I recently visited Albert's in Didsbury for my anniversary and the place was nicely decorated and full of people despite of being a Wednesday! Great atmosphere, lovely homemade food with great taste from local market! Our waiter Michael was absolutely amazing and made our dinner a very pleasant one. We will definitely be back.

My first time visiting Albert's and I will definitely be visiting again! Such beautiful and classy decor inside and out. Food was lovely and the staff all so friendly and very efficient. We went as a party of 6 for an evening meal in one of the booths on a Friday night, having been several times over the years. Our starters were great, the wine was good - we had the Gavi - but the mains were disappointing and a bit of a mess: We ordered three pizzas, all of which had the mozzarella replaced with cheddar cheese; nobody advised us this would happen at the point of ordering, the food being served or at any point after - it was only when we queried with the kitchen that it became clear. The dishes were removed from the bill and staff handled it well, once told by the kitchen, but had we known, we’d have ordered and enjoyed three dishes with their intended ingredients.

We were looking for a place to have lunch after our appointment at spire hospital, so we decided to stop at Albert's as we were driving by. What a beautiful place, they could accommodate us for lunch even if the restaurant was busy. Nice decorations and big sitting area outside. The service was perfect, out waiting was very nice and professional. We had the bruschetta and the gnocchi, very yummy, I would have been happier with a bigger portion. Pizza and fish and ships for our mains. To be honest, its been a while since I didn't have such a good fish and chips, was really impressed. They even had me more impressed with a vegan ice cream as my son is allergic to the lactose. Thanx a lot for looking after us, definitely recommand and be back after my next appointment at the hospital.

Wow the food here was amazing 👏 we had the 2 course special menu 14.50 all very well presented. The man who served us was very friendly and on hand. Lovely place inside 😍 Would be even better in the summer with the outside seating area. We will definitely be back 🙌

A really lovely place! The decor is lovely and the Christmas decorations make it extra cozy. It’s classic but not old fashioned. The staff are all really lovely and can’t do enough to help you! The food is really lovely, and while a little expensive is fairly reasonably priced. They also have a really nice vegan menu!

Lovely Restaurant, great ambience with great music. You have to make reservations way in advance because Albert's usually packed weekends. The Prawn Linguine was delicious, very generous number of fresh prawns. I would highly recommend this. The beef roast on the other hand had two "extra thin" slices that could have just been one slice. It was a tad too salty as well. The Sticky Toffee pudding was divine!!!! Never had one so good. Free parking on weekends.

We went there on one Friday night, very busy as you can imagine but the staff were quite friendly and efficient. We had scollop as starter which is not bad, but the main course food is not impressive at all. I can see why people like here, very family friendly place, have few families celebrating birthday but I won’t come back again as the food is very blend and I had a vomit afterwards😭not sure because of this dinner or what but not a pleasant experience ☹️

lovely atmosphere and great staff. the food was nice but all slightly off: - the rabbit and creamy mushroom gnocchi was too salty - the miso scallops were very bland which is very surprising as miso is meant to be a strong flavour - the chips were TERRIBLE (see photo) they were so overdone and rock hard however the waiter rectified this immediately and brought us fresh chips. overall a good experience as its a nice atmosphere and staff are so friendly. I would recommend the dauphinoise potatoes and not the chips!

First time eating here, went for friends birthday. Staff lovely and the place has a lovely feel to it. Busy even on a Thursday. Would have liked mushrooms with steak, which was cooked well hence 4 stars, but basically steak and a few chips. I don't like steak with sauce if cooked right sauce not needed, got a little jug with some in, was not asked if I want sauce and I did not ask for it, so glad it was not all over steak. Would recommend and definitely go again. Hard to find somewhere that cooks steak well. We all had steak and all were cooked as requested and not chewy or tough. Clearly a good chef here.

Service was fantastic the cocktail menu is excellent I recommend the rum punch. The fillet steak medallions with dauphinoise potatoes were delicious look out for the chunk of blue cheese in the dish it compliments it perfectly and the cheese board was just divine plenty of chutney and crackers Albert's is truly worth a few more visits.

Very nice, cozy and fancy environment. Good service, nice and polite staff. Very few vegan options. I ordered the Artichoke & Truffle Ravioli, very interesting dish, but it was tasteless (needed salt) and very small (only 5 pieces). Dessert (some kind of dark chocolate and orange tart) was good. Wine menu doesn’t specify the vegan options.

Went for a Sunday roast and was not disappointed. All the food was delicious, service was amazing and the decore was very nice. Only slight downside is that the tables are packed very closely together and it felt a bit cramp, but that didn't distract from the great meal we had there.

When we arrived the first thing that caught my attention was the DJ. It was a nice surprise to see that the restaurant put in extra effort and paying for a DJ to play nice background music! The design of the place is fantastic and it is also very clean! Food: super tasty! Service: average, but the manager apologised for that. It does seem like it is important for them to give the best service! I would go back and I recommend to visit!

Absolutely superb night out in this very popular Didsbury restaurant. The food was amazing. The atmosphere was very vibrant. The table service was 5 star. Our waiter Tariq had great knowledge of the menu, and was extremely pleasant and polite even in this crazy heat. Very professional service and will definitely be going back there to dine. Fabulous vibe and was a special evening enjoyed by all.

We went on Sunday with a group of 13 for a birthday, we had some very particular eaters which at Xmas can be hard to accommodate but the waiting staff were very helpful, patient and informative in the menu! The food was delicious, good portion size and delicious flavours all served hot and on time which was amazing as the place was packed to the rafters! I have to say we will be back.

Just had a fantastic family meal. I asked the bar man for a recommendation for a cocktail and he chose well, mango rum punch. The food was amazing the prawn cocktail was the best I've ever had. The steak was cooked just right and was well rested before plating. I thought the children's menu was fantastic, my daughter I had to mains but had one as a starter. She said it was fantastic she chose calamari and pizza. The DJ In the background was also playing brilliant tunes. The staff were all brilliant from the 2 staff greeting on the door to the waiting on staff all very professional. Staff are under pressure and rushed, you didn't feel as though you were being taken care of my drink and meal came well before my friends. We had to ask for the bill twice and had to wait to pay. Had a 90th Birthday Party last evening and what a fantastic evening we had from start to finish. Carlos our server was brilliant nothing was too much trouble. We all had to eat off the same menu as we were a party of 18 people and all food came out together and was hot and tasty. A member of our party has various health concerns and was able to choose from the a la carte menu. From speaking to reservations and through out the process of organising the party all members of the team where amazing.. Thank you for a fantastic evening and my mum had a fabulous birthday. Well done to everyone concerned.

Went here for a Sunday dinner. Staff were friendly, however the service was slow. 20ish mins to get drinks, then another 20ish for food to arrive. Food was nice, but not worth the wait or in my opinion the price. One of our party asked for a dinner without the meat, they still charged them the full price of a beef roast.

Visited the restaurant today service staff and food were excellent. The only downside was the sheet of paper placed under the food. It is obviously there for presentation but fails in a big way. Great venue for date night. The spacious restaurant combines a cocktail bar, outdoor covered seating (with heaters) and a swanky atmosphere. The menu includes gastropub classics and pizzas, all tasty. The chicken is beautifully cooked and the cocktails expertly mixed. Staff are polite and helpful in the choices. The chocolate volcano cake was the only disappointment (extremely chocolaty but it didn't taste fresh). This is a great venue none the less, though it is reflected in the price.

Been here a few times now, I would recommend the chicken thigh with root veg/ dalphasie potatoes with cheese and chive sauce (that’s if the menus not changed) and I do love there Sunday roast with red whine sauce. Little bit pricey but the food is good so you can’t complain.

Went for a nice meal here with family and had a pleasant time. The menu was great but execution perhaps not quite what it could be. I had a pear and goats cheese salad as a starter that was very nice. For a main I had a Goan spiced Sea Bream. This was very tasty with a nice fruity, spicy sauce. I didn't feel the chat bomb added a lot to the meal and would have rather had a single flatbread rather than the two tiny ones which felt a little dry. One of the party had the slow roasted pulled beef and roasted hispi cabbage with truffle oil. The beef was good but the cabbage was not at all crispy and a bit oily.

The food is generally good, but unremarkable, drink are good but expensive and although expected, my experience wasn’t worth the cost personally. Veggie options very poor - just one starter option (the aforementioned bruschetta). It's a fantastic venue but could do better with the menu, and food.

Food was delicious. Service was inconsistent with multiple waiters serving us. We had desserts bought out and then had to wait for spoons to eat them with. Then we sat and waited and waited and waited for someone to clear the desserts away. In the end I had to flag someone down for our bill and then we waited an age again until I could flag someone down for a card machine. We left after paying and our dessert plates were still on the table. It was getting on to 10pm and the staff were clearly too focused on doing the close work to get out of work rather than paying attention to their customers. Alberts if you're going to put a 10% service charge on the bill your staff need to be hot on service. Sadly they weren't on 30/12/21. Probably won't return.

The décor is lovely. My partner and I went for a meal on Saturday evening. We ordered our drinks and we waited 10mins for his and a further few mins for my cocktail. Food was decent although we only had one course as both full. Lamb cooked well probably slightly under seasoned as were the spring greens. There is a bar area and again I wanted a cocktail and that took 15mins. Why serve cocktails at a premium price if you have to wait for ridiculous amounts of time. Just train your staff. Then there was a gang of really rough lads that entered and I mean full face gangstar tats rough. They need to tweak some fine details in this establishment like training their staff so more members are able to serve drinks within a proper time frame. I wouldn’t rush back.

Service was dire! Booked a table for 5 people on Thursday. Had to book food/drinks through the app if you sat outside (which we did) but was table service inside. Ordered drinks first. Starters actually came before drinks! The starter was decent though. Then we must have waiting between 1.5-2 hours for our main and numerous drinks which took around half hour to make the way to our table! We’ve just been to Alberts for an early evening meal. We’ve not been to the restaurant for a long time and we were looking forward to it. On arrival the restaurant was nearly empty due to the time we were there and we hadn’t booked so they gave us a table which was fine. Then we realised that we were just under the AC and it was blowing cold air. We asked to be moved to another table but the waiter ( who was very polite and pleasant) told us he had to ask the manager. He then came back and said that the manager had just turned the heating on and that we would feel the warmth soon. That didn’t happen and I was still very cold. I told the waiter again who was trying his best to sort it out and feeling a bit uncomfortable with the situation. Someone else came to our table to reiterate the fact that it would get warmer soon but it didn’t. I can’t understand why we weren’t changed to another table specially when the restaurant was completely empty! So I sat there eating my food in the cold. Not a very pleasant experience. I am very disappointed about the way this was dealt with. It made for a very uncomfortable meal and it could have been sorted so easily! I have always been very impressed with Alberts customer service but apart from our lovely waiter I don’t think we were looked after as we should have been. I feel that your customer service needs to be addressed.

Only reason for the above 2☆ is because of the new decor. Its pretty, picture worthy but unfortunately I have not been able to say the same for the food for a while. Also, the service is always average at best, (they do try) but for the price it doesn't quite cut it, though you would be totally safe just going for drinks. We recently visited for a friends 30th birthday and I was mortified that all our plates/glasses plates were left all over the table while they brought over her expensive cake! So it ruined the photo worthy moments anyway because I was getting brief whiffs of sea bass mixed with biscoff (cake) it just wasnt right lol. Staff should be way more attentive, and if it's too busy for them to manage tables than perhaps more staff are needed... service charge remains so I would expect that is somewhat earned 🤷🏾‍♀️ luckily, my friends are too embarrassed to remove service charges or I would have not been paying that. Shame, I loved it here. I live in hope Albert's! ♡

Stuck to them🤮 it looks like a garden inside with that awful green Food was really good but steaks like sirloin stakes flattened they were certainly not rib eye as ordered. Italian Waiter excellent. Dined here last night at 19:45 on a table of five. The food was delicious. I had the goats cheese bread and butter pudding to start off the specials menu. That was truly excellent with not too much salad on the plate or being too heavy. For a main I had the Saddle of Rabbit (£16.50) which was also very good (the meat was a little overdone for my palate however). For dessert I indulged with the Mulled Orange Posset (£6) which was delicious. Just the right sweetness and quantity. The entire meal including four beers came to just under £46 which I thought was very reasonable. With regards to service, the gentleman serving us was excellent. He wasn't overbearing and seemed happy to be working. The restaurant was full, but we never felt like we were forgotten about. Thank you. Plenty of parking available for the restaurant and on the Magic Bus route so there's no excuses not to visit again. I'd recommend Albert's without reservations and will be dining with you again in the future.

Busy night, Christmas celebration meal. Firstly there is very little parking which means road parking & can be several minutes away. So plan well & arrive early or make plans not to drive. Other members of my party decided not to send their starters back as it was too much trouble. We needed to ask to get a drinks order, while plates were being sided away. At the end of the evening we were given a the bill which had a 10% service charge - ok, I'm not sure we had 10% worth of service? What we did get was ok. Also a charitable contribution - ok.

Birthday meal with family, good seating at a round table. Staff attentive and helpful. We opt for cheaper 2 courses before 6 pm and most of us happy with our choices and food. One family member felt the spicy lamb kofta were missing the spice had the dish cost removed from the bill, no problem. A free birthday treat given without asking, couldn't fault the restaurant at all on service. Loos clean and rather zoomy, parking on site. Good value, not cheap but priced well.

Had some breakfast here, the food is quite good and appropriately priced. The decor is questionable though and the service somewhat disorganised. They have a strange welcome area on the deck where they have a sign that tells you to not to stand there and to go inside, if they didn't have the sign there then I would have gone inside anyway, it's a bit odd. We asked to sit outside and were told no, then asked again and they said it was ok which was also quite strange, but pleased that they let us move. I would give it another chance if I was local.

We visited Alberts (Didsbury) today for the first time since the refurbishment. We loved the decor and the new colour scheme and the bar looks great, everything else was much the same. However, we were rather disappointed that the seating arrangements have now changed so that the smaller tables for two people are away from the windows and the seating for larger parties are now situated by the window. We found it difficult to have a conversation today as the music was very loud and obviously the chefs serving area is also quite noisy, something we had never noticed on our previous visits prior to the refurb. We are frequent visitors to both this restaurant and to Alberts Shed in Castlefield as we enjoy both the food and the service at these establishments and have got to know the staff quite well but the new seating arrangements in the Didsbury restaurant may now mean that our choice of venue is no longer an option until perhaps the warmer weather when we can opt to eat outside. We hope this review is received as constructive criticism and that some consideration may be given to offering diners a choice to be seated away from speakers or noisy areas within the restaurant.

Have been to Alberts at Didsbury several times in the past - it was one of our favourite restaurants. Lovely food efficient service and always a buzz atmosphere. It has been closed for 3 months for refurbishment so we visited 4 days after the reopening. Cant say we were impressed. They had the booking for 4 people instead of 6 - no-one came to take our coats. Very few staff who seemed not to know what they were doing. The food was ok overall but do not like the new decor which is mainly green with lots of plants. There was nothing wrong with it before the refurbishment - in fact it was lovely contemporary decor with an open feel. It now feels different - more enclosed and I have never been to Alberts before when there were so few people in. Our friends also agreed with us. We will try Alberts again but it was honestly much better before the refurbishment. Just my opinion. Hope theyre not doing the same to the Alberts on the East Lancs Road.

If you've got a good 'recipe' why change it? This Albert's is literally a mirror image of the 'Worsley' (Well Swinton actually) venue. We visited Albert's on a very busy December evening for my partner's birthday, however, as it was a last minute decision we hadn't made a reservation. Inside, the restaurant was full, however, luckily we were offered seating on the outdoor terrace - this may seem like madness on a cold winter's night, but the outdoor heaters are so good you actually do not feel the cold in the slightest. So little in fact, I actually took off my coat and felt very comfortable. The downside to dining on the terrace is that you do become a little forgotten (I am unsure if they were under staffed, but they really could do with a waiter/waitress solely for the outside tables, as we struggled to get the waiter's attention from our seats). Our drinks order was taken, but took sometime to arrive, I then had to leave my seat and enter the building in order to ask the waiter if he would take our food order. Lastly, the table hadn't been laid correctly, possibly down to quick turnover of tables, leaving me with starter cutlery for my main (not a big deal but it's a simple thing to get right). When the food finally arrived I was blown away by how good it tasted - I ordered the roast loin of venison stuffed with cropwell bishop blue stilton and wrapped in pancetta with a port and blackberry jus - 'til this day I dream about how good it tasted, in fact, I would actually go back for this dish alone. It was soooo good! We ended the meal by ordering sticky toffee pudding (always a sure thing when ever it's featured on a menu). It tasted great (as every sticky toffee pudding does), but definitely needed more sauce. As my title states, one of the best meals I've ever eaten, but service needs tweaking.

Cannot generally complain about the quality of the food - but definitely the quantity. Last Saturday I had the Aromatic Lamb and Halloumi starter portion. £7.00 described as 'lamb skewers and crisp buttermilk halloumi. I wasn't very well and not eating much so had the soup for starter and the lamb salad for main. Where was the protein? One skewer - finger length and a tiny strip of halloumi, smaller than the lamb. If we had not waited so long for the order to be taken and a ridiculous time for the starter bowls to be removed I would have sent it back. I had just come out of hospital and was being treated to this meal by my daughter, and by this time I was completely exhausted and did not want to make a fuss. One should not go home hungry after two courses, particularly when ones appetite is decreased. I would hate to think what a double portion would consist of paying twice as much. Come on Alberts, I know you have to make a profit - but!!
