Came to this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. The chef and host were so lovely and the food was very authentic and full of flavour. Ordered about 5 dishes and the total came to £30! Will definitely be coming back.

This is one of my absolute favourite restaurants. Authentic Spanish tapas cooked to perfection. Its a cosy, warm, friendly and unique place. The white Rioja is stunning. From the delicate yet nutty cheeses to the delicious octopus cooked New Olé style. Every single dish makes me want to go back for more! Thank you Anton & Fay. What a wonderful find! A lovely intimate place with beautiful food, cooked by Anton. Genuine tapas is hard to find here but Anton being Spanish has succeeded. We were greeted by Fay who was very warm and chatty and made us feel very welcome. It's so rare to find a place these days, that a) has fantastic food, b) has lovely staff and c) you want to return to. This place has all of these things. Would definitely recommend. Thank you for a lovely experience!! O and the Sangria was excellent!!

Such an incredible little find!! Coming over to Newport for a few days, I always look to book restaurants in advance. I wanted to take my partner, who claims not to like tapas, to try some and New Olé had good reviews and a good amount of choice. When we walked in, my partner asked "are you sure this is a restaurant?" as it is so tiny and also serves as a takeaway, but it was rustic and charming and does have a couple of tables. Run by a lovely couple, the service was fantastic - very friendly and chatty, and super knowledgeable about the food. The chef is actually from Northern Spain, so you know you're getting an authentic taste! The portions were super generous for the price - exceptionally good value. All in all, a wonderful little restaurant that I wouldn't hesitate to come back to if I was in the area again. They did say they were expanding to have tables out in the garden, doubling the seating capacity and I would love to see that!

Probably the best Spanish food I've ever had in Wales. The passion for sharing the Spanish gastronomy of the chef Anton speaks volumes. Makes the experience an absolute delight. Highly recommended!!

What an amazing gem of a restaurant, small, stunningly decorated and the food was out of this world. Best tapas I've eaten and generous portions so excellent value for money. Fantastic place but booking is probably advised because they only have 3 tables, the tapas here is better than the food in Saville, the whole experience was fantastic, a massive thanks to the owners who made us feel welcome and really looked after us. Walking around I discover this lovely place with typical Spanish food, I just wanted to order some food for take away to give it a try so I just ordered two different types of croquetas and it was absolutely amazing(which is complicated talking about croquetas), really tasty, plus we get a tapa of paella for free while we were waiting which was really kind and good too. I’ll be back to get a proper dinner soon

I walked passed this place and decided to pop in randomly as I had lived in Spain before. It is a very small venue that reminded me of being in a tapas bar in the back alleys of Barcelona. Not a venue for more then 10 people. The food was delicious. real authentic spanish cuisine. I had a few of my favourites and it honestly felt like I hadn't left. The waitress was very friendly and polite and for tapas the portions are very generous. A must visit or order.

A hidden gem which we stumbled across online, and what a find. Extremely welcoming and wonderful customer service. Intimate size which enabled us to chat with the owners, meet the chef and learn their story of how they built a wonderful eatery. Recommendations were perfect - the menu has lots of choice and you can’t go wrong with any of them. Portions are big so was a shame to leave food but great to try different plates. If we are ever back in the area, would definitely go back. A perfect Sunday afternoon stop off. Would highly recommend.

Fabulous, authentic Galician food in one of the friendliest restaurants I have ever visited. My friend and I were in town for the football and I'd cycled over from London so was extremely hungry! The food here was not only filling, but also beautifully cooked, with nice wine to go with it.

This little gem is amazing, we came on a recent trip to Newport and New Ole was recommended to us. The food was fantastic and really well priced. The Galician octopus was especially good. Will try and go again if we're ever in Newport.

It's not whats on the outside but the friendly cozy inside. Booked a table for 3 last night and was not disappointed. A real little gem. We had a wonderful chat with the owner Ju who is a total delight. Chef came out to meet us and was very informative and interesting. Classic. Let the missus pick only the 2nd place to eat in our 9 day trek through Wales and she picks another belter. This one and Lampeter. Booked a table on the day and managed to get in which is a shame as the are only 3 tables and this place should be booked out every day. Had 5 tapas. Chorizo Croquettes. Our favourite. Chicken Paella (even though it wasn't made to order, it was still fantastic). Some potato and egg dish with chorizo. Never heard of it before but would order it again. And finally, pork shoulder. Just yum. We talked to the waitress and the chef and it was great getting to know why they do what they do. It's not often you find people with a passion for doing something. We were so full but couldn't turn down a churros for dessert. It was the best churro I've eaten. Fresh. Crispy exterior, doughy, chewy centre. Perfect churros. And it was all so cheap for the food. We've been spending £40+ for two on meals but this was only £32. Well worth it and if we didn't live so far away, it would definitely be a regular. 5 stars and much more.

We had our first take-away from here last night and it was amazing !!!! I really don't know how I have survived so long without tasting their stuffed mushrooms and there are 2 in a portion so a perfect starter !! The calamari was lovely and crispy on the outside but not chewy on the inside and the paella was really tasty. Lovely and hot when it arrived. Don't think twice !!x

Delivery was an hour late, however driver did apologise. Food was absolutely stunning, really took me back to my holiday in Mojacar. I spent £50 on 8 dishes, all but one was lovely. Really enjoyed the garlic bread, croquettes, and stuffed mushrooms, however the spaghetti carbonara was very bland and watery. I only ordered 1 dessert to share but it only came with 1 strawberry, so might be worth mentioning how many people if ordering to share. Overall, really impressed, most of my food was full of flavour. I do recommend.

First experience with this place was through just it, order arrived hot and with a sample size of paella de pollo. So i thought I'd check the place out with a visiting friend. Alexandra was very lovely and welcoming. The food was well prepared, tasty and cooked authentically by a Spaniard chef. The lovely rustic style decor in the restaurant was all done by Alex and her brother. The dishes are presented in tapas sizes so if you're really hungry you may have to order alot more whuch racks up the price in comparison to order restaurants. That being said, if you want a tasty meal , freshly cook, authentic spanish food. Look no further. They even offer catering services and will cook any spanish dish if you order 48hrs in advance.

What an excellent addition to the Newport food scene! This little gem is cosy, welcoming and serves some truly beautiful Spanish tapas dishes. The service is friendly, the atmosphere is fun and welcoming and the portions are great value. I'd recommend the meatballs and the jamon croquettes!
