The fried chicken thigh that's comes with some of the dishes is really good. Light crispy skin and tender and juicy inside. All the rice and noodle dishes we tried were all very tasty. The portions are big. You can't really tell from most of the photos but everything is a bigger portion than you would normally expect. I would consider this a good interpretation of Chinese food. Not particularly westernised.

Tasty food and friendly service! Came here on a Wednesday evening for the hainannese chicken but was unfortunately sold out. I had beef tendon and brisket with rice and a red bean iced drink. The food is flavourful, portion is big for an affordable price. The tendon is soft almost melts in your mouth, totally recommend this dish. The red bean drink is a bit too sweet for my liking, if you like evaporated milk, you’re going to love it! The place was very busy during evening, there’s plenty options to choose from on the menu and the vibe is great, all the staffs are super nice as well! Plus, they gave you free prawn crackers!

📍Amaysia Restaurant, Newcastle (Chinatown) What's better than having family and warm homely food in a cold country, especially when you're already missing Malaysia? (haha.. I know it's been a short while only, but I really miss Malaysia's food!) The owner of Amaysia happens to be from Penang, and the cuisine served was pretty darn good! Ah.. Having Soya Cincau, some Teh Ais… whoa, hands down, good stuff.. And the fried chicken wings were crisp and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our Mala Hotpot. With quality ingredients, premium beef slices and lotus roots, it was great food and great family time. It's lovely to know that we have food in Newcastle that has very much semblance to home. Even better to be having family around us. I'll definitely be coming back for more.

Went here on a date with my girlfriend. Really busy had to wait a few minutes to get in, amazing service though, large portion sizes, fairly cheap for a restaurant. Good menu and interior design. Would recommend 👌

Food was delicious and well served. Restaurant was quite busy when we arrived, for good reason. I like healthy and hygienically prepared food. I had ordered King prawns and broccoli. It was great (broccoli could have been a bit softer but that's a subjective judgement - some people like it crisp). I hope all of their food is like that.

I have been here so many times as the food is amazing, its an Asian fusion. The menu has pictures of the food and drinks so you know what your getting. The portions are huge and flavoursome. My fave is the stewed lamd curry noodle soup, stewed beef with noodles and black bean crispy noodles. All the drinks are bottled, including the coke and soda water and beer.

General: The food was good, no problems with the staff either. Specifics: Ordered the salt and pepper tofu which in my opinion was great tasting and full of flavour. It wasn't extremely crispy on the inside but I had no problem with it. Tried the chicken drumstick ramen (I don't remember the name specifically) and that was nice too. I quite enjoyed the beef ho fun (don't remember what it was called on the menu) as well. The noodles tasted great and had a pleasant chewy texture. Staff: I've heard that the staff might be prejudiced or racist, but being from an Asian family and eating there I can say my experience with the staff was fine.

Simply the best Chinese we have found in the North East. We have been trying for the last 15 years to find one. Every dish is what you hope for and their specialist soft drink cocktails are amazing. We love the mango chicken, chicken in yellow bean with cashew and sate chicken. I will add photos at a later date, I always forget and just eat the meal. The website shows photos of many of the dishes. These are accurate and give a great representation of what you get. Look at the photos on the menu these are accurate, we have tried about 20 dishes and never been disappointed.

Super delicious authentic Malaysian, Singaporean dishes. Singapore Hokkien Mee, Char Kwey Teow etc. So yummy and price is reasonable. There are a variety of drinks to special drinks to choose from. Good services, staffs are friendly and nice ambience. I will definitely recommend and eat there again.

The food is so fresh and tasty tried a few things from the menu over the last 2 nights but favourite has got to be the stewed beef curry. The meat was so tender and the flavours were amazing. It was our work's Christmas night out (it's tradition for us to do this in January!) and we had a party of 10. Most of us were dropped off at the door or had caught the bus into town although there is a multi storey car park on Stowell Street. Everyone had their glasses refilled or bottles replaced as needed and the food was very nice. Everyone had ordered something different with some starters being shared with each other, as well as our mains. I had salt and pepper chicken, which was delicious, with egg fried rice. My colleague had some curry sauce so I shared that with her to enhance my meal. This is no fault if the restaurant but I never know what to order when it comes to Asian food so I was winging it a bit; but vert pleased that someone had ordered a curry sauce! We were all so full that no one ordered desserts, a couple had coffees and the rest of us, more alcoholic drinks. The party started to disperse as it was time to catch buses or greet their lifts. Me and 2 others were last to leave. My partner found it difficult to park up outside to wait while we paid the bill although there are some stopping places, they were taken up by taxis. A very pleasant evening, the staff were all very nice and attentive, the toilets were clean although a bit of a trek, and I'm led to believe you could have partaken in karaoke in another part of the restaurant!! Thank you for a lovely evening, I will be back soon.

Took my partner for his birthday last night although the food was amazing the whole experience was let down by the poor customer service. They were busy but it's not a huge place, our starters came before the drinks. The drinks took over 40 minutes and we had finished our starters way before they arrived, mine came another 10 minutes after my partners. We had ordered fried rice with our mains which didnt turn up so I had to get up and go and ask for it. When we asked for the bill the waitress forgot to go and get it so we were left waiting again. The couple next to us came in half an hour after us and recieved much faster/efficient service from a different waitress and left at the same time. There was lots of waiting staff so there was no excuse to have been so slow and forgetful. Will be going back to give it another try as the food is amazing but might stick to going during the day when it's less busy but even then in the past you can be waiting ages for your drinks order.

Lovely food, especially King Prawn Chow mein and King prawn and cashew nuts, if you want fried rice with this dish it comes at a cost of an extra £3. Free crackers to start but not sure of flavour, definitely not prawn but of an acquired taste. We walked in at 16.45 , very friendly staff by 6.00 the restaurant was full so would recommend booking. Reasonably priced, will definitely go back.

Food good. Service little hmmm. Guy forgot to add the take out order to our bill that we ordered during our meal. Paid part of the bill to be told we need to pay more. As the take out part was under £10 we was told we couldnt pay by card but we had spent over this during our meal. Tbf he asked the manager but was told no. Common sense not a strength of the manager. As we have no cash we had or order more to make the bill over £10.
