Reviews of Archie's - Oxford Road (Dine in)
M. M.
Absolutely love this place! Ate there twice yesterday! The falafel wrap & chicken burger was to die for! Thr flavours! The flavours! ❤️ The place is extremely clean & the quality of food is second to none. The only downside was the wait. Please extend this chain! 🙏🏻
E. L.
Burgers are amazing, especially the hot chick! I cannot stop buying them it’s like they’re addictive. However, in the past few months prices have increased from £6.90 to £8.20+ online!
Considering the locations students are most likely frequent buyers and the new prices are too much. This is now the reason I’m broke.
Update - went to a different location down the road and ordered a burger that I used to love but they took off the menu until recently. Went in store and not only had to wait 40+ minutes (not exactly FAST food) but they gave me the wrong burger! Not only was it not the one that I ordered but it was a burger that wasn’t even on the menu?? It had breaded chicken with bacon (which I don’t eat) and these strange hard crunchy bits which were awful… Kind of lowered my opinion not going to lie so I took a star off from my last review and I hope this was just a one time thing.

Visited this place on a Sunday afternoon. Very busy but for obvious reasons. The burgers were amazing (we had the Tornado) and this is something we don't get where I'm from (Birmingham) so a great treat. The star for me was the 'oreo and banana' milkshake. The combination was surprisingly delicious!
Parking is hard to find here.

We went there just after opening at 12 o'clock and were the first people to order. Waited quite a long time for the order to be ready, and a lot of people has came in the mean time. It's such a busy place. But even though we waited long, it was worth it. Great burger and chips, mac and cheese bites definitely worth trying! And big plus that all Archie's are serving halal meat! Delicious and fair prices, definitely recommend.
P. D.
Short of staff, sometimes the same staff were covering reception, the bar and dining room all at one time. No WiFi, TV in lounge not set up. One hand towel for two people. Rooms are not cleaned routinely. One tea bag and one coffee in the room. It seems that anything you wanted you had to ask for - not worth £130 a night. Very disappointed in Premier Inn, not the usual standard. I chose this PI because it was new. Sorry, but I won't be booking again.
R. L.
Very clean. Very friendly staff. Super quick service . Food average. Did not enjoy the burgers as this was not to my taste. Comming from London it was great to see a. Halal food outlet open till late. Milkshake was excellent and delicious though.
Overall worth a visit.

OK. Hot fries and a very spicy BBQ chicken wrap. The burger, at £2.99, was cheap but you get what you pay for. Service was good. Recommended of you want a cheap fast meal.
A. N.
I've been wanting to try Archie's for a while now and it didn’t disappoint. The turn around from ordering to receiving the food was very quick. I ordered the breakfast burger, I didn’t read that it was a waffle bun so I burst out laughing when I saw it 😂🙈 Will definitely go again.
Y. X.
Basically a great place for waffles, shakes and photos. Always endless people but efficient, u don’t have to queue for a long time. 10% student discount is good.
However still some imperfect points. The pricy burger makes me wait for 20 minutes, but just so so, no difference with McDonald's. Shakes and waffles are fabulous, but tooooo sweet for me...even the cola is quite sweet. Well maybe because I’m not a native and I’m not used to eating too sweet desserts.
Anyway, worth a visit.
A.
The food is nice but nothing special in my opinion, so I don’t really know why they are charging double the amount of any other takeaway
I. H.
All the 3 milkshakes we bought were up to standard and tasty
N. G.
Amazing food, friendly helpful staff and a lovely venue as well! The chicken burger was cooked perfectly, and the fries are so tasty and flavoursome! We had to go back after the gig we went to for a waffle and a milkshake as well, and they didn't disappoint either! Perfect food, will definitely be back!
N. S.
Good halal food! The best waffle batter you can get. Milkshakes taste better than five guys. The beef burger taste 100% similar to cheeseburger from McD Malaysia
M. V.
Nice tasting burger and fries, however the service felt slow compared to McDonald's and the value for money didn't seem that good in comparison.
Only one unisex toilet in the building which is inconvenient, as it seemed to be in consent use and had a queue.
On the whole I'd stick with McDonald's if you're looking for fast food.
W. D.
Staff are nice
Place is nice
The black bun tastes similar to the white bun
I ordered takeout and they didn’t put ketchup in the bag, I forgot to ask but I wished they did it automatically
I didn’t like the Vimto Drink
Fries are small and good
They provide 10% discount to students
M. M.
Similar price to MacDonalds but better quality (by miles). We had 2no
Chicken burgers & a double hamburger with cheese (all as meals). We also had a Galaxy Smooth milkshake. Everything was good, no complaints as all. Have been before & would go again 😀
M. T.
Archies has a big reputation in the north west, and I’m not sure why.
I ordered their ‘Texas tornado’ and though it was okay for the price it was definitely not anything special. It was also very dry and had to use a couple of their sachets of sauces.
Chips were okay, though some tasted soggy again were a little dry, had to engulf in sauce.
Overall I wouldn’t say it’s a bad experience, for the price it’s decent. Though I might not be visiting again any time soon.
C. B.
The milkshake I had was so thick and was really delicious! The chips were also extremely nice, but in terms of ordering, we didn't even know where to stand and it took quite a while to get our order taken. After we ordered though, the wait wasn't too long. The place itself was tidy, but could have been tidier.
R. S.
Very delicious burgers, waffles and shakes. Quick service. Friendly staff. Halal. Affordable for students as they offer a 10% student discount.
S. K.
Absolutely loved the pink spicy chicken burger & the mac life milkshake. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the hotdog. Will return soon 😀
D. W.
Really tasty food! Just has a bit of a wait until it comes out.
A.
Maham is so lovely, smiley, and helpful. Manager looks strict but he really isnt he’s amazing.
D. M.
Guess who ended up in Archie’s again (no regrets). This time I tried pink burger which is same as BLK burger just the colour is pink and had peri peri fries with a drink and Tropical smoothie.
F. M.
A very good variety of foods and an amazing variety of milkshakes! There is a plentiful seating area, which is kept clean. Food is a bit pricey but enjoyable.
T.
Quick and friendly service but enough of the standard review rubbish.. WHAT A BURGER. I went for the Chicken Cheetos burger and who knew what an amazing combination it would be! The Chips were fantastic too. But the best thing, despite walking 10 minutes with the food and not eating it (we resisted the temptation) we arrived home and it was still boiling hot!
A 100% revisit when back in Manchester
R. M. J. M.
If you need a burger up north, Archies is your fix. Tasty, Quick (very busy) and proper. 5/5.
S. L.
Solid milkshakes and the waffles? Omg delicious, high recommend the Ferrero rocher waffle.
A. K.
Okay, fries were abit hard. Burger was okay. Not the best. But the milkshake was nice would recommend for that only.
S. G.
Took a while, lots of people given their order up to half an hour after. Good waffle very nice
S. P.
Normally Archies has always been a top place. However since the new refurbished shop had opened, the burgers are not up to par and have gone down in taste alot. Would not recommend.
T. D.
Too overpriced for something that is just…normal.
W. H.
Love this place, always good food, i come here after uni to drink a milkshake and eat a burger, usually bill comes around to 5 pound, not bad for the money, service is very fast too. Only thing i would like them to improve on is probably a bigger queue area as sometimes it goes to the edge of the door making it hard to get in
M. F.
Good food at reasonable prices and the place is clean and tidy. The service could be better though as some of the staff are impolite and reluctant to smile...
C. S.
Love the bright decor. - it's fun. The food is fast, good value and excellent quality. Worth coming into Manchester just to go to archies
S. M.
Great food...always a favourite for a burger and peri chips...lovely lady at the counter served us with a smile...🙂
C. L.
I had the biscoff waffle and it was really really good … ordered the boohoo meal which was great too
S. S.
Expensive place especially for milkshakes but food is really nice
H. K.
Where do I start. Excellent burgers. Amazing waffles. The place has a great vibe to it. All in all full stars.
K. B.
If a place is gangsta enough for a preenager, it is good enough for me.
Great shakes and food for that pre-gigmeal.
V. N.
Best burgers of the UK. Must try white chocolate waffle and yummy thick shakes.
A. M.
Amazing food, burger is well cooked the assembly is perfect, curly fries are very good the milkshakes are on different levels, sometimes you'll have to wait to get your order but the price and wait is definitely worth it a must try I'd say
R. H.
Wish it wasn't so damn expensive and the service was quicker, but the food is fantastic - especially the chicken tenders and breakfast burger (pictured).
I. A.
Premium prices, good burgers. Expected something more than a fancy takeaway burger, which isn't a bad thing... It's just that they're charging gourmet burger prices.
B. B.
Service was very quick (I went on a Friday at 3pm). Food was at a good standard, nothing special though.
L. C.
Meh, it was ok. Not worth the hype, burger was greasy and wouldn’t stay together, cheesy chips were good but cutlery wasn’t provided when asked, a must if you’re staying in a hotel. Milkshake was good.
Is it worth the money? No
G. 1.
After a long day shopping in Manchester Archie's made my day, ordered a good Burger meal plus million dollar milkshake the burger was lovely and curly fries were yummy Milkshake was spot on couldn't anything with service or food value for money really filling
m. h.
You are very lucky if you're staying at the Holiday Inn express on Oxford Road Manchester cause archives is a 1min walk away! Better than 5 guys! And get the Jersey wings! Wish this place was in slough!
S.
Place is kicking with great food and amazing shakes yum.
J. G.
We went there soon after opening at 12 o'clock and were the principal individuals to arrange. Stood by a significant long an ideal opportunity for the request to be prepared, and a many individuals has came meanwhile. It's a particularly bustling spot. However, despite the fact that we stood by long, it was great. Incredible burger and chips, macintosh and cheddar chomps certainly worth difficult! Also, enormous in addition to that all Archie's are serving halal meat! Tasty and reasonable costs, certainly suggest.
H. S.
Best milkshake about. Only place that manages to actually blend the chocolate's/biscuits in with the ice cream.
Burger is great too, holds together well even with a lot of filling.
A bit pricy but worth it.
G. M.
As someone who has eaten, thrown up, collected a delivery and have waited for 20mins for a single order. I am very opiniated about this place. It has gone from a 'smashed burger haven' to a fast food joint worthy of its reputation. I only gave it 3 stars, as they now care more about their income than their food. Sometimes bland, sometimes raw. And their staff.....ALWAYS rude. It doesn't matter if you're their for a quick meal or a takeaway, the staff will behave like robots and give you a few fave smiles. Right during and after covid. The security has not only been Lax, but rude and obnoxious too. If you want to spend £15 on a average burger and fries. I'd recommend to go to five guys. If you want a proper "smashed burger, for a normal price. I'd recommend to look elsewhere. Used to be 4.5 out of 5. Now barely deserves 3. I know they have celebrities on their windows. Which is the reason they're so big headed. Need to learn to humble yourself and concentrate on food. As that's what we foodies look at first. Followed by manners and graces. Hence -2.2 stars. 2.8 out of 5
C. R.
Absolutely brilliant food , best burgers in Manchester by far . Burgers big ,juicy with fresh tomatoes ,soft bread. We had chilli chips with our burgers great accompaniment, to wash down our Burgers we both had milkshakes. This place is efficient ,the place was very very busy yet still managed to get our food out to us in a very credible 16 mins . This is our second visit and now we have moved around the corner we will be going much more . Don't be put off by what look at 1st glance high prices , it's worth it . If price is your driving factor don't bother if it's quality get yourself there immediately
a. ѕ. q.
Halal, delicious, tasty, fresh and fast service. What more to say!
m. l.
Been a few times. Usually a really good experience. Excellent food. But Unfortunately this time it just seemed the staff couldn't cope with the rush . Food didn't taste as previously. Seemed rushed.
H. Z.
This is the best place for milkshakes. The food is good but sometimes the burgers can be a bit messy/sloppy. The food usually comes faster then the shakes because of how popular they are. The only issue was that on weekends they are so busy that wait times can be around 45+ min for food and on top of that about 15-30 min waiting in line! I recommend ordering online on there website for collection before arriving.
M. A.
The best milkshake I’ve ever had “Million dollar milkshake” totally worth it! 😍😍😍
Burger is good too.
M. S.
Good food, always crowded, have a discount for students. Prices are still a little high. They also took a very long time to make the order on my last visit.
M. K.
Food’s really nice, but it took over 20 minutes to get my order ready for 2 “The Daddy” burgers, 2 canned drinks, 2 chips and chicken strips.
S. S.
Nice food but wait is too long although had only 2 customers ahead of me. Looks like it is their strategy to seve slow so the place always looks crowded.
M. A.
I like the soft ice cream it is full of flavor and actually you can taste the vanilla flavor more than the diary and milky flavor which is usually the case with most of soft ice creams . It is also a good portion for the price! I just love it. The popcorn chicken are good snack as well!
M. O.
Great shakes and burgers and waffles, certainly fattening, and maybe a good idea to share with friends. Great atmosphere though, would absolutely recommend as a hang out spot!
A. W.
Terrible. Burgers are presented in a way that looks like the cook sat on them. And then wrapped in packaging like a 5 year old.
Doesn’t serve plates, and puts everything in paper bags that takes up so much space when sitting down.
Drinks are too fizzy. Can barely taste any sweetness in them. Terrible customer service.
Go to the other Archies, I’m told they’re far better.
I. M.
Had couple of pizza s 🍕with my family,Good pizza & value for money.
M. Z.
Archive's Oxford Road Manchester is always very busy with long waiting and queue outside specially during weekends. The staff some times is nice and sometimes very rude, specially couple of guys, one manager and other are security guys. Can understand during busy hours and load of customers it's stressful to work but this doesn't means you don't have to provide good customers service.
A. L.
Food was good but the toilet was very dirty and wet. Did make a point of this through the Archie's email and was acknowledged but rightly so was asked for further details such as time, date, and more and unfortunately I had not made a reference of this.
However, Ali who served me at the counter was very helpful and accommodated me and my family with being approachable and with humour.
S. S.
Beautiful cafe.. good price.. good food ! I love it !! 😍
A.
I only had the milkshakes from here but it’s fair to say they’re not the best and by no means bad. They do a good milkshake but not good enough to make a trip and buy more and experiment the other food on the menu.
One thing that stood out was that they have a nice seating area, full of booths so a great place to dine in.
J. S.
I was served by Dec on the 22/08/2021 and his service was outstanding. He was polite, friendly and extremely efficient. Would definitely come back knowing Dec’s standard of service. He was exceptional and is a real asset to Archies. He also deserves a big pay rise for his amazing work.
A. M.
One of the best burgers I've ever had
I. K.
Tried the Superstar burger set, the beef patties were very juicy and well-made. The remaining components, however, were found to be quite plain and wasn't anything worth getting excited over - just lettuce and tomatoes. Would be great if they could include more creative components. Also, the opening hours was clearly 11 am but the staff just asked us wait outside in the rain until it was 15-20 minutes past 11
I. H.
The burgers are amazing, definitely need to try this if you're in Manchester. The only thing letting them down is how long it takes for the food to come.
M. K. M. R.
Average food. Overpriced
Can't see what the hype is about
a. a.
One of the best burgers I've ever had. The meat just melts in your mouth. I loved the texture and taste of the burger so much, I just had to get a second one. I highly recommend this place to any burger lover.
Their milkshakes are truly delicious too!!
A. A. H.
Awesome food and friendly staff. Try the million dollar milk shake and relish your life
J. J.
Fantastic place. Great to eat in or to take out, especially if just grabbing a milkshake or wanting something more substantial. The food is of good quality and a higher bracket than typical fast food. As a result the prices do reflect this.
Different but enjoyable atmosphere and decor.
The staff every time have been very friendly and pleasant. Helpful and a nice interaction.
A. P.
Dirty Burgers and shakes , including the Black burger bun made using activated charcoal
A. c.
Delicious burgers and milkshakes.
But regretfully must say the dinning area and tables need to be cleaned constantly.
N. A.
Great food & milkshakes, however, they were not allowing seating and I found it overpriced
S.
Deserts are perfect and filling but I found the rest of the menu to be average. Will give it another try.
M. B.
Thought it was going to be all hype because celebs love it there but it really delivered, best chicken burger I've ever eaten, had the Nashville which was hot and spicy, tasted very different
M. M.
great little takeaway which got alot of buzz and popularity over the years from very well known celebrities, the first time i visited this takeaway was back in 2014 when it wasn't so popular and i thought the food was delicious, however a little bit pricey compared to other takeaways but on the other hand the taste is so much better than any other I've tried before. not really fan of desserts
A. M.
Lotus biscof was amazing love this shake so much. I would come back again and try its other menu. Recommended if you are around in town!
E. C.
Food is great as usual - milkshakes are incredible. The staff there were kind and patient as we took our time picking our milkshake options so hats off to them. My main gripe is with the cleanliness of the inside seating areas, it definitely needs a revamp..or even a wipe down!
K.
Burgers are all a bit similar and not particularly distinctive (they use premade patties) but taste quite good.
The shakes and treats are excellent.
The service however is quite slow. I think they could reduce the queue by putting a menu on the wall outside or on the window as there is only one on the wall and ones you have to reach out for.
S. D.
Unreal food and reasonably priced! Will return when I'm.in Manchester again
E. B.
Great food but the place is insanely busy! Be prepared to queue and wait! Friendly staff. For food that is pretty expensive, it is annoying that they charge 25p for card payment. The cost of a burger easily covers that charge. Especially with the amount of transactions going through, they would be able afford to cover that. It would be understandable if they charged 25p for any purchases under £5.
A. F.
milk shakes are the best around. taste every flavor the description states. come here regularly and dont intend to stop any time soon. only thing that could change is a bigger working area for staff as it can get very busy and become over crowded. however, they do prepare the food in a relatively fast time in busy hours.
R. L.
Ordered a route 66 burger and was cooked beautifully, fries where done to perfection and the pricing was unbelivably reasonable. All the staff are very friendly. Sadly some tables where not the cleanest but in fairness it was very busy. Overall really nice burgers and would recommend to anyone. Suitable for Halal dietry.
H.
Fantastic burgers, portion sizes are very decent & filling. Milkshakes are out of this world. 10/10 😍 Service was quick even tho it is very busy here!
F. B.
A very good place to spend with family.
O. C.
Yummy but during late nights it can get busy
M. A.
The peri peri chicken burger was fairly good; tasted good but was just a bit simple. They do 10% off student discount which is nice and have good seating arrangements. The shakes were amazing no questions about that. Would've liked table service as I'd pretty much forgotten my order by the time I'd got to the till and it was my time to order.
R. A.
Famous for its shakes...and they are good. Although they have now become a little pricey considering its a take away. The daddy burger is nice, but again the prices are becoming steep. Layout is nice...noon lights and pink seating - somehow works
T. K.
Very good food and atmosphere, nice employees.
S.
Great food and shakes, however the queue on a Thursday night Friday morning at 00:00 was far too long. 30 minute wait in the rain... 😢
Y. A.
Ques moved very quickly and food was good.. portions on the smaller side even for a large and ice cream in cone is not a cone in a tub according to them they have never ever sold cones which didn't make any sense.. overall good experience will i be craving for it anytime soon??. No its once you've had it its done on to the next venture
O. H.
My sister who lives in Manchester recommended it after our visit to a drag show. It was nice but this branch was rather busy so the timing could be better. Lots of staff and they were all busy. One of the ladies at the desk was always friendly to each customer which is nice to see.
N. G.
It was amazing! 100% will come again. The food was fresh and filling and the wait was not very long at all. Went for the first time with family, everyone loved it. Will recommend for friends and family and has very spacious seating area. I heard it gets really busy in evenings and have to wait for long time, but not around lunchtimes. The staff is very pleasant and welcoming. As said before, will definitely come again!
I. M.
The food is always great, the burgers, wings, waffles all great. My issue is the waiting time, it can put you off. Eventually when you get seated, it takes a while to get your food, staff not really sure of the table numbes and they walk around shouting the order. Best thing is grab the food and eat out.
S. A.
One of the best halal American Diner in Manchester. Mid-range price, great burger and dessert.
J. R.
Archie's is good but not consistently good. Compared to other places like burger and co which is cheaper I find that they are stingy with the amount of sauce. The nashville chicken burger is always 10/10.
R. L.
Absolutely fabulous food was quite good and service was exceptional
M. S. M.
Great place for American diner style burgers and shakes. Atmosphere is always great. Prices are relatively cheap. Food good enough. Very tacky seating though, and often you'll feel cold because of the draughts. Always very busy, so hard to get anyone's attention. Clientele-wise: it's always full of students! (Obviously, it's opposite a university!). Parking is rather tricky, unless you really know the area. Try to find a spot on the road behind the building.
K. A. K.
Delicious food & good service. A wide range of options avaliable. Very friendly service by Sharon.
a.
I love Archies food, their shakes are amazing, best I've had in fact, the cheesy fries are delicious and the burgers are gorgeous. The staff are quick and efficient. I have been a few times and it is always really busy but I have never had to wait long. Would definitely recommend this place
R.
Good burgers nothing too astonishing, not very comfy to sit inside so prolly better to takeaway and chill
M.
First time trying Archies, i had the chicken cheetos burger, hot cheese fries and the millionaire milkshake.
The fries were OK, not spicy at all, just cheesy.
The burger was a 8/10. Patty is too small, be prepared to eat messy.
The milkshake was AMAZING. I highly recommend the 'millionaire milkshake'.
B. B.
My favourite burger in Manchester
You should definitely tried it
C. H.
The ice cream cone was cheap and yummy--within £3. The place was noisy but was not dirty. The menu was confusing because I did not know if the options of 'topping' are for the ice cream or other food, nor did the staff know. I did not like the wrap because it was too salty.
G. P.
So chuffed there's another place like Five Guys, but a bit cheaper!!! Took boyfriend's nephews, 10 and 7, my sister's daughter, 4, and my stepbrother and stepsister, 13 and 8. All ordered more or less the same, came quickly and was hot. Desserts were large. Staff dead helpful, friendly. Will be back with the rest of the brood.
M. A.
Amazing food 😍 I really liked their Beef Superstar and their Chicken Texas Tornado. The meat and chicken are cooked perfectly. I also tried their Princess Pia Mia milkshake and it was amazing. Unfortunately, I only took a photo of the chicken sandwich
A.
Busy, people had to wait outside fair enough for take out, the guys at the door had a facemask on his chin, mouth totally exposed. Everyone inside had no masks staff or customers. The guy making waffles, wasnt wearing gloves .
Shakes tasted nice though
N. R.
Nice place and there is so yummy different burger recipes .
H. V.
Big fan of Archie's go all the time, but this time 2 burgers missing from my order. The place was mega busy and looked hectic. Won't stop be going as their food and shakes always hit the spot.
K. C.
Great staff and quick service food absolutely delicious the chilli burger being my recommendation I would go everyday if I could afford it 😂
H. K.
Amazing place for burgers and milkshakes, something different compared to normal UK fast food
Pros: student friendly (10% discounts), instagram friendly, customer service is on point and helpful plus the food is very tasty
Cons: milkshakes can be too thick and so you have to ask them to mix it again which take another few mins
T. T.
My first Archie’s and a fantastic experience. The food is so yummy and modelled on a typical American Fast Food structure. Will definitely be coming here again once I move to Manchester in a few weeks time
H. J.
The burgers are okay - nothing special, milkshakes are the best in the business. I find them too overpriced, for the food they serve. Also a very busy place
J. N.
One of the top burger spots in Manchester.
Decent portion size and good flavour. I recommend people to try this place.
G. V.
I was expecting a chunky homemade burger but I got a flat rustic look patty. Blink and you could miss it. At this point can't tell whether it was tasty or I was just hungry.
It was also very cold in the seating area at the front of shop. 🤔😑😐
H. F.
My most favourite place to go in Uni Break time for lunch. They have 10% student discount too. But you need to bring your Student Card for it. Awesome place to sit and chat with friends. Quality food with huge variety.❤❤❤ Im on the left with my Uni friends on the right. Its a normal lunch break.😋😋😋
J. M.
Nice lovely burgers. Not the cheapest but consistently great! Vibe is great and is available late night.
B. A.
Had the black burger doubled up. It was really quite nice. The burger was seasoned well and was juicy and flavoursom.
Opted for curly fries as I've always liked them, though the portion is a bit on the small side.
All in all its a good burger I would stay away from the classic burgers and stick to the all star ones as the classic are the frozen ones.
I would definitely go again but the only thing thats a little off putting is the price is a bit high for cheese burgers. But they tasty so... yeah just get one in ur belly.
R. T.
Never order from online. Not only is the quality of their deserts no where near as they are In store. They also jack up the price of everything so by the time you'd usually spend a fiver for a meal you are instead paying a tenner with a 3.50 delivery placed on top of it.
2.50 for a coke is the most ridiculous thing I've seen. A very greedy business.
A. F.
One of the best chicken burger meals I've had in a long time. Went for the deluxe chicken burger were you get an hash brown on top, as well as lettuce and mayonnaise that is. Choice of curly fries topped it off perfectly.
H. B.
One of my go-to places to eat in Manchester. I have yet to be able to criticise here as every meal I have had has been beautifully made and served it's almost impossible to say anything negative! I don't necessarily have a specific recommendation as I enjoyed every meal although I normally go for the burgers as they definitely do not disappoint. Would highly recommend trying this place!
M. s.
I normally do not write reviews however I do value great customer service and having worked customer service myself, I know how sometimes workers need to know they made someone's experience special. I visited the store this afternoon and would like to thank in particular Lena and Elisa that gave me great suggestion on their menu, i have really specific tastes and the food they suggested me was absolutely delicious. I recommend this place for the food and very friendly and helpful staff
F. M.
The girl at the till was not great. She was ok just not great maybe she was having an off day but it was the first time I tried Archies so not a good first impression. The Lotus shake was good. I will visit again.
M.
Initially reticent to pay a bit more for a burger with McDonalds only 2 mins walk away, I decided to give Archie’s a try.
So glad I did !! The burger was one of the tastiest I have ever had. Sadly, I’m not in Manchester very often. But when I’m next in town I will look forward to another one, with a shake next time.
Great product guys !
I. H.
Forgot, then took ages to bring my milkshake, but bang on mate.
D. D.
Archie's is a small American style diner, popular with a younger crown especially in this location near the Universities. The food is pretty good and reasonably priced. There are a lot of themed burgers and shakes to choose from. Makes for a very good pit-stop on a big night out.
M. A.
Food is tasty, staff very friendly, didn't get a chance to dine in. But feel like its very overrated. Chicken wrao tastes like a normal chicken wrap nothing too special
S. H.
The worst archies in Manchester. The lady was quite rude and abrupt who I was served by and when I got my food, I got given the wrong burger. The man that dealt with the matter was polite however, the chef claimed that this is the burger that I ordered. Food didn't taste like an archies meal usually tastes like. Would only recommend to go there if in a rush or want to grab a quick bite.
D. W.
Credit where credit is due, if there was a problem with ordering then the staff took the time to go through each part with us enabling the nephews to have the perfect dessert for their birthday. Tables were clean, floor was tidy, great designs and a place where are already planning on returning to. Cheers guys 👍🏼
s. a.
I thought it was overrated and overpriced at first. But over time I've tried different things and found their wings to be the best around. Burgers top tier as well. Glad they're opening one in arndale, hope they're making it big enough, they'll defo have queues around lunch time.
n. b.
It's very pink. Get sat at a table then que up with carry out customers then get table service. The burgers are nice the frys average minus. It's on the expensive side for what it is and the service charge is poor even McDs do table service nowdays.
B. 1.
Daddy burger always my personal favourite 😋
S. B.
A good choice for quick bite foods, tasty desserts and long list of mouth watering millk shakes and Waffle treats. Customer service is good, be careful to park your car in designated area and not park on the main road to receive a quick parking attendant to a parking ticket. Go and enjoy some nice foods ...
M. K.
Had a wknd away in Stockport and travelled to Mancs just for Archies after the rave reviews from The Road Raptors (check them out on Insta road_raptors and on Twitter @RoadRaptors) and this place didnt disappoint! It's all about the burgers in this place. Umm ummm ummmmmmmmmm!
Went at 1pm and very busy at the time. Rammed, people queuing up outside to get in,(always a good sign). But once ordered got my food in 15mins!
Ordered the daddy burger and cheetos burger with crinkled cheesy fries. I loved the food! "Yummy yummy yummy"
If you like good burgers, good crinkled fries and good milkshakes. This is the place for you! It's a must!
M. M.
Well milkshakes are nice but quite expensive (around £5). Burgers is a bit small but enough to fill up. Discounts available for student (10%). Around 10 mins walk from deansgate tram station. I ordered peri burger which is £4.25. It is nice but not very great.
S.
Thank you for sorting my order out, your customer service is really good on time thank you for my dessert strawberry dessert I have been here for the first time I recommend it to anyone it's in Manchester I came all-over from Oldham 😊
S. A.
Yummy milkshake but over priced compared to Frangos in Handforth you pay less for large glass for £4.
Also i did order online i didn't get any discount Archies 🙃 for using online service.
A. A.
Went in after hearing about their milkshakes and how nothing in West Yorkshire (where im from) can come close - and we have some decent places across Dewsbury/Leeds/Huddersfield/Bradgord.
Anyway ordered a hotdog and milkshake. I was looking forward to the shake but the hot dog blew my mind! Ordered a second to take home. Milkshake was decent too
P. H.
Great milkshakes, however the prices just keep going up and up. The price of milkshakes were just about worth it when they started almost 10 years ago. Plus they also STILL charge for credit card charges, in 2018 that is a joke, especially considering the insane amount of money they make from the brand.
Oh and the food, I'd rather have any of the Rustlers microwave burgers than Archies food which basically tastes like re-cooked frozen food from Tesco except at a 300% markup
J. H.
Food was good but wouldn’t recommend the boohooMAN burger has it has turned my poo green 🤣 and I mean bright green I nearly had a heart attack
L. S.
Ordered over Uber food was great but didn’t receive the milkshake I ordered
F.
This place is mental!!!!!!! So many options!!!! My fave is the peri wrap burger but there are loads of different flavours and types to choose from! And the milkshakes are niceeee!! My best one so far is the classic “million dollar” shake and I recommend this place to anyone looking for quick bite & shake to eat and drink!! There’s now two Archie’s not too far apart and both are as good, never really had an issue with taste both food and drink!
I. M.
one of my favourite places specially after a party or stressful day but its cold, wooden benches-chairs are veery uncomfortable specially for skinny people like myself. Also its a bit confusing, you get in and have to order out of the blue, well not me but when I take friends they are lost and the menus are on the counter where u order, so not got a chance to really look through it specially that its always busy and you don’t wanna keep people queuing behind you. I wish they had simple hot drinks too like tea or coffee, Ive been asking and unsuccessful in getting any :) , it goes well with a waffle 😜
R. I.
Food was OK. Service was appalling. Other orders came and went, we waited over half an hour for 2 meals!
M. S.
Any and all of the menu is banging, honestly nothing is bad or tasteless, everything been really well thought out. Love the decor and the theme, really compliments the food.
C. G.
Love it, great food and so many options for people with different dietary requirements. Definitely going again soon :)
T. O. M.
Best burger ive ever had (cheesey cheetos chicken burger) milkshakes were good but a little too thick for me and the cheesey tater tots were good but didn't realise how many you'd get, easily shareable between 2 people... bit pricey but worth it every now and again
t. a.
I don't usually write reviews, but honestly I've only tried it once yet and I definitely goes to my top list of favourite restaurants. Absolutely loved the quality of the burgers.
H. H.
Always come to Archie’s whenever I am in Manchester but this time it was a bad bad experience. Burger was really undercooked all around edges and centre, and was told it is the way it comes. Really? I have had enough burgers To know that’s not how it is. Also overcharged is at the beginning when placing the order. Staff made a face I requested a fresh burger. Issue was resolved in the end.
S. G.
Been past it a few times usually a queue nice food but Expensive £7.49 for a burger no fries
A. M.
Archie's is by far the best burger joint for people who craves for halal McDonald's big Mac. So much flavour to their burger and milk shake is to die for. Highly recommended.
K. Z.
Overpriced Expensive and Overstated - Shocking !!! Nothing Special. Just a hangout for Students Ohh and the Millionaire Celebs who probably view it as a cheap hangout. The burger size and fries portion were small including the drinks. Place was full and queuing with students . Sorry, not for me.
m. w.
Excellent food, highly recommended, place could use a clean though
J. P.
Excellent burgers but they need to make the menu more extensive
R.
Food was okay, nothing special however the toilets are absolutely disgusting. Water and God knows what else as well as hairs 😳 would only return for a pickup next time
M. I.
Good place for a quick bite, unfortunately the quality of the meat in the cheese burgers seems to have decreased over the last couple of years. I'd recommend the cheetos burger (chicken) With curly fries also the moonwalker milkshake is amazing.
E. G.
Great place to try with family/friends. Million dollar shake is my personal favourite from here along with their lamb chargrilled burger its a treat.
K. U.
Best burgers I think I have ever eaten. Huge range of all different ideas of burgers. Milkshakes are something else. Oreo is my personal favourite. Would 100% recommend
B. B.
Nice fresh food, burgers taste real good. Milkshakes are also very nice.
At a good location, right next to University and city centre.
Finding a parking is bit of a nightmare
A. S.
Curly Fries!!!
I had never tasted curly fries before here and now I'm addicted to them!!
They also have a lot of milkshake options or you can build your own
Everyone can surely find something for themselves!
Being a vegetarian (No egg either) I didn't get a lot of options but the ones available are also enough!
N. N.
Got the cheetos burger, it was fresh however they could put a few more cheetos in it. the pink lemonade was nice.
S. M.
Wow! Got a double patty with Turkey rashers bbq sauce and mushrooms, no words. Still salivating. Bbq wings were OK too
M. C.
Gets very busy. Typical burger/ shake shack. Their milkshakes are amazing.
Meals are ok, very overpriced but good alternative to other fast food places. This particular Archies has seating downstairs.
I. A.
Nice burger but cheap patty like you get at your local take away for a pound. Use to be good meat now it's fake meat. V dissapointed. Sorry I didn't wanna leave this review. Only thing saving the burger was the bacon & nice salad inside the bun. Use to be manchester's premier halal burger
m. R.
Disappointed with the desserts as visiting after 2 years. They use to do a larger selection of desserts and the ice cream cones for kids were very cheap ice cream, not impressed with the desserts and the amount I paid.
S. N. S.
Love the shakes! Burgers are good too.
S. A.
Superb, The burgers were delicious & so were the Waffles
S. J.
Great burgers, fries and shakes. Burger perfectly cooked (could use a bit extra ketchup depending on how you like it). Chili fries were good, shake awesome. Great service too.
M. A. U. R.
Great food amazing place
A. Q.
Awesome milkshakes. Expensive but good.
C.
The wraps here are great, however I look very strange going into the fast food joint as the theme is BRIGHT PINK. so I do suggest getting uber eats unless you're okay with Chavs judging how gay you presumably are.
a. g.
fish burger was delightful as always could of been abit more onion... we had the banana chocolate waffle with ice cream the waffle was tasty and soft but lacked chocolate as it was on the top of the lid when it came and it wasn’t much chocolate on atall...
S. R.
The burger's are honestly amazing, get a milkshake as well the combination goes perfect together. I got chilli cheese fries on the side which were great too.
A. C.
We went today for lunch and the burgers we tried were average at best (The Daddy and the Good Burger). I might come back to try some shakes but I don´t think I´ll eat burgers there again. Personnel was nice and the place was clean.
A. C.
food is too hyped. you'd think paying a fiver for a waffle dessert you're gonna get suttin of good standard, but the waffle was dryyy, put the Nutella on like fairies like come on a fiver and im getting done dirt like that. Burgers are good ngl but the pricing and that ain't too niced
i. (.
I remember working with Archie's when it first opened.. So happy they are getting big.. They got everything top burgers "big daddy" is the one and milkshakes.. Would have given 5 stars but the sit down restaurant in Manchester has this very loud and disturbing noise coming from the AC!
h.
Nice food but was informed it's been changed a bit since its original inception. Still nice, slightly overpriced with slightly erratic service on a busy night.
L. I.
Lemon and herb sliders were REALLY spicy which I didn't expect. Complained to be told there was no chilli in them. I could see it!
This was my third visit so disappointed as I have enjoyed previous meals.
I.
The milkshakes from there are amazing! Some of the best going. The burgers are fantastic however the fries are just average, could do with some better fries to get that 5 star.
L. W.
First time going customer service from the lady serving was alright when I asked what she’d recommend didn’t really give any good advice, also first time customer I didn’t know how the seating area works, food was good although the hot as hell burger wasn’t very spicy. However it’s very clean and great place to take pictures. Will look forward to going to you guys
R. K.
Very average food, great options though, and they offer a wide variety of different items on their menu like waffles, milkshake, and great burgers. Would recommend if you're looking for something good and fast.
A. R.
It's primarily for deserts. If you get a desert you will enjoy it. However the food is also decent...If you don't get food poisoning it's like a 50-50 chance. The deserts are good but are over priced and over hyped so caution is advised.
D. S.
Really good service! Food is fairly priced and delicious. Milkshakes are very nice with a good selection to choose from.
H. S.
Expect at least a 20-30 min wait for any food drinks... Other than that the food is brilliant
A. S.
I went for the big double patty burger, peri fries and coke...the services was good...food was brought out to me which is nice...
The burger was juicy and tender and didnt have the meaty smell! Cheese was melting hot and the hot sauce was spicy which i liked..
Fries were standard...with peri peri salt..
Great burger house next time i will stay for dessert!! Great prices to...
D. Y.
Massively over rated, burger was nice, chips horrible, small portions expensive , ate with two friends food came at all differnt times, the sides of chicken bites and wings were horrible, milkshakes were amazing though
A. L.
Ok so, I gotta clarify one thing. Archie's isn't gonna change your world when you eat it but it will save you some cash if you're looking for a burger. It's halal so you're not going to have to worry abt not being able to eat the food there. There's two on Oxford Street, one nearer to the theatre which is always packed during lunch time and one nearer to the university. Go to the latter one if you don't want to get caught in the lunch rush
S.
Food is always lovely and consistent. However, the downstairs is really filthy, needs a good clean. Very off putting when eating in.
R. 4.
Amazing burgers - beautifully crafted. Would reccomend Texas Tornado, and Nashville Chicken n fries. The milkshakes here are an excellent option for dessert - would reccomend the ‘Amir Khan’.
A. I.
The food was oh tooo good. But I think customer service could be way better.
A. M.
jason served me he was so nice and friendly i really liked the service so amazing such a good worker wow jason is great give him a pay rise he deserves it he made me want to come back everyday
A. K.
Simply the best burger in town! I don't live in Manchester anymore, but I wish I did, so I could go to Archies everyday. Lwent yesterday and today. Awesome food/staff/service.
H.
Decent milkshakes and burgers but the crinkle chips are so lacking even with the cheese as not enough cheese for the chips
S. M.
Most of the staff were very good, one chap was less than happy and he let me and my friend know and when you spend £15 on two shakes you could at least smile
S. T.
Excellent American style diner at good prices. 10% off student discount available. Seems to be popular with local university students, so that's the crowd you'll bump into.
N. M.
Very long wait for eating out, even though the place was not busy ( no one in line for ordering and only 3 waiting for eating out, plus there were few people eating in). But the food is tasty.
A. “. M.
Best burgers and shakes around
Z. A.
One of the best burgers I have ever had. I will definitely go again and again.
I. r.
Not bad food, but the price was high. I was charged £18 for a burger, since special fries covered on cheese and chilli con Carni, and a lovely small million dollar milkshake
d.
Busy as always because it’s top notch.
Portuguese burger and extra thick Oreo milkshake sets the journey back to Birmingham with ease “
R. 0.
Took my daughters here for a milkshake. Ordered two lots of fries, a pink sundae which was filled with small pieces of strawberries and banana with whipped cream and ice cream, an oreolicious milkshake and a banana split explosion, which was a decent size for the price. We shared a bit of everything and really enjoyed it. We will definitely be visiting again.
F. A.
The Mighty Joe is more of a Puny Joe in size; other then that it tastes good. The large drinks are also not very large more of a medium size. Food is good but Archies seems to skimp on size. Staff are good; friendly and helpful.
Atmosphere is easy with chouce of boths or tables for seating.
Downside: the facilties groundfloor toilet was out of order had to use the one in the basement. However, there was no running water in the tap! Bathroom was dirty not all impressed by their hygiene.
M. J.
One of the best burgers i have had! Awesome milkshakes too especially the "Holy oaks"
M. Z.
Some of its milkshake combos are nice not a great fan of the food.. Looks always busy but I think that's due to their slow service. Overall ok.
I. A.
Best American diner experience ever coupled with there unique shakes and dunking waffles. Something to try at least once in your life.
k. k.
no hand sanitizer no hand wipes music blaring inside like a club. food was decent and fresh not the best fast food experience
M. M.
Awesome place really attractive and food is really good.the burgers and milkshake are fabulous.
S. A.
Chill atmosphere the food was nice but nothing too special , would still reccomend as there is a large variety of shakes and I still need to try them all
N. F.
Clean, fast service, friendly and efficient staff. Burgers are great, milkshakes fantastic! Value for money.
K. M.
Thoroughly enjoyed eating here. Food is always nice. Shakes are the highlight. A little too busy but can usually find a seat.
E. A.
Whenever I’m in Manchester I always end up in Archies for a milkshake before driving back home. The million dollar shake lives up to its name. The food at Archies is consistently good. I usually order The Daddy Burger meal which hasbeef, Peri chicken and halal turkey Bacon and is always 100. The only thing I would say for personal preference is that i would like if they did chilli and mint sauce to go with the fries.
O. W.
It was decent food for what you pay however the service wasn't exactly fast.
N. A.
Visited Archie's @ the Arndale Centre Branch on Tuesday 17th December 2019 and was served by Ibrahim, who was very helpful, he provided good customer service, as i was ordering for 15 staff members. I would also like to mention another staff member called Raj, who also helped get my order ready, food was nice and staff members have sent there many thanks to Archie's, Ibrahim and Raj.
H. 2.
Good variety ofAuthentic burgers tastes spot on try the BLK
J. R. (.
One of the great burgers in Manchester and we'll priced £8.99 meal. sadly let down by staff members who don't even try and hide the fact that they don't want to be there.
E. M.
Great burgers! Almost unbeatable! Milkshakes and desserts are great too. Service is always good, even when crazy busy
S. M.
Oh how I love Archie’s! Love the food, service is brilliant, staff are really friendly, the atmosphere is chilling! What more can one ask for!! Will never stop going Archie’s ❤️
A. Y.
Great shakes and burgers. Always thick and always consistent. Sometimes waiting super long but that’s only because they are so busy.
N. A.
Good service and staff, burgers were kind of salty to me but maybe it’s just my opinion , tried it in two places , tried chicken burger and beef one both were too salty for me
S. Y.
My visit to archies on a Saturday night was not exactly perfect... Can appreciate the fact that it's in an area with students so can be hands on but the service I received was below standard in the respect that we had gone as a group and everybody got their orders staggered with one myself getting my order right at the end when the rest of the group was done ... I personally felt this spoilt the whole experience... cleanliness wasn't 100 percent ... staff other than one or 2 were ignorant and not very attentive but on the plus side the security guard was great so there is a plus side to it all.. I wouldn't rule this place out if your in the locality but can only say that you have many better options and service available elsewhere so don't go way out for this place... the deserts itself were average so can't say they was special or anything out of the ordinary compared to other places
I. A.
Rating is solely attributed to the milkshakes. You cannot beat them they have the best milkshakes ever. Food is alright, however it is improving.
M. W.
Tasty burgers but they are a bit small. Fries looks more like scraps of fries, but again tasty. And they don’t provide ice for drinks ?!
S. C.
Have 4 stars because the waiting time is ridiculous. I love the banana milkshake from Archie's and the sweet potatoes fries. Would give 5 stars if waiting time is reduced.
S. H.
Waffle was great but too sweet for my taste.
p. j.
One of my all time fav milkshake places in UK. The billionaire shake and the oreollicious are both extra ordinary peace of art hard to replicate at home
I. A.
The food and desserts are good just need to co ordinate better as estimated waiting times are a joke and you have to wait a lot longer
K. P.
Shakes are lovely! My favourite million dollar :P
F. A.
I love this place...amazing food..not have enough parking but you can manage anywhere it.you must go there for enjoy their food..
D. B.
Eaten from two of they're Diners and it's really worth it.. could even beat five guys, Texas Tornado burger is So tasty.
1.
Very festive vibe in the night, and calmer during the day. The food is alright, nothing fantastic. I can't comment on the shakes just yet because I still have to try them.
J. K.
This place is busy! But by far the best milkshake when I come up to manchester. I always go for the Million Dollar Shake, definitely worth the trek.
M. A.
Amazing food brilliant service got the good burger with crinkle fries and some biscoff deserts 💯💯💯💯💯
N. I.
My nieces love Archies. Love the food here. Always busy and social. Good service too
J. K.
Very nice food, amazing milkshakes. Best place in Manchester for a burger and shake. Worth every penny.
One needs to open in Leeds !!!
R. T.
Quick service with very nice staff great to pop in for a quick bite or a hearty meal it has a variety of options and vegetarian options too would definitely recommend!
S. D.
Great service. Great food.
I. M.
Food was great as always, delivery took a little longer than usual but they did seem busy
M. P.
Great tasting food. Got my order slightly wrong but immediately switched it for the correct fries. Good customer service.
H. A.
One of the best burgers and curly fries in Manchester. The place serves halal food and there aren't many great halal burger options in Manchester. The shakes are quite famous too but its the burgers e.g. The Big Daddy, The Portabello etc that pull me to the place"
Z. S. (.
Food was really good and prices are quite reasonable. The food did take a little long for us and there was only one toilet which isn't great in an place that can seat quite a few people.
S. A. a.
Great food. Top halal fast food at manny. However line could get too long.
M.
🤤🤤 absolutely fit food and drinks. Lots of seating and free parking available behind archie’s. Prices are reasonable, actually quite a bargain for what you get. staff are nice and polite.
O. A.
Great food! Price is not too bad! Always very busy on the weekends so have a to wait a little.
M. A.
Cheetos chicken burger and milkshake tasted amazing, but the fried chicken tasted funny and there was a grey hair in my cheesy fries!
K. D.
The 'superstar' burger is amazing! And the atmosphere is fantastic! I will definitely visit again! Highly recommended!
T. A.
The milkshakes and the burger are really good along with the waffles. Took advantage of the Eat out too help out scheme.
B. S.
Basically I sat down and not only did they tell me to wait 25 minutes for a waffle like I ain't got stuff to do, there was a full ice cream on the table across from me that some random woman left and I was eyeing it up like get in my belly but the waiter came like a roaring bull and threw it all away and I was like Oh My Daaayyzz BUT other than that amazing place and I'd deffo recommend it
S. S.
Good tasty burgers and shakes
S. K.
I came a few days ago for some food, just wanted to leave a special praise for Michael as he was so patient with me and my extensive dietary requirements :) Thanks! p.s food was lovely
G. P.
I had a Phat burger with crinkle cut fries with cheese sauce. All was washed down with ice cold coke zero. Also I had a Amir Khan smootie.
S. S.
Loved it we got 4 burgers (1 without salad)
And 4 milkshakes I found it to be nice
I. K.
Best shakes and waffles!!
K. I.
My burger was missing half the things on it but it was okay, and my wings were forgottenz shame I came all way there and left with half my food but yeah the food is okay.
S. A. U.
Really good food and shakes, I'd suggest the nashville and also great service
K. s.
Love this place i would rather go here than pay £5 for kids meal at McDonald's you can make any burger a meal for around £1:50extra n get fries not drink staff are very sweet n more than happy to help booths are really nice funky place n hope to bump into the game or mayweather or sia as they all vist Manchester many branch really nice treat for the family there shakes smoothies and deserts are amazing and Value for money
E. M.
Really nice fast food, service is always on point, can never go wrong, also the milkshakes are the best in town
T. K.
The place was mega busy, food wasn't the best. My chicken burger wasnt cooked fully. Would recommend visiting elsewhere. Plenty other places in manchester to dine in.
A. K.
Best shakes and burgers in Manc. Make sure you order one of the more premium beef burgers though. The basic ones are cheaper, but you get what you pay for!
M.
5* experience every time i go. Never wait anymore than 5 minutes for usually quite large orders and the staff are very helpful, there's many choices and they don't attempt to rush you. If you've never been you should go, you'll love it!
b.
Crowded venue, pricy burger but not quite tasty and it takes a long time to get the food after order
M. J. A.
Only go for burgers. Halal.
Very noisy and a bit dirty.
Poor customer service and the shakes are just bad. Dont even try them.
n. j.
Good shakes, however there was only 2 people before me queuing, loads of them working and it still took nearly 20 minutes to get my shake. Very slow service.
