I had a just eat delivery from here, arrived in speedy time, piping hot and well packaged! I ordered the King Prawn Linguine and the Arancini. The Arancini was nice, needed more flavour though. And the Linguine was delicious, nice taste and nice spice to it, i would have liked it more saucy though due to it being a pasta dish it was slightly dryer than i liked but i will be ordering again from here, lovely experience so far 👍👌😁

Came in for a meal, the service was very good. We were quickly seated. The food arrived very quickly. So quickly, in fact, it raised a bit of a discussion on how it was made. But it was really nice so no problems with that.probably on a more expensive side for what you get but overall I would say a good place.

The food was amazing very happy with it. However, the service wasn’t the best. I was with my Gran and Auntie and we we’re waiting a long time to even be noticed to get our food ordered, and to get the bill. I don’t know if she was new or not but I asked for normal chips with my pizza and i got fully loaded, for dessert i asked for the 3 scoops of salted caramel ice cream and got the caramel sundae. My auntie then asked for a cappachino, non decaf, and then was given a decaf. overall we weren’t happy with the service however the food was amazing. I will recommend, just hope there’s good service.

From the moment we stepped into Zizzi's Mark took excellent care of us with his excellent quality of service and jovial manner. He kept us entertained with stories and jokes and made us feel right at home. Emma was also very attentive throughout. The food was delicious and so well presented, we even got a little pizza briefcase to take our leftovers home in! And when we had a minor order slip up they gave us a whole extra pizza no charge! Great meal out, would recommend to anyone for a special occasion or just a nice place for dinner.

One of the best restaurants of all time. I dont mind eating here every day. The staff are so nice and super flexible with changes on the orders. The best dishes to order were the chili cheese garlic bread and the slow cooked beef.

Very expensive for what we got - nearly £4 for a bottle of coke, over £11 for pasta in tomato sauce with buffalo mozzarella. Very nice but only worth half the price. Wouldn't go back because of the prices which is a pity as food and service were lovely but Sambucca's do the same for half the price.

Had a lovely meal with three friends,we have visited many many times and never been disappointed. However this evening our shared starter was served, we had no napkins, cutlery or side plates, couldn't attract attention of staff so ate shared garlic bread without these. Our meals were faultless, but we ordered pink prosecco which was served very warm and without a cooler. We discussed this with staff and the bottle was taken away to cool for " 10 minutes" It was brought back still to warm to enjoy, we were told we could have a white prosecco which was cold free of charge but there wasn't a cooler large enough for the pink, the chap dealing with us was very off hand.

Four of us went to Zizzi's for my daughter's birthday meal and on arrival we were greeted by Mark and straight away felt so welcome. He asked if any of us had food intolerances and straight away I was relieved to hear I could get a gluten free pizza. Mark was an absolutely amazing host, he couldn't do enough for us. The quality of the food was outstanding. There's no way I could tell it was gluten free. You will not be disappointed if you try Zizzi. Mark, thank you for your service you were brilliant!

First visit recently and really enjoyed it. Went for the Calzone Carne Piccante and it was certainly a good choice. Beautifully presented and very tasty with just the right amount of fresh red chilli for anyone who likes a bit of spice. Good choice of drinks, wine, beer etc. Great layout and we were happy with our seats in the mezzanine area. Nice buzz about the place.

Came here before theatre so booked for 6pm and it was pretty full downstairs. Encouraged to use app if possible to order but they said they could come to table if not. App easy to use and offered choice to add or remove ingredients. Daz took salami off pizza!! Olives for starter came as soon as we put order in and were good and spicy. Also gave a freebie of deep fried pasta which sounds awful but really nice. My spicy chicken pasta was delish and I cleared plate. Daz had spicy chicken pizza minus salami and it was huge. Served on a rectangular wooden platter with a a crispy base Large wine and peroni brought bill up to £39. Staff couldn't have been better and all wore masks as customers were also encouraged to use

Food is good. Ambience is super good. Staff is friendly. Just a note for all viewers of the review, it is very strange when they presented the bill, they added extra money for the tip. But it is written that tip is optional to my wonder they haven't asked for the option, rather they deducted tip. Sometimes I feel that is quite fine due to Covid-19 scenario and I am fine to support all restuarant and such business who are struggling... however not all people have that extra money to offer a tip. That should be kept as choice of people who pay for the bill along with tip.

Perfect venue for our family get together on w Sunday afternoon. Great choices for vegans & allergy free, although I’d say prices were a little high for what you get. Using the tastecard offering it was excellent value! Unusually, there was a good choice of gluten free and vegan desserts too. I’m always taken aback by how friendly the people are every time I come back up north, and the staff here were no Hi exception. Their southern counterparts could and should learn a few lessons from the staff here!

You walk in through the glass doors and the spices just engulf you. It smells amazing, looking around there's a very elegant rustic feel to the place a relaxed, yet gentle buzz. A warm and romantic ambiance. It's cosy on size but the tables are just as rustic as the decor. I was the awkward typical woman on our trip to Newcastle who had a craving for shrimp at 9.30pm. We stumbled across this place and was not disappointed in any way. When seated, we were advised due to the hour unfortunately starters had finished but after reading the menu the shrimp were a starter (commonly). I politely sulked that my fishy cravings shall have to be endured and the wonderful waiter popped off to the kitchen to check if the shrimp could be done. He went out if his way for absolutely no reason, we would have still eaten there but that kind gesture was greatly appreciated and might I add delicious too! The food was amazing and me and my partner both left extremely happy. Our waiter even directed us and provided wonderful locations for a cheeky night cap. Absolutely would recommend.

Unbelievably fast service, we were onto our main course in just over 15 minutes after sitting down. Despite the fast service it didn't feel like we were being rushed through our meals and the staff were lovely throughout. The only floor is that the restraunt is very noisy (due to open plan with no soft services) but we did go at half 7 on a Saturday so you expect it to be busy.

Every time I visit I thoroughly enjoy an impressive high-quality meal here in a friendly atmosphere. There is always a great selection of starters and mains and I'm just spoilt for choice with delicious desserts. Love the lemon meringue sundae and the new zingy citrus torte is just gorgeous. The garlic bread with caramelised onions is to die for, I honestly can't recommend it enough. Can't wait to go back.

I called in here early one evening and was immediately shown to a table. The restaurant has some quirky touches, such as wooden frames like roofless gazebos, and dimpled metallic tabletops (quite slippery). The waiter took my order quickly and the food was nice. My bruschetta was big, with lots of tomatoes - the yellow ones tasted a bit odd, slightly soapy actually - and not a lot of bread, and my pizza was lovely. The main issue was that once I asked for the bill and it was brought over, nobody came to take payment, so for twenty minutes I was trying to pay and go but despite waiting staff passing by and looking at me none of them asked if I was ready to pay until I eventually waved and said I wanted to pay. The waiter told me that it was company policy not to approach diners to take payment, and instead they expected diners to signal that they were ready to pay, which I thought was rather odd. That aside, the food was good.

Generous portions but didn't do draught beer just silly small bottles. Service was ok although we were ignored and had to find our own table. We sent back a salad as the butternut squash was actually uncooked, it was explained that was correct. I didn't like raw squash as it was very hard. Some of the chicken looked very dry and old also. The bill was adjusted by the staff. Probably wouldn't bother going again.

Decent place and atmosphere with average pizza and pasta food. No draft beers and only 330ml bottles of beers and limited selection. The only big bottle is Peronni beer. Lovely staff who work their but it's a chain run establishment you won't be getting big portions as you would if it was an authentic Italian. It is expensive for what you get and the amount of food you get in my opinion. And they add an "optional" service charge of 10% to the bill for large groups of 8 or more, which makes it quite a bit more expensive for nothing. We asked for this to be removed from the bill as we did not find it fair, and the waiter went in a mood for it. He did not say anything.... but it was obvious he was not happy. Other than that the place looks nicely decorated and the location is right in the heart of grey street so could not be better.

Nice location. We ordered our food and waited around 25 mins, only then the waitress realised the order was not relayed to the kitchen. However, I have to praise the staff because they handled the mistake very professionally: they made the apology and offered us a free meal! Quite busy at around 8:30 to 9 at night. Got seated quickly but it took a little longer than expected for the garlic bread starter to arrive and then for the mains to come after that. Staff were friendly, food was nice but we (my wife and I) had chosen slightly different meals to our usual. The special cannelloni seemed just a bit too al dente, bordering on under cooked. I went for the pulled beef and venison strozzapreti. This was very flavoursome and rich in flavour but I didn't feel there wasn't much meat in the dish. Looking around, most people were having Pizza and calzone and these did look nice. Great place to go as a party. I would go back but I'd be more considerate of my own tastes when ordering.

Really disappointed with zizzi this time of visiting. The waiting time for food was too long. Bearing in mind a lot of people visit before the theatre, they were more interested in getting the Deliveroo orders out the door. We counted counted five Deliveroo riders, all traipsing through the restaurant with huge delivery boxes. The waitress apologised for our weight and said we were next. Next after all the deliveries that are obviously taking precedence over diners who can actually be bothered to visit the restaurant. On this occasion even the food was sub-standard. And if you're tempted by the smoky chilli base - don't bother. The base was soggy and the edges burned. A slight smoky taste on your first mouthful then nothing. Definitely not worth an extra pound. Unfortunately this restaurant or should I call it a take away, is going down hill.
