I came here with my friends and I’m so impressed! The customer service was great and the food was amazing. As we were a group of 5 we ordered quite a lot of things and shared it to have space and WOW the food exceeded my expectations. The quality of the food is definitely worth the price.

Just WOW!!! This place is absolutely amazing. From the atmosphere the staff and the food. It was absolutely amazing. The woman looking after us was really friendly and gave us recommendations that didn't disappoint. The food was something else. I've never had a steak like it. Definitely worth a visit if you're near. I'd highly recommend booking a table.

Been here a few times service and food is always on point and secure parking round the corner from the venue. This occasion we sat in the private area, the dining table is located behind glass doors and windows where the wines are stored (beautiful setup), its not isolating either as you can see out onto the dining floor. I was worried as I thought the waiter may forget to check up on us as we we're out of sight; so to speak, but he was so attentive. The food was beautiful and cooked to perfection, only issue with food was the mushrooms, as a side dish you'd expect a small bowl but we received literally two mushrooms (white plate) however they were really tasty, I'd order them again. 5 out of 5 highly recommend.

Went with my partner on Valentine's Day and had an amazing experience! Was served by a lovely lady (I believe her name is Anna) who was very friendly and sweet. The food there was amazing quality and the restaurant was beautiful! Very expensive but very worth it! Would definitely go again!

Excellent food and service yet again. Had a table for two booked and were welcomed by the lovely staff at reception. We started with the bread selection. Baked fresh and warm with the chimichurri dip and warm butter. We opted for the 300g sirloin steak (halal). Macaroni cheese, half lobster and chips were our chosen sides. All were seasoned and cooked well, apart from the macaroni cheese which was over cooked and the pasta was far too soft, but still tasted great. Chips were extra crunchy and the lobster nice and moist. Dessert was a giant portion of the pear and apple tart tartin. The scoop of vanilla ice cream was a nice touch and finished off the meal in style.

This was a very indulgent dinner on a Thursday at Gaucho🥩 To start we shared the Beetroot Tartare with mango “yolk” and the Seared Diver Scallops. Both were delicious however I felt the beetroot did have a rather over powering onion taste to it and couldn’t quite pick up on the mango sadly. The scallops were perfection and would order them again! When it came to the main event…the meat…we opted for Tira De Ancho, which is Ribeye steak spiral cut with chimichurri cooked medium 🤤 as well as the Colita De Lomo a fillet tail cut (sadly no longer available on the menu)…medium rare…perfection! We ordered a variety of sides which complimented the meat and for dessert we shared the Salted Dulce De Leche cheesecake…rich and decadent. Our server was super attentive and knowledgeable and made sure our drinks were topped up and offered their recommendations, one being the prawns for the side of the steaks…a major hit from me! This is definitely a place to go for a special occasion as it is on the priced side of restaurants in Manchester, but it’s been a staple in Manchester for decades and it shows by the consistent quality in food and service.

The restaurant is in a great location and has a nice atmosphere, I went for the servers recommendation for a rolled rib eye special, and it was not cooked as requested, no problem as they cooked me a new steak, but we didn't eat at the same time, they offered us free a free drink and dessert which was great service. Overall a bit underwhelmed as I had great expectations.

Went to Manchester city centre for my friend's birthday end Oct 2021 we were a group of 6 people and the table was pre booked. I chose Gaucho as I had eaten here back in 2007 and although it was almost 15 years ago I remember it well as the food was outstanding and I loved the decor in the restaurant. When we arrived at 9.15pm we were seated in a booth - all six of us were tipsy by this point but our waiter did not mind - he was very patient and helpful and extremely friendly. My friend and I ordered the seared diver scallops to start and the GAUCHO SAMPLER to share for main course. The starter cost £16.50 for 2 tiny scallops and I felt it was very overpriced for what it was and I have to say I found it disappointing. The main course however was outstanding. 4 cuts of Argentinian Black Angus Beef - FILLET, RIBEYE, RUMP & SIRLOIN all cooked to perfection medium rare .. 1.2 kg of steak for just two people is an awful lot of meat haha that said I did my best to eat as much as possible and I took the rest back to my hotel in a doggy bag for when I was hungry later on. We were drinking house champagne which tasted good and I also had a couple of mojitos and a pineapple ciroc vodka with pineapple juice. Our eyes were bigger than our bellies as we also ordered multiple side dishes including king oyster mushrooms, seasonal greens, truffle Mac & cheese and bearnaise sauce 😬 the seasonal greens were superb as was all of the meat. The mushrooms were ok. We were the last people to leave the restaurant that night and the bill was £1,024 for 6 of us so certainly not a cheap night out however we had an amazing time. We were well looked after and waited on - the restaurant decor is the same as I remember and I love it as much now as I did then. Will definitely come back to Gaucho but will save it for special occasions due to the cost lol Highly recommended for a special occasion 👍

A fantastic atmospheric venue set in an old converted church. We enjoyed pre-dinner drinks in Gauchos cool bar. Brilliant menu which has expanded beyond a meat only offering to catering for all tasted. Good wine list, friendly knowledge staff. Loved it.

Fabulous, this Manchester Gaucho is in a stunning old building with high ceilings and dining on different levels. The bar area at the front isn't huge and was reasonably quiet, there is a cocktail menu and wide selection of wines and spirits. Going through to the restaurant is like a big reveal and was bustling. Service is very friendly and staff are accommodating. Our starters were absolutely delicious, vibrant, fresh and the perfect size. Steaks were good with nice accompaniments. We didn't have room for dessert but enjoyed a nice Argentinian Malbec. The wine list is comprehensive and pricey but there are some affordable drinks on there. A great night, wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

This was connected to the meal after which we were in a bus taking us to the match, Manchester City v Aston Villa. That was the best way to complete the day as City took the Premier League, the fourth in 5 years. Long may that happen again.

Fab experience at Gaucho for my birthday! Yummy steak cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. Also LOVE the bread haha so fresh! Food is hit and miss when it’s good it’s really good though - would recommend the tuna for starters. The sauces really stood out for me (chimichurri was my favourite). The restaurant is in an old church, dark but in a mystique way and great atmosphere.

Excellent Argentinian Steak restaurant with very attentive and knowledgeable staff. We were greeted with a complimentary glass of Champagne as this was a Christmas themed business meeting. The food was excellent, ambience great and I would recommend you go and enjoy what this establishment has to offer. I went previously with my young family and they loved it too. Ask for a booth if your with the kids, they are great and also look out into the wider restaurant area!

I rarely leave reviews of restaurant because frankly they often disappoint. Our visit to Gaucho courtesy of a gift from one of our children as a thank you was different. From the moment we entered we were made welcome. Pre-dinner drink (Bramble which was lovely). We were taken to our table and our server Emma introduced herself. Emma was in every respect outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble. She took great care to explain the menu and wine list to us. My wife is coeliac (allergic to gluten) and Emma was very knowledgeable and if she was uncertain about anything she asked the kitchen and didn’t just guess as we have experienced elsewhere. We thoroughly enjoyed the food from the menu which applied to our gift but was assured we could choose from the main menu instead and use the value of the voucher towards it. This is obviously a steakhouse and I cannot comment n anything but the steak but the steak was excellent. Trust me this is praise indeed as we have what we believe to be one of the best butchers around and it was at that level!! However the main point of this review is to compliment Gauchos in general but Emma in particular. Thank you for looking after us so well

Gaucho is good, there's no doubt about it. Avoid the Truffle Old Fashioned; it's undrinkably salty (and a real waste of Johnny Walker Blue). Might have been nice if the 30% January discount had materialised, but it didn't and I couldn't really be arsed to question it. The service is always good here, the staff know the meat and are friendly and attentive. Overall, yes, do visit if you haven't before. For roughly £85/head with a couple of drinks, you can't really go wrong.

We were in Manchester for a concert, and wanted somewhere to eat. Everywhere was so busy, and I needed sensible, as was injured due to a motorcycle crash. Found Gauchos and decided was best idea. Thankfully got us straight in without a booking. Service was superb, we were served by Cain who explained the menu well and gave us a recommendation which we went with. We both ordered the 300g Colita de Lobbo, cooked rare. The steak was perfect, absolutely beautiful, so easy to cut, very tender and tasty. Best steak I've ever had and I eat steak a lot. The chips and blue cheese sauce also just right.

This place is a-mazing!! The building is beautiful and from the moment of walking in the ambiance in the bar is so plush! The Cocktails served by ‘Eden’ were fabulous some of the best food have had!! He was so friendly courteous and attentive. I have to say the Spiced Cocktail got me in the end could have had it bottomless! Then the experience led to an a-mazing restaurant which was truly breathtaking, and to top it off the Sirloin steak was the best steak I’ve eaten in my life, and that Chimichurri Sauce was to die for and the Sauted Broccoli tasted fantastic with the Garlic! Good: interior design. Service. Appetizer (quite spicy but I like it. Very refreshing). Ancho (medium ribeye). The beef itself is excellent so sauce is totally unnecessary. Argentina beef, to me, is as good as Japanese Wagyu. Bad: salad (salad and cheese put on top of it. The bowl is too small to mix them well) It has a set lunch menu which is value for money but you have to ask for it.

Been a few times and amazed every time. This time we opted for the scallops and tuna ceviche to start followed by the chateaubriand as main with sides and sauces. Got a bottle of Malbec to have with the food and the dulce le Leche cheesecake (super sweet and 1 is enough to share) with dessert wines to finish. We were served by Adel who was lovely throughout the whole meal and gave great recommendations on the wine as they stopped selling the one we used to order. Had a wonderful evening at Gaucho, celebrating my friend's birthday. Customer service was excellent from start to finish. Upon arrival, we were greeted by two members of staff, who checked us in (as we had a reservation) and offered to take our coats to the cloak room, should we wish to do so. We were then seated at the table and another staff member (Adele) introduced herself to us and informed us that she would be looking after us for the evening. My friend and I had purchased a Groupon voucher (£25 pp) for a 3-course set menu with a glass of Chandon (sparkling wine). As I don't drink alcohol, I swapped this for a soft drink instead. There was a good selections of starters, mains, and desserts on the menu. For starters we had the cured trout, but before this we were presented with complimentary bread and chimichurri butter. Delicious! For mains, my friend had the ribeye steak and I had the halal sirloin. I can honestly say that it was the MOST succulent and delicious medium-rare steak I've ever had! Beautifully cooked by the chef, and accompanied by a blue cheese hollandaise sauce and skin-on chips. For dessert, my friend had the lemon tart and I had the affogato. They were both splendid! The Gaucho staff were also so lovely that they wrote a happy birthday message on my friend's dessert plate, as I had asked them beforehand if they could surprise her on her dessert. Adele kept coming back regularly to ensure that everything is okay, and to regularly top up our glasses with more water. The music was great, the atmosphere overall was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and will certainly return! Many thanks, everyone!

Very good steak, lovely ambiance at the restaurant. The waiters and the waitresses are very well dressed and well mannered. It's an open kitchen so you can watch what's going on behind the scenes. Given the current news, it's worth a try before they close down. It's not the cheapest steak out there, but you get what you paid for.

Average and overpriced, nothing special. Went for my husbands birthday, asked to be seated in a booth (all 4 booths empty) was told they were reserved for larger groups. All the booths remained empty whilst we were there! We were seated against a back wall, not ideal. One of the best steakhouse in Manchester, if it’s even worthy to be called a steakhouse. The aura is far from rustic, it is chic luxurious and tranquil. The restaurant is secluded behind the bar area, with no window or glass-door looking outside, walking towards the restaurant is as if walking towards another world. The meat world.

Seems to have gone down hill since covid, used to be one of the steaks in manchester. They failed to cook 3 of the steaks to the order. Rare was blue, medium rare was rare and well done was medium rare... two had to be sent back. Disappointing. It also took around 45-50 minutes for the steak to arrive, which is pretty poor for a Wednesday in January.

£90 a head! Is probably why the chain is going out of business. The steak was excellent and I really like how they present the meats at the table and explain them and make recommendations for cooking. The cheapest bottle of wine was £50 going up to £400 from memory. The service was a bit disjointed and we seemed to be there for much longer than required for a fairly empty Thursday night.

Was treated to this place for a pre birthday meal. The food was good, had the sausage sharer starter and sirloin for main. I feel it's ridiculously priced. It was good, but not £50 a head good, and that's without dessert or alcohol because I was driving. Maybe one to save for special occasions but feel I could get a similar experience elsewhere for cheaper. Also 12.5% tip automatically add to the bill? Ridiculous.

If you’re looking for a great Argentinian Restaurant then this is the place to go to. From start to finish the service was immaculate, very attentive staff who assisted with recommendations. The food overall was beautiful! We ordered the Sirloin Steak - ( if you need to order halal steak then call 48 hours in advance) with a side of Mac & Cheese, Mash Potato, both which were very tasteful. The mocktails were lovey and recommended by our lovely waitress. For dessert we ordered the salted caramel cheesecake. It was a quite sweet for my liking but that’s just my personal preference. If you have a special occasion then this is the place to go. It’s quite on the pricey side but it is justified by the brilliant food, atmosphere and service.

Came here on Saturday night. Been over two years since we last came and came many times before for special occasions / celebrations. It has changed a lot hugely the music was loud as though we were in Ibiza (which we weren’t) even some of the music felt like I was 18 years old again reliving Ibiza party life and was hard hearing a conversation especially being hearing impaired myself. You use to get bread to start this wasn’t offered to us whether we paid for it or not we would of said yes either way, and the waiter use to come with a wooden board of raw steaks to explain clearly what steaks/ have better knowledge on what we are ordering steak wise / selections but I assumed they didn’t do this anymore as we did ask and the waiter was like awh no you just guess so we second guessed what steak to go for so this felt unclear. The toilets were in a disguising state too which wasn’t pleasant. Won’t be coming back as changed a lot and it isn’t like it use to be. However The food is lovely so can not fault this.

The covid measures they've taken to enable the safety of staff and customers are great and make you feel very comfortable and at ease for your time there. After shielding I had been concerned about going out, and this was my first venture into a restaurant in many months. I needn't have worried as they had been very considerate of safety and covid safe dining and all was done with an air if reassurance that our safety and comfort was their concern. Our waiter, Christophe, was terrific and answered any questions we had about the food. The food itself was delicious and perfectly cooked. Some different dishes on the menu that provided a welcome change from the usual steak meal. The cheesecake is highly recommended!

(And that was by no means the dearest!) Drinks were reasonably priced, about £5.50 for a beer. Bill was £250 for a party of 2 adults and 3 kids. It’s annoying that they automatically add on a tip of 12.5%. I’d like to decided how much myself . The service was very good, the young lady was lovely. We went to the bar for drinks (free cocktail) and just after we had paid the bill some 1/2 hour later, the manager came over and told us they had accidentally thrown away my partners leftovers for the dog (we had forgotten by this time) but the chef had cooked a fresh fillet steak for him!!! Can't fault the service. I have been to this restaurant chain many times and this is the first time my steak has been wrong. However the manageress and staff totally made up for this unusual mistake. Thoroughly recommended if you like steak.

This place is a bit on and off. On good days Gaucho will be one of the best steakhouses in Manchester. On not so good days you will dearly wish you went somewhere else to eat or better yet cook your own steak. Service was full of repeat questions from the same waiter. Service became slower as time went on. The steaks were cooked rare when asked for medium rare. If you weren't paying £200 including £20 surcharge for three people and were instead eating at some pub it wouldn't be a big deal, but this isn't a pub. Expecting a more refined edge, but hopefully next time things will be better.

First important points about Gaucho is, you really need to like Steak and don't mind paying top dollar for it. The restaurant is preceeded by a nice bar area. The restaurant is fairly large and I don't know why with Steak places seems very dark. Good choice of steaks in varying sizes available. Be aware that you need to order your sides separately if you want the full meal. Carrots/Broccoli were £5 Each on top of the Steak plus you need to add Sauce at extra cost. Overall food was OK, but could say it was the nicest steak I've ever had, especially for the price. Wine can be very expensive per bottle. Scallop starter was the worse I've ever had and was totally inferior when compared to the "Hawksmoor" Scallop starter. All in all it was ok, but over priced for what you got.

I love everything about Gaucho. The place is beautiful, from the bar to the restaurant some real care has been taken to make it look great. The service from staff is second to none, so attentive, so helpful and just generally brilliant. They have a wide range of drinks, including a very nice house beer on draft. But the food, oh the food. Out of this world. The quality of the steaks is unreal! If I was the recommend, I'd get the Lomo (fillet) cooked rare or medium rare, it comes with beautifully seasoned chips and I'd go for chimmichurri or blue cheese sauce with a side of spinach. The steaks are cooked so well, they are so tender, there's not a steak knife in sight! Now all of this comes with a price, Gaucho is expensive and unless you're wadded you won't be going all the time, but I'd 100% recommend everyone treating themselves at least once.

Gaucho impresses with it's selections of steak cuts and various techniques to cook it. Where they fell short is for the price tag there are certain elements of the dining experience that didn't quite reach the standard of their cost. For example, their menu was dirty and had fingerprints on it from previous guests that likely ate and then touched the menu. The ambience was also a bit jarring as certain groups were enjoying a quiet dinner and night out whereas other were being quite rowdy and boisterous so it felt a bit jilted. The steak was great and well worth the cost but more of the money customers pay for the steak should be put into the decor. Finally, we came in on a Sunday night when the restaurant was quite empty and were still asked to wait outside in their bar area for 10 -15 minutes and were quite surprised to walk in and see over half of the restaurant was empty so it was unclear as to why we had been asked to wait when tables were empty and ready for incoming clientele.

We visited Gaucho recently for a birthday celebration. It's been many years (approx 10!) Since I last dined at this establishment & i recommend it now just as highly as i did all those years ago. The service & the quality of the food is second to none . We enjoyed good wine & exceptional quality steaks & topped with a special dessert accompanied by a relaxed atmosphere in a modern setting . Having tried Gaucho for the first time recently, we were very dissapointed with the steaks ordered. They lacked flavour, weren't cooked well and overall were very overpriced for the quality of meat we were served. Steaks at Hawksmoor, the Grill on New York street or even Alston Bar & Beef have definitely been much tastier which was surprising given the great reviews Gaucho has received. Apart from the food, the service and atmosphere were amazing!

The decor is fantastic and actually does a good job of making you feel comfortable just hanging out in there. The downside it, it's juuuuust a little bit too posh- Feeling out of place is not conducive to a good dining experience but your mileage may vary. It's also deceptively big. The food is very very good, although their steaks aren't as tender as they seem to think- We were given butter knives rather than steak knives, and this led to some mild annoyance. Faith in your food is one thing but I'd rather have practicality. That said, it was great, and not charred. The desserts were excellent, I had profiteroles and they did not disappoint! The staff is also friendly and welcoming, making it a great experience. I was there for a work dinner so I don't know how expensive it is, but the general feeling I got is that it's likely to kill your wallet while you're not looking

The best steakhouse I have ever been to. Very upmarket place with friendly staff. Bar area near entrance for you to wait for table (and spend your money on drinks). Table was delayed even with a reservation on a busy night (received free drinks on sitting). When seated the waiter proceeded to present a board of the different steaks available (explaining the differences in flavour and cut etc) before taking our order- this was very different and informative. Wine selection was great. Expensive but the quality of the food was second to none. Will definitely be back.

The side however let the place down, over cooked veg, not delicious, not special at all. The cauliflower cheese was bad, in the off sense but they apologized and offered us free drinks. Went for the Electro Brunch on Saturday (2pm), we paid for the upgrade to premium; the additional drinks for our taste was well worth it. Upon arrival met with a 5* host, led to the table where our waiter Bradley explained exactly how everything works and not to be shy on requesting food or drinks as it’s a 2 hour bottomless brunch. The food was as usual with Gaucho fantastic and the drinks were really great, we had around 6 drinks each and 4 plates of food so we made the money spent go a long way and it was well worth the £70 per head. One note, there is a lot of bread in each dish which I understand is needed for some of the sandwiches just an observation. Definitely coming again, I wanted to go this week as well, it was that good and lots of variety!

If you want steak, Goucho is definitely the place to go. A beautifully designed venue set in an old church (original organ still present) within easy reach of Manchester's best bars. The service is exceptional, they prepared items for us that we asked for but not on the menu. Servers are well informed of the meat products and also have great knowledge of the wine menu, offering advice to suit the food ordered. We were permitted to try a couple of wines before deciding (+++). Food is first class. Cooked in an open kitchen. Amazing to see those slabs of meat on the grill. I only wish I could go there more often. A little on the pricey side but perfect for a treat :)

Amazing! The best beef burger I have ever had EVER! Their meat is simply delicious. Very expensive, but you know that before you book. When you get there you can't get over how young the staff are (I thought this and I'm only 24) but I can't fault them. Most of them were unpretentious, apart from the odd few who looked down at us a little, but that comes with the kind of place I guess.

The ground floor level is for (Chinese) hot pot. Also known as steamboat or also "da bin lo". Basically with Chinese hot pot you get a pot with broth in it and you put in different raw ingredients and you cook it yourself. Second time here and ive got to say the steak is honestly the best ive eaten. 4 stars because if one slight mishap with out starters. We were seated above the kitchen so obviously we started watching the food being cooked. I ordered the scollops and the wife something else. After watching our starters being made we and being put under the heat lights at the pass thhe 2 starters sat their for 15 mins and not one waiter brought them. After realising this the chef took the scollops of the plate and re fried them to warm them up and replated the dish. I wouldnt normally mind but they were like rubber when they come amd if your paying £17.50 for a starter they should at least be fresh. No pride in the chefs work their.... so we sent both starters back after explaining to the very apologetic waiter and had our freshly done starters done withing 5 mins. 35 mins later we after the original order we were eating them.. and they didnt charge us for the starters either so.... top noch food. But no chef of that caliber should refry scollops. Without that its 5 out of 5 and we will deffo be returning.

Gaucho is an decent steakhouse. The second time I visited wasn't as good as the first but they do a decent steak and the cocktails are neat.

The food isnt the best but its one of the most expensive in and around Manchester. One of the steaks wasnt up to scratch at all and we didnt enjoy it but they still charged full price without NO discount. The place is also a little dark for eating food in. Another good thing would be if they read some of these reviews and spent the time to reply to them and address their errors!!!!!!

what a fantastic experience, the staff are so friendly the girls on the bar great service lovely food, me and my partner went on Saturday evening for the first time, it was a bit daunting when we waked into the actual restaurant as our table was in the middle, i asked could we move tables they transferred us without a fuss to another table at the back, i even got a rose on arrival from the bar staff, absolute fantastic it is worth every penny thank you, xx
