Reviews of Thaikhun

I absolutely love this place!
I've been a couple of times. The first time I came just for cocktails, which are really nice. They're a bit on the expensive side because they don't have any kind of happy hour type deal, but to be honest it is more of a restaurant. They were still really nice though.
Since then, I've always gone when they have vouchers available on Manchester Confidentials. This means I've pretty much had 50% off which is amazing, especially because the food is flawless. They have some really great vegetarian and vegan options too. The coconut rice was the best rice I've ever had (but it is sweet so if you're not into sweet then it might not be best for you).
Staff are friendly, nice atmosphere, good prices and GREAT food. Would strongly recommend.

Lovely food and atmosphere. Really well presented and food arrived quick. Customer service is honestly the best, all of the waitresses were so attentive. The food portion was really filling and tastes amazing. Look forward to returning again!
F. P.
Food was decent. Service was really good and the place had a good vibe.
I would definitely come back - not the most amazing Thai but everything still tasted pretty good.
T. O.
You can’t go wrong with Thaikun!! The food is amazing!!
Every dish tastes so so good!
Only downside is it’s quite pricey and the portions small but it’s so worth it!
I would definitely recommend 😊
D. P.
Superb Thai food served with style and authenticity in a vibrant yet chilled atmosphere. Staff are reliable, quick, attentive and always available. A good pace to food and drink service . Perfect place to have a couples meal or a get together with friends.
M. L.
Vegan friendly (has quite a few meals whithout meat)
It came fast and the food was really good!
One con I have is that I paid £4 for fried rice with eggs and it was only one small bowl of rice and a little bit of eggs inside.
(Would recommend to go with normal rice)
J. F.
Had a great meal here a few months back. Having spent some time in Thailand I can honestly say that the food here is amazing! The flavors and quality of the food are on par, if not better than in Thailand itself. The staff were excellent and very attentive. The menu is great value for both food and drinks. Would highly recommend you try this place.
R. S.
The food was really good with a great ambience as well. We ordered their spiciest dishes (the jungle curry) which packed a good amount of heat and had a very balanced taste profile as well. I cannot comment on the authenticity of the food as I am not qualified enough for it yet but overall flavours were simply great.
M. M. V.
Halal chicken and duck served here. Absolutely delicious food. We ordered chicken pad Thai, Tom yum soup and salt & pepper chicken wings. Best Thai food we've had outside Thailand in a VERY long time! Fast lunch service and really polite too.
M. S.
It was average Thai food. Nothing special, although the presentation of the food was great. It was nice to try it once, but wouldn't go again.
L. J.
Lovely restaurant. This was our first time eating out together since the pandemic started and it was great. The restaurant was well organised and clean. The food was amazing. Great cocktail options, but I found it a bit lacking on beers.
Really great selection on Thai food. We all completely cleared our plates. The staff were friendly, however felt like a bit of a job to get them to come over and take dessert orders and give us the bill. But besides that it's good.
D. Y.
We went to this restaurant on a lovely bright and sunny day for lunch. We didn’t have any reservations done so quite pleased that we could walk-in. Ordered mango cocktail which I found quite sweet. Sweetcorn cakes were nice. For the mains ordered green thai curry and vegan stirfy. Really loved the vegan dish. Think it was reasonably priced, however they include 10% service charge and £1 donation in your bill by default which felt a bit odd.
A. J.
This place was great! Loved the interpretations of dishes! The curry was tasty, well spiced and flavoured. I love having the option of more interesting sides (coconut rice), these are interesting and make a memorable experience!
J. L.
What a find !! Can honestly say probably the best Thai food I have eaten. Beautiful food, fantastic atmosphere and the staff are fantastic. The price is good too! Won't be disappointed if you chose to eat here!
M. R.
Lovely friendly staff...thai food is authentic and soo delicious...nom nom nom...aroi maak...they have singha pints£6 and towers for £25...recommend this place for quality food...

A good place for friends gathering with kids
Haven’t seen my best friend in Manchester for 2 years. While I had a meeting in Manchester, it’s a chance to meet up after my work. As my friend had 2 kids now, I booked a table in @thaikhun which offering kids meal.
WHAT WE HAD
🌶Phuket Jay Platter for 3
🥟Vege dumplings
🍗Pandan chicken
🐟Thai Fish Cakes
🦴Chicken & Pork skewers
🍝Pad Thai
🍛Thai Chicken Katsu (Kids meal)
🍺Singha draft beer
@thaikhun kindly prepared two high chairs upon my booking request. Also, two kids menu for drawing and crayons were given. This was very important to occupy the kids so that I could chat with my friend 😂
The sharing platters for 3 were actually huge and I thought it could serve 6 people😂. It included . All of them were delicious except the beef which was a bit dry. Panda chicken and fish cake were full of spice and they went extremely well with cold beer🍺
My friend’s daughter was so adorable and willing to share her chicken Katsu with me😍. It was crispy but a bit dry coz chicken breast was used. But I still loved it coz it’s full of love from the little girl🥰
I mainly focused on the starters and beers (every friend knew me🤣) but my friend said the Pad Thai was tasty too.
How’s the dumplings? I will have another post on Instagram @ccgyozalover for it😉
J. C.
Amazing experience.
The food here was to die for - I visited with 2 friends and it was hands down the best place any of us have been to eat in quite some time.
Food was delicious with a good, generous serving size, the staff were welcoming and polite, and the atmosphere and decor were just so cosy. There is also a very detailed allergen menu available.
Only downside is the price but it was more than worth it - will be coming again.
M. T.
Very lovely and kind staff, food was delicious and the interior of the place is just really cute. Would definitely recommend :)
c.
Feels like we were on holiday in Thailand! Really friendly staff and food came so fast! We had some prawn crackers to start as well as Honey Moo and Thai Chicken Katsu for mains with a couple of Singha pints. So tasty we can’t wait to come back - was busy but there’s loads of space and staff
K. P.
Nice food, but fantastic "must trys"! Great atmosphere and decorations altogether.
N. B.
Thank you to Arena and the team for their friendly service! Delicious fast food! Highly recommended and we look forward to coming back! We are Thai and the flavours were just like Thailand! Highly recommended
T.
First of all, service was great. Very friendly and happy staff. The food however was pretty basic. Very generic tasting, lacking any zingy flavours. They put unfried tofu in my dish which is pretty unheard of in Thai dishes and not very pleasant. This suggests they don’t quite get the non-meat eating experience.
M.
Went about 3 weeks ago, really friendly waitresses, staff and great service. Food was really nice. Seems bigger and more spacious than I remembered. Would definitely go again
C. G.
Service is super and friendly. The food is authentic and so tasty. Lots of vegan options and the sharing starter is a real treat. It’s always buzzing too with a lovely atmosphere and lovely surroundings. Well worth a visit.
M. M.
Whent there for my friends birthday , food is always spot on everytime I go , the staff are great and always helpful and polite . The mocktails are also delicious. Deffinately recoment this place you will not be disappointed. Great thai food
G. P.
Amazing place, amazing food and fair price, I recommend this place.
G. E.
Always visit Thaikun when shopping at the Metro Centee. Friendly staff, tasty food very reasonably priced.
A. Z.
Extremely friendly staff, great food.
For dessert definitely get the sticky mango rice, It was great! Tasted very close to what you would get in Bangkok.
C. D.
The food was incredible. Eaten here a few times and I can easily say it’s the best Thai restaurant in the city! I will be coming back time and time again, and bringing more people to try this amazing place.
A. “. M.
Amazingly good food! Portions were decent and fairly priced. Will definitely visit again.
L. S.
Lovely Thai food with all the classics on the menu. Super fast and efficient service that caters well for vegans, those with allergies and are very happy to alter a recipe to suit your needs.
A. Z.
Really enjoyed my visit to Thaikhun!
Came here for a work team meal and started off with the Bangkok and Atchara Platters. The food came quite quickly, was piping hot and fresh. The satay sauce was divine, and the sweetcorn cakes were delicious!
For main I had a Thai Green Curry with egg fried rice, and I must say it was the right amount of spicy (medium), with tender chicken.
I also had two Mocktails (Stay Up Late and Down To Earth) and they were both great!
The venue vibe is relaxed, the staff were lovely and provided quick service.
All in all, I'd strongly recommend and I shall be back to try one of the desserts from the menu! 😊
L. L.
Amazing place! Highly recommended! Special thanks to Dream- she was very lovely and attentive! Will be definitely recommending to friends!
A. K.
The food here is SO good. First ordered it twice on Deliveroo then went to the restaurant itself. Decor is very interesting and pleasant and the food is just superb. Highly recommended if in the area! Reasonably priced for the portion sizes and quality of food.
I. L.
Best thai food restaurant so far. They cooked the dishes very nice. I had green curry, taste great but its just too sweet for me. I asked for chili powder and taste better. Had squid and chicken dishes as well. Everything tastes great. The place looks really nice. Dessert has been served very well.
S. P.
Been here a few times and the food has always been extremely tasty. The service can sometimes be on the slow side, not many staff members in my opinion. However, the food is unreal so this is a place that I will always visit.
C. N.
Went there 2 times. The experience was nice. The place is at Hardmann square. The decorations were in Thai Style. The place had quite a number of customers even in the afternoon. I tried flat rice noodles and Thai style fried rice. Taste was good and quite authentic. Service was ok. Price was affordable too.
J. W.
Lovely restaurant fantastic friendly staff and fantastic food. Had a great evening meal here and would recommend.
H. K.
Nice swish place in Spinningfields. The décor is great. Love the tuk tuk near the main entrance. You've gotta try their Tum yam soup as it's amazing. Huge portion and easily shareable between two people. Their pad Thai was average though. The beef dish was quite good. Service was a bit slow but I'll let them off considering it was a busy Sunday. A few improvements here and there and it'll get five stars
C. L.
The food cake really quickly. I went for the sea bass mango salad and really, it was a bit small and generally not worth the price. The chicken skewers were a good starter to share.
A. N.
It's such a nice place inside, the food was absolutely delicious! Only down side is the service. Waiter wasn't around, messed up 2 of the girls order and when we asked for salt, they took an awful long time to give it. The food is a must try!!
S. F.
Vibrant atmosphere. Good food. Reasonably priced. Service was good, weren't quick to rush us out despite the fact we went a lot over our 90 minute slot
A. C.
I’ve eaten here at least 100 times and always had an amazing experience. Each and every dish is superb (yes, I’ve tried them all). The flavours are incredible. Great value for money too! Simply faultless.
Recommendations: Massaman, Penang, Crispy Squid, Pad Thai and Cashew Chicken.
Oh and the staff are some of the most welcoming around. I’ll be back again very soon!
J.
Amazing place with lots of love in the details. My GF is Thai and we can judge good Thai food. We have been to Thai places all over the world. Food is good and above average but far away from extremely good food like Aroydee in Frankfurt/Germany. So it could be a lil bit better for 5 stars and portions bigger as well. So it's very positive 4 Stars and always good to go there ;)
S. G.
Great experience. Tattu didn't serve between lunch and dinner but we were hungry. Found this very close by. The interior looms awesome! Feels like Thailand in the 90s. We enjoyed the food - pristine! Staff attentive and friendly. I will be back.
K. Y.
Popped in for dinner. Lovely meal and great service. Chillies were a little mild this time but I may be desensitized.
J. M.
Excellent food and friendly service. Good value. Recommended.
A. K.

We recently visited the Manchester Spinningfields restaurant and had an amazing meal. The service was second to none especially the team manager lady who was superb. The food, service & atmosphere was spot on. 👍
R. M.
Great ambience with authentic Thai food!! Loved the food n nice service :)
C. L.
The food cake really quickly. I went for the sea bass mango salad and really, it was a bit small and generally not worth the price. The chicken skewers were a good starter to share.
T.
Welcoming feel, authentic interior and delicious food.

Popped in for dinner. Lovely meal and great service. Chillies were a little mild this time but I may be desensitized.
C. J.
The food here is so delicious, loads of flavour and good portions for the price! Came here for my birthday and was looked after, very friendly staff!
E. H.
Gorgeous food, excellent food and fresh cocktails. Service was great too.
A. F. L.
Superb food and service in the most perfect location in the heart of Manchester. Decor has been thoughtfully created to present a chic street food environment of Thailand. Authentic Thai flavours and many choices from their menu.
G. B.
Quality food and lovely atmosphere
A. C.
The food was lovely and very flavoursome. Service was very quick and the staff were very attentive to the tables needs. It does get busy at weekends so booking in advance is advised.
H. S.
Amazing atmosphere with really pretty restaurant decorations. The food came really quickly but most importantly tasted just like traditional thai food. Drinks were also really good including the classic thai iced milk tea. Definitely would recommend. 10-15 gbp per head.
P.
Its not a restaurant but more of any upmarket cafe. The fitout whilst trying to resemble authentic thai looks as though its been thrown together in around 5mins.
Staff was pleasant and polite, that was until a waitress knocked one of our drinks over. Cant blame the waitress as the tables are only around 40cm a part.
She was very apologetic and quickly replaced the drink .
Starters were good as was the mains.
M. B.
Lovely thai scran. Definitely recommend for a visit. The Bankok Street food platter to start was stunning, as was the belly pork pad Thai. Mrs got the Honey moo which was also delicious. 5/5.
S. G.
We (table of 16) went on Wednesday evening for a alternative staff Christmas meal. The service and food were both excellent. Everyone commented on how delicious the food was.
l. D.
Really good place and great food.
It was so good than I think my dish was too small.
I dont book but the staff inside wellcome me nice.
I recommand it
B. B.
Great food and really good service if a little pricy for this type of food, however, the great atmosphere is somewhat spoilt by the frequent footfall of the Deliveroo riders who hang around the middle of the restaurant waiting to pick up takeout orders.
O. G.
Absolutely lovely!!! If you like thai food or if even if you don't this is a 100% must go!!! Beautiful atmosphere, food and cocktails!!!
L. K.
Very delicious food and very kind staff. Some food is a bit pricey though.
A. T.
Delicious food, awesome service and a great atmosphere
s. f.
We had a spicy chilly and basil stir fry was ok and the pad Thai was very plain and has no flavor
Q. K.
Great food and great costumer service
G. P.
We went there for the first time on Monday, and were very satisfied with our experience, you had a good range of dishes, from mild to blow your hat off, the service was excellent, the staff were Thai themselves, extremely helpful, the food was excellent and well presented and prepared, even more rice if we ran out and needed some, the drinks and puddings were in keeping with the culture, the surroundings were attractive and interesting, lots of permutations in the menu, we shall certainly return there again, very good!!
G.
Pork belly was super dry in my red curry but pad Thai and other starters were decent
Y. T.
Nice decoration and great speedy service, my bf and I didn’t even chat much and the food just came after like 5 min. Okay food, didn’t seem freshly made more likely to be microwave reheated. A bit pricy for this quality of food. It’s good to come for a quick lunch tho
T. M.
Top 3 restaurants in Manchester
Food is fresh and quick, staff is friendly and attentive, great prices and the food is always excellent.
Favourite place to eat! All foodies will appreciate this place!
M. P.
Amazing food with what feels like a realistic setting makeing me feel like I'm actually in Thailand.
P. J.
Very nice place. Great service. Food was nice and served very quickly however not hot enough.
I. F.
Chain quality. Decent enough. Friendly Staff. Our Dog likes the staff too!
E. J.
The food and service were both excellent and the cocktails are also amazing and both food and drinks are very reasonably priced especially for central Manchester
B. S.
Great spicy food options. Great vegetarian and sea food options for traditional Thai cuisine. Worth the money.
S.
Food was amazing and was the perfect amount. Prices were also very reasonable, most dishes are under £10. Halal options are for chicken and duck. Highly recommend it!
N. B.
Went here on a saturday night. It was a lively atmosphere when we got there. It was quirky and had to recreate a thai marketesque theme. The staff were dressed in pants made in thailand and were helpful. The tofu dumplings were absolutely delicious, the dipping sauce had an amazing taste to it. For main i got tofu red curry. It wasnt amazing, it tasted a little fishy to me - im not sure whether it had fish paste in it. The veg i ordered were nice, the jasmine rice were clumpy and tasted of sea salt. My partner got the glass noodles, they were spicy and tasty. For dessert we got banana fritters amd they tasted amazing!!! I would recommend this place to other people to try out. They also had a tuk tuk outside which i found really cool. Great place for pics 👍
C. W.
5 stars for the delicious food, very authentic Thai decor and friendly staff. And to top it off, we had a pandan panna cotta (very smooth and with just the ideal amount of flavour), and the gluten free chocolate cake - it was to die for! Highly recommend.
m.
food was nice, pretty expensive for what you get. service was nice but felt forcibly authentic.
D. C.
Nothing about my experience was bad but at the same time, nothing about it was remarkable. I was waiting around most of the time waiting to be served and the server kept forgetting that I asked for a menu. I ordered the tom yum soup with chicken. The flavour was a little bland compared to the tom yum soups I had in the past. The one served was a little flat when tom yum soups should be complex - a lot of nuisances between the salty broth, aromatic fish sauce, freshness of herbs and the heat from chillies. Moreover, I find the contents of the soup far too simple - it was just chicken chunks, button mushrooms and an inch or two of lemongrass. Where are the onions, variety of mushrooms or other vegetables? I find it so so.
K.
Had a pad thai and it was really nice. portion sizes looked a bit small at start but as you start eating, theres just enough. But maybe not enough for some people with bigger appetites.
I liked how the eggs had a lot of flavour and not just plainly cooked.
E. N.
The quality of food and atmosphere is very nice. But one thing made us disappointed is they shows they do student discounts but when we asked for that, the staff said not doing it anymore. So we were confused because it shown on the website they are doing student discounts.
h. b.
Burger was delicious however chips lacked seasoning. Overall food and atmosphere were good and I would definitely recommend.
J. H.
I wasn't expecting much from the restaurant, felt very gimmkie from the outside but we really enjoyed our visit.
Service was lovely throughout, we had a starter main and desert. Mains and desert were lovely, we had wings to start but they were poor, however we mentioned this and they took it off the bill so no issues. Nice selection of drinks.
Would definitely come back.

Every time i will come to Manchester, one of my reasons will be this tasty restaurants , don’t miss this restaurant and believe in my words as a food lover ...
L. H.
Excellent Thai food, good choice of dishes, cooked fresh, delicious, a great server in Hannah at Gateshead MetroCentre.
T. B.
Staff were so lovely and attentive, food was amazing and the heated outdoor area was perfect during restrictions! Honestly can't recommend enough. We had dumplings to start then one of us had massaman curry and i had cashews and tofu so delicious and felt very authentic. Flavours of food and the service took me back to being in Thailand. They let us stay for more wine after kitchen had closed was a great evening.
D. C.
Delicious food, beautiful presented, the staff is fantastic friendly professional and loved the decoration.
T. C. K. K.
Amazing place! Very authentic, sooooo friendly! Andy and Nim were super lovely, really looked after me! And they have an ice-cream machine! Thankyou for making a solo meal (as is often the case!) very pleasing indeed!
M. F.
I would highly recommend this place. I loved the decor and the staff were very friendly. The most important thing; the food - delicious.
J. M.
Excellent food and friendly service. Good value. Recommended.

Had a tasty meal at Thaikhun. Really friendly service from a lovely young lady. This was a 1st time visit for me.
a. p.
Good selection of food, quirky interior and vibrant atmosphere
J. A.
Lovely food, nice ambience, happy, friendly staff.
A. C.
Enjoyed the visit and the food. Location is good, seated really quick and the service was always present. The food however was ok, not the hottest of foods and lacked authentic thai fresh test but still good.
For English thai food this is 5* but if your looking for something that tastes home made and not batch prepped this ok.
They provide colouring pens and paper for children which is a complete life saver! The chairs and tables are clean, saves *extra* work of cleaning the baby chairs.
Would most definitely come again and the staff are friendly and very helpful.
D. F.
Amazing food and great service. The vegan sharing starter is delicious
D. N.
Good value and tasty 😊👍🏼
M. S.

E. A.
Lovely friendly staff and food is delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant!
F. F.
Great service and the food was beautiful. Great choice on the menu.
S. D.
Highly Recommended - The vegan options were excellent and delicious. Hospitality is all about 'how people make you feel' and despite the restrictions of lockdown & takeaway food service only, the staff were first class. I was served by Becky who was absolutely brilliant. Thanks for a great experience, I'll be back!
M. (.
Found the place by chance after couldn't couldn't into ivy. I love Thai food in general so had to try here and it didn't disappoint. The service is quick, friendly staff and food well it speaks for itself amazing
E. S.
Great service, menu had lots to choose from.
D. W.
We booked a table for dinner on a Saturday night, it was very full, Mango Mai Thai tasted a bit sweet, I like it very much. Food was lovely, it is one of the very few restaurants which have the classic mango sticky rice dessert, quite nice but very filling as a dessert.
m. d.
Great thai food in the city. We love their version of the thai green mango salad.👌
S. H.
Food was nice but nothing special. It came out about 4 mins after we ordered which worried us slightly. Server added an 'optional' tip of 10% and a optional charity donation of £1 to our bill without asking. This could be automatic, we paid on card and didn't include the optional tip. The server got out his glasses and was working out the receipt as he said it wasn't fully paid. We explained we didn't want to leave a tip and he just walked off from us after said this. Not a good experience left feeling like we'd done something wrong. I won't be back.
C. W.
Delicious food and the Mango Mai Tai cocktail. Plus staff really good
M. S.
Fantastic food and the service was to highly recommended 👌😀
k.
the meal was delicious, so flavourful and complex. there were lots of vegan options to choose from too (i had the tofu salad which was lovely!). our servers were very kind too, i cant wait to come back
D. W.
Food was good, lovely environment and amazing staff!

K. M.
Lovely friendly atmosphere great drinks and the food is amazing
L. T. P.
This is such a lovely place to come
And enjoy lovely Thai cuisine
I live some of my time in Bangkok
So I can tell you this place is authentic
Come to a little part of Manchester
That is like Thailand
Staff are fantastic
E. C.
Real good food and the atmosphere is great
K. F.
We absolutely love it here, the food is amazing
A. C.
Very nice green curry, pad thai and thai style milk tea. But the dessert is not that good. Only recommend eating the main course , very good quality. However, quality of appetiser and desserts aren't that good & I don't think it worth a try.
J. L.
The best Thai restaurant in Manchester. I’m from Thailand and I considered the food and decoration are very authentic.
R. L.
Went for lunch, very quick and friendly service, reasonably priced and freshly cooked.
O. L.
Great menu, delicious food and effective/polite/service-minded Staff. Prices on par with expectance. Recommended.
C. K.
Yummy food and great portion/ value for money. Staff very good too
S. O.
I've been here a couple of times with my Thai friend, she thought it was good and gave it a 7-8/10 for authenticity, each time we had a different shared pallet starter of the two they offered, having various different types of delicacies before our mains, I suggested we went for the 40% off as well, which was great, especially for the quality of food.
L. S. S.
One of the best Thai restaurants in Manchester. I recommend the chicken massaman curry or the Thai Green Curry with Tofu! 🙌🏽
J. F.
Delicious food, been several times and never had a bad meal. Authentic flavours of Thailand.
Always a good atmosphere and staff friendly.
J. T.
Food, service and atmosphere were all fantastic
J. T.
Great restaurant...not posh but great atmosphere and service...would definitely recommend the banana fritters to finish with!
S. S.
Fantastic meal!!
Great surroundings.
All good!!
L. H.
The food was amazing. We had the nachos sharer between 4 of us - was more than enough for 4. Can highly recommend the chicken fajitas -The staff were great, friendly and helpful, couldn't have done more; the food was fantastic, everyone really enjoyed what they had ordered.
T. N.
DELICIOUS food, great prices, would recommend!
G. B.
Nice outdoor seating area, friendly staff, good food
Q. H.
Great food and vibe.
A. D.
Excellent premises, tasty food and quick service x
S. T. K.
The food was good and the atmosphere is pleasant and the staff were very helpful. all I would say is its a little overpriced when you have similar chains such as tampopo which are abiut half the price and just as good.
A. Y.
Food was extraordinary, best Thai place in Manchester! Would definitely come again!
T.
Welcoming feel, authentic interior and delicious food.
R.
Best WiFi in all of Manchester! Also food was delicious as well Becky was a very good host! Will be back again soon no doubt.
G. D.
Awesome food, nice atmosphere, excellent service even though it was busy.
T. W.
Can't get enough of this place! Always produces the best quality.
A. B.
Absolutely delicious food! We had a selection of the small plates and various main courses and each & every one was perfect.
The service was very friendly, attentive but never overbearing.
All washed down with an ice cold Singha beer.
E. A.
Great food, amazing staff
T. L.
The red curry with one pepper in the menu was actually way spicier than the chili and basil with three peppers.
This is why my girlfriend could not enjoy the curry. It was too spicy.
A better declaration of the food would be very helpful... -⭐
Apart from this the food was very good, but the size of the portions are not too big.
Prices are pretty high for asian food.
A service charge of 10% will be automatically added to your bill. This is not pointed out in the menu. -⭐
Considering the high prices and the negative points mentioned above it was a three star experience.
A. M.
Very good food and service, only critique would be the optional tip was already added to the card machine when we came to pay. This only became apparent when I asked to add the tip only to find they had already added it.

Went here for lunch today. The booked in advance which was lucky because it looked like every seat in the restaurant was taken, and it seats a decent number of people!
The interior decor is great. Really colourful and funky. Felt like I had left a cold, rainy Manchester and was somewhere else entirely for lunch!
The service was fast, amazing really considering how busy they were. The food was amazing. I really enjoyed it.
They do take away too, which is great. I can see this becoming a regular thing!
D. B. C.
Brilliant food and very friendly staff!!!
m. h.
The food is alright. It's a sit in place with sit in prices but street style decor, giving you are feel of Thailand. I had ordered pad thai. It was, at best, average. I have had it better. But the thai green curry was absolutely amazing and I would totally go there for it again.
J. F.
Tasty Thai food quickly served in nice surroundings
B. L.
Absolutely bussin my dude. Attentive servers and amazing food.
L. O.
The food is really nice, and the cocktails are great for the money. We found the service to be a bit poor though - the waitress seemed pretty annoyed at having to serve us, was completely unable to crack a smile, and actually gave us a filthy look when we asked for the bill!
M. H.
Fabulous place, the atmosphere is great, so much to look at. The staff were very attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Getting on to the food, the best food we've had in a long time. Definitely going back soon.
C. Y.
Delicious food. Good value for money. Mojito was awesome with a kick off chilli.
D. G.
Really nice flavoursome food and lovely staff, one of the best mojitos I've had in a long time , definitely recommend and we'll worth a visit
S. S.
The best thai food I've tasted tbh, and I've tried alot of thai places. 10/10!
K. F.
Absolutely gorgeous food and the service was fantastic, we are already planning our next visit!
J. V.
Fantastic and authentic Thai food!
S. W.
I've been here twice and each experience has been wonderful. The staff were polite and friendly, they helped with one our group who has an egg allergy. There is a bar here with a great selection of cocktails and drinks. There is a large choice of food here, the taste is amazing and authentic. The curry was nice and thick, full of flavour.
The ambience is decorated like Thai street food and pictures of the Thai royal family ? Chopsticks are available on request for those who prefer them. Wonderful place want to visit again to try the other food options, so many to choose from !
A. T.
Very very good food. Duck Massaman is the best I've had. Starters were very good, chilli squid and satay. Pad Thai was just okay, service was very slow, took over 20 minutes for our drinks order to be taken, it was taken alongside our food order and the drinks arrived after our starters. Food makes it well worth returning though.
K.
Delicious starters. Good service 👍.
P. V.
We had a lovely evening. What a nice place to be. Loved the curry. I thougt the appetizer and dessert were fine, but not great. The waitress was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place.
T. T.
I’ve visited several times and have always been totally pleased with the food.
On my most recent visit, I had Thai Prawn Crackers to start (I always get these- a decent portion served with some faintly spicy sweet chilli sauce). I ordered Tofu and Cashew Nuts as a main- I enjoy this dish with chicken, too. It’s served in a tasty sauce with mushrooms, onions, carrots and other veg. For a side, it has to be the sticky rice.
There are some interesting soft drinks on offer- I like the Sicilian elderflower lemonade.
At Thaikhun, the food is always served super-fast and the service is amiable.
On a Covid note, hand sanitiser is available at the entrance.
I’m looking forward to my next visit already!
P. H.
The closest thing to authentic Thai food I've found outside of Thailand!
A. S. C.
Seating was quick, server was friendly, however we had a problem with the food whereby 3 of us ordered the belly pork. Unfortunately it was hard and not juicy at all like it was made yesterday and dried up. Did not enjoy even though the sauce was flavourful.
All of us did not eat more than half of our meals so got thrown away. Disappointed. We didn't tell the management as we were not asked how the food was as some places do when they come round to check.
We were still hungry so we decided to share the fudge cake dessert where it's supposed to come with chilli ice cream. Only after it was served without thaf ice cream and queried that we were told they didn't have it in stock. When I advised another waiter we were not told when we first ordered it the waiter just gave a blank irritated stare.
We didn't pay the 10% optional charge suffice to say and I couldnt recommend the place based on the pork belly and parts of the service.
I.
Really good food but compared to 3 years ago, the curry was much less. Hardly any cashews in there
A. L.
Great atmosphere and food, but got ignored for an hour by the staff so only 4 stars for that
S. J.
This place is just a piece of Thailand in the middle of Manchester. The decorations, music and people take you away to a busy Thai street.
The staff are very friendly and polite and will help you out with the menu if you’re struggling to pick.
The food is amazing! Very fresh, authentic Thai taste in good sized portions and very reasonable prices.
They also offer a good range of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
I was very happy with my date night there.
D. T.
Overall a good experience. The chicken satay was excellent. The chicken pad Thai needed more flavour. It was very bland and you need to search around for some of the seasoning and flavour.
Staff where very attentive and made sure we had all we needed.
J. “. H.
Not bad at all but I think it is slightly too expensive for the food. Note that I am definitely biased as I had lots of excellent authentic Thai food before so your experience could be very different. Separetely, this seems like a really nice place to hang out with friends.
A. W.
It was honestly delicious, staff are very friendly, the prices are very fair. Their currys are great, brilliant stirfrys and there was an amazing steak dish. I will absolutely go back! Its great for vegans and vegetarians too.
D. R.
Really enjoyed an authentic Thai meal at this busy city centre restaurant. We'll definitely be back!!
W. D.
Decent Thai food, not the best value for money. Very busy when we went and accordingly loud, though service was pretty good notwithstanding. Watch out when paying the bill - 10% is automatically added on, and then the card machine prompts you to add a further gratuity. Naughty!
s.
Very nice, portions are a tad small. Plus, the tofu needs marinating for longer. Fabulous staff. Puddings are delicious too.
T.
Had a meal here a few weeks ago it was fantastic! Came in today service very slow had to wait 50-60 minutes from finishing our starter to getting a main In the hospitality business this is not really acceptable the food though as always . Fantastic
M. S.
They've changed the menu, but it's still confusing! They stopped doing unlimited rice - I mean how much does a second bowl of rice cost them? 5p? But the food is really good tbf. I wish they had more vegetarian options other than just tofu! :)
B. M.
Very nice place, with nice people and good food
H. T.
Nice location and really good food. Service was abit lacking when visited and thats why knocked off 1 star
P. G.
Had great expectations based on reading reviews. Sadly disappointed. None of the freshness and zing you expect from Thai food. My noodle dish broth was odd to say the least, to be fair they offered to change it, but you get so far and can't be bothered as you will be out of sequence with the rest if the group. This was our groups opinion overall, not just mine. Had much better elsewhere in the city.
J. S.
I felt a tad excited when walking in - eager to sample some dishes after hearing great things about the place from friends.
It was busy, tables full, people enjoying the exotic cocktails at the bar, a vibrant atmosphere, lots to look around at. Unsure of what to order we went for a selection of starters, they were presented beautifully, and the dips added another layer of taste. The satay was a standout, as were the prawn and chicken wontons.
The main didn't disappoint either, and the cocktail with with chili, lemongrass and whiskey was amazing.
It was a real treat all around, simple food, cooked beautifully.
I can't wait to go back and try out more of the menu!
W. S.
My fiancé and I ate here after looking around for a nice place with an outside area to enjoy the weather and we were presently surprised.
The street food was authentic and really enjoyable I devoured a whole deep fried butterflied sea bream with curry and rice and my only complaint about this dish was the curry was over salted but not knowing a great deal about Thai street food i cannot say this was not how it is suppose to be.
We had 2 great cocktails to start and although a little overpriced they still kicked off a great dinning experience.
I would say in total this place may charge a little to much for some of their drinks and food but because if the area it's in i can understand why this is.
J. D.
Such tasty food, it's seriously well done. The atmosphere in thaikhun is great, there are lots of cool decorations and nice lighting. The pina coladas (and all the cocktails to be honest) are really delicious too. Great place to go as a couple.
S. J.
Amazing place - great atmosphere, friendly staff and authentic Thai food. You can watch the food being cooked, buy snacks from their shop or have takeout, we dined in and the bill was £32 for 2 starters, 2 mains, a beer and a bottled water. Decor is fantastic - really great venue!
O. O. P. -. P. C. -. O. F. -. S. S.
Really liked the food at Thaikhun and the place is set out nice with plenty of room between tables. My only criticism is that when we walked in and sat down at a table, they didn't notice us and then we seemed to be on the back foot for the rest of the meal. Having said that the staff were really nice and attentive.
J. D.
Stumbled upon this in error.
One of the nicest places I've eaten in a long long time.
100% will be back again!
Staff were all v polite and we sat outside to eat.
Prices reasonable too! Very impressed!
M. H.
Great restaurant, love the decor and staff very friendly. My husband said it's the best Thai meal he's had, which now beats a restaurant in Dublin which was his favourite. 😋
M. F.
Me and my girlfriend picked up some food tonight which was amazing 👏 😋 reminded me of Thailand the pad Thai was awesome! Happy all around thank you so much 😊
B. B.
It's not a bad restaurant. They have done well to create some ambiance in a class fronted potentially souless building, service is good and the food was good. I expect a bit of exploring. The menu will find a dream dish for everyone!
Y. M.
Good food, fast service and love the interior and the atmosphere !
J. Y.
Great service, amazing food
B. M.
Boy was this restaurant difficult to find! It was windy, rain coming at me sideways and my legs were killing me and i walked up and down and up and down! The interior is quite trendy and the food was ok, nothing to write home about. My maincourse looked like sludge and despite not having any chillies next to the dish on the menu, it was super spicy! And then I discovered a piece of string in my dish and completely went off the dish. They exchanged it and gave me a new dish. Pad thai and very nice. The manager was nice, the waitress had a basic grasp of the English language so not ideal. Wouldn't go back, there must be better Thai in Manchester?
K. D.
I love the food here. The Pad Thai is nutty and flavour some. The massamam curry is sweet and creamy. Been twice and thoroughly enjoyed it both times !!
J. W.
Let down by poor service that is normally slow and unreliable at peak times despite having large numbers of staff!
The food is actually great with the classics nailed (Chicken Satay, Massaman etc.). Perhaps one to try when it's a little quieter. It's situated in a trendy part of town near lots of nice bars so great way to kick off a night out.
C. W.
Fab restaurant with lovely staff! I'd recommend the spicy fried chicken with rice, and definitely the pancakes to finish!! Pro tip...they sell the funky pants that the staff are wearing and O now have a new pair of PJs! :)
R. A.
Very quick service and the staff are super friendly!!
S. L.
delicious. bit annoyed disappointed the cheap-looking unicorn ice-cream
Y. C.
Staff was helpful and friendly. Quick service. Great portion sizes. Very flavourful. Definitely recommend. Worth the money.
J. K.
Amazing food, the beer tower is a great idea. Would recommend having multiple small plates
O. P.
Forget everything that you have ever been disappointed about when eating in a typical "themed "restaurant. Thaikhun Manchester provides great food and great service in a fun environment. We have visited on four occasions and have enjoyed it a little more each time .
We took a party of nine on Fathers Day, seven of whom had never been before. Everyone was delighted and cannot wait to return.
G. L.
Really tasty food, great atmos and ambiance and efficient and friendly staff.
M.
An amazing evening. Booked online, seated and served promptly by friendly staff.
Amidst a busy evening the food was excellent, drinks were flowing and service made it all the more enjoyable.
Highly reccomended
D. D.
I absolutely love this place, aside from the fact the food is amazing, the whole theme of the restaurant makes it a great dining experience. I haven't on any occasion felt rushed despite it always being quite busy, and the staff have always been very friendly and helpful. I also find it is never over loud which makes it a great place to go for conversation, on a date maybe?
J. D.
The food is nice. The service on the other hand is botchy and we were left on our own and ignored for long gaps of time with no apologies when we tried to get their attention. Another couple were also visibly upset at being ignored. I know the staff had finished a busy lunchtime stint but we were paying customers like the others.
I think this is another of those chain restaurants and i understand that businesses have to grow to provide a return on investment to stake holders but when a paying customer feels like the fodder used on the way to business growth then it stops the growth. That is just common sense.
I think the staff do try and do a great job overall in these places but it's just a bit unsettling when you pay for a meal and get ignored due to any number of seemingly valid reasons.
J. C.
Menu states that many dishes can be made vegan but when I asked for vegan versions I was presented with an Excel spreadsheet with multiple columns by the waitress from which I have to find my dish and decide for myself if it was vegan or not. In the end it was stated that none of the dishes were in fact vegan because they were cooked on the same surface as non vegan products. I found this odd as the menu states otherwise. I contiued and ate there as I'd already started drinks and the food was good.
L. K.
Had a fab takeaway from here recently. All the food was amazing and delivered well. Loads of choice on the menu. Would definitely order again
J. S.
Last week, I went to Thai Khun and was honestly really disappointed with the food. I ordered a traditional Thai papaya salad and the taste of the papaya salad didn’t live up to expectations - didn’t even have fish sauce, chilli, fermented fish, etc.. instead was glazed with honey and garlic with small amount of chilli, it was so sweet felt like eating sugar in a salad.
The pad gra poa gai just didn’t taste right and didn’t have much flavour as it wasn’t authentic.
The mango sticky rice... where’s the rest of the coconut cream??? Overall the bill came up to £60 and just felt like it wasn’t worth it.
As someone who was brought up in Thailand before moving the UK; the food here can’t even be compared to back in Thailand, if you are someone who likes Thai food, you’ve been lied to. What you’re eating isn’t Thai.
Overall the customer service was amazing just disappointed with the food.
K. P.
Absolutely delicious!! Great atmosphere and great service, all staff very helpful and welcoming! And the decor is worderful! My husband and I had dinner and it was just what we had been looking for - thank you!
T. K.
Brilliant food with fantastic service and lovely ambience! Would definitely recommend trying the chicken thai basil rice and green curry. Close to the actual thai standards!
Also, never start your meal without the crackers served with sweet chillie ;)
I. N.
Great customer service!
S. C.
Really excellent menu choice along with a bubbly atmosphere- great playlist for their background music. I had a problem with the main I ordered but their customer service was excellent! Definitely recommend the coconut rice, delicious!
S. N.
Can't fault the cooking experience morning, so much tasty food that we learned how to prepare and cook in the authentic Thai way. The matriarchal chef was a real character.
R. P.
Cool atmosphere, reflecting the street culture of Bangkok and other parts of Thailand (love the tuk tuk outside). Service was good too. In terms of food and authenticity, the dishes weremore westernised than expected. The Holy Basil Chicken was rather dry, and didn't have much of a kick in terms of chilli. The Thai red curry was not as hot as expected either, and it contained grapes which was not pleasant at all so I don't understand why they were in there. The fish cakes (or fish cake lollipops) were flavoursome, but with a sweet drizzle of some sort which I wasn't very fond of. If your'e looking for a fun atmosphere with a nice bar with friends, Thaikhun is a good choice. Foodwise, I would choose Try Thai in Manchester's China Town.
T. R.
Excellent food great service
J. D.
Lovely warm, friendly welcoming staff especially Mike. We sat outside on a cold night but the wine and heaters were perfect. Will try and return again today my friend wants
To buy some of the pants that the staff wear. Will recommend to friends xx
C. P.
Absolutely delicious fresh rolls and prawn red curry.
D. S.
Delicious Thai cuisine. Would definitely recommend if you enjoy tasty food.
C. W.
Really nice food and good beer.

THaikhun brings the streets of Khao San Road to Manchester. We stepped out of the rainy streets into Thailand "The Land of Smiles", to try authentic street food.
Manchester is thankfully graced with several Thai restaurants, many of which are dotted around the city as hidden gems.A stark contrast, Thaikhun blooms full of colour on The Avenue of Spinnigfields where it announces itself with a Tuk Tuk outside. I was dubious about the authenticity of the restaurant purely because if it's location and size, but that's just the hipster in me.
We tracked and traced, donned our masks and were seated in a comfortable booth where we glanced around at ornaments and trinkets. The walls were decorated with Thai movie posters and newspapers, it had a "backpacking feel" to it.
To start we shared the Ted Sakarn Jay platter which is named after the vegetarian food festival in Phuket. We enjoyed fried papya, sweetcorn cakes, spring rolls and dumplings, all served with delicious dips. My favourite was the fried papya, it was so crunchy!
I was quite indecisive when choosing my main but thanks to you guys I decided upon the Chilli and Thai basil stir-fry with chicken (although I was initially insistent on having pork belly). This stir-fry is apparently the most popular in Thailand and I can see why! The chilli, galric and sweet basil combined to make a fresh savoury dish that packed kick, it was served with jasmine rice.
Thankfully a few of you guys convicted me to also try the Tom Sam papaya salad which I had "Thai spicy'. It was so incredibly fresh and delicious! Made from shredded papaya, shrimp, carrots, peanuts, cherry tomatoes and fine beans, it was warming, sweet and spicy. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Jade went for Pad Thai, which she always does. The national dish of Thailand is one her favourite things! She gave it a big thumbs up.
Overall we had a wonderful time at Thaikun, the service was safe, attentive and friendly and the food was fantastic
G. B.
Excellent service and nice variety on the menu. Restaurant has a nice atmosphere and great to see the chefs prepairing the meals
I. R.
Excellent service and experience. Brought back the Thailand memories. Reasonable prices for Manchester City too.
r. f. r.
I went for a meal here becuase my partner was keen to try it, I, being not as adventurous as her, was a little apprehensive. Wow, what a fantastic experience, from the moment we arrived, the service was first class, the food delicious without being too hot and our waitress, I think her name is Oh, was excellent - very helpful and efficient.

Amazing and very authentic
Amazing food really authentic. Super and friendly service. Plus the restaurant looks great too. You get the real feeling of street food. I would highly recommend.
L.
Sign up to their newsletter, they always have deals on! This really is a unique looking place as they replicate a Thai food market. Street food selection is authentic and it's nice to see that the majority of their servers are Thai/S.E Asian. It can be pricey but as I said earlier, they offer deals you can't say no to!
K. F.
Amazing restaurant, good quality of food :) Enjoy every visit there!
M. W.
Great atmosphere to meet and chat with friends and family. Everything we chose from the menu was fantastic and we were spoilt for choice. A great drinks menu as well. There is an option to sit outside as well
r. a.
I love this place. Food can never be disappointing here. Every time I visited it, service was great. However, all my visits to this restaurant were on weekdays so can't tell about the service in busy times like Saturdays.
M. G.
Great food. Great staff. Authentic Thai dishes took me back to my time with family in Thailand! Highly recommend.
J. P.
Food was absolutely gorgeous, both starters and mains. Very impressed.
S. P.
The food and atmosphere is amazing. I loved the themed decor and the staff are so kind. It has become our families favourite place for special occasions.
M. U.
Loved it. KSG delish! Red curry devine. Staff wonderful. Perfect from start to finish.
K. N.
Nice mix of dishes both Thai and Vietnamese. Beautiful space inside.
T. C.
Great atmosphere, food and service .Can recommend this a great place for Thai food!
V. P.
Nice atmosphere. Very slow service. The waitress had no understanding of the drinks you offer. Food was good but where's the chopsticks?
S. D.
AMAZING!!! I went on bank holiday Monday, we'd booked in advance, and I am glad we did, as it was rammed
We were seated and given Thai crackers, there was an array of complimentary sauces in the table ranging from spicy to mild – a nice touch..
Service was a little on the slow side, and some of the waitresses who served us didn’t seem to have a clue what they were doing, however the food more than made up for it!
We shared the thai street platter, which consisted of steamed chicken balls, chicken skewers, beef skewers, minced prawn and chicken wontons, served with street style dips – they all tasted delicious
For my main – I cant remember the name, but it was a chicken and vermicelli noodle dish, which was equally as nice – unfortunately I was left rather full from the starters, so could only manage a few mouthfuls
This was all topped off with it all been extremely good value for money! Will definitely return..

Visited the new Thai restaurant in Spinningfields complete with tuk tuk outside. The decor's busy but gives the laid back street food atmosphere it's aiming for. The staff are attentive and helpful with menu suggestions and the cocktails are lovely. The curry dishes are good. The portion sizes are small but very tasty.
F. M.
This is hipster heaven with cheap cocktails, fun menu and enough kooky Thai paraphenalia to keep even the most ADD-addled mind happy. Food was very average, though, and (unlike Thailand) a sparsity of veggie choices.
A. L.
Thaikhun (word play on Tycoon) is an amazing Thai restaurant. It's been dressed up in a typical street hawker style decor with elements of old age Asian charm and backpacker's 'messiness'. The menu is really good with a wide variety of dishes and if you're ever stuck, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The one minor negative is the portion can be quite small. A meal of shared starters, sea bass wrapped in banana leaves, 5 spiced pork, Thai pancake and 2 drinks came up to £47. Yes, it's a bit on the expensive side but it's worth the experience and the taste sensations! Plus, you can throw in a free photo op with the tuk tuk parked outside!
s. s.
We opted for the £16 a head set menu. Lovely food, great service.
A. R.
Good atmosphere and great food. Quick service as well.
L. S. (.
I went to Thaikhun on a rainy Monday for my birthday. Good impression from the start, a colourful little tuk-tuk outside and plenty of seats. Inside it was pretty busy with a buzz about the place. The staff were really attentive and friendly.
If anything, the food portions were pretty small and overpriced, but then it is Spinningfields. It was nice and enjoyable though and apparently the portion sizes have greatly improved. I'd recommend a visit.
m. w.
Absolutely love this place, I take friends and recommend all the time.
Fast friendly service and the food is on point.
If there was 10 stars I'd be hitting that too!
P. W.
Food was good, but not great. Delivery was on time. Noodles arrived a bit mushy and the Ped Phad Prik Pao could have been a bit more generous (even if just more rice).
We rate:
* * * Ped Phad Prik Pao (Duck and Chilli ) - preparation seemed lazy
* * * Pad Thai Tofu - lacked a bit of flavor depth
J. F.
Not great in my opinion. Ordered pad ka pow which is very spicy if ordered in Thailand and it tasted like they forgot to put chilli in it at all. It was too salty as well.
A. S.
Great food, great service and a fantastic atmosphere. First time trying thai food and I really enjoyed the experience, cant wait to go back
A. W.
Amazing food, amazing staff and a very enjoyable time. £5 cocktails and very affordable food compared to the venues around there.
Â. F.
One of my favorite restaurants in Manchester.
It's always a safe bet and good place to impress people who are visiting Manchester :D
Their food is delicious and with lots of variety. You have to try their amazing Phad Thai Gai.
The staff is always very friendly.
The decor is also interesting. They managed to bring the "confusion" of Bangkok streets and other Thai iconic objects into a well thought aesthetic.
Sometimes music can vary between Thai and some weird pop music but who cares when you're having an amazing meal?
C. S.
I would have put 5 stars but there was no real interaction from the servers other than what they had to
O. I.
Great ambience and amazing food. The 'extra spicy' food was not spicy enough for me but it was full of flavour and very satisfying. Will definitely visit again.
D. W.
Food was lovely. Service was slow though and not ideal for a lunch time when under time pressures. But well worth a visit
G. T.
Great food love the decor. The staff are lovely to
O.
absolutely unreal food. very pleased with my trip
A. P.
Really good food at this Thai restaurant, the service was excellent and our waiter was great in suggesting different dishes. The steamed pork dumplings were amazing, a must have.
P. M.
Great food. ..friendly service
S. B.
As a first time diner,i was very impressed with the quality and freshness of all the food.My daughter having just returned from Thialand said the food was very authentic and loved the vegan menu. Our server Nun was vey efficient and happy to talk us through the options. To be able to eat out in a city, two courses and drinks for party of four, for under a hundred pounds. This is the place to come, for great cocktails and a feel for real Thia street food. Will definitely be coming back next time I am in Manchester.
A. G.
This place really looks the part and the staff are very friendly. The food on the other hand is cheap fast food quality and very expensive for what it is. Overall experience is OK all things considered. Probably wouldn't go back now that I've seen it.
S. I.
Good food and lively atmosphere
This place is located in spinning fields and is a casual thai restaurant with a bar as well. This place is good for friends gathering, having small birthday parties, pre-party dinner on weekends etc.
G. P.
It was uniquely Thai, no nod to British taste, we chose fairly hot food, there was considerably hotter available, and one could dial down the heat a lot, and get the equivalent of a meze, a selection of various dishes for a set price, the sweets were all their own, very different, and very good, you can also buy various products bottled or canned in Thailand, even jams, ingredients quite different to British, and the decor, and toilets, were excellent like a little bit of Thailand!
E. G.
Visually pleasing place to eat with a nice, laid back atmosphere.
Food is always delicious while relatively inexpensive for the area - there can be a wait though as is often quite busy!
K. H.
Amazing food and cocktails
S. L.
One of my favourite Thai restaurants in Manchester. The food is amazing!!
J. R.
Good food, great cocktails. Thai hippy backpacker decor on point. Brilliant value for money, especially considering it's pricey Spinningfield neighbours.
D. C.
Dear Thaikhun, please mark vegan & vegetarian dishes separately. Presenting a sizeable spreadsheet is not good enough for a restaurant of your standing. Other than that, you're awesome.
k. r.
First time we've eaten here & will definitely be returning. Absolutely delicious food and staff very welcoming
R. N.
Amazing Thai food with friendly Thai staff. Made me miss my trip to Thailand! It’s worthy to go!!!
J. P.
Very authentic Thai. Good gluten free selection.
T. P.
An interesting offering for a chain. It's certainly different than a normal restaurant. I'm not sure how authentic the food is, but it does feel more like you're eating street food.
R. W.
Really quick service over lunch. Disappointing that the lunch menu is no longer available but the food was great all the same. I had the chicken pad thai and I highly recommend it.
D. S.
A nice addition to Spinningfields which is themed as a Thai Street Food restaurant and has bicycle's and a Tuk-Tuk at the entrance and the inside looks like you would expect a Thai street market to look like. I ordered the Pad Thai and found the overall quality of the food was excellent, however I felt I didn't get enough of it for the money I was paying and found it a little on the expensive side for what I got.
A.
After all the fuss around this restaurant I was expecting more than I actually got. The service is very bad it took them a long time to even take our order, and all this after saying that they can only stay there for two hours even though we came with a reservation. The food was okay but again not impressive. It is not on my list of the Thai restaurants in Manchester.
J. F.
Fabulous food, service and atmosphere.
Had chicken and cashew nut stir fry, really hot and spicy
a. A.
Under spiced tom yam soup-and since when is coconut a main ingredient?
Pad thai noodles ok, but whats to go wrong with these?
I think I am just destined to be disappointed with UK Thai restaurants after tasting the real thing in Thailand.
S. L.
Nice food. Good and fast service. Also, good atmosphere and decoration with short waiting time. Would come again.
J. B.
Really good thai food, tasty, reasonably priced. Mine and my girlfriends favourite place to go for food in Manchester. Would recommend.
A. H.
Gorgeous food, always love tried different things from the menu. Thai food done quickly but very deliciously! Just like street food. :)
A. C.
Really affordable tasty Thai food. Reminded me of my backpacking days. The fishcakes are brilliant. Check this place out for a lunchtime fix.
D. L.
Had a lovely pinto for 2. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Great atmosphere and it's very clean.

It was quite dear for mediocre Thai food. I would prefer Wagamama or Tampopo and they are marginally cheaper. You're paying the Spinningfield premium but with little benefit.
D. A.
Very attentive and friendly staff.
The beef noodle stir fry was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be returning!
H. S.
Lovely lovely Thai food, great prices and the whole interior is surreal.

Amazing food , flavours and price . Great place to try something new and refreshing and fast service as well you cant go wrong
R. S.
We love thaikhun, the food is amazing, the environment is great and the staff is super nice.
The prices are a bit higher now but it stills worth it (30 pounds for 2 if you get a bento) 🍛
C. B.
Had a good experience in this spot with my girlfriend. The food was served rapidly and the service is just great. Prices are fair.
O. B.
Great food, friendly staff. Best thai food I've had in ages - some dishes a bit pricey for their size.
B. T.
The food was good, not amazing. And a little pricey, but I guess that's what you get in Spinningfields. Love the crazy Asian street style decor though!

Decent Thai food but too pricey for the dishes.

Food is nice but the staff have no interest in their customers. This place should not rely on it food and quirkiness which is the general feel
A. A.
Been to this place multiple times now and every time is a good experience. Have no complains from here. Best in there service and the food is always consistent.

Lovely Thai food served in a 'street food' surroundings... Staff always friendly right in the heart of the city..... Very popular...

I had heard some naf things re the portion sizes here so was apprehensive about going - a few of my good friends had said it's not-so-reasonably priced particularly in light of the size of meal you receive however they must have got wind of this because when I chose to finally visit, the portions were just right, really tasty food (I went for the Massaman but it was a toss up with the king prawn panang), great menu and it was absolutely packed especially considering it was a Wednesday night!
H. G.
Great food when you can get it. Busy place - best to book ahead in an evening. Good service is lottery.
