. A.
A nice restaurant with delicious burgers! There were a variety of things to choose from. The only issue we had was the slow service even though the restaurant was empty.
S. S.
A must visit place!! I visited yen burger with a colleague we were greeted by a bubbly and enthusiastic hostess whose was attentive to all our needs. The food was amazing and the cocktails were delicious as well. Great cosy venue
n.
Great burgers.. sometimes messy
L. A.
Food is really nice. Took a while to come though.
O. S.
Been here for the first time and will be returning for sure, absolutely great food!! Well done !
C.
The Yen burger is sooooo delicious.
I never get sick of it. It’s the most inventive flavour I have ever tried. It’s so simple but yet so unique. And a lot I know agree.
J. T.
Yen Burger was yummy, I had the Fish Burger and my partner had the Chicken Burger, the Dashi Fries and Halloumi Cheese with mango mayo dip was lovely too, we really enjoyed the experience and decor, and the staff were super friendly, you must try it!
T. H.
Great tasting burgers friendly service
M. P.
Exceptional burger for a very reasonable price. The creative use of Japanese ingredients makes for a very interesting burger experience. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming.
L. C.
Amazing juicy burger, fabulous sweet potato and dashi chips, amazing herby gyoza and awesome milkshakes! A welcome departure from your bog standard burger joint.
M. W.
Yummy burgers, feels like an upmarket fast food kinda place. We had the spicy and the chicken burger and the chicken burger was much nicer, loads of chicken in it.
D. S.
Visited here yesterday and EVERYTHING was impeccable, the staff were so welcoming and vibrant. The bar is beautiful and well thought through, the flowers bring a flawless look to the overall theme.
Will deffo be coming back x
T. m.
their chicken burger is so so nice
S. M.
Went to Yen’s Burger yesterday with a group of friends, food was delicious as it looks, the staff was very welcoming , the place was better than it looks from the outside as theres a very beautiful set up downstairs. Definitely coming back again!
M. R.
Looked small at first but they do have seating downstairs. I preferred the chicken burger, I went thinking they used bao buns. Still worth a visit.
R. R.
Nice, juicy burger, good french fries and spicy mayo with a kick. Very enjoyable. They have asahi and hitachino beers.
M. D.
The kindest place in London. I've just experienced a member of staff come out of the restaurant and give some food to a homeless person, who they clearly were acquainted with before. A place that gives to a community!!! Rare in London.
T. G.
Best chicken burger I've had in a long time, chips were good but not the best imo. Enjoyed myself.
A. L.
AMAZING BURGER! Had the all Veggie, was the best i have had. Chips could be more seasoned. But all in all great service and great food
L. B.
My favourite burger place! Great location, super lovely staff, very nice aesthetics
b.
Service was okay but took over 20 mins for a takeaway order. Burger was great 4/5 chips were very good just cold :/
M. S.
Great burgers, addictive halloumi fries and friendly staff. The beef was cooked to perfection and came with a great spicy sauce.
A. v. B.
Sat downstairs with a group of people and had a veggie burger, which had great flavours. The staff and atmosphere were cool and friendly
g. p.
Food was a nice concept. Burgers were quite doughy for me. Milkshake was lacking in sugar, felt like a healthy milkshake..
M. L.
The only reason that it doesn't get 5 stars is because some of the staff were playing with the sound system, blasting hip hop on and off. Otherwise, great burger and fries.
f. s.
today the staff mood wasn't the best , but quality burger , premium brand bun japanese style , dont get the wagiu ... not worth it but the pho is good
J. C.
Incredible Wagyu Beef burger, deglfinitly the best burger in town. A little Gem of a place. Friendly staff. Family friendly. Highly recommend!
L. D.
Quiet place for drinks to avoid the busy and noisy area. They have yummy burgers and we love the decor downstairs
R. G. E.
Top burger, nice location, service kind and good, doesn't get 5 stars because of fridge potatoes: they have been cooked in exhausted oil maybe and didn't taste amazing
M. S.
Interesting new burger joint which recently opened at London Bridge. Can't complain the food was nice, the burger I had didn't blow me away but it was decent.
H. C.
New burger restaurant.
Very tasty burgers, good variety and delicious side orders.
Staff are very friendly as well.
Lots of seating available downstairs.
m. k.

F. A.
Went with my friend here we really enjoyed the burger here. Deffinatly reccomend would recommend it to all my family and friends
V. C.
Good food, but beware if you're going for the vegan option (as my friend did) as it cost more than the meat option.
L. C.
Delicious burger ! Nice option if you would like to try an original burger ! I tried one with prawn and beef! There is also a veggie option.
Z. C.
Food was fine but don’t expect anything Japanese from it, it’s just normal burger.
B.
Great atmosphere and food, caters to vegetarians and vegans too!! The tofu burger is fantastic.
S. M.
Prices seem high at first but for the high quality wagyu burgers I’m happy to pay that amount. Trendy spot, will come back for veggie options
J. C.
The aesthetics of the place is unreal. Food was amazing and service was excellent. Great selection of cocktails. Strongly recommended.

Good, wholesome food. Just 2 people serving everyone made the service very slow at Lunch time. Bit crazy if you go at Peak lunch time. Some stuff was just microwaved but still good.
