Stopped here for breakfast/brunch, hands down the best vegan breakfast we've ever had and we've been vegan for 6 years!
We had the Full Breakfast and Vertigo Benedict, we were blown away! Both were absolutely delicious and fab portion sizes too.
Lovely drinks too, especially the red velvet matcha would highly recommend.
Staff were kind, friendly and very welcoming, you really have to try whilst your in Manchester, whether your vegan or not!
They also played great 80s bangers so we were in our element, and it wasn't too loud either so we hear each other talk perfectly.
Definitely will visit again when we're in Manchester again.

My second time visiting Vertigo, the first time was at the Media City, Salford Quays branch. It is a much smaller establishment than the one at Media City, and on last visits in Manchester, I have struggled to get in the door!
Lucky, a quiet, early, damp Manchester Sunday, I managed to miss the crowds! Sunday Brunch Day! I ordered a coffee and the full Vertigo breakfast. Sausage, home made beans, ‘scrambled’ tofu, grilled tomato, mushrooms, hash browns, and a sourdough toast.
Firstly, the coffee was one of the best I have ever had in Manchester. It was truly an excellent thing. Rich and flavoursome. Full marks. It is worth popping in just for a takeaway. In honesty, the breakfast was mildly behind that at Salford. Unseasoned, the tofu was a bit of a let down. The plate was very cold, which meant the breakfast brunch was soon cold too. Neither here nor Salford give you any spread for the dry sourdough toast. It’s a but dry on its own. It’s a personal thing, but I’d much prefer some granary over the sourdough. I just felt the Salford breakfast was generally ahead on all counts. Not by a lot, it is still excellent. But still.
Service was excellent. Pleasant, friendly, polite and prompt. The biggest issue here is trying to get in! Excellent all round. Despite my nit picking!

Lovely food and staff. Everything was super tasty, and the satay skewers were almost indistinguishable from chicken. My favourite thing was the bao buns. Will come back (really want to try the breakfast)
Z. P.
Delicious vegan food. Good portions and prices. I chose a small soup of the day and a sandwich. Very quick service. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Can definitely recommend this place for a quick lunch.
P. L.
Wholesome salad bar, and the brownies looked so moist. I quite enjoyed the cold food, but the staff was probably overworked. I might come back to try something hot next time.

Amazing vegan food!! Come here if you're in Manchester, the food is so good, freshly made and great value for money. 1 small plate, 1 large plate and a drink all for £17 - big portion sizes too! Wish we had longer in Manchester to come and try their breakfast and lunch too!
C. R.
Really delicious vegan + gluten free dhal - I was only a bit sad because the curry was so tasty and it could have done with a little more curry and a little less rice (to be a little less carb heavy, especially for the price). Really refreshing melon smoothie. Decent coffee blend but the soya cappuccino served was more of a latte (needed more foam). Staff were attentive and helpful so thank you for that too :) (Photos taken after I tucked in because it looked so good!) Would probs be 4.5 / 5 if I could rate that!
M. B.
Staff was lovely and welcoming but the food was not nice. Dishes were soaked in coriander that made everything taste soapy. The smoothie was class though.
S. K.
Amazing food, great service. Peanut and sweet potato daal was 💯 😍
A. S.
Awesome plant based food, nice staff, good music, nice decor, great for people watching, 100% recommend
K. H.
First time eating here and can’t wait to come back! Had the Sausage Roll & Side Salad and it was a taste sensation!! Fresh, tasty, healthy and good portions exactly what a decent lunch should be. Thank you SO much! We will be back.
A. A.
Three stars because I expected a lot more. The burger wasn’t great at all and the fries standard. Considering the amount of vegan burgers available out there this place disappoints a bit. The price was bit over the top too which didn’t help. I’ll try something else there next time since it all looked amazing.

Great little cafe serving vegetarian food. Had a pulled jack fruit chilli. Very tasty. Most importantly it’s freshly cooked with only natural ingredients. There arent many eateries you could say you felt good after having a tasty meal.
We went back for a cake and coffee after the meal. And they didn’t disappoint either.
Highly recommend.
K. P.
Absolutely delicious. Feels like it should be a thousand calories but somehow it’s all plants. The servers were super lovely too. I always get a warm buzz out of this place!
D. D.
Never tried before this place and I've been always curious to get some meal. I got a great and fantastic takeaway box salad. So simple but so delicious and tasteful. The staff is very helpful and kind. Worth to try if you are around Manchester.

Vegan review:
Wanted to eat here for ages after seeing the stall at Manchester’s vegan Christmas markets.
I had the mac and ‘cheese’ to start which was so filling. And the chilli for main plus the passion shoot smoothie. Tried a bite of the rocky road cake - my friends all loved it.
Love fully vegan eateries, I’ll be back!
S. D.
Amazing food! Lovely staff, good price/quality
And as soon as you stand outside the restaurant the smell of food seduces you!
The pancakes are from another world!
Just one little thing, because of the main door not being closed properly it can get a little bit cold inside.
100% Recommended!
G.
Really tasty food! The mac and cheez was delicious, and I HIGHLY recommend the red velvet latte and cherry brownies. Yum!
M. R.
Cute little vegan spot in Manchester! Limited seating but they do have wifi and daily treats. Tried the cheezburger which was great, although the brioche bun was cold. The lemon blueberry cake was very good as well. Would recommend checking this place out. They even have an evening pre-theatre special.
J. F.
Very nice spot for great vegan food. Portions may vary, so make sure to check before ordering. Place can be a bit cold as their door doesn't close properly.
Delicious avo on toast and the kale juice is a must. Sweet place, good vibes.
E. W.
I loved it. I'll come soon. I had the coffee with coconut milk and surprisingly was great as well! I ate a lot for £15. And the bread is 🤤
S. B.
Great experience! I enjoyed a pre-theatre menu with 1 glass of wine, 1 main and 1 app for £15! Great deal!
I had the seitan skewers and highly recommend!
Service was excellent and the vibe was relaxed.
J. G.
Went today for dinner, was very excited as I had read great things about it.
I ordered the food, and because it was a small and large plate - it came out separately. I had finished my dinner by time my daughters arrived.
I wasn’t impressed to see the chef eating at the same time as making our dinner. He washed/sanitised his hands and then wiped it over his jeans.
The waitress wore her mask over her mouth only.
It could be much better. There are many vegan places in Manchester- I would suggest you research places to eat first xx
S. W.
Yum! So happy to find this place on my trip to Manchester - delicious sandwiches and falafel bowl, and the brownie was ace. Great (and really hot) coffee too. Beautiful and calm interior and super lovely staff. Couldn’t recommend enough!
J. R.
Burger was juicy and tangy sauce was lipsmacking. A relaxed little place. Moving on to the sietan dish. Yum f'ing yum. Red velvet cake next. May explode and die. But I'll die happy :)
M. J.
I am a regular customer. The food is nice, fresh, healthy and not loaded with sugar. Nevertheless, the service is not the best. A couple of months ago I took a friend of mine to that place as I really wanted to show him the food, but we left quite disappointed. We had to wait for 15 minutes and the restaurant wasn't even full. However, this did not stop me from returning, but service are still quite rude.
J. M.
A 100% plant based gem in the heart of Manchester. With lots of healthy and tasty options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Oh, and the coffee is really good.
A. S.
The service was very nice and friendly and the food on point! I had a bagel with avo and sausage and blueberry cake which was very light and tasty. Definitely will come back and would recommend.
S. C.
I love this little place! The staff are lovely and the food is superb. Fully Vegan.
J.
I've been several times now, and each time it has been outstanding! The food is delicious- great flavours and really nice quality, something to suit everyone and has lovely options. Staff are incredible too, which makes the cherry on top
C. L.
1st Visit Today. I'm not a Vegan or Vegetarian. However. I thoroughly enjoyed the food, and will definitely be returning
a. p.
Great cakes and Coffee, just don't sit near the door on a cold day as it does not auto close (broken?) so people leave it open all the time :-( Sit near the back for maxc warmth :-)
J. R.
Absolutely amazing food. I ordered on Toogoodtogo and they gifted me with a mighty selection of pastas, salads, sandwiches and soups. I would recommend all of it especially the avocado sandwich dipped in whatever the soup of the day was (pumpkin and potato I think)
Thanks to all the friendly staff there!
M. J.
Had such a banging lunch/dinner here that we came back the next day for breakfast. Food was great and well priced, the scrambled tofu with the breakfast was hands down the best scrambled tofu I’ve ever had and all the staff that we met were so lovely. Whenever we’re in Manchester we’ll be taking a trip to vertigo for sure!
A. R.
Returned here two years after my last visit to Manchester - so glad it has survived the pandemic! The menu has only gotten better, so glad I came back
Y. B.
One of the first places I visited after moving to Manchester, and it didn’t disappoint! All of their plant-based food is to die for and the coffee is amazing. Best of all are the cakes and brownies which are all sourced locally and looked super fresh and tasty. Shout out to The team at the Cross Street branch who made my day with their service and smiles! A must!
A. K.
Been here for breakfast and for an afternoon snack. The full English and Vertigo Royale were banging. The iced ruby latte was right up my street (and I hate beetroot but this didn't taste of it). Had a slice of cake and smoothie and both were really nice, the cake was light yet moist which can be hard to get right when vegan. Wish we weren't too full to return for dinner, but will be back if we're in Manchester again!
R. C.
Delicious food, welcoming staff that's all you need to run a successful establishment. And they deserve a gold star for service and hospitality
U. S.
Food decent and vegan.
Poor service staff not very attentive in this branch. Had to go up and order no one came to serve me and no body checked up on how I was doing during my meal.
Restaurant not designed very well as some of the other branches in Manchester.
Give the first street branch a try instead much better
T. H.
Found Vertigo not long before they closed for the night, but still had a most excellent burger and fries. A great little space right in the heart of Manchester. Shame there wasn't the time to stay longer!
H. H.
Cute place, nice tableware, very tasty food, served fast and high quality. Good mix of junk and healthy options. Very good value. 👌
J.
Delicious plant based food. I had the falafel Buddha bowl and my fella had the peanut butter and sweet potato dhal (I'll be having that next time). Oat lattes and a slice of Biscoff cake to share. Very pleasant staff 😀 Would recommend.
C. T.
Such a great vegan spot! If you know your vegan food in Manchester this place is famed! Had a lovely scrambled tofu on toast!
r. w.
Came here in winter just before lockdown so it may have changed now somewhat. The food was soo lovely and the prices really reasonable but the tables were rediculously small, the place is small but there was room for larger tables than those! Couldn't fit a plate and a drink on there for two people nevermind three! They had the door wide open so we were freezing cold and shivering. I know it was covid times but the government didn't require doors to be kept wide open! They refused to close it and didnt have sufficient heating. After the food was served to us in a rush it was cold instantly. The lights were too bright. No music. Lovely food even though cold but a terrible atmosphere, zero ambiance.
B. M.
I went to fish and not to camp. People were very friendly but I did think that tenner to fish one all pool was a bit over the top
Redhill Farm,Monmouth is only six quid and you get fed up catching Carp there. Plenty of small.fish though will.keep the kids happy at a fish a chuck.
T. A.
Amazing, cute little vegan cafe. A nice varied menu, gorgeous food and reasonably priced - what more could you ask for!
C. R.
Great little place, the staff are friendly and they have great choice for lunch! The sandwich of the day was tasty but I've put a star less as the bread was very stale, and the crust inedible it was so hard. It was a good price as I got 50% off with the gov scheme but I don't think quality should be sacrificed with discount. I'd try it again if I was in the area, so I would recommend, just maybe check how fresh the bread is!
B. N.
Had the dhaal, a Burger & the soup/sandwich combo (not all myself!). Very tasty & reasonable prices. Not vegan ourselves (95% veggie) but that could tip us over the edge
S. D.
Fantastic takeaway. We got the collection only sharing deal which was really good value. The mac and cheese is divine and the flavours of the sweet potato curry are flawless. Would really recommend this!
J. T.
Always come here for birthdays or significant days. The coffee is top quality compared to other cafés and the food is delicious. I'd HIGHLY recommend the eggs Benedict!
A.
Ate here recently tasty food, Portions are great for the pricing definitely would recommend it.
E. T.
Falafel bowl was really good!
H. W.
This place is amazing, i had the breakfast bagel and it was so good. The coffee was also great, the place has a really lovely atmosphere and i couldnt feel more welcome with the staff, definitely coming again!
K.
I was suggested to go to this place by someone on a Sunday lunchtime, and it was lovely. I had the bagel with the cheesy sourcraut type topping and it hit the spot.
Will be coming back now often!
Great customer friendly service from the lady who works there too
K. P.
Not a huge variety of choice but the food was delicious.
J. P.
Great fresh vegan food. Really cheap and great value for money. Staff are friendly and menu is varied and really tasty
R. M.
Superb in every way! I've been to Vertigo a number of times and have never been disappointed in any aspect of it. The staff are really helpful and friendly and seem to enjoy their job. You can sense they have a real passion for the food they create and care about individual customers. The food is always delicious and unlike other vegetarian/vegan eateries in Manchester is exceptional value for money. You can get a delicious salad or burger or main course for under £7. The takeaway boxes of mixed salads for £5 are delicious too. Portion sizes are generous and you will leave full. The cakes/desserts are gorgeous too and the coffee is excellent. The smoothies/shakes are refreshing and great value too. The ambience of the place is relaxed and pleasant. Vertigo is becoming increasingly popular (although itself on the bijou side) but well worth the wait for a table. I cannot recommend Vertigo highly enough. I wish the company and all who work there every success with Vertigo and am confident it will go from strength to strength. Congratulations in creating a much needed affordable, relaxed vegan restaurant in Manchester.
I look forward to my next visit!
S. P.
Food was lovely, few issues with temperature of food but staff couldn't have been more helpful and nice about it. Cake is out of this world amazing, both the red velvet and oreo cake blew my mind 😍
G. S.
Lovely little place. Really tasty food. Some unique scrummy parts of the full English, like the homemade beans and tofu eggs. The only thing that they could look to improve is the wait time, took 30 minutes to get our food but we weren't in a rush so it didn't really affect us. Will be going here again if in the area.
M. F.
Excellent food and service. Delicious food and the staff were amazingly helpful. Good price too. Would definitely recommend
J. V.
An amazing food selection of food here. Unfortunately the cheeze and leek pie had sold out though. Suppose it just means I have to make another visit though. I had the soup (tomato and chilli - nice and spicy) with soda bread. The soda bread was gorgeous. Then had the Bus off cake - it was a huge slice and I almost couldn't eat it all but there was no way I was going to be defeated by cake. Staff were lovely and friendly. I only have one thing that I can say wrong about this place and that is that it was far too warm. We were all ready for some cool fresh air by the time we had finished. I have been back again but for take out and can recommend the pecan brownie too. Definitely worth a visit, so get yourselves down to Vertigo and support a plant based eatery 🌱
R. W.
First time we went today, not a massive menu which was easier to make a decision, food was hot, really tasty, the first plant based meal I've had from a takeaway,I had the cheeseburger and fries, ill definitely go back when I'm in town.
I. H.
I went to vertigo today with my husband for my birthday and it was amazing. I've tried many different burgers but theirs is the best I've ever had. I will definitely be going again even if it's to get take out.
C. M. S.
This is one of my favourites places in town. Amazing food, friendly staff, cosy space. Always great choices for lunch or tea.
And if you visit you definitely need to try the cherry brownie is the best.
K. G.
Popped in to get a coffee whilst I was waiting for someone. Very nice coffee, very hot which is great, and the staff were very nice, polite and friendly. Hoping to go back and have a bite to eat soon.
A. T.
Great quality plant-based food and drink. Nice coffees with choice of various plant milks, variety of salads (salad bar), small, but interesting selection of main dishes, including curries, soups and pub style food like macaroni cheese. The service is nice and friendly. I would highly recommend for a quick and nice dinner or lunch.
F. W.
Had dinner at the First Street Restaurant last night. Service was good, very friendly staff. Food was promptly from the open kitchen and was delicious. Sadly we didn't have room for dessert but the cakes looked incredible. Looking forward to going back.
P. S.
I had the Korean Bao Buns. The seitan filling was excellent and the sauce was lovely and rich. 2 for £6, which I thought was good value. Will return.
C.
Extremely warm inside. Lady at counter was quite pushy when I came in, it was my first time so I just wanted to look around; at the board, menu, the sandwiches, pastries, veggies.. She kept asking if it was for eat in or takeaway, when I mumbled 'eat in' (still looking around because everything looks so good) she said I can sit down and she'll bring the menu. When I sat down it took ages for someone to bring a menu. Nevertheless the menu options are great and food very tasty.
J. H.
Too small for the staff to work efficiently but still did a great job of the food, mushrooms were incredible hash browns were a little soggy :) (pic missing a tomato and most of a mushroom :D)
J. H.
Amazing food! Great to find a vegan cafe just across from my hotel! I normally struggle to find decent vegan food when I’m working away from home!
Very friendly staff, great range of food! I know where I’ll be eating for the rest of my stay in Manchester 😃
s. r.
Really friendly staff, lovely atmosphere. Great to support independent cafes rather then chains, especially those that cater for vegans more widely. 😊 smoothies were delicious
P. V.
we need more places like this in Manchester, but they need to do better than this. venue is ok, a tad cramped and a bit twee, but who cares? The coffee is great, and all the vegan milk alternatives as you would expect. The food, I regret to say, was disappointing, as was the menu in general. Things on toast is the theme, I took the avocado on sourdough, expecting a little more than just guacamole on sourdough, but that’s basically what it is, with a sprinkle of parsley and jalapeño. The garlic mushrooms with spinach & garlic was better, but there’s so much better available in the vegan world and places like this need to be showing the world that we (vegans) don’t live on spinach and avocado (and I don’t mean vegan junk food). We will return, but I hope the menu improves...
R. C.
I've just had a meal here and I throughly enjoyed it even though I am not a vegetarian or vegan. I will definitely be going to check out the larger one.
S. W.
Great plant based café in mcr centre. The salad bowl was fresh and really tasty. You can get hot and cold food, coffee and cake. The staff are friendly and helpful. Bright, clean, and simple interior. Went on a weekday lunch, was busy, but not impossible.
E. C.
Firstly I would like to say that the food was good and healthy so I would still recommend this place, I think we just had a bad experience. We ordered and paid for our food at the counter for lunch then waited at least 25 minutes until I had to ask where our food was because we had to get back to work. They then told us the daal wasn't actually ready and that by then they had actually sold out of the sandwich we'd already paid for, even though when we ordered there were at least 2 left! They did give us our money back and offered us a free cake, I went up at the end for the free cake but the waiter who had offered it just looked at me blankly! So no free cake. And there was a hair in the food.
E. G.
Delicious vegan food, and a wide selection of cakes 😋
C. S.
Hands down the best food I have eaten in a long time, a decent selection and all of it is absolutely delicious and speedy delivery! Regularly order from here and always will!
L.
Had a veggie burger with sweet potato salad. The burger was incredible. Had eaten here before but forgotten how good it is. Can't wait to go again.
S. H.
So tasty
T. N.
Tasty food, nice staff and atmosphere and not overpriced like most other vegan joints. The cheeseburger and soup were very tasty. Tables are very snall tho and even two people were cramped on a single table.
l.
Good variety of tasty meat-free food
I recommend the Mac & Cheese
Pie a little underwhelming for the highest priced item; pickled cabbage needs some work to balance out the sourness
E. E.
Best vegan food I have ever eaten. The cheese burger was amazing! Full of texture, juicy and tasty. Can't wait to return!
B. J.
Lovely place. Lovely food. WONDERFUL TEAS. Lovely service. BUT altho all good was very tasty and well presented the falafel was weird. Big chunks of raw sweet potato in the falafel which looked good but was WIERD! Won't stop us returning. V enjoyable. Both had salads with rice.
T. L.
Hearty and delicious. The dhaal was yummy!
C. G.
Wow! What a discovery great tasting 'latte' and the best selection of salads. The vegan burger blew my mind. Stunning little jewel in the foodie crown of Manchester *****
z. m.
The BEST vegan burger hands down.
Lovely staff. Waitress who served me was very attentive and friendly.
Reasonable prices and top quality food
S. H.
Had lunch here with my parents and we all loved it. Nice atmosphere, great food, very friendly and helpful staff, and very reasonably priced. Will be back again!
K. A.
Good tasty portions, lovely staff, but the free lemon water it's tap water🤢, and the burger was too salty and vinegary (although thumbs up for gherkins).
C. S.
Lovely little plant based restaurant. Delicious food and friendly service! Highly recommend their warm brownie with ice cream! 😍 My only suggestion would be to serve chai Lattes too..
S. B.
Such a lovely place to eat, I've been here a number of times and always enjoyed it. The food is beautiful and the atmosphere is great. would recommend 10/10.
S. C.
Delicious and nutritious real food with friendly and helpful staff. Can be a little bit of a wait at peak times so plan this into your visit. Recommend sitting in the window and watching the world go by.
R. X.
Wonderful experience here with my friend,a lot of good memories!😄
M. H.
Nice vegan food, imaginative recipes and friendly staff. Even the cakes and pastries are vegan too. I've eaten here twice and I will always eat here whenever I'm in the city.
L. M. C.
I had a lovely Sweet Potato Falafel bowl. The Falafel plus the accompanying brown rice, spinach and beetroot hummus were all really tasty.
C. G.
Excellent food and drink with generous portions. Very friendly staff. Recommended!
K. P.
Lovely little place. Staff are lovely and friendly.
Had the festive pie with mash and it was delicious. Definitely eat here again!
M. K.
Nice food and cake but a little expensive for the everyday. Used my track and trace form to sign me up to their regular mailing list, which is not cool.
B. j.
Amazing food and drinks, amazing service and a lovely cosy atmosphere. Everytime I go the food gets better and better the staff are charming and polite. The cakes are to die for as well!
Y. R.
Tasty vegan food at a reasonable price. Staff friendly and cosy atmosphere. Just wish customers would close the door behind them as it gets draughty.
L. S.
had a box of sweet potato falafel and hummus to take away, it was really tasty, quick, cheap, such a lovely place I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Manchester!
D. S.
Visit nearly every time I'm in Manchester

M. S.
Really good food. Had the cheese burger and it was dope ! Rad food, good value cool location. Right in the centre of Manchester. Stoked.
S. F.
Great vegan fayre - a nicely balanced menu with a few things you don’t see in other vegan cafes - and very friendly staff!! A little gem.
J. K.
It's quite expensive, the coffee was served warm not hot, and the size of the cake was to small for the price I feel. Although it was yummy
E. E.
Very delish three bean chilli! And kale juice, very good value for money. Can’t wait to keep coming here. Also staff are very friendly :)
i. a.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere at this super clean cafe. Friendly and helpful staff. 👌
C. G.
Friendly staff, very delicious food, allowed us to bring our disabled dog in with us. Water is in glass bottles...not plastic. 💚
A. O.
Perfect vegan place ! Tasty food, friendly service, nice simple ambience, reasonable prices. Thank you, Vertigo team! Keep it up :)
J.
Great food but prices have gone up recently. 25% more than on the website for my favourite dish.
H.
Food was very nice and staff attentive but there was no air con and it was sweltering heat so that made my visit unpleasant but I'm assured they are getting it soon hence the 4 * for now.
A. C. W.
Lovely lunch, great home made food, plenty of choice and friendly service. Lovely spiced thai cauliflower soup.
p. m.
Had breakfast on Saturday morning with family. Good food, great staff at a reasonable price ... but bloody noisy coffee machine.
A. B.
Best plant based restaurant I've tried - the whole menu is brilliant and really well priced!
A. E.
Good food and the price was right for this. Only let down by the cramped interior. Not sure what they could do about this other than getting a larger premises which would cost quite a lot.
A. R.
great food and super friendly customer service, will visit again! <3
B. T.
Very delicious vegan food 😋
a. p.

A. C.
Great cafe with great food at a good price. Would recommend booking since seating is limited
T. S.
They don't charge you extra for not destroying the planet with ya coffee x
P. M.
Lovely food at a very reasonable price! Comfortable and casual atmosphere
M. C.
One of if not the best vegan lunch take out places in Manchester. Check out the rockie road cake too.

Good vegan cafe food.... was very hot in the cafe and obviously they need larger premises.... seems very popular
