Reviews of Haveli

Regularly use their takeaway service as we have two young children so it works well to have a lovely meal in the comfort of our own home. Good quality Punjabi cuisine; a credit to the local area and a real Saturday evening treat. Good veggie options as well.

Highly recommended. Polite and helpful staff (although one waiter hung too close a little too much, but was new and still learning). A small range of menu items - in their case this is not a weakness! The dishes are well judged, meat used was great quality. Very flavourful.

Absolutely brilliant. Popped in for a takeaway chatted with the host about what we like and got some super suggestions and some customisation. Absolutely superb.

Went for a family celebration. Hadn't been for quite a while. We had a great night. The place looks brand new inside and very clean. Service was excellent and so was the food. Very reasonable prices too. Will be back again soon.

I was Delighted to see that Haveli at Darras Hall had opened again after the strife of the past 2 years so I went along there to re-experience Their wonderful food and 5 Star service .
I am now looking forward to regular visits to Haveli , a Restaurant that ticks all of the boxes for me and is without any doubt a lovely dining experience in a great location .
Thank You All at Haveli ,
See You next Weekend

Great food of excellent quality. Interesting menu with a wide range of options from curry house classics to Indian Street food. Although the prices are a little higher than other Indian restaurants you are paying for the quality of food and surroundings. Excellent interior and atmosphere. Only improvement could be the service, which although efficient, I find a little too formal and unfriendly. To clarify, the service is good, I just feel it could be a bit more relaxed and warm.

Lovely food but nan breads let this place down was more like a flat pizza such a shame as otherwise food was fab

If you want authentic Indian food this is the place.
The food and staff were excellent.

We visited this restaurant earlier in the year with our German friend. The food and service was exceptional..we were greeted by very friendly staff and given time to make our choices. We were helped when needed with our choice. The lamb chops were delicious. Our friend was very impressed. I'm never disappointed by this restaurant. Well done.

Booked a table for a party of 8 adults and two children on a Saturday night a week before the event. On the day I was due to attend the restaurant they called me to confirm the booking still stood, which I thought was very good of them as I was meaning to call them myself to reconfirm the booking.
On attending the restaurant at 6pm it was fairly quiet. The staff were very good and attentative to our needs, which varied since we were a large party. The decor is really nice and the music, whilst quite modern, is not too loud.
The food is absolutely amazing and some of the best Indian food I have eaten in a restaurant. We went for the street food meat platter and veg platter for starters. Portions were decent. For main we selected butter chicken, which had a nice sweet taste to it, chicken madras which was spicy and lamb rogan josh. The lamb was very soft and not too chewy.
When we got to the restaurant it was quiet but it soon started getting busy towards the 7pm mark, therefore I highly recommend you book if planning to visit on a Saturday night, or get there early doors (Haveli opens at 5pm).
Only criticism is get the door on the gents stall toilet fixed as your punters may need to use it if they order a vindaloo!
Thanks to Haveli for making a special occasion very memorable!

Very high quality and very well cooked food from Haveli. Probably the best I've had. Only recently moved into the area and this will definitely become our "go too" for Indian food. Cant wait to try more of the menu!

The restaurant was closed due to the pandemic, now it’s back and the taste hasn’t changed.

Quite disappointed with this restaurant despite a number of good reviews from others. Acoustics are terrible hence the place is extremely noisy and difficult to have a comfortable conversation.
Having been to many Indian restaurants the food here is very average. Tiny popadoms, and a starter for four at £30 was unappealing. I ordered Mossala but the sauce was like jam and nan bread was like a strange crisp. Not like Indian food at all and quite expensive too. There were four of us and it's a definate no no from us ! Sorry

Me and my girlfriend went to Haveli's on boxing day and the experience was fantastic, from when we came into the restaurant the staff greeted us with a smile and asked if they could take our jackets to hang up and asked where we preferred to sit, just as we sat down we were asked if we would like some water and left us to browse the menu.
When we ordered and the food arrived (I had the railway lamb and my girlfriend had chicken tikka) they were so rich and full of flavour you could tell a lot of love and care goes into cooking the food.
They take good care of you to give you the best customer experience possible I mean even when my pregnant girlfriend needed the toilet the staff showed her where to go and held the doors open to help.
Overall I think this is the best restaurant I have been to in a long time and will be going again in the future. ps. I think this place would be amazing for parties and group bookings as the staff are amazing at actually caring about there customers.

Great food and service overall. Everything had a slightly different taste to the usual Indian restaurant. Definitely recommended.

Went to the crazy curry night. 10 of us in total so we had the maximum six curry's then doubled up on the other four. Excellent quality food and great waiter service.

Had the opportunity e visiting this Indian restaurant located amidst natural beauty. Courtious staff and excellent food. Had Naan, Dal Makhani, palak paneer, papadoms, basmati rice .
Rest of the family had murg methi chicken and railway lamb.
The fact that this restaurant is listed in Michelin book says a lot.

Amazing food served by professional friendly staff who always make me feel at home.
The menu options are super inclusive and include loads of information to help you make the best choice, one of the best restaurants in the North East, dine here every month at least once or twice, hope to see you here soon.

We have dined at Haveli twice now - once as a couple and once as a big family celebration with our children. Both times were absolutely flawless. The food is authentic, modern, beautifully presented and full of flavour, the atmosphere is elegant but relaxed with friendly, approachable and attentive staff and we have always been made to feel at home during our visits. I would highly recommend the Goan Lamb Vindaloo - the best curry I've ever eaten! Certainly a destination restaurant and worth the drive to Ponteland for.

This is one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to in the UK with original signature dishes as well as classical options. Also excellent veggie menu. Recommended highly.

Nice food nice staff but sorry wine prices are a extortionate.
Always expect to pay a marked up price but to be charged £19 for a bottle i pay £6.99 for is morally wrong sorry guys but i only get ripped off once and will not return.

Takeaway meal was delicious, well worth the 60 mile round trip. From ordering on line to contactless delivery of food to car, was so organised and efficient. Thank you.

I took my wife to Haveli on the occasion of her birthday. My wife who is vegetarian, chose vegetable korma with pilau rice and I chose king prawn jalfraizi, also with pilau rice. We had a lovely evening, the food was tasty, the service friendly and efficient, the decor, furnishings and lavatory facilities all to a high standard. We shall certainly use Haveli for our special occasions again.

As I live locally I use this occasionally when I can't be bothered to drive further afield.
Whilst the staff have always been perfect, the food always leaves a lot to be desired. All the dishes have the same unusual flavour and they are always too hot (even the Korma, and even when asking for it to be milder...), not "rich flavour hot" just "lip/tongue burning hot" . The only menu item I crave is the cauliflower rice which I can't find anywhere else and is very good.
I certainly wouldn't take curry loving friends there, but it'll do me as fast (albeit expensive) food.

Excellent service, decor, food at a fair price for the high quality. What more could you want? We enjoyed the Classic Christmas menu.

Consistently fantastic food and service whether dining in the restaurant or ordering a takeaway. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the restaurant is beautifully designed with a minimal modern Indian style.

When my North East food and luxury lifestyle blog Prosecco and Pie came to dine at Haveli Indian Restaurant near Darras Hall in Ponteland, I had high expectations. Indian, whether traditional or modern is a cuisine full of flavour, delicate spices and aromas that can make or break a meal when not cooked properly. Happily, the food exceeded my expectations.Clean, sophisticated and effortlessly elegant, the interior certainly sets the tone for the food too!

We love Haveli! The food is excellent (the Goan King Prawn is fabulous), it's beautifully presented, and the service is spot on. We can highly recommend this outstanding restaurant.
