Since both Chiquios closed in MK, we visited the one in Northampton. Boy, we missed it!!! Excellent food… no, it was better than that - best Mexican food we had in the UK! Lovely restaurant with a brilliant atmosphere. Our waitress, Olivia, provided an exemplary welcome and service throughout the meal. Thank you for having us and we will definitely be back!

Food was good but a few let downs on our visit today. Starters arrived in normal time but there seemed to be a delay in the mains which meant we waited a long time between the courses. No explanation from the staff or apology when they came. There were around 5 other tables so not busy at all but there were a fair few app delivery orders going through the kitchen. I ordered double filling with my enchiladas and they looked pretty ordinary when they arrived (see picture). My wife ordered a steak cooked rare which came medium-well. It was really thin steak so hard to cook rare to be fair. Service was good and staff very attentive. Fair experience today, not the best but certainly not the worst!

There are 4 things I look for when eating out, the food, the setting, value for money and the staff. We were a party of four celebrating a joint birthday and as we walked in received a warm welcome from a young lady at the door, who guided us to our table. Absolutely loved the setting in Chiquito's, it really sets you up for a good night. Our waitress was a lady called Barbara, who is probably one of the most genuine, engaging members of staff I have come across. We all had different questions about the menu and she was very knowledgeable and able to guide us in the right direction. A really lovely lady with a sense of warmth and humour about her. Food wise I opted for my main the pulled pork and chicken and to say I enjoyed it is an understatement. For a follow up I opted for the mango sorbet, which was so refreshing. All in all a very good evening

A gorgeous meal although it took quite a while to arrive. When it did arrive it was piping hot. They had lots of delivery orders with lots of collections, don't sit too close to the door as quite cold in the restaurant. Have given it a 5 star rating because the food was delicious 😋

I went for dinner with my partner, my twin and her boyfriend for our birthday. We were booked in for 17:00. We were met and served by Jacqui… it was the best customer service I have ever received. She was funny, and aware of menu shortages and informed us prior to ordering. The drinks she made were tasty and looked incredible, offering her recommendations based on drinks we previously ordered. She advised me how to correctly eat my king prawns as I am an inexperienced shell fish consumer and also provided support and sympathies for my sisters boyfriend who suffers from crohn’s, who was experiencing appetite loss and discomfort. Thank you for a memorable birthday, the £5 tip we scraped up doesn’t reflect our appreciation. Thank you Jacqui!

Food quality was good as usual however we waited for 1 hour to get our starters, then another 20 minutes for the main. The blame was on some big party, orders to the kitchen being hand written...blah blah blah . Previous time wasn't this bad but still quite slow, the culprit then was some staff under training. We went to Chiquito's for our anniversary dinner....the food was very well cooked and tasty with good size portions. We had cocktails to start followed by two shared starters and a main each. The service was very good. The staff were very friendly and kept checking to ensure everything was OK. The only negative I'd say is we had to wait 35-40 mins for the starters to come out. Other than that, I'd definitely recommend going and I'd go again myself.

Great tasting Mexican Food, in a fantastic, authentic, spicy restaurant!.. Arrived mid afternoon, and were seated and served quickly. The restaurant was steadily filling up, and by around 4pm it was half full. This coincided with our dessert - Jelly and ice cream for the kids. This seemed to take an age to arrive. The only blemish on an otherwise pleasant experience. Would happily bring the family back for another feed.

Had a great meal, service was great. The only down side was having to discuss Covid indoor hospitality Gov rules with the manager. Their website says they are only taking bookings of up to 6 in line with current rules. When you call and say it is 7 they say book 5 and 2. The manager accepted that that the gov rules do say up to 6 people or larger if 2 households. We were 7. Basically good food, lovely service but a chain like this should have things like Covid rules right.

We'd booked at a table and it was lovely from the moment we got there. Food was amazing, drinks were super, we had really missed chiquitos - the only thing that stops this being a 5* review was that we were asked to move table just after we'd ordered our desserts and more drinks. I work in hospitality and found this quite rude. Everything else was lovely, the pay as you go thing, I'm not quite keen on because I don't like being on my phone a lot during dinner but good Covid measures. Missed chiquitos a lot and very glad they didn't close permanently.

Great to see Chiquitos Sixfields open again. Same great food with a responsible, but not overbearing, strategy for managing social distancing. Yes, things are a little different (no comedy sombreros for a start) yet it felt much more 'normal' than I was expecting, in a good way. If anything, staff were even more attentive than usual and the level of polite, socially-distanced formality felt very Japanese. I guess one big criticism is that I would have liked to have seen staff wearing masks or visors, particularly when preparing and serving food. I work for the NHS and I know masks aren't fun, however when handling food about to be consumed by another in the middle of a pandemic, face coverings seem a fair ask. Despite all this they were super considerate when dealing with allergies and special requests - our sever Sid was a star. Thanks guys. Sort out your staff with face coverings and we'll sort out another visit soon

I have a fondness for Chiquito's having worked for them many years ago as a Manager. Today, the experience is somewhat different and somewhat more expensive than then. The food is "OK" - somewhat more traditional (or at least what we in England would call traditional) than it used to be, but it's nothing out of the ordinary than any other anglicised 'tex-mex' Kicking off, it doesn't really matter where you go, a Coke Zero is a Coke Zero so hard to say anything exceptionally good about it...it had ice, it was cold which are all things one might want from a drink, but that's it. It wasn't a large drink (can-size 330ml maybe) and at £3, pricey. The jalapeno poppers were pretty good. Hot, crunchy, spicy, and packed with cream-cheese, accompanied by a nice jalapeno jam, it was a great little appetiser, again though, at nearly 6 quid for 4 poppers it was a bit pricey and being served in a nice wire basket, there was more style that substance. I ordered the pulled-pork Chimichanga as my main. Served quickly and hot it was just that..a pulled-pork Chimichanga...fairly tasty with some nice flavour, some OK guacamole and salsa in a somewhat crispy tortilla. (It was still a little 'bready' in places.) It was 'OK' or 'fine' but certainly not 'great' and did not make me go "Wow" and at £11.79 definitely did not hit the spot. Another Coke added another £3 to my final bill of about £24 for what was an overall unremarkable dinner. Two more poppers and refillable soda (or even a bigger size) probably would have pushed my opinion up to 'not bad', and I'll probably come back, semi-reluctantly at some point in the future, however, looking at the full menu, I feel that it is generally a bit over-priced for what you actually get and is trying to make up for that cost-saving lack of substance with a bit of style that doesn't quite make it.

I came to eat here with my familý in the school holidays after watching a movie. We'd booked for lunch but we needn't as it was not very busy as only one waiter was serving. We placed our drinks order straight away but we couldn't decide what options to choose for lunch from the lunch or main menu. The waiter came over to take our order within about 10 mins of us sitting down which I felt was too soon but I felt he didn't give us more time to decide before asking us again. When we were ready he wasn't free and seemed rushed serving about 4 other tables so we waited tgen ordered our food. There was plenty of options so we ordered the lunch. When it came it was just the right portion and filling. We all ordered the Churros with one from the lunch, main and children's menu. These took quite some time and I felt the service had got slow. When they arrived they were given to each of us with me receiving 6, my wife and son 4 Churros' each. At the end when paying the bill I mentioned I had 6 and queried why I had more which is when the waitress confirmed if you choose from the lunch menu you get 6 which was my wifes option. I mentioned that this was my wifes order not mine for which there was no answer, I felt they should've checked who ordered from the different menus and given accordingly. We were all happy with our meal options.

Chilli con carne was very nice with guacamole and sour cream. Has nachos to start and they were massive. If your in northampton and are looking for something a little different then I suggest you give them a go. Located at sixfields there is plenty of parking so access is good. Slopes at entrance if your using a wheelchair access is easy. After meal washed my hands in toilets and these had been cleaned and were not smelly at all like so many other chain outlets. All in all good meal enjoyed and would recommend to anyone.
