Second time coming here for dinner and it was just as lovely as the first. The menu has a vast array of options all priced moderately. The atmosphere is very homely and front of house is delightful. The dessert was to die for and beautifully presented. Will definitely join my list of island favourites.

A small and unassuming place, but the food was fantastic. I had the melon and prosciutto starter and a crab and spinach topped sea bass for the main course. I'll definitely be returning while I'm in Newport!

Both my partner and I were absolutely delighted with our meal. I had an amazing crab brûlée as a starter and a perfectly cooked sea bream. The presentation of the complimentary bread was also delightful. On top of this, the chef was really accommodating for vegan requirements. I would love to return for more meals and try the desserts.

Absolutely outstanding restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we were treated exceptionally well. It had an intimate and romantic atmosphere and everyone was lovely. The food was fantastic - expertly cooked with the flavours to match. The glazes, the seasonings, the sides: everything was given care and attention, down to the smallest thing. Considering the amazing quality of the food, the whole meal was great value for money. We had three courses each and a bottle of wine for little over £50. It was definitely worth than that.

Wonderful experience at burns on Saturday big hut! I have many allergies which makes going out to eat difficult at times, but not at burrs! They were so helpful, reassuring and patient with me and really went the extra mile to look after me. Really amazing service and hospitality, thank you so much! One of the most incredible restaurants I have ever been to. Excellent style which is classy and genuine without being snobbish. Great quality for price ratio, and all the dishes are made/overseen by the owner who is also the chef, which means he absolutely cares that every dish is delicious and top quality. All dishes on the menu sound intriguing (such as the crab and spinach brulée, a special invention by the chef) and seafood is fresh or otherwise not available. Service is friendly and impeccable at the same time. Great selection of wines too and flexibility around requests on food combinations. I couldn't recommend this more. Absolutely fantastic! The culinary highlight of my trip to the Isle of Wight for sure.

It was my first time there. I went with friends. It was really busy, which was a good sign. The food was really great. Very responsibly priced too. We all had the set menu. Had a great time. We got drunk on food tonight. Been coming to the island for years and never knew about this place. Wow a really great experience. Firstly, the service is exceptional and the staff are so friendly. Secondly, the food was delicious. Will certainly be going back sonner rather than later.

Perfect romantic meal. The food was beyond compare, an amazing menu and everything presented beautifully (and with quantity which is often lacking in up market places). Cosy, intimate atmosphere with staff who are friendly and judge his patrons well. Often chatting to the guy on his own but mostly left my wife and I to it (anniversary meal), though talked when we did. To top everything off a set menu for 3 courses was £50. I wouldn't change a thing.

Faultless from start to finish. We visited as a party of 7 people, one of the party was dairy intolerant and one was a seven year old boy. I was extremely impressed with the attitude towards my dairy intolerant partner, separate butter and vegetable portions were brought to the table for him and all staff were aware of the intolerance. The attitude to my Son was also fantastic, they omitted certain parts of the food from the plate on request and even offered to make something specially for him. The food was beautiful, not a single complaint to be made. The atmosphere is lovely and so were the staff. I would recommend that you book in advance, and if there is anyone in the party with dietary requirements give them a forewarning so they can accommodate easily. I look forward to visiting again.

This really is the jewel in the Isle of wight's crown as far as restaurants go. We have been coming to the iow for 50 years and I can quite honestly say I have not found a restaurant it's equal on the island. Even in London I struggle to find a better restaurant. I just looked it up on google because we are going there again tonight and my mouth is salivating at the thought. Give it a try and see if I'm wrong or just read the reviews.
