Lovely pub with nice walks around. Great home made food and not overpriced. Dogs allowed in the pet friendly pub area. A bit small area and tables in this section but enough to enjoy a really nice meal. Staff very friendly and attentive.

Hubby and I decided to have a lovely canal walk to the Horseshoe to avail ourselves of a pint or two and maybe a bite to eat. So glad we did. Bit of a queue for a drink when we arrived but the staff were very efficient and we were soon enjoying a pint in the busy beer garden. Opted to eat outside where the service was excellent and the food was delicious, can recommend the beef stroganoff and the fish and chips. Special mention to the young man behind the bar with dark hair, he was extremely efficient, friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this pub and look forward to visiting again soon.

I see the keyboard warriors are out in force again (it must be the sun). This great pub, in a great location, is child friendly but clearly highlights at the door that prams are not allowed due to the width of the walkways. Also booking in advance for food is recommended as it can get very busy at times; food is freshly prepared so there can be a small waiting time. The menus have just been updated, there is a changing specials board, cask ales change regularly and the pub has just upgraded the outside seating at the front and in the beer garden. What more could you ask for. (The only downside is they close on a Monday as the Landlord goes to Legoland)

Stopped here with my dog and had a pint on the front outside. Delighted to see new outdoor chairs with adjoining tops to stand your glasses on. Beer, as always, first class. I had the Gold, extremely tasty and very reasonably priced. Would have had another but there was a chill wind blowing in sharp contrast to yesterday's hot temperature. Great atmosphere. Just needs access for sleeping children in prams. We didn't want to sit outside as it was really hot but we were told at the entrance we can't take the pram inside. On the other hand there were many dogs inside and space for us. I don't see the harm. We were then told the food isn't available between 2-5 weekdays but that's fine- my mistake. Anyway I digress...the food is really good...from our previous visit. Very welcoming.

Popped in for a soft drink with my family. Decor slightly tired but a clean place. Not tried the food yet but hope to go next week for tea. Toilets the cleanest I've ever experienced so top marks for that. Might even try the quiz next Wednesday after food. 😁

Just got back from a lovely Sunday afternoon dinner. Fabulous vegan and GF selection on the menu too, which is just great to see 👍 I had the butter bean stew and it was deeelish. Everyone enjoyed their food and the service from the young lady that took our order was excellent with lots of smiles and nothing was too much trouble. We’re already going to return in a few weeks for a birthday dinner. Highly recommended 💖

We have been going to the Horseshoe for years and always found the food very good and very good customer service for a period of time we stopped going because when we did come down one Sunday before the pub changed hands we brought are Son who is Autistic and is a fussy eater we had noticed that the menu had changed a lot no Shepherds Pie no Sunday Roast no Fish and Chips no Corn Beef Hash no Hot pot no Cheese and onion pie you name it they didn't do it basically they tried to go up market for the posh brigade the people with the money but it didn't't work people like good basic food from years as ago just like there Mums used to make 😆some of the meals mentioned we ask them to do Tomato Soup and a Cheese Sandwich for our son and they wouldn't even do that I thought are you serious so i thought keep your food we can always go somewhere else so we did but the Horseshoe now is a lovely friendly family pub where you can sit outside on a sunny day and have a cold Lager and is very child friendly and i always enjoy my Fish Chips Mushy Peas or a Cheese and onion pie with a nice pint of lager

A hidden away pub that seemingly everyone knows about. We sat outside ordered food which was nice but weirdly when the dessert came the waitress told us we had to pick it up from a serving station near the door... which she mouthed to us from 10 yards away that she wouldn't be bringing to our table... very strange.

Great family-owned pub. They like to switch up the menu but in a good way. I was sad that they didn't offer the macaroons anymore but they came out with a lovely penang curry. The menu is always evolving and the venue is just stunning. All throughout lockdown I kept saying how I miss going back to this pub.

Lovely evening at The Horseshoe. Social distancing etc all good, staff wearing visa's and all customers not sat wore masks. Felt comfortable and safe. Lovely food, partner had muscles which were delicious and I had the pate again this was really nice. Partner had the beef teriyaki which he enjoyed and I had a delicious sirloin steak, cooked to perfection (medium rare) and the Diane sauce. Would definitely recommend a visit here, good prices too. Lovely friendly staff.

The Horseshoe Pub is a delightful pub in a beautiful location. The also serve good quality tasty food. We often come from Manchester to visit relatives in Stoneclogh and stop by at this pub for drinks and food. The staff are very pleasent, offer good service and friendly banter. Fairly new to the area and often walk my dogs down the canal and came across the pub and have now bought my mum and friends here when they've visited me the garden is beautiful and the covid systems in place make to feel very safe and comfortable. Dog friendly the staff are really friendly and helpful and always come round to check if you need anything and if they're not around there is a sanitiser in the garden and a service bell.

Location and atmosphere are fantastic, great staff and the management do care about your experience, they look after you well. Food is about average and priced fairly, the menu offers a good choice, decent enough selection of beers on tap, big plus is the outside options, tidy beer garden to the rear and big outside space at the front with the church lawn open for you to chill out or the kids to play. Well worth a visit.

Here right now. Had light bite gammon with pineapple main and the farmhouse pate starter. Very underwhelming average. Slightly over cooked gammon but ok with the pineapple. As for the starter I didnt like the chutney and I think they could of put it with better bread as the ploughman's lunch comes with a lovely crusty tiger cob. My partner had the Henry lamb he decided it was a boil in the bag affair and dry. The staff seem very busy and the bar has been decorated with glasses I can't tell if they are busy or just not used to it and they forget who to serve next. Overall its not bad as the tables are clean and the waitress is very prompt. It's a place that seems it would do very well with the baguettes/sandwiches and desserts on the menu.

Party of 20 for my son's 21st. I have nothing but good things to say. The bar staff was very welcoming and pleasant. We had one lady called kath waiting on us.. she was fantastic with us and couldn't do enough for everyone. Food came out hot and quick. I think between us we ordered everything on the menu. We've been frequent customers over the past decade. The Horseshoe has changed hands a few times in that period, but at this time (Aug 17) it is in great hands. The menu (ltd to roast and lunch options on Sundays) is tasty, the beers on tap are good.. La Trappe bottles are a rarely found treat beyond that. The pub is situated along a quiet river front road with sizable leafy (beer)garden at the back (and separate smoking cabin), a real hidden gem just off the road between Kearsley and Radcliffe - child friendly too (my 6yo boy is happy with it) and affordable.

The horseshoe was taken over by new management in autumn 2017. Since then it's been cleaned & smartened up. There is a good selection of real ales along with all the usual lagers. Sit outside on a sunny day and watch the world go by. It's a good stop after a walk or bike ride.

Packed with history and memories this pub is the focal point of the historic village of Ringley positioned at the foot of the national monument of Ringley pack horse bridge.
