The food was excellent I had the Rump with chips and onion rings. The decor was fabulous toilets were clean, there are at least 2 Private rooms downstairs for parties and plenty of booths on ground level too. Although we waited a while for food to arrive I did enjoy the experience and will definately be going back.

Visited for my wifes birthday on the bottomless brunch deal. Very few highly rated restaurants do bottomless brunch during the week in the city centre. So we took a chance on this place as it was a great location and looked stunning inside. And we werent disappointed. You really get your moneys worth and the service and attentiveness is one of the best i have experienced. As a veteran of the hospitality industry for 20 years i can honestly say i was really impressed. Eleanor who served us and the guy who greeted us were fantastic! Never wanted for anything and wouldnt hesitate to come back or recommend to others. 10/10 all round.

We hired out The Root for a work event. I was very impressed with the venue decor, service and quality of food. When managing different pre-orders for a large group it can get very confusing but this venue was one of the best I've experienced at handling this well and everything went very smoothly! Surprised to see other reviews questioning the quality of the food as everyone enjoyed their meal and it felt very good value for money. I eat out a lot so I have high standards but this place surpassed my expectations. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a fun, not too loud and reasonably priced private dining space.

Although we were late, staff accommodated us fantastically. I am disabled and we were shown & escorted to the lift & disabled toilets. All the while Millie ensured other customers were not in our way or bumped into us. The service for drinks was quite slow, due to the number of people there, but the food was served more timely and more than made up for it. Special mention to Millie who made my experience so much better, and to Zack for keeping us entertained & allowing my sister a selfie.

I came here as part of a work event. Great location and atmosphere. The staff were brilliant, really attentive and knew how to deal with a medical emergency which occurred with one of our party. To top it off the food was really impressive and I’d definitely recommend it to others! Well done Banyan team!

Great bottomless brunch from start to finish drinks was always topped up !! Sometimes when you go to a brunch you wait ages for a top up but Amber was back and forth making sure our drinks was full. This wasn't my first visit to Banyan in Corn Exchange and definitely not the last either. The food is always good and so is the service. I always like the presentation of the food, too. Prices are reasonable and the menu have plenty to choose from.

Went for a two course meal (Banyan Dinner Club menu) with a friend on a Tuesday. We didn't book in advance but we still found tables available for dining. First impression was so-so, as we weren't greeted by any member of staff. After a few minutes, my friend and I decided to just grab a seat anywhere. Ten minutes later, we were directed to the restaurant area. The food actually came quite quickly, it tasted delicious and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Perfect for a 3 hour catch up! We also ordered Mocktails which were quite nice. Enjoyed the atmosphere and would come again, but one thing to point would be the improvement of the meet and greet by staff.

Great food in a very well presented bar / restaurant. Decorated in a modern style with exposed brickwork, pipework, fittings and large comfortable sofa seating. Good range of food available, at reasonable prices. Food took a little longer than we'd like to come, but the manager came over without any prompting to let us know there was a bit of a delay and offered a discount from our bill as an apology without us even asking. Fantastic service from friendly, attentive staff. Would highly recommend.

Tuckes away in Manchester, its well worth finding. Lovely interior and super friendly staff to greet you. There are so many lovely touches to improve your visit, its impossible to list them all. Cocktails and choice of beers and spirits is good, with offers on all week. Foodwise, its superb. I recommend you try the Chicken Schnitzel, prepared by Chef Cayman,, one of the tastiest i've had in the UK. Will definitely be returning ❤

Sunday roast was ok, but the service today was very slow getting food to the table. However, we were told without even complaining that they were giving us a discount. Worked out at around 25% discount. Staff are friendly and clearly the kitchen was having some issues today. Would go back to try some of the other menu options.

I’m rating this 3 stars because of the total faff we had around ordering our food and drinks. I know that the hospitality industry is short of staff and maybe this is why there were so few stuff and we had to order everything electronically. It really isn’t in the customers’ interest. Also, we had to wait ages for our order. My chicken skewer was okay but it wasn’t worth £14.50, I’m afraid. Quite a few things weren’t ordered because we didn’t know how to order them. The staff who were there were lovely, so no complaints about them at all. Won’t be back in a hurry, sadly.

Absolutely loved it here. Came with the girls for an afternoon brunch and had the best time. I cannot thank Dan (host at the entrance) enough for making us feel so welcome. He was extremely helpful in supporting us with the ordering on the app. Cocktails were lovely although sadly some of them (most of them) were pre-made and batched, as I was informed by the waitress, when I asked if the barmen could do it without a specific ingredient. The food was delicious and came out in great timing after order. Thanks!

Had the bottomless brunch here and it was absolutely LUSH! They adapted the brunch dish I chose perfectly for me by adding perfectly poached eggs and Heather, who was our server, was an absolute dream. She was so friendly and attentive, always asking us if we needed top ups, checking we were happy with our food and drinks and just generally all round lovely energy and very hospitable. We were never without a drink! Very much recommend and shout out to Heather for looking after us. We'll be back.

Great location especially if you sit outside. A little slow in coming to greet us but once seated we were fine. You order and pay on your phone. The only downside you have to order all at once or start again and you dont have an opportunity to ask for changes to your food order. Otherwise good atmosphere but can get quite busy as mainly it's a bar rather than a restaurant. It would be better if they reserved some tables for diners only.

The nice thing about this place is that the menu is really varied, so there's likely to be something to cater to all tastes. Unfortunately it's not very good. I ordered the chicken schnitzel and found it dry and overcooked, with a very sad side salad. The chips were nice. A good place for fussy eaters, but otherwise food is not very exciting.

The only problem is they have cocktail offers from 6pm every day so Saturday lunch time on a girls weekend we have to spend £10+ on a cocktail!

Went in for happy hour with 2 for 1 cocktails and decided to get food. Food was good but not great. Considering the price I would say okay. Cocktails too were disappointing. Very fruity and not so much alcohol. Depends on what floats your boat I suppose. I prefer to taste alcohol with a fruit twist. Cocktails are made from syrup. Staff were nice and friendly. I wouldn't go back. I'd look for somewhere else.

We love Baynay and always recommended this place to everyone but today they had a bit of a hic up. Asked for wine with ice ! No ice but when I asked they brought it. Ordered a beef roast dinner, it came with no Yorkshire pudding ! I asked and they brought it. Ordered a glass of wine it came with a glass full of food on it. I had a quick word with the manager and he deducted my pudding off the bill and gave us 4 tokens for 4 free drinks at our next visit. It won't stop us going back but they need to improve the service. The food overall was lovely. The manager apologised and all is well .

Yes, glad I called in. Very nice high chairs and tables backed by lovely comfy leather wall seats. Beer perfect (pale ale in bottles only) and the place was immaculate. Toilets were very clean. This visit is a very pleasant place to finish a hard slog around the shops.

Enjoyed the visit to this bar in Manchester, however, unfortunately, they received an average score on the following basis: 1. Price: Items are not cheap. In addition, a restaurant with the same 'food court' had closed down which implies that austerity is alive. 2. Service: The only way to order, was to walk to the bar and order. (I found this disappointing because my family and I walked around town all day and wanted to sit and relax and, be served.) Overall: Expected more. If management decrease price and increase customer service, you will be brilliant!!

This was my first time eating here and we sat outside. The food was nice (I had a burger), the cocktails came a little slow but were nice enough. What detracted was that we were bothered multiple times by people coming in and asking for money. It made it quite uncomfortable. Obviously this wouldn't happen if you were inside the building but I think if you're going to offer outdoor seating you should try and make their experience similar to those inside the restaurant especially when they are eating.

Went for the first time today for lunch (12:30), there was 7 of us. We were served promptly, everyone dishes came out swiftly and was absolutely delicious! I had a tia green curry, I was advised it would be spicy but it wasn’t too bad at all. We had a lovely lunch. My daughter and I ate at Banyan before going to see Catfish and the Bottlemen at the Arena. The food was nice and good value for money. Great service too. My only complaint would be that it was very cold. I sat with my jacket wrapped around my knees like an old lady! It wasn't just me either as I noticed a young girl nearby put her jacket back on. Nice bar selling good standard pub food. The décor is up market and the food is nicely presented. The drinks are quite expensive, which is to be expected from.bars in this area. Personally I'd recommend somewhere not as busy or expensive but if you need to be in this area,this is not a bad place to go. Fairly recently opened so the facilities are nice and clean. The place has a good atmosphere.

Great food and drink, with some more unique (and delicious) dishes on offer - was particularly impressed by the paleo menu. Staff were pleasant, atmosphere relaxed and the restaurant is very nicely presented. The only disappointment really is that you aren't informed of which dishes aren't available until you order. Had to ask for the lunch menu which was advertised on a billboard outside. We were asked "oh do you want the deal?" and it was reluctantly given. You really shouldn't have to ask. I was disappointed as my meal contained honey/sugar coated peanuts which was not described on the menu and in my opinion didn't add to the meal. I realise that the menu is subjective however at no point was our opinion sought even though it was evident that I had not eaten the peanuts . The service was good and the waiter personable.

On a trip to Manchester for a couple of days with hubby and friends....visited the Banyan for late lunch. Really lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, service was excellent and the food was delicious. We had the salmon taglatelle, Banyan burger and Indonesian chicken curry. All excellent, good size portions. Had cocktails too.....not bad price. All in all would recommend. Will visit again definitely . :-)

We had a not pleasant experience at our Xmas do at the one in Spinningfields. We complained to head office and they gave us our own private room, a meal upto the price we paid for the buffet and prosecco. They pulled out all the stops, food was fantastic as was the service. Just celebrated my daughter's 21st at Banyan Bar with family and her friends. All the staff looked after us making sure we had just the perfect night and we did. I would definitely recommend this has a venue from a special celebration to calling in for a great value meal.

Breakfast was really nice, I had the hash breakfast, which is poached eggs with sriracha sauce, chorizo, avocado, bacon and onions. Perhaps a little much for breakfast, but very good for a brunch. The service was very quick and friendly. The sun coming through the main window was welcoming too as it was freezing outside.

We went for a drink with friends and sat out in the sun. Handed cocktail menu and then no one came to take an order. After 20 minutes decided to go inside and order drinks ourselves. Waiting staff seemed more interested in making sure that people who were eating were sat on one side and those who weren't on the other. It was almost as though customers were split into first and second class. Those who were eating looked after those who weren't ignored. I noticed a couple of people being turned away because there was no space on the eating side which you could see was a source of annoyance as the tables reserved for drinkers were identical. It was almost as though they have decided they wanted to cut their nose to spite their face. Cocktails are not cheap and a few of those creates a larger bill than a set course lunch so why the segregation and difference in service.

Large terrace provides a nice place to relax and people-watch. We had to clear our own table and the empties we moved weren't collected over the 1 hour we were there. No staff attention at all to customers outside allowed the place to look unkempt and tables to stay unused despite demand given they weren't cleaned. No ales or kegs available.
