Popped in for some tea and wasn’t disappointed, it wasn’t busy on a Sunday morning but the service was quick, the staff were friendly and helpful and the decor was amazing. Enjoyed my experience.

Friendly staff, just popped in for one drink. I had fizz, hubby had coffee, which he got with a shot glass full of chocolate eggs. It was a Monday night so not busy but still had a lovely atmosphere.

Lively pub which boasts a long bar making service quick and easy. Great selection of beers and spirits... I was up for the game from London and was surprised to find Camden hells on tap (taste of home). Staff were great very friendly especially the security team.

It was a nice place, food was reasonably priced however the drinks were expensive over £10 for two pints. Nice staff and the game machine zone is brilliant bringing some very happy memories.

Popped in for a drink for the first time on Saturday. Music was very loud but being of a certain age I enjoyed the tunes being played. The venue is very large and on the night it was easy to get served and grab a seat as it wasn't too busy. Bit hard for conversation but I'm sure that doesn't bother the younger generation!

Having visited her twice, quiet time and a busy Saturday night. The staff and the service waiting times for even the busy time are great and the staff are very friendly. Your staff are fantastic and are real assets. Love the arcade as well Original review: Cocktails were lovely, food is your standard pub grub but the offer made it even better. The blonde barmaid was brilliant! Gave my girlfriend a free shot for her birthday.

Nah like usually this place is so game me and my mates love it for football and carling dark fruits but this time around i comes in my leeds shirt ye, and this bald bouncer for some strange reason was furious at the shirt and was so incredibly rude to me (at first I thought this was a joke) for no reason at all I understood there was a policy for no away fans allowed which I understand but he voiced this to me incredibly poorly said we need to leave immediately. If I was you I’d get nicer bouncers because there seems to be a problem with foolish rude bouncers in newcastle i understand this isn’t your staffs fault but it really puts me off wanting to come again. Current staff excellent and very welcoming. Had one particular episode where made a complaint over being ignored for an order and asking for times to be served, complaint never responded to but now absolute transformation staff attentive friendly got it should be, those staff previously no longer there

I quite enjoyed my few drinks outside area. I didn’t like the fact that I haven’t been told that my second cocktail is gonna be serviced in the plastic cup. I still wanted to stick around cause the staff were friendly so enjoyed my few beers after and chat. Would love to return!

A plaque to commemorate the legendary and historic "Mayfair Ballroom" that was demolished to make way for cheap and nasty "The Gate. " Decades of historic culture were wiped away and replaced with drinking, gambling and sociopathic security guards.

I highly recommend this place. Prime location, thoughtful decor, friendly staff, tasty food, and a good collection of draught beer (as well as retro games). We had lunch there a couple of times and we could always enjoy some relaxing time. Btw their beef stottie is amazing.

Called here for drinks and food and so pleased we did. My husband got the steak burger (he always gets a burger when we eat out) and said it was the best burger he has ever eaten. I got the butterfly chicken with salad and chips, all of it was absolutely beautiful and worth every penny, big thumbs up to the chef. The staff were equally fantastic, they had a food critic in that day and explained that there would be no music on until he was done, which was fine after all we went for a relaxing afternoon. They very helpful about social distancing and just overall polite, friendly and extremely helpful. Thank you for a fantastic experience.

I had an amazing night at mayfair. The music was great and staff were welcoming, but what was outstanding was the security/doorman that were working; they kept checking on my group to make sure we were having a good time and to make sure we weren’t having any trouble. Amazing salsa and bachata events on Mondays. The classes are really great and adapted to the level of the participants. The good point is that no partner is need and there is a social dancing afterwards. People are so friendly, full of good vibes, it gives so much energy. I'd definitely recommend it !! :-D

This is not meant as a slur or to be in any way derogatory towards the Mayfair bar and Kitchen. As it is a very nice bar and the pint of Worthingtons that I had was certainly very good. Also a good price £3 odd for a pint. Although as ever the simple and brutal fact remains that it will never replace the original Mayfair, where I had great fun wasting many Saturday nights That said it would certainly merit a 2nd visit.

Place is nice but the cocktails are poor, my fiancée ordered a margarita for the first time and it tasted nothing like a margarita, no salt on rim and not sour. I used to work in a Mexican restaurant and the drink was nothing like a traditional margarita, Dark and Stormy was like a rum and coke with lime, sour which is what my partners drink should have been like. Disappointed, only stayed for 1 drink.

Always a solid here at the Mayfair, no booking required and if they can fit you in they will. Love the 2 for £12 cocktails however they have weakened over time and could use a bit more strength. Food at a good standard also

The mayfair stepped up its game from the last time I visited a few weeks ( overcharged for drinks, and incorrect food orders ). But this time it was spot on the service was lightning quick, food was lovely especially the masala fries and burger were top notch. Apart from that it's still got a great atmosphere and always a good laugh.

Great atmosphere but standing in a queue when we were told 20 mins actually 1hr 15mins!!! Can't book a table but then the rep coming and pinching people who "fit the croud" to sit who are about 15 people back from you and taking them in...I was sober also so won't be returning anytime soon! To add It was last weekend not the weekend past, I am.aware they we definitely not a stag and hen do who were picked as I was then sat opposite them...more like people happy to pay for a large bottle of vodka so classed as VIP...which is fine but then anyone who wanted to join from other groups also came in. I seen with my own eyes, happy to wait if its a good pub but be honest with the length of time and don't tell fibs when I know its not the first time it's happened

Went to the Mayfair last night for food and drinks with 3 friends and I can honestly say it was the best experience I have had on my visit. Atmosphere was outstanding, the food and cocktails were unreal. Most importantly the staff were a credit to the business and this includes the door staff. You want the complete experience, this is the place to visit.

Went to the Mayfair on Tuesday with 3 friends for food and drinks y 25/8/20. We were impressed with the social distancing and policing methods due to covid-19. Ordered drinks first and paid for them then ordered food which was very good. The only fly in the ointment was the fact that the waitress came and asked us to pay for the food in the middle of our meal. We would have been happy to pay either before the food arrived or after we finished but found it rude to be asked to pay during the meal

Me and some friends visited Newcastle for a long weekend stay and this bar is so chill, TVs everywhere (great for the footy) and the mix of decor is brilliant, the staff lovely and always around if you need them and the food is outstanding, would visit everytime!

Attended with a work colleague today and social distancing was in place so a big high five for that. We decided to go for the 3 tapas deal between us and made the mistake of also ordering the thick cut chips alongside . I say mistake only because they were really good but we hadn't expected portions to be so big. Prawns pil pil were good, meatballs were good, chips were really good but the squid was amazing. Thickly cut , tender and with just enough batter so it didn't overpower. Only downside was we had to go back to work. How nice it would have been to sit and relax. Oh and big shout out to Paul the Manager who I'm sure even if he doesn't know you pretends he does and gives you an incredible welcome.

Called in for lunchtime snack. Staff lovely and very helpful. Chose Bang Bang Chicken Wrap from lunch club deal. Very good value and full of flavour. Coffee excellent and even offered decaff which is rare these days. Definitely worth a visit. We will return.
