Booked here to catch up with some friends and family, What a beautiful place, food is amazing staff are very polite all round service is 5 stars+ tapas were what we ordered one were these beautiful spicy prawns and they never disappointed all very delicious. My partner ordered the seabass with muscles I were always very sceptical of muscles but I tried them and they were beautiful we actually ordered more. The desserts were beautiful too im a starter kind of lady but I had a dessert and we all tried each others everything were well presented and very tasty. Very highly recommend.

Delicious tapas last night in Sabas, our table wasn't ready when we arrived, but we were shown to the bar for some pre dinner drinks and then a very polite member of staff took us and our drinks to the table. The service was prompt and friendly throughout the evening. We ordered 5 dishes, a few beers, cocktails which were on 2 for 1 all night (happy days) and all of the food was brought promptly and was very well presented. The chicken dish was our favourite, char grilled and very well seasoned. It was unfortunate that they had none of the meatballs available. Later in the evening an acoustic guitarist set up and played some cool background music, nothing too invasive to the dining experience, but a nice balance. I'd recommend this place for drinks or food, but book up, as it looked busy throughout our visit.

I’m Italian, from Sardinia, and Sabas’ food tastes like home. The atmosphere is elegant but friendly, and the food is fresh and tasty. It’s my second time here, this time I brought my parents and they agreed it’s very good. I will definitely come back again.

Food was reasonable although not great. Two waitresses were okay, I suspect they may have been trainees. One other waitress was so loud when attending to nearby tables we had to suspend our conversations because we couldn't hear each other.

I came here to eat with my family as it was within walking distance from our hotel and the choice of food looked really good from the outdoor menu. The staff were very welcoming, the lighting was low as it was the evening and there were plenty of tables available, we hadn't booked so we were happy to be accommodated. We ordered cocktails and our food. The drinks were nice and refreshing and the starters were equally good. We ordered a variety of mains and deserts, 3 courses per person. The bill was not too high, probably what is expected for what we ate and drank. Our waitress was very helpful with explaining a couple of the menu options and provided a great service. I would highly recommend this place for its drinks and food. It does have the option to sit outside but at the time we went there were no tables setup but that might be to do with lockdown recently being lifted. This is the kind of place you can go to with family and friends for drinks and food on a night out or have drinks during the day and just chill/have a catch up.

I went for a meal tonight and my experience with sabas was outstanding. I don't think I have ever had a service as good before. I'd like to say a special thanks to Christine who nothing was too much trouble for. I even ordered a glass of milk and she got it without any trouble at all. As far as the food goes it was beautiful and just perfect. I will be returning very soon

Came with a Stag do and the staff were brilliant. Special mention to Colette who was our main server, she was very patient, pleasant and friendly. Food was well cooked and reasonably priced. They did take a little while to get all the food out but 11 pizzas at once is quite a lot in their pizza oven. Highly recommend them for a group or a a quite night out.

Like some previous reviews we found the service to be great but the food itself to be quite average. We enjoyed the sharing platters of burrata and meat and cheese but the arancini we ordered was some of the worst we've had - tiny, bland balls and not at all like any arancini i've had in the past. We also thought the menu to be a bit jumbled and not very clear (the two sharing boards we ordered had a lot of the same items) and would have expected the burrata to come with bread.

Great food, however frustrating that despite booking for 9pm the kitchen closed at 9pm, so they brought all our food together rather than as requested as starter and main (which the menu says you can ask for if you wish). That would stop me coming here again to be honest, I don't want all my food to arrive at once so it gets cold before I've eaten it!

Friendly staff, beautiful decor. I had the calamari for starts - nice, but would have preferred a bit crispier. Pizza made up for it, proper Italian style. Nice thin base, topping not over the top.

We had booked table in the bar but when we arrived the bar had been booked our for a private party. We were sat elsewhere but it was full of noisy families having food. We specifically booked to avoid this happening.

Lovely atmosphere, great staff. The zucchini starter was lovely, and the pasta was the best I've had since my trip to Venice. Zombie cocktail is a must! Very strong but great if you like rum. Only two things, the sides are very small for the price and I couldn't see a disabled toilet. My mam would not have been able to use the toilets if she had needed to as they were upstairs. Overall, great food and service. We would return safe in the knowledge there's a disabled toilet in the pub opposite.

We have been customers of this fab place for years..There may be an abundance of restaurants in Newcastle now however the food here has always been of a high quality. And the service super friendly and efficient. Christine is our favourite staff member, although all of the team are fab 👍

Enjoyed a lovely meal here before seeing Simon Reeve at the Sage. Great service even tho they were really busy and delicious pizzas. The restaurant is on the quayside so good location and was full even tho a Tuesday at 6pm. They have lunch and evening offers but we ate from main menu as just wanted mains but did have some cheeky little chilli olives to share which were terrific!

My friend and i visited Sabatini's the Friday night of restuarant week. The restuarant was clean and beautifuly decorated and there was a great atmosphere.I had calamaria with a garlic mayonnaise which was quite nice then rump steak tomatoes and chips. The steak was very thick and chewy. I would have preffered it to have been tendorised beforehand. I have had much better in other italian restuarants. Also our main courses were brought out before we had had our starters even though we had been waiting an hour for them. The dessert we both had was a beautifully moist lemon sponge with vanilla icecream and one of the nicest i have had in an Italian restuarant. I will definitely visit Sabatini's again maybe on a quieter night and hopefully the service will be much improved and the food somewhat slightly better

Really enjoyed our early evening meal here. We were hoping for happy hour but with it being December it was a set Christmas menu. It was still good value though, and the food was very nice. Service was excellent from start to finish and the restaurant has a really nice atmosphere to it. Only irritant was a suggested service charge written on the bill.

All four different meals from the bistro menu were very good; tasty, well presented and good value. The sea bass was especially good. The ambience was relaxed but tasteful. I have always enjoyed an evening at Sabatinis! The service is quick, efficient and friendly! We had a voucher for the evening and it was a cracking deal. The food was excellent, and the menu and options available extensive. For me, Sabatinis is a must if you are looking for a great meal, in pleasant surroundings and at a reasonable price.

Went last night after a afternoon on the beer. Bait was Awsome. I had a fillet steak cooked medium rare and my wife had a pizza. Starters were fantastic and mains were also. Couldnt fault it. Service and hospitality as well was brilliant. Think we may frequent this place now. I've seen reviews saying that it's expensive. We had two courses one filet steak drinks and it was 55 quid. Not expensive at all. If you want cheap and less quality go to sambucas but if you want good quality food and service at a fair price I recommend here.

Best Italian in Newcastle. I come to Sabatini each time I want to celebrate something. The place is nice and the environment calm and intim. The food is great, pizzas are delicious and pasta too. I would also recommend the fried squids. Everything I've tried was excellent. A place to come back.

This isn't my normal type of restaurant and it was obvious that I wasn't their normal clientele but as my Niece from the states is a celiac and they do gluten free pizzas and she and boyfriend were hungry I didn't have much choice but the staff were lovely and the food was great and the service spot on thank you. There is only criticism I wish they had pre cut the pizza ( watching my nieces boyfriend trying to use a knife and fork was painful ( most Americans use a spork ))

Supposed to be some of the best Italian in Newcastle. Come for a great cocktail lounge on your right, or restaurant on the left. It's down on the Tyne and away from some of the madness so it's a bit more quiet and can be followed up by a nice stroll along the water after lunch or dinner.
