Reviews of Five Guys Newcastle

🍔FIVE GUYS. All the hype in Malaysia over the new branch that opened in Genting Highlands, where people queue in the morning and finally enter the burger chain restaurant in evening!
When I saw this store in Newcastle's central area, I just HAD TO TRY IT.
🦌'Seperti Rusa Masuk Kampung' (Malaysian Idiom for newbies like us entering a brand new place)
That was exactly me, with my eyes wide open.
The experience was amazing! 😂
🧀I ordered the Classic Cheeseburger - I had the option of choosing ANY 15 toppings. I chose all of it. Haha.. It was really really delicious. The beef patties were rich and juicy, the sauces were amazing.
🥛As for the Milkshakes, we had the option of choosing ANY 10 mix-ins. You could choose all of them if you wanted. I'd say that the milkshakes are lovely, but very much on the sweet side.
🍟Fries with the sauces, especially with the MALT VINEGAR, was a favourite of mine. Something our Malaysian Fast Food chains should consider implementing.
Lovely to have experienced Five Guys Burgers and Milkshakes! 😁😁 I wonder if it's the same experience in Malaysia.
*I must mention that Mafalda and Shawn, both staff at Five Guys, were the most accommodating staff, which added greatly to the 5 star experience. Kudos to them for being the best!
Cheers from Docs On Vacay

Really nice food and friendly customer service. A short wait for meal, however I didn't mind waiting and it be done properly. Good selection of drinks. Good view upstairs. A bit crowded but to be expected on a Saturday which was also a match day in Newcastle city centre. However, was still able to be seated. Only downside is that the special mayo hadn't been refilled and the staff were working really hard so didn't want to bother them.
M. M.
Excellent joint. They use fresh (usually, local) produce. Potatoes are cut in house. Milkshake is nice and rich, can be too sweet for some. Burgers are very filling and the fries portions are very generous. They always overfill the bag with even more fries!
However, price is a bit on the steep side, but it is an international chain. Can't complain there.
S. B.
Canny amazing like! Came here a few times with mates and this time with my man and the burgers beat any like 😍especially ya granny's burgers. You won't be disappointed and omg the chips and milkshakes! Outstanding ... like a posh McDonalds but fresh and homemade nee freezer stuff. Don't listen to the low star reviews they're just jealous they can't make burgers like that at home or they're snobs idk .
J.
Excellent burgers, fries and milkshakes. More expensive than your normal fast food business, though the quality of the food represents the price well. Very clean and friendly staff, would recommend for an occasional treat.

My top 3 burger joints in Newcastle! Burgers are freshly prepared right in front of you and are always amazing. The fries are fresh too but differ slightly every visit so sometimes they are amazing and sometimes they are okay. Having the drink machines and free refills is something I wish everywhere had!
J. S.
It's been a very long time since I visited Five Guys and it was like the first drink after a walk in the desert. The burgers were good, thick and juicy. The extras, fresh and tangy. The chips were well cooked and dusted with super spicy Cajun flavour. Well worth the wait! 🍔🍟👍

I visited for the first time with a group of friends who had all been before. The menu isn't extensive so isn't too overwhelming but both they and the guy serving was able to help me decide. I went for the burger and small fries and love that you can individually pick your toppings. The food took a little while to be prepared, which is expected when it's all fresh. The free nuts while you wait is a nice touch too. The drinks machine is pretty nifty with all the different flavour variations. When the food came out the guy made sure to check we collected the right food and was really friendly.
The burger itself was absolutely delicious and the portion of fries was huge and equally lovely. The burger was juicy and had great flavour. The fries had their skin on and tasted a bit like those from a chip shop, they were lush. Although it is expensive, it's totally worth it for a bit of a treat.
C. R.
Bit to pricey but nice tho 👌
M. S.
Everything here is good from shakes to burgers. If you order fries a small one would be enough for you. Staff is friendly too and they explain you menu. Only thing i didn't liked is the seating arrangement. Which can be better.
x. c.
The little bacon burger is spicy but nice! It's sooo great that they have little version of burger. I bought it for 6.5GBP. The environment is clean and dry. Will try their milkshake next time.
I. H.
🌟 Always freshly made and delicious burgers. Choose any toppings as you like.
🌟 Always fresh & crispy fries & tasty milkshakes.
🌟 Always great service, kind & friendly staff (was offered a free drink at my first visit 😉 & free “burger upgrade” once & free “fries upgrade” once).
🌟 A spacious place with lots of seats.
🌟 Great Location — the best burger in the Newcastle city center.
S. L.
The food here cannot be faulted in my opinion. Great fresh burgers, with lots of options for toppings. Amazing milk shakes and great range of flavours. The fries may not be to everyone's taste, they almost feel double cooked but they are well seasoned, plenty of them and I love them. But everything is double the price you'd pay anywhere else. I will also add the service was great. Very friendly and better than any other fast food restaurant I've visited recently.
N. H.
Great food but in my opinion slightly over priced. Staff very friendly too
C.
Nothing negative to be fair, burgers were lovely as was the shake. I've just eat allover the world and I've had better...
D. G.
Amazing food but seriously no point in pre-ordering - Got there for my time slot and still had to wait 10 minutes.
H. P.
One of the best place to have Oreo Milkshake. Its mouth watering delicious milkshake soothes your soul🤩
#Worth_the_price
S. B.
I'm stunned at the burgers and chips never tasted such lovely burgers and the chips out of this world added bonus a cup you can refill definitely be back well worth the money.
u.
Burgers are good, medium chips definetly ment for 2, (allthough a little over salted)
Good for once and while treat compared to other fast food
I. L.
Ah I love this place. Great service, great food and yes it's like McDonald's but better.....
A. K.
Quick service and the food was great, tables were clean and plenty of room to sit and enjoy meal
B. J.
Really great burgers! The jalapenos are slightly different (they're more like green peppers). The collection process is absolute chaos when it is busy!
k. r. w.
People always say five guys is overpriced and personally I think that statement is farcical. There is not a place where you can be served a better burger than here. It is absolutely immense and personally I think it’s quite cheap for the quality of food you receive. The chips are perfectly salted and the mayonnaise is strangely extra good. The burgers are simply delicious and totally customisable. However I must agree with the drinks cup being slightly pricey i’d just go next door and buy a few bottles from Greggs instead. But on the whole it’s pretty flawless.
R. W.
Forget McDonald's and Burger King, this is the only fast food burger place worth considering
J. G.
A lovely place for burgers and cooked perfectly.
Will be going again soon.
G. F.
This place exceeded all my expectations... The food was lovely! Burgers were the best I've had in the UK, far superior to any fast food type of establishment. It was absolutely delicious!! So why the 3 stars? It's so expensive it's actually ridiculous! Just been with a mate, 2 burgers, 2 milkshakes and we shared fries... £32!!!!!!!! You can so easily go to a restaurant, sit down with cutlery and table service and spend less. To spend £32 and eat foil wrapped burgers with your fingers is crazy! If this was nearer £20 for 2 people, McDonald's and BK would be out of business in 6 months, you'd never go anywhere else, but at these prices, I'll probably stick to eating in restaurants. Thank you for the lovely food though!
Q. R.
Okay, so Five Guys is expensive for a fast food place. The food though, the food is amazing. I've recently had the little bacon cheeseburger with jalapeños, grilled onions, lettuce and BBQ sauce. The burger was delicious enough to warrant the £7 price tag.
A.
The most delicious milkshake ever. Not for the faint hearted, it's incredibly thick with any choice of additions to make your own unique milkshake. They have definitely perfected this, we had malted milk and Oreo. It's a bit pricey for a milkshake, but if you've never had one from here you must try it.
D. V.
Awesome Place Awesome Food Awesome Shakes (Not Sure About The Bacon Shake) My Mate Had One And Said It Was Ok Didn’t Fancy It My Self Would Definitely Recommend
L. M.
May be a but pricey but their chips are the best and they always give you loads of them.
J. P.
Fantastic hamburgers and flavour-full peanut oil-fried french fries. Best fast food in Newcastles...long on taste and calories.
u. k.
If you want best French fries in town please visit Five guy's and milkshake is good.
C. M.
Food milkshakes are superb. Was expecting a more restraint feel as apposed to the fast food environment. More expensive than the other two major esablishments, however the burgers quality reflects the higher price.
C. N.
A better version of Mc Donalds and Burger King. Food was more expensive but portion sizes are big and the fries taste great. They use Uk potatoes and can tell you where the days fries come from. Free refills on drinks, they have dronks machines with a massive selection of pop. Flavours not seen in many places. Would recommend as a treat
J. H.
Great burgers, though pricy. A step above normal fast food.
A. B.
I still think this is like wimpy for hipsters. I would usually expect table service and it cutlery when paying over £18 for a burger, chips and drink but you don't even get a tray to take it to a table. If you're ok with this then the food is lush.
R. B.
Decent quality fast food and much more filling the the standard fast food places
J. A.
Best burger I've ever had. Well worth the prices and the trip out to newcastle! We WILL be returning.
l. t. R. J.
Bit pricey but food was great.
P. D.
First visit food was very tasty and hot burgers to die for to many fries should have just got one portion to share.
S. F.
1st time going and enjoyed it. Will definatly go back again 😊
M. C. S.
Excellent experience at this five guys restaurant. From the service all the way to the juicy burgers. Visited this place during the pandemic for take away and whilst there was a bit of a wait we got free drinks for the extra time. The employees were respectful and nothing we asked for seemed like it was asking too much. When we got home the family all thoroughly enjoyed the burgers and the large helping of fries. It is on the pricey side but justified as a treat.
K. H.
Five Guys is a great fast food burger with excellent customisable toppings and great chips. Be careful if you have a nut allergy as peanuts are everywhere. Veggie option is a grilled cheese with no Veggie burger option currently.
T. C.
Great burger and outstanding service... I travel
Quite a bit and service and friendliness of the staff here are few and far between. It was definitely worth mentioning.
J. G.
Great quality but I still wake up screaming when I remember how much two burgers and chips cost.
A. M.
Great burgers & the best chips ever. Fantastic location to watch the world go by.
S. B.
The bacon cheeseburger was simply amazing.
Ordered regular Cajun chips and it turns out their regular chips are even larger than McDonald's or burger king's large chips. 50 out of 5 stars for the chips!
D. C.
I haven't had a Five Guys in over a year and I was really craving one. Since they're open now, what a better place to go. Went and the queue was quick because of the fast service. Very helpful. Food was given quickly, as someone who used to be a "Fry Guy" I know how the fries should be done. They were to perfection. Cajan fries and regular. The milk shakes too were really tasty, the only problem we both had was the straw disintegrated on both of us...as we only got fries and milk shake this was a massive let down. I think maybe 2 straws per person would need to be better. However o had a great time and I'll definitely be back to Five Guys in the future.
T. P.
Lovely place ,food was really good especially the child such big portions would recommend
C. P.
Great service and tasty food ! The portions are big - small fries seemed massive . Clean and centrally located .
C. L. S.
5 Guys is 5 Guys! Id always put it as a high end Burger King but a step before something like a GBK. Make sure to leave room to for a Milkshake and don't order more than 1 portion of fries. It will easily do 2 people!
J. J.
The burger was really nice a bit expensive but would go back again
J.
These are the best burgers and fries I've ever had and I've had a lot! Their burgers are even nicer than the ones you get at Miller & Carter. A lot of people say Five Guys is just a glorified McDonald's which it kind of is, and unfortunately most branches of Five Guys seem to attract chavs and teenage kids mucking about which I guess they can't help. Table service would probably make it seem a little more upmarket and less like a McDonald's, however what it lacks in dining experience, it more than makes up for with it's food! The unlimited create your own drinks is also a very nice touch, we always go for the peach Fanta Zero.
B.
Just amazing. Pricey but amazing. 🍔
A. C.
I visited Five Guys, Newcastle branch yesterday and had the best experience. I love burgers and hence we chose to stop by at Five Guys. We were served by Gautam and the service was excellent. He gave us some extra fries which just made my day! Would recommend everyone to stop by, it’s worth the amount!
P. L.
From fast food chains this is biggest and badass burger I ever had. I won't even comment on adding beacon to milkshakes and allowing to mix milkshake flavours, or fries portions size because it's just too unreal to put it in words.
C. E.
Excellent food as always. A bit pricey as always.
D. F.
Not necessarily great value for money but a tasty and reliable choice
E. D.
Fries are the best fast food fries hands down and love that you can customise the burgers with a decent selection of toppings, but the veggie/vegan option of fried veg on bread is not great. If they did a vegan burger/patty, it'd be top marks
J. B.
Five Guys is expensive, but from the moment you pick up the burger and feel the quality of even just the bun, you know it was worth every penny.
P. R.
I love Five Guys. It's a little expensive but plenty of food and design your own burger. Buns are better than McDonald's. Even though it was busy still pretty fast service
A. G.
Oh my word the burgers are good! Like really good! It is pricey but you get what you pay for; fully customisable burgers and some of the best fries I've ever had! The guy on the till was very helpful and even have us a few freebies as it was our first time. I can see what all the fuss is about!
A. L.
Not a fan of their burgers and fries but their milkshakes, even though a bit pricey, are amazing
R. B.
It's a nice burger, but not really worth the money. Double the price of bk for a slightly better burger. Botanist does much better as a service meal.
R. X.
Great food… Always well prepared and taste great… Friendly staff members.. recommended!
L.
Very good burger and super large portion of fried
D. R.
Very nice food and burgers are amazing
Bloody pricey though
S. I.
Only place I can find 100% beef hot dogs. Tastes all American, really delicious. Abundant choice of unlimited toppings. Milkshakes are good, but in my own opinion not the best I've had for the price. Fries are sometimes kind of tasteless. Love that they sell beer here, great to wash the dogs down. Burgers aren't half bad, patty was a little dry the few times I've went for the burger. Service crew are always up best and very courteous. Clean place with tonnes of seating options with a second level for those who want more privacy. Very clean bathroom as well.
A. B.
The burgers here are very good and there's a good choice of toppings. The burger style is very classic American. The fries are cooked in is peanut oil and are also very good. The food here isn't healthy by any stretch of the imagination, but if you want a reliably good burger then this is the place to go.
A. Z.
It’s an understatement to say that this is the best burger in the world.
B.
I was drunk and this meal hit the spot.
Not much else to say.
C. L.
It is pricey but delicious. You get so many fries and you can choose whichever burger toppings for free. Me and my boyfriend shared a large fries with our burgers and couldn't even finish them all.
O. S.
Nice burgers but too expensive for what you get
l.
great food but man its expensive good to try but take you card with ya
T.
Nice burgers, but be prepared to take out a mortgage to eat here!
M. S.
Food is absolutely scrumptious - burgers are always juicy and perfect. Fries you could eat till you popped! Staff have always been friendly.
The ONLY thing I would change is the price - the food is lush, but 2 burgers, fries and drinks are in excess of £30+. You do usually pay more for lovely food though I suppose! If it was cheaper, we'd probably go more! 👍🍔
a. a.
Every time I've been to Five Guys service has always been great, staff are friendly and helpful when explaining the menu, staff have a good work flow and always seem to enjoy working no matter if its busy or quiet. All food is fresh and made to order and the turn around time is fairly fast. At first I thought the prices were a little high compared to other fast food restaurant but quickly realised the food is well worth the money as it's always delicious. The atmosphere is always very chill and there's always good music playing. Would definitely recommend visiting. I would say if you're visiting Five guys don't rush, take your time, enjoy the food and appreciate the flavours.
A. W.
Staff were friendly. Tasty food as always :)
A. W.
Nice food - great chips - milkshakes are lovely. Staff are friendly and helpful and the place is clean, bright and airy. Not the cheapest, but not over-priced.
R. O.
Tasty burgers and chips, good selection of drinks but seems over priced for what you get
S. W.
When in Newcastle we called in here for quick, easy and delicious food. Five guys are the children’s go to burger joint. I went in to order and wait for food while the family waited in the car. As tier 3 there was no dine in option.
We ordered two junior burgers, a cheeseburger and a plain burger and a massive portion of fries.
The food was made fresh and promptly. My only (small) quibble was the bottomless drinks were still bottomless and full price. When dining in that makes sense. But for take out it’s an expensive way to buy soft drinks unless you guzzle pop while waiting for your food. Like I say a small quibble that only made a few £ difference to the bill.
a. a.
First time at five guys. Mafalda was so helpful with my order, thank you so much! The milkshake she recommended was delicious! Definitely going again soon:)
J. M.
Burgers and milkshakes are very good but the fries were so salty that they were virtually inedible. Great place for a burger but don’t bother with the fries.
C. W.
Great burger, well cooked, the fries were excellent too and apparently from a local place in Lancashire which is to be applauded.
R. S.
Standard Five Guys experience; quick service and fresh burgers.
More expensive than other fast food burgers but worth it for the quality.
J. T.
Good burgers, great milkshakes. Portions are huge and if you're going to get fries, small is all you'll need. As for milkshakes, you can mix and match your flavours, but peanut butter and banana is where its at. Despite this, the prices are outrageous and you'll get better value elsewhere.
K. C.
Goodbye Macdonalds and Burger King!!!! Also thanks to the lousy 'new' chips and the best ever tasting, fast food chips I have ever eaten at 59 yrs old (no I am not getting paid lol). Helpful staff, clean restaurant, tinkrable menu, never-ending drinks and amazing milkshakes all topped off with stupendous burgers!!!!! I can't wait for my next excuse to go back to Newcastle. Yes it may cost more than either of the aforementioned burger restaurants but quality is worth paying a few bob extra for!
J. R.
I hit this place after a City Hall gig, so it was almost closing time for a Friday night. There was a bit of a queue but nothing outrageous. This was my debut here and overall I was very impressed. Yes, I'd had a billion Stella's before to seriously prime the old appetite but the burger and fries hit the spot. It ain't cheap like, so don't go there skint and there won't be much change from a twenty either. This isn't budget food. Tasty however for sure.
P. L.
The best burgers and milkshakes. Don't take fries unless you are with friends portion size is waaay beyond one person.
G. A. (. t. G.
Fab as a treat.... wee bit expensive but was very good
N. W.
The burgers are incredible but honestly I'd go for the fries alone, which are the best fries you will find (it's the peanut oil). Worth noting that the prices are not similar to takeaway buger places and you're looking at around £30 for 2 x cheeseburgers and fries and a drink. I'm not convinced it's totally worth the money but burger fans will look forward to going back!
P. M.
I liked that it is made there for you, the ingredients are sourced locally and 100% and the subway style of creating the burger. The milkshake was delicious. However, just under £18 for burger, fries and a shake is way overpriced as the burger wasn't that much better than other fast food chains but the fries were nice and you got slightly more than the others. Maybe the price is to do with how they source their ingredients and not just how they position themselves in the market
A.
Yes it's expensive but it's so good! Shakes are amazing, I prefer the burgers over the hotdogs and the fries are really good. Due to the price I hardly go especially when there's so many cheaper alternatives all around it however, it's a nice treat once in a while.
D. B.
Nice burgers, only 4 or the 5 guys were there and whilst waiting for our order they called order 66...
E. H.
Amazing. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Place is clean, tidy and inviting.
But more importantly the burgers are out of this world. Thanks s is my second time in Five Guys and I must say the one in Newcastle is far better than the other one....go for the bacon burger .....
It's nice to see them using local (GB) farmers for potatoes. Well done team....
R. K.
Very good, tasty burgers!
T. T.
Nice feed. Good pleasant staff. Clean and tidy.
J. A.
Arguably the best burger I've had and very good fries/chips. But i will say i nearly had a heart attack at the price. For a fast food place, slow service even when quiet, but everything cooked fresh and was hot. 1 minute walk from Monument Metro station, in the city centre. Overall, a very enjoyable meal which came at a considerably high price.
K. N.
Forget Mcdonalds. They have the best Burgers! Top tier!
Best shake combo: oreos cookie pieces, malted milk, chocolate, peanut butter! It tastes like heaven!
W. O.
Me and the missus had this delivered as we don't live near town and thought we would try it. First things first this is very expensive for what you get. However it is really tasty but I can't justify spending a decent amount of money for something with little quantity.
J. L.
Five Guys definitely has that appeal that makes me crave it now and then. Fries are always top class, milkshakes are great (yes, I dunk fries in it, it is really good, you should try it), burgers are solid although could be juicier.
C. T.
The food is very good quality, with all of the available options, you can truly have your burger your way. The fries are great, probably because they've been cooked in peanut oil.
The price is high but so is the quality.
H. B.
Amazing food, lovely staff, infinite drinks and the fries are to die for
S. K.
A LOT busier than the metro centre branch, but the quality of the food is still great, just a shame about the customers. They should consider moving the drinks and sauces counter away from the pick up as it's so crowded I had to go without sauce because the rude students wouldn't let me through. The staff did well to cope with the rush and the tables were turned around really quickly too.
M. E.
Brilliant burgers! Worth paying for!!
s. f.
FIRSTLY, it is not cheap, fairly expensive and I was by myself.
BUUUUUT, wow the burgers are out of this world, the milk shake was heavenly, and the cajun fries were the best fries I have ever had.
Put the prices to one side and you'll have a magical taste experience, that will make the cost all worth it.
It puts Macdonald's to shame, the guy/girl who takes your order actually takes your money then prepares it in front of you, not premaid, preheated, stood rubbish, but very fresh and expertly made before your very eyes.
Me and wife are planning to go as definitely worth it.
A. H.
Absolutely worth every penny, burgers, chips and shakes are amazing!! Visited on the 16/03 at lunch time and was greated by such a lovely member of staff, said Jack on our receipt, he was polite, friendly and engaging asked were we were from as we're from out of town, seemed very genuine, excellent customer service! Very rare nowadays to find Thanks Jack!! 👌🏻👍🏻
S. B.
It's a shame the wait is so long coz it ruins the food and experience when you eventually do get it.
G. “. G. S.
Excellent food, though rather expensive.
E. G.
Best burger ever and the shakes are fantastic. It would get 5 stars if it wasn't so expensive!!! Over £30 for two burgers, two shakes and one fries?! I suppose it's a deterrent from eating it too often! 🤔
C. M.
Very good, and extremely generous, portions of fries, well seasoned with skin on. The burger toppings are varied and all free,so there is something for everyone. They also offer the option of naked burgers to keep the calories down. The burger patties were overcooked and dry though, and if they weren't, this would have been WOW indeed.
J. S.
Pleasantly surprised on my first trip - gluten-free catered for (either burger without bun or wrapped in lettuce leaves - a good lower calorie alternative too!). Burgers and fries were great - restaurant quality, definitely a step up from the usual fast food places. Seating area was clean and American diner-like. Only complaint was that it was very noisy from music and kitchen alarms, though no worse than McDonald's etc. Would definitely go back
L. P.
Great Store! Five Guys always offers yummy food that makes you go “Oh My Dayum”. Jokes aside, you’ll feel welcome by the friendly staff and, despite the relatively high cost, there is consistency in the high standard of (delicious) food. The fries are served in cups of the size you choose plus a scoop for the bag. If you want a single patty get the “little” size. Going “All the way!” is something you won’t regret.
M.
Always fresh and good but I experienced a different tastes than the one I know from my visits to different five guys around the world. Overall good experience
C. C.
It's high quality burgers, much better then Macdonald's or burger king. The fact every burger is made with the toppings you choose is brilliant.
Fries are incredible too and you get loads of them, drink machine has a silly amount of flavours and unlimited refills.
The only thing stopping getting 5* is the price. Talking £30 ish for 2 people.
B. G.
A Mc Donald's de Luxe, food could be better and portions very small for big money. If you don't know better place that's the one
I. M.
We had milkshakes and chips and it was pretty tasty, just slightly expensive. The chips were real potatoes and not the usual plastic chips one sometimes gets. Very good setup where you order and pick up, they have over 1000 different coke drinks available.
c. t.
Amazing food and super friendly workers :))
l. h.
Surprised when we went in and asked for 2 large refillable drinks and the lady on till said "They'll be on the house" and didn't charge.
Nice little touch.
L. C.
Amazing tasting burgers, perfect for a hangover cure, fries can be a bit too salty for most people's liking. Excellent drinks selection, coke with raspberry is awesome. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will be returning again soon.
L. P.
Always great if you love a packed burger and a tasty milkshake. Fun to see the potatoes came from home!!
S. P.
A bit pricey given the fact that the presentation is still more "fast food" than "a la carte", but the quality of the burgers makes up for it. The chunky, handmade patties actually look and taste like they're made of beef, unlike the wafer thin, soulless excuse for a burger you might pick up at a McDonald's restaurant.
G. H.
What's not to like!!! Burgers are out of this world and they have like a gazillion flavours of soft drink
D. M.
Very nice burgers. Wide selection of items to add to your burger and fries cooked to order... just very pricey imo.
Good place to go for premium burgers for sure. Not had a milkshake from there but have heard good reviews
J. W.
Love the food in Five Guys.
Having discovered Five Guys whilst on holiday in America I was thrilled to find it in the UK and that the food is just as tasty here as in America. Everything is full of flavour including the free peanuts.
They also have the coke machines with an array of different flavour drinks and free refills.
The food is more expensive than your McDonalds, Burger King etc. but you get what you pay for, the quality and choice at Five Guys far exceeds other fast food chains.
S.
I found it quite exspensive for what you got, the restaurant was clean, the staff polite and cheerful. However £3.50 for a coke seems extremely steep to me. To put it in perspective I can order one of Bugerkings more exspensive meals for under £8. One of the smaller burgers, a drink and a portion of fries will cost nearer to £12.
J. G.
I didn't quite expect it to be just one step up from a Burger King or MacDonald's. The furniture isn't really that much better.
The hamburger was fresh. The taste was good and the salad was obviously freshly cut. You can watch them make it if you want. The chips we're great. They were.salted perfectly for me.
Now the down sides. Upstairs smells. It's as though someone has used dirty water to mop the floors. And there aren't any loos for people who have mobility problems.
The route to the ladies' is a bit up and down. The ladies' is clean. No bad smells. Automatic flushes, taps and hand dryers.
b.
Outstanding burgers, spotless restaurant, competent staff and drinks that aren’t watered-down (a rarity these days). Best skin-on fries you’ll find anywhere and great complementary monkey-nuts. Yes it costs much more than a McDonalds, but it’s worth every freakin penny!
R. D.
I love the food! Five guys fries are fantastic, they are a delicious cross between skinny fries and wedges. The burgers are a tad greasy but who doesn't love a bit of stodge, definitely a cracking hangover cure.
Personally I really enjoy Five guys because it's like a greasy version of MacDonalds or Burger king but more tailored for adults (you can buy budwiser) and i really appreciate the ability to choose burger toppings.
J. P.
Amazing food and great staff. The price may look high at first but it's definitely worth it.
I'm pretty sure the small fries here is more than most place's large fries
J. G.
A bespoke bugger served up in the style of a fast food joint like McDonald's. This place is expensive, but this shouldn't really be compared to the likes of McDonald's. You walk in make your order and choose your toppings for your bugger or dog, then take your ticket and walk around the side and pass the kitchen, so you can watch you meal being prepared (if that's even possible in the hustle and bustle of a very busy restaurant) till you get to what it is a pass/counter where your number will be called out, think of it like an Argos where you get food at the end. The quality of the food however is excellent and I think it's safe to say it's the best cheeseburger I've ever had. You have he option to grab some peanuts as a snack where the unlimited refillable drinks machines are, because, why not, who doesn't fancy some peanuts (unless you have an allergy of course)? There's a greater emphasis on where the food is sourced from, with posters stating which farm today's potatoes are from, ect.
This place screams Americana. From the toppings you can have on your burger or dog to the decor. You will love this place.
j. s.
We went here after visiting Santa's grotto as a family Christmas treat. We didn't fancy macdonalds as you always feel hungry 30 minutes after eating there. I was concerned when we saw the prices on the menu. Especially since unlike macdonalds you then have to add your chips and drink on. But the man that served was great and explained that a regular portion of chips was enough for the 3 of us (2 adults and a toddler) and that the price of the burgers included a selection of toppings at no additional cost. The range of draught soft drinks available was phenomenal, and the food was really nice (nicer than macdonalds) and more filling. The music was very loud but overall we enjoyed our experience. You also get a tray of peanuts free. If you want fast food that is good quality, filling and only marginally dearer than macdonalds then I recommend this. Toilets were reasonably clean. The chips were slightly on the too salty side for us and if it wasn't for that and the loud music we probably would have given 5 stars.
J. S.
Love five guys, especially this one, they sometimes give you a free drink which is always a nice touch.
The cajun fries are always the perfect level of spiciness for my liking, not so hot it burns but not mild by any means.
Love the burgers too, I've had them delivered by deliveroo a couple times and theyre always amazing.
I would definitely say they do one of the best fast food burgers.
The selection of drinks is almost endless. Personally love the fruit punch no bubbles option the best.
E. P.
Can't beat it! Pricey but delicious
K. C.
A nice place that reminds me of what burger joints used to be like in the days before fast food was a thing. Wait times still way faster than a restaurant, so I'd still say it was fast - maybe 5-7 minutes or so which is reasonable for a raw patty to cook.
Patty is thicker than BK and McDonalds, and place is like is high end version of both. Definitely worth a visit at least once. Burgers taste nice (but since everything else is fresh and authentic, I'm at a loss as to why processed cheese is still used instead of real cheese). It is pricier than McDs / BK but burgers and fries were nicer. Fries actually tastes like a proper chips and burger tastes pretty good.
Drink is expensive but refillable so you can fill up as many times as you like. I had little cheeseburger (little= single patty), small fries (like a medium at McDs) and refillable soda drink for £10. Much cheaper than a sit in burger restaurant like Handmade Burger or Reds, which I average £16-20, so I think it's reasonable for what you get.
Doesn't seem to have problems with getting seats in daytime, and staff keep eating area wiped and cleaned regularly.
S. L.
£26 for two of us to eat burger, chips and water, in surroundings no different than any other fast food chain. The medium fries are £4.50! No wonder the place was nearly empty at lunchtime! Perhaps the cost is all in the food sourcing.... I'm not sure the concept works.
G. L.
Things to watch out for are the size of the burgers. A regular is a double and a little burger is a single. Keep it simple and you won't have any problems getting around the burger. I normally have the double cheeseburger (regular) with grilled onions and mushrooms with ketchup, mustard and mayo.
N.
I had a lovely experince at five guys. Mafalda did a great job explaining me the menu and was very friendly and undertsanding. Definitely recommend it :)
M. D.
Very overpriced, not very chatty staff. It was our first time so we didn't fully understand everything about the place but as we're young it seemed expected that we'd know what to say. The drinks machine just didn't taste good - you could choose up to 300 drink choices...well I think they were all mixed up! On the plus side, the cheese dog was amazing.
M. A.
The food here is amazing. Simple as. Unfortunately the queueing system can be a bit unusual and even though I've been here before, I still had no idea where to start queueing waiting for my food. There's also a separate queue for milkshakes.
The "free all you can eat peanuts" sounds like a nice bonus, but they obviously still all have the shells on, and who's going to bother with that? Literally no one from my experience.
If I had one criticism of the food, it's that I would recommend they drain the oil from the burger before wrapping it in tin foil. Sometimes unwrapping those things can cause a tsunami of grease.
A. L.
Good food as long as you get the best burger combo for you. Over expensive though with a meal consisting of hamburger, chips and drink being 12 quid odd. Cajun fries are to die for and you get a ton of them even when you order small.
A. B.
The classic burger finds a safe haven!
Price for two: £15-30
Pros:
1.Classic burgers, hotdogs, fries and shakes. Nothing else.
2.Free refill for all sodas.
3.Patties and hotdogs cooked to perfection.
4.Generous serving of fries with the right amount of crispness.
5. 12 fillings and sauces: all free!
Cons:
1.No kids menu, free toys; etc.
2.All food served in brown bags i.e. no trays; could be inconvenient for some people.
3.No table service whatsoever, even if there's a long wait to get your food.
4.The wait can get long during busy hours (I waited 14 minutes once)
If it weren't for my wife, I'd go eat at Five Guys everyday. They have brought the burger (with a real patty) back to the masses. They have stripped everything else from a fast-food menu, except fries, hotdogs and shakes. There's no confusing menu of 67 mediocre, unexciting, poorly conceived items, many of which are brand tie-ins. Instead, you only get one burger and one hotdog (with either cheese, bacon of both), 2 sizes or fries (salty or cajun), 4 flavours of shakes and one size of drink...and they all taste amazing!!
Standing at the counter, watching the chef prepare the burgers and the fry guy/girl tossing huge scoops of fries in your bag is a treat all by itself.
And do you miss the days when they'd give you an empty soda glass and you could fill it up at the fountain, as many times as you wanted? And do you miss the ketchup and mayo station? It feels so good to be able to do these things again!
It is the renaissance of the classic fast-food joint!
Z. S.
Nice burger, more expensive than your regular fast food but worth it.
R. H.
Lush.. Large chips (for four) jeez..
S. R.
Amazing quality of food, as well as lovely service! Even during the pandemic the restaurant had the same service with the exception of not bring able to sit inside
A. S.
This new fast-food restaurant is a fantastic alternative to McDonalds, bringing fantastic fries and burgers. Not to mention the free and unlimited refills with hundreds of juices and sodas to choose from- you name it, they've got it!
Although it is a little more expensive than your average fast food venue, you wont be disappointed with the experience!
d.
One of the best burgers I've ever had! The chips were also great, recommend only getting one portion between two people though unless you're a monster that can eat like four huge potatoes worth of chips!
S. L.
Resturant super clean and easy to navigate, staff all friendly and approachable. Food was delicious and served quickly
A. T.
Toto Africa was on the Radio when I walked in so you get 5 stars Also the place is decent for food. it's mildly over priced but I guess it's an experience as us poor people call it. I like the funky wall art the customers create as well
D. C.
Absolutely beautiful burgers, but a bit pricey if you are just looking for a quick take out. I would have given five stars if it was not for how expensive it was. Definately something to be appreciated, not something devoured quickly.
N. S. G.
Experience was meh, chose most of the ingredient and ended up with a soggy mess, bun was poor quality, the meat was thick but grisly. Only ingredient of quality was the cheese. The seasoned fries were too salty, individually the fries were nice and had potato skins left on them. The sodas had an excellent range of flavours to choose from. An added plus was the free monkey nuts.
R. C.
Much better than McDonald's and burger King. Its not fast food as in burgers already in wrappers ready to hand out. Build your own configuration then wait for it to made. Along with the ingredients, the higher quality is what makes it different to the other two.
G. K.
Excellent burger 🍔 so fresh and fries. Even a small chips is fine. They are like the size of a large if not bigger than Mc Donald's
C.
Guy who served us on the till was lovely - excellent customer service!
M. N.
Quite expensive for what you get but very nice not sure about the chips would prefer proper chips ,but all in all place very clean no mess anywhere will call again
G.
Good view of the town upstairs.
The burgers are good, but definitely not the best by a long shot. The drinks selection is fantastic. A bit expensive for what it was.
Would still go back, but would rather find a nicer place.
M. W.
1st time at Five Guys today. Staff were friendly and helpful. While it appears a little pricey the quality is excellent and is more than worth the coins.
Cooked in front of you which is always a bonus.
S. C.
At least once a month on pay day visit here for a Bacon Cheese Burger with all the works. It's very tasty, but the loss of the stars are for the price and Kitchen cleanliness that we are open to viewing.
If you add a drink and fries it's far too much money. The burger it self is £8.95. Which is a high, but it's way better then going to Burger king and Mcdonalds.
The place needs working on cleanliness behind the counter because fries all over the floor and when you see the burger grill... Hmmm sometimes when I see the burgers being cooked on the grill and the staff are cleaning/scrapping around the burgers while it's cooking and the grill being thick with grease and burnt bit from the previous burgers it is not very appealing.
R. C.
First time here will not be the last, wow the food is so delicious the burgers are the best I've tasted and even the fries are amazing, then they have the drinks machine which I'm sure has over 100,000 options haha will be sure to taste them all will be back again and again. Staff friendly chatty and contribute to the overall experience too.
M. G.
OMG!!!! I love this place. The food is very fresh, you only get what you ask for which is great if you have dietary restrictions like me. The milkshake is gorgeous and the chips are very tasty. Can’t wait to go again.
O. h.
The food is amazing! Staff always seem happy and always are welcoming! Just an all-round lovely atmosphere . Order a smaller portion size in fries tho!
m. K.
Yes it's expensive for a burger and fries. But it is delicious and for an occasional treat it's lush. The burgers are well known but they also do good hot dogs!
A. D.
The burger came with a bun, and chips. I ate them
J. P.
beautiful food lovely environment and the unlimited refills with the coke mix machine is quite enjoyable. prices are pretty ridiculous because of the locally sourced food they make more of a profit from this and they could reduce prices and still be profitable and keep the same quality of food if they wanted
S. W.
I'm just not sure I get it. The burger was ok but the cheese was over powering. £4 for fries is ridiculous. I don't care if they are from Lincoln. The cheese was overpowered by the massive sense of guilt and shame for paying £16 for a burger and chips.
J. C.
Very nice burger , fries were alittle poor milkshake was fantastic
G.
Great grub. Can have as many toppings on your burger as you like and the chips are proper. Little on the pricey side for a fast food joint but very tasty.
T. W. H. T.
Best fast food I've ever had. Awesome burger, awesome fries. Only thing is it's pricy as they only offer alakardand no set menu. Worth a try but not my staple.
L. D.
OMG!!!! I love this place. The food is very fresh, you only get what you ask for which is great if you have dietary restrictions like me. The milkshake is gorgeous and the chips are very tasty. Can’t wait to go again.
C. S.
Nice food, fast service, first time we've used a five guys.
E. C.
I love Five Guys, especially thier fries! So much more filling than McDonald's or Burger King. My 7yr old also loves it there as he can have "special Fanta" - No Bubbles pop ha ha
H. J.
Not sure what all the fuss is about. The order wait collect method of ordering is a novelty and the monkey nuts you can eat as you wait is a bit of fun. But the burger itself was unappetizing and served is a tin foil wrap. Not for me but I know it's popular with lots of younger diners
c. d.
Was good as always tho the portion of chips was less than they used to be only thing that's a shame is can't sit outside while fat hippo and others you can. But is what it is.
M. M.
Nice burgers. Service took a while but staff pleasant.
S. T.
Better than Macdonalds or Burger King. Also much more expensive. No hot drinks available just the usual chemical based fizzy drinks or beer.
Probably not recommended for vegetarians or people wanting healthy eating options.
A. P.
A good example of you get what you pay for.
I thought Burger King were the best burgers around but due to large queues ended up at Five Guys.
Slightly higher price but much higher quality food.
s. i.
A great place to have your burgers made as you like and prefer them, including anything you could have with a burger or cheeseburger... Sauces, tomatoes, onions erc erc... One of the best fries... All the wide varieties of soda drinks you could choose to have with free refills... It is worth a try...
N. G.
This place gets a huge amount of credit and in my opinion isn't that amazing. The burger that I had was a little dry and although it was thicker than a McDonalds or Burger King, you'd expect it to be when you're paying more than double the price. I was told the small fries were for 1 person and the medium were fit for 2 - honestly? Who have they had in there, Yoko Ono? Ronnie Corbett? If you can survive on small fries, save your money and just get a Lion bar down ya neck instead. Also, on a Friday the place is filled to the brim with drunk scoundrels.
T. N.
It's nice but really expensive for what it is. Can customise the meal exactly how you like it though.
G. O.
Nice burger..but £13.50 for burger and chips in a fast food restaurant..Is ridiculous.
R. “. P.
Best burger I've tasted. Fries are awesome.
Staff are very good. Super clean.
R. G.
Great hamburger. Fries were ok. Wifey got a vegan sandwich - very bland. Maybe time to introduce vegan patties? Service was lovely.
S. C.
It does exactly what it says on the till.
Awesome burgers, great fries and bottomless soft drinks. Small but decent selection of beers.
My son just can't get enough of it.
S. B.
Not a good value for money. 9£+ for a rather small burger with just cheese and bacon. On the pros it has a nice view of the main road and very crispy bacon.
A. R.
Nice burgers that are a bit expensive. I found the mini burger comparable in size to a regular McDonalds burger and just as filling. You'll need to wait a while before you get your order as they make the burgers in batches.
A. A.
Have been at this place a number of times and it never disappoints. Great music, cooked and salted to perfection fries and simply best burgers in the world! Favourite place in town to eat!
A. T.
First impressions and it is a great fast good chain with great tasting food. Excellent choice of drinks.
Came at 1:45 ish on a sunday and sevice was very quick (5 mins )
Tiny bit expensive for what it is.
C. S.
From the moment we walked in the door till the minute we digested our last mouthful, we felt welcomed by the staff.
Our order was taken with ease, despite our slightly inebriated state. Before we'd even had a chance to sample the complimentary nuts, our food was on the counter exactly as we'd asked for it.
Two well stacked bacon double cheeseburgers, filled with two different combinations of odd topping mixtures, accompanied by a portion of chips, which could have easily been mistaken for an extra large in most other fast food establishments, freshly fried in peanut oil and made from potatoes from Woodland Farm, in Suffolk, UK.
While we sat and enjoyed the banquet before us, we listened to how the man behind the counter dealt with an awkward customer. It was like watching a beautiful ballet of words, where on the end everyone truly is happy ever after.
When the food was gone, it was sadly time to leave. As we left, the young man on the counter, and the kitchen staff who weren't concentrating on stacking tomatoes and jalapeños for the next customer, bid us a very fond farewell with no previous prompting, and it served us well for the journey we had.
Happiness spreads, and if we spread any that night, it was certainly fueled by the staff in Five Guys.
M. l.
Little over priced. Got 3 burgers & 2 milkshakes & 1 regular fries = £35!
Music toooo Loud plus the air con was on ( raining outside) making it quite cold. Think I might try 4 guys next.
J. R.
Good food good portions good service.
K. M.
Five guys. Five stars. I enjoy going to five guys every so often. It's quite highly priced compared to other burger places, but I would definitely recommend coming here at least once.
M. D.
Really good quality and fast service.
R. K.
The staff were great but the food theft me feeling disappointed and is way over priced of what you get
C. R.
A good quality fast food, a step up from McDonald's and the others. Quite expensive, next time I'm on Newcastle and want a burger I will go to the fat hippo instead as it's far better value for money.
P. T.
As always quality burgers and real chips...covered in their cajun spice seasoning.
P. J.
Amazing friendly staff. As I was new to the Five Guys chain, I was confused about the type of fries, so manager gave the fries on the house. Definitely going back again(for more fries :p)
K. J.
Good food, nice staff.
C. E.
A stripped down menu and a little more expensive than your usual fast food, but both the burgers and fries are to die for... Just remember to decide what you want before you get to the till, as the hustle of the open kitchen and queue behind you can make you feel a bit rushed.
b. a. y. l. e. e.
Food was amazing, I really enjoyed the bacon cheeseburger, and the Oreo milkshake was great however it can be a bit expensive.
L. H.
High quality fast food, but a little on the pricey side. Expect to pay £15pp. Order small fries, as this normal is too many fries for one person.
S. J.
Lovely burgers and chips. A little up there in price but so worth it! Staff are canny as well
S. E.
Standard 5 guys experience. Can't complain
C. T.
Been going here for about a year regularly. It's ruined my fast food experience as it tastes so much better, definitely worth the value. I travel 150 miles sometimes for this place. Good job guys :)
T. T. S.
Burgers are great but a nut over priced for thlkwhat they are, found the hotdogs a major let down, nothing like the real American ones, wrong sort of buns and never seen an American one sliced lengthways before
L. M.
Have to say it is expensive but the burgers are fresh and the best I've ever tasted, great that you can choose your own toppings 😍 and really good/quick service!
R. S.
Really simple menu, nice fresh made burgers and fries that beat any other fast food outlet, all of this comes at a price however and it is more expensive. Still great place to go for some food
O. B.
Great burgers and fries - the drinks machines are often not offering "full fat" fizzy drinks which has happened on the last 2-3 occasions. Dr zero is an ok backup but it's not the real deal!
C. W.
Always wanted to try 5 Guys. 1 star for having proper Sarson vinegar, 1 star for the good music and peanuts. Cheese burger was ok, Hotdog was poor. Not very good for £16.70.
D. W.
Best fast food burger I've ever had, the fries are amazing, too, and the portion sizes more than justify the price tag.
S. W.
Defo a huge step up from McD's, etc (but still think Fat Hippo does best burger in the Toon). Five Guys just don't have the flavour options that Fat Hippo do but... loved that you can get a lettuce wrap instead of a bun and the Coke Machine Of Many Flavours is F.A.B.
T. L.
The food here is a good standard burger. Fair share of toppings. But ultimately too expensive. Okay when you get bored of all the other burger chains.
M. P.
Burgers with all the toppings you could ever imagine and the best shakes in the world
H. R.
Always had good food and service from this branch. You will never be disappointed with the food, ...bear in mind a small fries will probably feed two people.
J. E.
The cheese burgers are delicious, you can refill your cup as many times as you like and they've got loads off different flavours to choose from.
O. S.
Great food as always. Some of the best staff and service I've ever witness
A. W.
You pay for what you get. Best burger in town
H. B.
Best five guys ever! Lovely staff and great service!!
J. O.
Five Guys have the best burgers and fries and this new restaurant also has great views from the top floor. Perfect for passing the time whilst enjoying great food.
A. H.
Best hamburgers I have ever tried
G. E.
The guy behind the bar was super helpful and honest, the burger was good and made well, and the cajun fries are the best thing I've ever put in my mouth
T. H.
Expensive for a burger place, but food tasted quite good. Burgers tasted like homemade burgers you would make on a BBQ. Staff were nice and helpful.
J. P.
Good food and friendly. Beats other burger fast food establishments hands down. Only downside was a long queue, though it was match day.
J. T.
Quick to get served and seated burgers are nice, not amazing like everyone makes out, place is a tab bit expensive in my opinion, milkshakes and fries are nice
A. B.
Just a shame they don't sell any chicken products. Everything else is great.
C. O.
The food was great quality and the service was also great
E. L. (. D.
If you want the best fries in town, the juiciest burguer and a world class milkshake, this is definitely the place ...🤤🤤🤤😋
B. B.
I tend to only go for the milkshakes. Why pay that much for a burger when we have Fat Hippo and Meat:Stack nearby? Local and superior quality, sorry!
V. V.
What a lovely relaxing place. Food is great. Staff offer an excellent, helpful and professional service. Everything was spotless for a Friday night. Keep up the good work there guys. Highly recommended
D. M.
The burgers are almost infinitely customisable. They're not gourmet as such but definitely fill the burger urge. The free monkey nuts are a nice touch
b. B.
Still a bit disorderly as business is picking up after close down. Food has not lost it's great unique test. Burgers to die for😋😋
K. K.
Amazing cajun fries, lovely staff. But really slow service, took like 20 mins for food. Burger was average
J. M.
Nice cheeseburger, better quality and ingredients than Macdonalds and Burger King, but quite pricey. A weeny bit scruffy as well. ie tables needed wiping.
A. S.
One of the best burgers I have ever had. Decent value and top quality food. Would definitely recommend.
G. U.
Worth the money. Best takeaway burger you can buy and the milkshakes are unrivalled.
J. K.
Best chain burgers in Britain. Well ok - GBK are great too, but Five Guys' spicy fries tip it over the edge.
T.
The burger was nice but the milkshake took the show away! Definitely recommend getting the milkshake when you visit
K.
maste fries iyy. Still pricy af for a burger tho.
K. S.
Cajun fries!!! A couple of veg options. But I hear the non-veg options are great. And there's unlimited soft drinks-and over 100 varieties of them
A. B.
Nice staff, good drinks, good fries, but very normal burgers not as well as McDonald's. Also expensive.
I. D.
Absolutely amazing burgers here. Highly recommended. Very good service and staff.
O. B.
The fries were amazing. The milkshake to die for and the burger, amongst some of the best I've ever had in Sunderland.
J. H.
My daughter's favourite treat. I like the free monkey nuts. Only down side no coffee for me. Staff are excellent
w. d.
Great place.. gets busy but they serve very and fast and accurate. Kept clean, always some one cleaning and sweeping. Well a visit. Reasonable priced.
Y. E.
Nice town in the schoteland, or north of greit British
F. A.
Excellent service and great quality food
L. B.
Food was made fresh, it was quick and tasted great. It was expensive though and the restaurant was loud and too bright. It's on a par with Burger King.
T. L.
Excellent food, good service, not Macdonald's prices, but ample portion, it was packed, I'll certainly be back, compares to Florida 5 guys...
L. B.
Really good burgers, although they're not that cheap. They also serve fantastic chips, while the Cheese Sandwich actually was a little disappointing.
A. A.
Such tasty food! A bit expensive but way better than McDonalds and burger king combined. Plus there's refills on drinks!
D. D.
Best burgers ever. Some say it's expensive but I'd rather pay more and get something delicious.
J.
People say it's great burger. Perhaps. But it's pricey for what it is. Free peanuts and refillable drinks probably don't make up for it.
i. 6.
My first time at 5 guys, the fries are amazing but I expected more from the burger.
J. W. M.
Proper dirty Burger and fast service, as good as any Five guys I've been too 👌
m. r. (.
Good location.
awesome burgers
milkshake with bacon in, amazing.
music was too loud
price of burgers are far to high. It is not worth that much
K.
You want a burger and fries, best places to go. Bit pricier than McD's or Burger King on the same street but a better burger.
M. K.
Delicious milkshakes, not a very long queue even on Sunday.
L. F.
Great place to eat and good portions refillable drink and pots of chips
M. S.
Expensive but worth every penny.
A. I.
Really nice food but a bit pricey .
A. F.
Really nice as a treat but super expensive would prefer to eat out for the price you pay for fast food at five guys
L. T.
Bacon cheeseburger with everything in is amazing. French fries are also recommended.
A. M.
Service was just fantastic - the staff are lovely a cut above the rest and the milkshakes are yum ❤️
G. S.
As always excellent
S. R.
We tried the restaurant in Madrid and it does not change in Newcastle. Very tasty and lots of chips to share. We recommend.
J. H.
Properly fresh and tasty ingredients with the most choice I've ever had for toppings and drinks, far better than the big M.
J. W.
The food is good. But it's expensive for what it is and I don't understand why I have to wait. At least the price keeps the riff-raff away😉
L. P.
Small burger, for a lot off money
M. S.
Bossing it with their all beef hot dog - just enough on the stomach and great value
J. W.
The food is good. But it's expensive for what it is and I don't understand why I have to wait. At least the price keeps the riff-raff away😉
R. B.
Nice food, but way overpriced
J. J.
Great burgers, well made, the fries are lush with vinegar on and all milkshakes should come with bacon in.
A. F.
Great burgers, but it's expensive - expect to pay about £15 each for a burger, fries and a drink. Great toilets for customers.
b. c.
Quick brilliant service and the countries best fries in my opinion and that's not an exaggeration and brilliant food probably my favourite burgers
P. M.
Place is phenomenal. Falls somewhere between fast food and traditional restaurant fayer for wait times, but the burgers are immense.
A. S.
Its way above the usual fast food names. But there are better burgers from local independents for similar money.
T. E.
Quality food and quality fast service. Good selection of soft drinks and shakes. A burger the way you want it.
B. S.
Naming for the burgers is confusing, ordering system is confusing, service is slow, and place is expensive, but decent food.
S. L.
Best burgers in Newcastle; fries are lovely too. Never had a bad meal here.
N. M.
Loved 5 Guys in America and thought I'd give this a go. Very similar to the original chain, a great burger experience, but it is quite expensive.
D. A.
A little expensive for what it is but other than that it's great. Best hotdogs around.
P. M.
Great food, excellent milkshakes, and to this day I have never encountered toilets more hygienic than those at a five guys establishment.
J.
This fast food restaurant has the most DELICIOUS foods ever. The only thing I can think that is wrong with rhis place is its price.
M. C.
Burgers tasted unreal. I still thin £25 for two cheese burgers, one fries and two drinks is quite pricey.
F. A.
Favourite cheeseburger in Newcastle! Milkshake is class. Cajun fries okay.
i. K.
Very best coctails. Staff are all very helpful and friendly. Try the boneless hot wings. They go lovely with Budweiser 😉
A. W.

One of the best burgers but the most expensive. Dont know how the company survives been so close to mcdonalds.

This place is a must people say its dear but technicaly not if you go for a family meal the staff will tell you on savings instead of trying to get as much owt of you about on the same par as burger king on prices and you can have a beer with your meal our a milkshake they are Lush must try if a cud give more then 5 ✨ stars a would you can tell the burgers or quality not like the other branded high Street burger place 👌👌👌👌👌

Well worth a visit. Lovely burgers and chips, a small is more than enough to share.
M. E.
Great milkshakes. Good beef hotdogs. Burgers were just okay. Will come back again for the be milkshakes rather than the burger.

Five guys is definitely the best burger you are going to get on Northumberland st without a doubt.
E. B.
the best restaurant you will ever go to, the taste and quality of the food is exceptionally high, i highly recommended going here and getting some classic chips

The guy Matthew M. at the till was so nice and great service.
Yummy burger and chips 🍟🍔

I couldn't see problem with other than being unfamiliar with the place never been there before.
J. R.
Only 3 stars from me, I feel its overpriced for what is after all a burger. Town centre location probably ups the price
G. O.
Top end of fast food, great when compared to bk and Macdonald's but doesn't compare to a gastro burger. Expensive for fast food
R. B.
Nice food but very pricey
D. H.
Chips were undercooked during a busy period. Overall good service but I'd rather wait for perfect chips! Very clean tho!
A. T.
Great fresh food, amazing milkshakes only down side is its a little pricey
O. C.
Great burgers and amazing cajun fries... great staff they asked if I want a drink and I said no and then I got it for free, he said its on the house 😂😂
J. H.
Properly fresh and tasty ingredients with the most choice I've ever had for toppings and drinks, far better than the big M.
L. R.
Can't fault it for what it does - great to have exactly what you want on the burger and nothing else. The fries are great too!
T. W.
The food is brilliant, the staff are very kind, drinks are refillable and it's nice inside.... but, the only thing is that it's really overpriced

Best burgers in town hands down. Ask for Gautam

Chips was so delicious.

We tried the restaurant in Madrid and it does not change in Newcastle. Very tasty and lots of chips to share. We recommend.

D. T.
Loved the free peanuts and it might have been the best burger I've ever had?
P. G.
Burgers tastie, fries a bit burnt, very brown, very busy. But a change from big macs.
S. P.
Amazing burgers and legit shakes, a bit over priced but worth the taste ☺
N. W.
Good hot dog and good beefburger, the latter according to my brother-in-law, plus loads of free toppings to choose from.
D. S.
Great burgers, made to order and fast. Not a cheap bite though.
P. S.
Nice burger. Kids loved the pop machine, over 100 different flavours and unlimited refills
A. .. U.
Very neat and conducive to relax, eat and chat with friends
P. M.
Good food but freezing cold as door always opened
M. F.
If you're in for the fast food, this is the place to go. Great burgers and hotdogs from local sources as far as possible!
G. P.
Good burgers and shakes, but the whole place smell a lot like burgers, so beware of this.
D. T.
Nice burgers. Nice chips. Expensive though. Only worth getting a small portion of chips as 'small' is huge.
A. A.
Food is great as expected! Place is very clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. Five stars!
T.
Banging nice big restaurant 😋
H. E.
Great burgers. Staff were so helpful and friendly.
M. H.
Beat takeaway burgers around. Might be more expensive than McDonald's and Burger King but they are 110% worth it. You wont be disappointed.
J. W.
Did was lovely and fresh, but rather expensive for what it is.
J. B.
Great food and drinks, bit pricey but has great atmosphere and good customer service.
A. S.
Fast food served well good helpful friendly staff
S. D.
I made a bad choice of hot dog with bacon, and it's poor value and hard to eat, mess everywhere.
S. “.
Love a good 5 guys burger and fries
M. S.
Cannot fault the food and customer service whatsoever, both absolutely smashing. The prices however have to make it a treat
S. I.
Best burger and french fries I've tasted
