I was recommended this place by a neighbour, it was definitely a good recommendation. 😋 Flavours were delicious, I think it was the best fried rice dish I’ve ever tasted! Octopus balls also very tasty. Presentation of food also notable and appreciated! nice to see care and love in prepping and serving our food. We will certainly order from here again.

Delicious and quality food, Friendly staffs, every table will have special attention from the staffs. My personal favourite was katsu curry with rice and chicken. Their Mango cheese cake is a must try dessert. Will definitely go back

Wow, simply wow... Everything was perfect, fresh, delicious, well presented, from the tray presentation delivery to the individual components of each dish. Real care is taken with your food and it is a very relaxed atmosphere if you are getting messy with your Udon or dumplings... Here are a few images, snapped quickly to not take away from the experience. Wow. We had already started demolishing this during the photographs and enjoyed the sharing platers and starters so much we forgot to take photos.

Absolutely amazing food! Wonderful atmosphere, decor and gracious hosts. The food is healthy, aesthetically pleasing, tasty and so well priced. Definitely going to be a regular here, as I haven't found a single restaurant that serves Asian cuisine at this level. The quality of the food is unrivaled both with sit-in dining and takeaways. Thank you Leslie and Angel for the wonderful experiences so far! Will definitely be back soon.

Fantastic little place, Sunniside has a crazy amount of great restaurants for such a small village! Small, well decorated, lovely warm welcome and marvellous authentic asian cuisine at reasonable prices. We will definitely be back!

The food was incredible. Good prices. Brilliant service. Very clean. Very ambient. My mates birthday, they brought a dessert free of charge! Result! Food was served in good time. A free starter was also given which was nice! It is attached to a pub but it's not an issue at all!

Took a trip to Kato Pan Asian today with my partner after hearing brilliant reviews. It definitely did not disappoint, it was outstanding! Leslie and the team did an amazing job of making us feel very welcome and the whole experience was a solid 5/5. The Octopus Balls were so good we ordered a second helping during our main courses! Will be back again in the near future!

Fantastic, the food is amazing and the staff so friendly. We had the duck dumplings and beef spring roll to start both set the taste buds going in anticipation for the main course. We where not disappointed, the Japanese Beef Curry and the Grilled Chicken teriyaki with veg noodles, exceeded expectations. Then the wow 🤩 factor with the homemade ice cream cheesecake. We will be back.

Lovely food, really good service, flexible with the menu. Good takeaways/delivery. If you like a good Japanese dining experience go for the Bento box. We love it here, so glad it opened as we live nearby and wanted a wider variety of local food!

Beautiful food! I try to come here every time I visit Sunniside. The food is beautiful presented and so tasty + filling. The staff are super friendly and respectful too, fantastic place. I'm lactose intolerant and the waitress was dead on point on informing me which meals had dairy and which don't (which is most of them!). They have a printed out allergy sheet for each meal, so I could very easily decide what to eat based on my diatery needs.

I go to a an open mic night at the Potters Wheel which incorporates Kato, so have not tried the food, however it looks an excellent restaurant, all staff are friendly and efficient, I know this because the food has to be brought through the room.im in from the kitchen and into the restaurant and it looks and smells great, I'll try it some night and I'm sure it will be as delicious as it looks.

Tried Kato takeaway for the first time yesterday and the meals were absolutely delicious, Chicken Katsu curry and Breaded Chicken curry were absolutely amazing, Spring rolls were lovely but the only critism was that there was not enough sauce to go with the spring rolls. Staff were fantastic and we will certainly be back again.👍

Best Japanese food in the North East! Having spent 6 months in Japan over the years and desperate for great Japanese food in the North East I can confidently say this is the best. Really tasty, all the right flavours and really freash - worth the journey out, but make sure you book ahead in the evenings.
