P.We went here for Sunday lunch, and as recommended on the website we booked a table in advance and just as well as it was very busy, so busy that we were politely asked to wait in the bar until a table became free. Within minutes we were called through and shown to our table. A waitress came straight over and took our drinks order and quickly returned with them and immediately took our food order. The food came quick which was fantastic given how busy it was. Its a big room and caters for large groups which we found quite noisy at times so if your wanting a quite Sunday lunch I don't think you will get it here, it's vibrant and busy and full of friends and families having a good time together. The food looked great the portion size was great and it tasted amazing. This place is in a really nice location, there's plenty of parking, and it's got fabulous staff serving fantastic food we would definitely recommend and definitely return.

I ordered the Mamma's parmo and my husband ordered the Greek pork hanging kebab and they were both decent sized portions and the taste and quality were fantastic! I had the mixed grill which was tremendous and my partner had the fillet of salmon which is the first time I've ever seen her totally clear her plate!
Would happily recommend and a special mention to a girl called Neve I think her name was, she made our occasion even better.

However, when I was there the other day, the potato skins were over cooked and hard. I love potato skins but these were dreadful and left an unpleasant taste in my mouth. The main course wasn't much better. I had chicken. When it came it was still on the bone. This wasn't mentioned on the menu and had I known, I wouldn't have ordered it.
This isn't the first time the food hasn't hit the mark with some of our family.
Overall, the pub is a great place for large groups but the food needs improvement.

D. M.Often stop off here on the way home for a pint. A good clean and tidy pub with friendly staff. Large restaurant area at the rear and bar area at the front. Always a large amount of people in the restaurant at popular times so the chef must be good. Large carpark to the side and rear.

M.Lovely setting, building is beautiful with a fab outside alfresco setting, lights and pond. Love the chips, thrice cooked chunky and crispy. The sweet and sour sauce however did taste like out a cheap jar, and no call back at the table.

Pre holiday meal... pit stop before airport. What some unreal pub grub!!! Really good menu with plenty of options . We went for hot shot parmo and mixed grill both huge portions and easy 10/10 staff were lovely and the pub itself was beautiful. Very happy with what we got and the price was very reasonable too.

H.Today we had our Sunday lunch at the white Swan and usually it is fantastic and I love to eat the Sunday lunches at the white Swan but today was a bit of a disappointment because on arrival we were shown to our table once sorted the waitress came to take our order she took our drinks first. I was very disappointed as I do not drink alcohol and I drink soft drink and I am diabetic so it has to be soft drinks with either low sugar or no sugar so to make thing worse there was no diet coke then when asked did they have diet any thing else our waitress said no so I ended up having to have a full sugar soft drink. Then the next disappointment was our lunch was served and it was cold and that was all of it meat vegetables the lot now usually we have a cracking meal so it is so hard for me to be writing this sad bit of a review, I do have to stress mind the staff were all lovely and very pleasant as the usually are all in all I would not say I wouldn't go back because I woul be more than pleased to go back and eat a meal at the white Swan.

J.Visited here whilst visiting family for a lunchtime meal, we ordered the panko chicken sweet chilli sandwich and chilli beef wrap, the chicken sandwich had no taste to it but the chilli beef wrap was good, the chips that came with them were very over cooked and quite greasy wasn't over keen on the slaw that was served with them either. Other members of the family had dessert which looked very nice and they said tasted good. We enjoyed looking at the Koi Carp in the beer garden and they had a nice idea of a little hut that you can hire for parties etc.

D. P.1st time there, checking it out for wheelchair access and dog friendly, seems ok but water bowls outside not filled and outdoor area could have been swept and ash trays emptied prior to opening, as we got there just after opening time. Didn’t have a meal as just checking ready to take mother in law . Prices seem high bit again didn’t have one, no sign if children’s menu either, as I cannot eat adult portions.

as you walk in, there is a lovely pond, with lots of huge carp in and a lovely fountain - lots to keep the kids happy and entertained.
S. M.I came here as I hadn't been for a good few years. Food back then was fab and it was last night too. Had the lunchtime special of cod bites and chips, which was generous and delicious. My daughter had the hunters chicken which she said was good but the plate was huge and far too much. Homemade chips too which is always a winner. You definitely get your monies worth. Looking forward to coming back.

We were in the VIP hut which is ideal for up to 10 people , the staff were great, really knowledgeable about the menu and friendly also the owner popped in from time to time to say hi and make sure everything was ok and a round of shots at the end of the night. This was the best food we have had for a very long time,no mass produced microwaved food here. This was actually cheaper then some other local places we have been to recently I'm trying to think of an excuse to book the VIP section again. I really highly recommend this.

We chose the lamb and the turkey with all the trimmings today, both of which were served hot and tasted delightful. The meat was very tender and roast potatoes just right (not too hard to cut). Yorkshire pudding is a generous size and with lashings of tasty hot gravy with dish of veg to share. Highly recommended!!

J.Reasonably priced Sunday lunch, rather large portion, couldn't finish it, and decent quality. Its one of the few pubs I'd go back to for a Sunday roast
L. G.Always lovely food on offer, small lunches for those who prefer, gluten free meals also for those who need them. Always leave there well and truly satisfied. Prices quite reasonable for the amount you get. Their prawn cocktails are about the largest I've seen and well and truly enjoyed. Well worth the trip from Washington south of the Tyne!

Wide range of food on the menu from the plain to quite fancy including a large selection of pizzas, though prices not especially cheap.Tasty deserts and very nice coffee.
Only real criticism would be that it took over 3/4 hr for the order to arrive on a day when it couldn't be said they were particularly busy, so one supposes there could be a very long wait if it's crowded.
d.An amazing find :-D I am coeliac and they have a brilliant separate gluten free menu, including puddings :-D a very helpful and knowledgeable team of staff, Ben looked after us and he was superb at his job, top marks. The food was delicious and we booked again for the following night, I only wish we lived closer. A lovely and clean dining room and bar with an amazing outside area to relax in. Both menus offer an excellent variety of starters and mains, all at very reasonable prices. The staff are very pleasant, courteous and efficient. I will certainly be revisiting with my family. A gem of a place in Dinnington Village.

T. W.I went with 7 others last Saturday night for our xmas night out. When I booked it I was told it would be extremely busy. We arrived at 7pm and there were 4 groups of people in the restaurant. The place was dead. I can't fault the food (apart from the dessert ) or the waiters who were very friendly and helpful but we booked our starters then waited for an eternity for the food to come to the tables. When it came to dessert i ordered the rhubarb crumble. When it finally came to the table it was like a slice of sponge cake. I stuck with it as i didn't want to wait for ages while it was changed. As I said earlier the food was ok but there was definitely a problem with getting it to the table.

OK for those of you unfamiliar with Papa he owns and runs the Skiff inn at Dunston, which is superb.
Now he also runs the White Swan which we went to today.
The food was excellent, reallyfriendly staff and The Swan is a lovely place which well decorated.

E. R.It's set in a lovely rural area 5 mins drive from the village of Dinnington. It is easy accessible passing vua the airport and heading toward signs for about 10 min drive from Ponteland. As for the pub it is set off the main road. Superb food and the starters are big enough to class as a main meal. Friendly staff and they let you enjoy yourself without rushing you out. The prices are very reasonable there are burgers, pasta dishes., pizzas and of course traditional cooked meals. Great range of steaks cooked how you like it. Check it out Northumberland at its best👍👍👍👍👀
