We ordered with delivery for the first time today, and were so disappointed with our pizzas. They were basically just cheese, with a very small topping on (exactly 8 thin pepperoni slices on each pizza). The rest of our orders (panini's, burgers and pizzas) arrived cold, but we assumed this is maybe a lack of insulation etc. as it's a new service. Such a shame, as the in house ice creams are honestly amazing. We'll probably only pop in for ice creams when we're passing, and avoid using for actual food orders in future. (Just to clarify, we did call to check, and were assured that all these pizzas had exactly 8 slices of pepperoni on, and that it was to keep the price low...Not the end of the world, just not what we had in mind when we ordered pizzas!) In reply to the response, yes it is a shame it wasn't hot, though that was not my complaint (the marathon was running today, and as stated this is a new service.) I still rated three stars for the reasons given, and feel it's a very fair review to be honest. I don't like to add issues unnecessarily when there may be genuine reasons for small issues, especially for local businesses, which is why I rang to check the pizza topping was intentional. It didn't seem particularly helpful to complain about the temperature, given the likelihood of unavoidable circumstances. And yes, we are close...Not really sure how to be any fairer in my review! It was, as I said, 'not the end of the world, just not what we had in mind when we ordered pizzas!'.

Nice little stop on the Riverfront Walk with some really nice ice cream. Didn’t see any bins anywhere, which is odd, and the customer toilets could do with some maintenance. The first door doesn’t open all the way, the internal door’s lock isn’t properly attached and the flooring is poorly installed. Staff were friendly and happy to help.

Great new ice cream place that's just opened up. Selling Joe's ice cream along with other desserts. The chocolate orange ice cream is probably the best I've ever tasted and their cheesecakes are delicious too

Joe's ice-cream is hard to get wrong, but the cone was so brittle it shattered as it was handed to me. They then forgot my son's ice cream. Should probably just make them as they are ordered like every other ice-cream place

Great portions and really friendly staff. Have tried the pizzas, loaded fries, and ice creams, all really nice. The place could do with some music playing in the background as it is a bit too quiet when eating inside. (Not sure if this is due to a legal reason though) It's also a bit cold inside BUT that's being critical, overall fantastic.

Nice riverside stop for a truly great coffee when out on a training/practice run... (...and if your out on the bikes, and need some more serious refuelling - I can heartily reccoment the sausage n' bacon rolls too...!!!)

Great selection of food and ice cream. You can order via app or at the counter. Friendly and helpful staff. Fair value. I only take a mark off because it tends to fill with a weird cooking haze, like steam or smoke from the kitchen. They definitely need better ventilation in the food prep area.

I've been here on a few Saturday mornings recently. Lovely coffee and food. The children love the choice of Joe's ice cream, with sprinkles of course. Friendly staff. Good to see another independent place in Newport of good quality.

Octopus Lounge provided an ice cream van for our wedding. Amazing service! Ice cream was amazing as always and they catered for every allergy and preference we had. Great price and would definitely book again for any other occasion we had :)

Would definitely recommend we had a gluten free Bbq chicken pizza and the chicken strips and chips everything was cooked to perfection and it was nice and hot when it arrived, I would also like to add my partner has coeliac disease I called to ask if if chips were gluten free and if the chips were cooked in the same oil as everything else Gareth made sure the chips were cooked in a fresh fryer that hadn’t be used for anything yet so thank you for that we will definitely be ordering from here again

Great. This new place deserves to do well. Joe's ice cream is excellent. Not quite like the actual Joe's, but it's a little taste of Swansea in Newport. Dog friendly too.

We stopped for a late lunch and were glad we did! The baguettes were freshly baked and absolutely delicious. Generous cups of tea too. The staff are friendly and helpful too. We would highly recommend anyone to try The Octopus Lounge 👍

This little gem does the best ice cream in Newport hands down. If you're walking towards the Blaina Wharf it is on the right handside after George Street bridge. They also provide fresh coffee. Pizza for a bargain of £6! And many other fantastic food items such as Belgian waffles and slushes. Family friendly and dog friendly, this restaurant provide indoot and outdoor seating right by the River Usk. In a quiet spot away from the noise to enjoy a nice beverage or something sweet. One thing I will suggest is that the everything that this café restaurant isn't signposted enough because the food there is great. I feel that if this restaurant was advertised more and people knew about it. They would be very eager to support this fantastic local business. The main road is nearby so perhaps a signpost to catch the attention of commuters travelling through Newport would gain more attention. Btw the ice cream is a Welsh ice cream brand called Joe's (hence the reason it caught my attention) established in 1922. Me and my dog Ted left feeling very satisfied and I've been back several times. 😃🐶 P.s. Waffles are a great price too and would seriously recommend.

Picked up a TooGoodToGo magic bag. Was expecting maybe ice cream, slither of cake and a treat for £3.59. All I received was 2 tubs of ice cream worth £4.10 - huge saving right? Disappointed with the lack of variety compared to other store magic bags purchased. After reading the reply from the owner, I can now see why I received just ice cream and why the price is justified. Apologies.

Lovely place to go for a coffee after a nice walk round the area . We had a really nice slice of orange cake which we had warmed up definitely recommend, chocolate brownie and oreo icecream. Really friendly staff as well.
